Stage 184: The Beginning, the Balance, and Death. You wake in soft warmth, to bright light and the scent of jasmine and sandalwood, one being tea, the other incense. You blink at the slatted wood ceiling, the pale varnish giving it the warm glow of a well loved home. The porcelain head rest is hard and cool along the back of your neck, and not uncomfortable. A soft slurp tells you that you aren't alone, and you would take a slow, deep breath, but you're not breathing.Crap.You sit up and turn to look at the handsome, dark robed King of Hell, who has his eyes closed as he sips his tea only slightly less noisily. It smells wonderful, but you suspect that it's only an affectation. You're dead, so how can you eat or drink anything?“Offerings, of course. Any offerings made are yours to consume while you wait. Excuse me for having invited myself in, but I thought I might inform you of the rules that are part of your stay here.” He sets his teacup down with both hands, opening his crimson eyes and looking at you seriously.“First, you will not be able to venture outside your compound unless a demon escorts you from this place. Second, you will be unable to indulge in any sort of conflict while you are in the compound, regardless of circumstances. Outside of it is another matter entirely. Third, you will not be able to bring up a Barrier here, but you will be able to use your techniques outside the compound. Finally, and fourth, you will have full access to your powers and skills while you are here, at all times, since this is not the Floating World.” Enma-Oh pours tea for you, and you blink at him slowly, wondering how much give in these rules there are.
>>2334298“There is none,” he answers, prompting you to tilt your head and look at him funny. “I've been doing this a while, so the first few questions are pretty predictable. As stated, there is no give or flexibility. These are the facts of the matter, the state of reality. It will remain that way until I decree otherwise.” He picks up his tea, and cradles it in one hand. “I will answer four questions, and four questions only. Then I must attend to my other duties. And before you ask, until you are alive again, before which you must stand before the Judge and be given permission to return to the Floating World of the Middle Kingdoms. Well, the ones in Japan, anyways.”….Kamidamnit.“Incidentally,” he adds, looking at you with a smile, “most people try to maintain the ideal of working themselves to death as a kind of conceptual ideal, not a literal fact, Ryuu Ryukusa. I am surprised you weren't here sooner, so you did an exceptional job, apparently.” How much time will pass while I'm....here? What if someone enters my compound? So....this means I'm definitely dead, for the moment. Will I return to life for certain? This happens to every immortal, right? Is there any way to speed up the process? Why would you need a demon to take me outside the compound, out of curiosity? Are there any weapons or tools of mine here for me to use if I do leave the compound? How often does an immortal get buried or cremated while in this state? What happens if I try to leave anyways?

[X] So....this means I'm definitely dead, for the moment. Will I return to life for certain?[X] How much time will pass while I'm....here?[X] What If someone enters my compound?[+] Can I communicate with anyone still living while I'm here, say, my priestess or a sorceress?[+] Any recommendations on things to keep myself busy while I'm here? You blink a few times and then turn over the coverlets, noticing you are dressed in a simple white kimono, with a white belt, and a white under-kimono. And weirdly, a fundoshi as well as a somewhat tight bandeau bra, twisted at the back and tied and folded fundoshi style. You have feet though, so you're not a ghost, which is good.Switching to a kneeling position, you half-crawl and half-scoot to the table, while Enma-Oh politely does not watch. You pick up the tea he poured for you. Four pours, of course, because, well, dead. It is exquisite jasmine tea and you inhale slowly, that being a requirement for catching the scent of the tea and speaking, if not necessarily staying alive.“I am definitely dead.” you comment mildly, and he smiles, choosing not to answer the implied question. You didn't expect him to, really, but you had some hope. You manage to speak a lot more calmly than you might prefer, but this is your second time being treated to the presence of Enma-Oh, King of the Underworld, Lord of Hell, His Most Loathsome Majesty, and he's being a perfect gentleman about it. “I'm definitely going to come back to life though?”He looks at you mildly. “Absolutely, as long as no one decapitates you, destroys your heart completely, or burns your corpse, or dissolves you entirely in acid, or similarly completely annihilates your corpse. The beheading or heart removal is separate, and tied to your nature of immortality.” You frown at him rather mildly and he grins. “I pride myself on my truthfulness, regardless of how others see it.”“Well, I do appreciate your candor, then,” you reply, mollified by his reasoning somewhat. Even if it opens you up to new possibilities of permanent death you hadn't been aware of before.“If you were unable to revivify, you would be in Yomi, rather than here,” the King of Hell points out. “So there is that to consider.”“I hadn't thought of that, actually,” you admit. “How much time passes while I'm here? In the....in Japan?” He seemed to separate Japan from China for some reason, so you take the safer route.
>>2334564“That is a little more difficult to answer,” he says, somewhat cautiously. “Time does pass, but it is unrelated to the passage of what you might think of as time here. It is rarely more than a week, but sometimes it isn't any time at all. I'd be more clear if I could, Ryuu Ryukusa, but honestly, you're asking me to define a metaphysical situation in terms of the physical world, and it doesn't really compute. This isn't like the Heavens and Hells you're used to.” Sipping his tea, he considers and then nods. “I can tell you that the passage of time here is related more to the meaningfulness of what you are faced with.”….He's not going to clarify that, it's pretty obvious, but you have pressing questions that might be more critical. Perhaps you could try and learn more about that and ask something important? Not a two-for, but an if-then. You sip your tea, and it is delicious and an idea comes to you. “What if someone does enter my compound, that isn't a demon?” You don't try to couch it as a passing thought or a subtle inquiry; he's made it obvious he won't fall for something like that.“Well, outside of physical violence, you can deal with them or it however you like,” her replies matter-of-factly. “It's not unheard of,” he adds, pouring you more tea.“Is there any way for me to communicate with my priestess, or my seers? I'd ask if it was anyone still living, but I have the feeling that's not quite right.” You idly wonder if Nabiki-onee-chan would be able to communicate with you like you were a corpse or ghost. He considers carefully. “There is some sorcery that might allow for it, but you can't do much more than accept offerings in this state from anyone who makes them. You'll receive prayers as well, and I can't tell you if they can help you recover any faster or better. You'll still receive them though.” Enma-Oh pauses thoughtfully. “You're not the first demigod I've encountered in this manner, but most of them were enlightened, which I'm afraid you're not. That somewhat limits the information I can impart, and makes some things impossible to tell you.”You nod slowly and look down. That's your four questions, but you can't help but add one more. “Do you have any recommendations on how I can pass the time while I'm here?” Suppressing a smile, you look at him over your teacup as you sip the delightful jasmine tea.
>>2334570Enma-Oh grins, setting his teacup down and rising to his feet. “I suggest you look at it like the enlightened ones do, and consider it a reprieve from a difficult existence, Ryuu Ryukusa.” She transforms, turning into the pretty little girl that you first met him as. “You can never tell how difficult life is going to be. While it may seem like a prison, it is a necessary part of the universe, and serves a purpose, as all the Ten Thousand Things do.”You rise, setting your teacup aside and bow deeply. She bows back. “Please be welcome to the Tenth Level of Hell, Ryuu Ryukusa. I hope your stay is pleasant.”“Please take care of me,” you reply, and she rises before turning, walking to the front door, slipping on her geta, then quietly sliding the door open before leaving. You don't hear her walk down the gravel of the path to the front gate though.….now you're not sure what the fuck to do. Explore the compound....thoroughly. Try reaching through the Void to any of your loved ones – or perhaps a specific one. Specify one. Set up a shrine to Amaterasu-Omikami, if there isn't one already. Finish your tea and go back to sleep for a short while. Assuming you can sleep. He mentioned you have access to your powers and techniques; perhaps test them and see how far that extends.

Well, I suppose meeting an incredibly attractive woman who hates her guts in an environment she can't escape would be a fitting Hell for Ryukusa.
>>2334651It would be an interesting meeting for sure.
[XX] Explore the compound....thoroughly.[X] He mentioned you have access to your powers and techniques; perhaps test them and see how far that extends.[+] Find out where the demons are. Because reasons.Well, you have a small mansion, a lovely garden, and a nice fenced in area, but you really haven't taken a good look at the place. So, in the spirit of knowing your personal territory, you take an unguided tour. The house is nice, simple in construction and yet very sturdy, two stories, with a practice room with places for every weapon you tend to carry at any given time, including places of honor for your personal kami. You notice that there is one place – a mannequin half-bust – for Matagama-no-Shitoki, which means while she is considered part of your 'arsenal', there probably isn't a shrine here, because that is where she usually is laid to rest and honored.Though that doesn't necessarily follow, it occurs to you, because she is placed in your shrine. It would be redundant to have a shrine to yourself placed here, and kind of obscene to make one yourself in your personal opinion, even if that's not entirely the case in the physical world. If you made a shrine to Amaterasu-Omikami or Rie-sama, that might be different.Downstairs the kitchen, a living area, a partitioned off sleeping area, and a cozy bathing room. Your notice the closet has a number of outfits much more to your style than the last time you were here (how nice of Enma=Oh to remember!) as well as a hamper. You didn't see a place for laundry to be done, nor any mirrors save for a single makeup mirror with a velvet cover. Most likely because as Er Yin mentioned, small demons can't handle their own reflections. You're not sure what to think about the laundry though.Outside there is the largish water feature – a pond that has koi and some turtles in it among the algae blooms and lotus leaves. A bamboo stand as well, along with a small Zen garden, complete with rocks. The soft clunking sound of a bamboo spill-pipe echoes faintly, and most of the large yards are grassy and well maintained. The blue sky and the clouds are not real of course, being painted or illusions laid along the walls of the positively gargantuan cavern. Finally, the gravel path leading from the house to the iron gate, currently closed.
>>2334641Let it serve as a reminder to use our tools instead of trying to hoard stuff?
>>2334793The path becomes part of a wide road, and there are other compounds similarly designed but with much different homes and houses, in a wide variety of architectural designs. From the rooftop – which you can fly up to, rather than needing to leap - you can, in two of the many compounds, see inhabitants: a pretty middle aged Chinese woman practicing tai chi chuan in her yard; and in another, an elderly man, bald but with thin beard and long mustache, shuffling mahjong tiles and setting them into various patterns which he then proceeds to take apart. The fencing is generally solid, save for the gates, and your compound abuts the wall of the cavern. That brings you to the other point of interest. You do seem to have access to those powers typically restrained by the physical world, and you quickly experiment, conjuring clouds, thunderheads, fogs, rains, and even a lightning bolt, accompanied by thunder. It does seem limited only to your own compound, however; from the reactions of the other two the effects and sound are quite easily seen and heard everywhere else. A short flight up tells you that the cavern is much larger than you thought, at least miles in height. If it where part of the physical world, you'd wonder how any of you could breathe, but you're all most likely dead and don't need to anyways. One (or many?) thing(s) that you do not see are demons. While you wouldn't expect ox-heads or horse-heads here, you at least expected some guards. Flying to the edge of your current home-away-from-home, you discover quite easily that there really isn't a need for them; you simply can't bring yourself to leave the confines of your compound. Landing, you can open the gate quite easily from either direction, and it does not seem to have a locking mechanism. You also cannot pass through it.At best you can reach out beyond the border that is delineated by the gateway, and your tail can extend that reach a few feet more, but for the most part you can't cross the fence lines. It isn't even a barrier, you just can't being yourself to do so.It's rather annoying, more so than anything else here. The pond is deep. Very deep; you can feel it extending at least several hundred feet. There's an underground water system that connects many other ponds in other compounds. You can't sense much further than a couple hundred of feet away, despite your ease with depth. Ocean dragon issues; you suspect a river dragon wouldn't have a problem with the distances outwards. But that leaves you done. Clean up the tea, wash the dishes, and meditate for a while. Training would probably be a good idea – you seem physical enough. That's an interesting question; where is Nowhere? Setting up that shrine – or at least a small one in the practice room – might be good. Sleeping is probably the best thing you can do; it keeps being interrupted.
>>2334798>[x] That's an interesting question; where is Nowhere?>[x] Clean up the tea, wash the dishes, and meditate for a while.Interesting pond. And place.>>2334788Are we sure Ryukusa isn't in Naya's harem though?Besides, only one is still short! That was the lesson you were supposed to learn from Noah's Ark I'm fairly sure.

>>2334886Presumably the aesthetic. There are koi and turtles, though.
[X] That's an interesting question; where is Nowhere?[X] Setting up that shrine – or at least a small one in the practice room – might be good.[X] Clean up the tea, wash the dishes, and meditate for a while.[X] Sleeping is probably the best thing you can do; it keeps being interrupted. With only a small amount of concern, you reach into Nowhere and discover that unlike your previous visit, you can in fact each that otherworldly space. Here there is none of the stickiness you were having issues with in the physical world, but by the same token, all that you can 'reach' are things you yourself have placed inside. Which is certainly not insignificant; you had to move a couple of wardrobes worth of clothing and a small armory once or twice, after all. That confirmed, you go back into the house and into the training room that takes up most of the upper floor. There's another washroom, but it's mostly a modern shower and toilet. No mirror here either, nor in the training room. There are some basic pieces of equipment: a training dummy, some ropes and chains, free weights, some pads, and the racks that have suspiciously just enough places to hang all the weapons you can conjure, sans those you've loaned to others. Matagama-no-Shitoki is in your shrine, and beyond your reach as well, but you shouldn't need her here either. You do place a goodly amount of basic weaponry along the wall, not nearly everything you have access to, but enough to make it your place more than not. A small shrine in the corner, dedicated as best you can to Amaterasu-Omikami, Rei-sama, and Izanagi, along with your father, is the best you can do. It might not be an official shrine, but it will do. You add Enma-Oh to it out of both respect and necessity; fiorst your in his kingdom, and second you don't want to have four gods that the shrine is dedicated to. Five is a much more appropriate number.Prayers said to the many kami and spirits you need to give obeisance to, thanks to your family and your friends and your warriors, and a few appreciative call outs to some of the spirits of the dead, you finish up and then wash up. Downstairs, to take care of the mornings (?) dishes and tea, and cleaning up.
>>2334985That takes a little bit, and you sigh, since half the effort was casually using your power to manage the tasks in much less time than ordinarily possibly in the physical world. Without a clock of any sort, you suddenly realize one of the most hellish aspects of this place: your own hyperactivity. Without any way to track time, and with no one to reign you in, you could easily drive yourself insane just doing projects of varying sorts. You do have a lot of painting you could do though; so many beautiful young women in so many lovely outfits and situations.Shaking off the urge, you do realize your 'body', dead though it may be, is tired. You must have burned through nearly all of your Shen, and that leaves your spirit drained as much as your physical body. So despite the time of day (you never did get the whole diurnal/nocturnal thing; as far as you are concerned you are awake when you are awake, and asleep when you are asleep) you wash up once more and settle into the futon, clean and peaceful, and once snuggled in, quite warm as well. But you are definitely missing other warm bodies around you.You waken to the soft rapping of very hard knuckles on the wooden frame of your front door. Persistent, and loud enough to sound throughout the house without being obnoxious. You doubt that it will be anything dangerous, but it is unexpected. On the other hand, you have offended a certain number of powerful demons, and maybe a Chinese goddess of some sort as well, so it wouldn't do to make assumptions. Go answer the door, of course. Slip outside through another door and go see who it is. Get up, tell them you're coming, put on tea, see how they react. Tell them no one is home and go back to sleep. Ask them to announce themselves on a breeze and see what they do.
>>2334992>[x] Get up, tell them you're coming, put on tea, see how they react.Eh, it's soft so I'm sure it's someone polite!

[X] Get up, tell them you're coming, put on tea, see how they react.[XX] Go answer the door, of course. You sit up, running a hand through your hair along the base of your horn, which is enough to pull it together and rinse it clean, not to mention untangle it, and speak into the air. You barely hear the words, but they are carried on the air to the person at your door. “A moment please, I will be right there.”It is dark out, to your surprise; you're curious how that works but you have a visitor. You fill the pot with boiling water and toss in some oolong tea to steep, and collect cups and dishes as you pass through the kitchen. Setting up the table quickly and efficiently – you feel much, much better, and your casual grace shows it – you end up in the living room area in less than thirty seconds. It's a short wall to the entryway and you slide the door back to be confronted by a grinning Yui, dressed in a pair of really tight shorts and her baggy wife-beater, bandages clean and dress. “Sorry, can't come in without permission, aniki,” she explains brightly. Invite her in! Hugs! Kissing the oni-chick! Drag her in then hugs and kisses! Ask her what in the Hells (using the correct term in every way this once) she's doing here!

>>2335224If there's no energy flow in the body, Jing can't quicken a child, anon. No energy flows through a dead body that doesn't run the dead body, making it useless for anything else.Chinese Undead immortals are a special and horrifying exception.
>>2335280So we couldn't use something that requires Jing?
>>2335317There's only a few things that require Jing, and they're all sex or sex related. Chi and Shen both power and maintain a dead body, unless you completely exhaust Shen somehow. Chi doesn't flow normally through one, it just persists.
>>2335122>[X] Drag her in then hugs and kisses!
[XXX] Ask her what in the Hells (using the correct term in every way this once) she's doing here![XX] Drag her in then hugs and kisses![X] Invite her in![X] Hugs![+] Possession Check Protocols & Commensurate Apologies Post Protocols. You blink in surprise and smile, but you're preparation to attack in case of an impostor short circuits; much like the air above the fence, it's not so much a prevention of violence as a lack of being able to initiate it. Still, that doesn't necessarily mean that something pretending to be Yui-niji-chan can't harm you; the king of Hell literally makes the rules here, so loopholes his people could exploit that you can't get around is perfectly in keeping with his nature.“Truly troubling timing to tell the truth,” you inform her.“Nonsense, no notification neatly negates nay-saying now!” she replies without hesitation or thinking about it, the rote memorization of the signs and countersigns proven once again effective. Her grin broadens into a smile as she replies. Yui's cheeks gain a touch of glowing pink to them.Taking her by the hand you half-drag the oni-child into the house even as you invite her in for tea, and you slide the door shut with your tail. She complies readily enough, looking startled as you spin her about and kiss her fiercely and hold her tight, her body practically burning hot against yours. She's a few inches taller than you so her embrace is higher up and as careful and warm as it has always been. The kiss is wonderful, Yui melting into your arms like a beautiful bronze caramel would in your mouth, which is something you add to The List. Licking caramel off those abs would be heavenly. It's definitely her – no one can fake that kind of love and affection as perfectly as the real Yui can deliver it, or take it.“How, and why are you in this Hell, Yui-niji-chan? I thought it was impossible for non-immortals to pass these places without special dispensations from the Enma-Oh himself!” You pull back, still holding her very tight, and she smiles shyly.
>>2335356“Actually you gave me that dispensation yourself, aniki,” she explains. “I'm your Herald, and therefore I can deliver messages for you – or to you. And no one can stop me,” she adds, a glint of steel in her glowing blue-green eyes. “So when Kiku-sama told her sister she could order me to deliver a message to you....” Yui takes a laptop out of Nowhere. “....I obey!” she claims brightly. You can't help the tears welling up in your eyes. Of all the things you expected while being dead, this wasn't one of them. Gently disengaging from you, Yui walks over to the table and sets the laptop down, powering it up. You pour her tea as she sits seiza next to you, and then yourself – stopping at three pours for each of you, rather than the four Enma-Oh chose to dispense. Blinking the tears back you settle next to Yui, who nearly finishes setting up the laptop. She does take the tea, and looks down, her smile fading. “Because I'm only a messenger, I can only stay long enough to reasonably deliver the message and for enough niceties to be polite, then I have to go back. If I overstay they can try to punish me, but I think Enma-Oh wouldn't mind me having a cup of tea....” As long as you don't get in trouble, that all right, my Herald. ….did he happen to say what the tea had to be imbibed from? I'll have to evaluate your services, you know, being your daimyo and all.... I'd rather not push our luck; it's amazing you are allowed here in any case! Please tell me nothing bad is happening – you aren't acting like it, but it's....stressful not to know, you know?

[XXX] Please tell me nothing bad is happening – you aren't acting like it, but it's....stressful not to know, you know?[XX] As long as you don't get in trouble, that all right, my Herald.[X] ….did he happen to say what the tea had to be imbibed from?[+] A response might take some time to write....With a smile, you leans close, and lower your teacup towards her belly. “So....did he happen to say how the niceties had to be shared?” Yui looks down, confusion making her expression blank, until you move the teacup in a circle over her lap, drawing her eyes to the place you circled. The glow of embarrassment is immediate and total as she realizes where you would like to drink your share from. “Aniki!” she exclaims, pushing you back firmly, though not very hard at all.Saving the tea easily – what with your control over water being even better here than on the physical plane – you laugh softly and she holds both hands over the crux of her cut-off jeans, her nipples still perfectly visible through wrapping and loose shirt alike. “All right, Yui-chan.” Her blush slowly fades as she recovers her composure, her eyes glimmering with pleasure and embarrassment in equal measures. You push the teapot slowly away from the edge of the table, making it clear that you and she will be having one cup of tea together. Enma-Oh might not have the Jade Emperor's – May He Live Ten Thousand Times Ten Thousand Years – omniscience, but that doesn't mean he can't keep tabs on things going on in his domain. “I sincerely hope nothing bad is happening. You're starting to develop our talent for not reacting to things. Or maybe I'm just not as aware because I'm dead.”Yui-niji-chan's cheeks glow a soft ruddy color, your praise of her growing skills not eclipsed by the issue of your being dead at all. “No, I've been studying very hard, aniki,” she promises softly before she sips the tea. “Also, not much time has passed at all. I know it can be confusing in these places, but it's only been an hour or so.” She hesitates and you tilt your head slightly, running your tail up her leg to her back, caressing the smoothly muscled oni-chick affectionately. “Your big sister did have to give Kiki-hime a sedative, but it wore off slowly enough that her big sister could help her understand.”There's a faint flash of guilt, but your not entirely sure if it's deserved. You had pushed far too hard, for far too long, even with the help of others. Something was bound to give; you'll have to be more careful in the future. “Then, as long as you're sure you won't get in trouble, Yui-chan, you can stay as long as you can.”
>>2335495She smiles and leans into you, and you do so to her, your tails slowly twining about one another; her warmth and strength is more than merely comforting in this place. There seems to be something humbling, almost shameful about being trapped here, and you can't entirely resist the effects it has on you, it seems. But you are aware of them, and that counts for more than most people would think in your case.“It might take me a little time to compose a reply, though, even with a laptop....” Yui's crestfallen expression says everything. “Ah. No return service.”“The dead can't talk to the living, aniki,” she explains softly. “Enma-Oh was very clear about it.” You nod agreeably and she relaxes. Then she reaches over and pushes the 'play' button, and the screen fills with the worried, happy, (well mostly, Kiku-chan looks like she's ready to tear you a new one, your status as her deity notwithstanding), and beautiful members of your close family, including Inau-kun and Yuuhi-chan, all arranged on, in front of, or behind the couch. You place your hand over Yui's and her fingers tangle with yours, the warmth of her touch making your dead heart feel more at peace than you have in what feels like weeks.>To Be Continued....
Thank you for reading and playing. The message will be played next week, and some anons' dreads will also be realized.
>>2335522Thanks for running! Guess you're spoiling the heartwarming ending with that ominous post though!
>>2335522Thanks for running XS
>>2335526It's what you pay me to do. ...wait.
>>2335522Thanks for runningHow far does the no messages back rule extend? Can Yui talk about meeting Ryukusa and say she was doing fine or is any info regarding Hell out of the question?
>>2335522Thanks for running! This thread was surprsingly cozy for one where the MC is dead.
Thanks for running!Wonder which dreads it'll be
>>2335548Yui can say she saw her and delivered the message to ehr personally, but that's all. The same thing that prevents Yuuhi and Ryukusa from talking about what happens there extends to anyone who does go there. The reason will be revealed later.
>>2335535Excitable interest is a form of payment I'm sure.
>>2335573Oh. Most Immortals are enlightened, so we should do what they do, which is lightening their spiritual load, so to speak. Which might be what Kiku is about to tell us. We really should thank His Loathsome Majesty for his beneficence, but also various others and try to figure out a way to get home.
>>2336009I want to say that we should look into attaining enlightenment for ourselves, but I'm not sure what kind of hassle we're looking at there.
>>2336009Easier said than done. As Ryuu will learn.>>2336728It's antithetical to Shinto in a certain way, specifically the act of involving oneself in the world. Working towards enlightenment takes a certain amount of distancing yourself from the world while maintaining benevolence and selflessness. Despite her age, which is both advanced and youthful, Ryukusa is heavily invested in the world, especially her loved ones worlds. Divorcing herself from the world to allow things to happen without her interference would: first, violate her relationship with Amaterasu-Okami, especially her given task; second, require her to forgive toshio his evils, and resolve to confront him only if he sends further assaults in her direction; and third: isolate herself from the politics and situations her warriors and the gangs she associates with now are involved in.It would be a Herculean task. Not un-achievable, but next to impossible.
>>2337422And entirely unfashionable
>>2337422Oh geez, yeah nevermind. Not a good fit for Ryukusa, or any protagonist ever.
>>2338404Not any protagonist ever - only those not based on xianxia or heavier wuxia.
>>2337422I thought Yuuhi was enlightened, and she seems to be involved with whatever we tell her
>>2339701But she's already achieved enlightenment; like most enlightened immortals she has chosen to remain on earth to assist her fellow beings until everyone has achieved enlightenment, and therefore involves herself deeply in the world - to an extent.Achieving enlightenment and being enlightened are two very different things.
>>2339071I'll restate - not a good fit for a /qst/ protagonist. At least the for taking the path to enlightenment, I suspect you could handle writing for an enlightened protagonist long term.
