/qst/ - Quests

>Commander Irvis, leader of the regiment, calls for everyone to rise bright and early, gathering all the renegades, heretics, mutants, and abhumans of the regiment together. A gathering with much diversity, united by a hatred of the Imperium Of Man, and an ever growing devotion to the Dark Gods of Chaos.

>This devotion shows itself on the men and women of the regiment, as well as their surroundings. Mutations, spikes, the marks of Chaos, psychotic tendencies, all these things are slowly manifesting within the regiment. Around them, reality feels the same. In this area they have resides several weeks a taint is spreading. It seems, darker, the sunlight tainted and filtered through a haze. Plant life is twisting, animals, save for vermin and violent predators, are avoiding the area like the plague, likely because some who have entered it have received the plagues of Papa Nurgle.

"Today is a good day men! We are sending out a small infiltration team to the enemy prison camp in order to destroy the outpost of the Imperials and tell the occupants the glories of Chaos! And for those we free from the Imperials but will not listen? Then they will remain there, however it will be us holding the keys!"

"While our sneaky friends are infiltrating the prison camp, we ourselves will be raiding the supply depot of our enemy! We will take what they have, and use it against them! We will take their weapons, their food, their dreams! We will show them the Power of Chaos!"

>What is this?
This is the Renegade Regiment, a freeform RP . In this quest, you play Renegade guardsmen and chaos cultists under the command of Commander Irvis.

>Can I join?
Sure, join right in. For now, you’re restricted to having your character be a human or abhuman/mutant. Also of course, they have to be the kind of person to worship or at least work with the Chaos Gods.

>Can I have multiple characters?
Yes as long as you don't use it to powerplay.

>How do you play?
We tend to use spoilers for OOC chat, but nothing is set in stone.
We tend to use greentexts for describing a character's actions, but again nothing is set in stone.
Use d20s for combat checks and d100s for other things you want to roll, higher Is better.

>Kanith silently prays into himself
“Oh Malal, Master of none, destroyer of all, grant me the strength of 1000 men to destroy all today. I shall not hold back. I shall not preach your name for your name should not be preached. I will please no god today. I am the master of my own destiny.”

>Having led his regiment to going renegade and turning to the worship of the Chaos Gods, Commander Irvis set his men on the raiding of supplies from Imperial convoys and bases on this planet still fraught with native rebel activity resisting Imperial rule

"I volunteer for the infiltration mission. Not like much else is happening here, or anyone else knows the first thing on how to actually walk without causing a bunch of noise." Brunhilde would say, sounding a bit bored. She thought that she should gather some wooden blocks so she could whittle some more in her spare time but that was something she could do later. For now, it was time to get some revenge on the Imperium for taking over her home and a couple of other things relating to that take over.
>>
>>2684094
"Jaan is organizing the infiltration mission alongside Antaloth, ask them if you'd like to participate. Or just go along with them without their consent, though they may shoot you if you prove a nuisance."

Jaan! are your Omakaiste ready for this?

>>2684514
>looks at the list
Some of these I can construct and or give without adittional reason these items include the noice pistol, the chain collar you can get the delivery device for the gas granade but I can not suply any gas. I can nether sulpy any bottles for bleach but you can tap up to 1 half gallon of industrial cleaning bases.
The walk in frige will be a harder to construct without adittional permits fron the comander. The chainmail I can not deliver on as I do not have any spare materials for their construction that would meat my minimum quality. Benches will be put in the bottom of the list as they are not complicated enuth to warrant my notice and the same with most of the bildings. Soundproofing you will have to do yourself as I can not se a reason for it this is to with the body pillow and any other articles of comfort as they are not needed in a warcamp.
And I will not construct laser pauldrons as they are a waste of resources.
And I can not suply you with a serrated power sword as I only have one in the stores and you will require adittional reson to requisition it that goes above "I want" do you have any adittional questions.

>Firing a weapon may have not been the best idea, as as soon as you pulled in out the Burly Man gave you a strong kick to the back which sends you sprawling into a pit that you couldn't see in the darkness

"Fucking damnit Nathanael! Ugh, I'm going to kill that underling later. Turn on the fucking lights!"

>Torches in the room alight, revealing that you have been dropped into some type of pit, strewn with bones. Looking around it is very familiar; the regiment has one just like it back at their base, right down to the Khornate symbols!

>Wait, what?

>Before you can think for a moment on that somebody jumps down into the pit after you

"Khorne fucking damnit brother, you just had to fucking pull out a gun to make a fucking light? I wanted to be the person to throw you down here!"

>Area picks you up and slams you against the wall. That's... your fairly sure she wasn't strong enough to do that last time you saw her, though in the light, you can see she has changed slightly.

>Gone from her face is softness and love. It has been hardened with torturous experiences and rage. Hanging from her ear is a small brass symbol of Khorne. She also has appeared to have gained several pounds of muscle and even a few inches of height!

"You fuck! Fuck you!"

>She slams you against the wall again

"You brought the fucking inquisition on us! Your fucking melding with things you didn't understand ruined everything! We had it all! Money, power, our love! And you threw it all fucking away!"

"So what the fuck do you have to save for yourself you fucking coward!"

A few fucking thugs tried to take advantage of me, so I beat the shit out of them. I just let everything loose and killed; it was the most exhilarating moment in my entire life; I was bleeding, concussed, and covered in my own blood and the blood of others, and I had never felt so alive!"

>She laughs

"Soon, I began to hear voices. I had thought I had finally snapped, but I hadn't. It was the blood, it was Khorne! He gave me strength, he gave me the power to take back what was stolen from me!"

>She then glares at Antaloth

"And he also told me what you did. In pursuit of foul and cowardly sorcery, you cared more about fucking books than your family. So here's what's going to happen: I am going to kill you."

>She rolls her shoulders

"Honestly, it isn't even at this point what has happened to me. I prefer who I am now to the weakling I once was. This isn't about what happened to me personally, this is about what you did to father, this is about what you did to the person I used to be, all in the pursuit of fucking sorcery!"

As much as burning it down would save us trouble, we need every bit of supplies we can get, at least until we secure a steady supply. Let me try something.

Surrender, if your god was going to save you he'd have done it already. Struggling will only increase your suffering. Join us, we will bring you power, strength, family, untold pleasures. Those who blindly cling to the corpse emperor are already dead, let us revive you.

Are you the priests sister

The one he organised all this for well you are surely happy for him coming to rescue you are you

Anyway my men have stationed themselves on different locations around the baracks and the plan is to start a riot and get you and as many of my men and others out of here as possible
>>
>>2686310
>There is an odd stillness inside the warehouse

“What are you doing soldier! Hold the-AHH!”

>There is The a sounds of shots firing from inside the warehouse. A few moments later the doors open. A large handful of guardsmen holding lasguns and bloodied knives. A look of determination on their faces, a will to live and do anything to continue

“We renounce the Emperor for our lives!”

Excellent, I can provide the acid and extacy, but I will need 4 additional volunteers for the ritual, so, who wants to devote themselves to slaanesh.

Brunhilde just stares at him and simply says "Please, be quiet." Before walking over to were the lever was. Then they realized that they should really time this and said to the one currently a bird "Tell Jaan to give a signal for when I should open the gate, along with what signal that is."
>>

Yes that's the plan

that is what the plan was and is exactly what we are doing at this moment.
I believe you may have hit your head on something

They could be housed in children's fables, in songs, in whatever could hold them, but if they were kept in the faith alone, they would have died when the Imperium finally found it."

"And it sounds like you've already found something in these new gods. You and your soldiers have been ever courageous in your fighting. You found the perfection of your guerrilla tactics. You have kept with your ways and decayed the Imperium by ripping at its edges. You have changed, and accepted these new allies to help you. When i started delving into the arcane, it seemed innocent, there were strange books in our palace's library that told tales of men summoning flames to burn their enemys to dust, or using abilities to manipulate the minds of those around them.
being the logical man i was at the time, i was intrigued, how could such things be possible?
Well i learned more and more from those books. You would check on me from time to time, when you werent basking in the extravagance of your existence, youd ask me what i was doing and i would tell you, "Finding a way to make our lives 10 times as great."
Anyway, after i started covorting with Daemons of the warp and making dark pacts, and darker promises... The inquisition caught wind, someone we knew blabbed. Someone you and i both trusted. Someone who shares our blood.
Anyway, i knew my options at that point were incredibly limited. I knew i could outrun them, but what they could do to you and our family was something out of my control entirely. Given that i was their target i decided to flee and make my trail as obvious as the sun was bright. Lead them to me and away from you, Area.
However the inquisition was lazy, they figured that they could just arrest all of you based on a theory that you all fabricated my escape instead of following the trail of bread crumbs i left for them. After which they through you and our father into that damned prison where he died. and you became resentful of me.
I tried to advance our power and stage. I tried to turn our family into the dominant entity on the planet maybe even the whole system!
So that you and i could never know "want"
And it cost us everything. And for that i am beyond sorry.
Thats all i have to say, if you want to finish me off wrap your hand around my neck and snuff out this flame for good.
But if you choose mercy, i can promise you i will make them all pay for this. They will experience pain and misery beyond their wildest nightmares.

(Area) Thank you for your help in the prison break, My twin brother is smart but i dont think he could have done it without your help
>she brushes her hair back

>It screeches back at Cogran in binaric

"REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! FOUL SERVANTS OF CHAOS!!! MY MASTERS ARE GOING TO COME HERE AND RESCUE ME AND KICK YOUR BUTTS!"

>It activates every device that creates noise it can, letting out a cacophony of sermons, horn honk, and engine revving
>>
>>2695715
"Who's the chick?"

>>2695481
"Hmm, so that's one for leaving. Anybody else have any opinions on our options? If not, we'll be packing up and heading out."

>>2695729
The position is completely indefensible, I recommend immediate withdrawal
>>
>>2695747
It's supposed to be hidden and we are not supposed to defend it if they find it we are to escape not fight and they are close to finding us so we are to run
>>
>>2695727
That's not so nice to say.
And I only serve the omnissahia and no they will not as nobody will kil me as I serve the tru Omnissahia.
So now stop complaining so we can get going.
>>
>>2695760
That’s what I just said.

"ALRIGHT MEN! The enemy is closing in on our location and it likely more than we can handle at the moment! We're moving out! Load everything important into the trucks and everyone who is important get into the chimeras! We're certainly going to have to leave some shit behind, so think carefully and quickly!"

>>2695825

You are coming with us don't make this hard on yourself
SLAVE start packing.

Ok I'll return to my men then

>>2695715

Hello priest, hello miss

What are you doing here should you not be packing
>>
>>2695845

If you are going to do it that way

Oh and I was the one mistreating it, right.
>>
>>2695856
>The machine spirit screeches

"I shall burn you in holy fire! I shall crush your skull beneath my treads!"
>>
>>2695858
We are in a hurry I must get all of the stuff moving so I don't have enuth time to placate it as I would have done normally.
>>
>>2695860
No you won't I will play you some cyber flute later but I don't have time to do that now
>>
>>2695861
Fair, we don’t have much time if my calculations are correct.

We need to move out before they work out we know about them
>>
>>2695576

"Alright then, I'm going to need someone to remove all arms and armour from her and have her leg patched up. Then, I'm going to have a talk with her, possibly as we move out."

>>2695729

"It's actually two unless I don't count as important enough or something along those lines. Anyway can you spare a transport to have only the driver, me, and the new prisoner inside it? I don't think it would be wise to leave them out in a place that they could escape, and I would like to talk to them sooner rather than later."
>>
>>2695873
"We are not sparing a transport for just two people."
>>
>>2695877

"Understandable, but it's not like we are a fully mechanized force, some people have to be on foot anyway so it wouldn't slow us down. And nothing is preventing people from resting on top of it, I just want the inside."
>>
>>2695877
>Cogran walks up the Ivris
Commander the guns are loaded into a truck and ready to move.
>>
>>2695864
>Jay doesn't have much of great import, she pockets her knife, hefts her slave, and sprints back to the carport. As she approaches she hails the dark mechanicus.
Sup, Cogs? It would seem we'll have to fix up that noise pistol on the road, or is this rhino going to consume the entirety of your attention?
>>
>>2695873
>he takes out of his knife and begins systematically prying off her armour, ensuring she remains hogtied and unconscious the entire time she is being stripped

I already have their weapons
>he says from inside the chimaera
>>
>>2695896
It will be complaining so we will have to see but I might have some time over.
>>2695892
It would put unnecessarily strain in the foot pepole just store her in one of the chimeras or something.
>>
>>2695850
I have all my things with me, my book is in my jacket and the flame weapons are with Cogran, as of this moment. We wanted to speak to you, well, 'she' wanted to speak to you.

>>2695907
Ok then what is it about miss

No those are not to be left
> he then screams to some of his men
>>
>>2695900

"Make sure she has nothing but the clothing on her back, and if she doesn't have any under that armour give her some."

>>2695905

Brunhilde laughed for a moment before realizing Cogran was serious. "It depends on how far we are going. If we are only going a few hundred miles the soldiers will be fine being forced to only sit and rest on the outside of the vehicle...unless you are implying that these people aren't actually soldiers, I think a few hundred mile march is something they can do. Would be easier if we had bikes or some kind of steeds for the soldiers to ride on but the march won't kill them."
>>
>>2695937
She has robes enough.
You can begin when she wakes up
>>
"ALRIGHT MEN! It looks like everyone's loaded up and ready to go! Let's move!"

But needless to say your bodyguards impressed me. I ask that you order them to train me in the art of combat. As gifted my brother is ive seen him trip over the same end table too many times for me to trust his teachings with my life.

Wonderful, you’re awake.
Now, I should probably inform you of the situation.

You shot me in the shoulder and now you are my slave. Your comrades are dead and we stole your Rhino. You now exist only to do exactly what I tell you to.

That’s about it.

Nod if you understand

We don’t need her screaming yet. If you want to talk you can remove it at any time

We will continue our discussion once we find a place to settle down for the time being. As i understand it we are currently nomads yes?

"Seven, I say this with as little respect as I possibly can give you, fuck off and leave the poor girl alone. All you are doing is digging a hole for yourself that I wouldn't mind putting you in if you keep it up, because for someone supposed to be smart your acting like a damn moron."

>>2696132

"Sorry about seven, he's just uncompromising in his quest to be an ass. Despite was he has said you aren't going to be a slave, not if I can help it anyway. You'll just be a under house arrest. If there is anything I can do for you other than freeing you or killing myself let me know."
>>
>>2696159
"Kill every heretic here, and you will be forgiven by the God Emperor. I can see it in your eyes. You are not yet fully corrupted by Chaos. Salvation remains possible for you."

She shot me in the shoulder with a bolter gun after ambushing me on the side of the road and now I can’t move my arm. I think my attitude is justified.

Right I’ll give you one then.
Ancilla, there.
>>
>>2696203
"That is not my name, but you are a madman and a heretic."
>>
>>2696168

"God emperor? You mean the leader of the imperium, the one that invaded my homeword seconds after they found it merely because the nation's on it wanted to remain free and independent? The one that killed the leadership of the world when they were defenseless and beaten, the same one that bombed the largest cities from orbit with powerful explosives that wiped them out, the same empire that sent every soldier that fought against them that they found to the firing line and even some of the ones who didn't while they sent the rest away to who knows where....and the same one that would kill me for being an important military figure before they invaded and because I scratched the paintjob with my cannons of one of their transport craft when the slaughter of an invasion was still called a war!? If someone needs to forgive what they did its your emperor, because you're right, I don't worship any of these peoples gods, I just work with them so I can avenge the people of the home they practically destroyed." She lets out a sigh and pauses for a good minute before continuing "I have to ask, have you even ever seen your so called god emperor? Have you heard him? Because I get the feeling that you only have heard about him by your organization indoctrinating you to be loyal to him and by extension the imperium just to use you and so you would never think for yourself and just ignore what anyone else says as words of unfaithful, or words of heresy. But what about when such words are true? What then? Do you just deny them despite the fact or do you actually think for yourself..."

>>2696189
>>2696203

"That doesn't give you a right, it's just an excuse. Just leave me and her be please."
>>
>>2696208
It is now.
>>2696240
We are in a cramped transport vehicle and I’m not getting out.

Also, yes, it does give me a right
>>
>>2696240
"Whatever your planet did, the Imperium's conquest was justified. All worlds must submit to the God Emperor's domain, for without it, Chaos spreads, corrupts, and multiplies!"

"Oh, you will worship their gods soon enough if you do not repent. I have heard how it starts from the heretics we have captured and extracted information from. It will be whispers at first, suggestions, influences to your slightest of actions. You will not even notice as you idly make signs with your hands, as you utter short prayers, as you fall into their dark grasps! You will not notice a change, but one day you will just be another heretic, covered in profane marks and screaming praises to your dark and horrible gods!"

"I have felt the God Emperor's gaze on me for my entire life. He protects me from evils, he guides my path. He is my lord, and I fight in his name."
>>
>>2696284

"My planet, which hadn't had any contact with anyone off world did one thing and that was not submitting to be subjugated by them, and while you may be so confident about the spread of chaos being able to take the world I lived on, I never knew anything about chaos until they arived, if anything they did more harm than good in that regard considering because of their actions I'm literally working with the people who you consider terrible heretics, which to be fair, some of them are really weird or disturbing... Anyway I have to ask, how do you feel your gods gaze? Is it just a feeling in the back of your mind that was implanted after years of indoctrination or is it an actual physical feeling?...or is it just simply a the book says it's real, and the book is infallible so therefore it must be true kinda thing? Also I don't think he has done the best job protecting you unless I'm magically the one he sent to protect you. I feel like mentioning this though, I don't think I'll be 'corrupted' any time soon seeing how I have stared directly at 'neverborn' as the commander calls them and felt nothing. Either I grew some kind of resistance or...something."
>>
>>2696345
"...You are already lost. There is no progress in talking to you. Have fun with your twice damned soul."
>>
>>2696345
I thought you were interrogating her, not discussing life stories
>>
>>2696357

"Sure I am. Really I just want to discuss thighs like this, also if you had so much faith in your god would you really think I'm lost just because you couldn't convince me in a few minutes? Or is it that you have little faith in yourself? I wouldn't give up on anyone so easily so wouldn't a holy servant not give up so quickly either? Or are you just the indoctrinated type sent to die horribly for their beliefs...if you wish, we can change the subject as its quite clearly a touchy one for you but I would like you to know I'm not like the others, okay?"

>>2696365

"If you have nothing good to add, don't add anything. Please, just leave me and her alone, okay? If you can at least be quiet as I speak to her that would be nice."
>>
>>2696398
"The gods that your companions covet LITERALLY make people mutate, go insane, and grow tentacles. If you cannot see that, you are lost to any hope of redemption. There is not else
I can do other than sit here yelling at people, which tends to not work."
>>
>>2696357
>Jay stops by on her way to another part of the caravan.
I heard you had a sister here and I wanted to hear what she thinks about something.
>She turns to the sister
It was a priest who drove me away. I was happy to serve the emperor, I would've gone to war to defend the imperium. I know now what I might've faced on that other path and still I know I would've been stalwart. But a priest took my love, and my faith died in it's absence. What say you to that?
>>
>>2696139
Listen to me for just a second damnit! She has been locked in a damn dungeon for years! she knows nothing of the Gods or the fact that your people still live on this world. She didnt know that she would offend anyone now please lay down your arms! ive worked so hard to make us allies Jaan this is just a misunderstanding.
(Area) what do you mean "your people", they are just Imperial citizens right? whats so special about them?
>>
>>2696398
I might remind you that I am the one giving you permission to talk to them, not the other way around.
If you won’t be civil to me I won’t be civil in turn
>>
>>2696423
"Could I get a little context on that? There are many reasons for a man of the cloth to do things, and not all are created equal. The Worship of the Emperor is diverse as the Imperium; even the efforts of the wider ecclisiarchy have trouble insuring that the most important details are kept straight."
>>
>>2696439
I loved a woman, he had the audacity to call it lust, perversion. I suffered for the Ecclesiarchy's failures, and I swear that priest will suffer before I stop, but perhaps I could rebuild.
>>
>>2696410

"Oh you mean that...there is a reason I don't follow their beliefs you know. I'm only working with them to avenge the people of my home. I'm only associated with them to hamper the Imperium and nothing else, and again I highly doubt I will fall to their 'dark gods' as I don't exactly want to look worse then I already do. But really I wouldn't call anyone here my companion, just an ally in fighting against the imperium. However I would like you to tell me, how is your god better than the ones the people I work with follow? Take your time with your answer, there is no rush."

>>2696436

"Technically its the commander who gave me permission, and trust me, I will fight you on this if you keep it up."
>>
