You used to be the third woman to carry the mantle of the magical guardian of love and justice known as Sailor Moon, after your mother and older sister. A year and a half ago you had a traumatic experience fighting the corpse of the father of your best friend, struggled victory leaving you thinking you had killed the man you had set out to save and prompting you to abandon your heritage. More than that, the relating emotional collapse lead you to abandoning yourself. Developing disguises and personas to inhabit and do the things you could not in secret, to live while you let yourself wither, you carried on.Now you know the truth and have been taking measures to put yourself back together, reconnect with old friends, and make new ones. More than that you’ve been doing your best to support your younger sister, Koyomi, as she has become the fourth to carry the title as Sailor New Moon.Quest StartYour time wading in the cavern spring beneath the Zodiac Academy for Girls was, for a time, quiet. In that silence, broken by the occasional babble and gentle splash of luminous waters, two feigned delinquents watched you in the guise of a white clad prince whilst you performed literal magic. Here you hold submerged in these waters the uniform you crafted for your friend, Saori Umeki. It, and the similar vessel you crafted for your friend Sasha, are vessels of protection for the all to vulnerable whom you have invited into your inner circle. And to grant them some edge of magic. After a long while, one of your spectators speaks up.“Come on, Nji, we should get back to decorating,” offers the taller girl, named Akane but called Ringo by her friends. You found the two of them here, apparently intent upon turning this place into a secret clubhouse on or rather below their current school campus now that the Paranormal Incident Task Force has moved on.“Yeah, sure. Just,” Nijiko, called simply Niji by her friends, replies and squats down where she stands by the water’s edge, resting her arms on her knees, “I just want to watch this a bit longer,”Eventually, the two resume their business within the confines of the cavern. Occasionally glancing at you and your work beneath the mask and the waters of this place of convergent magic within the earth. The light from beneath the water are bands of magic which you are guiding through and binding to the fabric. When you did this at the purification tree, the effects were far more subtle.
>>2373187It’s to be expected, you imagine. This in particular is a place of obvious power.Your task, and the garment, are eventually complete. The small boxes upon the drier areas of this space are emptied, and in the fading light of the spring this hole in the earth looks almost comfortable.Bidding the girls a pleasant evening, you disembark from the campus of the Zodiac Academy for Girls and find some means of normalcy or stealth in returning home for the evening. In working on these magical clothes, you had in part been taking up a request from Midori to not run around so frantically to the point of near exhaustion. And here you are, coming home at a reasonable hour on a Sunday night without being exhausted or injured or emotionally drained. From home, through the miracles of technology, you have some time to either yourself or to put toward making sure things are in order.>Unwind, actually try to unwind and relax alone for a bit>Check in on your sister, see if she wants to hang out or something>Get in touch with Sasha and Saori, see how things went at the Big Egg complex today, and let them know you have something for both of them>Get in touch with Keiko and Midori, they might be on overlap right now, see how the stake out is going>It’s not so late, just after dinner, it’s not out of the ordinary to maybe call someone to talk, like perhaps Yoshi.>Get on the group chat and get the news for ongoing Fashion Circle shenanigans, especially now that Hanako isn’t possessed and going crazy>Write in

Alright, Imouto times.
“I’m home,” you announce, slipping out of your shoes and setting the bag containing two neatly folded parcels of ensorcelled clothes into the closet by the door. You are greeted evenly as you see the small red eyed child, Kalyke, sleeping peacefully with her head on your father’s shoulder as he sits on the couch, with an open manilla folder in his hand and an open briefcase on the coffee table next to a sleeping Luna.“Welcome home, productive day?” your father questions, sparing a glance up from whatever he is reviewing before closing the folder and setting it down.“I think so,” you smile sharply and cross the room toward the stairs, ruffling the toddler’s sleepy hair as you pass, “is Koyomi home?”“Upstairs,” your father shrugs and braces the child with both arms as he stands before offering her to you, “Would you mind putter her down on the way?”“Sure,” you shrug and carefully take the child as you ascend the stairs. After setting Kalyke down in the old crib, you spin toward your younger sister’s door and find it open. Koyomi is kneeling on her bed, facing the window, with her phone nigh cradled against her cheek.“Nu-uh!” your younger sister exclaims and shakes her head, sending her blonde twin tails of hair fluttering behind her.“Hey,” you call out to let her know you’re there and her conversation, whatever it may be, is no longer private.Your sister pauses, turns to see you in the door, and then back down at her phone.“I’ll call you back later,” she offers quickly before ending the call and greeting you cheerfully, “Hey Mikage-nee, what’s up?”Across from her, you sort of shrug.“Just saying hi, wanted to know if you wanted to hang out or anything,” you explain.“So, there’s no emergency?” she questions, “Magical or otherwise?”
>>2373872“Not that I know of right now...but there’s always tomorrow,” you sigh, “Midori has been wanting me to take it easy, so everyone on my end has divvied up all the run around work I tend to lose myself in...so I have the night to relax. Are you free to hangout or do you have plans?”Your younger sister kicks her legs out from where they rest under her, now sitting on her bed rather than kneeling. Crossing her arms and closing her eyes in thought, she seems to consider your query and offer before snapping her fingers and pointing at you with decided mock aggression.“Mikage-nee, tonight we resume the contest you left behind years ago,” she declares sharply but with the broadest smile, “Boardgames!”“Sounds like a plan,” you nod firmly as your sister dives for her closet and begins pushing small boxes of art supplies out of the way and digging up a few familiar and dinged up boxes you haven’t seen in quite a while. As your sister lists what she has available, the two of you wind up settling on a few games of battleship. Sorry for the writing delay...can't seem to find a long misplaced character name.
As your younger sister hurriedly sets up the two folding boards of the game on the floor, double checking the volume of each set of pieces, a thought strikes you. The two of you are both possessed of psychic abilities similar to those of your father...why not use this game to help push Koyomi’s more recent awakening of those abilities?“Say, let’s make this game a bit more interesting,” you offer your younger sister a devious smile while laying out the pieces of assorted nautical cruisers on your board’s grid.Your sister peaks up from behind the screen of her board, laying low on her stomach while you’re merely sitting.“How so?” she questions, dubious of your intentions.“Well, we use it to test powers,” you explain and hold up your carrier, “Namely, the psychic potential we woke up inside you that morning on the bench. Let’s see how clearly we can see the others board, take a bit of the guesswork out of the game and speed things up,”She considers your offer for a moment before agreeing with a smile.“You’re on,” she exclaims, but deflates a little, “That kills the tension though,”“We’ll end on a fair round,” you offer, “Just a few like this beforehand to gauge where we both are,”“Deal!” she extends her hand, the two of your shake on it and begin your game.Numbers and letters come quickly from both of you, after a few seconds concentrating each turn...well each of your sisters turns. She lags a bit behind you, but clearly has your board in view after the first two misses. You haven’t missed since turn one. The correct targets are painted to you in an illusory map.“B5,” you state and then wonder, there is a lot going on with Koyomi outside of the usual magical saga that is your family and immediate friends, “How’s school, anything going on with your friends who aren’t involved in all of this?”“Hit,” she replies in a grouse, frustration as she imagines you saw her board faster than she was able to see your own, “It’s going okay, I’m missing art club more often than not, but I’m still able to hang out there when I can. Also, my teachers haven’t been on my back as much lately so that’s good. C3,”
>>2375068“Hit,” you nod, “Actually being focused in class does tend to get teachers to back off the pressure,”“Yeah, well. Lui-Sensei seemed really smug about my change in behavior before,” she huffs, “but actually trying in class is so draining...luckily I’ve got a secret weapon to keep my energy up. A5,”“Hit, sunk,” you explain, she took out one of your smaller ships but at this point you’re well ahead of her, “And that secret weapon is?”“Koito has been bringing me espresso truffles,” she smiles, “His own recipe. They’re so creamy...though can I talk to you about something. Something else,”“Shoot,” you offer, while fidgeting a red hitmarker between your fingers.“I think some people are bullying Kanari-chan and Koito-chan,” she offers in a serious sigh, “And I don’t know what to do,”“What happened?” you have experience being bullied, and know how to take the best kinds of revenge. You pause in the back and forth of the game a bit as Koyomi explains what’s been going on. Apparently some girls in the basketball club with Kanari Kino have it out for her and Koito for their father being a Brazilian Sansei. She admits that’s what she was talking to a classmate about before you arrived. That word was slipping around the grapevine that the ringleader of this dislike was prepping for a particularly harsh prank. “How are Kanari and Koito handling it?” you ask with certain reticence, being no stranger to being on the receiving end of similar behavior even if you did just shrug it off.Koyomi pouts before offering a sigh. As she orders her thoughts she curls her knees up under herself and to her chest, shifting from being splayed out on the floor of her room to sitting.“Koito doesn’t deal with it as much anymore, he used to always seemed to take it in stride. There was a kid a few years ago who wouldn’t leave him alone about it enough to end up in a fight,” she explains, “After that he and the kid got along, but that’s just because they’re boys,”“Yeah,” you nod, “And Kanari?”Koyomi shakes her head.“Getting violent won’t work, and she knows it. This girl, Kujo-san, she doesn’t seem to let up. And I know she’s upped her focus on Kanari since Koito and I started dating,” Koyomi seems uncomfortable with this.Kujo-san? No one you know, but a name is enough to find something out later if you’re so inclined. There’s a sense of helplessness coming from your little sister you aren’t accustomed to seeing from her.“Kanari just grits her teeth and rolls with it, tries to shut it out and grit her teeth. She won’t be surprised about this,” she explains, “and I want to do something other than telling her...but I don’t think she wants the help. Mulling over this matter in your mind, you know exactly what you’d do. You’ve done it before, though without any thought to what you or anyone else thought. Then again, in explicitly private matters…you set the red hitmarker back into the tray of your board. You’re ultimately of two minds about this.“It doesn't matter if she won’t forgive you,” you begin strongly, “you protect her like you know she’d protect you. Without a second thought,”Then you pause, you have the second thought you would not likely take in the moment.“At least, that’s me in the heat of things. Since having friends again I’ve gone around their wishes a few times, and they went around mine in turn. None of us were very happy with that,” you reason.“Yeah, I heard about some of that,” she offers, “And, I guess I wanted to know how you’d handle it,”“Head on and with no regrets in the moment,” you nod firmly, “Then again, you clearly want to do something,”She sits there a moment, wringing her pigtails before releasing her grip and nodding firmly.“Yeah, and I think I’ve made up my mind on what to do,” she reasons, “Thanks Mikage-nee,”“Anytime...now, where we? As you sit on your bed...you feel a bit restless. More than that, you feel a bit under informed on this issue, and how it affects both of the Kino twins. Both of them friends, one a Sailor Senshi and the other among your own Knights.Mulling over a weak justification regarding the responsibilities toward one’s vassal, you slip downstairs, grab your shoes and a light jacket, and shoot out into the night.Shooting a text to Koito to find out what’s going on, and where he currently is, you find that your Zoisite Knight is currently on the way home from the stake out park. He had been providing a nap break for the current shift, along with a thermos of freshly brewed coffee and snacks. Crossing town quickly and quietly in the night, as you have become rather adept at doing, you meet up with him as he walks down the stairs of the neighborhood transit stop.“Evening, Chiba-san,” the younger boy offers calmly as, stopping in front of you beneath the beam of a street light, “What did you want to talk about?”“I heard something from Koyomi tonight,” you begin, “actually, she wanted my advice...and it made me want to check in on you, maybe ask a few questions,”The brunette haired boy’s posture stiffens slightly.“Well, I...that is to say,” his normal demeanor cracks, at least in his voice as he glances askance and blushes a bit,”Wait, what does he think you wanted to talk about?>He thinks this is about...him and Koyomi?! >>2384972>Belay his fears, this is about the flak he and Kanari get at school. And how both of you are dealing with it.A weak justification is the responsibilities toward one’s vassal.A real justification is concern for a friend.
Aw, looks like I would have been outvoted on the teasing.
As amusing as it would be to tease your little sister’s boyfriend, he is also your friend. A friend who you’re worried about.A reason, more than an excuse, concern for a friend. You laugh to yourself a moment, because it would be so amusing. There is not escaping the impish impulses that have been brought back into you by healing long held schisms, but that’s all they are sometimes. Sighing and steeling yourself for something serious, you engage with your younger friend.“No, Koito, it's not about you and Koyomi,” you offer to belay his sudden fears, “Unless there is something for me to be concerned about?”“No, nothing of the sort,” he offers, composing himself.“Good,” you nod sharply and with a playfully certain before taking on a softer concern, “She told me about what Kanari has been dealing with at school recently. And what you’ve had to deal with before,”You let it hang there a moment. A pause to let it sink in, or to properly leave him time to understand your implication before you continue. His expression, a mix of embarrassed upset, says that he does.“How is she dealing with it?” you ask with a soft voice, “Koyomi gave the impression that you were alright, but I also wanted to hear how you were doing,”Koito sighs, and walks past you a bit. At first you think he’s brushing you off and continuing home, but he turns and leans against the street light. His back sliding down as she crouches to sit on the broader base.“I’m...I’m fine. I’ve been fine,” he explains evenly, “I know how to deal with those feelings and anyone who causes them. She doesn’t have the same options I did, and doesn’t like talking about it after the fact,”“She wears it on her sleeve though?” you reason, having known Kanari for year.“She wears a lot of things on her sleeve,” he shrugs, “Like her pride on having early acceptance for high school. Trying harder and having pride is how she deals...but a few girls in the basketball club haven’t let up on her, and she can only try to ignore them,”“She really laid into me a little while back, when she was mad I quit being Sailor Moon,” you nod, “With no fear, why is she holding back with this girls?”“Because that makes them win. Gives them more ammunition. And…,” he pauses and nods, “As mad as she thinks she was at you, I think she was crying out for help the best way she knew how. As a challenge to someone who could take it,”
>>2385242You nod. Just another facet in the lives of messed up teenagers. It isn’t a monster. It isn’t some cosmic calamity. Its normal. Small, but the whole world from eye level. Its something human.“And frankly, I think everything she’s been doing with Koyomi and the girls,” he reasons and looks up at the sky, “It's been good for her. An outlet that isn’t hitting the heavy bag until…”Koito pauses. He weighs something in his mind that he isn’t sure he can say, but spares you a long and trusting glance before finding some measure of resolve.“Until she thinks no one can hear her cry over her tempo,” he sets his jaw but nods firmly, “She bottles it, stores it. She doesn’t like letting anybody in about it, not even me. If Koyomi’s has it in her head to do something...I hope it doesn’t wound Kanari’s pride,”Kneeling down beside your friend, your knight, you set a hand on his shoulder before pulling him up into a hug.”You know what happens when Koyomi gets an idea in her head. Believe in her,”“I do,” he offers softly as the two of you part, “You know I do, although,”“Hmm?”“What are you going to do?” he questions.“I don’t quite know yet,” you offer, innocently.“Well, whatever is about to happen, mom always says too many cooks spoil the broth,” he squares his shoulders, not necessarily trying to look cool despite using a dated metaphor, but probably.Offering a nod and a good night, the two of you go your separate ways. There is much to consider in the next day, a school day at that.So you sleep, deeply but with a decidedly heavy heart. And after your morning routine of action, of a light run and a shower you find yourself…>In homeroom early, knowing that this is their challenge and that it’s best not to intrude>Waiting by the gate to the middle school to see if you can talk to Kanari this morning, discreetly>Cutting class using your magical stealth powers to more directly monitor, spy on, the situation Koyomi and Kanari find themselves in.>Searching for the girl Koyomi named, because pride or no there is a toll to be paid>Write in

Writing. Final update for the night.
It’s early, and your own school gate is across the street of a road that ends against the shared athletic fields between the highschool and the middle school. As you drift there this morning, you lean against the wall you helped Koyomi leap not even a few days ago. There is something calming to watch people drift past for a bit. Familiar and unfamiliar. Your own classmates, people from other classes, underclassmen, upperclassmen, and the students of the middle school. As you wait, you’d rather not get too involved in anything. Slipping into the subtle power of your disguise field, you allow yourself to become a cipher to those who pass, becoming unnoticed in plain sight. At least, you hold this power until you hear the approaching buzz of the vespa.Kanari rounds the corner down the center of the street towards the two schools. Slowing down at approach to the morning crowd of students before dismounting and walking her bike to the gate.Dropping the field, you meet her halfway to the gate from where she stopped riding.“Morning,” you greet her with a wave as she pauses at your approach, and then stores her helmet in a compartment underneath the seat of her conveyance.“Morning,” she replies, uncertain, before questioning “Where you waiting for me?”“Yes,” you nod sharply, “I was. Do you have a few minutes to talk?”Kanari, unless other errands consume her time or specific arrangements are made with Koyomi, is usually early for school to your knowledge. That in mind, Koyomi is still probably a ways behind. When you were leaving earlier she was just lurching her way downstairs.“Yeah, sure,” she nods.“Somewhere a bit less open,” you explain and she nods as her eyes widen a bit, thinking this might be something sensitive to the ongoing secrets in your lives. As she locks her bike outside the main door, she leads you over to an alcove on the side of the building, looking up you imagine that you are near the place you caught Estra’s siblings playing children’s card games.“What’s up?” she questions once the two of you are alone, quick to business and perhaps eager for an excuse to action.“Koyomi and I were talking last night,” you open carefully, aware you could be walking into a mine field, “And she was worried about you. About some of the things you’re going through. So, I’m just here to see if you’re okay or if there’s anything you wanted to talk about,”The brunette girl before you closes off her body language almost immediately.
>>2385560“She asked you to talk to me?” she asks, but with an accusatory tone.“No,” you offer, “She asked me what she should do. If she should do something,”You muse a moment on what Koyomi had said. She was going to tell Kanari about what she had learned in rumor first thing...the specifics of which are still lost to you. Still, her posture loses some of it’s edge at your admission and relaxes a bit.“You didn’t tell her to show up dressed as a yankee and start smacking people?” she laughs at the thought of your sister trying to imitate one of the ways you dealt with tragedy, which honestly garners a laugh from you as well, “because that might just confuse the people I’ve been having trouble with enough to get them to lay off for a while,”“No, nothing so specific,” you let your tone grow a bit more serious, “I just told her to protect you without a second thought the same way you’d protect her,”She nods at that, but shakes her head.“That’s nice and all, but I don’t need protection right now,” she huffs and crosses her arms, “It’s just schoolyard stuff and it’ll pass. You didn’t need to go so far to come and check on me,”“Hey, I thought you wanted me to get back out there and stand with all of you out in the open,” you chide her to what you can remember from her once attempt at scolding you whilst you lay in the hospital, “Well, this is what you get. Me caring and probably sticking my nose into other peoples business,”Kanari rolls her eyes and curses something in Portuguese. Perhaps more at her own rising embarrassment than any upset or anger.“Whatever,” she mumbles, “I appreciate it,”Victory.“And at least right now, I don’t want to talk about it,” she explains, “but later,”“That’s fine. Whenever you’re ready,” you offer, “or if you just wanted to hang out and do anything to take your mind off of anything that would be fine too,”She nods at that. You feel you’ve really reconnected with Kanari on something outside of Senshi related matters while also offering her a hand up from a kind of angry pit you’re familiar with. Your basking in this moment is broken, as is Kanari’s attention, by the nearby and hurried voice of your younger sister calling out for Kanari both in given name and a handful of familiar nicknames.Eclipsed Moon Quest Episode 154End
