Welcome to the Maho region! A vibrant and incredibly diverse region filled to the brim with new Pokemon and new adventures! As a young man who's never been on his own Pokemon journey before, it's about high time you go out and see the world!Twitter: https://twitter.com/glacierQMArchive: https://pastebin.com/9HisTWEMCharacter Info Pastebin: https://pastebin.com/nt6QeQUaPokedex Pastebin: https://pastebin.com/7S8PEC0Q
[Hello! Sorry I was gone for so long! Went through a brief art block and needed a mental break from things for a bit. But now I'm back!]
>"What? Get what back? Slow down and we can help you.">"Woah, calm down, lady. You're freaking me out.">"Oh, I really don't have time to help you."
>>2640320>>"Woah, calm down, lady. You're freaking me out."
>>2640320>"What? Get what back? Slow down and we can help you.
>>2640320>"What? Get what back? Slow down and we can help you."It's back at last! Thought you'd bailed on us, to be honest.
>>2640320>"What? Get what back? Slow down and we can help you."Also, welcome back, you beautiful human being.
>>2640320>>"Woah, calm down, lady. You gotta slow down a bit before anyone can help you.
>>2640277Welcome back my friend I was scared we'd lose this wild ride>>2640320>"Woah, calm down, lady. You're freaking me out.">"What? Get what back? Slow down and we can help you."Goddamnit Glacier why must your girls be so damn cute.
>>2640320>>"What? Get what back? Slow down and we can help you."Is that Hilda?
>>2640320>>"What? Get what back? Slow down and we can help you."
>>2640277Just noticed that you updated the pokedex pastebin and added species names. Nice touch!
>>2640320>"What? Get what back? Slow down and we can help you."Glad to see you're back, glacier.
>"Of course, we can help. Which direction did thatPokemon run off to?">"I'm sorry but, we have somewhere we need to be. I'm sure you'll find it eventually!">"We need to focus on getting you to a Pokemon Center first, with that injury you won't be going anywhere."
>>2641679>"Of course, we can help. Which direction did thatPokemon run off to?"
>>2641679>>"Of course, we can help. Which direction did that Pokemon run off to?"
>>2641679>>"We need to focus on getting you to a Pokemon Center first, with that injury you won't be going anywhere."First aid while out innawoods is important, guys!
I feel like Cole stumbles on more cuties in the woods than wild Pokémon. Not that I'm complaining about meeting a Hilda look alike.
>"You should come with us, the more eyes we got the better chance we have.">"That sounds good, I'll be back as soon as I can.">"How about you let me take Fevine with me? He has a decent nose on him."
>>2641679>>"Of course, we can help. Which direction did that Pokemon run off to?">Do you mind if I carry you? With that injury it's not safe to leave you alone.
>>2641812>Do you mind if I carry you? If something big finds either of us, it's the only way you're getting anywhere quickly.
>>2641812>>2641816I'll support, Hope you can handle a princess carry.
>>2641834A princess carry would make her leg worse and is liable to hit her head on a tree or something. I'm afraid it's a piggyback at best.
>>2641840Good point, support still stands.
>>2641679>Water typeWe were in the market for one of those to round out our team more. Would be great if we can catch this guy and retrieve Fevine this session, turn our two Pokémon into four. I’m sort of suspicious of it being a Nibdew, considering the art on the OP, but it seems kind of out of character for one of them to do this.
>>2641812>>"That sounds good, I'll be back as soon as I can."
>>2641812>"That sounds good, I'll be back as soon as I can."
>>2641812>"That sounds good, I'll be back as soon as I can."Let Chiwip out of its ball for an aerial view.
>>2642198Weren't we already doing that?
>Scan it first.>Go for a sneak attack!>Attack it immediately!>Approach it gently, and act friendly.
>>2643174>Approach it gently, and act friendly.Send Chiwip around the other side, and tell him to zap the little critter if it tries to make a break for it.
>>2643174>>Go for a sneak attack!
>>2643183Oh yeah, and since I can’t help myself,>Offer it a pokesnack. It seems like it might actually be effective with this one. And tell Chiwip to be discrete while he circles around, we don’t want it to know he’s there.
>>2643183>Approach it gently, and act friendly.>...and offer it a Pokesnack.
>>2643174>Scan it first.
>>2643183>SCAN. WITH. POKEDEX.Oh and also >>2643183 & >>2643207
>>2643174>>Scan it first.
>>2643174>Approach it gently, and act friendly.>pokesnack
[woops, forgot text.]>Approach it.>Let it come to you.>Pour out a small pile and back away.>Eat a treat first so it knows that they're safe.
>>2643633>>Pour out a small pile and back away.
>>2643633>>Let it come to you.
>>2643631>Pour out a small pile and back away.
>>2643633>Eat a treat first so it knows that they're safe.>Pour out a small pile and back away.In that order.
>>2643630So I'm not the only one who thinks this thing looks ugly as shit right?
>>2643742Eh, it’s pretty cute when it’s eyes are open, though it does look a little creepy with it’s eyes closed like in the dex entry.
>>2643761Yeah I think the eyes closed really turned me off. That and the eyebrows. The only thing I like about it's design are the fusion of claws and webbed feet, that looks really sick, so I can't say I hate it. But this thing is probably one of those pokemon I don't like in the beginning but eventually grows on me. Can't say for sure though
>>2643794I’d agree. I am rather looking forward to seeing what it could evolve into, at the very least. It seems like an otter, but I can’t say for sure.
>>2643798If you're implying that we should catch one I need you to slow down there buddy. This team is reserved for total CHADs like Cubcoal and Chiwip
>Spit it out.>Vomit.>Swallow it and try your best to smile.[If 3rd option, roll 3 1d100s to see if you can pretend they taste not like Snorlax shit.]
Rolled 78 (1d100)>>2643816>Swallow it and try your best to smile. We can't half ass it. We must COMMIT
Rolled 70 (1d100)>>2643816>>Swallow it and try your best to smile.Better not punk out like a bitch Cole
>>2643816>Try to surreptitiously hide it in your cheeks and pretend you've swallowedDo it right, you can still talk and you won't even have to taste it. Made it through three hours of a family wedding before I got a chance to dispose of that pretentious tiny slice of shitty fucking haggis.Rest of the meal was lovely, by the way.
>>2643816I am not surprised. Why would any of you try to eat pet food? And what does snorlax shit taste like?
>>2643852Like pokesnacks apparently
Rolled 4 (1d100)>>2643816>>Swallow it and try your best to smile.
>>2643806I don’t really see why we shouldn’t catch it. I mean when we captured Chiwip he’d just been booted out of his flock by all of his family members for being a little bitch, and he turned out pretty kickass. Besides, this guy beat up that girl’s Sandshrew so he could steal her bag, so he must be at least somewhat competent.
>>2644253We got Chiwip because pretty much everyone liked and wanted a Chiwip so when one finally appeared the consensus was "CATCH NOW". I guarantee you if it was a Parafly or a Munkit that got rejected we probably wouldn't want it nearly as muchAnd a water type beating a Sandshrew isn't impressive. Like at all. And while it was carrying the bag away it dropped most everything including the food. Doesn't sound too competent to me. It's gonna have to try hard to impress me enough to want it on our team that only can only have 6 party members at any giving time. Especially when there's no guarantee it'll evolve into something cool. I don't want to put all of that investment into a pokemon we'll might box later on
>>2644347I'm trying to think of how I think it would evolve that isn't just poliwrath. So far, I've got....."evasion tank water death clown" and "arms are literally oars".
>>2644347I didn’t say that he was amazing, just that he’s got better credentials then “Fell in front of us.” Besides, we decided we’re going to fight the gym leader once we finish Aspen’s delivery, and I’d like at least 4 Pokémon for that match, since 3 or 4’s a reasonable number to expect her to have as well. If we catch this guy and Fevine, when we finally find him, then that’ll give us a good balance of types to start off, and we can take our time getting and picking out the other two. It’s not like we can’t replace him down the line, if it really comes down to it. We’ll still have two slots if we find any Pokémon we really want to add to the team, and we can put him aside if we manage to fill up our roster and find a Pokémon we like more.
>>2644432Most starting gym leaders have 2 pokemon and 3 AT MOST (only happened once). I actually really like our current team we both have type advantage against Hannally and I assume it's like in the anime where you both use an equal amount of pokemon on your team.
>>2644447I’d agree normally, but Hannally seems to have extensive experience as a Pokémon trainer before her stint as gym leader, considering she’s got an Ariados and stated that a number of the Pokémon in the garden are Pokémon she captured in her younger days. She probably won’t send more then two or three at us, but I see no reason not to be prepared. We don’t really lose anything by capturing this guy.
>>2643816>Swallow it and try your best to smile.
>>2644472? She isn't gonna send out an Ariados against a newbie trainer. We know that gym leaders have strong ass pokemon but don't use them until the rematches that are usually post game. And once again like in the anime they use an equal number of pokemon against the trainer. And you can extend the "we don't lose anything" argument and say we should just look in the forest until we have 6 pokemon on our team so we can just wreck fucking house. I don't want to do something like that I want to add pokemon to the team when I actually want them not just for the sake of it
>>2644490Obviously she’s not going to send out the Ariados, but at the same time she’s very likely got more then just 2 Pokémon at our skill level to send at us. Chiwip and Cubcoal could probably handle it, but we would stand to gain from having one or two Pokémon in reserve when we battle her. And I’m not suggesting we just wander the forest catching Pokémon, but if we’re going to run into him like this, I don’t see any reason to avoid catch him. He seems friendly enough, and I’d say I like his design, when he’s not got his eyes closed.
>>2644504What do you "at our skill level"? We Literally started our journey yesterday and all we have is our starter and the route 1 bird. We even told her we're mainly doing this to grow as a person so why would she assume we're that fucking strong? And once again in the anime (which this is heavily based on) the gym leaders use an equal number of pokemon as the challenger so that nobody has a clear advantage so catching another pokemon might make the battle harder. And I'll use the same example as I did before. If your main argument is that we have nothing to lose and everything to gain you could also use that argument for catching everything we see. I don't want to add a member to the team with the reasoning like "might as well" I'd perfer moments like with Chiwip where pretty much everyone wanted one and was excited to train it and see what it becomes. Those are the most fun moments in pokemon for me
>>2644547When I say “At our skill level”,I mean unevolved Pokémon, like the Bumbli she had hanging around her. My knowledge of the anime, past the first season or so, is admittedly rather spotty, so I can’t say how the gym leaders acted in the anime. I was going off of the games, which I have far more experience with, where the gym leaders send out whatever Pokémon they’ve got. And my argument doesn’t hinge on “Why not”. I do actually like how this Pokémon looks, for the most part, and it seems to have a nice disposition. Plus Damp is a pretty useful ability, without any drawbacks, so I’d like to catch it, and also don’t see any reason not to do so.
>>2644582I can't really argue with you about how it looks cause that's all opinion based but this pokemon seems more like an acquired taste to me and not a universally revered mon like Chiwip was (best bird). But what I can argue against is Damp being a useful ability. How? It only stops like 3 moves and one is exclusive to an ultra beast. It's so specific. It's more specific than Bulletproof. We can just get a ghost type and it'll do what damp does but better... ok sorry for that rant. I just think damp is a really shit ability and one if the reasons I'm not the most excited about using this thingAnd there it is again! You keep saying "I don't see any reason not to". That's horrible reasoning as once again I can say I don't see any reason not to go an catch a full team of 6 from the start
>>2644618Well, yeah, damp doesn’t have a wide range of applications, but it also has no drawbacks. There are abilities with a wider range of applications, yeah, but they usually come with some sort of significant drawback in turn. I’d take a somewhat useful ability over an ability that might harm the Pokémon as much as it hurts them at times. Plus the Pokémon that do have self destruct tend to be pretty annoying. Suicide attacks from low hp are the worst. And I keep saying that I don’t see any reason not to because, my liking it’s design and what we’ve seen so far of it’s personality, I don’t see anything that would put me off of the idea of adding it to the team.
>>2644649What are you talking about? Most of the good abilites don't have any drawbacks. Abilites like levitate, moxie, huge power, static, poison point, ect don't have any drawbacks and those are only the ones that we've seen so far off in our short journey off the top of my head. And pokemon that have self destruct aren't really that annoying when they only last 1 turn and are hard countered by any ghost type
While I'm eager to get a water type, I'm not crazy about this thing and don't particularly want to catch it. But let's see how the rest of this interaction goes.
>>2644681Well, Gentle, to start with ,which Chiwip has. Raises special attack but lowers attack. Then there's whatever Fevine had. Can't remember what it's called, but it causes all of his attacks to connect, but also makes it so that all of the opponent's attacks connect.
>Let it eat it up.>Reach over to pet it.>Throw a Pokeball.>Tell Chiwip to attack!
>>2644829HIS MOUTH IS HORRIFYING THAT'S REALLY CUTE
>>2644829>Let it eat it up.>Reach over to pet it.Wait for it to finish before petting it. You never pet an animal while it's eating. If it tires to run away Chiwip will stop himAlso what the fuck are those teeth. I dislike that thing even more now
>>2644829Alright I'm on board. Let's get this deep sea nightmare in disguise.
>>2644822Are you talking about fucking natures? Those are completely different from abilities do you play the games. Abilites are passive effects a pokemon use in battle (sometimes outside of battle but those are kinda rare) like levitate lifting you off of the ground so ground type attacks don't affect you. While natures are sort of like aptitudes in a certain stat like adamant giving you a boost in attack but lowers special attack
>>2644829Damn, those are some teeth. I like it.>Let it eat it up.>Reach over to pet it.Give it a sec to start eating it before we pet it.
>>2644829>Let it eat it up.
>>2644829>Let it eat it up.OH SHIT DO NOT PET
>>2644829Let it eat. Do not pet.
>No posts in over 28 hours
>>2647246after the two week hiatus I ain't about to start complaining now
>>2647253I'm only upset because there was a hiatus. I wanted to get back into it as soon as he returned. Of course I'm gonna get antsy for an almost 30 hour pause
>>2647294Beggars can't be choosers All you can do is pray they don't just stop without warning like so many others
>>2647349It is well in my right to be eager for a new post I don't see the harm in it so yeah beggars can be choosers. And he almost did to be fair. He gave no warning or explanation until he came back randomly out of blue one day. It was really scary
>>2647294>as soon as he returned>he
>>2647397>Implying women go on 4chanIn your dreams buddy
>>2644829>>Let it eat it up.>>2647402Men don't go to "4cha" either bub.
Grow a pair
>>2647406Suprised you caught it
[sorry! I get wrapped up in things at home and lose the time to update. I'm shocked so many of you are eager for updates, it's very motivational! thank you all for reading my quest :')]
>>2647564No problem! I can't wait to see where this wild ride will take us next and I can't wait to get there. Especially after the month of radio silence. That was scary
>Make a run for it!>Ask Paddlefrop nicely if you can have the bag.>Get Chiwip to get the bag.
>>2647942>>Ask Paddlefrop nicely if you can have the bag.
>>2647942>Make a run for it!
>>2647942>Try befriending it further, maybe you'll be able to catch it
>>2647942>Ask Paddlefrop nicely if you can have the bag.Offer him some more Pokesnacks if we can have the bag. Want to try>Try befriending it further, maybe you'll be able to catch itTo do this as well. Maybe tell it there’ll be plenty more snacks and friends to play with, if he joins us? Bribery seems pretty effective with this guy.
>>2647942>Ask Paddlefrop nicely if you can have the bag.If he says no Chiwip can just fuck him up
>>2647942>Calmly walk over to pick it up.>Chiwip his ass down if he threatens us for it
>>2647942>>Get Chiwip to get the bag.
>>2648224Paddlefrop had trouble carrying it, and Chiwip is even smaller. He’d probably have trouble carrying the egg alone safely, let alone the entire bag.
>>2647942>Keep distracting Paddlefrop and see if Chwip can get the bag>Otherwise let's get it ourselves and brace for battle
>>2647942>>Make a run for it!
>>2647942offer to play a game. that'll distract the pokemon so that you can grab the bag, and then the pokemon might still come back and be within reach. like, fetch or something, so it runs off for a moment and comes back?
>>2647942>Ask Paddlefrop nicely if you can have the bag.Not chancing anything with those chompers. Also>Try befriending it further, maybe you'll be able to catch it.
>>2640303So can we talk about how this picture proves that Mari is absolute perfection
>>2649339We already knew that she was perfection, anon.
>>2649371I'm gonna be pissed off we don't fuck her
So anyone as disappointed as me about whatever the fuck this shit is? I didn't even have hopes for that game but it still managed to disappoint me
>>2649994I don’t know what the game is. Some sort of Pokémon Red or Blue remake, judging from the fact that Brock is in the background?
>>2650063I know what it is it's Let's go pikachu & Let's go eevee (remakes of gen 1, specifically Yellow version). I called it a "thing" cause I refuse to acknowledge that train wreck as a pokemon game
>>2650063Its a pokemon red/blue/yellow remake without wild battles and instead has pokemon Go mechanics.
>>2650128Why would you do that? It's basically guaranteeing it to fail out after a month.
>>2650158They are trying to get the massive pokemon Go crowd that existed at one point.
>>2650158They wanna sell more Switches so that more people will buy the next games because pokemon doesn't make enough money already I guess (absolute bullshit)
>>2650192>>2650165I'm just so tired of Nintendo at this point.
>>2650198Hey sun & moon were good. Really good in fact especially ultra sun moon
>>2650235Never got around to them honestly though they did look good. I mean that they just wring out the same 3-5 properties and try to shoehorn in some mechanic that's a flash I'm the pan or not fully realized at best. Maybe I'm just bitter.
>>2650240Im gonna buy the pokeball joycon honestly
>>2650240Ultra sun and moon are pretty much the undisputed hardest games in the series. And not the "I have more levels than you" difficulty like in a lot of rom hacks, it's actually creative and strategic especially the Totems. It's the first pokemon game I ever whited out in since I was a kid. It was a lot of fun especially with all the diverse pokemon you could useIf you want story the original sun and moon are usually agreed to have the best/2nd best story out of all the games with the only contender being Black & White. Ultra sun & moon kinda abandon the story. Even though I had fun playing both it might be a bit boring to play both the original and the enhanced versions too close to each other so I recommend you pick one depending on which you value more story or refinement and a nice challenge. I recommend buying ultra sun and moon cause all the new shit they add makes the game all the better and the story of the original, while really good in comparison of other pokemon games, is simply a decent story when compared to all of writing.>>2650255Why? You're only gonna encourage them to do more shit like that garbage fire by doing stuff like that
>>2650296That's a toughy. I feel like I'd get less if I don't get an ultra version but I've never played Pokemon for a challenge, I just like collecting mons. Hell if they had a game where you could actually pick a path I'd probably be a professor.
>>2650296I just want a pokeball that isnt a plush or cheap plastic
>>2650336Well then you're in luck. Ultra sun and moon (usum for short) have a regional dex of over 400 which is about half of every ever so it's great for experimenting with new mons especially since the extra difficulty might give you an incentive to try out different mons to try to come up with a way to counter the opponent. They did a similar thing to black & white 2 where they add a bunch of old pokemon to the map so you're team could be as diverse as possible. There's some really sun stuff like early game & Hawlucha, Zoara, and Buneary (which was surprisingly useful). The huge pokedex was one of the best changes usum made
>>2650369You underestimate how super pleb I am when playing. I've played the exact same since I traded my Pokemon cards for a gbc and a copy of gold when I was 8. I just beatstick my way through with type advantages and raw power. How rough am I going to have it?
>>2650377Hahahaha. You're gonna have a blast anon. A fucking blast I tell you. If you play how you say and you don't overlevel your team I guarantee you a wild ride. Veterans who play smart have had a lot trouble. Expect to change your playstyle at some point unless of the goddess of luck has some obsession with youBtw real men turn the exp share off. Although that could be a bit brutal for someone who plays like yourself
>>2650395Oh trust me I'm a wee babby when it comes to Pokemon games so I'll probably just leave the exp share on. I definitely don't have as much gaming time as I used too.
>>2650409Perfectly fine (*cough bitch cough*). Just a few warnings the game has a bunch of unskipable cutscenes and the beginning is around a 30 minutes tutorial (it was a fucking hour in the original sm) because game freak assume you're a retarded kid. Those are the only 2 complaints I can't deny no matter how much I love those games. Another complaint a lot of people have is that they're aren't gyms anymore. I personally think it's a much needed improvement since the replacement, trials and mainly totems, are much more strategic and creative while gym battles felt like glorified trainer battles with higher level pokemon imo but to each their own. Game freak wanted to make a vacation region (hence why it takes place in hawii) as a break from all the old shit and to try to give us new stuff and I think they did a great job. Sad a lot of the mechanics like SOS & totem battles will probably never come backFair warning the game is easily the most difficult but it's pretty easy to, for lack if a better term, cheese the game especially with the new Z-move gimmick, that almost nobody likes for some reason. If you lead out with a type advantage and just instantly use the Z-move in the beginning if battle the Totems can be significantly easier and even moreso if you're overleveled which the exp share makes incedibly easy to happenAnd also if you don't have a lot of time on our hands you might wanna ask a friend who plays pokemon if you have one because they probably know you better than a game reviewer of some loser on 4chan does. That should be the end of my gay rant about a game I love and is sadly underappreciated
>Scream for Chiwip to come in.>Try and get Paddlefrop off yourself and calm it down.>Drop the treats and run for the bag.
>>2650438>>Try and get Paddlefrop off yourself and calm it down.
>>2650438>>Scream for Chiwip to come in.Hero girl to the rescue!
>>2650434Nah I'm probably the holdout on Pokemon amongst my friends. It's probably the last one I'll play since I'm not getting the switch anytime soon if ever. The vastly different style is what made me even want to pick it up in the first place. Thanks for the recommendation friendo.
>>2650438>>Scream for Chiwip to come in.
>>2650434>underappreciatedDude. Its still pokemon. Theres a ton of other games out there that deserve love but people dont even know exist.
>>2650438>Try and get Paddlefrop off yourself and calm it down.Paws are wide and it doesn't look like his jaw is unhinged so I think we're fine. He probably is just excited.
>>2650438>Scream for Chiwip to come in.I am not angry, just disappointed
>>2650438>Scream for Chiwip to come in.Oh god it's mauling our face! That's fucking brutal! Kill it! Kill it with fire- or electricity in this case>>2650444Glad I could be if help. Hope you have a blast like me
>>2650447I meant underappreciated in terms of pokemon games. There are tons of people who hate on this game mainly because "hurr durr no gyms" and refuse to keep an open mind. If you extend the definition of underappreciated to everything ever like that then nothing is truly unappreciated
>>2650441>>2650446>>2650452Guys look at the picture. It honestly looks like he's licking our face. Half his face was opened when we saw his chompers. And neither of his paws that could wreck us are facing forward.
>>2650471How does it look like it's licking our face? There's nothing to imply either way so wouldn't it be safer to assume it's attacking us especially with those teeth. And you could very easily say that it's trying to get a grip on our shirt so it can continue to attack our fucking face
>>2650488Honestly it's a headbutt at worst and anything chipwip does might hit us too. Arms definitely don't look like they're in any position to grip our shirt. I'd rather not have attack be the default when a pic is unclear.
>>2650438>Try and get Paddlefrop off yourself and calm it down.
>>2650438FineChange >>2650452To>call chiwip to get the bag to our free hand
Paddlefrop is clearly smelling the poketreats from our breath and is about to send his frog tongue down our mouth for it
>>2650518We did just eat one. That makes a shocking amount of sense.
>>2650504How is it a headbutt at worst? At worst we're getting our face bitten off! We're looking at the back of it's head so of course it's not gonna seem like it's jaw is unhinged. The back of the head doesn't change at all when you open your mouth. That's basic anatomy. And you're acting like we just attacked it when it took one step forward. IT JUMPED ON OUR FUCKING FACE! A WILD POKEMON WITH TEETH THAT LOOKS STRAIGHT FROM A LOVECRAFTIAN HORROR STORY IS ATTACKING OUR FACE! We're completely justified in defending ourselves whether it had good intentions or not it's completely it's fault. Cubcoal biting us when we tried to pet it when eating but this is way to far. >>2650518? If that's the case why didn't it go for the bag
>>2650531Can't smell them through the bag but can on our breath? As for the jaw thing I didn't mean the back of his head, but that the sides opened so wide we'd see at least a sliver of it in the pic.

>>2650677>>2650721Princess Guard Quest. And not the okish reboot that happened on April fool's this year. You were a guard named Reinhold who the qm did everything in their power to make useless. A shortlist of his sins include: Making every character more powerful than the mc and no that never changes, making the one thing he was good at literally the worst thing in setting, the one time this wasn't the case our rival cheated and one after double 20s anyway due to having a weapon that he said would NEVER BE SEEN IN SETTING AS THEY WERE TOO STRONG NO YOU DON'T GET ONE, when the waifu he liked was losing her pushed her super hard in a last ditch effort for the players to pick her, having the waifu that WAS picked get kidnapped and molested, have the final boss who had been sensing our movement through the ground GET BLINDED BY DIRT TO THE EYES. I'm sure there's more that I missed but if you want to know how not to QM you look at PGQ. Not to say glacier is anywhere near close, but Arch would get pissy if he even thought you might be taking a jab at him, even in jest.

THAT one was a shining example of putting too many titles into a crossover and failing every single one and having such a hard-on for Psychics(no you're party's psychic sucks balls as soon as you get a bad roll) that instead of nerfing it the QM just gave Fighting a WEAKER version of Psychic. When in a stealth mission with only half the party and one dude wanted to go in anyway, he expected us to FIGHT HIM so he would stop. Right outside the stealth target. In a forest. The dude had Fire type. There was also some shit about trying to mash pokemon and monster hunter conventions together such that the end result NPCs put all points into Retard Strats and Make Everyone Your Enemy.>>2650438this is why you need to post fast. >>2650728I know you're talking about the actual thing cause I refuse to acknowledge that april fools joke that got dragged out until it stopped being funny. I never seen PGQ and say whatever you want about the qm but at least he had his own idea and didn't try to take someone else's. (By the way is that train wreck on legs still going? I haven't seen it in while)And man thanks for the history lesson. I never knew quite possibly the most popular quest on this board was a victim of such an obvious problem. It's really interesting. I'm decently new in the large scope of things (I actually didn't know what PGQ or Magical Girl Noir were before I saw that april fools joke) but i knew about how the mc was borderline fodder and getting magic was meme but I didn't know it was that bad. I knew at some point in the history of this board there had to be one qm that doesn't understand the basic mechanics of player choice that everyone could look at and see as an example what happens when you don't listen to your players but I didn't expect it to be such a large and influential one. But I can kinda sympathise with him. If I ever became a qm I can definitely see myself doing that if I ever got attached. Not the making winning waifu get raped out of salty revenge cause mine didn't win, that's too far & unnecessary (did we at least get to take her virginity first?). That's why whenever making a story for D&D or maybe a quest if I'm bored enough one day I like to take the model of writing a canon story line so that if shit goes down hill in the game I still always have the actual story so it doesn't really matter to me as much if a character dies and I can just laugh it off. Though that brings into question the possible problems of turning a story into a game but I'm still figuring it all out.Btw is the qm still trying to make PGQ into a visual novel. That might work better than a quest where ANYTHING could happen
>>2650890Yup he raised like 100k or something ridiculous for it as well. The April fool's thing was alright, that qm probably just could have used his own concept instead of slapping PGQ on it and been fine. Don't think it's still up though. The winning waifu didn't get raped, only molested. We were "lucky" enough to catch up to him before then. MGNQ is actually back (sort of) so that's not actually a joke. Basically all the popularity went to the qms head (I mean there were enough LCDs in it to get a huge crowd) to the point where if things weren't going how he wanted the MC got punished while his "cooler" characters solved everything. Last I heard Arch still thinks he ran the first and last greatest quest ever. Popularity doesn't equal quality.
>>2651074Just looked it up and it raised 20,000 when the goal was 10,000. 3 people donated 1000 by themselves. Some autists have too much money. Apparently the demos out is on version 1.4 so I might give it a playthrough today or tomorrow. If I enjoy the game should I take the time to read PGS?And yeah MGNQ is back. It was long as shit so when I heard about it in the PGQAF thread and looked it up and found like 300 threads so I thought it ended but then a new chapter came out soon after and I thought it was a late april fools joke but no it's still going on somehow>Last I heard Arch still thinks he ran the first and last greatest quest ever. Popularity doesn't equal quality.Does he actually think that mess was a masterpiece? What an egocentric asshole. Was he one of those qms who refuse to admit they're wrong and get super mad at the players when they critique him?
>>2651128Yea he was exactly that qm. PGQ is worth a read if only for the history of it all and to see what an ACTUAL shitstorm looks like. I'd you have time to kill MGNQ is actually a pretty good read. Still waiting on Re: Spider quest to come back.
>>2651172My problem with MGNQ was all the fan omakes and shit at the end of each thread which ended up being super plot important but were also all fucking awful
>>2651190Oh I flat ignored those. They don't actually effect anything. They just give context to some stuff but I never felt like I missed something.
>>2651172MGNQ doesn't really interest me. I could at least read the first chapter of PGQ because even though I hate the generic fantasy setting the animeness kept me intrested. But for MGNQ I couldn't get past the first thread the art style turns me off. What's it even about? Is it a noir mystery story with magical girls or is it just generic magical girl shit and the mc is named noir. There's obviously the length which is pretty intimidating but I've got a lot of time on my hands (I wouldn't be talkng about the history of a 4chan board on someones pokemon quest if I didn't)The he'll is Re: Spider quest? I've at least heard of PGQ & MGNQ before I did "research" on it but never even heard of that one. I think the only one mentioned around the same amount, if not more, as those 2 was Homeless Mutant quest
>>2651211Noir and Warhammer shit with magical girls instead of space Marines and shit. And it's RE: Monster quest EX. Forgot that there were choices for creature in thread one. It spawned all the Re: whatever quests. Loved the system Reqm used and the characters. Story was starting to kick up past the initial SoL stuff and then he just kinda stopped.
>>2651219I don't think it's the same thing you're talking about but I read something similar to what your describing called Monster quest. It was about a Wisp named Zeldren or whatever but he eventually got captured by an orc or something. Then it became shit when we switched to new character. I know it had a reboot or something but I never bothered reading it. Doubt it's what your talking about though. It was pretty recent all things considered. One of the first quests I ever got into but after reading other quests I realized there was much much better out there
>>2651266Nah RE: Monster started with us getting spattered by a train and picking what to reincarnate as. We picked the dryad option. Leveling up was from exp and you'd get a new evolution by accomplishing feats or getting blessings. Went through childhood with our siblings who ended up specializing in different things like weaving or magic. Grew up and made friends with other monsters. Started a merc company kind of and became ambassadors for the monster Forest like the spider queen of old. Ran a dungeon that I've completely stole for when I dm campaigns. Started making the forest great again and made a bitchin halberd before the qm just stopped.

>>2653873>>2653952Aight thanks, wasn't sure if I missed something.
Here's hoping Paddlefrop is a three stage pokemon, or at least gets a better ability after evolving given Damp is one of the least useful abilities out there. Though in any case once we have fevine as well we'll have pretty solid coverage for our early game team.
>>2655529Having him as a three stage Pokemon would be nice, though at least with this being more like the anime that sort of thing doesn't matter quite as much as it usually does. But yeah, with Fevine we'll have four solid Pokemon to work with, with good type coverage. Maybe a fifth after our gym battle with Hannally (I feel like I spelled that wrong), though I'm not too sure how I'd feel about a bug type with our current set up.
>>2655581I could see a bug type being interesting, though it really depends on what is available. I'm more worried about the possibility of getting another redundant grass type, though I suppose having Fevine as a more direct offensive type while we have a support or debuff oriented one could work in that case, though that really depends on if there are any fungus based pokemon in the gardens given they tend to have the best status ailment moves of grass types, along with abilities like effect spore.
>>2653952So is there going to be an update tonight glacier, or should I get some sleep?
>>2656173Just get some sleep man, the format means it takes a bit for Glacier to do each post, chances are unless you sleep for 12+ hours you'll be awake in time to weigh in on the next decision.

>>2662232What other roll did we fail? Also people underestimate rolls in the 50-60 range. Sure it isn't incredible but does it really need to be? No. We got an average roll and an average guy in his 20s can definently lift a girl of her size. Especially if that arm day stuff was real
>>2662260This would be the first, thus the concerns about setting a precedent. I mean, we also got shot down by the nurse when some twits voted to ask for her number, but I don’t think that required a roll.

Unless they've got some sort of train system running over or under the water between the different regions, which I'd imagine is rather unlikely, since everyone seems to take ships between regions, Hoenn's probably the only place you could take a train to Maho from. Unless Hoenn is connected to some other region and Cole just passed through it on the way to Maho, which seems unlikely.>>2662749I'd imagine it's less that it was only discovered recently so much as it was only recently explored and settled.
>>2662300>Off to Claribar!Still gotta check in with the professor. >Something urgent occupying all the officer's time.Wait did we miss the obligatory early game villain attack?
>>2662879Shit meant for >>2662302
>It's been over 36 hours since the last update
>>2665581Eh, it's just one night. I'm not concerned.
>>26656401 night? 36 hours is 2.5 days. It's been 3 nights worth of time since the last update
>>2665723>a day is 24 hours>36 hours are 2.5 daysYour math is way off, anon, GMs aren't machines and given the drawn format used for the quest you're lucky it updates as frequently as it does, Chill.
>>2665723Glacier more or less updates once or twice a day, in the middle of the night (In my time zone anyways), barring that one time they updated in the middle of the day, and they’ve only missed one night of updates. They were probably just preoccupied last night or something.
>>2665738I meant 1.5. I thought that was obvious but I guess not. And we usually don't have to wait this long for an update. We usually get at least one update a day and because of Glaciers weird schedule we have no idea if he's busy or not so were kinda just left in the dark waiting for the radio silence to end. That's kinda scary especially after last time where it lasted so long that it seemed like he wasn't gonna come backAnd you're acting like I'm freaking out at glacier for not updating even though that's clearly not the case. I'm just eager for the next injection of cuteness
I hope Glacier is alright
>>2666149Are you okay Glacier? How has been your day/night?
>>2666243[It's been good! Sleep schedule has sort of spiraled out of control and it conflicts heavily with my work schedule so trying to balance it out so I can get those updates out!]
>>2666372Sort yourself, your wellbeing is #1 priority. Forcing out updates if you feel like collapsing will just burn you out.We can wait, so take care of yourself. I hope I didn't come out too harsh or nagging, if so I apologize.
>>2662302She's fucking tiny
>>2667501Anon stop necroing this goddamn thread and give it a rest already.Counting down the hours like an actual autist is not '''cute''' or '''eager''' its fucking annoying
>>2667591Getting unironically annoyed at and complaining about someone making a joke post on 4chan is equally if not more autistic and annoying you actual fucking retard
>>2667629Okay but actually shut the fuck up you wingey little prick, nobody gives a shit just be patient.
>>2667938Are you stupid or just plain retarded? I could the same about you, you mentally challenged monkey. Nobody asked for your response either. Nobody gives a shit. Just ignore it when someone makes a post you don't like on 4chan you fucking crybaby
>>2667981>Here's a paragraph on ignoring posts you don't like on 4chan>In response to a post they don't like on 4chanOk
>>2667993... you do realize that it was an example to prove how flawed his logic is right?
>"What does your grandma need an egg for?">"What's inside of that egg?">"Why's your grandma in Maho anyways?"
>>2668186>>"Why's your grandma in Maho anyways?"
>>2668186>"Why's your grandma in Maho anyways?"
>>2668186>"What does your grandma need an egg for?"
>>2668186>>"What's inside of that egg?"
>>2668186>"Why's your grandma in Maho anyways?">"What's inside of that egg?">>2668184>"Going on an adventure with my best friends">Best friendsWe literally just met her... poor Mari
>>2668186>"What does your grandma need an egg for?">"Why's your grandma in Maho anyways?"The second one if we can only pick one option though. Also, I'm just going to take a shot in the dark and guess her grandmother's maybe the ice type gym leader around these parts.
>>2668292I didn't realize it at first but god, she is a pretty lonely person isn't she?Let's be good to her.
>>2668334Why an ice type gym leader? If there is one they would probably be near Whisper Peak. That's way to far away from here.>>2668466Agreed we should be her best friend and do best friend things. Like headpats and cuddles every night
>>2668532Yeah, and she is. She said her grandma lives in Frostshrine Town. Which, according to the map (And name), is the town that's closest to Whisper Peak.
>>2668582Man didn't even notice that. Was to distracted by the princess carry and Mari's loneliness
>>2668532"These parts" might have been a bit misleading, I meant Maho in general, rather then this corner of it.
>>2668594Also, we should totally take her there. We might have to backtrack to hit Ebindale and Riverglade, since she's on a timer and will probably want to take the direct route, but unless Aspen has some assignments he needs done there we can afford to take our time. We're not exactly in a hurry, and Mari doesn't appear to be either.
>>2668608Agreed I wouldn't mind tagging along with that cutie for a while longer
>>2668186>"What does your grandma need the egg for?">>2668608>>2668624We must protect Rose and her smile.
>>2669317It's gonna be pretty hard for her to smile when we give her all those French kisses anon

>>2669719>"If she's hiding it from you she's probably protecting you from knowing something.">”Maybe we can have the professors in Claribar take a look at it, if you really want to know.”That’s totally not super suspicious or anything.
>>2669719>"Well, if your mom didn't feel the need to tell you then it's probably not a big deal."And>"If she's hiding it from you she's probably protecting you from knowing something."
>>2669719>>"Well, if your mom didn't feel the need to tell you then it's probably not a big deal."Or maybe grandma just wants to be the first person the poke sees once it hatches. Imprint on it, and you've got a friend for life.
>>2669719I swear, every time I think I’ve mostly got your upload schedule figured out, you throw a curveball like this.
>>2669719>>"Well, if your mom didn't feel the need to tell you then it's probably not a big deal."
>>2669719>"Well, if your mom didn't feel the need to tell you then it's probably not a big deal."
>>2669719Well, it's not like she can't call her mom when back in town right?
>>2669719Maybe she wants it to be a surprise to the both of you?
>>2669719>"Well if your mom didn't feel the need to tell you then it's probably not a big deal.">>2669654Kalosian kissing anon.
[ hello all! I have a big event planned tomorrow from 5am - 7pm, so I'll be starting new thread on Sunday! ]
>>2671253see ya then
>>2671253I'm assuming it's already past 12 where you are, and by tomorrow you mean Sunday, so see you then.
>>2671272Glacier is in est I believe so it's still Friday for him
>>2669719>"Well, if your mom didn't feel the need to tell you then it's probably not a big deal."sounds like she doesn't need to risk her life just to make sure the egg gets there in time.
>>2671253So uh, about that event...
>>2669719>"Well, if your mom didn't feel the need to tell you then it's probably not a big deal."We don't need to be paranoid.
