Welcome to part Four of the traditional Evolution game, now Traditional Evo Expanded. Anyone is free to drop in and play at any time and drop out at any time. The rules of the game are simple and are as follows:1. Find a creature that is still alive3. Paste the creature in a pixel editor program like MSPaint4. Make a noticeable mutation for them that makes sense and is not too major5. Add necessary format either in description or within its picture, please follow format shown below this post for this5. Post evo here, with a description of what changedNow, for do's/don'tsDO post no matter how shitty your art is! WE NEED YOU! It's not that hard to edit in paint, just do your best!DO try to use the pencil tool instead of brushes, as it will make it easier to edit linework and recolourDON'T mutate the same creature over twice in a row! There'll be plenty of family lines in need of love.DON'T overdo mutations. A creature doesn't suddenly grow legs, intellect and fire-breathing.DON’T forget the format, otherwise people won’t know where your creature is from or what it eats etc.DON’T forget to link back to creature you have evolved when postingDON’T forget to have fun, and don’t forget to post, more players and less lurkers is what will keep this aliveFor those that don’t know or are knew, here are some other tips that will make this a far easier experience for you, If you draw something that has evolved from nothing it will be killed offIf you draw something from scratch and its doesn’t fit on the evo tree it will be killed off (so please base size off existing evo’s, anything over 700x700 = instant death)If you need help just askIf you want to participate further the discord is https://discord.gg/kk8eJgJIf you want to show Op some love then use a name so I can keep track of how many people are playing and how many are leaving Again, without further ado, let us begin!
Here is the new format that we will be using throughout evo, for now the size limit of evos is 700 x 700 pixels, this is the size of the animal and does not take into consideration, diagrams or descriptions attached, making evo’s 700x700 is still not advised however, this size is also subject to change in future threads
Maps like this will be used during large events otherwise the new map below will be used
This is the new Map for the game. This map will stay consistent from here on in and will be used throughout all stages, prehistoric, tribal, etc. The map will change theme as era’s progress however layout will now stay consistent

Ok, it would seem ExtinctOp will not be able to GM this thread as-well, however LongShorts is now taking up Co-GM, as i'm am completely incapable of running this by myself
***EVENT***A small string of meteors passed LV-427 recently with the majority of them colliding with the dark side of the moon. A very small amount of the meteors collided with LV-427 coincidentally in the Badlands and waters surrounding it, These Blue crystals are incredibly sparse and seem to serve no purpose but Cynemorph Repellent. Other creatures that are exposed to these crystal chunks for long periods will usually experience haemorrhaging, dehydration, infections and eventual death.
Comodore, This >>2370493 → replaces this >>2369583 →
>>2380957yeah im aware but changed it to be intermediary species that is still alive due to >>2369583 being described as not making sense
>>2380963Right, hence why it was changed from the legged one to the shallows one.
>>2380826Those Nolor trees who grow near the blue crystals often have their red crystals on the side turned to the blue crystal twisted in unnatural formations. Unfortunately, these Nolor quickly succumb to the crystal's detrimental effects, leaving the end result of the malformation a mystery.
>>2381113oh boi, here we fucking go in a good way though
>>2380950I already said it in the discord so ill say it here aswell, THIS WILL GIVE YOU CANCER BOSSIt is radioactive
bump before bed
>>2381375he must be devastated now
>>2381458Oh. I meant it sincerely.
>>2371021Due to ocean currents, some members of the Talcynomorph Whip end up washed ashore into shallow pools on the western island. Some of those members have evolved to grow and spawn in these pools. Creating the TidalCynomorphs.
>>2365961 →The Flarnsaur further improves its ability to move on land to better escape predators and to hunt. Unfortunately it has lost most of its ability to stay underwater.
>>2372410 →Teir-yits evolve an extra segment to stay above the ash in the event of strong storms, they have also started to dig small tunnels for water to flow to help keep their eggs from cooking in the hot ground, as well as provide moisture to keep their structures intact
>>2361349 →The Ashbowl starts to use its excess water mixed with its waste to produce a sticky sap that burns both Talcynoberries and small pests while keeping its main body from degrading as fast.It is unfortunately not as effective against larger creatures, though sometimes small bits of it get carried far due to the sap sticking to them.
>>2380826for some Noolor, vent tubes allowed the plant to manage excess heat and prevent it from being baked. Others simply increased the available thermal mass and surface area by growing ever taller.Enter the: Noolor PalmExactly like any other Noolor, but bigger. An interesting change begins to take place inside the plant, its leaves now radiate more thermal energy than they absorb. Though the leaves are black, specialized cells endlessly convert heat energy to IR wavelength which is absorbed via chemical reaction with volcanic minerals. Reliance on the sun is slowly coming to an end.
>>2369586A very small amount of HydraGrudles begin living in the radioactive areas of the Badlands, these Radgrundles maintain very small numbers but are capable of absorbing extreme amounts of radiation and use these otherwise uninhabitable areas as safe zones from predators, generations of breeding within the radiocative zones had led to massive size increase and some mutations that are not beneficial to the Radgrundle at all.
>>2382492Some Western whips begin growing on the surface close to the water
How come nobody is posting, kinda sad
anyway urge to splurge again
Bonemaw gets armor plates and claw hands
>>2383575 forgot the link >>2366085>>2380911 night prowler loses most ability to swim and becomes suited to land
>>2369573Razor maw develops smaller serrated spikes
>>2369573SpikeMaw develops taller body and shorter tongue
>>2368240Strategic RadPurp is an offshoot of the strategic purp that relies on radiation as a defense
>>2368240Radiation GooPurp is another offshoot of the strategic purp that relies on radiation as a defense, however due to a rare mutation only the queen grows a carapace and all other purps become slimy weak workers
alright im off for now, hope this picks up
>>2383570evo fatigue. It'll pick up in a week, breaks between threads have been shown to be rejuvenating
>>2383584lol comeback>>2383590i feel like this would result in the thread dieing and players being lost forever, but if thread doesn't pick up properly within the next few days im dropping it, not sure if i would pick it up again or let it finish here, people see to of lost interest
>>2383593well there's a bunch of former games that took breaks you can refer to that didn't die.And people likely haven't lost their interest, they have spent it. The three or four consistent probably exhausted and the incidental posters don't have much to go off of in the thread yet. Feel free to drop the thread though, there's too much evo going on on qst right now anyways
>>2383595yeah, i feel like the other evo's started up again once this got some traction, not sure if they are going to face similar problems, will keep this one alive like i said for a few more days to see what happens
>>2383577NightProwler, becomes fully land based and loses ability to swim completely, this new NightProwler develops a body better suited to movement on land aswell as graspers on its arms
>>2383582>>2383581>>2380889If I remember correctly the Strategic Purps don't have Queens.
>>2383619well those ones do now, i added queens to them all because queens evolved separately from them and not at the same time so posts that didn't have queens in them were hard to distinguish from posts where the queen hadn't changed, something does have to lay the eggs after all, also >>2383275 these are currently the only uptodate evo's without queens
>>2383575>>2383577>>2383579>>2383580>>2383581>>2383582I really wish this guy was more descriptive when it comes to his evolutions.Like a single complete sentnece would be better than this sentence fragment garbage. Especially when It doens't even meet the minimum requirements.Even Anons are more descriptive.WHY did these creatures evolve? Some of these just seem too random and extreme to have happened within a single generation despite the fact that the mutation is more of a hinderance than a benefit. I know I'm bitching but its It just seems like this guy is just half-assing his way in when compared to every other player.
>>2383636do yourself a relax. here's how this post would have worked better:"Yo, keep in mind to explain the reason why the mutations that evolved were succesful in the future"
>>2383636loving the salt, dumpster is always coping shit, i understand the radiation purps have dramatic changes but yeah the others where not really explained well but i didn't think there changes where too major, atleast they are contributing *removes your judging hat and places it on myself, "unlike some people"
>>2383575The Bonemaw's relatively new back armour has led to many surviving attacks from >>2380915 DepthDwellers during the night. paired with this, Bonemaws legs become stronger as faster prey emerges
>>2383645>surviving attacks from >>2380915 DepthDwellers during the nightWait, how does a terrestrial creature get attacked by a deep sea creature?
>>2383675man ahvent you been followig the beautful evolution of the depth dwellers, essentially around three evo's ago they developed nasal passages for hunting above water in the sea leafs and then later went on to occasionally slither on to land to grab sleeping creatures when food was scarce in the ocean
>>2383686Ah cheers, got confused because it still stated deep oceans as the Depthdweller's habitat
>>2383675think of them as the boogeymen of LV-427
>>2383409As a result of having no predators on land the Western Whip spreads, evolving a more extensive root system to absorb more nutrients and water through the sand. occasionally growing caps when the roots breach the surface. The beaches of the western island are now covered with the caps of the Western whip.
So we have a yellow and black covered continent, a blue beach continent, and a dead as fuck continent near the ice caps
>>2370493A strain of Shallows bloomph near the western island has evolved to feed off the Whips>>2383797although smaller, its body is more rigid allowing it to support itself outside of the water. using its thicker limps to pull itself from the ocean to feed, while also allowing it to go ashore to avoid predators. Due to the suns exposure the species has taken on a pinkish coloration. To reflect this, this new species is called the Ploonk.
>>2380826Some Beyul plants have developed a mutation that causes some of their roots to grow above ground. While the Beyul chemical is utterly disgusting-tasting to all memebugs but the taste tester, it turns out that various breeds of Grundle roaming the lands LOVE the flavor. As they don't have the ability to digest Beyul seeds, the plant can now spread over the land using the Grundle's stomach as a transport.
>>2380806Some Grundlehoffe develop their nose for a better sense of smell and bigger oxygen intake. In addition, a pair of their back teeth grows substantially, although this mutation is currently neither beneficial nor detrimental.
>>2380889The Purpehote is a new kind of Collective Purp, distinguished by a mutation that has caused the bodies of their Collectors and Brutes to protrude downwards, giving them many advantages: the ability to use their grabbers more efficiently for Collectors, the ability to grab their Opponent for brutes, and more space for organs for both. Even further, this change has given these Purpehotes much higher land speed. Unfortunately, this gene is not present in Diggers or Queens.
Looking good guys, currently cleaning but will post some evo’s soon, also long shorts is posting a big event after he finishes work
>>2383936ahh Russian bro, your "a person" on discord , was wondering when you would post your ants
>>2384008Sorry for the delay, it was night when I was drawing them yesterday and unlike some people I need regular sleep to function.
>>2384010unfortunately playing this game has made me start living nocturnally, its 3:53am as i write this..thanks for posting though
>>2372404Some of the GrundleShoff develop larger and more powerful legs and bodies which allow for very fast speeds, these bigger GrudleSchoff are now better at avoiding predators aswell as collecting food due to their better nose hand trunk things
>>2372404Some of the GrundleShoff begin living in the badlands, these now RadShoff's are capable of living in the radioactive areas and feeding off the scraps off food that are present. Living in the Badlands has made the RadShoff safe from predators however it has also been subject to terrible mutations
the RadHead is an offshoot of the Bonehead that has begun living in the Badlands. The Radhead using its enhanced smell is capable of smelling overpopulated >>2383581 radpurp and >>2383582 Goopurp nests, the Radhead is no longer efficient at burrowing under ground and as such it can only ever eat the Purps at the top of the nest and must move to a new spot every few days. The RadHead has suffered horrible mutations which have luckily for the most part aided in land mobility, and with its new found niche the RadHead keeps the local purp populations under control
>>2384105forgot link - >>2358427>>2383613the Volcanic prowler has lost its ability to swim however its once tail is now capable of folding over itself and usable to stand up or walk on all 4's, the Volcanic Prowler due to losing its edge as a predator has also begin eating >>2383887Fruity Beyul as its primary source of food
I love how amazingly ugly (in a good way) the badlands are becoming
>>2384220This is only the beginning, it would also be interesting to see a branch of Belarus algae start growing in the badlands
>>2383936Purpehote Diggers have mutated small claws, similar to the ones of the brutes and food collectors. However these claws are present at the end of all of their limbs, making digging and moving material easier as well as providing defense capabilities for the diggers to defend the hive from invaders. This same mutation has turned their normally round body into a bullet shape which makes it slightly more difficult for the digger to turn around, as a result they make their tunnels wider to accommodate their new body shape.
>>2364024Netfisher crabs soon begin dieing in record numbers from radiation due to the new blue cystals, some of the the netfishers survive the radiation however and become immune to it. this has also come with its consequences though, the netfisher, now Radarachnid is much larger than its predecessor however it has lost its abilty to spin and make fine webs aswell as the ability to submerge in the water
Purely by circumstance, a population grundehoff was isolated and inbred to the point of near-total death by mutation, leaving a population of bloated beyul-uprooters. The trunk has raised into a chimney position to make way for the jaws, making it easier to feed. The nodes coming out of the trunk are bloated smell receptors that lead to a gigantic chambered lung. The front tooth is for eating tough food and cradling eggs. Their legs have become bulkier for digging, but far less mobile. As a result, they have to fight off predators instead of running.A population of creatures so radically different from their ancestors can't be expected to last long, and they'd likely be dead if not for their high-tolerance diet.
>>2384912Forgot to link, sorry>>2383916
>>2384912cool take on the Grundles
>>2383887Fruity Beyul grows in size and begin producing more seeded fruits under its leaf, these fruits have a slight burning sensation but are still very edible and delicious to many creatures
>>2384945A rare mutation in the fruity Beyul cause the plant to have a sweet flavor instead of a hot flavor, rare offshoot's like this would usually die, however the different flavour is actually more preferable to the original and BlueBeyul's begin spreading
>>2384945like the BlueBeyul, a rare mutation causes the FuityBeyul to lose its spicy flavour, however this new offshoot, the BlandBeyul lacks much taste and is used mainly as a staple food source
>>2384110Prowler begins living in the plains mainly, and feeding mostly off >>2384945, >>2384949 and >>2384994 . this new lifestyle favoured Prowlers with opposable grips, and faster speed. The prowlers mainly live off Beyul now with the occasional bit of meat that they can catch in the night
>>2372786 →Ambrosia Lords consume radioactive prey, which breaks down in there body becoming a radioactive poison spray.
don't let your memes be dreams
>>2383916This subspecies of Pumbahoffe known as the Short-Nose Pumbahoffe is omnivorous, hunting >>2384912and >>2385006 in addition to their usual diet. Their larger eyes and darker coloration make night hunting easierTheir shorter nose means a dulled sense of smell but allows the mouth to open wider for a nasty bite of sharp teeth.Their tusks are used primarily for defense but also are used to attract mates. Their split hoof allows for better traction when running on uneven ground.
>>2355285 →The Leaf mats grow larger and faster due to large amounts of >>2369568 → and >>2372417 → , this results in them trapping dead leaves above them, creating a sort of unique soil that traps in excess methane from the >>2366230 → when they pop. They are now large enough to support creatures roaming around on them, but still tend to stay near enough to the shore to swim to and from them
Here are some Lower Res Nolors for the peeps who have issues editing so many colors.
>>2386127... Sometimes I hate my programs, apologies
>>2384945some Beyul form their crowns to bowls in which they gather water during the rain which is slowly dispersed downwards, sharing the load with the root
>>2384994some BlandBeyul suffer from a mutation that causes more and more 'heads' to sprout, as the stem grows beyond the initial crown. This proves short-term successful as it helps in competition for light in the dense BlandBeyul forests. At a certain point however, the growing plant collapses under its own weight
>>2380889As many of the non-thermal Nolors inside the forests have found themselves overheating and burning prematurely, one strand of them thrives on the hellish climate brought about by it's neighbors. The Ash Nolor. Unable to absorb metals from the soil, the Ash Nolor burns rather early in it's life. Though looking much like it's ancestor, the hardwood Ashleaf, the Ash Nolor's Bark can withstand the fires.Burning slowly, the Ash Nolor's bark's top-layer burns off, leaving an insulating layer of Ash on the layers below. As the Nolor gets older, the ash layer thickens and grows hard, turning it into an effective protection measure, keeping the bark underneath just cool enough as to not catch on fire.It takes up to 500°C to fully set the plant on fire.
>>2384949Due to excessive grazing, The BlueBeyul has had to evolve some defensive capabilities. the first was to grow taller to avoid creatures from plucking the fruits before they are ripe, the other is to evolve a thorny exterior to prevent creatures from simply climbing the plant.
>>2386259Would a Nolor forest even be able to reach 500°C? All living things are mostly water after all, and water has a evaporation point of 100°C, so the heated trees will kill themselves before they heat anything to particularly high temperatures.
>>2386429well the nolor forests already reach 200 C on a regular basis, and these trees descent from a long line of pyrophile plants
We are going to be doing a big event, it would be great if everyone could get a second wind to push this thread to the end after the event happens. and then after that since we have been going for over a month no stop, we will be taking a break.
>>2383275Due to the successfuly hive dynamics of the Teir-yits, they have grown larger, as such they require more food.An adaptation which has proven beneficial to gathering food at night would be their new compound eyes, which pick up ultraviolet and infrared light.
>>2387092The sudden population boom of the beyul plant and lack of natural predators has given the Teir-yits even more food, allowing them to grow much larger. To compensate for the size of their new homes, the workers have started to use their natural cooling as a ingredient in their "towers" making them a lot stronger at the expense of taking longer to make. Meanwhile the "horns" on the Collectors have grown into sharper points that can be stabbed into a attacker as they are being chased, as well as a overall more tall stance to view more of their surroundings. Both kinds of Yits have also developed more articulated tarsals to even better preform intricate tasks, these new features are the same color as their mandibles due to their more delicate nature
>>2388544would be good if I actually provided the picture too.
>>2388547Oh! also every new thing they do isn't really a result of them actually knowing what their doing, but just generations of brute forcing a solution that works; there are lots of these creatures that actually just straight up died, and only about a hand full of colonies are these most recent ones
>>2386259As the Ash Nolor is able to compete with it's exothermic cousins again, it manages to claim more nutrients from the soil before burning to the ground. This has caused a massive growth spurt in it's population. The Ash Nolor now stands at 1.5 meters tall, almost 4 times larger than before.
>>2386130thanks for the art man.---Nolor Palms grow Thick. not just Thick, but EXTRA THICC!This increased thermal mass allows them to fully take advantage of volcanic heat in lieu of direct sunlight as the ash palms outcompete them for available light. In a bizarre form of very, very, slow biological warfare, the Thicc Nolor Palms will outcompete ash nolors for space not in the vertical, but the horizontal. Their metallic skin reaches temperatures greater than the non metallic plants can withstand, and will eventually bake out their rivals.
>>2388701Ash Nolors develop Biogenic Silica as a heat refraction method. Their ashy husks glisten in the light, and allow them to endure greater external heat. More importantly, the incorporation of silica as a non-essential building block allows the plants to capitalize on a new resource in soil that is very depleted. As a final form of biological warfare, the Ash Nolor will slowly shed it's silica rich leaves, burying the Thicc Nolor Palms over time.
>>2388717oh so the nolors without a vent are exothermic too now? well that's disgusting
>>2388731well in my previous post on them, they were as well, but only because the shiny tree is using up all the light. I would suggest that you could evolve them into a sort of heat driven proto bamboo with a massive central smoke stack and mostly hollow body, feeding off the volcanic soot and gasses their root system bores into deep underground, ever polluting the land. That's a nice idea right?
I know that im Op and should know the difference but could someone give me a quick outline on the differences between these badboys?>>2388721>>2388717>>2388701are they all still hot on the inside? getting confused
>>2388757well mine certainly isn't, as it's actively trying not to.
>>2388757If we adhere to previous threads, the only ones who are hot on the inside are the ones with vents, and If we adhere to physics, they cannot heat themselves to more than 100°C or they cook themselves.
>>2388845do you even fucking know what you're talking about?Literally just googling "when does wood ignite" will tell you that the average piece of wood catches on fire at around 180°C, some types won't even burn until 260°C100 isn't even enough to char most woodsit takes at the very least 120, usually more around 150.This is not even to mention that A) Nolors are specifically designed to withstand high temperatures and B) no one, not even once, suggested that this is their internal temperature. The guy who made the Nolors hot in the first place specifically stated, that they are far cooler on the inside than their surroundings, because their internal heat is regulated by vents-branches. Everything around them gets so because of the number of Nolors around. They're radiators, not ovens.
>>2362038some of the Tot-yil become mutated by the radiation of the badlands, these new Yil, bulbs are made larger by the radiation aswell as poison-less, leaving them with only a bitter taste. The Yil bulbs begin spreading fast however due to their addictive chemicals.
>>2388845>>2388757I threw it out there in chat, but they are thermophiles, that live in volcanic areas/ on the edge of. The Thicc Palm Nolor dissapates heat via huge amounts of thermal mass (its body) and its leaves/ bark radiating off heat. That same external heat source drives metabolic processes for growth within them via several mechanisms. The Shiny Ash mostly just likes light, and hates other nolors, so it suffocates them with silica covered leaves over time, causing them to enter into a heat death or just lack of light/ air.
>>2384433While the claws are now present on all limbs of Purpehotes, that is not the most important development they have recently undergone: that title would go to their improved respiratory system, allowing them to grow twice as big as before. Of course, due to the square-cube law, twice the size means 8 times the volume, and with the Purpehote's new form not requiring much additional brainpower, they now have 7 times more unused brain matter than useful. Time will tell if those new smarts will play a role...
>>2389305Not to be outdone by her subjects, the queen has evolved thicker limbs which allows her to actually move through out the hive, allowing her to escape predators and oversee the hive network. Her improved antenna is able to relay more complex instructions to her subjects than pheromones alone can do by touching her antenna to the (Forehead gem thing) of her subjects.
>>2385006A few Prowlers have developed the ability of live birth, which provides better defense for offspring.
>>2380911The mouths of the night prowler grow longer and curve to wards the end, allowing them to keep a better grip on their prey. In addition their tail fins grow a thin membrane which allows them to move faster in water.
>>2383581A new breed of Radpurp has emerged, capable of defying mutation through a new ability. Their immune cells now not only seek out infections, but also carry multiple sets "backup" DNA that they copy into other cells. While this allows the Radpurp to avoid radiation damage for a while, eventually even the backup DNA is corrupted, killing the Purp. However, while they live, they are almost as efficient as normal Purps.
>>2383582Adapted for their irradiated home, the body of the slimy weak workers have smoothed over while still keeping the same feel. A thin membrane has also developed connecting the sides of their arms which makes digging harder for them, because of it their nests are smaller and closer to the surface.
>>2389416You kinda jumped the gun with this one.
>>2383797evolving thicker roots allows the Whipcap to hold water, the thicker stems grow higher and allows the beach bound plant to move further inland. In order to better cope with their new environment, the Whipcap evolves a seed pod which contains most of the genetic material, when spores from another cap land on it they weaken the outer casing and infuse their own genetic material into the seed. after 3 weeks a new pod emerges from the seed.
>>2384994A species of Bland beyul improve the bad soil they grow in by producing a hallucinogen inside their berries. This has a minor laxative effect, causing any creature that eats them to fertilize the soil as well as being slightly addictive.
>>2385006Some Prowlers due to competition migrated to the slightly more humid southern badlands, the errant radiation mutating their bodies into hunched aggressive creatures that travel in family group packs of 3-5 families. They tend to gang up on younger or weaker members of the grundle species wandering the wastes, using their loud gravelly vocalizations to scare them into traps
>>2386406an offshoot of the BlueBeyul, the BeyBlue berries, develop much larger fruits/berries and stop growing large edible roots, instead sending the nutrients and resources to the seeded berries hanging from its leaf
>>2388701many Ash nolors, in a condition similar to cancer, grow misshapen over the course of their lives. The wide-spread defect comes from the increased heat and silica in the air.
>>2391366the malformation of the Ash Nolors continues, as the afflicted ones suffer from increased root growth, causing many of them to merge into a few bigger ones.To compensate for this, the trunk moves above ground, where it bulges out evenly in all directions.
>>2391368the deformities of the bark intensify, thanks to the crippled roots.Though they do some damage to the plant, they eventually get control over the situation, as newer generations adapt to the problem. With this, the Ash Nolor has gained branches.
>>2391371as it's new shape requires more nutrients to form, only those Ash Nolor survive that have especially dense crowns. These densely packed leaves, block out sunlight so effectively, that their black hue looks more intense.
>>2391380The energy gained from the increased number of leaves is so abundant, that it forces another major growth spurt onto the Ash Nolor to compensate. This leaves the newer plants standing at a dizzy 2.7 meters tall.
I am thinking om making a leafislad social pupstrain. having problems finging social pups that liv by the shore that whodd move onto the islan
>>2391384After reaching maturity, the Ash Nolor usually finds itself unable to reproduce, as it's heat-resistance prevents it to spread. In response to this, younger members of the plant that yet lack their distinctive Ash-bark, have started to reproduce as early as possible. This is done with a light and brittle layer of wood, that when burned, easily sheds from the tree. This Spore-bark functions as it's name implies.Though too heavy for flight under normal circumstances, the strong updrafts of the scorching Nolor forests, give it just enough air-time to leave the forests behind and spread into the wider Badlands.
>>2391399jesus christ are you having a stoke? what are you talking about
>>2391425*strokesigh, im just as bad i see
>>2391412some of the ash nolor, now outskirts nolor begin living on the borders of the badlands, although not in direct radiation, they do occasionally get exposed to high enough dosages that kill the plant. the outskirts nolor also develop deeper root systems to help keep them grounded and support the weight of cancerous bulb growths
those Ash nolor that find their way to the shore, away from the constant fires of the forests, can finally be seen in all of it's natural beauty. With the absence of fire, these Ash Nolors no longer develop ash-bark, while retaining the ability to do so anyway. The Spore-bark however has a much harder time coming off and spreading without the fires. Though no adaption is necessary, as the salty air and strong winds coming from the sea, are just enough to make them shed pieces of their bark, further helping them spread, albeit at a drastically lower rate than previously.

" A series of rumbles erupts throughout the entirety of the continent, growing louder and louder until the volcano erupts violently, throwing rocks, lava and thick choking clouds of ash into the air. The sky becomes dark, and the world becomes hot and mobile; only the most adaptable will survive"Every land, shore, and river based creature must roll 1d10, if the creature gets a 6+ it can immediately move to the next roll. Any creature that fails the roll must evolve a mutation to survive lack of oxygen, extreme heat, or sudden loss of habitat (preferably all three)The next roll is a 1d6, which determines the new location of your creature,1= The Whip beached,Florainsulam2= The mainlaind, Terrapetram (current continent everything is on)3= The cold and rocky MortemRegio4= The ever shifting Leaf Mats (any creature that gets this will become either inherently migratory or stick to the 4 or so large "islands")5= The SouthEastern Desert, Solitudinus6= The North Western Marsh, Infecturran7=Global8=Rollers Choice And the last category is the Nolors! Due to their mineral and nutrient heavy nature they have become too at risk with this new event, as they just cook inside their metal bark, leaving behind solid husks on barren land. Any new nolor evos are going to need to evolve away their metal coats and buff up their other strengths to survive this new worldMay your rolls be fortunate!

*****important****holy shit, we forget to mention in >>2391521 post, Badlands is not affected by this event, creatures in badlands do not need to migratebut if they failed 1d10 still need to mutate to survive lack of oxygen and extreme heat
>>2384100a smaller version of the radschoff evolves that requires less food and is able to better scavenge for scraps
>>2391058some dire prowlers evolve to require less oxygen, these dire prowlers are also effected by radiation so much that they have become permanently further mutated
>>2383645Many Bonemaws that don't migrate find themselves pushed into the radiation zone of the badlands due to unpleasant heat, these Bonemaws become horribly mutated and lose much cognitive ability
>>2369576 some of the Apex Bonemaw develop extremely low blood temperatures due to an unforeseen mutation brought on by radiation in the badlands, these new bonemaws have become highly mutated and are now capable of surviving in the badlands despite similar heats
>>2389416some of the prototimon that were smart enough too begin migrating from the inhospitable low level grounds found themselves in the badlands, this led to generational mutations that have left the prototimons living, however far less sentient with much shorter lifespans
>>2384105 the existing rad heads stood no chance against the now unbreathable air,a variation of them however became much more mobile and lost their mouths due to genetic mutations. this new radhead is able to feed through its hand claw which paralyses anything it touches and then penetrates the skin and begins sucking the blood of the prey , this new rad head is capable of breathing very filtered air through its back nasal passages on its head
>>2386189 a variation of the BeyulBowl, finds itself in the badlands, this plant is capable of no longer gaining its nutrients from the sun but directly from the soil underneath it, it is also able to withstand much higher heats as parts of it simply die and separate instead of killing the whole plant, the mutations brought on by radiation have also caused the beyul to develop a cup leaf which it uses to collect non irradiated water from rain to feed itself as-well as fruits that are no longer spicy but still edible
Rolled 4 (1d8)>>2385006, >>2389416rolling for a hybrid of these two
>>2391801>>2385006, >>2389416a crossbreed between the prowler and prototimon evolves which is capable of live births while also being born with the best of both species. these new Prowlers are capable of recognizing that the leafmat islands are essential huge transport ships that traverse the oceans and have food grow on them, a small pack of these prowlers get onto a lefmat island and begin their journey, hopefully to a new and better home
>>2389378>>2391619While the bodies of Purpehotes were already prepared for high temperatures by ages of inhabiting Nolor Forests, the polluted air killed the Diggers and Queens, as they did not possess the same respiratory horns as the surface-going Collectors and Brutes, seriously impacting the growth rate of the population and their digging capability. In their new, chaotic and ever-changing environment, the Purpehotes had no chance of surviving purely through physical features, not with the losses suffered from the event. A few Purpehotes have been able to thrive though, thanks to a new development in their brains: primitive problem-solving and logistics. Purpehotes are no longer limited to just their instincts, and while they are not even close to being as smart as even a monkey, they are capable of adapting to their environment in a span much less than generations and manage their resources more efficiently.
>>2391815the rest of the prowlers on Terrapetram move across the island looking for a new place to nest/settle down in, unfortunately they find themselves in the badlands after being attracted to the glowing blue crystals, generations of breeding within the badlands has led to them afterwards devolving most cognitive abilities and reverting back to savage animals
Rolled 8 (1d8)>>2389502Rolling for where these live
>>2391914>>2389502Thankfully the Replicating Radpurp's habitat was not majorly affected by the event and the heat resistance innate to all Purp derivatives was not lost to the radiation-induced mutations back when it still couldn't repair it's cells. However, air pollution was a significant problem, prompting the evolution of a biological "gas mask", which is totally not the same thing as the purpehote filter horns, I swear guys!
>>2376869Living underneath the leafmats has some major advantages when volcanoes explode. That being said they have evolved a darker coloration to absorb more natural sunlight.
>>2389378Whole some species evolved to better adapt to the new life on the surface a strain of the purpehotes has evolved to live completely beneath the surface. The queen evolves a new set of eyes more adapted at seeing minder deposits which it begins to feed off of exclusively, leading to its new jade colored crown and dull copper-infused shell, the eggs she lays are no longer transparent but have a solid shell, ones that neither the food collectors or the brutes can break so they soon die off. However the digger species can break the shells and with their new eyes begin digging deeper into the ground in search of mineral deposits churned up by volcanic activity. They share their queen's copper infused shell.
>>2383856Ploonks have slightly regressed back to their earlier ancestors, changing their mouth membrane into a filter. To better absorb light through the smoke, they have evolved their skin to a new alarmingly bright red-orange coloration. While it helps them absorb light it does not help them hide from predators.
The Periscope Crab's gill slits become much bigger and pump water much faster, aiding in both oxygen absorption and heat dissipation.

MortemRegio:The Northern Continent, neighbor only to the northern artic, the main feature of this archipelago is its large snow capped volcano and mountains surrounded by foggy beachesAvg Temp: 11°C (Highest is 14.6°C and lowest is -7°C) Weather: Windy, regular light snow storms. occasional hail-stormsLeaf Mats:A multitude of living, floating islands that travel along oceanic currents. Due to recent growth there are several the size of islands that currently house their own ecosystem.Solitudinus:The Eastern Desert, home of the badlands that were created by a meteor impact tens of thousands of years ago. It also contains a sprawling jack-knifed mountain range, several deltas to the south, and a large cliff peninsula to the north.Avg Temp: 32.9 °C (Highest is 48.8°C and Lowest is 10.8 °C)Weather: Sandstorms, Rain on the coasts, Cool winds at night Infecturran:The Northern swamp of the main-land, home to two lakes, a valley, and the largest chain of mountains on LV-427. Most of the terrain here is riddled with thick mud and hidden bogs.Avg Temp: 29°C (Highest is 32.8°C and lowest is 20.4°C)Weather: Frequent Rain, Occasional Thunderstorms, Fog in the mornings, Very Humid during sun

>>2391669>>2381113A rare mutation caused by the background radiation of the Badlands sometimes causes the Red Crystal Nolor to produce an endothermic chemical reaction, rather than an exothermic one.Normally this is rapidly fatal to the seedling as it fails to reach the temperatures necessary for its life-processes to occur, but with the new, much hotter atmosphere, some of these Refrigerated Nolor are able to maintain exactly the right temperature to survive while others overheat.

>>2391669>>2360876The leaping Zemleleaf has developed a much more sophisticated version of its leaping mechanic:The plant is now sensitive to heat and the high-tension coils also grow in its roots, albeit in a slightly different configuration. When the plant is exposed to heat from a specific direction, a chemical signal is released causing all the roots on that side of the plant to contract, releasing their grip on the soil & allowing the elastic fibres in its branches to fling the plant away from the fire. Damage to the plant will also trigger this response.Because the roots are not left behind with this method it also take less time for the plant to grow back into shape & reset this mechanism.
>>2392052Isn't alcohol a fairly efficient coolant, as well? I suppose these little booze monsters are pretty well-placed to survive on a hot, volcanic, world.
>>2392602The RCN has evolved a somewhat spongy, fibrous interior with many pockets that form a venturi outflow network. In effect as their refrigerated gasses expel, they pull in air due to the differential pressure, creating a rudimentary form of gas exchange which allows them to capitalize on atmospheric carbon for growth.
>>2391669>>2370487The Shore Scruff comes to depend on regular fires to help disperse its seeds, which have develop a thick, heat-resistant, shell.Though the adult plant may be burned in the fire, the roiling currents of searing-hot air can carry the seeds for miles, depositing them on fertile beds of ash to grow and begin the cycle again.
>>2389877>>2392580The Glurad Purp have from the badlands into the rocky mountains of Terrapetram, They are always on the move, hiding out in cracks. The queens are much more fit, leading the group as a hive mind. The queens are always fertile, laying about 10 to 40 eggs every few days. The previous known workers (middle bug) now function as scouts, leading the hive mind to various locations, they also have the most advanced glider. The food collectors (farthest right) act like both gatherers and soldiers, collecting food and protecting the rest of there group. Each small groups have around 1-3 queens, 15-30 scouts, and 50-60 collectors. These small groups can join up and can create large groups of up to 500-600 total Purps. While this seems like a lot, they are an extremely weak species and has found itself as common food source. The make up for this is there extremely large numbers and ability to survive hostile environments. (think wandering ant cockroaches, if this is to much of a change just say).
>>2392913A nomadic hive species would be actually cool as shit
>>2392682>>2392683Everybody into the swamp.
>>2385092>>2392580The newly evolved Gleaks are set apart from there counterparts thanks to their gliding flaps, allowing them "fly" place to place above the swamp. When they are on the ground, they can camouflage into the mud, or swim around on the waters surface. The Gleaks are much more passive then there Lord counterparts, staying away from unfamiliar creatures and only attack if it thinks they can win.
>>2392561>>2383267 Flarnsaurs began to live all over LV-427, and as they spread they seprated into two different creatures. The Farcesaur is a small but very agressive omnivore that spends most of its life alone, only coming in groups to breed or hunt. They typically go for the eyes and tounge of prey to disorient them. The Flarnalsaur are very different creatures, prefering to hunt much smaller, easier prey. They travel in large "Pods" of up to 50 individuals across LV-427 to various bodies of water. They are always seen carrying a small supply of water on their "head" so as not to overheat
>>2369568The Super Venomous Purps are finding the chaotic nature of the surface to be hard to sustain life in, and are already beginning to dwindle in numbers due to the turbulent changes in the very atmosphere itself.Long vestigial water lungs within The Purps find use once more as they activate through the emergence of a breathing slit that filters water into the once shelled off organ. The Diving Crab has become a shallow water creature.
>>2392225The Swamp Pumbahoffe evolves a more splayed foot for better balance and to better distribute its weight on the soft marshes it calls home. The frill on its back grows thick and bumpy deterring predators and providing it with a rudimentary armor. Its new nose shape is split into its sexual organs and its nasal passages so females can breath when laying her eggs so she doesn't suffocate. She lays them in the soft soil near the lake shore. Females will guard the clutch until they hatch, afterwards the hatch-lings will stay with her until adolescence.
>>2392561Crawlers >>2369540 have been forced to migrate to the multiple sea-mat islands along the coasts. This has caused them to evolve a longer set of legs, as well as a pair of small manipulators to better handle webbing. They also use their nets in tandem with other Crawlers to fish for food, allowing them to stay far out of a predators reach in the oil-fruit palms. This limited space has forced them to evolve more complex social behavior, such as grooming and a extremely basic physical language involving tapping their small manipulators either on their webs or against another individual's manipulators.Basic Lexicon meaning:- = tap/ = rub 1 manipulator // = rub both manipulators
>>2394153how does it keep rain and water out of its nose
>>2391412During the events of the Eruption, the Nolor Forests sustained tremendous damage, though the Ash Nolor managed to escape and scatter into all directions, thanks to it's spore-bark.Though most died, some have found their way onto the beaches of Solitudinus, where they grew thinner and longer roots in order to cope with the poor soil in the Desert. Thus comes about, the Desert Nolor.
>>2391462Being far away from the disaster that struck the rest of their species, the coastal Ash Nolor sustained far less population damage. However they still found themselves unable to maintain their habitat. In a twist of fate, this has enabled them to spread further than ever before. They found themselves around the great lakes of Infecturran, where their bark became softer and able to absorb more water, enabling it to forcibly shed force-bark after reaching maturity.
>>2391462Being far away from the disaster that struck the rest of their species, the coastal Ash Nolor sustained far less population damage. However they still found themselves unable to maintain their habitat. In a twist of fate, this has enabled them to spread further than ever before.Storms caused by the clash of scorching hot air, meeting the cooling winds of the ocean and arctic, have carried the Ash Nolor as far as even Mortem Regio, where their wood grew thicker and more insulating in response to the harsh cold of the Taiga. Thus the Dark Nolor was born.
>>2394668forcibly shed spore-bark*also these changed ash nolor are now called Lake Nolor, forgot to mention that.
>>2391669>>2391689Some Gas Nolor have begun growing in areas with lower metal concentrations in the soil, resulting in the loss of their protective coating, exposing the soft body beneath. This has however allowed them to respirate with their entire body, improving heat dissipation and oxygen absorption. As they could no longer withstand wildfires, they have developed a new method of spreading: "seeds" dispersed in their gas, which turn into Nolor once the gas dissipates and no longer prevents the "seeds" from touching the ground. As this mutation originated in Infecturran, the most Nolor of this kind live here, but they also live on all other parts of the central continent.
>>2391734The Rimpy has lost it's skull and most of it's brain in order to reduce energy usage. To that end, it also became much spindlier, losing much of it's body mass.As it has lost most of the acoustic properties given by it's skull, it's war cry has turned into a pathetic hum.

Once a Purp is extracted, the Pumbahoffe will place it's extraction tool into it's mouth and suck on it, causing the protuberance to eject a large amount of fluid, washing away the Purp into the Pumbahoffe's stomach. In times when normal food is scarce, this mutation has helped the Pumbahoffe to survive.
>>2355963The Floating Pygmy gains sacs capable of storing much larger amounts of gas, it utilizes its new environment to produce a very light gas out of talcynowhips allowing it to float. Once afloat it uses its tail nubs which are connected to the sac system to emit air in order to steer itself. Is not capable of floating for extended periods of time, but its enough to fly out of trouble or ambush prey from above.
>>2392561Shore Scruff >>2370487 have spouted to the far colder cost of Mortem-Regio, relying more than ever on their twisting growth to keep them from freezing over. They have also slightly changed color to better pick up available lightAs an unfortunate result of the constant cold, the species has shrunk, and now creates thick cotton-like spores of seeds in hopes of them surviving long enough to root.

They are also building barriers at the edges on their leafmat islands too stop predators from entering their islands. They are also starting too store building materials in their storehouses too be used later or as an emergency food source. there pulps are called builder leafpulps.
>>2395261for now no, its hard to make different events for different season when we are creating 'checkpoints' every few million years.i don't want to say no permanently though, just for now don't think about it,maybe during civ
>>2392096The Ploonk Migration to the islands of Terrapetram has caused this creature to evolve stronger feet to keep from being swept away by hurricane force winds and tropical storms, in addition the "fingers" at the ends of its "hands" have split to allow them to pick apart cynomorph caps into small enough pieces for it to eat.
>>2394673The harsh storms of Mortem Regio have killed off quite a number of Dark Nolors rather quickly. The survivors have grown strong anchoring roots in the shape of long and thick hooks. With this, they no longer fall over and as a side-effect manage to gain more nutrients from the soil, causing a growth spurt. This leaves the Dark Nolor at almost 3.9 meters in size.
>>2395573with these massive Nolor, quickly growing in both size and numbers, many plants, including the Nolor themselves are left deprived of nutrients. As the Dark Nolor increases to an even greater size of now 4.3 meters, some of them have fallen short in size. These crippled Nolor, only standing at barely 1.7 meters have developed root-like hooks on their branches, that grow into other nearby, taller Nolors to gain the nutrients they lack.the Sapper Nolor is born.
>>2393871The Diving Crab developed a cycled lung system that breaths in water through its slit, and exhales it through the same mouth it feeds with. This adaptation has allowed them to cycle oxygen faster through their system, causing them to grow slightly as a result.
>>2395573In response to the Sapper Nolor, the Dark Nolor grows massively to survive it's competitor.the Dark Nolor not only grows yet again from 4.3 meters to nearly 7 meters in merely 3 generations, but also a bark twice as thick.Standing at an impressive 685 x 82 cm.Not only does this further deprive any competition of nutrients, but also makes it too thick to pierce for most Sapper's hooks.
>>2395599The Sappers that managed to persist, grew alongside the Dark Nolor, their hooked branches, having grown into gargantuan hooks, jamming themselves into the Dark Nolor, no matter how thick it is.These Bladed Nolor stand at a comfortable 3.2 meters in size, with the potential to grow larger, though they themselves fall victim to the Sapper, preventing their domination.
>>2395661A sub-division of Dark Nolor has emerged, with 3 major roots instead of 4, making the growth of the plant itself less nutrient intensive, allowing for more of them to be around. The downside to this, is that they occasionally fall risk of getting uprooted by especially strong storms.
>>2394926While it can be beneficial in times of scarcity, ultimately males who used their genitals to probe purp hives end up with "surprise circumcisions" rendering them unable to mate, those that remained intact evolved a retractable probe that only extends during mating season. Rather than give up on their purp prey, they developed a rooting behavior, upturning purp hives with their shovel like nose. The females evolve shorter tusks and a darker coloration scheme.
>>2392561>>2358427 Many of the boneheads that spread across LV-427 have experienced several changes to make them more suited to their various environments. The first being their overall lanky nature that allows them to travel farther without needing to eat or rest, along with their new breathing holes keeping air in the lungs during extended sprinting periods. The second is a more complex stomach, that allows for partial fermentation to keep warm and also to get more nutrients out of limited food. Though hunting is much easier with their larger smelling organ, being able to detect prey/forage up to 2km away.

While the "Hobbling" behavior allows for more food transport, at the expense of forcing said transporter to rest for a while in the hive before being able to move again. The buccaneer has also developed better eyesight that the drunkpurps use too spot other islands that they can rain this together with their increased intelligence has caused these islands too start manipulating their course corrector leafs in order to travel too potential targets faster. A number of these Drunkpurp hives are also starting to bind their island together with smaller islands too be used to collect additional food and housingAn additional development is that the drunkpurps have developed bigger and more precise smelling and a pair of emitters that is used to send different chemicals. These chemicals are used to communicate. Each chemical responding to a “Word” Building a Language with 40 Words but 2 of these Chemicals do not currently correspond to any “Word2. These are not precise enough to communicate in open places or having many “conversations" at the same place.
Ok going to do something that needs to be done for the prowlers, generations of combat among male prowlers has led to sexual dimorphism as females have not needed to compete the same way males have, instead females have evolved to have wide enough hips to give live birth with low levels of maternal deaths. they have also evolved to have an entire separate organ for the birthing of children. sexual organs were never drawn on them so im finally correcting that both male and female prowlers also have developed more visible genital protective folds aswell, when these folds open up the genitalia of the creatures is exposed with the folds acting as a natural pair of underwear that prevent the genitalia from being in vulnerable positions. the direction of the folds as well as the shapes of the heads and general sizes is how prowlers differentiate between each gender for the most part what was just said above is not meant to be a change but more of a visual image of what has been sort of already established, what follows is the actual change a separate species of prowlers, the Pursuer's have developed with their key difference being a second foot/toe, this has greatly increased their mobility, stability and decreased the risk of them breaking their ankles during pursuit of prey. this new pack of prowlers has moved to the right side of MortemRegio taking with them >>2401891 , >>2401887 , >>2399000 and >>2398999. while on the eastern side of the continent the prowlers begin using pieces of >>2395139 to make warm soft nests, although the pursuers do not struggle with food supply despite their large numbers they still pursue in packs the slower prowler variants on the island that come to close to their nest, this is done as a sport rather than to eat.

>>2401194Due to an abundance of food and lack of natural predators, the Ploonks have grown in size and the species has split into two variants.-The Lankey Ploonk has adapted its thinner limbs and longer body for greater mobility, it uses these traits to gather food more efficiently. Not being able to eat all the food it gathers, it sometimes buries what it has gathered in small holes near its nest. In cases where it forgets the fruits and seeds grow into their respective plants which the Lankey Ploonk harvests when the new plant bares fruit. The other variant is known as the stubby ploonk. Its shorter squatter body makes it more resilient to weather phenomenon and changing temperatures. Its larger eyes and beak like mouth allow it to emote and communicate more effectively with other Ploonks of both varieties. Sharing information to the locations of food and shelter.
