Hey y'all. If you couldn't tell, this quest will be taking place in the well known DC Comics universe. Here there be gods and monsters, magicians and aliens, and even a clown or two. But bear in mind that due to various time travel related and or multiversal shenanigans, the DC world is ridiculously complex as a whole. So I'll be running a very streamlined version of it. And to be up front about it, it will likely be shaped by my own likes, dislikes, and biases.Oh, and aforementioned shenanigans won't be making an appearance.Mostly.>The RulesI will write up the life of our young hero Morgan Barrett, a high school student who has just truly begun his career as a superhero in Gotham City as Gray Ghost, you will be given prompts to direct him. Some things will require a dice roll to determine success or failure or something else entirely. Write In's are absolutely encouraged but I reserve the right to torpedo anything. The voting period will last around 30 minutes after the prompts are given. I will then announce the voting closed and write up the chosen response.>The DiceWe will be using 1d100 ninety percent of the time here. Best of three. We might use something else when applicable. I'll be running with a loose sort of degrees of success/failure thing here so no real DCs.>The Pastebinhttps://pastebin.com/u/SleepyQMHere's where the info on mechanics are, along with a chart of your current social links.>The Twitterhttps://twitter.com/SleepyQMFollow me here for updates on runtimes and whatnot.>The Archiveshttp://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?tags=SleepyQMHere's the collection of past threads. >>3063626>Last time on Metahuman Quest. Morgan met Dick for a normal day of school, only to end up discussing the waterfall of trouble coming their way..."What's wrong, man?" He motions for you to follow him, so you do, back around through the open grounds, away from earshot of the other students. "A better question would be, what isn't? Your little conversation with Queen B puts Slade's motivations into serious question. And that's never been so for him before. Not to mention Nora and Victor Fries slipping through our fingers. And then there's Bane. That's just a powder keg waiting to blow. I dunno man. I just feel like, with our most recent Titans mission, what are we even doing? I still don't understand the level of crisis we averted back there. It's like we're trying to fix a gunshot wound with a band-aid."Dick is usually so casual about all this, well maybe that's not the right word. Optimistic? Like nothing is too much. "The Slade thing is bothering me too, we need to check the one eyed bastard already."He just shakes his head. "It's not that simple. Most people can't meet Deathstroke head on. He didn't get that ridiculous nickname for nothing. What we need, is information. If we could just learn why he bent over backwards to call off the contract on us, we could make a move on HIVE."You imagine that getting info on a guy like Deathstroke to be next to impossible. You saw in his file that he completely separates his work from his normal life. Whatever that is. To the point where he acts as though he isn't personally responsible for anything he does as Deathstroke. Talk about a headcase."Where do we even start with a guy like that? Tracking him is next to impossible, even for Batman. And his personal life seems to be non-existent." You lean on one of the old pillars you've grown accustomed to in the Gotham Academy courtyard. >Continued
>>3063629Dick opens his mouth and, hesitates. But before you can press him. He keeps talking. "Well, there is one thing. But it's risky as all hell. And the only reason I even know about it because Barb went nosing around in the Batcomputer.""Really? What'd she find?" Your real curious what kinda lead you could have on Deathstroke that Batman himself hasn't pursued.Even still, Dick doesn't seem happy about it. Not at all. "He has a daughter."Okay. You weren't expecting that. "You're kidding me. Fucking Deathstroke had a kid? And here I thought he just went dormant when he wasn't out Deathstroking."He cracks a smile at your loose use of verbs. "Yeah well, looks like we can add sleeping around to his list of skills. Anyway. I'm not saying we approach her. Just watch her, see if we learn anything. Besides, I'm sure Wilson would see us coming if we came at her. He buried his connections to her pretty deep."It's weird. You never thought about the bad people you've faced as people who could have children. Families. Ugh. Back on topic. "Look man, with what went down on the last mission and what we're up against. I'm thinkin' I'm gonna take Dinah up on her offer. Maybe you should too?"He sighs. "Yeah. I've always told Bruce that talking is better than nothing so I guess I gotta practice what I preach huh?" "It'd be weird, a big mouth like you missin' your opportunity to talk someone's ear off." You both share a laugh at the barbless insult and head back towards the main courtyard. Class should be getting started soon.>Continued
>>3063635Hmm. Y'know, now that you think about it. Something's weird. "You seen the girls? M'gann usually catches me before I even see her." It's not the weirdest thing. But still.Dick thinks on it, then shrugs. "Dunno. I'm usually busier in the mornings. Maybe-" [Did I hear my name?] You hear M'gann's voice ringing in your head. Instinctively, you look around and can't spot the redhead. [M'gann? Were you listening?] [Nope. It's just a little hard to not here when I'm close by. Did you want something?][Just wondering where you were. Haven't seen Artemis or Barbara this morning either.] You answer back mentally.[Oh, we're all together. We decided to meet up before school. Just us girls!] You're not really sure what to say to that. So you leave it be, telling her you'll see her later. You look at Dick. Questioning expression on your face. He shakes his head. "Don't look at me, man. Do I look like I have girls figured out?" -----Another day at school, another day at school. You don't get payed to go to school. But you do get payed to work at the gym. Maybe you need to go to the gym. Your daily bus ride has become a bit of a relaxation ritual for you. It's one of the only parts of your usual kind of day where you just get to kick back and turn your brain off.Although, lately you've mostly been using it to think about how to best spend your down time. You got some tool kit work done with Barbara yesterday, though you still need to field test the Ghost Drones. You like that name. You've got plenty of ideas left for your kit but you've still got time for other stuff. >>3063754 You're spending less and less time over at the gym lately. There's just a lot goin' on in your masked life right now. But maybe doin' your normal shit will help? You get off your normal bus and catch a ride over to Grant's Gym. Ted merely raises an eyebrow when you walk in seeing as he's currently instructing a class. But you put yourself to work anyway. Starting with a few out of order machines. Now that you think on it, it's a little astounding how Ted has kept these machines running for so long. You're pretty sure there isn't a single one in his gym that was made after 2005. And then there's the bathroom. Good god, someone always drops a bomb in here, guaranteed once a week. Then there's the patchwork to be done on the ceiling. The Gotham rains and snow won't let you keep puttin' that job off.As things wind down and the customers start to filter out, Ted comes and finds you while you're taking five. "Hey kid, glad to seeya back. How's things?"Ugh, kind of a big question at the moment. "I've got a lot on my plate Ted, figured a normal day of work would help."The old boxer smiles and pops a squat next to you while he unwraps his hands. "I like the way you think kid, you never stop movin'. That's a good quality in your line o' work. But don't over-extend yerself. Don't forget, yer on a team for a reason.""I know, I know. Things are just a little complicated right now." Which is putting it mildly, but you don't wanna dump everything on Ted right now. "I haven't been by in a bit, everything cool here? Any british assholes try and steal any mystical amulets?"Ted just laughs. "Constantine better not show his mug here again unless he's got a magic trick to stop a good ol sock in the jaw. Everything's fine kid. I even had a chance to meet up with a old pals of mine.">Continued

I'm retired, but trainin' you is the most good I've done in years." Of course, you don't know who he's talking about by a first name. But Red Tornado? Why use a codename?"Who's Red Tornado?" He almost looks at you funny but then realizes something. "Oh! Yeah, you wouldn't know him. He's pretty rare, someone whose been a member of the Justice Society and the League. I call him Red Tornado because that's the only name he's ever had. He's an android."Android? He's joking. "They had that kinda tech back in the day?"Ted gets that sorta faraway look on his face that he gets when he's tellin' stories. "Well, the man that made him did. And his mind was somethin' else. I tell ya. The way he built those machines. Tornado tells me even after all these years even he isn't fully aware of how he works."Before you can ask anything else. Someone loudly opens the front doors to the gym, and Dinah comes strolling in. "Evening Ted, just thought I'd say hi. Morgan! Good to see you here. I'm not interrupting am I?""Oh no, we was just havin' a chat." Ted answers for you. Well, you weren't expecting to see Dinah, but her timing might actually be great. But you had other things to attend to. Not so much right now. "Dinah, you ready to talk? Cause I am."She looks a little surprised but picks up quickly nonetheless. "Of course. I'm happy to help whenever you ask, it's kinda my job. Hey Ted, can we use your office for a bit?"Ted just waves you both on. "Go right ahead, I only use it for crunchin' numbers anyhow, nothin' too private about it. I'll be closin' up shop if ya need me." With that, the old guy goes to check on the remaining people plugging away at their exercises in the building. You follow Dinah into the room and she closes the door behind you, before setting up two chairs for the both of you. "Normally, I'd want to do this at the Hall of Justice. We got a real nice room for this sort of thing. Nice soft lighting, comfy couches. Even a waterfall built into the wall. Most people find the sound of running water soothing. But honestly, I'm a bit surprised you said yes to this."You shrug, not really thinking much of the fact. "I just thought that talkin' about it was better than nothing." Not that you haven't been through this before. Everyone that knew about dad's death practically begged you to go to therapy. Save for mom. She didn't wanna force you to do anything. And maybe that's why you went? You don't know.Dinah simply nods. Taking a moment before she begins. >>3066545You think on it, the hours you must've spent in those corridors, stepping in pools of blood. Fighting guys whose power you barely understand. And then there's him. The Herald, is what Blood called him. He was on a whole other level from Blood. From you. You and the team through everything you had at him but in the end, you really only managed to hold him back long enough for that girl to do her thing. "Frustrating, really. We fought something down there, not sure what. But we didn't beat him. We just beat him back to wherever he came from." You didn't really handle Blood either, he called the Herald when things got dicey for him. Dinah thinks for a bit before responding, choosing an angle of attack you bet. "And you feel that you should've beaten him? Why's that? There's not a single person in our line of work that's never had to run from a fight."You cast a sideways glance at the statement. "Still, it's what we do. Right? Bad guys need a beating, mystery need solvin', people need rescuing. I know it's not that simple, but what's so weird with wanting to have finished the job?" To her credit, Dinah doesn't outwardly show feeling one way or the other about what you've said thus far. "Then let's revisit your batle with Cheshire. You were poisoned, but you kept fighting. Why is that? Dick told me that he only got the antiserum to you in the nick of time.">"What and just let the Black & Whites keep getting away with it? Nuh uh.">"Cheshire... I had to beat her. Sometimes you forget Dinah's experience as a hero."But we're in danger all the time doin this stuff. Anyways, The poison was a problem, but I knew I could get through it. I had to beat her. I knew I could. And I did." You're still kinda pissed she was still able to slip out but, maybe next time.Dinah just keeps going down the same way she's been going. "And why did you? Why did you have to beat her? You could've taken Sionis and gotten the antiserum all the sooner. You couldn't have known how that posion would affect you. Especially with you being a metahuman. When you think about it. You took a huge risk. And why? to prove you could?""No! It's not about that. I just- I had to. Wouldn't have been any less poisoned if I stopped, and it would've got Dick stuck with my fight on top of his own. Made more sense to keep going than to cut and run." You get a little heated, you're halfway out of your chair before you realize it. But you simmer down. Damn. You're probably just annoyed because she read you so hard.Dinah just observes you for a bit before shrugging. "Well, no point in arguing tactics now. But Morgan, try to remember that living to fight another day is perfectly fine. Even Superman has had to back up and assess the problem." She sighs. "Let's take a step back. On your last mission. I mean, he really did look scared in the end.""Morgan. I'd like you to try and not shoulder so much. You seem to hold yourself responsible for everything that goes wrong while your out there. But thinking like that will wear you won, eventually." She smiles, some of the seriousness leaving her face. "Trust me, I haven't known you long but I've known people like you my whole life."You smirk, trying not to let her words weigh on you to heavily. "Let me guess, by people like me, you mean stubborn.""Oh, you're good. Could give Batman a run for his money." You both share a laugh and allow the air in the small room to clear. But just as your thinking you might call it here, you remember something you wanna share with her."So, Dinah. I'm pretty sure Dick told Bruce all about this but he's not exactly the sharing type. So let me tell you what went down before the Black & Whites bust." -----Dinah's face looks pretty grim as you finished recounting your little chat with Queen B. She takes a good long while to say anything after you finish explaining. But she doesn't leave you hangin' for long. "Assuming she was telling the truth. This is all kinds of weird.""Right? There's just so much to consider, what she said about me, Deathstroke, why they want Fries so badly. I can't make sense of it all." Now that you've seen just how slyly they operate, and how potentially powerful their leader is, you're beginning to wonder if this is really a job for the Titans. "I'm surprised the League hasn't shut the doors on HIVE by now. They get more dangerous every time we go up against em.""HIVE has been around for a long time. It's harder than you think to stamp out an entire organization like that. And this Queen B really worries me. It never turns out well when someone like that takes special interest in you. Be extra careful when you deal with HIVE, okay?""Yeah, of course. I promise." Dinah thought you could call it after that. She told you about a million times that she wasn't trying to give you a psych eval. Just try and see what state your in. You get it. You do. And honestly, it feels good to have been that honest about what's goin on. >>3070655You're pondering what to do with your time today and it dawns on you that you haven't even seen your house guest since you brought her back to tower after leaving that hell hole in Arizona behind. It's a bit weird that you've got some girl takin' up permanent or at least semi-permanent residence in your hero base. Though you guess she ain't a normal girl, not at all. Hopping the bus to take you over to the teleporter doesn't take long, so it doesn't really give you long to reflect on what to say. Hey! Just checking in. You sure you're not emotionally scarred from being a victim of human trafficking and the chosen sacrifice of a for real cult? No? Okay, seeya. When you arrive, the Tower is the same as ever, big and clean. You're sure either Roy or Donna is around, they literally live here.As you head in you remember she's not on the increasing list of people who know your identity. So you ditch the GA uniform in favor of your workout gear. And you can just fog up to disguise your face and voice. Unless that'd be weird for your second time speaking to someone. Whatever! Your costume is at home anyways. Dick said she chose a room kinda far from other people's rooms. You see that the electronic nameplate on her door is active. Reading, Raven. That's right, you remember hearing that. You allow the vapor to flow out of your mouth and cover your face before knocking. Though before your knuckles can hit the chrome of the door you hear. "Come in." Okay. You enter, seeing that despite being here for a couple weeks the room barely looks lived in. And when you enter she's slowly lowering to her bed in a meditating pose."Hey, Raven. They call me Grey Ghost. Or just Ghost. Just checking in." You didn't get a good look at her before. When you first saw her you were fighting for your life and you passed out as soon as you all piled back onto the Wonderjet. She's pale. Like, sun burn is imminent pale. And there's this weird thing on her forehead. You'd try not to stare but she can't see your eyes."I see. Well. You've checked in." And her voice is about as dry as her expression. Damn. You're not really an awkward guy but she's suckin' the air out of this room. And it's weird, she didn't bat an eye when she saw you.>"Soooo, is this whole deal permanent? "You're the first ask about the... incident.""Yeah well, I guess my friends just wanna put in behind us. I don't need to tell you that it wasn't a walk in the park." But that strikes you as a bit odd, has nobody been checking on her? You know she refused medical attention. And when Dick offered she decided to stay here, for now. Though you don't know if it's still just for now."What else would you like to know?" She kind of surprises you with how honest she's being. Not that you expected some kind of compulsive liar but those girls that you all rescued from that warehouse were as cagey as can be. She's been through worse but she doesn't even seem to give half a shit. It's creepin' you out.You think on it and decide on the most obvious one. "That thing, the one that killed Blood. What was he?""He is what's called the Herald. As you know. The Herald is exactly what t sounds like. The Herald is chosen from dead warriors. and he heralds the coming of his master. The one that chose him. " She holds out a hand, and the coffee mug on the table to the side of her bed is wrapped in a strange dark light and floats to her hand. Now you're a little confused. "Was Blood not his master? It looked like he summoned the damn thing."She shakes her head. "No. His master, was also Brother Blood's master. The one they were working so hard to bring into this world.""Trigon." You say the name. And the mirror on the south wall cracks."Try to avoid saying it out loud in the future. Names have power." Raven moves on from that at lightning speed. "To answer what's most likely another question of yours, the mirror is a vessel. It's where I was being kept while I waited for the ritual."Right, you nearly forgot about that. She used it against them in the end. "What happened to that?""I kept it. In the end it's uses could be used for some terrible things and it is not easily destroyed." Huh. Again, you weren't expecting her to be so forthcoming. Well, You guess that's everything. Except."You doin' alright?"She pauses again, after taking a long sip from her mug. "Believe me. I am better than I have been in a long time."After that, you get the feeling that she's not up for more questions and you make a much less awkward exit and let your smoke cloud slip back into your body. You're still not sure if she's staying or what but now you have a much clearer idea of what happened. You take a short trip down the hall and knock on her down but there's no response. If she's still here on the Tower, than there's only one other place you think she'd be. So you move by one floor and enter the Tower's gym. You hear your Amazonian friend before you see her.Seems she's pummeling one the advanced training dummies. Padded robots that can fight back using programmed fighting styles. And they can even stand up to a sustained beating from an Amazon. You meant to whistle or knock on something as you entered to announce your presence but you're a bit transfixed by her moves. Everything she does is so intense and precise. So she sees you before you can say anything. But she still greets you with a big smile, as always. "Oh! Morgan, my friend. It's been a little while, hasn't it?""Yeah, I guess it has huh?" Sometimes you kinda forget to check on your friends that don't go to school. Or can't. You still don't understand M'gann's need to live like a human teenager. But it's whatever. "Whatcha been up to in our downtime?"She kind of smiles awkwardly, not wanting to give too much away. "I haven't been terribly busy I'm afraid. I've just been trying to stay sharp. Although! I have been having fun with something M'gann showed me. Have you heard of Instagram?"It's good thing you weren't drinking something because that would've been a spit take for sure. "Uh, yeah Donna. I have. What do you post on there?"Her smile gets even wider. "Let me show you!" She pulls out a phone, that you didn't know she had, and brings up her page. "You can post whatever you want, so I decided to take photos of some of my favorite sights of seen while flying in the country." There's quite a few shots in here that would be real hard to get without a helicopter or a damn jetpack even. Top down view of cityscapes and selfies from atop tall buildings. One of her most popular is one she took with one of the screaming grotesques on Perdition Bridge in Gotham. Making a face to match. Though the most popular is one with her and M'gann together. M'gann greened up as to not expose herself. It reads, 'Just chillin with Miss M!' "Well, good to see island life hasn't done anything to your tech literacy.""Indeed! I think I'm doing well too. I have two million followers now." Again. Spit take. Though it shouldn't be that surprising. Heroes rarely have a social media presence. And when they do and people can tell it's not fake they get popular fast. The Flash's twitter is stupidly popular. Or that other guy. Booster Gold? Though people call him a try hard all the time.>"So was I thinkin', I'm already dressed for it. Wanna spar with live human?">"These pictures are damn good by the way, you into photography?">"Does M'gann have an account?">"You know, that fighting style you were using is brutal. >>3072516>>"So was I thinkin', I'm already dressed for it. Wanna spar with live human?"Time to test how hard we can get while Donna hits us. Also testing our new armor ability would be great too.
>>3072516>>"These pictures are damn good by the way, you into photography?">>"Does M'gann have an account?"
>>3072516>screaming grotesques on Perdition Bridge in Gotham.I swear, the fuck is up with Gotham's architecture? You'd think with as miserable as the place is they'd do flowers or rainbows or literally anything to lighten the place up, not make it even more dreary.>"So was I thinkin', I'm already dressed for it. Wanna spar with a live human?"Want to see how long we can last in a slugfest with an Amazonian, now that we can make ourself denser.
>>3072520>>3072529>>3072531>>3072569>>3073372Alrighty guys, I won't be able to update today but I'll be back tomorrow. I just didn't wanna leave ya hanging.Sparring with Donna when I get back!
>>3073372I mean, it's Gotham. As in gothic architecture. If that wasn't the vibe they were going for they'd've called it Victoryham or something
>>3073372Cause seeing a murder victims body in a dreary gothic place is less jarring than seeing one somewhere nicer?
>>3074969Of course not, don’t be silly. However seeing nice scenery could make it easier to not dwell on the grin reality of marauding super powered psychopaths.
>>3073372Cue Dick and Donna chatting in the kitchcen about the spar later on the eve of a titans mission or get together. Artemis walks in at exactly the wrong moment.“It was pretty amazing, I had no idea Morgan could get so hard or last for so long,”
>>3073487Well, now you're just curious. "Does M'gann have her own account?""Oh yes, she's got even more followers than I do. Take a look." She pulls up her page in a second and shows you. It's- It's actually exactly what you expected. Pretty much just what you'd expect from a teenage girl. Well, a human teenage girl. Various pictures of her in different outfits, places she's been. Using her powers in funny ways. Some commenters don't believe she's really Miss Martian. But she usually just responds with a bunch of those alien emojis. Typical Meg. "She's got a knack for fitting in, huh?""Her people are mind reading shape shifters. It'd be odd if she couldn't fit in, no?" She's got a point. In fact, you think she's the only shapeshifter out there that would flaunt the fact that she is one. Which brings up the uncomfortable thought of shapeshifters living among you. Ugh. Moving on."So was I thinkin', I'm already dressed for it. Wanna spar with live human?" You've never sparred with someone with super strength before, but it's just perfect for what you have in mind.Donna's face lights up at the suggestion. "Yes! It will be fun, and educational! Come, let us clear the ring." You drag off the training bot, which simply says 'rebooting' on it's display screen. And clear the way around the arena, just in case. Now that you think about it, this is a perfect opportunity to test your new hardening skill. "So Donna, I finally found a way to use my powers in a new way. And I wanna test it against you. While I'm using it, it's cool for you to not hold back strength wise. Goin up against people strong like you is kinda the point."She nods. "I thank you for your trust, go ahead. I will be sure not to over extend." Okay, it's time. Taking a deep breath, you do your usual things and allow your limbs to become more and more dense. But it continues up your body. Without your costume, you can see clearly as your arms slowly turn charcoal grey. And after several seconds your armored up.Donna assumes a fighting stance and so do you. >Roll 1d100

>>3075877No one even has announce the sparring match has begun, you both just dash at each other. Donna throws straight punches your way, probably probing your defense. Let's see how you hold up. Blocking with your forearm. The blows thud dully against your armored skin. You can feel the displaced air created by her punch. What's a whiff of air from a normal person is more like a stiff breeze with strength like hers.Lets see how hard you can hit back. You absorb a few more of her blow, then grab her right arm in a lock, aiming to throw a hook. Before you can connect, she hops up and delivers a swift kick to to your shoulder, forcing you to let go and making you stumble to the side. If you weren't so much heavier, that woulda sent you flying. But damn, Donna is quicker on her feet than you realized. Gonna have to remember that you're reaction time is lower too.Time to see how quick you can actually move. You go in low, aiming for body shots. You connect once, hitting Donna in the ribs, she winces but otherwise keeps up. Though she goes from blocking to redirecting your blows. And her style is pretty versatile. You're still pretty much all offense or all defense. After rolling away from your attempt at an arm-bar, Donna leaps back at you faster than you expected...>Roll 1d100+10

>>3076092Just because you know what's she's trying, doesn't mean you're gonna be able to react in time. You try to grab her leg but she spins into a grapple just as you get your footing. Twisting her legs around your shoulders and tossing you down to the ground. You land with a sort of loud thud that you're sure anyone else in the Tower heard. And Donna is back on her feet swiftly, rolling off of her back. Okay. That one probably hurt more than you're willing to admit. The armor on your arms has even started to crack from her repeated blows. Okay. If she wants to grapple. you can do that too! Rushing in, you surprise her and tackle, picking her up by the waste and going for a similar floor slam she just gave to you. but she forces her way out of your grasp and kicks off of your chest with both feet, making you slide back and giving her plenty of breathing room.Without thinking, you both rush each other down again. You lock hands, struggling for leverage in the center of the circle. Donna's definitely still stronger than you, but you've got better reach. Every time she's about to overpower you, you push her back just enough. C'mon, Barrett you can win this!>Roll 1d100-10

>>3076151Your struggle goes on for longer than you thought possible as you both strain against each other, but you make a slip. It's one of those where you know you've fucked up before you've even finished fucking up. You take a single step forward. Or try to, as you raise your leg, Donna seizes her opportunity and and wraps her own leg around yours, and leaps off of her remaining foot on the ground. Toppling you over. She pins the back of your hands to the floor and grins for her victory. "Ha! I think we can call that my win." Usually, it'd at least grate on you that you lost, but Donna is probably one of the best technical fighters you've seen aside from the vets like Batman. Losin' to her ain't so bad. Or at least the dumb smile on your face says so. "Okay okay, I yield!" Donna crawls off of you but you both stay on the floor. Breathing still ragged from your exertion. "So. What is with that fighting style? I felt like every time I got a read on you, you switched it up just enough to put me off."Donna thinks on it for a moment before relenting. "It's an amazonian fighting style. It's comprised of hundreds of years of martial knowledge. Amazonian warriors would add to it over and over again. So it's very diverse."So that's it. A style unique to the amazons. One built up over so many years of fighting, learning, and experimenting. "There must be a stupid amount to learn in that style.">Continued
>>3076204While you're still out of breath Donna is back to normal now. Wiping the sweat off with a towel. "Indeed. I'm only on the 53rd tier. Though the only first tiers I know of are Diana and her mother..." You must have a dumb look on your face because Donna moves quickly to clear things up. "Oh I did not mean to cause confusion! You must only know that she was born from clay, yes?""I mean, that's what she told the whole world in that address in Washington. Did she lie?" You still remember that day. You were pretty young. Dad seemed ecstatic about it but mom just seemed, troubled."Oh by the Gods, no. She would never. It's just not the entire story. She was molded by mother. Queen of The Amazons. Hippolyta." Donna says her name with something approaching real reverence in her voice. But if she's Queen of the Amazons you shouldn't be surprised. "In truth, it is she who allowed me to come to Man's World. She knew I stole the aircraft but she let me go anyway."She never mentioned this before. "I didn't know you guys weren't allowed to leave. I thought you just stayed to keep your secret intact.""No. The Queen decreed long before I was born. That Man's World is forbidden. She was the first to challenge that rule. Diana." She looks towards the door to the training floor. And when she sees no one is coming, she continues. "Can I ask you something Morgan? Do you think I'm wrong, trying to be like her? Sometimes I feel like it's an impossible feat. Doomed to fail. Or that I need to do something else. BE something else. What am I to do?">"Nothin' wrong with having a role model. >>3076676Well, Morgan's dad was more enthusiastic about them. He was an idealist at heart.Where as mom thinks they are important as they solve problems no one else can, but is also worried that they make things more complicated than they need to be. Kind of like the principle of, "Superhero attracts supervillain." Just not pants on head retarded like it's usually portrayed. She's just worried how having people like them around will change the world.

>>3076891That sounds reasonable enough, I suppose.
>>3076892That's heavy. You don't really know how that feels. Expectations, or feeling like you need to be a certain way. Mom and dad never made you feel that way. "Nothin' wrong with having a role model. But you should use Wonder Woman as inspiration instead of an exact blueprint. I'm doin' my best to learn everything Ted can teach me, but you don't see me dressing up as a cat." You pause. "Not that there's anything wrong with that..."She laughs, loud and brash. "Your honesty is refreshing. Though I must apologize. I did not mean to unload my feelings onto you. Though I've known most of team for a while now I still find it difficult to put these things into words. Thank you."Honestly, you don't feel like you did anything. But you guess all some people need is someone to listen. "Anytime. Although, I thought you and Roy were pretty tight.""Er, we are. He was probably the first person I could truly call my friend in Man's World. But he's been- distant. Lately. I can't ever seem to find him if we're not on mission, and if he's home at the Tower, he's sleeping off whatever he was up to. It's strange." Weird. "Does he seem out of it? Maybe he's just overworked. I know I've been feelin' stir crazy since I was benched. I've had the urge to just take off and patrol a few times."Donna thinks on it, and shakes her head. "No. If anything, he seems more focused. But we're just not talking like usual." She sighs. "I would just hope that he would trust me with it if he were in trouble."You're not sure what to say to that. It could be nothing. "Maybe he's just trying to improve with more experience in the field? That last mission hit us all in different ways."Doesn't seem like the possibility is making Donna feel any better. "Even so. We're supposed to share our troubles. That's part of being a team. Right?"Before you can answer. Something catches your eye in the large window panes of the room. You get off the ground and head over. It's snow. Funny. It's not even Halloween yet. Donna joins you by the window. A big smile on her face. You guess they don't get much snow on Themyscira. You just kind of forget about what you were talking about. Enjoying the new snowfall. You wonder if you'll see it Gotham too.You gotta get the shovels out.>End of SessionI'd like to go on a bit longer but I'm not gonna have time. As per usual. I'll be dropping in to answer questions and whatnot. Also, just to get a read on y'all. Who is best girl? Are you still waiting for her? What's her name, anon?
>>3077097Meg is a cute, but I like Donna too.
>>3077097thread reminder that we should look out for that 'traitor' or the person that changes.no clue on best girl, i really like artemis, but i would be ok with as a best friend and not a loverin general i am waiting and hoping we don't pin ourselfs down to hard
>>3077097Donna, and it's not even close
>>3077097Best Girl? That is contentious, and I’m not here to fuck vicariously through Morgan. Learned that lesson hard back in the days of Assorted Anime Quests and PPQ.Best girl for Morgan is not tge same as the one I’d waifu, just have fun getting there.
>>3077097>SpoilerOooof, why you gotta ask the hard questions, Sleepy?...I suppose I'm leaning towards Megan or Donna. Although I'm not too hung up on who Morgan ends up with.
>>3077097Currently ? Artemis. may change later
>>3077097For now Artemis due to chemistry and time spent togetherfor the future id like SuperGirl since most DC quest sadly don't last that long for her to appear
>>3077602Her huh? Y'know, she has been on my mind lately regarding future events.
>>3077602>>3077878Eh, I prefer Powergirl
>>3077097Meg a cute, but I'd say Artemis simply because of her chemistry with morgan
>>3077097Powergirl or Killer Frost. Though I wouldn't mind any unusual DC girl really.
>>3077097Another backstory question but how long was Morgan\s dad in the military, that is, how old was Morgan when his old man retired for good?
I have a worry about Morgan, either one of both of his parents were involved in the project that manufactured his metahuman status...or that he's the product of...
>>3077097Artemis was great for original Timeline and works well for this one too, but Babs works well as well.Supergirl I haven’t seen interact with him yet.
>>3078353if supergirl is as hot-headed as in the comics, morgan would be a calming influence, i could see them together
>>3078315Maybe Morgans dads death was meant to be the 'distress' that triggered his powers?
Man, someone always mentions Powergirl. I don't hate her or anything, and sure she's super hot but like, I just don't think she's all that interesting.Maybe I'm just weird.
She's good, just overrated because lolboobs.
>>3077878Personally I think we'd need to get to know the other girls before I can really say.
>>3079551The thing I've noticed about Power Girl is she's always brought up but no one ever goes for her.As far as I remember she's never really had a long term relationship in her books either.
>>3080742she seems interesting as a concept, but in person she is boring as fuck, not even her huge boobs help her in that
>>3080755I dunno she's carried her own (pretty well written) book before. I think given time to actually get to know the character she'd be more than a meme option.Whether there's any chemistry between PG as Sleepy writes her, and Morgan or not would be another matter entirely.
>>3080755>>3080764Hear me out, Powergirl is better with a sense of continuity. Imagine if we get COIE on DC’s CW TV and Melisa Benoist survives but is an outsider of the world reformed. Get the kid actress who they tap for tween/flashback Kara to be the newly arrived Kara Zor El of that combined Earth....And she transitions into finding her new identity.
>>3079551Sleepy, how long was Morgan's dad in the military? I asked this before but I'm curious about it.
>>3082501I haven't watched any of the CW stuff in a LONG time. what the hell does COIE mean?>>3082522Sorry! I forgot to answer you before. For over a decade. He went soon after high school was over. He joined up because he wanted to fight for people. He was the type that would do something because it needs doing, because most others wouldn't. He had a fruitful career until he left for reasons that I honestly I'm not sure if I went over yet. Sometimes these things blend together
>>3084529I think it was because he wanted to spend time with his family, It was in thread 2 IIRC
>>3084529COIE is Crisis on Infinite Earths
>>3086138NO SHITI feel like a real dum dum missing that one.
>>3086178Happens to everyone. Too many context specific acronyms across so many fandoms.
Hey! We're archived! Stay tuned on twitter as I'll be announcing the next thread there soon-ish.
>>3072516>Booster Gold? Though people call him a try hard all the time.Is Ted Kord still alive? I mostly ask because while "Rot in hell, Max." is the greatest dying line in comics, and while Ted's funeral (where Booster's narration boxes tear into the League for being a bunch of assholes who wouldn't give Ted the time of day when he was alive) is my single favorite Booster Gold moment ever, if we can save the old guy we really should.
>>3077097Timeline's wrong for either of my top two.Donna hasn't been around long enough to adopt the worst hero name ever and hand Wondergirl off to Cassandra...
>>3087654And Babs hasn't gotten Oracled yet, so I doubt we'll see Cassandra any time soon.I swear I don't have a fetish for the name Cassandra, it's pure coincidence.
