>>260954>>260961“Actually,” you admit, “my name is Alexander Greyson.” There you said it. You admit it was weird but kind of fun having people call you by another name.“So you came here under false pretenses?” Robert says slyly. Fuck. You didn’t think about that. Is that an illegal thing to do? Yeah it’s probably illegal. Does that mean they’ll take your license away? You just didn’t want anyone recognizing you, not that that’s a problem anymore since you showed your face on TV.“Um, yes?” You say. The next few moments feel tense.“Eh, it’s no problem,” Robert says, waving his hand around nonchalantly. You sigh with relief. After a few keystrokes and your confirmation, Robert prints out your trainer card. You eagerly look over it and notice that it says Novice Trainer S-rank. “Hey Robert, mind explaining what’s on this thing?”“I was going to get to that,” he says. “Trainer cards are special licenses given to trainers deemed worthy by the Pokemon League Association. Regardless of rank, every trainer starts out with a Novice Trainer card, and they move up the rank with badges, further exams, or with time. It automatically stores all your money, and by using it you get trainer discounts in several places. For example, we have a store here in the Pokemon Center. It only offers the basic stuff, but since you have a trainer card everything should be cheap.”“Thanks Robert,” you say. “For everything.” He simply nods his head in response. With that taken care of, you realize it’s still nighttime outside. You…>Decide to head home to sleep.>Ask for a room here in the Pokemon Center.>Check out the shop here in the Pokemon Center.>Say fuck it and decide to go look for wild pokemon.
>>261039>>Check out the shop here in the Pokemon Center.>if Robert is still around ask if he knows a place where we can get a pokedex.
>>261058I'll support this.
“Oh, well that’s pretty simple,” Robert says. He pauses for dramatic effect, but you’re pretty sure he likes to see you squirm. “You can purchase the simple ones at any Devon Corp store. There’s plenty around town, but they aren’t open this late. Of course, you could ask one of the professors at Chante U to take you on as an assistant. That’ll give you the high tech kind, kind of like the one I own.”With that said, you offer Robert a thanks and good night. He returns the favor. You decide to head over to a back area and see a sleepy clerk behind a counter. He asks to see your trainer card, and holds it near his face to get a better look at it. He looks confused for a moment, switching between looking at the card and then looking at you. He jolts up with renewed energy. “Hello, sir,” he says a little excitedly. He hands you your trainer card back. “Since your rank is so high, we have a larger selection of items for you to choose from. Here they are:Pokeball – 200 pokeGreat ball – 600 pokePotion – 300 pokeSuper potion – 700 pokeAntidote – 100 pokeParalyze Heal – 200 pokeAwakening – 250 pokeBurn Heal – 250 pokeIce Heal – 250 pokeRevive – 1500 poke”You’re a little surprised at these prices. Pokeballs were so much more expensive before you got a license. You’re also not used to store clerks showing you so much respect, but you suppose that’s going to be norm now.So, what do you buy? [You have 3000 poke.]

>>261139Seconding this, also we should offer to be an assistant to a Professor
“I’ll have 3 potions, 1 antidote, and 1 revive,” You say. The clerk rings up your items and puts them in a plastic bag. You debate between asking him to keep the plastic bag or just keeping quiet and accepting it.You decide keeping quiet gives you a more regal aura or whatever. You’re just trying to look cool, dammit. You look at your trainer card and see that you only have 500 poke left. Welp, this means you’ll either have to do a few mission requests or fight some trainers. “Hey, uh,” you look at the name on his tag. “Robin, you wouldn’t happen to know what TM this is, do you?” You hand the mystery TM to him and he looks at it closely for a bit. Robin puts the TM under some kind of machine and you see a loading bar appear on one of the monitors. It goes by fairly quickly. “Turns out this the TM for Rock Tomb,” he says. You thank the clerk and he wishes you luck on your journey. With that out of the way, you…>Decide to head home to sleep.>Ask for a room here in the Pokemon Center.>Say fuck it and decide to go look for wild pokemon.>Do something else [specify what].

>>261173>>261184Now that you’re stocked up, you start feeling the fatigue of a day well spent. You did run around for a few hours(?) without much food in your belly, and you feel the need for sleep. You stifle a yawn as you leave the Pokemon Center. Warily, you check your surroundings for any suspicious people, but there’s only a few people walking or a few cars driving by. You look up at the sky to see the moon is at first quarter, with only the right side being lit up.You decide to take the long way, since the buses might not be running at this hour or if they are, they tend to take a while. As you walk, you let Aron out of its pokeball. You figure you ought to spend more time with the little guy. He stretches out the same way your mom’s Purrloin does when it first wakes up. He looks pretty happy to see you though. It’s pretty fresh out and you both enjoy the silent trek. Aron periodically looks up at you, and you smile at him each time. He always gets a kick out of that.A rustling ahead makes you pause. You hold out your hand to stop Aron from walking further. You hold a finger to your lips but Aron just looks at you with a confused expression. Man, you’re going to have to teach these guys what some hand signs mean. As you start to sneak forward, Aron seems to catch your drift and starts trying to make as little noise as possible. You see a trashcan shake occasionally as something sifts through it. You try to sneak past, but Aron accidently crunches on a leaf. Immediately the trash can stops moving. You both look at each other before looking behind you. The trash can falls to its side and a teal Pokemon with a cream spot on its chest walks out. It has big round eyes and large pointy ears on its round head, and its head is teal on the top and cream colored on the bottom. It eats an apple core whole before noticing you and Aron.Aron steps in front of you and assumes a combative stance. The teal pokemon just stands there. You…>Order a headbutt. >>261247>>261251Time to get the upper hand. “Aron, use harden!” You command. Aron pulls his head and legs as close to his body as possible, mimicking a turtle. You notice that Aron’s steel skin looks shinier. The wild pokemon decides to just sit down and watch you both. Uh…>Headbutt. You can’t just sit down in the middle of a battle!>Harden again. You’ll be impenetrable. >Aron probably knows more moves. Try a move it could know [which one?].>Hold on. Is this not a battle?>Item?>Just walk away.

>>261264>>261266>>261271You order another harden just in case the wild Pokemon is trying to trick you. Aron goes through the same motions and looks much tougher. You wouldn’t want to run into that. The wild pokemon is still sitting down on the sidewalk. It scratches at its body but does nothing else. You’re… Starting to think it isn’t hostile. You tell Aron to back off and it does so hesitantly. You decide to get a closer look and Aron decides to stay close to you, ready for action. There’s no collar on it and it was on the trash, so there’s no way this can be someone’s pokemon unless it ran away. You decide to crouch in front of it.“Hi there,” you say, as you extend your hand. Your mom taught you that Pokemon like to get to know your scent before they can start trusting you. It looks at your hand curiously. Then it bites your hand. Motherfuck. You yell out in surprise and pain, and Aron takes that as a cue to use headbutt. The wild pokemon is thrown back, but thankfully your hand is free. There isn’t too much blood, but it stings sharply. The wild pokemon gets up and starts wiggling its hand. Phantom swords momentarily surround it before disappearing. What the heck was that? You order Aron to…>Use headbutt again! Show this guy who’s boss.>Harden. That sword thing didn’t look good.>Let you use an item on it.>Come back. It’s Larvitar’s turn.>Run away. >>261401true and moms just want us home ya know
You know it’s late, but it’s not that late. Aron looks at you curiously as you open the gate to get into the front yard. He follows you inside. You use the spare house key hidden in the pot near the door to unlock it. After you put it back, you open the door to the familiar entryway. Stairs lead up to your room and a guest room; an opening to the left leads to the living room; there’s a door to the right near the stairs that leads to the garage; and a hallway going forward leads to the rest of the house. You see your mom nodding off on a sofa in the living room. It seems like she was waiting for you to get home, since the loveseat is facing the doorway instead of the TV. She looks so peaceful, and her Purrloin, Mr Whiskers, just eyes you from its usual spot on her lap. You decide it’s best to let her know you’re home. With an audible click, you release Larvitar and your newly caught Pokemon. The soft glow scares Mr Whiskers. It hisses before running to hide underneath the couch. Larvitar hides behind your pants leg and the new pokemon just looks around curiously. You see your mom’s eyes open, and you tell her, “Hey mom, I’m home.” You kind of expect some kind of lecture for being late and forgetting to call her, but instead she looks at all your pokemon then you before smiling. “You look just like your father,” she says before coming up to hug you. You try not to wince at that comment. After the hug she looks at each of your Pokemon in turn.“Timid Larvitar, well bred. Adamant Aron, also well bred. Looks like they should both know baby moves they inherited from their parents.” You always wondered how she could just tell these things from a single glance, though you suppose Larvitar’s timidity was pretty obvious.“Yeah, you’re right as always, mom,” you say. “Larvitar knows Dragon Dance and Dig, but I’m not sure what Aron knows.”She looks at it closely. She waves for you to get closer and you do. “You see these small scales under his steel shell?” Huh, now that she mentions it, you do. “Well that means this little guy’s dad must’ve been a Garchomp. It probably knows Dragon Rush.” Wow. That sounds incredibly useful.“And that one,” she moves on to your new Pokemon. “This Munchlax isn’t specially bred, but it looks like she had a trainer previously. You see the way her fur isn’t matted or the fact that she’s a healthy weight? And look, she seems to be comfortable inside a human home.” It’s true. Your Munchlax decided to sit on the couch. And she didn’t exactly run away or show fear when you battled her. You nod your head, and your mom turns her attention towards you.“Thanks for the analysis mom,” you say. It’s always nice to get a professional’s help.“Of course, sweety,” she says. “Now tell me, how did your trainer registration exam go?”You…>Tell her every detail.>Tell her the basics.>Tell her some generic stuff.>Tell her something else.

>>261491>>261492>>261493>>261501This is your mom after all. You feel like you can trust her. “Okay, so get this…” you begin. You tell her how you woke up late and had to run to barely make your appointment. She tells you she remembers. You mention this other girl that was there that day to take her exam too though you’re not sure how that went. She nudges you and winks, but you ignore that. You tell her about the three packages and she says she would’ve chosen the popular package. When you get to the part about choosing Larvitar, you decide to pet him, and he bounces around in joy. You tell your mom about the cave and Robert and how you caught Aron. She tells you everyone messes up and that since you have three Pokemon now, you obviously learned from your mistakes. You’re glad she didn’t make fun of, but since she’s your mom of course she wouldn’t.You tell her about the earthquake(?) and you see her go quiet. As you describe your daring siege into Team Invictus’ operation, you see her hang on your every word. She comments every now and then, mostly about the female grunt, but she for the most part lets you tell your tale. You tell her about the spire and its weird effects. When she asks if you’re okay and puts her hand on your forehead, you tell her you’re fine. The effects were only temporary. You tell her about waking up in the Pokemon Center then about your dinner with Rogers, swearing her into secrecy about all the events that transpired. She says of course she’ll keep your secret, then she mentions that maybe you should both turn on the TV to check the news. You do so.(1/2)
You see your face on TV. Surreal. Somehow it looks different than the face that stares at you from across the mirror. The guy on the TV actually looks cool and confident. Neat.“Who is this mysterious young man?” A female reporter commentates. “Could he be a new recruit?”“No way,” a male news anchor responds. “They were both wearing casual clothing, and there’s no uniform in sight.”“Yeah, but that doesn’t mean anything,” she says. “He might not have gotten one.”“You didn’t join the heroes, did you?” Your mom asks. You shake your head no, your eyes glued to the TV.“No but that restaurant is a known romantic spot,” the female reporter says. “Only couples can get in.” Wait what. You think back to that dinner and now you realize why something felt off. There were only two people per table. You feel your face turn red, but you keep watching. “There’s been rumors that Rogers likes men since no one has been able to confirm any previous girlfriends.”“Maybe he just likes to keep his private life private,” the male news anchor counters.“The moment he decided to be in the public eye, he gave up any semblance of privacy,” she says.“And you think the same is true of this mysterious young man?” He asks.“Certainly,” she says.Your mom turns the TV off. The silence is palpable. “No mom, we weren’t on a date. I’m not even sure if I like guys.” She doesn’t comment. Instead she asks to hear the rest of the story. You tell her about your battle with Munchlax.“Y’know honey, why haven’t you given your Pokemon nicknames yet? You know that studies show that trainers who nickname their Pokemon have stronger bonds.” (2/2)You…>Tell her you were actually planning on it.>Tell her you’d rather not.>Tell her something else.

Maybe I can help?” It looks like your mom is excited about the prospect of nicknaming pokemon. You remember helping her hatch plenty of Pokemon eggs as a child and you two would always nickname each one, even if it belonged to a trainer. Most actually liked the nicknames enough to keep them.“Alright,” you agree. “Let’s start with Larvitar. I was thinking of…”[Here’s some suggestions from last thread:]>Gram>Kojira>Simon>Gojira>LavitzAnd >>261559>AjaxFeel free to suggest anything else. You move to the dvd shelf and pull out one of your favorite movies. You crouch down and show it to Larvitar. “This was one of my favorite movies growing up. You see the monster on the cover?” You make sure to show it to Larvitar who looks from it to you. “That monster’s name was Gojira, and it was the strongest monster in all the land.” You fail to mention that it was technically a villain, but Larvitar looks like he has stars in his eyes.“Well Gojira,” you say, trying the name out. “It looks like you have great tastes.” Gojira nods his head. He seems happy with his new name.“Next,” you say, turning to look at your Aron. “Oh, what about Ferric or Atlas?” Your mom asks.“I was partial to Hephaestus,” you say. “But ultimately, it’s up to Aron to choose its name. Perfect, you think. “Do you like your name, Vulcan?” You ask, and it nods. Now you just need one more. You think of protesting since you're basically an adult but to be honest, you feel really tired. "Yeah, that sounds like a good plan," you tell her. When she suggests you put your Pokémon in a kernel in the back, you veto that idea. They're sleeping near you. You go upstairs to your room and find your pokegear blinking. There's a few messages from your mom and one from your neighbor challenging you to a battle. There's also a mysterious message from an unknown number. "I saw your face on the TV. Meet me in the park tomorrow at 3 pm. I'll be waiting until 6." Who could that be? A hero? No. They would've known about the meeting. The female grunt? Possibly. [Alright guys. That's it for today. >>264231standard peach-coloured skin (probably, I don't know anything about the region QK has elected to set this quest in), for now. as we adventure more and more, we'll most likely move more toward olive/tanned skin -- and depending on how lightly we dress *wink wink* an accompanying tanline.
>>262959>>264052How old is Alex?
>>264957I would assume he's 10 years old, as that's the age given in the games/series/manga for when children become eligible to earn their license. I do however remember something in the 1st thread about 'the hobby getting more dangerous' so perhaps the age-restriction has increased -- in this setting.Until QK gives confirmation, we can only assume that our MC is the minimum age for becoming a registered trainer, especially given the enthusiasm we've displayed for the prospect....... so, yeah probably 10yo
>>264957>>265026Alex is actually 16. That's why he figures he's basically an adult.
>>265090So what's your policy on romance?
>>265229I'm not against writing it. There are plenty of potential companions and they will all be romanceable probably.
>>265288How about smut/lewds? Will they be ftb? Paste binned? Written out?
>>266197Sorry guy, I won't do smut bins. You guys can feel free to write your own though.
>>266197Hopped in, saw this, hopping out.
This >>266611 is me, dropped my trip. Anyway, it is with great dismay that I have to inform you guys that I won't be able to run on Friday (tomorrow) . Something came up and I feel bad that I can't keep my word, so I'll run an extra long session on Saturday (starting at noon central time) to make up for it.
>>267229Sounds good chap hope all is well!
Before we start, here's the Pokemon Sheet: http://pastebin.com/DqdcTfigInformation will be filled out the more you learn about each one.
You wake up to a chirping sound outside your window and the vague scent of pancakes in the air. It’s a pleasant way to wake up. You automatically sit up, habit dictating that you start strategizing for the upcoming battle simulations at trainer school. A quick glance at the floor helps you realize that you finally moved passed that point in your life. You don’t have to deal with the other competitive students or the pranks they liked to play on you or each other. You never were much of a prank guy, but you suppose that could always change. You have three Pokemon now – three friends and partners. Satisfied, you stretch your sore limbs and let out a worry-free yawn. This seems to wake Robin up, and her movement causes Gojira and Vulcan to awaken as well. Man, you’re going to need some time to get used to these names. “Good morning, guys,” you say. The green reptilian stays under his blanket, giving you a grunt in response, but the chrome colored quadruped moves to your side and seems content when you pet him. Robin, for her part, has already left downstairs, and you decide to follow.Gojira and Vulcan stayed glued to your side as you make the trek downstairs. You hear an unusual noise, the sound of a crowd, outside the front door. Could there be some kind of parade today? A quick peek through the window dissuades this train of thought. The crowd outside consists of camera crews, fangirls(?), and various curious bystanders. Damn, those news people work fast. You decide to worry about it later, since they probably won’t just barge into your house. You follow the scent from earlier; it’s stronger now and you hear your stomach grumble in response to it. “Hey hero,” your mom calls out from behind the stove. “Looks like they found you already. Don’t worry though, the ones who tried to sneak through the back had a nasty surprise so that way is clear, and I think the secret tunnel underneath house should still be useable.”You grab some orange juice, put bowls on the floor, and give your Pokemon pokemon food. When you seat yourself on the counter, your mom hands you a plate and you start eating while in contemplation. You could go through the front and give them a statement, but you doubt they’d let you go easily. The back is fine, but there’s a chance someone could be waiting to ambush you. Finally, there’s the secret entrance, but wasn’t that filled with booby traps? You decide to…>Go out the front. End the chase.>Go out the back. Probably the safest route.>Go through the secret tunnel. It was built for this reason, despite the traps.>Do something else.
>>273357Thread is on autosage. Make a new one.
>>273357>>Go out the back. Probably the safest route
>>273363Alright. I'll do that in a moment.
>>273363>>273366It's on page 2 man were good. Got a day before falling of minimum.
>>273357>>Go out the front. End the chase.
>>273367>>273363Nevermind then. I'll finish today then archive the quest. New thread tomorrow probably.
>>273357>Go out the front. End the chase.Time to add to the mystique of selected speech.putting down my vote so that when they ask, we deliberately hold the silence; we simply reply in the style of Driver: "I train" "I battle" etc -- of course while impressing the ladies with our steely gaze (of course it's immature/corny, but Galvin's 16 this comes with the territory)
Decided to make a new thread anyways. While the board may be slow, I feel like it's best not to make everyone slog through all the previous posts. Here it is boys: >>273398(Please cast your votes once more.)
