"Oh prince let me tell you of time after the great city of Illian was despoiled and before the rise of the men of Asshur. I will tell thee of a great warrior who appeared from the dark corners of the earth and tred the kingdoms of the earth beneath his feet. Let me tell of a time of HIGH ADVENTURE"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHfE682mm3cThis is my second quest that I'm running. For those who haven't seen it I do Titanic tournament quest but since summer is here and I'm out of school for a while I thought I'd do a sword and sorcery themed quest. I'm going to run a campaign with my friends come fall and I thought a quest might give me ideas for the future.okay here are the ground rules for this quest.>I will post the PCs current status at the beginning of the thread.>rolls are d100, but I will specify if rolls are needed or if another type of dice is needed>rolls are are made against a static dc or an oppossing role by an NPC with degrees of success measured by a difference in 10s>I will post options and specify when write ins are appropriate>PC base stats are always an unmodified d100 with a maximum 2 degrees of success.>Successful actions will contribute to leveling up traits determine stats with each successful roll bringing the PC closer to leveling up>Critical rolls are 1 and 100 but their effect is contextual out of combat and in combat crits result in wounds. Wounds accumulate when critical hits that land and debuff your PC or debuff NPCs with enough wounds resulting in death, they require medical attention to heal.>You can pretty much wander anywhere in the world and the only plotline will be an ambition that you choose for your character. The plot will then pretty much focus on achieving that goal although new goals can also be picked up.Those are just the guidelines I can think of right now but they might change. Otherwise have fun posting and lurking.
Before you venture into the world to tread the mantle of civlization beneath your sandled feet we need to build your character. What is your characters general demeanor?>Stern and disciplined>Genial and easy going>Hotblooded and cantankerous>Gentle and upright>Sly and roguish

The region is also filled to the brim with monsters and mega fauna.>Asshur- a land of flat plains in the center of the world, filled with cities and large ziggurats dedicated to the gods the men of Asshur are cruel and hellbent on conquest>Gramdin- One of the grand duchies in the middle kingdoms, sovereign if only for the moment, located near the center of the middle kingdoms.

>>2533510Depends on what you're hunting but ogre's and trolls are common and both have 100+ HP high damage reduction and 30+ strength on top of being large sized creatures with bonuses toward strength checks as a result. There are dire beasts present, some flame drakes (wolf sized armored fire breathing lizards), wyverns (large flying fire beathing dragon kin) if you go deep into the mountains, Giants both of the fleshy and Ice variety (BAD NEWS), scourge beasts (Rabid 7ft scavvies ridden beastmen with some random mutations, they attack in groups), Undead (they vary but their are some lich warriors and if you go deep enough into the mountains there are tomb fortresses with a lich king inside)If you work your way up and build up good equipment and skills you can take on these horrors yourself, but it might be a good idea to get some hirelings, or join a merc outfit or a troop of adventurers.

>O Prince I shall tell you of that man who wandered from end to end of the earth and desired to help his fellow man. For the kindness of the lord of the sun was with him and the mercy of the lady of fresh waters was possessed by himThe green hills gleam with the dew of a spring morning. Winter has passed away and now at last you may begin your wanderings. The money you had saved clacks inside your pack and the sledge you have tied to your back is rather heavy will all of the supplies and equipment you own.Of course the armor and weapons are essential, after all criminals on the road, beasts or some abomination may cross your path, the surgeon kit will also be of great help should you become injured.Looking back from atop the hill's summit, a pang of wistful regret strikes you. Your village remains there, smoke coming from the tiled cottages and gentle folk going about their day walking along the cobble paths to their honest works. It had been hard enough preparing for departure while also preparing in your father's funeral rites. The old man had taught your hands to heal, and how Sol grants men relief from their struggles, but there is nothing to hold you now.No kin remains in that place, nor opportunity to hold your attention. The gentle rolling hills and mild winters of this place will be distant in time. Wandering from the hills of your childhood and into the wider world, the morning sun shines from heaven. The clouds have dissapated and marching down the paved highway you occasionally notice a passerby, you even see a man with his driver in a chariot, a big one two with four stallions, each rippling with muscle and nickering as they go by.It's when you reach a signpost that you stop to see.You can't read, but luckily the sign post has pictures as well as words.Where do you go?>To the north east, the sign shows a city with men marching in formation>To the south where there are pictures of ships>To the north west, there is a picture of a vast forest and mountains.

>>2534678>>2534639You've heard that to the north there is wilderness and various peaks and hills filled with ruins, and wild places. Warriors often plunder them for tresure or to remove criminal elements from them if they are empty. Many beasts also dwell there, so hunting and gathering rare resources is a decent option. But from the look of the signpost the forest is leagues and leagues away. You may be illiterate but you are familiar with number symbols. It will take at least a week of travel by foot if you don't care to run all the way there.A man passing on the highway points that a small city is between you and your destination so there will be someplace to rest while on your journey.Roll for encounter 1d100(this is it for me tonight I'll come back tommorrow by 2pm EST

It's roughly human shaped but its hard to tell on the flat plain you're now on.Once closer you identify the shape as an extremely large humanoid figure. Lugging hammer, anvils, and other smithing tools is a cyclopes. What's strange though about the one eyed behemoth is that a child sits on his shoulder on a makeshift saddle."There's a man with weapons coming up from behind us Mr. Argus."When the cyclopes looks over his shoulder to see you, you get a good look at the massive eye he sports. It smokey or milky in color with a filmy like reflection. The poor man must be half blind. In addition to the look of blindess you can see that the edges of the eye are red and pus is built up around it."Who goes there? If you mean to take my life or the boy's you will find it harder then you think." The rumble of the cyclopes's voice sounds like rocks grinding. A large grey beard and thin grey hair covers the head of the one eyed giant, gigantic shoulder and equally gigantic hands covered with scars, and burns."I mean no harm sir. I'm merely a traveler on the road. I saw you from further back and became curious. I have no desire to harm you or the child."The cyclopes rumbles before waving you off."Then go along then, no need to bother us manling.">Do you leave and go on ahead or stay and try to talk with the odd pair?

>>2537083Stay and talk. Ask if they know anything of the wilderness to the north.
>>2537117"If it wouldn't be too much trouble I'd like to walk with you. Not everyday you see a cyclopes."The cyclopes grumbles but doesn't make any move to attack you."Don't be discouraged. Mr. Argus is really nice, he's just worried about me. My name is Petros. I'm Mr. Argus's eyes."The young boy on the giants shoulder points to the sledge filled with smithing tools being dragged behind them."Mr. Argus is the best blacksmith in Achea. He was the personal forgemaster for the king of Menos since forever."The giant raises his hand and lightl pokes the boy with one of his gnarled fingers."Oof.""Be quiet boy, you need not tell every traveler on the way about us." The chastisement is not severe and while Argus keeps his face from you, a ghost of a smile you can tell is on his face."Are you going to the wilderness in the north by chance? I'm going there right now as part of my journey."The cyclopes nods. "I journey to the mountain of my kinsmen. I am growing old and like all of my kind I have begun to lose my sight. I must go to impart my knowledge so that it will not be lost."You turn to look at the smithing tools again. It's rather strange that he goes all the way back to his people to teach metal working. "Don't you have any apprentices? If you've been in Menos for so long there must have been at least one student worth teaching."The laughter that escapes the giant's throat quakes the earth a bit and almost knock Petros off his perch."It's not a matter of finding a student manling. My kind knows the riddle of steel. Such a secret should not be given out frivolously. No that riddle must return to my kin. If any man wishes to learn it, it must be done according to tradition. You are released by your master and work the iron until the solve the riddle. No other way is acceptable. To simply give it away would devalue it, besides any smith who can figure it out by themselves has earned the honor."Wow. You hadn't thought that anyone would be so uptight about a trade secret."Hmm. Well that's interesting. Do you know anything about the area beyond the mountains? I was planning on staying there for a while, maybe look for work."The boy tugs on the old giant's beard."Isn't that forest there haunted? You told me we are going around it Mr. Argus." Argus nods his head"Correct boy, the forest fence guarding the mountains is filled with beasts and those nymphs. Don't be fooled manling that forest is dangerous, there are hidden things that need a strong arm and an even stronger spirit to withstand in that place. Parties of warriors go in, but many do not return at all, not even a crazed survivor to tell a tale."Well that bodes ill."I will keep that in mind. What is this forest called, and who claims it?"The cyclopes scratches his chin in contemplation.(1/2)
>>2537367"When I came down from the mountains the king of Pelas claimed it, but that was over a hundred summers ago, so it might have changed. The forest however is called Morsylvania, the doomed woods. The name is no exaggeration all manner of strange things dwell there. And if you see women at dusk or dawn an they are unclothed or without a camp or supplies. RUN. Many men have never returned because of those woodswomen."Digesting this new information you point down the road where a city lies between you and your destination."Are you going to rest in the city that lies ahead?"The giant shakes his head."In my state it will only invite thieves to stel my tools, and the guards will be bother the whole time. The boy and I will camp beyond the walls before continuing on."Huh.what do you do?>Go into the city and spend some time there>Stay with the cyclopes and boy and journey with them until you reach the forest.

It's a good solid bronze spear, hardly a poor weapon. But how did the giant know it was bronze, you doubt he can see color."How did you know-" The cyclopes points to his nose."My eye can barely see but I got a nose for metal. Could smell that bronze the moment you weren't down wind. Hehehehe."The boy joins Argus in laughing. Charming duo these two even if it's a little odd.>You camp with Argus and Petros outside the city, that you now know is Duros, a trading city that runs between Pylos, Pelas, and Argos the great fortress city.while you camp do you have any questions for the pair?>Write-in

>>2537726>>2537731>>2537746>>2537754>any tips for me to survive the dangers in the forest?Aye I do. Don't go in at night alone. You can venture in alone in the daytime and face threats you can mostly handle alone, but once night falls nasty things always appear. If you plan on going deep into the forest I advise being in good company unless you become some great warrior. There are 3 kinds of threats in that forest. The first are bands of brigands and murderers who hide from any authority from within the woods, plenty of work clearing them out, and plenty of loot as well. The second threat is all the beasts and monsters that live within. Packs of wolves, big bears, great eagles that roost in the mountains hunt in those woods. There are deer that hunger for flesh in those woods so don't be fooled if you see one that looks funny. Hmm let's see, there's bg snakes that spit venom, big boars with skin so thick it might as well be metal armor, and elementals. Nasty things, they come down from the mountains, they are man sized and have a core in them that you need to breech in order to kill them. Fire elementals have molten rock for blood, and can light you on fire. The earth elementals are strong and have ore and half formed metal for flesh so they're tough stuff, and the ice elementals are made of rock and ice, but they got some of those lodestones in them so they can fire sparks of lightning as well as cold. The final threat are the nymphs and saytrs that live deep in the forest and the bing graves and tombs that are also present. The dead gnaw any who enter those places, and the nymphs and saytrs are capricious as can be. They speak with the voices of your loved ones and try to take shapes that will get you to drop your guard. You'll need iron to harm them, so bronze is right out, and some can shapeshift into nasty creatures when they feel like it.Real nasty place to be, so be prepared and retreat if you encounter anything to much for you to handle, no shame in not wanting to die.>>2537731>can you improve my spear? No I can't. My eye is failing and without my sight I can't properly smelt or temper metal. The eye is important in smithing, you need to hone the instinct to read how hot the forge and the metal you're working is. You need to precisely stike when the metal is at the perfect temperature otherwise you'll not make progress, and you need to queench it when it's at the correct temperature as well. Besides I don't have a forge with me, just my tools, and without a strong heat to work your weapons I can't do much.>>2537731>how hard is it to pick up blacksmithingHard, but its a discpline that requires intense focus, strength and determination. You need to hone your instinct to identify status of the metal you're working, and experiment with metal in order to make progress, unless you got a master to teach you the basics and proper technique. I could teach you if you ever visit my kin at Mt. Brontes.(1/2)
>>2537867>Can I have a look at your eye it looks infected, I have some medical training and a kit with me.Aye I'd appreciate that, the boy has been try to help me clean it but my hands are too big and he can't drain them properly, at least not without blinding me entirely, Hehehe."Do you use one of the ten uses of your surgeon's kit to drain and clean Argus's eye?>Yes>No(you'll get a reward if you do.)(2/2)

>>2538241>>2537918>>2537917>>2537896>yesStanding over Argus you gently pull the eyelid open to examine the irritated flesh bordering the eye. Highly swollen and weeping pustules line much of it.Taking an obsidian tipped scalpel you carefully lance each and use water that's been boiled and put through a bag filter to drain the pus and tainted blood from the wounds. Once the pus is gone you take the glass container of antiseptic and small bit of wool on a tiny metal rod and swab the affected areas, making sure to use as little chemical as possible and avoid direct contact with the eye."That should do it. Take care to avoid touching the area around your eyes with your hands and try to wash it out with clean water for the next week or so. There are some local plants that you can buy from an apothecary that when boiled in water makes good antiseptic."Argus blinks experimentally wiht his singe massive eye and sighs contetedly."Good work manling, that feels leagues better then before. Feels like my eye isn't on fire anymore."Argus turns to loo behind and gropes in the dark until he pulls his sledge closer to the light of the campfire."Here for your troubles. I can guess that you're interested in learning some smithing correct?"The cyclopes produces a large bag of tools. Hammers and whetstones, tongs and a bladder of some sandwiched between two metal plates."You are correct. It's really quite an interesting and useful profession. Making my own tools and equipment will be invaluable especially if I journey beyond Achea."Argus and Petrus both nod silently."You going to see the world Mr. Alex?"Petrus takes one of the hammers laid out and swings it absent mindedly."Yes I think I would like to meet new people and help them. There are all kinds of people who have difficult lives due to happenstance or poor fortune. I'd like to go and help make their lives a little easier. Plus visiting far away places has always been something I've wanted to try. I'm not even a few days from my home and I've already seen things entrely new to me. Never would have though I'd just meet a master smith whose also a cyclopes just walking down the highway."Argus takes a bit out of a large leg of lamb before talking again. Spraying fat and juices while doing so."You've got a good heart on you manling. You a priest or something? With talk about helping people you sound like clergy from the sun god."You shake your head and chuckle."No but I get that sometimes, I keep sol but I'm not clergy, but visiting the great temple in Argos would be great. I heard if you bring a good sacrifice to the great alter Sol will give consel."Petrus reaches into his tunic and produces a miniature iron hammer wrought inside a gold flame cast."Mr. Argus brought worship of Nahgroth the fire god to Menos. He even helped build a new temple there too."The old cyclopes chastises the boy by pulling him back by his tunic.(1/2)
>>2538795"Don't be bragging on me boy. It isn't fitting for an old man like me to tell travelers about everything I've done.""But Mr Argus I'm the one who said all that stuff.""Being humble is important boy, especially on the road. Last thing we need is some sneak in the shadows thinking we may have idols or worse getting one of Zeres's priests to give us a hard time. Up here in this part of the country there are more worshipers for her."Petros looks down in resignation"Yes sir."You smile silently. It seems that these two have a very familial relationship."Is Petros an apprentice? I can't imagine he'd only be your eyes unless you adopted him."Argus nods."Yep. The boy is helpful and he volunteered to an apprenticeship until he's grown. After he's learned from me and my kin on the mount he'll take my place as forge master in Menos."You whistle. Not beause they are drinking and gambling but because they are the only openly armed people aside from the town guards. On the opposite side of the agora is a group of men in heavy bronze armor and metal covered shields. One of them sits with a ledger of some kind.Sperate from the normal folk or the soldiers, are men and women praying and ministering to Idols. I wanted to ask you some questions if that's okay."The farmers look at you blankly, surprise on their faces before they look to each other."Uh. Okay. Yes that's fine." One of the farmers tentatively says."I've noticed there are a lot of warriors here. Why is that? Also what kind of crops do you farmer like to grow here?"They farmer briefly whisper to each other while you watch in anticipation. You smile brightly."Uh well, we farm plenty here. The soil is good so we grow wheat as well as barley. We got fields for onions, garlic, and cabbage, and orchards full of olive and fig tree. We also grow some seasonings like thyme, sage, and mint. We also raise pigs, sheep, and some cattle."You continue to smile and nod. "You are lucky, soil good enough to grow a good amount of wheat is hard."The farmers look surprised that you knew that. They nod appreciatively."Ah well. Thanks. And uh the warrior types are here on account of the forest. Full of nasty things. Every night we lock the gates up tight and no on goes in or out. The priests take turns burning incense and waving around rods of iron to ward away the forest nymphs and saytrs. They will take on human shape and try to trick you into geting close and then they run off with you to eat you alive in the woods."The farmers all nod and spit in unison. It seems they really hate the forest creatures a lot."Not that these soldiers or warriors bother to help us. They usually just work to pad their purses, and get the favor of the king when they take down criminals who hide in the forest. No care for what happens to us."The farmers grumble togethor and spit again. You are sensing a pattern with how these men show contempt."It's getting worse though. Children have begun disappearing in the fields. One second they are working with their parents doing just about anything and the next they disappear with hoofs prints or foot prints leading into the woods. We beg and yell for the soldiers from the city to help but they don't care at all."This time the farmers remain silent. Faces downcast. You can imagine that some of them might have lost family due to this. What do you do?>Ask more about these abductions and how you could stop them.>Ask about the local soldiers and who's who.>Ask how you can help or what you can do to solve local problems.(This is it for tonight see you tomorow at 2PM EST)

>>2539994>>2539796>Ask about the abductions"Tell me more about hese abductions. How long have they been happening?"The farmers look at you cautiously."Do you intend to help?" One of them asks. You nod. "I'll help anyway I can. No one should live with the fear that one of their children will be abducted by monsters."The farmers draw closer and sit by you."It started happening about half a year ago. At first we started hearing foot steps at night around the walls and gates, but then people in the fields started seeing things in the early morning and later when the sun went down. Figures moving through the tree line and watching them. Eventually they started kidnapping children who were alone, maybe to get water or play. Then even when we made sure every child was watched they would be taken even with an adult around. Now there even taking the adults. Two whole familes have already been carried away. We heard the screaming from a field over, saw them just before they disappeared into the treeline."A chill runs up your spine. This is madness. The man who tells you this is worn and wrinkled. He weeps openly."That was my son's family. My daughter in law and both of my grandchildren. Gone."He clasps your shoulder weakly."Please if you can. Help us in any way you can. We are not wealthy, but we can give you shelter and food."Looking upon the other farmers, you see the hollowness in their stares. The desperation. The lines beneath their eyes. "A cyclopes I traveled here with warned me that the nymphs and saytr's can only be harmed with iron. I don't know if you need the iron to weaken them or if only iron can touch them, but that's what he told me.""A cyclopes? You're a strange man to keep such company." The farmers look at you now with a mixture of curiosity and wonder."Are there any other sources of iron in town?" A scythe may work as a makeshift weapon but a proper iron weapon will work better."Those soldier guys have at least a few iron weapons, you could buy one off of them or look at the mechants, sometimes they bring gear from Pelas up north."Good now you have both the information you need to begin a proper investigation and some sources of iron to harm the forest creatures. Now you just need to form a plan. That's a sayter. There are footprints from sandles and prints from small human feet. The adults, and children who were abducted were here. You were incredibly lucky to have found this before any rain came, otherwise the tracks would be destroyed.Searching outside the scuffle you find a much better clue. A scicle. Hidden in the grass and away from the foot prints is a hand scicle. Carefully picking it up you see faint golden blood on it. Ichor from a nymph or saytr. One of the farmers must have gotten a hit on one of the beasts.if there is blood chances are the beast may have led a trail.Returning to the mess of prints you scan the grass for even the smallest glint of ichor. You find a faint trail of gold blood that lead to the tree line. You have a trail.>You go into the forest and track the trail of blood. The deeper you go into Morsylvania the more your hackles rise. The ground has been beaten down enough that the grass has died and dry bare dirt is all that's present on the gound. This must be the path the beasts take to and from their raids on the fields. If you could come here at night with a party of soldiers, you could ambush them as they come and go during the morning and evening. But the trail hasn't ended and the blood trail is getting fresher. To finished you grab the beast's neck at the base of its spine and its top jaw, then snap its neck.>you kill both wolves and get their bodies as loot>you get 10 XP for the encounter>10/100 for next level up>also you had successful rolls>you won initiative (awareness) 1/5 to next level> you used the shield 2 times 2/5 to next level> you used the spear 3 times 3/5 to next level>you grappled 1 time 1/5 to next levelTaking your spear back from the wolf cropse you fashion a makeshift sledge and drag the wolf carcasses with you into the deep woods.>You arrive near a wide clearing surrounding a massive tree.>You feel a harsh presence and dark force in the air.As you approach the end of the path you veer off and stalk your way to the edge of a clearing around a massive tree.In the clearing beneath the high sun there are figures. Goatmen with sharp teeth and cruel mocking laughs and beautiful women who dance with them under the shade of the tree. The grace and fluidity with which they move is unsettling, almost ghostly. The laughter they make chills your blood, and some you clearly see have blood stained hands and faces. But another figure approaches from the opposite side of the clearing.A gnarled hunched over man. Leaning on a cane and in robes that look musty. His eyes are crimson flames that betray his true nature. He rasps to the group of nymphs and saytr's with a voice that sounds like the stale air blowing in a open grave.>roll 1d100+10 (awareness) to hear what is being said. Hidden DC. Bo3.

>>2542949>>2542991>>2543020>DC:80>103= 2 degrees of success>You hear what the undead man is saying to the assembled fey kinYou lay prone to ground and concentrate as hard as you can to listen to the undead speak to the assembled beasts.Luckily the undead man is speaking to all of the assembled party and his voice carries over just enough that you can clearly hear him speak."Did you get any new sacrifices from the town today?" The flame eyed abomnination rasps. One of the nymphs giggles, it has a snake like quality to slithers into your ears and feels malicious in intent, like how a child speaks after they develop a fondness for torturing animals for fun."No they were pretty guarded, they walked all together, btu danced on the crops so that will worry them. You must see we made up this new-."The undead croaks and waves his hand. A wave of miasma leaks out of the decepit rotting flesh and stikes the nymph scourgng her flesh, causing it to suddenly grow grey and then fester and die. Her screams are bestial and inhuman more like a mixture of a large predator and a snake roaring and hissing at the same time."I do no care for you stupid games! I need more of those plump little fleshbags for the ritual. More children and more young women! And see if you can drag away some of the fighting men. I need more guards for the tomb."The undead turns but the assembly turns on him, barring his way with some of the assembled transforming into large beasts. Wolves that stand upright and have hands, and large serpents, one even turns into some twisted lizard man thing, mouth salivating."Fool! Stupid corpse thing! You think we care for what you say, we only do this because we please!"The undead cackles and raises his dry molded hands into the air and 4 heavily armored undead warriors appear from the tree line as the undead man cloaks himself in a miasma of death. The forest creatures recoil and soon the undead warriors encircle the undead and draw their swords. Iron that glows with a sickly green haze. Cursed iron blades. Seeing the iron and the undead warriors, skin tight around bone, eyes aglow with crimson flame the creatures back off."Do not be so arrogant to think I am afraid of you, now go before I turn you into the next sacrifice!"The sickly rasp reverberates across the clearing and the beasts flee. The undead leaves soon after that.Once you are sure everything is safe you get up and run with the wolf bodies to escape the forest before sundown. You make it back to town well ahead of the coming night and turn to look at the forest before entering in Xylopolis.Undead using the nymphs and saytr's to kidnap people for some kind of unholy rite? This must be stopped, and with news like that the town and hopefully the soldiers will be whipped up into a fury to destroy the abominatons. You only hope that the monsters are not too numerous to overcome in time.>you have found out where the fey gather and why they are kidnapping people

>>2543087Will we get the chance to fight a dragon?
>>2543087Thank you for running.
>>2543116Yes. There are several forms of dragon.Wyverns- About 15-20 feet long and the smallest of the dragonkin, but they have sharp claws and teeth, thick fire resistant hide, superheated blood that can hurt you if sprayed, and obviously firebreath.True dragons- Big four limbed and winged monsters, Huge and capable of killing small armies they have teeth and claws that are sharp like iron blades. They are extremely aggressive and have a tendency to body slam enemies if they are grounded. They also have the superheated blood and have even tougher hides. Their fire breath is lethal.Great Fire tyrant- A tyrannosaur like dragon with huge arms that have clawed hands. They can't fly but they are very craft and effective melee combatants, they have most of the traits true dragons do, but they are ven more aggressive.Great fire serpent- A giant snake that breaths fire and can tunnel with incredible speed. They are also really big.
>>2543134What are some friendly monsters?
>>2543138Not really monsters because they aren't that monstrous. The cyclopses are pretty friendly. Humans typically work for them in exchange for metal works or trade. There are some asshole cyclopses but that's just a fact of life that any group of people are going to have their antisocial murder machines. There are talking eagles, but they are somewhat dim but they can be hired to send messages for food and grooming. There are guardian wolves. Big honking wolves that guard holy sites. They can talk but aren't really interested in humans the much.Sea nymphs (Nereids) are not fey (and therefore not terrifying killers) but are the children of the sea god Tethus who is pretty chill. if you save a woman from drowing in the ocean or near the coast it may be a Nereid whom appear as regular human women (albeit very beautiful ones). They say if a Nereid takes a fancy to a man she'll kiss him and grant him the ability to breathe underwater. There are domesticated monsters like some dinosaurs and mega fauna that have teamed up with humans. One of the kings in Utgard has a sabertooth lion that he adores and frequently plays with in his own court (he is a child). There are sprites, but they are not fey and in general are rather skiddish and shy. If you can find one and befriend it, the little spirit can tell you secrets and you hide in your pockets and make childish jokes. They think and behave like small innocent children. There are godspawn that are friendly. One of the daughters of Nahgroth (The god of fire and smithing) lives in a lake in Cammlan making weapons for worthy heroes. She seems mysterious but she is rather shy and reserved for an immortal weaponsmith. Also be aware of random people who you come across. The gods take on different forms all the time so be careful, the friendly ones can sometimes give you labors to complete that give great blessings.
>>2543175>There are talking eagles, but they are somewhat dim but they can be hired to send messages for food and grooming.>be me imagining a cyclone with a giant eagle on his arm>There are guardian wolves. >>2543175>dinosaurs and mega fauna that have teamed up with humansAh, hell yeah.Sprite sidekicks when?
>>2543219>spritesDepends on where you go. The magic area you're at is a bit of a rough neighborhood and sprites as a result wouldn't stick around espeically with an undead infestation and fey around.>>2543216>magical realmPlease don't
