Things have gone out of control here and you need to do something quick before disaster strikes! You weren’t exactly sure what was going to happen when you agreed to help Mr. Ace Detective Richard raid T.T. Neko’s base. For being a valuable informant her location was easy to track down, a shitty ghetto apartment wasn’t what you expected this place to look like. Things so far have been consistently unspectacular when dealing with flame users, with Ka-Shing’s tower one of the few exceptions. One part of you knew these two would try to provoke each other. You never thought it would escalate this quickly and in this manner! What started as borderline sadistic banter coming from Richard to Neko, turned into the shocking revelation that the disgusting girl was present at the Arcade Bombing from weeks ago. The same bombing where Richard’s brother died, and the same one you decided to ignore to ditch your asshole ‘friends’. Also the not-so-shocking revelation that the known bad guys are, in fact, bad guys. Never trust a white flame, kids! Not only that, but Neko gave more grisly details about the death of Richard’s brother. She no longer regrets letting the poor kid die when she could have saved him. You know her emotions are doing most of the talking here to enrage the ace detective, on top of the sheer embarrassment Richard put her through.Even so… you cannot really discard the fact she could just be a despicable human being…Now Richard’s flame is going out of control as Neko continues to laugh maniacally. The screeching cackles echo inside the bathroom, and you try to ignore them to think of what to do!
>>2947414You need to stop the tension from rising further. As long as Richard isn’t possessed, things should be fine…>“The bad guys are bad? Truly shocking. Were you expecting any less from this, Mr. Ace Defective?” Pull out the sarcasm to alleviate the atmosphere. There’s nothing new here. She’s only voicing what you already suspected, hiding the real info you need!>“Emotions are running high right now, let’s all just calm down – we don’t want things to get ugly…” Vocalize your concerns! That might be a good wake-up call to the unstable detective. It’ll at least remind him that he’s not the only person here with a shitty backstory!>“You aren’t exactly acting like you’re proud about what you did, Neko. Someone who cares about cats as much as you do shouldn’t be all that bad.” Reason with the hysterical girl! Stopping her might calm Richard down too… Or at least make it easier for him to calm down…>“Richard, this is not worth getting in trouble for. Aren’t you already suspended? You know who to chase down now. This is enough. Let it go.” Reason with the furious law enforcer before he does something he’ll regret!>”You think Mickey would want his big brother to do something horrible? You think he’d be okay with someone being hurt or worse, just for his own sake? Richard!” He’s lost sight of his goal! Snap him back to his senses with the thought of his dead relative! Rolls are counted until 10 minutes have passed.
>>2947416Dice Mechanic (Up for Balance)We always roll 1d100s!I use the average (the mean) of the 4 best rolls plus a modifier depending on Johnny’s stats (Knowledge, Courage, etc.) for the quest. The degree of Success will be determined by the difficulty I specify for the action or prompt compared to the result. The stat-based modifier is based on the level of Johnny’s stats (+10 per level not counting the first one). If there are less than 4 rolls I’ll do the math with the ones I have. For example:>Johnny punches Howie! [Hard Roll][Athletic Based]Equation:(Roll 1 + Roll 2 + Roll 3 + Roll 4 + [Stat Based Modifier]) / (Number of Dices Rolled (Max. 4)) = Result!Rolling over a 95 is a critical strike and ignores the other rolls! In the same vein, rolling 5 or under means a critical failure (Only for hard rolls on)…The difficulty of the roll is tied with the effectiveness of the action, in other words, the harder the option the better the result for the fight!Don’t forget at the end of the day this is a Story-driven quest! So what the prompts are describing is more important than difficulty of the rolls are for the results in a fight. We will roll after the voting is done!

“You’re aren’t exactly acting like you’re proud about what you did, Neko. Someone who cares about cats as much as you do shouldn’t be all that bad.” You decide to reason with the hysterical girl.“You don’t know me, you mutt! Those flea catchers are n-no-nothing to me! And who the frick do you think you are?! You think you know me? You don’t, prick! YOU DON’T! DON’T! DON’T! DON’T!” She’s now screaming at you instead of Richard. Great. “Shut up! Enough of your screaming, you aggravating little ratchet.” Richard yells back, finally shutting up the deranged girl. She probably would have shut up earlier if she could see Richard’s flame getting bigger.“Frick off! Frick off! Shoot yourself then if you can’t do your job, you pansy! Pay a visit to your brother in hell and leave me be! DIE! DIE!” Neko’s yelling isn’t stopping. “You two, quiet down!” The best thing you could come up with was to clap as hard as you could. It works with kids, so why would it be any different with them when they’re acting like children! You are done with situation. This bait is the most obvious thing and Richard is falling for it so easily.“Neko… I’m wrong, I don’t think what I said before was right at all… You’re a NEET with the filthiest place I have ever seen in my life. And I’ll have you know I rescued three hobos in the last few months alone, and my worst has never been as nasty as this place…”“Y-You try to take care of so many cats and then we’ll talk…” Neko grumbles between her teeth. You wisely decide to ignore it.“You didn’t plan on running away without helping, did you? No, you’re just a coward. Spineless in everything you do that isn’t done behind a computer screen and multiple proxies, and somehow, I doubt you are capable of even that.” You took her down with the laziest tactic ever. Will it work? “Shut… up…” She’s crying again. Guess that means it worked!
>>2947818“And Richard, grow the fuck up and act like you know how to take some bait. For a callous asshole that laughs at other people's misery, you sure have a short fuse of your own.” You now change targets to this detective twat. “Look around you anyway. You think this is someone worth killing for running their mouth?” Richard’s flame is flickering more steadily. You don’t know if your words are having any significant effect since his expression of utter ire still remains. “What would your little brother say if he were here? Besides the obvious ‘who is that gross lady, why is she breathing so hard, what’s wrong with her hair, and why does she smell so bad?’ Wouldn’t he want you to do your best and help her, even if she didn’t deserve it?” Every little verbal dagger jab at Neko makes her whimper louder.Richard’s expression relaxes and he turns to you. For a moment, you think he’s done. “I agree… with Neko. I have no idea who the hell you think you are, saying this shit to my face. Helping this brat? You think my brother would have wanted that? Not only did you lose the plot, but you should start minding your own business and behave accordingly. Your dim-witted analysis can’t be more far-fetched and wrong. You know nothing.”“Behave accordingly? You’re the one who laughed at my mom being dead, remember? And you call yourself a ‘detective.’ You do that to everybody you talk to who has a family member die?” He works with the police! Doesn’t he have to interview victims or other traumatized people for cases? How is he supposed to be an ace detective if he acts like this to anybody suffering?!Richard smirks at you fearlessly, then turns and almost struts out of the room. “Do as you please Johnny. I’m leaving. I hope you continue living this fulfilling life of yours, Neko. I’m suuuuuure it’ll do you wonders.” You hear him chuckling before the front door opens and closes. He’s out of the picture now. You wonder what he’s planning. An apology would have been nice from him, but you should be happy things didn’t escalate any further. What do you do with this tied-up stray cat? >Wait for the bath squad to arrive. Might be good to stick around in case Neko isn’t fine.>Untie this girl! Time to get friendlier with her. >>2947821>Wait for the bath squad to arrive. Might be good to stick around in case Neko isn’t fine.Bath time and guard duty from edgy angel boy
You have no other option but to wait for the bath squad to arrive. Neko might need some help, though she doesn’t look like she wants to be helped. “W-what are you going to do with me? I’ll make you pay for all you did! Don’t forget it!” Neko still shows her claws at her most pathetic moments.“Right. I just want you to take a bath, remember?” You go back to cleaning the bathtub. You’re getting there, but there’s still some work to be done.“Wait, what do you mean by bath? You’re pervert! PERVERT! GET AWAY FROM ME!” Her screaming is always going to be aggravating. There’s no choice but to deal with it. “I’m sorry for all the stuff did, okay?! Just leave me alone!” “Can’t do that, sorry. I kinda want to make sure you’re going to be fine… or at least stop stinking so badly. How did you even end up like this?” What did she go through? Could it have something to do with her getting her own partner, or something else entirely?“Frick off! You assault me in my own apartment, treat me like garbage and humiliate me! I don’t want your pity or anything that has to do with you! You’re just a prick, and a cruel… prick…” Her continuous shouting slowly devolves back into sad whimpers of defeat. With no need to say anything else, you continue cleaning in silence. “She’s quite annoying. I almost understand why you helped the other girls. But I think this stray needs to be put down.” Philonune comments out of nowhere.“I know it ain’t looking too good right now, but damaged people act differently. I know she’s a good girl… very deep inside… under all the trash.” You thought-respond back.“I have no idea how you determine such things. I assume it’s possible in the same way the Creator’s slaves cannot see his true nature, but I can. We can. You must be right about this girl then.” Philonune almost sounds like he’s convincing himself…“Yeah, something like that. This is more of a hunch to be honest. Just based on what I already know from the others.” Helping Nariko, Yu Yan and Ajna opened your eyes to this sort of damage a person can end up with. “No good decision is committed to without a little hesitation. Though I have to say, Yomiel’s partner – what will his next step be? Will he rebel against the fake leader?” He’s referring to Richard. You don’t know him well enough to know his next move.“A part of me wants to believe he already knew about the white flames being implicated in this whole thing, deep down, and he just needed someone to confirm it to his face. He seems to be valuing revenge over everything else, so it could be anything.”“For all his faults, I don’t think that toaster-headed angel is the type who would backstab him. Yomiel has that sort of reliability to him. We should be cautious anyway; we don’t know yet where their alliance relies upon.” Philonune replies in a strangely nostalgic way
You will have to check on Richard later. Him turning against you could only mean trouble. He’s the only one aside from Neko who knows where Constance is. Your phone is starting to ring. It’s Amelia! She’s outside the building with the other girls! You open the apartment main door and quickly say hi to them.Amelia, Nariko and Yu Yan are ready to help! “So we have everything you wanted!” Amelia shows you the big bear bag on her back. “So what’s the plan? And more importantly, why is this happening?”“I want you to bathe T.T. Neko. Before we get into action I should warn you – this place is absolutely disgusting. Just keep that in mind.” You tell them as you peek out from the door.“Dear Ando, are you forgetting to tell us why you are helping this stranger?” Nariko wonders. The same reason you helped her long ago. Duh. “Pffft… How bad could it be?” Yu Yan opens the door fully wide and enters past you without hesitation! You see the understanding visibly dawn on her face. “What the fuck is this?! In the name of all that is holy what the fuck is that sme— BLAAARGH!” Oh god, Yu Yan puked on the floor in front of you! EUGH! EUGH!“What was that?!” T.T. Neko screams from the bathroom. “Are you okay?” You quickly check on Yu Yan. She’s looking pretty green! Isn’t she really smell-sensitive? She always talked about how nice you smell and stuff like that.“W-what the fuck… Oh god… I think I’m gonna puke again… What the fuck is this disgusting shit… Fuck… Get me out of here… Save me…” Her voice is barely audible. “Hang on Yu Yan.” You carefully carry Yu Yan outside. “Amelia, use your bear and take Yu Yan to the van. Keep an eye on her until she feels okay.”“O.K.!” Amelia brings her bear to the action!“Stop calling me a bear! I’m Saraswati the goddess of knowledge! Not a simple forest animal!” The bear is annoyed. Good for her! You put Yu Yan on the cloud, her eyes are barely open and she’s not looking too good. “Thank… you…” Yu Yan is dying in front of you. How pointlessly tragic. “We didn’t know each other for long… But you were like family to me. Even you, Nariko.”“Dear Yu Yan please don’t leave us! There are many things we have to do! Numerous places to go! And—”“Stop that, this isn’t a cheap drama!” Amelia gets annoyed the way you usually do, shutting their melodrama up instantly! Part of you feels a weird sense of pride. “Besides, we need to get her to the van already. The longer we spend talking, the worse she’ll get.”“Be careful with her. I know she likes to joke around but she’s in real pain.” You tell Amelia, who quickly nods and gives you a determined look. They slowly descend next to the emergency ladder previously mentioned before. Good thing no one’s looking this way to pay attention to the girls floating in the air! One of the perks of living in the ghetto parts of Pokyo Lokyo, you suppose. You’re left with Nariko to check on Neko. Hopefully she’s prepared to deal with what’s coming. “You can bathe the kitty girl by yourself, right?” Nariko did a wonderful job yesterday with Ajna, so you have complete faith in her.“Dear Ando, you still have not answered me as to why you are helping this stranger.”“From the kindness of my heart, like always…?” You scratch the back of your head. Nariko doesn’t seem convinced. “She could potentially be an useful ally, okay?” Just like with Henry!Perhaps the animosity between your sides was only circumstantial. Maybe you’re right and there’s more to Neko…! “That’s wishful thinking.”Nariko kills your wishful thinking ruthlessly! She definitely wouldn’t have helped herself if she found her hobo version in a parallel dimension.“Same wishful thinking that made us friends, you know?”“You were expecting something from me in that state?”“Not really… I just couldn’t leave you there.”
>>2948343“WHAT. WAS. THAT?! ANSWER ME! ANSWER ME!” It’s Neko yowling again. Oh boy. What will the neighbors think at this rate?Nariko gives you a ‘yeah, what were you saying?’ sort of skeptical look. “It’s going to get better… hopefully.” You give her a deflated shrug as you lead the way in.In the bathroom, Neko is cowering fearfully in a corner when the two of you arrive… “Hello, I’m—” Nariko tries to be polite but gets rudely interrupted by the cat-girl.“I know! Nariko Edamura, right? Did you gain weight or something? No offense, I’m sorry! I’m nervous! This prick! It’s all the fault of this prick and that disgusting detective Richard Wright! Just help me out, this bad intentioned pervert assaulted me and tied me up like an animal! I can help you find the Crystals, just –” Her shameless groveling is even more rudely interrupted by your rich hobo!“Dear Ando is no pervert, and I would strongly prefer if you never call him one again. He’s one of most upstanding and kind men I have ever met.” Nariko looks indignant. Seeing her like this is a lot cooler than you expected! Neko herself looks like someone smacked her in the face full-force. “Why are you freaks like this? Haven’t you humiliated me enough? Just leave me alone, I beg you again… I don’t deserve this.” She’s trembling again and is now asking you directly. “Ack, ack, ack, ack… You want money? I can give you money! Monthly payments so you don’t get rid of me! Please… What do you want from me?”“To take a bath. Duh.”Nariko walks up to Neko and strokes her face, wiping the few tears that remain. “Honestly, you’re quite dirty. Let me help... Where are your clean clothes?” Clean clothes? In here? HA!“Don’t touch me! Don’t touch me… I don’t deserve this.” T.T. Neko starts bawling again, squirming in her corner.“It’s just a bath, that’s it...” Your explaining continues falling of deaf ears. You feel like you’re wasting your breath at this point. Neko trembles in place, waiting for the other shoe to drop. It’s finally time for her to get a bath, right? Bath or no bath? “She’s all yours Nariko. I’ll clean up the rest of the place in the meantime and you-know-who’s mess.” You trust your OG hobo for this.“Try to find any clean clothes for her, because the rags she’s wearing are just… inadequate.” Nariko stares at Neko’s clothes with pure disdain. Why does she keep calling other people’s clothes ‘rags?’ Is it a holdover from her original self as a rich bitch? You try to pull off your best salesman impression for this next part.“Hey while Nariko here is helping you bathe, I will be cleaning your home for free! You’re in luck, miss! Normally I charge 300 Gor$ for such horrible cases like your disgusting hovel here! And if you trouble Nariko at all while you bathe, I’ll call in ‘Rise’ to help her. And you know what THAT means!”“R-R-R-Rise…?! The Rise…?! That psychopath?! I thought she was dead! OMG, OMG…” Neko is trembling out of control. She’s been doing that a lot lately hasn’t she?“Yeah yeah, that one! She’s a nice girl now, so don’t worry. By the time we’re done with you you’ll be best in show!” You smile and give her a thumbs up. “I’m gonna die…”“You’re going to be fine, I promise. You will still have to behave though. I will not tolerate rudeness, insubordination, or needless defiance.” Nariko says as she starts preparing the bathtub. “After this you are going to be rewarded with Johnny’s excellent cuisine. Positively divine I’ll have you know…”Neko just whimpers. You leave the girls alone and go to your next task. Time to put your janitor skills to the test yet again! Practical skills like this are, well, practical! Thanks Doc Calamity!Amelia left her bear bag at the door with everything you need! It’s time for take two of this cleaning exercise miracle! Make no mistake, this is a real bona-fide miracle you are performing. So many dirty clothes and other belongings you will have to get rid of – they are not useful, at least by normal standards. Some of the figurines are pretty expensive, too bad they are in this sorry state. Maybe, just maybe, you should take them to an expert to see if they can be salvageable? Someone you know probably knows a guy who does figurine work somewhere. Pokyo Lokyo is a city of millions after all! Good thing Yu Yan’s puke was mostly water. Still disgusting as hell, but nothing these heavy duty cleaning supplies won’t fix! Now you know a way to tease Yu Yan if she gets too annoying in the future. Could a soothing smell help her sleep at night? You should keep that in mind…
>>2948620Still not done with the cleaning, you remember something important you need to tell what’s left of the bath squad: “Hey Nariko, you dummy! You forgot I asked Amelia to bring spare clothes.” You knock on the bathroom door with the deceptively heavy bear bag in hand.“Dear Ando, thank you.” Nariko opens the door and grabs the bear bag from you. You can’t notice much from how narrow the doorway opening is, but you do notice something odd Nariko is holding. The image of it brings up thoughts wildly inappropriate for giving someone a bath.“What’s up with the chain…?”“Oh, this is my ability. I’ll explain later, it’s just to make sure she doesn’t get too violent.”“Alright, it’s your call…” The fuck? Has Nariko always been secretly into kinky BDSM-tier shit? You have so many questions, not enough answers. Best to put the thoughts away and leave the worrying to later. The Creator is nothing compared to you, as you somehow make the phrase ‘cleanliness is next to godliness’ a reality within an hour! Not even God could do better than this! The only downside is you had to get rid of most of the things. Neko’s loss, really. Even after overcoming this titanic task, Nariko is still not done with the cat girl.
>>2948624Suddenly the door slowly opens, a bunch of steam comes out, and you start distinguishing the figure of the once-nasty NEET. She looks nicer but not too different from before. She also smells way better! “Dear Ando, you did a wonderful job!” Nariko is impressed with your cleaning abilities.“The same goes to you, Nariko.” You both show due respect to each other. “How are you feeling now, Neko?”She stands perfectly still. “I don’t understand what’s going on anymore.” Yup. Dead inside.“H-How is the place looking for you now? Neko words come out meekly. “Are you mocking me? Is this funny to you?”“We just wanted to help. I have no idea why though…” Nariko looks at you. You shrug.“I can’t take this anymore… It hurts… I want to be alone. Please.” Neko’s empty words and empty eyes are starting to bother you. Is her will dead? “So… What do you want to eat?” You change topics completely! A complete change of environment is needed here. Maybe there’s hope of getting her out of here for half an hour?Neko stands still without muttering a single word.“Hey I’m talking to you! I may not be as great as Nariko puts it, but I can get the job done. I’m gonna ask again. What do you want to eat?” “Dear Ando, pardon the interruption – I think we’re overstaying our welcome here.” Nariko doesn’t think this is going to progress. You’re uninvited guests, that boat sailed a long time ago.“She’s going to fall in the same unhealthy spiral if we leave her now…” The only way out is through! “I’m completely defenseless, I can’t bring Bastet out, I’m as good as dead, and you keep toying with me. I can’t keep going anymore. I don’t want to keep going anymore.” Those are Neko’s defeated words. Is Bastet supposed to be her partner? Sounds foreign. What did you have mind? Her fridge isn’t completely empty, is it?”“Something healthy?” You expected Neko to respond to having her fridge quality questioned. “I’ll check it out.”T.T. Neko keeps standing there lifeless. How long is she going to stay this mindbroken? You didn’t find much in the kitchen. At all. Nariko went on her own to call the rest of the bath squad for supplies while you cleaned up more. After a quick call, Nariko informs you that your sister is on the case! She also mentions Amelia took Yu Yan back home after the incident. Last she saw, Yu Yan was resting on your bed.Resting? Like sleeping? Fantastic. You really needed Yu Yan to have another nightmare on top of the smell trauma from before, didn’t you? Something to look forward to whenever you get back home… In the meantime you prepared everything on the table and cleaned up the rest of the stuff in the kitchen. All ready to cook, you just need the ingredients.
>>2950681Soon after, your sister appeared with more supplies! The bear bag is loaded enough to be especially menacing… “Sorry if it isn’t enough, I don’t have much money on me.”“Don’t worry about that, I’ll pay you back later.” What, that’s what she’s worried about? You have 25K! The cost of these groceries are pocket change compared to your wallet’s pockets!Hmm… These don’t look too healthy though. Amelia must have gone to the closest grocery store to save time, most likely a ghetto one with bad quality goods. At least she picked out reasonably okay ones…Hang on, what happened to…?“Ehm… Did you go alone? What happened to Bradford?” He was outside this whole time wasn’t he?Your sister avoids your gaze. “I, uh, didn’t see Bradford anywhere… The van was empty when we got there before. I had to call a taxi to get Yu Yan home. The van was gone when I got back.”Amelia, what the hell were you doing?!“You should have told us, Ame.” The van is gone?! Did Bradford ditch you? Perhaps it has to do something with Richard? But then why did he disappear the first time without taking the van with him? “Great. Another thing I have to keep in mind for later…” This is getting irritating! You deal with one person then somebody else’s problem comes up!“Remember to pack some leftovers for Yu Yan now that you are making a list!” Amelia mentions to you, unaware of how annoyed you’re getting. “Woah! This place looks completely different!”“Amelia help me with the table. We will have to improvise some chairs too.” Nariko looks around the apartment disapprovingly. You started cooking a few minutes later; everyone at the table is incredibly uncomfortable while they wait for your food.Expecting any of these three girls to break the ice on their own is wishful thinking, and not the helpful kind. You take a deep breath to calm yourself, trying to focus on getting this food done well. There’s a lot of problems in your life, and you have deal with them one at a time or you’ll go insane. You can’t let your mounting stress show to the others who rely on you.
>>2950687“Neko, look, all the flame users have one thing in common: extreme depression. No one deserves that shit, so when I find a flame person, I try to help. Even if some want to be absolute shits.” You tell the mentally disturbed woman.“Sometimes I don’t get it myself, but everything ends up being O.K. for the most part.” Amelia adds on. "Maybe some of the older flame users are too stuck in their ways to really change, but I really think all most people our age really need is a helping hand and someone to talk to." You say, remembering most of the cases where things with flame users went horribly wrong.“We won’t judge you. We all have something we wish to forget here. We wouldn’t be here otherwise. It’s something we are learning to accept in the meantime.” Nariko gives Neko a charming smile! “It isn’t easy, and I doubt you ever had it easy.” “You broke into my apartment and now you pretend to be nice? You’re still making absolutely no sense.” Neko is deeply confused, that hasn’t changed. “I don’t want play along with your sick games. But I have no other choice; I’m powerless.” Amelia and Nariko share a look at this. You bring the food to the table and serve the broken girl a plate along with Amelia and Nariko. “Here, eat some.” Enough talk! Your culinary skills and effort will speak in your place! Everyone is staring at Neko attentively. The cat girl slowly grabs her fork and plays with her food, reminding you of Yu Yan. A good half-minute later, she finally takes a bite and chews very slowly – then after a few seconds the same piece of food starts slowly coming out of her mouth and plops on the plate. Nariko gasps dramatically as Amelia covers her mouth to shut her up, eyes equally wide in shock. “…You didn’t like it?” That’s a first. Wow. T.T. Neko rotates her head to you at a snail’s pace, almost like she was in a trance. Her eyes stare deep into yours, unreadable. Only five words come out of her mouth: “I hope you die.” … … >“That’s not a nice thing to say to someone who wants to help…” It’s a weak retort, but you’re too caught off-guard to say more.>“A coward who doesn’t want help herself? Shame. After all we did for you too…” Be honest! Manipulative, but honest!>“I guess that’s a no? What was so bad about it? Could you tell me?” Maybe she has good advice for you to better your food?>”I guess I shouldn’t have expected a shut-in who only eats delivery and cat food to have any sense of taste.” >“Nariko. Amelia. You deal with her. I’m going back home.” Leave this hell and go back home to Yu Yan! You did what you could!>“Nariko. Amelia. You deal with her. You look at the other two. Amelia looks really mad while Nariko looks worried. You get next to the cat girl and boop her on the forehead! Cats show their dominance to each other, don’t they? She grits her teeth, giving you the opening to start talking: “Nariko, Amelia. Thanks for everything; I’m sorry I dragged you here to help with this. But I’ll deal with her alone now.”“I’m sorry, Johnny, but I can’t let you do that. I don’t trust her at all.” Amelia is against it!“Believe in me, I have a plan.” You find the spray bottle you used to clean up this place and show it to Amelia. “Amelia, I think Johnny can handle it. Let’s go, the short one perhaps needs our assistance back at the residence.” Nariko stands up. She really trusts you, for better or worse. “Neko, I hope you find reason.”“Grab some food for dinner in case I can’t make it in time.”“With pleasure.” Nariko can’t hide her happiness. She gets to be the one picking out the food this time! “Fine. Call me if anything happens.” After a good minute of deep reflection, Amelia agrees to leave. She gives a sharp withering glare to Neko before leaving. Both of them leave putting all their trust on you! Amelia took one of the bear bags, so you have to take the other one back yourself. These silly things won’t look good on you, but they sure can hold a lot of stuff! Fuck, it’s almost 7:00 PM now… You spent almost three hours here… If anything bad happens here, their trust in you will be shaken for good…You fill the spray bottle with water, serve yourself a plate, and sit at the table with T.T. Neko. You put the spray bottle next to your plate and start enjoying yourself with the dinner you prepared. It’s as amazing as you always make it! T.T. Neko hasn’t moved since wishing you dead, she just stares at your every movement, breathing heavily. This is incredibly awkward. “What’s the meaning of this?” Surprisingly Neko is the one breaking the ice.“We’re enjoying dinner together.” You explain to her in-between forkfuls. She’s not eating though.“Nobody is here anymore, right…?” Her breathing gets heavier, her eyes open wide – you feel excitement coming from her.“Yup, just the two of us.” You keep eating no problem. No reason to be anxious about anything. “Now please eat, the food is already getting cold.” She slams a hand on the table, shaking the plates. “Give me one good reason right now why I shouldn’t do what we both know I want to do.” Her voice is perfectly even and controlled, just like yours has been so far. You’re no psychic, but your instincts are crying out warnings at you…!

“Go ahead. Do it. I won’t retaliate.” What a risky move… …So risky that it earns you +2 Courage points! Unless this goes well, they’ll probably get renamed to Stupidity points. “Partner, be careful.” Philonune injects his line, giving you a sea of doubts for a millisecond. T.T. Neko stands up, trembling in excitement. The psychotic phase of a deranged girl ready to get her due, her just reward. Her eyes don’t leave you, not for one second, with her breathing getting faster – almost hyperventilating. “You understand what you just said, right?! You understand I’m not playing games?!”“I want you to trust me. I’m sorry about what I did. So do what you have to do.”“Y-you have any idea what you made me go through?! You understand what you did?! There are consequences and you will meet them!” Her flame grows in size… “I already know that. This isn’t my first time you know.” You continue eating, but slowly you’re thinking this is a bad idea. “At least you had dinner with me first.” You give Neko a knowing smile, hiding your nervous tension.Neko blinks a few times then her face goes full tomato red for fifteen seconds, realizing exactly what you’re implying. This doesn’t last long. “Bastet!” The quirky-looking entity appears next to Neko after she quickly touches her flaming ankle. “HeheHEhehehe…” She’s laughing. “I knew you were stupid, but not this stupid! Kid, you’ve just won a ticket straight to hell, courtesy of my claws!” The least intimidating monster since Amelia’s shows you its claws. The fingers start out like rectangle-shaped blocks but end in jagged hook-like claws. They look awfully sharp… “W-what was your name again? I don’t want to call you prick no more…” The way Neko asks this sounds almost reverent. Guess you earned her respect by being nigh-suicidal. There’s probably a joke in here somewhere, but now is not the time for jokes anymore.“Johnny.” You stare at her dead in the eyes, perfectly serene. “Haha! I waited so long for this! DIE!” The creature exclaims in pure rage.“Well then, Johnny… Your sick game ends here and now! DIEEEEEEEE!” Neko’s grins from ear to ear! And both of them jump on you. “Believe in me, I have a plan.”His words echo inside your head. But you cannot help feeling a creeping doubt. That girl… “Amelia, what’s the matter? Not feeling alright? Did the smell from the hovel affect you badly?” You’re close to boarding the subway train back home. But there is something off. Same feeling you have whenever he does something stupid.“Nariko, I have a bad feeling about this. I can’t let him be there alone.”“We need to trust in Johnny, how many times he has disappointed us?”“More times lately than ever before…”Enough of this! You can’t handle the anxiety any longer!“Screw it! I’m going back! At least he won’t be mad if I wait outside! You check on Yu Yan! Alright?” You turn and start running for the station stairs to get back to Neko’s awful ghetto apartment.“Amelia, wait! What will he think if we disobey him?”“Who cares?! He acts like a dummy sometimes too! Get home safe! I’ll call if anything happens!” You yell back up the stairs as you go fast as you can without falling down. Other people give you weird looks as you go, but it doesn’t matter! Your brother’s life is at stake! That lunatic is different than every other person he’s ever helped! There is no doubt in your mind this is going to end badly – something about her eyes and the way she treated you. Johnny is getting more reckless and reckless thanks to his partner; you need to put this to a stop before it gets worse! “No time to lose Amelia. Summon me. You will not return in time without flight.” Saraswati calls for action!“Y-You think she’s dangerous too…?” You say as you invoke the cutest entity ever! One of the best friends you’ve ever had!“There is something else that’s unsettling me as well. That fat oaf and the detective being missing is too much. I don’t think Johnny can handle all of it, whatever is to come.”“A-alright! Let’s move fast!”
>>2951489You fly at moderate speed to the rescue…! Not too far from the ground, it’s like skating but safer and with a cute bear! Well, it’s a rescue if your instincts are correct anyway, or else this is going to be incredibly awkward for everyone. Uhm… you don’t want Johnny to get mad at you again… You’re getting closer! You just need to – ugh!Someone grabbed you by the back of your t-shirt to interrupt your flight! You were too dumb to even notice in time! You’re being suspended awkwardly in the air like some kind of ugly cat! It was so sudden Saraswati went back to flame form! You flail your arms around to get this person off, but it’s useless! “Ehem…” It’s one big dude who grabbed you! Wait! He’s no ordinary big dude! He’s the guy from Matilda’s picture, the same man that almost killed everyone including Johnny! Flint Waterson! Grrrr…! “Hey don’t show me your teeth. It’s cute and all, but you really gotta stop that.”“Let me go! My brother is in danger!”“You were just flying with a goddamn plushy bear in front of you. Explain what’s going on and I’ll think about it. You have one of those ghosts too, don’t you?” Flint wonders as he inspects you like a wild animal he just captured off the street! You’re no wild animal! …Except for that second part. You don’t like this guy one bit! Nu-uh! He’s a big violent dummy! And you need to move fast!“Plushy bear?! I’m a real bear! His grip on your shirt isn’t letting up!“Hey, what are you doing to that girl?!” A valiant hot dog vendor appears! “Oh it’s you, nevermind.” He mumbles as he leaves the moment he notices Flint! What the poop was that?! Coward, coward! “Please help me! He wasn’t expecting this bear to show her teeth! You bite one of his fingers! “Motherfuck—!” He screams out as he lets you go! You expertly land back on the sidewalk and invoke Saraswati in one swift move, using the hand already near your foot from the landing for an easy summon! You fly away as quickly as you can! You will have to circumvent the area to lose him. Even though he’s probably going to get busy with the decent crowd gathering from the noise, it pays to be careful. “Good job, Amelia. I’m beary proud you followed my instructions!” Saraswati pats you on the back! “Wait, beary?! No! Stupid custom form…!”“I wish we could just get there faster…” You can’t risk Waterson following you though.“Safety first. Your brother values his little in comparison to how greatly he values yours.” Saraswati reminds you in that wise voice of hers. “We can go upwards around here to save some time.” You follow your bear’s lead and the apartment is in your sights, just a few minutes away! Wait, what’s that over there? That’s Osgood’s van! What is it doing there?! It’s in the same place it was the first time. Johnny told you he came here with Bradford and Richard in it. Perhaps your bad feeling has something to do with it? Your eyes caught something else! From another building you hear a familiar-sounding scream…You’re too unsettled and hasty to really distinguish that voice! One thing‘s for sure though: whoever that is, that ain’t Johnny! “Do not lose sight. We need to back up the fallen angel and your brother. Everything else can and will wait.” Saraswati orders you.

We haven’t tested how far we can be apart from each other either.”“Just a quick check that’s all! No matter what you see, information is key, isn’t it? Let’s not waste any more time!” Saraswati flies you down to street level next to the apartment complex, a few feet away and three stories down from the where your brother is. Saraswati flies away at max speed as you run up the stairs. You’re starting to feel a little lightheaded… Doesn’t matter! Your bad omen is getting worse and worse each passing second! You’re right at the apartment door! Just before you reach for the doorknob, you hear Saraswati’s voice in your head.“Amelia. I see the giant masked fighter from the last two times in a struggle against multiple men in a nearby alley. The men he’s fighting are wearing cloaks. I repeat, the men he is fighting are wearing cloaks! …Wait, not all of them are! Entities are fighting on both sides! The muscled oaf is barely holding up! Also a group of officers are coming the other way to interfere! The fat artist is on the ground; his whole body is covered in blood! He could be dead.”“D-dead!?” She must be joking!“Call me back before they spot me!” You do very quickly. The light headache is gone, but you feel like you are going to puke – something close to when Johnny took Nina’s flame and yours and brought them close together to test what would happen. Eugh, remembering that makes you dizzy. “Is he really dead?!” Oh no…!“I’m not sure. He didn’t seem like he was breathing. Might simply be unconscious. I doubt he’s the type to meditate in the middle of a battlefield… I knew a few other gods who did that…” Saraswati explains, trailing off. You need to calm down…You take a deep breath and start dialing his number. “H-hello? Amelia? He knows he’s in no condition to fight at all, and neither are you. “Are you fucking stupid?” You’d have a better question if you didn’t have this headache. Trent just laughs in your face again. “Just bored sitting around here with the cute mummy. Now get your ass moving…” He turns around and almost struts out the door, not even stopping for you!“…Where are we going anyway?” He’s leading the way to who knows where!Fuck it! It’s for Bradford, Johnny and Amelia. “Hold up! Let me make some calls first…”(Extra update. No need for votes here!)
>>2953716Sweet, we made the good choice.
>>2953716Fuck yeah, Trent!
>>2953714What's heroic about telling a mentally unstable chick to attack us and then letting her do it? What was the point of that? Putting Amelia and the other people close to us through this shit again is inexcusable at this point.
>>2953735I actually agree. This is what, the third time we've pulled this shit and got severely injured? Nobody is gonna trust us to wipe our own ass at this point.

You don't vote on the quest posts or do anything constructive but bitch about things not going your way. I bet you're actually a fucking samefag too. Either do something useful and vote on posts, or shitpost somewhere else like /qtg/
>>2953772I don't know what you're talking about, but you're ignoring my point and attacking me and some other guy instead because I'm right which isn't "useful" either.

I'd vote more in the threads if I could ever get here on time for it to matter. “I will never forgive you.”You look at her as hard as you can and hope she chokes on cat food, but she’s not the important one here. You rush over to where Johnny is as fast as you can. How do you stop bleeding again? Pressure?“Aagh!” Neko just whimpers in fear. She’s in a complete state of shock and deserves every second of it. You hope she wets herself. “Amelia, follow my instructions carefully. First invoke me and bring me a towel. These paws can work a miracle, believe in me.” You invoke Saraswati immediately; she starts checking on Johnny while you bring her a towel from the bathroom. All the cleaning supplies are still here next to the empty wet bathtub. No matter how much your brother can give that girl a bath, it won’t be enough to clean her of what she did to him. Never. When you get back to the living room, you see your cute bear putting pressure on the wound. “He’s alive.” The bear proclaims those beautiful words, music to your ears!“Don’t know for how much longer though.” And there’s the record scratch. “Y-you have one of them too…? I-I tho-thought you were bluffing.” Neko stammers out with that disgusting mouth of hers.“Quiet.” You hiss out without thinking. Out of the corner of your eye you can see Neko’s face go pale. Even though your hands are still shaking, you manage to take your phone out and dial the correct number. You even manage to talk to the nice lady on the other end without crying or sobbing once! The ambulance is coming! Hopefully it doesn’t get distracted thanks to the fight happening close by… You finally have some time to cry next to your beloved brother. You know he can pull through this! He’s done it before! He always does! And it never stops hurting when he does this… Mom, please help Johnny. But something is still off here… “I wouldn’t do that if I were you.” You sense Neko getting closer to you from behind. “Unlike my brother, I won’t hesitate to hurt you.”“I just want to a-a-apologize again… I-I’m so-sorry… I didn’t want this to happen, but you need to understand what he—”“Stop. Don’t open your mouth again. The only reason I haven’t done what I should have done it’s because my brother saw something in you.” You stand, turn around, and stare dead in those coward eyes of hers.“But I don’t see anything at all.” Neko backs away from you to her shoes and puts a pair on. She doesn’t turn away from you, but her eyes keep going to her broken door and the pieces of it you left on the ground. She’s going to cut and run… Do you stop her? >Let her leave.>Stop her.>Write In.

Neko slowly starts walking towards the doorway, trying to not make a sound. She must think you are an idiot or something for trying to do something like this. You just stare at her the whole time, watching her every move, her every rotten inch such a vile waste of space you would throw up like Yu Yan if you had the stomach for it.Neko finally realizes you have been staring at her the whole time the moment she reaches the way out. “I… Uhm… You see…” She tries to say something stupid. You interrupt her because you’ve heard enough stupid things from her hole.“Coward.” She freezes up completely, stares down at her bloody hands and closes her eyes once again. Then she looks back up at you. Her eyes contain no more willpower – only empty voids of darkness like the rest of her. “He told me the exact same thing…” She moves those sockets to look at your brother. You scoff at her. “So are you?”“How is it possible not to be one? I hear everyone, I know everything! I know whose warm smiles are fake. I know who are willing to stab their friends in the back. I know who did what, how, and why. I know everyone out there is ready to get me because I know their secrets. The things they bury, put rugs over, lock in closets and pretend don’t exist. I know the truth! I can’t leave, I can’t sleep, I can’t do anything anymore except live in fear – or else I’ll die…”Excuses excuses excuses. “And you still stabbed the one person who wasn’t going to hurt you. You know nothing.”“He attacked me! He made fun of me! He made me play along with his sick twisted games…!” She’s still justifying herself. Running away. “But still… I realized too late that I didn’t want to hurt him. I’m sorry… I wish him the best… Goodbye.” Neko is about to cross the door.“Empty meaningless words.” Saraswati didn’t hold her words this time. She usually doesn’t anyway. “Just saying sorry isn’t going to change anything. Words can’t change rivers. That’s the easy way out. The cowardly way out.” You hear the ambulance siren getting closer. Help is arriving! “There isn’t much time left. Show us your repentance, or drown in your own sins and impurity.” T.T. Neko stares at Saraswati, then at the door, then at Johnny. She closes her eyes, grits her teeth, and makes her ultimate decision… “Human garbage…” You mutter under your breath as you’re left alone with Saraswati and Johnny. You should have stopped her. Oh well.
>>2953996“Quick judgments are ill-advised, my dear apprentice…” Saraswati murmurs to you. You feel a lot calmer now. Down outside the building, you hear T.T. Neko screaming instructions at the poor paramedics to get to her fourth-floor apartment. Even from this distance, her voice is super irritating. Was Johnny correct? Is this how T.T. Neko wants to atone for her mistakes? Is she planning to run later? You don’t know, and right now you don’t want to know… From this point on, Amelia won’t be joining the battle happening elsewhere – she is going to be too busy handling Johnny alongside the paramedics. Who do you want to play as now? (Choose one.) >Osgood.>Richard.>Nariko.>Completely new character.>Surprise/unexpected character.(Last reply of the day, we end the thread tomorrow!)

This is a discussion and nothing will cha fe if you keep dismissing what he says out of hand because you don't like it or don't want to admit you made a mistake. As for your 'vote tehn' retort, I would like to introduce you to this wild concept called timezones.
If you look at it, the real problem was helping Richard interrogate instead of trying to meditate from the start.Turns out pissing off an possibly unstable person is not a good idea.
[Meanwhile with Osgood inside an armored van driving to the fight…] “Thinking about chickening out? Too late now, boy!” Trent grins the same smug smile.“You don’t know how much I put on the line for this…” Osgood still looks worried. He made a contract with Constance and Athelone for a better chance at…“So lemme get this straight. The fatso is dying in some shitty side street for no good reason? Feels out of character to me.” Sewel chuckles as he’s driving. The ex-mafioso is lending a hand to the group.“He’s friends with WILDFLAME, and you know how stupid he is when it’s about shit like that…” Osgood responds. “Dear Ando is in peril right now, and I’m wasting my precious time bantering with you uncouth brutes. I do not approve of this.” Nariko looks extremely disgusted and offended at the same time, hiding her worries.“Who’s this again? Is she Johnny’s bitch or something?” Trent asks Osgood out loud to make sure Nariko hears him. Sewel bursts in laughter alongside Trent.“You speak to me like that again and I’m breaking your neck.” Nariko is not playing games. Trent just starts laughing harder. They seem to be enjoying this a bit too much. Osgood groans, rubbing his forehead. “Can anyone here take this seriously? Come on…”“Pardon me. It’s not like I don’t value your obese friend’s life or anything – my mind is simply elsewhere at the moment.” Nariko apologizes. “I-I just want to see him.”“I get it, I’m worried too. This is a short mission anyway. We get in, take them out, leave. Quick and easy.” “No Crimzone… Strange.” Nariko peeks from the window as Sewel parks the car nearby. A small part of the side street is visible, but no bodies on the ground can be seen from the main road.“Better for us. Now everyone get ready.” Osgood snaps out of it. “Remember, more reinforcements are coming too.”“Yeah yeah, I’m just driving anyway. Make sure to bring yer boyfriend alive, okay?” Sewel mocks Osgood.“Time to fuck shit up! HAHAHAHA!” Trent is ready to beat people up! Hopefully things go well for them on their end…
>>2955396[Meanwhile with Amelia…] The paramedics are carting Johnny into the New Calamity Clinic. Amelia and T.T. Neko are trailing behind them… “Now what’ve you got yourself into, darling…?” Kata sighs and looks disappointed at Johnny as she opens the double-doors for everyone to enter.“We need blood transfusions for the kid. We’re still unsure about what happened to him, but he has some deep wounds. He will require surgery too. It’s pretty bad…” One of the paramedics tells Katastrophe promptly as they continue walking to the surgery room.“I’m on it.” They enter the surgery room, leaving Amelia and T.T. Neko behind… “Amelia! What happened?” It’s Uccelli! She’s running towards them in a hospital gown.“I-It’s Johnny… He’s… He’s…” Amelia bursts into tears as the school teacher hugs her.“There… There… Kata knows what she’s doing. Johnny is going to be fine.” Nina is trying to remain calm. Amelia continues bawling her heart out into Nina’s chest. T.T. Neko just stares at both of them without muttering a single word, standing off to the side a little far from them. Gradually, step by step, she’s walking backwards to the walls. She knows exactly what she did.
>>2955400“So… Did you enjoy it?” Yu Yan appears next to T.T. Neko, taking her by surprise. Yu Yan watches Amelia and Uccelli having their moment, not even bothering to turn to Neko.“W-what…?!”“Don’t what me. Did you enjoy it or not?” Yu Yan says to the air without looking at the cat girl, her tone like the one she’d use to ask Johnny for more spaghetti. “You can trust me.” “Who are you?”“Name’s Yu Yan. So? Did ya?”“Enjoy what…?” Neko is getting anxious. Who is this girl?“You know what. Don’t play dumb with me.” Yu Yan’s smile doesn’t change. “I don’t know what you a—” T.T. Neko tries to say, but Yu Yan grabs her hair and pulls her back, putting her face at Yu Yan’s eye level. The move is so sudden and vicious Neko almost thinks her hair will tear out.“You know what you did. Now answer the question.” Yu Yan voice goes lower and more menacing.“I didn’t, I’m sorry about what I did!” Neko responds quickly, trembling like the coward she is. “…Oh, then maybe we could be friends.” Yu Yan says, then frees Neko and walks towards the girls. “Just don’t do it again. Or else.”“R-right…” T.T. Neko leans against the wall and slides down to the floor, trying to breathe and calm down. She didn’t know at that moment, but she just met the Rise she feared most.
>>2955402Uccelli brings Amelia to a chair in the waiting room. Amelia is still having a hard time… “C’mon, Ames! You’re going to make me cry too.” Yu Yan tries to joke around. It doesn’t work.“Y-You didn’t see it… There was so much blood…” Amelia is struggling to speak words without choking up.“We’re putting that boy on a leash from now on, okay?” Yu Yan jokes again. It still doesn’t work.“He always stands up in the end… This time won’t be any different.” Nina tries to cheer up the little sister. It continues to not work. “Don’t worry, little girl. I’m on the case too. I’ll bring back Johnny to the living – HhahAHhahHAHAHa.” Dr. Calamity appears from one end of the hallway, ready for action! He slowly walks with a cane towards the surgery room. What he will do is unknown to everyone. But for some reason, everyone feels calmer… Almost soothed…
>>2955404[Meanwhile with Johnny…] You can’t believe the bitch attacked you! She actually took you seriously! You should have made her wear the dress you bought her! Being petty aside, you royally fucked up. Hold on a second, this isn’t your dreams! This is the Bridge Between Worlds! Or was it the Distant Frontier…? Who cares about names at this point!? At least you aren’t dead. “Partner, from this point onwards, I’m going to start questioning your methods more.” Philonune says, deadpan.“Yeah, I screwed up big time. I should have made someone else handle it. Next time though, I think—”“I have my doubts we’re going to have another chance, Johnny.” Philonune cuts you off. “That’s where you are wrong, fallen angel.” It’s Athelone! Thank god she’s here, somewhere else! But here! This is confusing…“Hi Johnny!” Little Constance is with her too! “Uhm…” She looks uncomfortable for some reason. What? Is there something on your face?“So you two saved me? Thanks.” You say naïvely. “Not exactly… Look down below, darling.” Athelone points to your chest. What’s wrong with it? Holy moly, you’re covered in blood! So much blood! What the fuck?! The shock made you stagger and fall on the invisible floor! “Oh crap…” That’s gonna leave a mark. You might get cool scars if you survive this. “I am going to survive this, aren’t I?”“Amelia told us you’re being taken to the nearest clinic! Ours! The paramedics seemed a little optimistic, but you still need some blood transfusions to make up for what you lost. Ms. Uccelli and a little guy are ready to donate blood for you! Well, if you need it.” Constance explains. “I’m extremely disappointed in you, Johnny Ando. You have a contract to fulfill with us and you decide to get yourself randomly killed like that.” Athelone takes her stick thing out. Her glare at you is absolutely cold with nothing close to sympathy. “You deserve punishment.”“Athelone! Don’t say that! He isn’t dead yet!” Little Constance is a little annoyed! “We came here because Athelone said we should pay special attention to you every time you’re fighting. Your spirit life energy thing was so low, and you were unconscious, so…” The spirit what now?“We came to scold you.” Athelone folds her arms. She looks surprisingly similar to Nina in that pose. “I deserve it…”“Not only you. Him!” Athelone now point a finger at Philonune. “As his partner, you have been absolutely deplorable – being on the sidelines doing nothing but getting this man hurt. You barely even exercise your power for anything useful!”“I do have to admit I’ve been too passive. But I trust my partner. He will learn from this mistake. If we survive.” Philonune continues to back you up even after all this stupidity! Almost makes you want to cry…
>>2955407“A small confrontation is happening, your allies are in danger, and you got yourselves foolishly incapacitated. We had to take drastic measures to aid them alongside you. Your friend groveled to us, and we decided to risk our own necks for your sake!” Athelone caresses Constance’s neck to drive in the point. “We broke our own rules to do this for you! Punishment will be certain! I still don’t understand why I agreed to this, but you will accept responsibility, you –” “Hold on a second. What are you talking about?” You interrupt the monster in the middle of her tirade.“Your friend the obese one is dying out there in the battlefield.” Athelone explains.“Mr. Osgood begged us for help. And there’s a certain someone who owed you something that was willing to help…” Constance giggles. Sure she likes being mysterious, but is this really the time?“I don’t follow…” You respond blandly. Even though it seems like you’re outside your body right now, you feel winded. “Feast your eyes, Johnny Ando! Just for this one exceptional occasion, a contract was made!” Athelone raises her four arms into the air, summoning a massive TV screen in front of the four of you! Slowly an image starts appearing through the haze of static… A very familiar person is on their way to battle! “Wait, but…” She doesn’t have a flame! How?! “We gave her a flame just for today. Her mission is to get there and get out safely with the injured.” Athelone beams proudly behind that mask of hers – so why are you still getting a chill down your ghostly spine?“If you could do that, why didn’t you do it before?! The screen too! How are you doing this?!” If they’re so willing to break their dumb rules to back you up, this whole war is meaningless! People are throwing their lives away for fucking nothing! What the fuck?! “With everyone flameless or injured, drastic measures were required – unless you don’t think that man’s life is worth it, hmmm?” Behind her mask, you can feel Athelone smirking victoriously. It’s starting to get on your nerves…She bends down low towards you and whispers faintly in your ear. Her tone is outright taunting…“Your reckless friend Osgood was so distressed, so desperate, he was willing to sacrifice everything he has for this little deal I proposed. If the events continue to devolve further into disappointing me, his soul is mine…! Now enjoy the show! The best is yet to come…”
>>2955411[Meanwhile elsewhere…] You’re two stations away from the right place! Fuck, why the hell did you agree to this?! Course you’re grateful to everyone and shit, and without their help your dad wouldn’t be awake and normal again. But to put your own life in danger? At least you made it clear that you aren’t sacrificing yourself or something retarded like that. “I can’t fucking believe I’m here to help that P.O.S. fatso…” You just came to visit Constance and ended up tangled in this stupid ghost war crap.“I can’t believe they gave you a flame instead of me. Absolutely disgraceful.” This girl Matilda seems pretty pissed off about that too. Can’t relate at all! Does she want to die? Is she stupid? Does she want to die in a stupid way? Who the fuck wants that? “You heard volleyball head; you wouldn’t be able to have another flame if you did this.”“You understand you’re going into an active battle guns blazing, with no practice, no training, no experience, or anything whatsoever? You’re only going to be dead weight until the ‘weight’ part stops being relevant.” “That’s why we’re in this together, sister. I’ll watch your back, and you’ll watch mine.” You grab her shoulder and pull her to you.“Don’t call me sister.” Matilda takes your arm off and moves away. Why are all these martial artist types such hardasses? Can’t they be less cliché?“Here, have 5 bucks. Can I call you sister now?”“Indeed, sister Lise.” Matilda grabs the bills way too fast! Weird gal, but she fun to be around at least. “Remember if this goes good, I’ll be able to reenter the show of bloodshed! Our victory is a must, sister! Let’s rock these suckers dead!” It’s your partner Welimor. Looks like some vampire rockstar out of a shitty comic. Supposedly she belonged to some terrorist that tried to kidnap Constance – never saw any action in that fight, but she’s experienced enough that you aren’t worried. Fuck, having someone to talk in your head is trippy as hell. It’s not exactly your thoughts, more of a step back from that. You still have your own thoughts and…Why are you explaining this dumb magic shit?! Point is it’s weird and you don’t like it, but you gotta put up with it. “Yeah, yeah. Don’t sweat it.”“Excuse me?” Oh yeah she can’t hear your partner talk.“I meant my– you know the– Ugh! Stupid telepathy bullshit…” You facepalm. How can these guys cope with this crap every day?Matilda elbows you in the ribs to get your attention. Pfft. She calls that and elbow jab? “Snap out of it quick, we’re about to get there in a few minutes.” Shit, she’s right! Okay saving fatso and nothing else! Nothing else at all… …This is gonna be a clusterfuck, isn’t it? Sadly this is all we have for this thread! Thanks for playing!
>>2953772Wrong. Both those times you're talking about were me, and as you can tell, this is the first time I've posted in this thread because my schedule has been an absolute shitshow this week. That said, I didn't post at all in the last few threads since I realized how whiny it sounds to complain yet not be present for votes, despite a lot of those decisions being stupid too. I'd rather just watch what happens so long as the quest continues, dumb decisions and all, than see the players (including me, when I can occasionally contribute) flinging shit at each other derailing threads. If you want to blame me for starting to point out awful decisions then be my guest, but know that I didn't start pointing out dumb logic just to get a rise out of people. That said, it doesn't change that, in my opinion, a lot of easily avoidable mistakes were made. I can understand why people other than just me are complaining, especially since this quest has been going on for somewhere in the ballpark of a year now and a lot of people are probably pretty invested in this character (including me).
>>2955829Fair enough I guess. Just seemed like no one was talking about this quest until recent months, and a vast majority of the threads had no discussion, no flavor comments or posts, fucking nothing on the part of voters. So now to see people bitching and moaning with their posts the moment Johnny does remotely like fucking up, WITHOUT voting once themselves, it really makes you think there's shitposters crawling out of the woodwork. It's good that people are posting more now yeah, but still...
>>2956037I get what you mean, and I myself would love to post more at relevant times, but usually I can't. I guess in the past I tried voicing my opinion although it came out as angrier than intended. At the end of the day I decided to step back because, after all, it's just an elaborate game on the internet and thus not really worth getting upset over, but that doesn't mean being suddenly unable to impact the direction of a game you've been taking part in for a while isn't frustrating. I also understand getting bent out of shape over people apparently coming out of nowhere and complaining (this goes double because of the nature of anonymity) but I'm pretty sure you and I aren't the only people who've been following this quest for a while. "Voting or not voting" isn't the best metric for judging a quest's readership, simply put. A lot of stuff factors into being able to vote. I just don't want something like a witch hunt happening over stuff I said like 2 months ago, especially in a quest that I like to read. That doesn't justify a bunch of dumb decisions and I'm pretty sure the next dumb decision we make is gonna end with Johnny and probably some of his friends going home in a box instead of to the hospital, as this pattern of consequences would follow (and might have already started since we don't even know if Bradford is alive or not since we were too busy getting distracted and then mauled to be available to help in a fight). Plus, I'd think shitposters would be more liable to cast votes to derail the thread to grief the other players than get assblasted that the MC was making stupid decisions, don't you think? If I was shitposting, it's what I would do, at least. That's the problem with only judging investment by voting. To a degree it works, but that notion can be challenged pretty easily, for better or for worse.By the way, fuckups aside, good thread. Fuckups included, I'm glad to see this quest continuing.
>>2956051Yeah I'm glad we're at least getting this as a grim reminder of how bad stuff can become. Literally everybody we know is injured except for a handful of people and the big fighting is right around the corner. You can just feel that tension start escalating huh?
>>2956058I hope it's more a wake up call to the active voters. The tension's been in the air for a while, I'd say ever since Flint or Kashing showed up and we had to relocate the clinic. We've been playing shitty at some high stakes bingo for a while, missing some called out numbers here and there. Stuff like not writing in to check texts between interactions, or losing track of current objectives when they were a laser focus the previous thread. To the voters' credit, the movie theater scene was handled fucking aces. This whole Neko think was a goddamned mess by comparison though. I was involved in neither scene so my two cents probably amount to just as much, but I feel those points are worth noting. There were a decent number of write in solutions here, some better and some worse: I think Amelia handled it as best as her character can allow largely because of the write ins being some quality, intelligent decisions, but that won't save the MC if we choose assisted suicide every time (or probably more realistically, one more time). Now Osgood's ass on the line too, so if we fuck up this fight with Lise then he also dies. What's it gonna take for our MC to pull his head out of his ass? Uccelli leveraging her soul for a bad deal like this? Amelia doing it? If things escalate off-kilter like this, we're fucked six ways from Sunday. Doing your best doesn't translate to "charge like a bull in a china shop." You gotta balance guts with smarts or you end up dead meat. I just don't want the main cast getting crushed, is all. They're good people for the most part, even if they did dickass things.
>>2956081>"what are you gonna do, stab me?">quote from man stabbedsums up this thread doesn't it?
>>2956083For better or for worse, pretty much.
>>2956898Whelp I was in the wrong tab.
>>2956929Posted something on this thread that was meant for another. I was trying to delete it and was getting errors. Looks like it worked though.
>>2956081>What's it gonna take for our MC to pull his head out of his ass? That people start thinking about the consequences. We've known that this is a war from day one, and ever since that kid got hit by a car we've known that people can die.If we hadn't spent hours fucking around buying dresses and cleaning a bathtub we would have been in and out in half an hour and fatso wouldn't have been alone. We might have had a chance to stop this event from happening.I hope the cast has an intervention next thread and really tell Johnny what a fuckup he is. He's clearly unfit to be a leader. He's doing his best but it's not good enough, constantly putting himself in danger with a martyr complex. He needs to be removed from the leadership position or get posted with fucking bodyguards because he can't be trusted to act with his own safety in mind.Unfortunately he is the MC so that would be restricting the players by way too much. I wouldn't be surprised if some people have the good sense to split from the group. If they do or not, or if they voice the concern or not I can't say but these constant stunts must've eroded their trust in him. Almost everyone is it have gotten injured and their lives are on the line here, tensions running high I fully expect strong emotional responses rather than anything rational.
>>2956996Except we didn't even know fatso was in danger, and had no way of knowing
>>2956996When is Amelia gonna be leader and Johnny does solo ops and more training to become swole, smart, /fa/, and even more suicidal?
>>2957135When we get out of the hospital, duh. And Neko shall be our secretary.
>>2957138If any good came out of this clusterfuck, it's that Neko will probably be willing to share everything she knows voluntarily, even if only out of a sense of guilt. whether it was worth it or not remains to be seen.
>>2957129That doesn't invalidate anything
>>2957739Yes it does because it would still happen without us knowing, Amalia's paranoia sister senses are what got the info in the first place. You acting like we would have found out when we would have no reason to on our own is metagaming in the extreme.
>>2957782Only if you assume that this conflict between WILDFLAME and the cultists wasn't planned out and Bradford still happened to be there because we were still at Neko's place. >>2957739 still has a valid point.
>>2957808That still makes no sense, what Wildflame does while fighting cultists is still not relevant to us, even if they were coming through here hunting for Neko, we wouldn't know that or about Bradford still being there, because we would be eating dinner with Neko the whole time. You cant pull us getting involved with a guy we barely talk too, our fat bastard that ran off without saying anything, and what we're doing at that moment out of thin air. If they really knew where she was, then they wouldn't have bothered getting into a street brawl with all their forces, and lets hypothetically say your right and they were coming to collect Neko, and sent some of their dudes past him and Bradford. Us getting injured and triggering Amalia's sister senses to investigate and then call the police to get us help is the best outcome. We would either be fighting a handful of cultists in the middle of dinner with Neko, and running, or get in an ambulance because Neko is a fuck up. Stop acting like the world revolves around us and that we can do anything without knowledge about it, we may be the MC, but everything doesn't exist in a vacuum until god decides otherwise....probably.
>>2957817The point I'm making is that Bradford wouldn't even be there if we didn't decide to bathe, eat dinner with, and bullshit around with Neko in the first place and made this whole mission go quicker, and thus we wouldn't care about what's happening in that fight.
>>2957847.....except he had no reason to be there, and the girls would have told him to take them back. The fact he stayed without saying anything is not our fault in the slightest, and more than likely Wildflame's doing.
>>2957863He wouldn't have had reason to be there if we didn't need him to pick up the girls in the first place by losing the plot.
>>2957867And that doesn't change the fact he went off on his own to fuck with Wildflame, the girls being brought there is the reason we got cops all over Neko's place, and even if we didn't call them over to clean that filthy neet, Bradford would have done it anyways without telling anyone. Other people have their own business, and their plots don't always revolve around us. Now stop acting pissy because you couldn't vote to go throw us into a fight with cultists.
>>2957875Fist of all, we don't know if Bradford would have even known about WF being there if we didn't bring him to the same part of town. Stop assuming that he would have been involved from the get-go. Secondly, his location here did entirely revolve around us for the few hours that we told him to be here. Him not calling us and telling us about it is incidental and irrelevant to what I'm even talking about. Thirdly, I'm not acting pissy about "not throwing us into a fight with cultists." You're missing the point: we could be NOT lying nearly dead in a hospital bed entirely through our own choices, and because we fucked up, now we can't help Bradford (regardless of whether or not this situation would have even occurred). We know we have a war coming up that now we're questioning our ability to even take part in. Why would we be actively making decisions that could have the chance of us being mauled, especially so close to a make-or-break point in the story? The fact that you're still stuck on me being upset over even getting involved in the fight just proves that you aren't even following my train of thought: we should have no reason to even know that this fight is existing. You're acting like Bradford being there was a given, when making that assumption is as much metagaming as making the assumption that we wouldn't have found out about the fight until it was already over and we'd have no means of impacting its outcome. Do you see what I'm getting at?
>>2957890You still bitching about us getting hit by Neko. Bradford going to see his buddy Wildflame, whom we know has his contact info, Bradford pulling a us with Wildflame still has nothing to do with us. He drove the girls back, and told them we would be staying there, he went back and is with Wildflame because the two were likely trying to do hero shit fighting cultists, YOU are the one not understanding the characters doing their own thing without being involved with us.
>>2957902In that case, then your argument still falls flat because we're supposed to be a team and we're in no position to help the team when we're half dead. No matter how you spin it, the vote ended poorly for us.Further, are you unable to read body language? What made you think Neko would have even been willing to eat dinner with us in the first place? We've seen her multiple times before and every time she's been nothing but antagonistic. In what universe does that translate to being willing to converse or eat a meal with someone who broke into your home? You can only run with the "the MC tries to play it cool but is actually a goofball under the surface" for so long before, in any setting, people can't suspend their disbelief anymore, in setting or out. When you look at it from an outside perspective, what we did was pretty fucked up.
>>2957912Calculated risk, now we don't have to force her to say shit.
>>2957915>Calculated riskCalculated risk? Fucking what? What the fuck did I just read? Are you actually a sociopath or just bad at math? We don't even know if she's going to talk ("likely" is not a guaranteed "yes") and for all we know now she's too taumatized to even fucking say anything. On top of this, everyone in our group is going to be at her throat whether she talks or not. We traded one of our most reliable team member's ability to act and a possible long term ally with valuable connections (Richard) for some information from someone who is completely at odds with our team. What the hell was calculated about this? How the hell is breaking into someone's home and acting like "yeah they know us, they'll be willing to calm down and hang out to talk for a while when we know that they hate our guts" anything other than stupid? The only thing calculated about this was plotting out the fastest way to get us murdered. Read >>2956083. Except what you're saying is "No, I didn't get stabbed, I just VOLUNTARILY walked into the knife as an act of diplomacy. It's all cool, I'm only bleeding out, don't worry bout me."
Just wanted to mention Bradford didn't drive the girls back in any ocassion. They came once by taxi and the other time by train. He was already gone after Yu Yan puked.>>2950687Here the relevant post.
>>2959126Ah, so he was pulling a us, got a call from Wildflame to do some dumbshit, or was following Neko's cats around until he got caught up in cultists and Wildflame's fight.
>>2959126Good to know.
