>The IntroHey y'all. If you couldn't tell, this quest will be taking place in the well known DC Comics universe. Here there be gods and monsters, magicians and aliens, and even a clown or two. But bear in mind that due to various time travel related and or multiversal shenanigans, the DC world is ridiculously complex as a whole. So I'll be running a very streamlined version of it. And to be up front about it, it will likely be shaped by my own likes, dislikes, and biases.Oh, and aforementioned shenanigans won't be making an appearance.Mostly.>The RulesI will write up the life of our young hero Morgan Barrett, a high school student who has just truly begun his career as a superhero in Gotham City as Gray Ghost, you will be given prompts to direct him. Some things will require a dice roll to determine success or failure or something else entirely. Write In's are absolutely encouraged but I reserve the right to torpedo anything. The voting period will last 20 minutes after the prompts are given. I will then announce the voting closed and write up the chosen response.>The DiceWe will be using 1d100 ninety percent of the time here. Best of three. We might use something else when applicable. I'll be running with a loose sort of degrees of success/failure thing here so no real DCs.>The Pastebinhttps://pastebin.com/hUhuBkxcHere's where the info on mechanics are, along with a chart of your current social links.>The Twitterhttps://twitter.com/SleepyQMFollow me here for updates on runtimes and whatnot.>The Archiveshttp://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?tags=SleepyQMHere's the collection of past threads. >>2301604The images of Deathstroke doing what he apparently does best damn near turns your stomach. The only ones who don't look at least a little disturbed are Dick and Kaldur. Not that surprising, Dick works with Batman. Who knows how much messed up shit he sees in a week? And Kaldur? You really have no idea but he's got one hell of a poker face. "For those of us unfamiliar with him. Deathstroke is well known in mercenary circles and assassination contractors. He does just about anything, for exorbitant amounts of money." He plays a video of the man jumping out of the window of an aprtment, landing about 30 feet down onto a passing car, and stabbing his signature broadsword through the roof of the vehicle, killing the driver before he smoothly flips off the vehicle."As you can see, he's incredibly skilled. He served in the US army for a long time, working Black Ops just as long. He's conflicted with Batman several times before. He either makes his escape, or goes to prison. But he always finds his way out. Or someone shows him the door." Clicking around again, he pulls up a new video. One showing slightly blurry footage of a much younger Slade on a metal table getting several injections. "On top of that, he's a metahuman. He received an experimental operation meant to save his life, and came out with superhuman physical capabilities. Including regeneration." He brings up a new image, one of the man himself, sans the mask. The man you saw earlier today at school. "Slade Wilson is regarded by many as the world's deadliest assassin. This is what we're dealing with."Dick leans back, hands in his dark hair. "His deal. His deal is very simple. He told me that he received a contract order on the Teen Titans from H.I.V.E. And that he can put that contract on pause, but resurrect it at any time if we defy his terms."Kaldur is the first to speak up. Still as stone faced as ever. "And what are his terms?""That's where it gets strange. He said that as long as we don't interfere in H.I.V.E's activities, he'll ignore us. And stranger still, he promised that H.I.V.E will not attack us while this deal is in effect."Roy shakes his head. "This guy is friggin insane! Even if he did manage to off us. What kind of idiot doesn't consider what the people that trained us will do to him? Ollie may be an ass, but he'd put an arrow through his good eye if something happened to me.""I considered that too, and so did he. In his own words 'The only one whose a true threat is Batman, and he'll never use a permanent solution.' So he's weighed the risks." Donna doesn't take too kindly to Wonder Woman being dissed like that, she practically spits, her screen shaking all around. "Why that one-eyed weasel! I say we find him and show him our counter offer!""Deathstroke is not to be underestimated." Kaldur cuts in with a cool head. "If he is prepared to incur the wrath of the likes of our mentors. Then we know he is serious about his threat.">Continued
>>2301609"But isn't this weird?" Everyone looks at Artemis, as she prepares to give her two cents. "I mean like, this guy is called the Terminator. Really, if he got a contract on us, wouldn't he just do it?"The whole cave is silent, save for occasional thumps coming from the training area. "Which brings us to the real questions." Dick closes all of the grisly images and brings up information on H.I.V.E. "Why is Slade willing to go that far? We've heard a million times that he'll do anything for a job, but potentially making personal enemies of the Justice League? Why?"Silence again, everyone's got their thinking caps on but nobody can think of a reason why this guy would go out of his way from H.I.V.E. Dick eventually shrugs. "That's what I thought. For now... we'll just have to abide by his terms, put any H.I.V.E operations on pause and pass those onto the League."Roy slams his hands on his console, shaking his screen "Dude, you can't be serious! He's either bluffing or he's an idiot but we can take him either way! C'mon!"Donna cuts in as well. "I must agree with Harper. I believe that we can bring this mercenary to justice as a team.""That's what I'm talkin about Troy! C'mon guys, we gonna let this guy determine when and how we do our thing? What happens the next time H.I.V.E starts skinning puppies or whatever evil bullshit they get up to? We just let em? The League can't do it all!""That's not what I'm saying!" Dick tries to jump ahead of any more objections. But he's not making much headway with Roy or Donna, while Kaldur shuts his eyes, seemingly in deep thought. You turn to Artemis, whose been largely silent. And she shrugs. "I've heard of Deathstroke several times from my dad. Even he avoids him. I don't know...">"Fuck it, I'm with Roy and Donna, we can take this guy. Then we just, put him in a hole he can't crawl out of.">"Honestly, Dick is right. We're missing something here. >>2301797You might as well get a word in. "Y'know what I think? We should find answers to these questions. Figure him out. If this goes against his usual MO then we should find what made him break it." Dick snaps his fingers. "I agree, when you don't have enough intel, you gather more. And having the answers to these questions could save us later."Kaldur nods sagely, like he does. "Indeed. I believe that would be the wisest move in the meantime. It will carry some risk. But it is better than outright battle.""Is it, Kaldur'ahm?" Donna shrugs. "I believe a direct approach to be best most often. But, Diana always preaches the wisdom in knowing when to fight. Fine, I concede to this course of action.""You too, Troy?" Roy adjusts his hat, clearly kind of bummed everyone cooled down so quickly. "Alright. We voted you leader for a reason right? At least it's better than doing nothing."Dick turns and looks to Artemis. "Hey, you won't hear any objections from me. I'm not trying to jump into a fight with Deathstroke.""Then it looks like we're unanimous. Our next move will be gathering intel on Deathstroke's relationship to H.I.V.E. Until then, as you were. As always, don't hesitate to call if you're in trouble." After that, everyone says their goodbyes and disappears off of the Batcomputer screen. Dick immediately get's to work on researching everything the database has on the legendary merc.Babs approaches where you and Blondie are sitting, that box of electronic scrap still under her arm. She was real quiet during that whole thing. "Hey Babs, whats up?""Just wanted to say, I know I'm not a Titan. And guys like Deathstroke scare the crap outta me. But I'll be there if any of you need a hand." "Oh, thanks. I- uh. I don't know what to say." Blondie seems almost surprised by the offer. "You don't have to say anything. You guys are taking on some scary stuff as the Titans, so I figure I can help out somewhere. Even if I don't think I should be on the team." You whittle away about an hour in the Batcave. Work on some homework with Babs, compare notes with Dick, soon enough you're back on the bus home. Not feeling up for patrol after the long-ish day you've had.>Continued
>>2302001Mom is already home once you head in, her pure white lab coat hanging by the door warns you of her presence as you walk in. And you exchange an easy greeting since she thinks you were at the Gym, as usual. A couple hours later you're both sitting down for dinner in the living room. Pizza tonight. Again. But goddammit, you could eat pizza for the rest of your life and never get sick of it. Mom finishes her slice, crust and all before downing the rest of her drink. "So, there's something I've been meaning to talk with you about. And I've put it off for far too long." You throw up your hands, mouth half full. "Mom! I guarantee that me and Dad had this talk already."And you received a roll up paper towel in your face for your joke. "You know that's not what I'm getting at, young man. There's going to be some changes at work so I wanted you to know in case you ever had to come up to the lab.""Oh yeah? What's going on?" S.T.A.R labs hasn't been doing too hot from what you overhear from mom lately."Well, there have been multiple break-ins at different labs across the country. And while the PR folks would tone it down. I want you to know the truth so I'll tell you, we've had more incidents this year than any other year in our established history. It's not good." She's turned serious now. She's got a face on that you rarely see. "The security has been upped considerably. So you'll have to go through a number of checks if you come by the lab. Nothing I can do about it.">"Any idea why this is all going down?">"What have these people been stealing?">"Hey, didn't you mention a break in at the lab in Gotham?">"Sounds like Justice League territory.">"Write-In?"Sorry about the delay guys.

>>2302118Damn. S.T.A.R. labs getting hit this much can only spell more work for you in the future. And it can only mean bad news if that kinda tech gets to some supervillain. Or even some street tough who thinks they got a shiny new toy. "Any idea why this is all going down? I mean, that kinda incident rate is off the charts.""It is. But honestly? I don't know. It's happening across the country and from what I've heard, the circumstances are often different from each other. There was a major theft from the lab in Chicago about a month ago, turns out it was a inside job. It even turned into a high speed chase! Didn't you see it on the news? A hero stopped them in their tracks. He's new too, Robotman? Or something like that." She flips through channels on the tv until she reaches the local news, reminded of it by your conversation. You dump your greasy plate and check your phone, it was buzzing a while ago but you were knee deep in cheese and pepperoni. "Hey, didn't you mention a break in at the lab in Gotham? You think this is connected?""I'm not sure, Morgan. It could be. I'm sure you realize that S.T.A.R labs would be a big target for those with ill intent. We do some pretty amazing things up there. That's what keeps me going back you know? I love my job." Then it hits you, if the incidents are getting more frequent. Then it just might be a matter of time until something else happens at mom's lab. "Hey, you gonna be alright. It's not dangerous is it?"She just smiles and shakes her head. "No no. If the threat were that serious they would just lock down the lab until it passed. I'll be fine, son. How about you? School treating you alright? I'm not talking about your grades mind you, I watch those like a hawk. Make any friends in your time there?""Huh? Oh yeah, totally. You know Dick and Artemis, they've been real cool. And there's Barbara, smartest person I know. And Megan, she's new. She uh- just moved here. From far away." Speaking of your friends, you oughta lock down a study session with Babs for later. End of the semester is coming up."Hmm? More girls?" She chuckles and give you an almost cat-like look. "I knew you'd be popular, just like your father but now I just feel bad for the other boys at your school. Or girls, I don't judge." Not this again. "Mom.""What? I'm your mother, I'm entitled to a little embarrassing conversation every once in a while. Unless. You're not interested in girls?""MOM.""I'm just kidding! Learn to take a joke, honey. But you're sure she's having a much harder time adjusting. A whole new planet has gotta be overwhelming. Maybe even a little scary. Maybe you should pop by the manor and see how she's doing. Not wanting to call Alfred just for a social call, you take a couple buses and end up walking until you just grab a cab. You never realized just how removed Wayne Manor is from the rest of Gotham. Bruce is really alone out here. Well, there's Alfred but he's just one guy. You pay a cab fare that lightens your wallet more than you'd like and take a single step out to see the old butler himself waiting for you."You know I was coming?" You ask as you hop up the stone steps."There isn't much that goes on on this property without Master Bruce's knowledge. We simply saw you coming, Mr.Barrett." He points an immaculate gloved finger to a nearby small gargoyle perched on the manor and when you squint, you notice a tiny lens.Impressed, you whistle as you enter the giant home. "Is Dick here?""He and Master Bruce are actually working a case at the moment. Were you hoping to see Master Richard?" He smoothly takes your jacket for you without you even having to ask."Eh, yes and no. I actually came over to see if Megan was bored. Being on a different planet must be somethin' else." The old guy actually cracks a smile. "Ah, how considerate of you. Ms.Morse is most likely in her guest room. That girl does love her television. I'll tell Master Richard you stopped by. >>2302587Taking a moment to actually look around, you're really struck by just how filthy rich the Waynes must be. Well, how rich Bruce must be. You could throw a rock anywhere in the place and damage something worth more than your life. And the manor is positively lined with antiques. You pass a monolithic grandfather when you reach the top of the stairs, then pass what you recognize as an old chinese vase on your way down one of the many halls.Seriously, one accident in the house could cost thousands. You keep your hands in your pockets in instinct until you reach the door of the guest room Megan has claimed. You go to knock, but stop short upon seeing the makeshift wooden sign that reads Megan in cursive writing. With a couple flowers thrown in for decoration. Hmm. Cute. You raise a fist to knock again but the door whooshes open on it's own, and you're met with the smiling face of the girl herself. "Morgan! Hi! Sorry if I startled you, I sensed you when you got to the door. Whats up?"She gestures for you to come in so you step in her room. Immediately, you see it's considerably more customized than before. She's got her own sheets on the bed, homework is strewn about on the desk. She's got flowers a nearby vase. There's even some little wooden figurines around. "Oh you know, nothing much. Just looking to kill time with so many cases on ice right now. Then I thought I'd come see how you 're gettin' along.""Really? Oh I'm doing just great. Earth is really wonderful you know? It disorients him, and leaves him open for the right hook that sends him stumbling into the brick wall. The one after him doesn't try anything new. He grabs a long plank of rotting wood and swings away at you, whiffing every single one. You catch the plank under your arm and smash it in two, it's so lame you don't even have to use your powers. A quick uppercut knocks him on his ass. The last guy is clearly freaking out. This sort of thing probably never happens, cowards like them only deal in sure things. He whips out a pistol and your heart jumps. You harden arms and bring them together to avoid doing anything too obvious but the shot never comes. He tries again and again to depress the trigger but it just won't budge. Megan. She calmly steps up. And grabs the criminal by his probably stolen leather jacket and throws him into a group of trash cans. >Continued
>>2303133Whoa. Guess it would make sense she's stronger than the average teenage girl. And not exactly subtle but she get's points for it regardless. With all of the thugs moaning on the asphalt you take one look at Megan and smile. "Run." And so you do. You head back the way you came into a nicer area. One where the odds of a shakedown are much lower."So! How'd I do? Titans material?" She grins, practically giddy at the bite sized piece of action she got."I'd say so. I didn't catch the gun until it was too late. Ya did good." You scratch at the back of your head. Looking for the right words. "And sorry your outing had to be capped off with an attempted mugging.""Oh that's okay! I wanted to do some kind of test anyhow. Dick said he's preparing something like that in the you-know-where."A test eh? Makes sense. With her powers and attitude. It's hard not seeing her as a shoe in. As you both talk and laugh you realize that the sun is setting. And you know Gotham after dark isn't a place you wanna be walking around in your civvies. Should probably just see Megan back to the manor. You can feel your mom's eyes judging you if you didn't take a cab back with her. And you're pretty close to home too. And you've never done that before. Closest you got was that dance in freshman year. Jesus, are you really thinking about Garfield High right now? You've gotta get your head clear. And you know just the place."Hey, Megan. wanna see where I learned to do that?" Of course, she just nods furiously. She'd be excited to take a walk in the sewers. Hailing a cab, you're on your way to Gran'ts Gym.----Before you know it, you're walking through the familiar double doors of the old building. The later crowd of the gym is always a quiet bunch. People that probably just got off of work. They wanna finish their work out, and go home. And you appreciate that compared to some of the loud mouthed attention seekers you see during the day.Ted comes your way once he sees you. "Hey kid, thought I might see you droppin' by soon enough. Whose your friend?""Ted, Megan. Megan, Ted. I met her at work, remember?" You drop your backpack in Ted's office like usual."Oh yeah." he shakes her hand in a surprisingly gentle manner. "Good to finally meet you, I hear my student helped you out of quite a jam.""Yes, they were a inspiration. You could say. Morgan said you taught him a great deal about fighting." Shes practically got stars in her eyes, looking at all of Ted's old prizefight posters.Ted unwraps his knuckles and spot a little blood on the white of them as he tosses em in the trash. "Yeah? Well he had a good base. Speakin o' which. Morgan, you keeping good on your reps? You know what happens when you get sloppy.""You get dead. I know. And of course I'm keepin' up. I'm here at least fours days a week. But that ain't why I'm here today. Megan is aiming for a spot on the Titans. So I thought she might wanna meet a couple of vets." "Heh, well you picked a good time. Dinahs trainin up on the second floor. She's in a bit of a sour mood. But I'm sure seeing you kids will cheer her up." She speaks with an almost hushed reverence."Ted would definitely take that as a compliment. Then he must be-""Yep, we're not completely alone here, remember?""Oh oh, right. Hello Megan.~" God, that sounds so familiar. You've heard her say that plenty of times now but why do you get deja vu? Climbing the steps upstairs, you hear Dinah before you see her. It's almost odd seeing her without her leather jacket. Her platinum blonde hair is tied up and she's in full workout gear. Sweating up a storm and beating the ever living shit out of a sand bag. If it were a person you'd call the cops."Uh, Dinah?" She stops short of one more harsh kick to bag and turns to face the both of you with a frown on her face until she recognizes you. Then it turns to a smile. "Morgan! And a new friend. And cute too." Megan just giggles at the compliment while you sigh."Jeez, You sound like my mom.""I've heard about her, sounds like a tough lady so I'll take it as a compliment." After a quick and abridged explanation she takes a seat to cool off and takes a big gulp from a nearby water bottle. "Alright, I get the gist. Good to meet you Megan. I'm sure you don't know who I am, Morgan knows how to keep a secret." Megan just shakes her head and Dinah stands again. "Well, I'll introduce myself again, as Black Canary."What Megan let's out can only be described as a fangirl screech. "Omygosh, that Black Canary?! Voted 2nd most badass heroine?!""Yep, that's me... Wait. Second?""Wonder Woman was in first.""Oh. Yeah, that's like competing with the big blue boyscout himself. I'll take the silver." Megan and Dinah get to talking after that. Mostly about what it's like to be a female superhero. And some about Dinah's mother, who was on the original Justice Society team. Seems like they're taking to each other pretty well. You're about to give them some space to talk but Dinah stops you with a hand on your shoulder. "Hold on, I was just telling Megan about fighting technique but I thought it'd be better to show than tell. Wanna help out?"A grin creeps up your face. "Lemme get changed.">End of session

Doesn't take you long to change into your gym clothes, you keep a set in your backpack nowadays just to be safe. Dinah is waiting patiently in one of the vacant rings and it seems Ted has begun herding the remaining customers on out of the gym and the place is almost empty by now. You climb up into the ring with practiced ease and notice a pair of boxing gloves floating near your face."Thanks, Meg." Putting on the gloves makes you realize just how often you and Ted do things bareknuckle around here. He'd probably say something about it building character or whatever, not that you care, you only ever have a thin layer of coverage between your knuckles and criminals faces anyhow.Dinah already has hers on, her personal pair. All black of course. She steps in the center of the ring with you. "Alright so this is how we'll do this. No powers at all, boxing only, no powers whatsoever. Got it?""Got it." "Then let's rumble." You both touch gloves and back off to opposite corners of the ring.Ted reappears, says something you don't catch to Megan, and approaches the ring. "Awright, I know I don't need to tell you two to keep it clean. First to three solid hits, I'll call em." He blows sharply into his whistle as his signal to start and you meet Dinah in the center of the ring again. You never really noticed how Dinah measures up physically, she's pretty tall for a lady, bout' 5'7. Her muscle definition is crystal clear without her jacket covering it. And you know she learned from Ted a long time before you stumbled upon the gym. You might not even be able to win this. >>2305070You and Dinah begin circling each other immediately, your minds both proceeding on the same path. You're almost in sync as you both take a step inward and throw your first punches, Dinah isn't holding back much, if at all. Her jabs come in high at first then she twists in low at your ribs, grazing you with her gloves and forcing you to back pedal just that little bit.But you press back on her, throwing high jabs to use your height advantage. She leans out of the way every time, until you see your opportunity. You step in close and swing a hard right before quickly jabbing your left, landing a solid hit on her midsection. She barely flinches but you felt the impact clearly and the sharp sound of Ted's whistle breaks the repetitive sounds of the fight.Dinah actually has a smile on her face as you head back to your opposite corners. Megan cheers enthusiastically from the side bench, actually making you feel pretty good about your small victory. Can't underestimate a pretty girl cheering you on. You won't deny it. Upon Ted's signal, you both meet in the center once again to repeat the process. Dinah speaks to you in a low voice, Megan isn't gonna hear unless she's listening with her brain. And you're starting to suspect Ted of being a just a little hard of hearing. "You're friends really something. Says she's shooting for a spot on the Teen Titans. Smooth as you've come to expect."That's a pretty honest response. Not like I expected any less though. And I agree. I'm not your team supervisor, but having someone with her viewpoint around could really help your group. You know, the Justice League has more members than are public." She draws her arms in close and blocks a full on cross, the sound of the material of the gloves slapping against skin is almost nostalgic for you now."For real? Thought you guys were a bit of a public secret club." Dinah goes on the offensive after her block, she throws a couple jabs to get you on the defensive and throws an overhand that you just weren't prepared for. You end up holding your arms up in a attempt to block and end up in a clinch. But Dinah is having a harder time holding due to your height advantage. You push off and step in, leaning down to almost be eye-level with her. She holds her hands up in a Peek-a-boo style but your already in, your arm thrusts forward and you get a solid hit right on her nose. You can tell this one actually surprised her. she takes a moment to rub the soreness out and Ted calls the blow with his whistle."You're doin' great kid! "You remind of Dick you know, you're both pretty driven. Like Bruce. I just don't want you to be too much like him." You take steps back to get a break from her constant swings but at thins point she's almost chasing you around the ring!"You know Bruce?" Gotham used to be my mom's territory. So I wanted to know who the mysterious Batman was. He's let's the bad things in his life drive him, and it's powerful. But it can also make him a bit cold." She steps out for just a second, and you take what you see as an opportunity. But Dinah surprises you once again. She baited you. She leans in past your jab and hits you with a bolo punch, you haven;t really mastered that one yet. It takes full advantage of the height difference too. You never saw it coming. She pops you right on the chin and you stumble to your ass on the mat and Ted calls it with a blow of the whistle. Dinah walks up and gives you a hand to get back on your feet, and your just a little dazed. "You hear what I'm saying, Morgan? Don't let your tragedy define you.""I- I think so." You wipe some spit from your jaw and she chuckles."Alright, back to it." Once again, you head back to opposite corners and back to the center. It's almost like a dance really. >>2305838It's barely a decision really, Ted offered you biking lessons and you want that license! Plus, you can't put it off forever. Adding to your collection of skills can only help. It's an easy bus ride to the Gym, as Gotham get's colder you see less people out and about. We're well into just dipping into October now. The leaves have completed their color changes and snow will be hitting the city soon. When you arrive, the gym's doors are locked and the lights are off. It gives you pause, in all the days you've been coming to this place, it's never been closed. Not for weekends. Or for holidays. It takes a moment to remember the spare key he gave you when you started working here. YOu fish it out of your pocket along with your house keys and open it up, locking the door behind you.Immediately, you notice a light, a golden light coming out of the cracked door of Ted's office. Shit! You remember what happened last time you saw that! Dropping your bag you rush to the door and swing it open. But there's not portal this time. Just Ted. Meditating. Mid air. In front of him floats a medallion in that same shape of Doctor Fate's symbol. His eyes and the medallion radiate the familiar golden light. Before you can do anything, the medallion fall to the floor and the light dissipates. Ted opens his eyes and smoothly lands on the floor. "Hey Morgan, thought I'd see you today. Sorry about leavin' the lights off but I had to take an emergency call from Fate."You pick up the medallion off the floor. This thing could easily be real gold, and it shines like Fate's helmet. "Fate? That sounds serious. Was it?" Ted just waves for you to follow him. "He doesn't know yet. But it's apparently serious enough to warrant warning this old fogey so, I guess we'll see what comes of it.""What'd he say? Anything I should be worried about?" You hold the old mini garage door open for Ted as he hooks it and rolls out his bike.He scratches at the back of his head of greying hair. Smirk on his face. "Something about a disturbance in the world of dreams. It mostly flew over my head kid. So let's get to something I do know. Let's ride.">Roll 1d100+20

>>2306024Ted takes you out on the streets today. And it's perfect timing with less traffic. You don't quite ace it like last time, but you expected that given your not quite on the bare basics anymore. With Ted at you're back, he guides you whenever you start to veer off and gives you pointers on balance and defensive driving, how to stay safe on the road. Which you feel is a bit moot since you can dissolve into an invincible cloud at will. But doing that in front of a bunch of witnesses on the road? Not so smart. You end up back in Ted's garage after a couple of hours and he seems pretty pleased with your progress. He cracks open a small fridge in the back and also cracks open a beer, and tosses you a soda. Can't complain. From there, you spend a while going over maintenance and how a motorcycle works. In Ted's own words, 'knowing how the machine works, leads to a better relationship with the machine.'You're not tryin' to date the bike. But you just absorb everything he gives you. You'd be stupid to complain, you asked for lessons. After another couples hours you're both lounging on a couple lounge chairs, staring out at the empty parking lot. Ted's got Fate's medallion in his hand, tracing over the inlaid ridges with his thumb. "Well kid, from here it's mostly about practice. Next time, I'll teach you how to drive offensively. Then you'll be ready to take to the road on mission.""Hell yeah, and at this rate. I'll have my license by the end of the year. No bike yet. But I'll cross that bridge when I get to it." The old guy just laughs, crushing the aluminum can in his other hand."Yeah! Don't let something as petty as reality stop you, kid.""You makin fun of me?""Did it sound like it?" He just laughs off your irritation and before you can say anything else your phone buzzes in your pocket. You've got something from Dick. 'Meet up as soon as you can. Emergency situation.' Great. You just look at Ted and he knows. "C'mon, I'll get you there faster than our esteemed public transportation service ever could."Hopping back on his bike, you zoom through the late afternoon streets of Gotham, all the way to Wayne Manor. Ted barely stops to say goodbye when you arrive, simply waving and heading back the way he came. The front doors to the manor are unlocked but you think it's safe to assume they left them that way for you. Especially when they lock behind you. A quick elevator ride down and your're in the Batcave.>Continued
>>2306210Dick greets you before you even get a chance to step off the elevator, already in costume. "Glad you could make it here so fast. We've got a little situation here."A familiar whoosh washes over you and you're met with Kid Flash himself. "A little one? Dude, how is this little? This is a disaster!""Calm down, Wally. Panicking isn't gonna help anything.""But we need to do more than stand around and wait, this train is still moveing full speed ahead to disaterville!"You snap you fingers between them, getting their attention. "How about someone share with me huh?"Robin jerks a thumb to the main platform and you see a man clad in bright red and lightning bolts talking with Batman. "The Flash? Why he is here?""League business." He says that with big air-quotes. Clearly not amused. "Flash detected that whatever Gorilla Grodd is building is affecting Central City. He's here to ask Batman for help and predictably, Batman took us off the case.">"That's bullshit! This is our lead, Flash wouldn't have even known what to look for without us!">"No way! >>2306316You wanna call bullshit. But something else demands your attention first. "Hold the phone. If we're off the case, then why're you here, KF? Why am I here?"Robin just smirks and checks over his shoulder. Batman and Flash are still pouring over the Batcomputer. "We're here because, Donna needed a large place to land away from prying eyes."You find yourself grinning already. "No shit? We're gonna fly?""You have no idea. Batman and Flash are heading to Gorilla City first, since they have no idea where Grodd actually is and Flash wanted backup before he poked the hornet's nest." Robin signals for you to follow and you all move to a lower platform . From there, he leads you through some undeveloped by still well lit tunnels all the way to another elevator. Rising up, you end up stepping out from a hidden stairwell under a statue in the back of the Wayne manor. And you emerge just in time to see the Batwing fly off, and Flash has gotta be miles away by now. Robin hits a couple buttons on his gauntlet and the air a a dozen feet in front of you ripples until something is revealed. And that something, is probably the most advanced vehicle you've ever seen, this thing even puts the Batwing to shame. It's contoured all over, covered in a sort of bronze color. And it's engines are fucking running. It's silent! Wondergirl appears from the loading ramp and waves enthusiastically. "Hello my brothers! Are you ready for the next battle?">End of Session
>>2306353Yo, sorry about the smallish final update. I gotta get going. But I'll be able to answers questions and stuff if you guys have them. Not sure when our next thread will be, that's why I wanted to do another session today. Hope you enjoyed that fight with Canary, wasn't sure if that was turning out well.
>>2306353It was good, definitely showed we can hold up against a vet that underestimates us.
>>2306362Thanks for running man. I really appreciate you running more. Will it be a regular thing or is this just temporary?
>>2306362Hey, no sweat. It was a fun ride...so, questions.I got none...which is weird for me...I just want to know what happens ne-Wait, question! Are you using the Invisible Jet design from Morrison's Earth One WW?
>>2306408Honestly? I'll probably be running in bursts. Two days in a row then a week in between. I wanna try to run at least once a week. >>2306426Yes and no? I read through that recently so that's probably what gave me the idea. It's definitely more like that than an actual jet. Kind of weird and non-standard. I figured it'd be fun to use the invisible jet. WW certainly doesn't need it!
>>2306437>>2306362Hey qm I missed the thread but I wanted to give you some encouragement, the fight with Dinah was great and I'm really digging the social aspects. It's good stuf
>>2307309Late as hell but I wanna say thanks anon!
Just binged the quest. You got a nice quest going here QM.Megan a cute!
>>2325784I really appreciate it anon, didn't think I'd get people to do that after I dropped it and came back but I guess that's not the case!Of course she is, anon. She's the cute one.Oh and I'll be archiving this now.
>>2325940Nah, most people get real life happens. Plus /qst/ is just a slower board in a lot of ways. Time is usually all that's needed for a good quest to get more players.
