Last Post Here: >>2536075Previously on Caster Quest we.. Largely kept around the lair: chickens and goats were taken care off, the lair was further expanded, pies were baked, we visited old and new friends, we even dug out a 'small' Goblin Lair in the basement for our new guests forthcoming (our Goblin having been sent out to go fetch us some new friends- specifically telling him we're looking for hard WORKERS), your first skeleton mage was animated (expanding your ability to control undead!) and we learned how to summon Snow Nymphs. The garden was made EVIL(er) by the addition of a few carnivorous plants, and we discovered two important plot points: one, is that the general Vampire populace doesn't know Catherine is a Demon & two, the Bee Women are expanding Honey Hill as Bee Mo- Er, their Queen is pregnant. These all, however, pale in comparison to our most important discovery: a mysterious and cryptic - perhaps one might say even EVIL - piece of the Phylactery Device. Excavated from the Eldin Mass Grave.. The Hill seem to see far less Undead activity with this disturbing machine part no longer buried in it. Strange indeed. Bee Mom is expecting many eggs and is puffy and swollen with hormonal fervance, so your company is well appreciated by the community, as is your contribution of metal tools scavenged from the undead and put to good use by the girls. It's a brand new day and a whole slew of adventures await us! Accepting new Actions.
>>2553666Shit, I'm always messing up the bold command. Anyway, here's our 'current position'.
Rolled 8 (1d20)>>255366>666Spooky number to start the quest with.Let's try learning more of that language while we're here, Bee Mom is a good tutor
Rolled 92 (1d100)>>2553673>>2553666Hey, welcome back!Go home on a magic cloud and make another gnoll zombie.
Rolled 15 (1d20)>>2553666But spend the day learning Cockagine first from the bee girls and bee mom.>not sure if d100 for research or d20 for action
>>2553690Not this. Anon you forgot that our gobby needs our cloud!
Rolled 16 (1d20)>>2553666Try to improve your summon wisp spell so that the wisps you summon are actually greater cold elementals.Ghost hand a shit, wisp lyfe.
>>2553696Kay. Do it without the cloud.
Rolled 7 (1d20)>>2553673Supporting that one Anon for learning Cockagine
Hey bait Anon. You here yet? I have an idea on how to attract undead if you're interested. We bury the Phylactery Device relatively close by and send our guys to capture the undead that are attracted by the Phylactery Device.
>>2553722All you have to do is create a shelter full of miasma and undead will come. Just a pit with a roof over it will do.
>>2553768That's true.Do you think we should worry about hoards of undead circling our estate?
>>2553688>>2553692>>2553707>Learn Cockaigne. >Roll 8, 15, 7, /20>Below, High Five, Lucky Seven- Decent success.Strictly speaking, from what you've come to understand: Bee Mom is the only one capable of talking, with her Daughters being seemingly being unable to speak- they're all just as intelligent and competent as one another, but there's obviously some sort of.. Brood Engineering going on in this species. Regardless, you spend an entire day with the Queen Laying ontop of you trying to learn Cockaigne- getting all yours "ouis' and "bonjours" and so forth into your system. >Cockaigne 40% >> 65% Your competency is at "Familiar". You can understand it, but can't quite speak or read it just yet. Once you're done there, on your 3rd day you make it back home. You could spend weeks with the Bees just loitering and lazily cuddling them and eating cakes, nuts n' berries, but you'd grow soft and you need to become powerful if you're going to defeat Catherine .. And maybe save Copse. >>2553690>Animate another Gnoll>92/100>Complete successIt takes you maybe an hour on foot, but once you get back home you need to start blowing off some of this stored Mana, so you decide the best way to do it is to animate another Rothide Gnoll.A simple task even if you hadn't gotten so good at it.>Current numbers: *3* x Rothide Gnoll, 1 x Rothide Gnoll (Hunter)With four Gnoll Zombies you're really starting to develop quite a little undead pack to be proud of.>>2553698>Try to improve your summon wisp spell so that the wisps you summon are actually greater cold elementals.>roll 16/20>I'll take it, but research is 100's for future reference. The last thing you get done for the day is some research on Wisps. You like Wisps. You like Ghost Hand and you like Wisps. Through the summoning, conjuring, and producing of Wisps the following:>Wisps aren't elementals, they're strictly Undead spirits: when you summon them you're making them out of algae and or microbe ghosts. >If you want to make an Ice or Cold Elemental: you'll need some great source of Primordial Elemental Frost- something your spells already operate on. >Your Snow Nymph under no uncertain terms when asked, tells you thusly, "That would be quite difficult my master, Primordial Ice is quite unheard of on your tropical world. Indeed, you're the first person to summon me in decades and my people don't remember a time when our kind could naturally pass over to your planet through environmental thematic osmosis." Then again, you made those Snow Golems.. Perhaps those shards could find you a work around? Your Goblin will be back soon with more Goblins. Please make a loot roll (d100) to see how well he's done. I'll also accept new action rolls now.

>>2553794I think you're thinking about Poe's. Those guys are significantly stronger than their lesser counterparts, and more difficult to control.
Rolled 14 (1d20)>>2553778This is my action roll. I want to make the larger block of ice or glacier we can manage outside our protective ring of sunflowers and wispy pumpkins. About fifty meters away so the cold doesn't affect the plants too much.

Rolled 36 (1d100)>>2553775I have a plan for that.
>>2553830That was my lackluster loot roll.
>>2553830To be fair, you were supposed to use a d100 instead of a d20 for research. Maybe something horribly fantastical won't happen, maybe it will.
You can sense your Dark Cumulus Cloud incoming in a couple of hours, so you figure you outta' stick around the lair 'till it arrives with your new friends. So you make yourself busy. >>2553795>Rolling to research ice cream using bee women honey and goats milk.>Roll 64/100>Success, above average, but rolling at disadvantage. By making some Ice Cream! You've had Ice Cream maybe three times in your life and it's always been made by either Gnomes or Wizards, well you're not a Gnome, but you can certainly make better ice than a Wizard, so you give it a try using Goat's Milk, Honey (normal for the first batch, you don't want to spoil the Bee Women's Honey), and a little bit of Vanilla your Goblin extracted on a whim. It's.. It's just 'ok'. Avarice Demon thinks it's great, your Snow Nymph says it's good, but she spits it out when you aren't looking- that's fair. You get the impression she'd know good icecream. >would that be enough to disguise the fact that they're undead?((Yes. If anything your Gnolls don't fucking stink like living ones do. ))>>2553801>Make as much Ice as you can. (That's how I'm interpretating it at least)>Roll 14/20 >Success, but rolling at a very large disadvantage. You're still bored, though, so the last thing you do for the day while there's still light out is to go outside, go far beyond your sunflower wall, and create as much ice as you possible can- just absolutely stretch out and see the upper limits of your power as it currently exists. >You're capable of freezing a 12ft by 12ft space entirely in a block of Ice. Anymore and your blood begins to thin and you get a headache. >Under 'ideal' conditions you might be able to expand that to 15ft, but it's about 26 Celsius outside. >>2553804>Let's do some research in enhancing some spells>Roll 1/20>Complete and total unarguable dangerous failure. Also wrong roll, again, research n' creation is d100.Even if whatever in your body wot makes mana is exhausted (you wana say the heart.. maybe the stomach) your brain still works, so you figure you'll sit down and get some cramming in before you head to bed. You have an accident. >Domain Mutation Achieved (1/3): Glowing Blue Eyes, "Your eyes are now a piercing, supernaturally-lit, shade of dull-white-blue akin to light passing through ice. This is a physical mutation: it allows you to see in the dark without hindering your day or colour vision, but you can't turn it off. " You feel.. Different? Somehow? You feel okay- actually, you feel great. You don't think you're near sighted anymore! Goblin Rolls INC.

>>2553900The skeleton mage raised capacity to 10.With the last gnoll zombie, we should be at capacity.
>>2553872>>2553790>>2553794>>2553796>84, 78, 84>Exceptional Rolls all around- doubles of a high number. Your Goblin comes home the next morning. Your Goblin's name is Chemmy , by the way- that's his actual name. We've just been referring to him as "The Goblin" because he's the only Goblin, but this is about to change. Chemmy rolls up on your Dark Cumulus and he's got with him what amounts to a small raiding party of Goblins with him, beside him, carrying luggage, supplies, tools, and so forth- there's even a particularly large one walking with them. This all looks very promising. Chemmy shouts you over, "Ey, LUV! GIT OUT 'ERE! WE GOT SUM NEW CUNTS ON THE PAY ROLL." >Chemmy has upgraded his Equipment: he has a proper Alchemist/Chemists attire and was able to salvage numerous tools. He's not magic, but that might be for the best- no paper trail.>Chemmy has 12 x Goblins: all of them boys, "No Sheilas, Love- you should know no Goblin Town would ever part with one, no matter how much of a shit hole they are." Chemmy assures you they are all skilled in basic labor: hunting, fishing, trapping, farming, etc. He assures you they are all also cute, but you can see that.>Chemmy has.. Also brought you 2 x Hobgoblin Women. "Consolation prize, love.. Or maybe this is a pleasant surprise?" They're both taller than you (about 6ft, nothing compared to an Amazon though) both visibly lean and muscular, and a little more well dressed (sarong, binders). Chemmy says they're tough and good fighters. You go through introductions and the day is largely spent taking them through worker orientation and housing them in the Goblin den you dug out for them. >>2553953Nothing hopefully. We only get three action rolls per update IIRC.
>>2553922>Raise that last gnoll zombie.>roll 51/100>Success.You raise your last Gnoll Zombie. You're out of bodies which, all the same: you've reached the limits your mind can currently handle even with the assistance of your Skeletal Mage extending your psychic broadcast range. You currently have:>5 x Gnolls all together. 4 are unequipped, 1 has a rifle/ammunition, enough to be considered a 'hunter' for tactic purposes at least. Had you the equipment and Dark Mana shards- you might be able to get yourself a little party of Gnoll Warriors out for some mischief, but until that happens they at least make decent workers and guards. >>2553926>>2553938>Feed and Ice Cream everyone.>roll 98/100>Success, maybe not what you wanted, but success.Everyone is hungry. Well, maybe not Avarice, but he could certainly eat at least. With all your new hands now available you have them help you in making a large feast for all your new minions to tuck into: cakes, honey, milk, roasted and baked vegetables, you fetch a deer from one of your old kills, you slaughter a goat and one of the chickens to bake in some banana leaves and a few vegetables, there's eggs, some fruit is foraged, all sorts of goodies are thrown together into a massive potluck. You realize you're going to have to find or acquire more food if you're going to be feeding so many living minions. You ask your minions if anybody wants Ice Cream and there's a huge ruckus of shouting expectant Goblins. The Snow Nymph calms you down though, "Master, please, let me handle the Ice Cream just this once." That's fine with you, is she going to help or- She tells you to unsummon her and wait approximately 30 minutes. While you're unsure how that will help your Ice Cream research, you do so. The Goblins become impatient and childish, but she's eventually called back and in her arms is a small crate made out of paper filled to the brim with frozen treats she calls 'popsicles': some sort of frozen treat attached to a small piece of wood. They are fantastic. You ask her how she did this, "Magic, Master." Accepting new Actions.
Rolled 50 (1d100)>>2553978Ask the Snow Nymph about the moon, the elves, and the gods up there.
Rolled 8 (1d20)>>2553992If I was supposed to roll a d20 for this since it's maybe conversation rather than strictly research, I'll roll it in this post.
>>2553978When it's night, have some of the goblins instruct the undead to til the fields to increase the size of our garden. So how well did the pie trap go? I don't remember if we caught anything. Also have the undead build a farm and send out some to capture some wild animals.
Rolled 3 (1d20)>>2553978forgot my action roll
>>2553997>undead increasing gardenDid you forget that undead kill living plants? We're not gonna do this and have a garden afterward.
Rolled 7 (1d20)>>2553978Expand our surface and mushroom farms to help feed our new minions
Rolled 19 (1d20)>>2553978Have the set up farms and or hunting parties. Also, whoops woke up a bit late from my nap.
Rolled 6 (1d100)>>2553978Research improving ghost hand
>>2554013Have the goblins*Guess I'm not even fully away yet.
>>2554004I did forget. woops.maybe we should buy some equipment from the Commune before more sweet treat related research can be done. Those 'popsicles' gave me an idea. maybe we should try cream and fruits next time.
>>2554004i mean I don't want them plant anything. Just til the soil so someone else can plant stuff.
>>2554004Don't forget we can use golems and goblins to build/maintain a bigger farm.As for the undead they can help build one sure but not with the plants themselves(unless its a necromantic plant).I would also like to bring up buying some more farm animals.
>>2554027Killing all the bacteria and worms in the soil that fertilize it is bad.We need to convert the skeleton mage to cast protection from good and evil spells on our undead agricultural workers and use intercropping with miasma-killing plants like pumpkins and other gourds (squash) planted in alternating rows with other crops to absorb the damage.>>2554033Our golems are mostly for cold storage and would do great making dairy treats or moving around frozen food. Our goblins are best used to manage the site in other ways and to handle alchemy. I think the issue of farming is one we just need to engineer our way out of.
>>2554027They can still pollute the soil making it hard for things to grow. Best fix for such polluted soil would be to just use it for pumpkin patches, probably.
>>2554036Clover is also helpful, which is great because clover is ideal pasture material, chokes out weeds, and looks good as a lawn.Honestly, we should be integrating a lot more clover into shit.
>>2554035We can create scarecrow golems remember? They work just fine in the sun. Although they are creepy.
>>2553996>Ask the Snow Nymph about the moon, the elves, and the gods up there.>Freebie. Sort of.In the midst of your icecream party, nursing on something the Nymph calls a "fudgesicle" you make light conversation by asking her about the Moon. What's it like up there? How are the Elves? How's everything in general? You don't actually know much about the Moon other then Elves and Rabbits are supposed to come from there."It's better, my Master. It is a chilly wind-swept place, but life is returning slowly, the people are kind and the Elves are thankfully few- having paid for their transgressions. Even if you had not summoned me- I would not have to worry about having a roof over my head nor' where my next meal came from, but your patronage is still immensely appreciated, Master." She muses a little, become a bit more casual in tone as she pontificates on the divine. "Hum, the spiritual economy has recovered, but I'd still say the upper echalons and heiarchies are still quite lacking on Nadia, though, really, this system has never been a very busy area. We've always been a bit out in the sticks." She notices she's begun to get a little over her head and reels herself back a bit. >>2554008>Expand our surface and mushroom farms to help feed our new minions>LUCKY 7The next morning everyone is put to work. The Goblins complain and the fight for the bathroom is feirce, but eventually you get everyone organized and in line. The Hogoblins seem eager to return to work. Your first order of business is food expansion, specifically the further cultivation of the Termite Fungi you have growing and with as many Gobbies as you have this is a cinch. Chemmy is already quite skilled and he supervises a full expansion with more logs, spread out fungi, the works.>Fungi Planter is now Fungi 'Field': "Half a dozen logs kept partially rotten, perfect for growing a sizable crop of Fungi- something Undead can eat beyond flesh and blood. " >>2554013>Have the set up farms and or hunting parties. Also, whoops woke up a bit late from my nap.>19- Near perfect, complete, and total success. From there onward you focus your efforts on equipping and intructing the Goblins to set out on Hunting and Farming parties: tending and expanding the fields, looking for more feral livestock to corral, establishing some decent pasture field to expand what your goats can eat n' so on and so forth. It's raining, sure, but many Goblins make much work easy. >Farm fields: "At least four fields planted and tended by Goblin Hands with a mixed bag of basic vegetables, mostly roots: potatoes, taro, yams, sweet potatoes, but also a few leafy greens like okra, spinanch, and something the Goblins call "Orc Lettuce" (Pak Choi). The Hobgoblins, though, with a few Goblin carriers- are specifically put in charge of the hunting: they're tall, strong, and obedient. You're already aware of all the various noxious herbs, fungi, n' so forth that flourish in Miasma- your herb garden is testament to that, but you do learn a few things or three. >+Undead Sympathetic Cultivation+: 'While the Dead will never be able to grow food for people, there are a few edible plants that can handle their taint: turnips, pumpkins, and peanuts. Though, Garlic & Tobacco can be grown between rows if you must." There seems to be a personal note left behind by the Gardener, "Garlic Alternatives? You'll never be able to circumvent the massive issues with Undead Farmers, but you won't at least ruin your fields if they're planted right- you may also 'take back' tainted land.Further reading reveals the Gardener has actually left many notes within the text, two in particular stand out to you:>?Jinmenju? :"A method of growing tainted Peach Trees, native and developed in the orient: fed regularly with corpses, will bare fruit that can be eaten and provide nourishment to Undead. *Fruit is delicious and sweet- a rare commodity for someone dead." >?Goth Dryad? Lampad: "There's an extensive chapter here detailing how to grow Dryads in spoiled soil, but it's beyond either you or Chemmy's expertise." With this new knowledge: you set up a few additional fields to see if you can't get them to produce something at the very least. You'll get back to them later you suppose.>>2554146>We should make a few more Scarecrows now that our fields have been expanded>Roll 75/100Though, you remember, you can also make a few Scarecrows to man those fields as well in one way or another- at the very least they'll be "spooky", so the aesthetic around your place will be improved. The Troll is dead for sure and it's good to have another Troll Body (that makes 2), but you'd need some way to unpetrify it if you want some use out of it. The Hobgoblins apologize, you tell them there's nothing to be sorry for- it's happenstance. You then get everyone to pitch in so you can drag this morbid lawn ornament back home- it's fucking heavy. >>2554240Vats room become undead storage and alchemy. The other gets turned into a demonic bath to start upgrading the avarice demon it will probably end up the treasury.
>>2554251>we don't get frostbite. that's the best I could ask for.Come on, I only nearly lost our extremities twice with this research...

>>2554251We just have all our research shit, our spellbook library, our reanimation, and our alchemy in the same room. We're one good fuckup away from it all burning down in one go.Dedicated rooms with firebreaks for each of our various activities would at least prevent that and probably give advantages to each activity just from space and organization purposes.Plus we can get assistants up in there a lot more easily for the various dedicated activities.
>>2554221>You then get everyone to pitch in so you can drag this morbid lawn ornament back home- it's fucking heavy.>not using a copious amount of GHost Hands to carry it back home.
on the next roll actions, I'm gonna roll for researching a means to slow the ageing process for goblins so they age more gracefully, in potion form. at least aesthetically. With out knowledge of rot, the Rot and/or Preserve spell, Chemmy's alchemical genius, a stocked lab and twelve gobby helpers, surly we will produce some results. But before that an orgy is in order so they'll be at max mental capacity.
>>2554226>Ask the Nymph to explain about the elves - what transgressions is she talking about, could she tell you a little history please?>FreebieIn your down time, you ask your Snow Nymph what she meant by the Elves transgressions, you don't.. You've never actually seen an Elf before- you've heard of them sure, so you're curious. She diligently responds, trying to be impartial, "In prehistory the Elves ruined the moon and turned it into the pale land of speckled pools you see at night. Afterward they fled to your world, were evicted three times: once by beasts, once by giants, and once by your people I believe. They now live in isolated habitats orbiting your world. This is as I understand it." >>2554228>You can't sense the Amazons presence anymore. You wish them well and hope they'll pick it up, but wherever they are it's outside of the province.>>2554236>Dig out some more rooms with tubs/vats dug out too.>LUCKY 7Earlier this morning you had commanded the Goblins that if they were done with the fields to get started digging and toiling in the basement to expand it for more Goblin Habitation- more friends, more goblins, get to it, chop chop. They grumble, but they pick up their little tools and get to work- Goblins love to dig, but they'd never admit it. You hear screaming. Shit, you think, "Fuck me if they dug into a Bulette or a Mole or something stupid." Their screams are of excitement: They found a Copper Ore Vein. The Goblins and even the Avarice Demon rant and rave how important this is, but what you get out of it is: Copper can be sold or made into tools, Copper deposits have Silver, Goblins love mining ore. >+New Lair Feature: Copper Mine, "Not really a 'mine', but more of just a small deposit found in the caves below housing a bit of copper and perhaps even silver." >+Lair Update+: THIS Lair can no longer be made larger. It's potential has been reached. You must expand outward now. You're still a little bummed though- you wanted to make vats. You've got that large alchemical glass container sitting and collecting dust and Avarice said he needed to bathe in treasure!Avarice interupts you to clarify, you tell him he said he needed to be bathed. Avarice raises his black claw to stifle a small snort, "Kiddo, I wasn't being literal. I simply need to 'own' treasure to sustain my paranormal abilities and grow stronger. Did you think this whole time I needed to literally bathe and swim in it..?" Your 16 year old self storms off to save face. >>2554271Gonna use this 20, just a moment.

>>2554342I realize excavating all that ground -the hole that leads to bedrock, the two basement levels, the goblin hidey hoe- gave us a lot of material. the usefulness of said material is questionable. Mud, dirt, gravel, stones, clay(?). If we got some spare lumber I'd suggest building a few homes on the hill. Two story apartment things maybe? With what you have available, though, you're able to put together at least something for Chemmy so you can stop bumping shoulders with him and having to share the same work space. A table is gathered, the excess equipment, a little bit of this and that out of what you got back from the Homunculi Commune but don't know how to use yourself. You put it all together under Chemmy's advice and pass the new room off to him so he can work:>+New Lair Feature: Goblin Chem-Lab: "This work space has everything a Goblin needs to produce potions, salves, poultice, and various chemical concoctions: dried herbs hanging, pots of pickled reagents, and a kettle for brewing. It's not magic, but you'd be forgiven for how it walks the line. " >>2554358>Wait, so we literally cannot dig out or build more rooms here because QM fiat?((You can, but it's beginning to get quite cramped. The House ITSELF can't be made larger, but theoretically you can just keep digging forever in however way you wished. There's a number of houses surrounded us- at least several farmsteads close by we could expand our lair towards. It might be better put to say: "If you expand anymore from this the Farm House will stop being a Farm House and will become a cave system sitting underneath a Farm House.))>>2554363>Hang on, I asked Avarice several threads ago if he would get stronger just from getting more treasure and he said no. What gives?((Sorry if I either miswrote or if you misread, but it's basically the difference between 'having' gold and just being in the presence of it. Avarice will never die if he's in contact with riches, but to grow stronger he needs to OWN treasure, to BE himself wealthy. Magic works thematically, it's confusing. )) Alrighty, go ahead guys. What proceeds, is by and large, the most explicit and sexually chaotic act you've ever committed in your young life: no gobby was spared- not even the hobbys, ESPECIALLY the hobbys. When all is said and done you wake up a little mid afternoon in a pile of Goblins: the Hobs having gone out for a smoke break with the avarice Demon to discuss life's great mysteries not that they can think straight. Time is short, though, you grab a sweat-glazed Chemmy and put him immediately to work while he's still in his refractory period. >New Potion: Weak Trolls' Blood: "Mutagenic and highly regenerative Troll's blood: diluted into a serum that can restore health to aging cells and even grow back tissue with time. Take sparingly- can cause 'mistakes'." As lucid as he typically is while spent, Chemmy responds in kind, "There ya go love. I.. I actually got this from the ol' cunt outside, ya know? Drilled a hole in 'em and took a needle to it." >>2554400>Let's expand to a nearby home/farm>Roll 10 half, minimum success. Your work force is a little lazy, but you try and get them up and going to clear out and claim another nearby farmstead so you can expand outward (and then downward and upward. Your farm as it is right now may not be able to expand, but if you can rebuild.. Build up.. Build down- that's a different story.). The little guys are flaccid and uninspired, but the adjust the contents of their insides and shuffle on outside single file, with you following behind as supervisor. >+Basic Lair Expansion requirement met: 1 additional farm house. It's nothing special and you've found nothing of interest, but you've put it back together well enough to function as a second small house adjacent to your own. Something like this helps expand your lair, but you'll need to decide what you 'really' want to do with your lair to turn it into a 'true' dungeon...And the Adventurers that would no doubt come to pilfer it. >>2554411>Let's use seance to check in on the butcher demon.>Roll 5/20. Rolling with advantage, but that's a poor roll. The last thing you take care of for the day is checking up on the Butcher- you haven't heard from her in WEEKS. You.. can barely make her out- maybe the Rotwood is interfering? You can hear her voice faintly, you manage to comprehend the bare minimum: She's at the Goth Tree helping the Gardener with something. Accepting new Actions. Lets go and visit some place, shall we? We've been cooped up at home for DAYS now.
>>2554490Also, gonna take a quick snack break- so I'll be back in a moment. We should, though, think about two things:1. We should go on an adventure!.2. We should come up with a basic Dungeon plan? Goblin Fortress? Necromancer Tower? And take the steps towards such a plan.
Rolled 12 (1d20)>>2554494>>2554490Let's take a cloud and go to Commune #9 and look into hiring engineers and architects. After that maybe we'll head towards Pug or En, it's on the way anyhow.

>>2554504I say we go visit the goth tree as our adventure, we don't really have the power for a trip into the troll cave without a lot more muscle with us and we have both a petrified and a non-petrified troll corpse to work with.Speaking of which, we should probably freeze the non-petrified corpse to preserve it before we leave home.
>>2554494I'm down for adventure. Visit Goth Tree for GF?For the dungeon, necro tower. Let's not make gobs our focus, it'll limit our miasma.
>>2554512>>2554514but I thought the amazons cleared that place out>>2554502I'd be down for En. >>2554550....and click the right post >>2554545
>>2554530>>2554527>>2554526>>2554525>>2554519>>2554514>>2554512So part of the problem we have is that despite living in a hot, humid climate, our ice powers and ice golems require low temperatures, as do useful commercial products we can sell like ice cream, and we need ventilation in order to cycle miasma out of areas so we don't get overwhelmed with out of control undead and we can have living creatures near us without killing all the farm plants that feed them, etc.The easiest way to manage this without constantly wasting spell energy on it is with a wind tower that uses BOTH belowgrownd excavations AND aboveground towers.Pic related is an example. We have a vent intake at ground level or so to get hot outdoor air. This goes down to a tunnel that reaches an underground stream or just a reservior of still water. The channel eventually enters our basement, which is cool, and goes up through a solar updraft tower with exit vents that dump out the air, maintaining a cycle. We should take advantage of this when we build our home, with areas reserved for miasma and dark crystal development attached to the structure in the right locations, but cut off from living areas for goblins and other servants.>>2554525>but I thought the amazons cleared that place outno, they just killed a few of the trolls and riled the rest up, altering the power structure in the society
>>2554567When you build them over a water reservior with ventilation shutters that shut tightly on enough sides to face the prevailing wind, you can store water at near freezing temperatures in the open desert. Pic related is one in the middle east. Shit is cheap and low tech and will keep our ice golems nice and cold.If there's no wind, if you build the towers tall enough, you get a thermal updraft anyway and basically get a free fan.>>2554526>I believe we already cast preserve on the first troll corpse and have buried it for storage until we're able to reanimate themCool, thanks.
>>2554567>>2554582Oddly enough this reminds me of the Stone Tower Temple from Majora's Mask. Also I'm back and will be taking those new actions in just a moment.
>>2554582So we can use these, and even put skylights in them and have them pour light into specific rooms in our basements onto patches of clover. That can draw out the miasma we don't want.Alternatively, we can use them to grow fast-growing plants inside our basements during the day; bamboo from the jungles or kelp in a tank will grow very quickly, putting on so much mass that we'll be able to send in constructs to harvest it every night and add it to a room to turn into miasma.>>2554589Cool.
>>2554594down side from that. plants grown in the basement would have a limited amour of direct sunlight to stimulate growth. cool ideas though/
>>2554594One of the other benefits of this style of construction is that the temperature differentiation and humidity can be used to create a sort of combined water reservior, granary, and year-round natural icehouse. Pic related is a Yakhchal or ice pit, a building that takes advantage of water condensation, cooling airflow, and thicc heavily insulated mid-brick or ceramic or adobe walls to store ice year-round in the middle east. We're trying to support a farm community. Once we get production up, we're gonna need a place to put our goods.Think of this as a natural walk-in refrigerator that works all year. We can have ice golems and snow nymphs hang out in it in total comfort. We can stack corpses and reagents in there if we want and have no risk of them melting. We can have ice cream in there ready for sale by the crate.>>2554603We can just line the walls with a mirrored surface, like metal, or have a single mirror or prism overhead that shines light where we want it, egyptian style. This way if the sun's up the plants get the max amount of light, and at night the undead can freely enter the room and harvest the plants, turning them into miasma.
>>2554620Pic related is what an ice pit looks like on the inside. So if we get a commune engineer and architect on it and we get a kiln up to make bricks and undead labor for the grunt work, we could build not just an environment that requires little magic to keep icy enough for all our minions, but builds miasma in regular cycles. Then we'd need to create a process for that miasma to crystallize. The easiest way to do this is to have multiple dedicated basement rooms where we put in a fragment of dark mana as a seed crystal, a bunch of plant matter (algae is ideal because you can grow a ton of it a day, like from kelp; bamboo is a second-best, then stuff like hemp), and a skeleton mage to cast rot or some undead to process the mana into miasma. If necessary, undead alchemists or just a running alchemical process to turn the miasma into crystals.
>>2554633So then the problem is, once you have a steady source of miasma and a way to turn it into dark mana crystals, you get creeps. We've already seen this demonstrated in our pit. However, this may not be a bad thing - I'm gonna meta a little bit here, but we should probably work on some creep research because we may be able to turn them into a dungeon minion. To quote the post - and this is all QM's discretion, might have changed since it was posted a while ago, etc:>And our first Elementals! Are these Elementals? What even are Creeps?>Creeps are humanoid-shaped creatures composed of magic, shadow and whatever fabric, bit of wood or material they can scavenge into weapons and armor: they are unrelenting and focused entirely on causing either havoc or protecting their dungeon homes. >Creeps are seemingly born from a crystallized form of mana that develop naturally underground or in sufficiently large, dark, ruins latent and saturated with magical energies either natural or artificially introduced- It’s thanks to these magical origins that creeps are technically classified as a kind of “elemental”, being seen as a naturally occurring magical expression of the dark crystal’s mana. Creeps themselves have a curious and unreasonable nature to themselves: not needing to eat, drink, sleep and living only to protect and ensure the survival of their dark crystal parent. Creep psychology is a complete mystery as they possess enough intelligence to brandish weapons, equipment- even picking up rudimentary magics and crafting primitive equipment, trinkets and ornaments if necessary, but despite that individuals seek no further advancement or ambition of their kind than to dutifully patrol the area surrounding their dark crystal. >Creeps will even go a step further and fortify the area they dwell within, make encampments of sorts, assign themselves rudimentary classes and even ally or leave well enough alone the beings and creatures who dwell alongside them within their dungeon homes.>ally or leave well enough alone the beings and creatures who dwell alongside them within their dungeon homes.>Rumors though speak of “King” creeps- rulers among their kind that are reincarnations or avatars of old, fading, dark crystals. >Creeps...literate in ways of magic [occasionally carry] smaller dark crystal pieces. >Creeps as well do not need to eat or drink and as a result possess no culinary culture. Pic related says creeps might be able to function as dungeon minions so long as they can control the crystal and want to build more crystals. They also learn everything they know from copying what they see. We may be able to teach them to guard the crystals for us, and to create more crystals for us somewhat symbiotically because of another property of creeps.
>>2554671Forgot pic.Post is http://spaghettiart.tumblr.com/post/135277754712/and-our-first-elementals-are-these-elementals
>>2554671>>2554679...we accidentally spawned a bunch of creeps and even a King Creep in the pit didn't we?
>>2554679So the thing about elementals is that they all inherently understand murmur, the elemental language. If we learn it, or use seance to talk to the creeps through telepathy, or both, we might be able to turn them into minions. From the post about languages:>Murmur:>Murmur is the language of the soul; all spirits, elementals, demons, angels, gods, & undead can innately speak or understand it. Elementals however occasionally do not wish to understand one another and their varied cultures have developed their own adaptations of the language: Auran, Aquan, Ignan, Terran, Gastric, & Mechanus. >can innately speak or understand itSo creeps might be able to speak or comprehend murmur and we have a spell to stick it directly into their brains.Post is http://spaghettiart.tumblr.com/post/152675671632/this-is-really-mostly-for-my-personal
>>2554567>>2554582>>2554594>>2554620>>2554633>>2554671>>2554679>We can have ice golems and snow nymphs hang out in it in total comfort. We can stack corpses and reagents in there if we want and have no risk of them melting. We can have ice cream in there ready for sale by the crate.Or we could have a cubic building with a whole lot of Wisps in there to keep the place cool. Actually this is a good, but throw in some wisps for additional cooling.btw those are all "cool" ideas.>>2554689dope
>>2554689Pic related is an ice house, a heavily insulated building that's used in the west to store ice and prevent it melting for months. So anyway, say we have a means of farming dark mana crystals. It would probably work slow but steadily over time. I'd say if we had four windcatcher skylight towers for farming, ventilation, and temperature control we could generate enough plant biomass to mix with other organic refuse and generate a steady supply of miasma between that and other sources of trash, then dump it into conversion to crystals that would then spawn its own guards we could maybe teach to cultivate the crystals and produce them in some quantity. If we couldn't use the creeps, they'd make great training material to keep our guards in shape, not to mention fodder and arena playthings for critters like the butcher demon and anyone that wanted to watch. OR bet on them, which would allow us to run a little gambling on the side.Goblins and the avarice demon should like gambling.>>2554686It was just the one, I think.>>2554697Wisps are important and probably useful in different sections of it, but there are potential problems maintaining them or if they encounter a dispel. I think we should use both, including wisps for lighting in the miasma crystallization rooms - those can't have any natural light in them.
>>2554715that reminds me, we need to find a supply of lanterns so we can make more Wisp Lanterns
You pack your things, you summon a cloud, you let Avarice know he's the man of the house while you're away.. Followed by Chemmy and then the Hobgoblins. The two girls appreciate your trust. With that.. Adventure awaits! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfQ4DiRzd14>>2554512>Monk!>13 Fortuitous Results.Your first stop is the cave system underneath the Termite Mound where The Pit resides and your friend The Monk. They're there like they've always been, but they seem.. Stronger than before: The Monk shuffles over excited to see you in person. They meekly greet you, "O-oh, what a pleasant surprise!" Their thing arms stretch out and they hold onto you loosely- you have to carry them just to sustain the embrace. You feed and update them on everything that's been going on. "You..dug a pit?" They have to think about what they're going to say carefully, "I.. I could help with that.. I think.." They seem interested, but if you wanted to House them you'd have to make the full commitment- for now you can't divert your attention though. You tell the Monk you'll be back for them, "I'll be waiting..!" While you feel a little bad, they seem less thin than you remember them being- their hair a little fuller, something about them is different.>>2554502>Commune!>Roll 18 High end, near perfect results. Rolling at advantage. Heading out and over to the Commune you're granted access without a hitch, but the Homunculi there can't stop staring at you- you're turning heads left and right, some of the Homunculi can't help but follow a little behind you. It isn't until you visit #76 are your questions finally answered. She impulsively yanks you into her stall, there's a disheveled nature about her as she tries to compose herself in a respectable manner, "Your eyes, your eyes child, w-what happened to your eyes?" You give her a confused look, they're just blue, a harmless mutation, right? "You have the eyes of a Master, sweet child." You ask her if that's bad. "No. Far from it." She eventually calms down enough to tell you your mutation is a direct byproduct of becoming 'personified' by the magic one uses: one of the marks of a 'truly' powerful caster and one of the qualities they specifically manufacture into their architects, so confusion and excitement is naturally to be expected. Indeed, you are currently first hand seeing this coming out of #76 who has trouble calming herself. She bites her lip, cooing, "God, you're even the right height." You tell #76 to focus, asking if she can rely on the Homunculi communities help, you want to start building a tower. "Oh, uh, We'd be more than happy to. The Architect is, well, he's a genius and an actual Architect, but.. With Catherine the way she is.." She hands you papers asking for your arrest. "It's all we can do to hide your presence. I'm afraid helping you build a massive phallic middle finger to her Majesty would be unwise. I'm sorry, honey."
>>2554715You mad man. All these ideas...What if we just build a four floor deep dungeon and put the giant volley ball sized shard somewhere? dark shards should be spawning like crazy from all the floors.AND! If we disguised it as a dungeon, then maybe some adventures or trespassers will wander in to kill or be killed by the creepers. in either case we get loot and shards.
>>2554715One other thing, since we're trying to maybe revitalize the community here and bring people into the houses (I think) to help the changelings survive long-term.This whole system will probably need an underground water source though, so we should get some help locating one or drive down a well-shaft with undead labor.Pic related is a quanat, an underground aqueduct tunnel running from a stream higher up in the water table to a system of wells for irrigation and water supply. We can use it for drinking water and irrigation water distribution, temperature control because ain't nobody got time for AC, and to help manage flushing out waste into a cess pit that we might use to create fertilizers and more miasma. We'll probably want to make golems and undead to process the wastewater though. It gross.>>2554718Why don't we just make them? Undead labor should be sufficient to pulp reeds into paper and cut bamboo and assemble something like rice-paper lanterns.
>>2554730>Crystal Chronicles musicI'm getting major nostalgia Spaghets, approval
>>2554744More quanat pix.>>2554734In order to steadily harvest the crystal, we'd need to be able to both1) provide living material that was processed by contact with undead to create miasma, and2) safely harvest the crystals given the likelihood of creep formationWhat you describe is like an incubator for megacreeps that would require a lot more material to be fed into it to work regularly.Much better to have multiple generators that create harvestable miasma on a staggered timetable so we could harvest one while the others were forming crystals, allowing us to keep the creep population under control if they weren't useful.

>>2554730If Catherine is placated or eliminated, though, you gather the Homunculi Community would be more than happy to aid you. "Funny enough," #76 mentions "Our Architect's, Architect was said to have designed and built a gigantic tower for a Necromancer hundreds of years ago, so maybe it's fate he, himself, do so once again. With that you.. You politely shove and push past your way out of the Commune, hope back onto your grumpy little cloud and make your way to the Rotwood: it's time to visit The Goth Tree! You can see the tree well beyond the forest line- the top of it sways well over the rest of the Rotwood casting a dark shadow over it with it's own autumn leaves gently falling down. The Tree is so utterly unnaturally massive that it even begins to pierce into the heavens and obscure into the cloud line and indeed- a little rain is constant, obscuring the top most portions of this massive, supressive, tree. It's not too difficult to get to.. You just fly over the Rotwood: you hear a thousand constant moans below, some dull screaming, a petulent crow or raven(?) pop it's head out to join you where it's safe. I'm glad they're down there and I'm up here, you say to yourself aloud- A Raven perching on your cloud agreeing in a deep conic voice, "I'll say, it's a mess down there." Y-you ask the Raven if he knows how to get to the Goth Tree, may as well, "Easy enough, Boss- just follow the trunk and dip straight down. You'll see an entrance, just head aside to it and to a quaint little country manor- home of the Gardener y'see, he's a good boy. Ghouls n' Ghosts don't bother anyone there none." You then ask if he can talk or if this is just magic. He tilts his head, confused, "Don't know watcha' mean by that boss, anybody can gap if'n they got a mouth, but I best be on my way. You stay outta trouble- CAW, CAW." That was weird. But the Raven is right. The Rotwood: The Goth Tree You arrive without incident below the canopy of the Rotwood- a perpetual darkness comes over you, the only thing breaking in is the patter of rain on leaves. It's quiet here. You can see the large cabin the bird spoke of: it's chimney is puffing, there's lights on, and a fence of silvered metal with pumpkins lining the property. The Butcher Demon is out on the porch, sharpening her blade; she seems to be having a conversation with that Gardener you met back at the Cheval's Estate. You recognize his distinct goth-lolita crossdressing fashion sense.Butcher lifts her head, and says something to the Gardener; he in turn picks up his frilly parasol and the metal gate swings open. Butcher shouts, "Get in. Gate keeps out weirdos. Come." Accepting new Actions. Goth Tree Adventure!
>>2554775So yeah, with water we can irrigate farmland, with construct labor we can harvest and process crops, with undead or constructs we can probably care for livestock, and with the food we grow and sell we can employ alchemists and specialists to keep our miasma system running, druids to grow our herbs, and other stuff we need to do.>>2554778Every area has some kind of water table or aquifer, and using an archimedes screw setup to raise the water which is in turn powered by a water wheel works. Plus we could just dig a canal from the river if we had to, then cover it and run the tunnel underground. All these cave systems should have underground streams, though. It would be very odd if they didn't.

It grows super fast and curing it with preserve/rot should work, if not some of those rot spells the demon we sent to Pug is gonna teach us (ew).>What if we left mushroom and algae farms underground to grow wildly?I don't really want unchecked growth of anything that might attract undead or termites, do you? We already got an avarice demon just by having a treasure pile. Also if it creates uncontrolled miasma, we get creeps where we don't want them and in numbers that might threaten agricultural workers trying to harvest the plants/manage the creep population. Finally, to turn something into miasma most efficiently, you want to convert most of its biomass, which works best with microscopic life like bacteria or algae. Kelp is all algae, but grows faster than mile-a-minute weed. In water with decent mineral content like you'd get from a river or an underground stream, kelp would grow like a motherfucker AND clean the water flowing through it. Then we have a scarecrow golem harvest it, deliver it for miasma conversion, and we get a nice steady controlled process with no surprises and no wasted mushrooms or fungus.>>2554810Walking in these woods is pretty dangerous.

>>2554824That's why its the perfect romantic walk for a bloodthirsty Butcher Demon and a necromancer anon.
>>2554831So with extended systems to manage food and ice storage, temperature control, ventilation, and dark crystal generation, we should justify things like dedicated alchemy labs, magic research labs, a scriptorium and library, and a reanimation/summoning room in separate areas with firebreaks and reinforcement. Also an arena, rooms for growing and processing food, different kinds of quarters for creatures that like different temperatures, and a treasury. We'll also need a pit for the monk, any shrines to gods we regularly propitiate, an office to meet with mundane humans, and our personal quarters.Add in security systems like a moat filled with slime, walls, guard towers (we could add these to the windcatcher towers by adding battlements), and maybe a stable and a roof deck for cloud flight takeoff and landing and we're getting there. So yeah, we kinda need a bit of help and probably some logging and a kiln to make the bricks and masonry to build this whole complex. We could animate the troll corpse and make it our construction crane.>>2554839And then we died in the forest.

What if we put the shard in an ice golem? we command the golem and ergo the Creep? The crystal shards form out of miasma over time and the creeps emerge from the shards. The Gardener curtsies, "So good to see you again, sir Necrolyte. My goodness, especially those EYES of yours.." he raises his hand to his mouth in mock shock, "So.. enticing, so powerful, how positively paranormal~" With all due respect, you politely ask The Gardener who's side he's on."Hmmn.. Am I forced to work? Maybe in the estate. I obviously have to keep up appearances there. But you're in my domain now and I'm just a little too valuable to be enslaved I'll be happy to note~" You ask about the other Vampires, about The Demons, "Ohh, it's dreadful really, Catherine has the whole works down the toilet if you'll excuse my.. 'french' " He motions to Butcher who laughs- that Reference is a little outside of your cosmological awareness. "Ahem, as I was saying: those poor Demons banished, blood and meat prices skyrocketing, the parties getting worse and worse, and all those less fortunate Vampires working such miserable positions- it's all just so unbearable." >Or if he even knows that Catherine is a fraudHe gives his parasol a thoughtful little spin, "Hmmn.. So I've been told, Necrolyte. Would that be true.. It would be quite 'inconvenient' wouldn't it~? Rabble roused, riot in the streets, outrage... Hmhmn- very inconvenient." Embarrassed by the lack of food: The Gardener and Butcher Demon accompany you on a quick outting while telling you about the Goth Tree. They tell you the Goth Tree is one of several 'king' offshoots of all the various trees you see in the Rotwood- normally they'd, well, rot, but they've adapted somehow and have been growing ever since the fall of this land 750 years ago. The Gardener was put in charge of studying this massive tree, but, well, "The inside is filled with hollowed out, twisting, caverns and they themselves are filled with bugs, grubs, monsters- " The Butcher chimes in, "Flower Demons", "Ah, yes, those too- they're still in there." The area surrounding the manner is dark, dark as night- various creatures, ghosts, wisps, and other things creep beyond and looking over in the darkness you can all see their twisting hideous forms clearly. The only small comfort: The Gardener picks a few vegetables, some mint, some herbs, and the Butcher catches a small black and white deer, "Food for the boy." They prep and cook you a fine little feast of roasted venison, vegetables, and a warm, lovely, cup of mint & tea- these Woods are quite chilly after all. Seems in simple terms The Goth Tree is just a big dungeon. The BIGGEST Dungeon. Either way, accepting action rolls now.

The Butcher Demon heads inside to take a nap, but the Gardener seems a little.. Hesitant."I feel compelled to warn you, from on mancer to another: I've tried to speak to the Goth Tree on many occasions and have gotten very little of use out of it beyond bad memories... Especially now, it seems to have some new obsession." Still, you've got to try. You light some candles- bless the bee women, you've never had a want for candles- sit square down, quiet yourself, and let the tree speak to you. For a haunted wood it's pleasant, cool, quiet n' peaceful even. You.. You don't remember, but you end up falling asleep.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2YEu-Q6SIIEverything is black, you feel yourself being pulled though, through the darkness, but everything is so obscured you can only feel the flow of movement from your body being carried and the two arms carrying you onward. Eventually, the darkness subsides and you find you're being lifted by two people: one in green, one in white, and the darkness before had been a mass of crows with them carrying you towards a white tree before a field of green. A figure steps out of the shadow of crows: long, thin, tanned hide strung out like meat- it has a crow for a head that's lined with eyes. The creature shrieks and your two friends begin to run with you- faster, faster, as the thing behind them extends it's arms to grasp them. The person in green throws you into the arms of the one in white and stops running. They get caught and the two of you manage to escape. Reaching the white tree, you finally get a look at the persons face. It's the Monk. "What are you doing here? It's not safe." You wake up. The Gardener has his parasol out and is holding it over you to block the falling leaves and is quite concerned. "Are you okay? You were out cold for a bit there. I was worried." You neglect to mention -certain- parts of your vision, but you do tell him there was a crow involved. "Ah, yes, that would be the Shrike. Even Catherine is afraid of it."

>>2554952>>2554957>Get some History into us. >Freebie. "Come, it's cold outside." The Gardener takes your hand and guides you back inside to contemplate your vision. You're sat down on the couch before the fireplace, you snuggle beside Butcher who's snoozing, but instinctively wraps her arm around you to pull your small body against her abs. The Gardener clicks the radio on and the evening would have been spent quietly, but inquiring minds just got to know. You pop the question: "What happened to all the Human kingdom of Cockaigne?" The Gardener slips into something a little more casual while the put away their parasol and gets their story straight. "Well.. as far as I know it went like this: Humans used to be quite numerous, they built a great many cities and their civilizations dominated the north- they fought the Orcs, even brought the Elves under their thumb, but they always wanted MORE. I think they had a saying.. Burn Alone? It was meant to iconify and unite the races of men or some such thing. " The Gardener comes out in their night gown and garters, sitting over in their chair. "Hmn, though if there was one thing Humans were fond of besides xenophobia and empire building: it was Darkness. Other races can see in the Darkness, but Humans can't- they're blinded by it of course, but being blinded by it gave them a supernal sense and affinity for it, an almost supernatural obsession with the 'absense' of something and that in turn awakened a need for.. All this I suppose." He makes a motion to..everything: outside, you, himself. "I dunno what happened specifically: some people say they all got sick and turned into Zombies, others say they all become Vampires or died trying to become immortal and these are all the mistakes left behind.. Some even think this is all just a cruel punishment- Nature being offended and recycling all the bodies they've walked over to kill them. I like that one the best." Spooky. "Indeed, it is. The only thing that's true though: Most Undead are Human, despite most people not being Humans, so there's something to it." >>2554929>>2554956>roll 70/100>Make Ice Cream~!The last thing you do for the night is shuffle on over to the fridge and using all the latest technology available and your own magic: you make some Ice Cream, some REAL Ice Cream this time. "I know, I know, that sounds weird- it's good though. It's really rich. It's got a very high butter-fat-content. I swear to god that isn't an innuendo."Well, whatever, you're making it for them. >The Ice Cream is Delicious, everyone is unanimous. Accepting new Actions. You actually spend the night there. It's.. Wow, it's crazy. You have no idea how any of these people sleep here, but it's oddly cozy how disturbing and frightening it is: the gate is tremendously sturdy, it isn't even over 5ft tall, but it's the barrier it creates that blocks any intrusion by anything supernatural. You get up to go to the bathroom during the night and you get to see a wall to wall line of Zombies, Skeletons, Ghouls, and something known as a 'Mound Maker' standing outside the barrier like fish in a glass tank. Creepy. >>2555085>Ask the gardener how animating dead plant matter would work and ways to safely combine plants with necromancy.>roll 10/20The next morning you wake up to bacon, eggs, sausages, and some sort of breakfast.. Soup? It's fermented at least. Butcher likes it. The Gardener makes you some cornbread. You get a little emotional- you haven't had Cornbread since you left home. "It's good, isn't it? Hmn? Nice to know somebody from the River Lands, eh~?" You've got business though. You ask him about animating dead plant matter and how his Necromancy works with plants. "After Breakfast, I'll show you in the Greenhouse." You're directed to the greenhouse: it's built in the space between the Goth Tree and the Cabin: It's staffed entirely by Golems made out of Mud. "These are.. My Muddies~!" He waves at them with his Parasol, they stand at attention. The.. The Mud Men seem to be made out of compost, plant matter, layered on with mud. "They're basically a compost Golem. Normally plants make DREADFUL mediums, but the miasma they naturally create keeps them going and I've got a sort of Pestilence spell running on them so they just roll in some leaves and they're all set!" The round muddy boys go back to their jobs. You ask if him if that's kind of the trick- is it Rot?"Well, there's three Domains to Necromancy, remember? Rot, Ice, and I guess Spirit: We share the aspect of Rot with my domain (Botanomancy), so there's bound to be potential for spill over." >Ask who or what Shrike is.Before you set off for a little field trip, you ask about the Shrike. "Hmmn.. I'm.. Not quite sure myself. He could be a Fey, he could be a particularly demented Demon or even an Undead to spooky for even these woods to handle. But! One thing I do know is: his eyes and ears are all the crows & ravens that live in here and he doesn't like Catherine." The Vampire Gardener continues his sentence, hesitantly, "Ah, he also doesn't like Undead either. Heh." Full of LORE and INFORMATION you figure you're ready to go hunt down some reagents yourself. "I can't leave my study, I'm afraid. But you can take this.. wretched Demonic delinquent with you." The Gardener winks at Butcher and wishes the two of you luck on your hunt in the Rotwood. >>2555149Makes you wonder why he tried to attack us earlier.
>>2555153Maybe it just wanted to invite us to tea and the Monk and the other unidentified individual simply assumed the worst and panicked?
>>2555149Look at this way who would rather deal with a horde of mindless undead or a horde whose controlled by a necromancer? Seeing as how it was willing to talk with us then it's clear it would prefer diplomacy. Meaning we are far superior to deal with seeing as we aren't mindless and can actually converse.
>>2555133we should ask him how to make Mud Men sometime. They sound very useful
>>2555171Basically what I'm trying to get at is the Shrike wants to talk and even though it hates undead. It guiding us to the Rotwood which its connected to is a sign. Its sick and tired of dealing with undead. It wants to deal with someone alive who can control the undead. Someone who it can actually reason with.
>>2555175We should talk to our Monk friend before we try again. Next time it might not be so nice.Did it attack us because we are a necromancer?
The Woods are dark, the woods are cold, the dead are constantly about and every time you alert your supernatural senses you see the forest set ablaze by a blinding sea of lights all burning into your eyes. You and the Butcher Demon keep quiet, keep close to one another, and manage to find a few things. >>2555135>Big money?>Roll 80/100The Rotwood is THE epicenter of Undead activity and the Goth Tree nurtures a whole host of unique, versatile, and indispensable herbs and other botanical reagents that threaten to revolutionize both your alchemical and necromancer work- some of these plants you thought were merely folklore.>New Quest Item: +Rot Wood Herbs+: "Once you get back home, these herbs can be planted and added to your garden to expand and upgrade it into a 'true' Necromancers garden. The noxious herbs are tough and bitter, made vile and persistent by their sullied and inhospitable environment." >>2555136>Rolled 10 (1d100)You trip on a tree root, your purse falls out of your robes and some change spills out which in turn is stolen by a magpie. You hastily collect and shovel it back into your magical Demon purse, but that Magpie got away with a few pennies- at least enough to buy a loaf of bread, rude ass bird. >>2555137>Rolled 100 (1d100)>Bug munyThe most important thing you find, though, is also the most seemingly mundane and innocuous. You and the Butcher Demon find yourself in a clearing, a safe spot within the Rotwood where the line can shine down and the healing rains from the clouds storming above can nurture the land below. Green grass, clover, dandelions, even a few toadstools set the picturesque scene of rebirth and renewal. The area, though, is host to a conspiracy of Ravens: huddled together, they peck and nab at the black acorns that have fallen from the Goth Tree in a mad dash to deny any other creature. One of the Ravens hops on over to you: hop, hop, hop, as Ravens do. The Butcher shields you, but you assure her it's literally just a Bird. You give a little wave to the Raven, greeting him kindly. "Well that's more like it, a fine young gentlemen. I say, I say, a good boy indeed." You kneel down and he hops over, allowing himself to be pet before he drops a small black acorn into your hand. "There's a treat for ya, son. Don't spend it all in one place- CAW, CAW, CAW." The Raven flies off with the others. You look to the Butcher and ask her if she caught any of that. "No. Birds do not talk." She heard nothing. >Quest Item: Dark Acorn, "This seemingly innocent pitch black nuts fits into the palm of your hand, but carries a weight that's nearly as overwhelming as the ominous paranormal aura that emanates from it." >>couldn't find a decent anime picture edition.
>>2555179Remember we are leaking enough miasma to be identified as a necro now? The Crow/Shrike knew but still guided us anyway. Basically, it gave us a gesture of goodwill and we found other signs. For whatever reason, the Shrike wants to talk to us and isn't hostile. So I think we should find a Crow.
>>2555203I don't think it being friendly is the case. But just to be on the side of caution. I think we should talk to a crow like you suggested, then the Monk. No more seances with the tree until then.
>>2555203Let's not rush things too much. I would like to open a dialog but maybe get some input from the Monk first and get a feel why they think Shrike is bad news. But that will likely have to wait till tomorrow.

Last Post Here: >>2555201Our previous adventure had us building and upgrading our lair even further: filling it with gobbos, hobbos, expanding the fields to feed all of our minions (friends), even digging out a little copper mine, and throwing together a lab just for our squishiest and smartest Goblin- Chemmy. We also had a little accident and now possess a very mild mutation- just some glowing eyes, we can see in the dark, it's fine, really. But, adventure called! And after a few errands we ventured back into the Rotwood where mystery, magic, and a gallery of ghouls n' ghosts await to be busted and aggrieved of our Ghost Fists! We met up with our meaty friend the Butcher and our mutual associate: the fashionable Gardener, at their home by the Goth Tree.Since then we've been, you know; doing a little wandering close by, collecting some herbs, talking to some birds, having visions, and receiving potentially extremely plot-important nuts. She nods, "Yes. I can do that. Some of them work for the Gardener." You don't have to wait long, though: when you arrive just a little short of the fence, Butcher points out several bedazzled figures she tells you are Flower Demons. "Gardener calls them Maenads. Dumb name." There's three of them, innocently carrying off a few things from the manner, it's made clear why they're called 'Flower' Demons: their hair is this absolutely stunning iridescent mane of dazzling colours with an almost equally crystalline and skintaling look to their eyes, with thick delicate eyelashes like stamens. Their skin coming in a mixed chromatic tone of yellow, teal, greens, and pinks. They're naked for the most part, save for one seemingly in 'charge' wearing a poncho of wild flowers and a small floral wreath of spring branches and herbs, "Oh, brother." He waves at the Butcher, "Who's your friend? He's cute. " You introduce yourself, they seem rather curious about you. "I don't know what a Human is supposed to be, but you are easily the most massive Gnome I have ever seen in my life." They tell you they'd be more than happy to have you in the Goth Tree sometime when you aren't busy. Butcher.. Butcher motions that might be a bad idea. "Next time", you say, you've got some errands to take care of.>>2557014>Lets collect a few undead corpses to study. I'm curious about what sets apart a ghoul from a zombie>Roll 1- Complete and Total Failure. The surrounding area provides a unique opportunity to study 'naturally' occurring complex Undead. Typically, you only ever see Ghosts or Wisps in the wild, but this place provides a plethora of horrors and one in particular you'd like to learn about: The Ghoul. You're not 100% sure what happened, but you vaguely remember patrolling the parameter of the cabin's silvered fence so you could study the Undead that took offense to it- you, though, saw a particularly LARGE pile of corpses stacked against the fence and went to investigate. A special zombie: A Mound Maker, as the Gardener called it: hit you on the head with a bone, and tried to pull you out of the fence."You're lucky you weren't dragged off." You find yourself laying in the Manner- The Gardener seeing to your bumped head. "Mound Maker's love to drag off any living person they can find, burry them in a pile of corpses, and turn them into more Mound Makers."
>>2556974>Ask the Gardener about the dark acorn.>roll 14- High End Roll. While you recuperate a little from your small misadventure you fish up that Black Acorn from your pocket and show it to the Gardener, asking him what he thinks of that. "Oh, oh my word." His eyes thin and sharpen like a wild animal "W-where did you find this? Did the crows give this to you? How did you get one of these? Where?" He gets progressively less tender, his black-clawed hand gripping your wrist before he composes himself. "I'm sorry, that was rude of me." The Gardener clears his throat. "simply put: that's an Acorn produced by the Goth Tree. Such an item would be extremely useful to my work as I've been unable to allocate one myself... Because of the crows. " His normally calm demeanor fades when he mentions this and his next few words come out rather pained. "Ah, but.. Y-you're welcome to keep it if you so desire. I'm sure those vile birds have their reasons: they gave it to you after all and not me." You vaguely remember the Homunculi Commune having a magical tree as well. Accepting new Actions.

Don't want to give the Gardener your Dark Nut. Maybe YOUR nut one day, but not your magical evil acorn. The Gardener is upset, but he seems sympathetic, "I wouldn't give it to anyone if I could get my hands on one either, so I don't blame you." You think it'd be rude to.. Well, ask for more than you've already taken, but you try to snooker in some advice from the Gardener while you're here- why is it to important, what it can do, you want to help, but you kinda want to do it on your own terms. "I have two theories" the Gardener sighs, "the nut is either a sullied Mana Seed- in which case it could be cleaned and used to grow a White Mana Tree or the Goth Tree is in fact causing the miasma in question and this is just it trying to spread the Rotwood." Hmn. >>2557204>Ask the Gardeners to feed the crows with you.>Roll 10- Middle Results. We should feed the crows. "Excuse me?" You tell the gardener if you fed the crows and the ravines maybe they would like him more and be his friend and talk to you. "The.. They've been talking to you?" You don't follow up with that, instead rising to your feet and asking if the Butcher wants to feed the crows with you. "No. Don't like birds." You just drag the Gardener with you then a long with some little bits of dried meat and some stale honey biscuits sitting in your bag. Stepping outside, but not beyond the fence. You take the Gardener's hand and under his little lolita parasol you instruct the Gardener on proper bird feeding procedures: crumbs are strewn and the Crows and Ravens follow shortly- completely undeterred by the fence. You ask the Gardener why he dislikes crows, "The filthy birds interfere with my work, they'll EAT Undead if you let them, and I'm also just not fond of the noise they make." You think birds are neat. You encourage the Gardener to stay outside, but you step over: calmly, gently, to say hi to one of them; tossing a few bits n' bites. A Crow hops on over, pecking at a fleck of dried meat. "Hmn, dee-licious, mighty mighty pleasin'." You ask the crow if him and his friends would consider being friends with the Gardener. "You're a good boy, so I'll be straight with ya': that boy 'aint right. He's got." The Crow ruffles his feathers. "He's got issues, I tell ya wot- CAW, CAW. But maybe he sort himself out and he could be good. Maybe- CAW, CAW. " The Crow goes back to a peckin' and a struttin'. You think you should have a word with the Shrike.

Clearing out some space, getting out your ritual mat, and lightning some candles, you calm your mind and think some psychic thoughts, do a few internal 'caws' to try and tune into The Shrike's frequency. You have a dream. You're out in the open: grassy fields, blue skies, the Monk is there in white and you are safe and things are peaceful. This isn't where you want to be- You get up, but the Monk tries to pull you back down, "If you leave, I can't protect you." You give them a kiss on the forehead and they disappear. Taking the greenery and light with them and in their absence all that remains is darkness: perpetual, writhing, shifting dark. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPHqANTdXJwA figure: dried, skinny, he has to bend his knees and squat he's so tall and misshapen that if he didn't he'd hit his head on the sky. So you head outside and contemplate your vision while feeding some of the Crows. No strangers to bread crumbs, they're quick to return to partake in the feast. A raven out of the crowd comes over to you, you extend your arm for it to take perch and it greets you like the others have before it, "The Big Man's mighty pleased with ya and that's hard to do, maybe he sees an opportunity in you- no offense. We'll keep ya posted, boy, Bird Bless." >>2557657>>2557652>>2557621>Seance for closure on the two. >Roll 17, 11, 14- Decent rolls all around. Rolling at a huge advantage. It isn't long before you calm down, gain your strength, do you practically have to cast Seance again- you can feel several voices in the back of your head calling out to you, cheering at you, pulling you over and urging you. You're not even sure you're casting at this point, but once you 'chime' in it almost feels as though you're being pulled forward and back into their tender, grateful, embrace. "Thank you" the both speak to you in tandem, "Thank you, you can't begin to understand how much this means to us. We were the only ones to make it out of the Rotwood alive and when we fled- The Crow called us cowards. Called us traitors, said we were weak." You know who the Monk is, but who's the green person? Before the Seance ends, they both respond, "Come find me at the Troll Tree when you're ready. Bring the Nut if you can." With that it feels like it's as good a time as any to hit the ol' dusty trail and head back home. Accepting new Action rolls. You've been gone for a while: roll me some d100 to see how exciting things have been without you back at the lair- you're a wanted man with a lair after all.
Rolled 67 (1d100)>>2557760Lair roll
Rolled 90 (1d100)>>2557760Oh boy... I hope our frienions are ok.
Rolled 11 (1d100)>>2557760Lair roll. What shenanigans have you guys been up to since I left?
>>2557775>>2557786>>2557808>Roll 67, 90, 11. >Above average, Amazing, one bad weird thing. You say goodbye to the Gardener, "Take care of that Nut, now- if I'm not allowed to have it I want you to put it to good use." and the Butcher lets you know she'll be there if you need here, you then whip up a quick Dark Cumulus and ride out of there in puffy, cloudy, style. It doesn't take long, maybe an hour and a half for you to zip back home and to your lair: The fields and everything seem intact and once he sense you coming closer the Avarice Demon steps outside to greet you along with Chemmy and a couple of the other Gobbies n' Hobbies. "Boss is back, kids. Look sharp." Putzing back down, they tell you only three things of interest happened:>The Copper mine was surprisingly productive, though- your Gobbies have been more than happy to work with. The Avarice Demon says you've amassed a small respectable fortune, "Though, had we just a few more coins we might truly be wealthy." He stares knives at you. Seems he knows about that Magpie.>It started happening maybe yesterday or so, but everything seems a little.. Healthier? The grass greener, the flowers bloomier, the Bee Women happier, the whole land has been springing and sprunging- Even the Rain seems to fall just a little less muggier in some way or another. All of our crops, herbs, and carnivorous plants have been in top form.>Speaking of, Chemmy mentions, "A Burgler's face got ate up by the garden!" You.. You ask Avarice Demon to clarify that statement. "Oh, uh, A Changeling Thief came to steal from us- one of the plants ate his face. Chemmy knows about it more than me." >Sure enough: there is a lifeless Changeling Thief with his half digested head stuck in the mouth of one of your Carnivorous Plants. "I think he was scouting out the place, came in through the garden, and got caught by one of the plants." The melted head slogs off by the neck and the body falls. It's nobody you know, but it's still gross. The Changelings body is completely limp and squishy in death as their kind has few bones. Accepting new actions.
Rolled 11 (1d20)>>2557864Check in on Bee Mom.
Rolled 9 (1d20)>>2557864Go find out why those changlings are sending people to rob you, maybe show off our acorn

Strip the body and give the plants something to eat.>Seems he knows about that Magpie.Fucking magpiesWe're here for a quick stop. Not sure if any town besides the Commune will let me sell things to them. Anyone wants me to sneak stuff if I can while I'm out?Let's get to finding the Troll Tree.

Rolled 13 (1d20)>>2557864I think we should go visit Pug. Meet with the filth demon, get some spells, do some market browsing>>2557899>Troll Tree was destroyed five centuries ago
>>2557923with a 13 I hope they give us some good magics that don't rely too heavily on scat-based spells
>>2557930Time to fulfill my skat fetish. Hot carles here I cum!On all seriousness. I'm still felling apprehensive about visiting the shit demon, free spells or otherwise.
>>2557877I doubt the sleepy little changling village as a whole was in on a robbery plot. Probably just a scummy drifter that heard about us seemingly living alone (because no one in En would know about our housemates yet) in the middle of nowhere and thought we'd be an easy target.
>>2557953Mostly it's an excuse to get back to Pug and search the market since last time we went I rolled a nat 20 for the Market place but we had already spent all our dosh on the Homunculus slaves so I'm eager to check it out. Sounds like a good place to stock our lairOh fuck but what if Catherine put up the bounty posters in Pug too. The Orcs won't hesitate to capture us for the reward
Rolled 15 (1d20)>>2557899I vote we return the body to En, it has few bones and the gesture would be respectful
>>2557988Think there would be questions as to why it's missing a head? Whatever, probably some poor desperate changeling. Maybe we should get those farmsteads fixed up for them.
>>2558014I mean we could just answer honestly, they blundered into a security system. We are sort of living at the edge of the spooky forest so having so defenses would surely be understandable.
>>2557899>You poor poor changeling idiot....welp. Onto business. Strip the body and give the plants something to eat.>roll 1/20You neglect to strip the body of it's clothes or loot before you chuck it into the killing range of your plants. Avarice Demon tries to warn you, "Wait, Boss, he probably has money on.. him.. oh, okay." You ghost hand the fucker into there. The Plants are slow to respond, but once they get a few good bites in they begin chomping away. Whatever the changeling had: you'll have to fish it up once they're done digesting.. If anything remains.>>2557877>maybe show off our acorn>roll 9/20 Low That.. Was unfortunate! You try to make it up to your minions by showing them the fancy Dark Acorn you got from the woods. Chemmy plucks it out of your hand and gives it the ol sniff n' lick. He dry heaves something awful, "HEEUUUGH, BLEUCH, GOD, BLIMEY, T-that's fuckin' awful, love. " Avarice slaps Chemmy and takes the nut, rubbing it dry on his waist skirt before inspecting it. "This could be some sort of Elemental Stone, there's powerful magic inside that I can feel all pent up. It's heavy though, negative magic is always heavy." He tosses it back to you. "Could be worth a lot to the right person though." >>2557875>Check in on Bee Mom.>Roll 11- Weird, but good. While you're in the area, though, you decide to check on Bee Mom, and boy is she not having any of it. The whole of Honey Hill is on high alert: guards are out, arms at the ready, bee girls a buzzin', you try to make heads or tails of the commotion. Seems Mom is laying all those eggs she was plump and swollen filled with. Gross. Gross, but that's nature. Daughters are either gaurding her, watering her, moving the eggs-it's an entire fiasco. You're 16 and don't want to uh.. You don't want to interrupt. There's screaming. Child birth is frightening and Bee Mom has to do it over a dozen times today. Accepting new Actions. Gonna step out for just a moment to have a snack. In the mean time you should figure if you want to visit Pug (lots to buy, people to meet) or maybe do a Dungeon Crawl in the Troll tree, or whatever your next plan of action is.
>>2558031I vote Pug to stock up before heading to Troll Tree.
>>2558031Pug, we need gear for our minions and spells to learn.
Rolled 18 (1d20)>>2558047>>2558064Before we go to Pug, what if we dress up a pair of Gnolls (armed with the rifle and short sword( in heavy cloth and take them with us?>>2558031Maybe if we wrap them with enough thick cloth it could help them from falling inert?
>>2558047>>2558064Actually wouldn't the Commune have some gear we could buy? They might even give us a fairer price. If we go anywhere it might be a good idea to take some of the copper to sell.
Rolled 20 (1d20)>>2558031Buy gear at the commune and En to arm the gnolls with. Post the hobs as guards and march to Pug with the gnolls as guards. We'll be defended if they have a price on our head. And we'll be able to call in the butcher demon.
>>2558127If they want to that is. I wouldn't want to be much of an inconvenience to her. She's gotta good gig going.Fights in PugGets to constantly kill for fun

>>2558299>>2558305I did, I am. You don't even understand- Chemmy was going to fucking die. Chemmy was dead. Terribly so. oh my god. Rotwood Herbs are crazy poisonous, christ.
>>2558311WHAT?! I would have fucking found you irl and made you bring Chemmy back!
>>2558031>figure put what to doOh yeah I wasn't very specific in my vote was I? Regardless of where we go, we should get a few small one handed weapons for the gobby in case someone tries to mug them. For the Hobgoblins? It depends if they came with any gear. If They didn't then some a weapon to each, a buckler, maybe armor if they don't have any.For our undead we just get weapons. If They get destroyed then we can always just sow them back up again. That's the beauty of being a necromancer. You can almost always bring back you Cannon fodder depending on the severity of the damage.
>>2558311Bow before me and be thankful, I have saved best goblin from death
>>2558311>kill ChemmyN-no. Plz. Chem a good gobby. He dindu nuffin wrong. He a pure bottom heavy boi. I'd be sad if he died, but I'd eventually move along.
>>2558311Thank fucking god for >>2558224I would've been so damn sad irl
>>2558320Would've been a good reason to raise him as an intelligent undead. Also, we should probably let the dark druid care for the crazy poisonous plants.
>>2558339Agree to cast preserve on them until we can bring him over or go back and get some tips?
>>2558139>Plant our new herbs before we depart for Pug, get Chemmy to help>Roll 1- Complete and unarguable failure. An attempt is made to upgrade your garden with the new herbs and seeds you collected from The Rotwood. Things don't go so well: they're powerful reagents that are far more potent then Chemmy was or has been used to and he comes inadvertantly contaminated. Chemmy is poisoned. Chemmy becomes very sick. Chemmy suffers terribly: fits of fever, nausea, his vision fades, his tummy and bowels void themselves, and his sense are overcome by terrible delirium and hallucination. Chemmy is going to die and there's very little you can do about it. If you try to transfer the poison to another animal or creature- Chemmy's small Goblin body may die from shock. You can't 'control' it, it's not a disease and Scraps of Life would only sustain him in a perpetual state of suffering. Chemmy wants you to kill and eat him.>>2558224>Can I save it>20- Yeah, that'll do.Okay, well, you're not doing that. You like Chemmy. You're gonna try something a little unconventional.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJkVwt_JJXoYou bring out that rotted tome you got from Pug and cross reference a few of your own spells and what you already know about magic, specifically about medicine. You're basically going to Rot the ailment inside of Chemmy. >New 'Heritage' Spell Learned: Bogbugaest "Transmutation, An extremely strong purgative spell: cast on an individual, it weakens 1 disease or poison enough for the target to recover and in turn become immune to 1 disease/poison. Casting this on someone who isn't sick will cause health issues." This is the single most difficult thing you've done since you've got here. Chemmy is stable and can now stomach the root n' honey mash you've been trying to feed him. "Oh, good, you saved Chemmy. Now he can live to see a ripe old age of 20. " Avarice is acting touch, but it's obvious he's been crying. Demons are shit at hiding their feelings. This whole small adventure ate up half a week. You're smelly and exhausted, but relieved. You tell Avarice you'd like to go to Pug in a couple days. Well that was crazy. Accepting new Rolls. Even if it's just to say, "yeah, lets go to pug right now.
Rolled 10 (1d20)>>2558384>Chemmy wants you to kill and eat him.Fucking metal.Right. Cloth up some Gnolls. See how well they fair. Go to the Commune for some gear. Ask how much we need for that tower commission.Would us being seen with the Changelings ruin their rep?
>>2558384The Commune or Pug. Which ever the majority votes for.
Rolled 18 (1d20)>>2558384>picking a good version of the best Nintendo songMy respect grows daily SpaghettiAlso, holy fuck I'm glad I didn't kill Chemmy...I guess just check on the state of the lair before we leave for pug like if we need to build more pits for them yet.Let's have the gob skellies and the snowballs begin expanding the cellar of the other house in prep for future use, possibly linking them by tunnels
>>2558432>build more pits for the slimes yetDon't want what happened to the Goblin village to happen here
Rolled 5 (1d20)>>2558384Kiss chemmy on the mouth and make sure to remember to bring that acorn with us
>>2558384Chemmy lives! Let's find less risky ways to deal with those turbo poisons plans in the future. Any way, let's go to Pug.
>>2558442Well by the nature of this spell Chemmy should be immune to their effects and can now handle them a bit safer.I'm sure they still have dangers like rashes or blisters but I don't think he can be poisoned like he was
>>2558442After a small time skip full of caring for Chemmy that is.
>>2558384Also, have the Avarice Demon or the Hobbs keep an eye out for whatever the Changeling Thief remains are left. We can at least see if they had any coins or weapons if the plants acids don't corrode them too much
>>2558440>Chemmy spew chunks cuz he's still a little sick>>2558432Other house? What other house?
>>2558454We cleared out a neighboring house in order to expand our lair here >>2554490>+Basic Lair Expansion requirement met: 1 additional farm house. I know we're pretty settled on the Necromancers Tower idea once we depose Catherine but no reason we can't spread out a bit until then
>>2558440>>2558432>>2558428>>2558418>>2558442Here's what you do.>Make sure the house is in good hands. It turns into a week, but you nurse Chemmy back to health and feel confident enough to head over to Pug. You collect your things, your traveling tome, and check in with Avarice. "Me and the girls will keep an eye on things. I'll take care of all these little gay idiots, no worries, boss." You tell them to connect the basements and to keep an eye on the plants- The Fly Traps will spit out that thieves treasure any day now. "No worries, I've got my greedy eye on it, boss."You give Chemmy a smooch- he's still to weak to be lewd, "N-no, love~ come back~ You gotta suck the poison out of me~" Well enough to make innuendos though.>Briefly stop by the Commune: Show them the Nut. Your next trip is Commune #9: you're once again stalked and idoled by a small crowd of Homunculi girls while requesting an audience with their Architect which is granted. He greets you warmly and you feel his brilliant arcane aura once more, "Good to see you again, what can I do for you? Any new projects? Breakthroughs? Nice eyes by the way, you been studying hard I see." He grins, pointing to his own vividly hued and glowing pupils. You show him the Dark Nut. "My god, now this IS something special. You say you found this in the Rotwood? Fascinating." He takes your hand and leads you to his botanical study."This is a Mana Seed- Well, it's a Miasma Seed is more like it. That Tree outside feeding the mana fountain we Homunculi drink from: it's what a 'normal' Mana Tree looks like, but this? It'll either pour out a fountain of pungent miasma or.. Suck it up. I can't tell until it grows." He hands it back to you. "I could grow it for you if you want in some sterile lab conditions. Test it out. But I'll let you decide what you want." You tell him you'll think about it, but until then you've got business in Pug. >Arrive at Pug.It's raining when you get to Pug, coming down real fuckin' hard and even with all that water you'd think it'd wash off the filth, but somehow it makes the stink even worse. All the pooling water comes flowing to the drain in the center of the town and forms a steady waterfall of filthy water pouring down to the sewer. Pug is as busy as it's ever been: squealing Orcs fill every nook and cranny, these people are too busy to give you any trouble. You're in Pug for now. Actions accepted. Pug has the following features: Typhus LodgePubSlave MarketFighting PitRegular Market *Sewer*Do whatever you like- I'll try to fit them all in, three at a time, like usual.

>>2558567Shit I realize this roll is pointless. Pug is underground. That means no rain.
>>2558531>>2558545>Check the Regular Market>Roll 18- Near perfect success! With your fancy magic demon coin purse you'll never run out of money ever again! Until, that is, you actually run out of money. So, you head over to the Regular Market and see what they've got cookin' and vendoring. The Market is in full swing: even in the rain Orcs are still out in this weather like hogs in mud, squealing about their various deals, specials, and slashed prices. The place is a hive of activity and you can't help but splurge a little. >New Equipment: Orcish Tools: "While of questionable quality, Orcish tools are perfect for any worker or craftsmen who simply does not give a shit about his equipment. These tools will live through anything.">New Equipment: Orcish Weapons: "A few firearms, axes, scimitars, polearms or are they spears? Either way: these weapons are cheap and ugly, but they work. Just like the Orcs that made them.">New Livestock: Orcish Hogs: "These aren't what you think- Orcs do actually raise pigs and they're damn good at it. These Pigs get fat. Fast. and they'll eat anything." The goods and livestock are sent away back home on Cumulus, so you have a few hours to waste before you can use another one.>>2558535>>2558524>Seance the Filth Demon into coming out to meet us.>Roll 11- Weird, but good.You... Want to see the Filth Demon, but boy do you absolutely not want to visit her home. Especially while it's flooded, so you take a break in the Temple and out of the rain and Seance her. Reception is a little spotty.. but eventually-"Verminus, my lord, is that you?" Who's Verminus? "O-oh! A-ah, little Necrolyte, my apologies! H-how are you? What a pleasant surprise!" You tell her you're in Pug, visiting, doing business, and that you'd like to see her. "A-hah.. Yes, I suppose you wouldn't want to meet me down here..Y-yes, one moment." The two of you rendezvous at the Pub- she puts on some clothes and bounds back her front butt and everything. She isn't the smelliest creature there if you can believe that. You order some food -some actual food- and the two of you talk for a spell. You ask who Verminus is, "O-oh, it's.. Uh, no one, really." The mood is a little awkward, you ask her how she likes Pug."Oh! It's uh, well it's perfect! There's lot of tasty filth and it's wet.. The uh.. People don't mind me." You've noticed that; Orcs don't really seem to respect or disrespect Demons- they just 'allow' them to exist. You don't end up getting much out of The Filth Demon- she may have just wanted a friend to talk to, she seems very conscious about.. everything. Accepting new Actions.

There's a Lady here checkin' you out: her neck is way too long, she's dressed way too formal, has a parasol, may have stolen her tits from someone else judging by the stitching scar, and is accompanied by several other pale pointy eared people.. Are they Vampires? Do they come here? You give her a drunk little wave. She seems happy to see you! Well, if that's the case, you waddle on over to say hello~! You introduce yourself as the amazing, stupendous, drunk and pennyless Necrolyte: master of life and death, fucker of goblins, flipper off of demons, the only human in copse- which means you by defacto have the BIGGEST human cock in copse. THE BIGGEST. For just a moment you are Lady Cheval Mallet, cousin of Mimas and exiled in shame, lady and the true heir to the Cheval Mallet Estate. A small teenage human child is acting ridiculous and extremely offensive in front of you. You, though, allow this for several reasons:-1. This is the first Human you've seen in 213 years and you're quite frankly overcome with a mix of embarrassing arousal and hunger. You're so fucking sick of Orc Blood.-2. He is a Necromancer. You're 412 years old and you understandable need some maintenance work done.-3. He's cute. You tell your hands to calm down, you'll permits his rude behavior. "Ah, yes, little boy~? Are you cold? Hungry? Are you okay? Would you mind coming with me?" The small drunk Necrolyte slurs his speech, but responds to you in serviceable Cockaigne of all things, "Madam, I will have you know.. >>2558928>>2558949>>2558954>>2558958Ever been in a casual conversation that went so badly that you lost a limb? You're about to.
Rolled 16 (1d20)>>2558958Save?
Rolled 15 (1d20)>>2559057I'm rolling again to see if we'll have Spaghetti tonight
>>2558911>may have stolen her tits from someone else judging by the stitching scarAnyone remember the joke line of the Forsaken women in Wow?"YES they're real. They're not mine, but they're real!"
>>2559054everyone involved, and a few innocent bystanders. We were just chatting, someone was drunk, I don't even remember who, next thing I know someone was saying we should all get tatted up together, but that wasn't hard enough...So we all got amputations to remember that one time we hung out in Pug. Good times... Good times.
He seems willing and interested to help. He doesn't seem like a bad boy, he's just drunk. You instruct your hands to clean him up a bit, get him out of the rain, and into the coach so he can be taken back up to the castle. Comfortable in the horse driven coach (a small luxury provided by the orcs) You introduce yourself to the young man as Lady Cheval Mallet, current ruling "Chieftain" of Pug and queen of this embarrassing kingdom of mud you see before you. He's handed some hot chocolate by one of your Thralls/Spawn and he takes to it quite quickly- sipping politely. You hope he sobers up enough to understand the priviledge he's being given. >>2558928>Sober up and realize the gravity of this meeting"I realize.. the gravity... of your huuuuge fuckin' titties, madam. The shape..they're amazing." Good. Heavens. Nobody has ever spoken to you in such a disrespectful manner, such contempt for authority, you need to confirm he's not just some foul mouthed drifter grave robber, so you gaze over him with your undead eyes. >>2558949>If yes use our undead sense to see if he looks dank enough for his profession."Madam, I am very familiar with the dark arts. " He taps a sip of his hot chocolate. "And if there is one thing I know about Sense Undead: is that you can see through my clothes. " The brazen young man spreads his legs wide open and fully exposes himself to you. You get a powerful, full bodied, vision of both his aura in more ways than one. Gracious. Me. >>2558958Rude, this child is RUDE. There's no way such a crude and impolite wretched child could be a Necrolyte, never mind a 'true' Necromancer. Never. You refuse to believe his lies: you'll fatten him up and keep him as a pet to feed on him. He's just another savage unworthy of your court, you'll gladly go another century without any hu-"Hmn, these are actually a little uneven. Let me fix that, hold on." The boy in black sets down his hot chocolate, rolls up his sleeves, and slips his hands into your blouse and places his unbelievable warm palms on the faces of your busom. He then completely restores and reconstructs your damaged breasts. They weren't even yours (not that you'd tell anyone) and he's seamlessly fused them to your body: on the thematic level. They're no longer just 'sewed on' their YOURS now. Fuck. FUCK. You are now the Caster Boy. You've woken up in a very large, very fancy bed: laying next to you is a very tall lady. She seems quite happy, "Hmn, come back to bed my pet, you're so warm"- pulling you into her large, soft, cold, bosom. You're confused, but there's treasure and.. it's for you? Last Roll: d100. Roll for Compensation.
Rolled 9 (1d20)>>2558911Learn spells from the filth demon. How the fuck did everyone miss this?
Rolled 24 (1d100)>>2559099Rolling then finish reading
Rolled 49 (1d100)>>2559099big money no whammy

>>2559103A little late>>2559132Not spectacular>>2559136Slightly below average>>2559137Near perfect holy shit
Rolled 19 (1d100)>>2559153Not my fault you all forgot
>>2559153well you see, 24 is REALLY just 13 + 11.The combination of>OUR NUMBERand>weird but goodis probably ok, right?... Right guys?
Rolled 40 (1d100)>>2559099See you next week. Too bad you don't run on sundays.
>>2559164All forgot what? Maybe we shouldn't visit people for the sake of learning spells?
>>2559183We're a magician. Learning spells is what we do. Spells were mentioned repeatedly by people as one of the reasons to swing by Pug and then we derped, stop telling off the guy for reminding us.
>>2559189No I mean not make it a priority to meet and greet people for the sake of spells and not hanging out?Maybe I am rude...still don't like the demon.
>>2559210You're being worse than rude. You're turning your nose up at a potentially useful opportunity because you dislike the people involved for no good reason. You're snobby, anon.Hope you knock that shit off real fast.
>>2559132>Rolled 24 (1d100)>Low End Quarter. Your first reward.. Isn't a tangible reward. You just spend a few more hours in bed and receive what could be the most powerful session of fellatio you've ever experienced. She practically messages your whole upper body with her breasts and where did she learn to do THAT with her tongue?! >>2559136>Rolled 49 (1d100)>Below Average.Your second reward. She gives you a gold coin. An actual real gold coin. Made of Gold. GOLD. GOLD GOLD. You've never seen so much money in your entire life. T-this has to be a mistake? The nice tall lady rolls off of you and to the side, clearing her, ah 'throat', "Ahm.. Don't you remember? I couldn't believe it myself, you were so brazen: you healed, repaired, and reconstructed every square inch of my body inside and out....Not to mention the work you did after.." She shivers in delight. "It was quite frankly, spectacular, and I felt it all." You don't remember any of this!!!>>2559137>Rolled 98 (1d100)>Near Perfect. She motions over yonder, "I've also had my Spawn tailor and cobble you a new suit and catalyst. I can't have my pet going out in his hobo-rags." >New Equipment:>Court Necromancer's robe "Both functional and ritually ornate robes. Often worn not by the dead themselves, but living practitioners whom the Undead courts they serve find their uniquely 'warm' dark arts to be absolutely intoxicating.">Rotwood Archstaff, "Normally miasma would rot a piece of wood, but for some reason this polished staff greatly enhances the flow of negative magics." Meta note: You've met all of the 'minimum' requirements to 'potentially' defeat Catherine: high end equipment [x], powerful ally [x], demon/spiritual bonds [x]. There's still more you can do to improve your odds, but had you: you might be able to defeat her as is. 'might'.
>>2559266>More skeleton mages>mass casting ghost hand>ora ora ora ora
>>2559266Would the quest continue after defeating Catherine or would that be the win state wrapping it up?
>>2559266Aaaahhhlrighty! That's it for this week! I hope everybody had fun! I'm glad I was able to finally introduce >The REAL Lady Cheval. The thread is archived, so go vote: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?tags=caster%20quest It'll make me happy. My tumbls is here if you've got an ask or a request: http://spaghettiart.tumblr.com/ I said I'd draw something last week and then I didn't, so I'm just gonna say.... I could be doing more.I wana thank everybody who stuck around, everybody who came in at an odd time, and to whomever popped in right as we started fuckin' this here 412 year old Vampire Queen 'Cougar'.
