Hello, good people of /qst/. This quest is, as is probably obvious from the OP pic, based on the Teen Titans animated series. You'll be taking the part of a young man and potential Titan, guiding him through his trials and tribulations.>RulesThere will be a 15 minute voting period between posts. Please only choose one option (I will let you know in cases where you can choose more)An option with two arrows (>>) beside it is one that can be combined with other optionsWrite-ins of dialogue are allowed, but they won't be put in as-written, just sort of the spirit of the write-in. Additionally, dialogue write-ins require a significant amount of support from other players to be put in, as they can greatly affect the character. Action write-ins will only be allowed under certain circumstances, which I'll announce. You can suggest an action to me if you want, and I may allow it, but might not depending on various factors. No dice system in this quest. Victory and defeat will come down to decisions rather than random luck. Learn from experiences, develop strategies, and think outside the box at times (like I said, an action can be suggested to me).Above all, have fun. I want this to be an enjoyable experience for everyone. Through success, failure, and everything in-between, I hope this will be an adventure worth remembering.Last thread is kept here >http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?searchall=TT+Quest>http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?tags=Master+of+GamesTwitter: https://twitter.com/INSTIGATORQST
When you wake up from your nap, you feel refreshed, but also somewhat unhappy at how much time you've had to spend sleeping thanks to your powers. They just seem to burn so much of your energy that using them for more than a minute or two can put you out of commission for hours. If Blood really did give you these powers, you can only assume he meant for you to rely heavily on your prior combat training and only use them sparingly. But, you can't remember much of anything from those days, so you can't know for sure.Great. That's going to be a common theme for quite some time with you. An entire lifetime of memories lost, and only a few short weeks to begin creating new ones. As much as you love the Titans, as much as you love your new life, you can't help but feel frustrated every time you realize how little you know about yourself.Part of you regrets not accepting Blood's offer.Well, nothing to be done for that right now. And, as you think about it, not a whole lot else to do right now. Robin and Raven are busy doing some research, and it's getting dark. Not that you really feel like going out and about in the city after today's events, but your options are much more limited because of that.>A. Stay in your room, meditate>B. Go to the common room and see what the others are up to>C. Go see if Robin's found anything>D. Go see if Raven's found anything>E. Go outside (stay on the island)>/>>F. Write-in

>>2236479>>2236482Might as well see what Beast Boy, Cyborg, and Starfire are up to. Maybe they'll have an idea of something fun to do. It beats sitting alone in your room, in any case. Getting up out of bed and fixing your hair, you open the door and step into the hall, only to find yourself subjected to a strong, unpleasant stench assaulting your nose. You can't place what exactly it is, but it doesn't take long for you to figure out where it's coming from.Turning to your right, you're greeted by the sight of Beast Boy and Cyborg, the latter of whom has his arms tucked behind his back. The stench is clearly coming from them, or, most likely, from whatever Cyborg is holding behind his back. Each of your friends is grinning, though something about those grins makes you feel a little uneasy. "Well, look who's up," Cyborg says joyfully. "We were just coming to check on you, man.""We know you're new to the team, but we think you've been here long enough to get in on the greatest sensation sweeping the nation," Beast Boy tells you eagerly."Or, the stinky sensation sweeping the tower," Cyborg corrects.Beast Boy points at you. "Kid Crimson, you have been selected to take part in the one, the only, the stinky and stupendous game of Stank Ball!"Cyborg finally reveals what he was hiding behind his back, and your face scrunches up from the smell as it somehow becomes stronger. He's holding what looks like a bunch of dirty socks (and even some underwear) all neatly packed together in a foul-smelling ball.>A. "Alright, how do we play?">B. "I think I'm good.">>C. Beast Boy tells you excitedly. "Your job is to not get hit as much as possible, and hit us with it as much as possible.""We keep going until the stank takes all but one of us down!" Cyborg tells you, pumping his fist in excitement.Okay, it is a chance to kick their butts at something, and with your barriers, you could actually do very well at this. But, maybe you should draw the line at throwing "stank" balls at each other.>A. "Alright, I'm in.">B. "I'm good."

>>2236635"I'm good," you answer, slowly backing away and preparing to raise a barrier in case of sudden attack by smelly projectiles.Beast Boy and Cyborg look disappointed, but just kind of shrug it off. Cyborg turns and throws the ball against the side of Beast Boy's head, and the changeling is knocked to the floor. Grabbing the ball and standing back up, Beast Boy proceeds to take the form of a gorilla and chase Cyborg down the hall. You shake your head at their antics, double-taking when you see something out of the corner of your eye.Turning toward your door, you see someone outside your window, seemingly clinging to the glass and looking in at you. They're wearing armor that you recognize as belonging to the HIVE, complete with some kind of weird bee-helmet covering their face. Once you make eye contact, they wave at you, then point to the window, seeming to be requesting that you open it.Your first instinct is to run and get the others, but somehow, you have the sense that you've seen this person before. That seems especially odd since they're hidden by armor and a helmet, but still, you can't shake the feeling that you know them.>A. Go into your room, lock the door, and open the window>B. The visitor shifts over to give you room to open it, but does not move or act beyond that until you begin to crack the window open."Try anything funny, and you'll regret it," you warn."I'm not here for a fight," a male voice assures you as you open the window the rest of the way.The figure slowly moves into your room, stepping away from the window and removing his helmet, revealing a head of short, brown hair. He turns around, and that feeling of knowing this person magnifies a thousand times over. He's about your age, blue-eyed, looking at you with a sad expression. "Peter," he greets almost longingly. "It's...well, I wish I could say it's good to see you, but seeing you like this definitely isn't good."He turns around and walks to your dresser, setting his helmet down on top of it. "That's just like you, S- Peter. No nonsense and straight to business."His smile doesn't last, and his sad look returns. "I go by Linus these days, but you knew me as Simon back when we used to work together. We were partners in training and a lot of assignments, and both got selected to be part of Blood's special team. We were best friends, even if you can't remember."You don't say anything, instead waiting silently for him to get to the point of why exactly he's here. Even so, the name "Simon" does sound quite familiar, and deep down, you believe that he's telling you the truth right now. Maybe he was your best friend back then."I'm just here to talk," he tells you, sounding sincere as he backs up and leans against the wall. "When Blood told us all what happened to you, I didn't believe it. I don't think any of the others did, either. But a few of us overheard the chats he was having with you, so....well, I had to see for myself."He looks around your room, shaking his head in disbelief. "I never pictured you like this, Peter. I figured the only time you'd be hanging around Titans Tower would be after we took them down."He looks to the floor. "But, you're one of them, now. "I didn't come to beg you to come back. I came to beg you to leave. You need to get out of Jump City, and get as far away as you can.""Why?" you ask, wondering what information you can get out of him."Because it's starting soon," he warns, lifting his head to look you in the eye. "Blood says it's only a few months at most before we finish the project's mission. When that happens, Titans Tower, and every Teen Titan will be killed. You may not be one of us anymore, you may not even remember me, but you were my best friend, so I at least owe this much to you. I don't want you to die. And, I won't lie to you, when all's said and done, you'll probably die anyway. But if you leave the city and don't get involved, you'll live just a little longer, and won't have to suffer."That raises several more questions. And, despite him saying that you're going to be dead, it doesn't sound like he's threatening you. He's more just stating a fact that even he's not happy about. The more this guy talks, the more you believe that the two of you were really friends, and that he genuinely is trying to help you in his way.>>A. "I won't run, and I won't abandon the Titans. >>2236977>>2236953>>2236947"What is Blood planning?" you ask him. "What's this project? What were we supposed to do?"He looks at you, opens his mouth to say something, then shakes his head. "Sorry, but I can't let too much slip or Blood will have my head for sure. I wasn't even supposed to come here, but I can handle some punishment."He looks around for a moment, but doesn't seem to find what he's looking for. Then, he seems to consider something, and finally speaks again, though you can firmly say you did not expect the kind of answer he gives."Twenty. Seven," he says."Twenty-seven?" you ask."No, not one number," he tells you in a low hiss. "Twenty, colon, seven.""What in the world does that mean?" you ask.Simon...or Linus, or whatever his name is, shakes his head at you again. Honestly, you're starting to get tired of that."I can't say any more than that," he says with finality. "I'm sorry.""Why are you helping Blood?" you demand, getting more and more frustrated by the moment. This time, it's not even because of the vague answers. You're really more confused and upset that someone who clearly cares about you, so much so that he's willing to risk Blood's wrath to try and help you, is working for Blood and the HIVE. He came to try and save your life (or at least let you live longer), so he can't be all bad."Because Blood saved my life," he answers, sounding defenseless. "He's given me everything, and I owe it to him to repay that debt. I can't just forget all he's done for me like you did, even if I wish I could."He lowers his head again. "Besides, whether I'm there to help it or not, it's going to happen. Blood's plan is going on without you, and it can go on without me. The only difference is that if I help it, I'll stay alive."He puts his helmet back on and steps toward the window, looking back at you one last time. "Goodbye, Peter. I really hope we don't see each other again."That sounds harsh, but you get his meaning. "Peter, it's great that you got some information, but why would you let a member of the HIVE into Titans Tower?" Robin asks in a scolding tone."What's the big deal?" Beast Boy asks. "How many times have we let Jinx in here?""Not the time, man," Cyborg tells him."20:7" Raven repeats. "Maybe we should take a look at some religious texts.""See what you can find," Robin instructs. "I'm going to give you a pass this time, but don't do something like that again without at least consulting one of us."You don't need to ask what will happen if you do; one look at Robin's face makes it crystal clear that you won't like the consequences of repeating that action. He's giving you a warning this time and explaining the rules, but next time, knowing full well that you shouldn't and why you shouldn't, you will be punished in some way. Your mind scours every atom of itself, and soon, you find yourself.,.....standing over a desk, looking down at a stack of papers and a series of folders. The folders have the names Simon, Samuel, Marissa, Ryan, and Paul. You know those names. Yours is among them, and the rest are other agents of the HIVE that you've worked closely with more than once. But, your mind is not focused on information about them, so that portion of the memory does not develop further. Instead, you take a look at the papers, noticing 20:7 written on the first page on top of the stack. Brother Blood probably typed this up. After all, it's in his office. You feel a sense of immense curiosity, and reach for the papers.Time seems to skip, and you feel absolute horror as you step away from the desk, gasping as you hear a voice call out to you."Something troubling you, Samuel?" Brother Blood asks from the doorway, his eyes shifting to the papers on his desk. "It's not polite to go through other people's things without their permission.""S-sorry, Brother," you stammer, trying to make sense of what you just saw.Once again, time seems to skip, and you find yourself backing toward the doorway fearfully while Brother Blood watches from behind his desk, frowning in disappointment as you slowly retreat. "I'd thought that you of all people would appreciate the honor you're being given," Blood tells you as you step ever closer toward the door. "You've always been courageous, loyal, willing to take on any challenge. With this, you'll become truly incredible, Samuel. You'll help bring about a new world, a new universe!""I didn't sign up for anything like that!" you shout, pointing at the papers on the desk. "That's not taking a challenge or a dangerous mission, that's giving up my life! My....""Sacrifices must and shall be made for the greater goal," Blood tells you, stepping around his desk. "I've been assured that the process will be quite painless, and that you'll still be...well, around."Overwhelming terror grips you, and in that moment you turn and run, not looking back, not knowing where you're going. >>2237284>>2237285Supervised deep dives are probably a good idea. Raven might not even be the only option. Getting some science on that shit to monitor our brain activity and other vitals could be useful too.
>>2237268>E. Change your focus to your training. Combat knowledge can be valuable, and probably cause less loss of control
>>2237268>C. Come out of it. Pushing any further could cause you to lose control!>>2237271Who said anything about soon? Admittedly I may have unintentionally implied it. I'm more thinking of it as a long term goal. If we wind up on the Rose route, I'd be hoping to hit the point where the line between sparring and foreplay is fuzzy and ill-defined, determined mostly by context.
>>2237285Going deeper in this particular memory seems unwise. But, you can still find some more information while you're poking around in your repressed memories. Once again, you empty your mind of all thoughts aside from one particular focus. In this case, you choose to focus on your combat training within the HIVE.You find yourself standing back-to-back with someone, surrounded by combat robots and walls lined with turrets. On a balcony above, Brother Blood watches, with three students you can't see clearly standing behind him."Remember to keep moving," you tell the person behind you."I know," Simon's voice returns. "I'll take out the machines if you take out the turrets."You snort. "Right. If you can take out the machines by the time I finish the turrets, I'll eat my blaster.""I'll hold you to that," Simon says just before the combat begins.Pulling your blaster from its holster, you rush toward the machines in front of you, taking a shot at one of the turrets as you run, and putting it out of commission. You then leap into the air, taking out another two turrets before landing on one of the robots. The turrets continue to follow you with their shots, but as you jump from robot to robot, they only damage your foes, leaving you unscathed. In the meantime, you manage to take out about half of the remaining turrets, and one explodes behind you as you land on the ground. "You're welcome!" you hear Simon shout before the sound of a machine getting impaled assaults your ears."Let's make things more interesting," you hear Blood say before your blaster is ripped from your hand. "Hey!" you hear Simon shout, telling you that he's been similarly disarmed. You jump back to avoid a turret shot, then duck as one of the massive training machines takes a swing at you. A back-flip puts you on the machine's head, and it is soon destroyed by the turrets like its friend was. You're then forced to take cover beneath its non-functioning body as the turrets continue to fire on you.A door opens at the far-side of the stadium, and dozens of man-sized machines begin to march in.Perfect.Soon after, you and Simon take out the turrets by hurling the machines up at them. Then, it's a simple matter for the two of you to finish off the remaining foes, your hand-to-hand skills more than enough to deal with these mechanical minions when you aren't under heavy fire. When all is said and done, you and Simon stand side by side in the middle of the stadium, surrounded by scrap metal and ruined robots. The memory begins to fade.>A. Come out of it. You've seen enough>B. Those names you saw in an earlier vision. Who were they?>C. Family in the HIVE. Focus on that>D. The accident
>>2237332>>A. Come out of it. You've seen enough
>>2237332>A. Come out of it. You've seen enoughLet's not leave ourself vulnerable to Blood's attempts at going all psychonauts on us.
>>2237323Perhaps one day, anon. Perhaps one day
>>2237332>A. Come out of it. You've seen enoughYeah, I don't want to get mind raped again.
>>2237332>A. Come out of it. You've seen enoughSo uh... think Cyborg can make us a blaster or something?
>>2237338>>2237339You've seen and learned enough for now, and you worry that staying like this for too long could leave you vulnerable to attack from Brother Blood. So, as the memory fades, you let it go, and open your eyes, returning to your normal state of consciousness. You feel quite tired, but not too much so to function. Still, you decide to rest for a minute before leaving your room. After a few minutes, you step out into the hall and head for the living room.>To be continuedAnd that is where we will call it quits for tonight. As always, feedback is welcome and encouraged, and I will be lurking.I hope everyone had a good time
>>2237370Thanks for running as always. Got a date in mind for next game?Gamewise, I'm both interested and somewhat melancholic about today's revelations about Peter/Samuel's past. Who he is as a person up until today was created largely by our actions, and now we have to reconcile it with something outside of our control. This isn't to say its bad. Its effective writing that its eliciting a feeling that Peter will need to grapple with as well.I hope we're not rushing things too much though. I want plenty more lighthearted chilling with the Titans too.
>>2237377There will be timeHoping to run Wednesday night
>>2237380Also, I don't know if you're interested in /tg/ or not, but yesterday I started reading Masks: A New Generation. Its a Powered by the Apocalypse game explicitly about teen superheroes, inspired, by (among other things), Teen Titans and Young Justice. I'm really enjoying going through it. You might too.
>>2237391I'll keep that in mind. Thank you
>>2236943>When that happens, Titans Tower, and every Teen Titan will be killed.>every Teen TitanMaybe we need to issue a warning to all the honorary Titans to watch their backs? Although realistically, we don't have that much more information than, "Brother Blood is planning... something bad!" so it probably sounds kinda lame.
>>2237421Maybe they'll be safe due to not being real Titans. When they survive they'll have a really depressing party.
>>2237983I for one welcome our new overlord.
>>2237983Incidentally, why are we Samuel/Peter instead of Simon/Peter?
College wifi was down. Will have to postpone until tomorrow, but I'd like to bump the thread by asking what some things you guys want to see are>>2238867Reasons, or lack there of
>>2239245>I'd like to bump the thread by asking what some things you guys want to see are.Darkseid or if we screw things to much a manifestation of Barbatos. Raven's trouble family and Starfires awesome older sister.
>>2239245No worries. Just seemed like an obvious opportunity for significant-sounding biblical references, even if purely for ambiance. You know. Like Evangelion. As for things I'd like to see:In general: Still want to go shopping for gifts, for the five Titans and Jinx and Kid Flash. With Robin: Beyond sparring, I'd like to see Robin teach us martial arts specifically. Forms, movements, and hear his ideas on how we could integrate our powers and fighting style, or if he thinks we should take a different route. We also don't really interact with him much outside of sparring. We should see if we can find a common interest.Beast Boy: Seems like we're doing well with Beast Boy. Maybe next time we hang out we won't fight (and be saved by) villains. We should also see if we can bring out his musical side and jam with him (once we figure out what, if any, instruments KC can play). Maybe we could consult him for gift shopping ideas.Starfire: I look forward to us flying with her again. She owes us a race/game of tag. Maybe afterward followed by a sky-borne heart to heart. She's an alien. We're alienated from our past, only connected to our culture through feelings and hazy memories. Could be interesting.Cyborg: I'd like for us to have a deeper chat about Brother Blood at some point. Both hearing his take on their past, commiserating, and discussing strategy. Also, solely based on the fact that Cyborg can sing in TTG, I'd like to recruit him into our music project.Raven: I'd like to do some chaperoned dives into our mind and memories, Nevermore style. If it gets tangled up with her own memories and Kid Crimson has an opportunity to get to know better, great. Also, I'd like for us to hang out outside of the context of heroing or Kid Crimson's problems. If and when we do gift shopping, maybe we could try buying some scary movies and tea for her and watching them together.
>>2239245An opportunity to spar with Bestgi- I mean Batgirl.I think it'd be interesting to see how she handles our powerset, since she often struggles against opponents whose actions she can't predict based on movement.Would be good practice for both of us. We get better at fisticuffs, she gets better at fighting opponents who can cheat.
>>2239333>DarkseidAnon, are you sure about that?>>2239384Well, Robin enjoys videogamesBB might not be interestedYou and Starfire could make very good friendsCyborg would be more than willing to shareGood luck
>>2239565>Implying Peter won't reveal patterns that Cass will pick up on after a few minutes at most.
>>2239333You really don't want Darkseid. That's Omega Weapon, secret universe ending boss shit.
>>2239590That reminds me of a potentially fun trick we could pull against Robin (and theoretically Batgirl). Does our flight have any visible signifiers? A colored aura, etc?If its completely subtle, we could use flight not to fly but to move ourselves through space without moving a muscle. A punch that is meant to hit us comes up centimeters short because we backed up with our flight. An attack that would seem overextended is perfectly spaced because we moved ourselves forward in time with it. Just subtle little movements that really mess with the opponent's rhythm and sense of distance.
>>2239590Forcing us to adapt again, forcing her to adapt to our adaptation, forcing us to adapt to her adaptation to our adaptation...We evolve beyond the person we were a minute before. Little by little, we advance with each turn.
>>2239590Too right. To beat someone like her like that, we'd need to be able to do everything we do, at a higher degree and with no physical movements. All mental. That's a damn good benchmark though.
>>2239606Nope, no aura>>2239613You are nowhere near ready to reach that level
>>2239606>>2239634I think you just cooked up our endgame fighting style, anon.
>>2239637I play in a Mutants and Masterminds game where my character's only powers are flight and martial arts. I've had opportunities to get creative.Piece by piece we could assemble a devastating fighting style with just the four powers we currently have. Its just a matter of studiously refining them and integrating them into our mundane techniques.
>>2239647>>2239637Not bad, anons, not bad at all
>>2239600Where would you rank Darkseid compared to villains like Sinestro, Trigon, The Citadeli, and so on?
>>22397111. Trigon2. Darkseid3. Sinestro?. Who the fuck are the Citadeli?
>>2239736A race of slavers that other races like the Gordonians work for. Also, was your rank in terms of power, or in how interesting they are?
>>2239739That was in terms of power. In terms of how they interesting they are, personally I'd rank them like this:1. Sinestro - He's a well rounded character and has very human motives.2. Darkseid - He's interesting because he's threatening. His pursuit of power, domination and the anti-life equation are sort of hit and miss in terms of interest.3. Citadeli - mostly because I don't know anything about them and that's potentially interesting.4. Trigon - He's potentially interesting but also kind of only has the one storyline, and its also Raven's one storyline. After Trigon was defeated, he should be left way way way in the background so Raven can develop as a character outside him.
>>2239739>>2239751Oh, and in terms of how interested I'd be in seeing them in this game:1. Sinestro2. CitadeliPower gap3. DarkseidPower gap4. TrigonIf you do the Citadeli then maybe 'Season 7: Starfire finally gets a season after being bumped twice in favor of new Titans'
>>2239754I will make sure to have some things go on for Starfire
I am planning to run tonight
>>2240241I am ready
And we're back, working on update
Beast Boy, Cyborg, and Starfire are still searching when you step into the common room, with Cyborg sitting at the computer, and both Beast Boy and Starfire standing over him as he types away."Okay, I'm finding a few biblical passages that match with what Kid Crimson gave us," Cyborg tells the other two, not seeming to notice that you've entered the room. "There's Acts 20:7, which doesn't make any sense, but there are two others that might have something to do with it.""Go on," Starfire encourages. "We are listening most closely.""Brother Blood never really struck me as a religious guy," Beast Boy tells the other two, leaning on the console. "You sure this is what we're looking for?""No, but it's the best I can find so far," Cyborg replies, still staring at the screen. "Alright, Revelation 20:7. When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison."That sounds pretty bad. If he's planning something like summoning the devil, then you can understand being freaked out when you learned of it."Then, there's Jeremiah 20:7," Cyborg goes on. "You deceived me, Lord, and I was deceived; you overpowered me and prevailed. I am ridiculed all day long; everyone mocks me.""What would that one even mean?" Beast Boy asks."I'm not sure," Cyborg admits. "But if there's one thing Blood's good at; it's deceiving people. And he's definitely arrogant enough to call himself Lord.">>A. "I don't like the sound of either one of those.">>B. "I haven't been able to find out what 20:7 means, but I was able to dig up some memories. Whatever it was, it was enough to make me run from Blood.""So you really did work for him before?" Beast Boy asks, turning toward you as he leans against the console. It sure looks that way. While you still aren't sure that you can trust the memories you dug up, you suspect that they're the real deal. Combine that with Simon, whose familiarity you can't shake, and who seemed completely sincere about wanting to help you, and it seems apparent that your past life was spent with the HIVE."I think so," is all you answer, not going into more detail."Alright, then we know Blood's planning something bad," Cyborg speaks up. "Which we knew before. It looks like it could connect to biblical passages in some way, but we don't know if it does, or which it would connect to. We know it was enough to scare someone that was on Blood's side into ditching him, and that it involves destroying us. Enough for us to know that this is seriously bad, but-""But nothing to tell us what this seriously bad thing is?" Beast Boy interrupts."This is most troubling," Starfire remarks, crossing her arms over her chest and grabbing the opposite shoulders. "I only hope that we discover what the Brother Blood is plotting before it is too late.""Don't worry so much, Star," Beast Boy tells her in a reassuring tone. "Whatever he's doing, we'll handle it.""BB's right," Cyborg tells her, getting up from his seat. "We always pull through."Starfire gives them a small smile. "I know, but there is always much suffering before we do the pulling through. I am fearful about any of you getting hurt by whatever is going to happen.""We're super heroes, Star," Cyborg tells her, placing a hand on her left shoulder. "It's all part of the job.">>A. "Neither has Raven, though I suspect she will continue searching for some time.""For now, there's not much we can do except wait," Cyborg tells you.Waiting doesn't much pay off. Robin tells everyone to call it quits for the night a few hours later, and Raven reports the next day that she found pretty much the same thing as Cyborg."I think the line from Revelation is the more likely connection," she says while fixing herself some tea. "Maybe Blood's trying to summon some kind of demon, or the devil could be whatever he was trying to do with you and your old friends. There's just not enough information yet. We'll need to be patient."The next few days pass peacefully enough, and you spend some time at the arcade with Beast Boy (thankfully not being ambushed on the way home this time), help Cyborg in the garage, spar with Robin, and meditate with Raven and Starfire. You clash against the others in video games and eating contests, and spend some nights watching movies as a team. It's a bright day now. Lovely weather, and you feel perfectly relaxed. >>2240759>>2240766It seems like a good day to go for a walk around the city. While the others attend to their various activities, you head outside and fly over the bay, landing in the city and starting your walk. You have your costume on in case anyone saw you fly in, or in case there's some kind of trouble you have to deal with during your trip. You hope that today will be peaceful, but you never know how these things will turn out. It's a weekday, so most of the kids are at school, and many of the adults are working. Places that might be packed on the weekends should be far more manageable today than usual.Where will you go?>A. Arcade>B. Movie theater>C. Video store>D. Department store>E. Electronics Store>F. They've done so much and been so wonderful to you, and you want to show them that you appreciate it. You make a mental note to find something for Kid Flash and Jinx as well, since they were the first ones to come to your rescue. You suppose that, one by one, you will have to decide what to get everybody. Or, you can go through store by store and see what you want. First, you enter the video store, which offers a massive selection of movies and shows. You see a horror film about a shape-changing monster that feeds on fear, a comedy spoofing Clash of the Planets and Warp Trek, An action film about a retired mercenary on the run from a group out for revenge, a racing film where competitors fight for a hundred-thousand dollar prize, a romance film about a man and woman who grow up together and fall in love, a musical about singing cats, and a DVD box set of Clash of the Planets.>>A. There might be a book store where we can find something for Raven?
>>2240928We could get more than one thing per person. A Clash of the Planets box set is going to be substantially more expensive than single movies. So getting Raven a horror movie, a book, and maybe some tea would be reasonable.
>>2240891>AUnlike Robin we are working with limited budget over here
>>2240912>>2240918You decide to buy the horror film for Raven, the musical for Starfire, and the Clash of the Planets Box Set for Beast Boy. The Box Set is somewhat expensive, but overall, you don't spend an insane amount. Once the movies are paid for, you leave he video store and look for someplace else to go. Walking the mall, you soon come across a home goods store offering appliances, cookware, decorations, pillows, blankets, and so on. Hockey equipment, football helmets, baseball bats, cups, mouth-guards, and so on.You notice cleats at a decent price, and packs of deodorant. There are stations with instructions for various stages of creating a stuffed animal. Most of the customers seem to be children, or women that look to be either mothers or expecting, presumably there to make a gift for a young child. It's not a place you would typically come into, but you know Starfire will love whatever you can make for her here. Now, what to make....>A. An orange teddy bear>B. This is something you've never done before (you think), so you have some trouble, but you mostly manage to accomplish what you set out to do. Soon, you have two stuffed animals somewhat resembling Silkie. It's not exactly an uncanny likeness, but it's good enough that it will be obvious what they're supposed to be. You make your way there, carrying your small hoard of gifts for your friends, and have a look around to see what sort of books they have that she might like. Most of it doesn't look very good; cliche romance novels, some junk for the dumbest of teens, cookbooks, the mayor's autobiography. You do see some that she might like. >>2241492>>2241493You decide to buy Raven a book on urban legends, taking it up to the register, paying for it, and putting it in your bag along with everything else you've bought so far today. "Well, Kid Flash...dude's always hungry," Cyborg tells you. "You could order him a pizza, or buy him a gift card to a fast food joint and he'd be happy.""Jinx is a little harder....." Robin tells you, seeming at a loss.Starfire gasps and drops from the call, and after a few more minutes of brainstorming, the others do the same. That's when you notice that a text message has been sent to your communicator (you didn't know that was a thing, but okay). "Tell no one. Jinx likes unicorns."You're pretty sure you knew who sent this.Going to the music store, you find pretty much what you saw in the last one; CDs, records, some cassettes, some music books, and, it looks like there might be an instrument or two on sale. >>2241698I am not surprised
>>2241619>Raven winning by that muchDid you guys choose her because she's best girl, or because you think she's the best waifu choice for Peter?
>>2242166At first I wasn't going for her purely because she's been "won" before in other quests, but I can't help but feel like they connect a lot because of certain similarities. I didn't actually vote yet but I could easily see why she'd be winning
>>2242166So to answer your question, it's because she's best choice for peter so far, not because she's necessarily my favorite of the group.
>>2242166Although Raven IS the best girl, i didn't vote for anyone this time. But i must be honest that so far she has the better chemistry with Peter.
>>2242166Starfire and Raven are both objectively the best girl.Regarding the Peter Bowl, I'll disagree with some people and say that Starfire and Peter have just as good chemistry as Raven and Peter, even though they've interacted less. You can chalk that up to the fact that Starfire gets along with everyone, but it remains true. While Raven seems to like and respect us (and we even made her laugh when we messed with the boys during initiation), I think anything other than just letting the friendship unfold in whatever way feels most natural would only backfire. I think Spellbound probably left her reflexively wary of flattery and overt romantic gestures. She was also particularly hard hit by Terra's betrayal. Even if she doesn't believe we'd willingly turn on the Titans, our mind is a dangerous black box and she knows it.

We're back, working on update
Carrying all of this stuff through the city isn't very easy, and it's far from inconspicuous. A costumed man carrying bags definitely draws some looks from civilians, but nobody seems to think that you just committed a robbery or anything. Most of them probably still don't know that you're one of the Titans, but you guess that you don't much look the part of a super villain. With so many eyes on you, it's somewhat surprising that you're able to tell that someone's watching you in a very different way. But, the feeling is there, and you stop to take a look around, spotting a single eye peering at you from a nearby alleyway. Its owner takes a step forward, and you quickly recognize him as the one that saved you the other day.Slade.Once he's sure you've seen him, he gestures for you to follow, and turns around, calmly walking back into the alley.>A. We got chastised for letting a HIVE agent into the tower. Now we're going to follow bad news into an alley?
>>2243373I mean, he saved us, so it's the least we could do.
>>2243384We don't know his motives. I agree that this will probably be okay, but its not the prudent move. We showed good judgement by sticking with Moth during the tower repair, even if it wasn't the most heroic seeming move. Likewise, I say we ignore him now, report to the Titans, and cook up a strategy for when he next approaches us.

>following Slade fucking Wilson into an alleywayWelp...Depending on the writer we may or may not be fucked. If it's one of the "kind of honorable in his own fucked up way" writers, we're good. If it's not, we'll wish we had bought lube.
>>2243433This is a boner move yeah. Its not like the whole 'Slade is involved' plot point would evaporate if we made a tactical retreat and planned for a future meeting.
>>2243417>>2243369>>2243366>>2243362Against your better judgement, you follow Slade into the alleyway, finding it empty save yourself, with a dead-end ahead of you, and no sign of the man that lured you in here. You set your things down, and prepare yourself in case this is some sort of trick. But, with what the others have told you about Slade, you doubt you can handle this even when prepared."You're a very trusting young man," a voice tells you, though you can't figure out from where. "Vouching for Killer Moth, letting a HIVE agent into your tower, and now following a dangerous supervillain into a dark alley on your own. You're lucky this naivety hasn't been the death of you, but I doubt that will last."You hear movement, and turn to see Slade drop down into the alley, blocking the only way out. "You're very fortunate that I've only come to talk," he tells you, and his tone tells you just how little of a threat he considers you. "Kid Crimson, was it? We share a common interest; neither one of us want to see Blood succeed in his plans."Well, he's right about you not wanting Blood to succeed, but what does he care? None of the Titans want Blood to accomplish...whatever he's trying to accomplish. Wait, does Slade know what it is?"I'm not sure what Blood's ultimate plans are, but I do know that he's dangerous to you and your precious team, as well as my own plans for this city," Slade continues while you have your internal contemplation. "That's why I'm offering an alliance of sorts. I have information that can point you in the right direction to learning more about Blood's plans."This seems strangely generous. Why would he work with his mortal enemies? Does he see Blood as that big a threat? And if he has information to work off of, why is he offering it to you rather than investigating on his own? You also don't like the sound of Slade having his own plans for the city."You don't think I'm being entirely truthful with you," Slade guesses without you needing to say a word. "Good. I was worried that you lacked any basic instinct in regards to trust. I am withholding information for now, but here's a bit of it for free. Brother Blood wants you captured. Kardiac was only the beginning, and I can assure you, he does not even approach the deadliest weapons Blood has in his arsenal.">>A. "I figured that on my own. "You want something.""Of course I do," he replies, placing his hands behind his back. "I want Brother Blood annihilated. He's been something of an irritant to me for quite some time, but now it appears that he's risen to become a threat. The help of you and your friends would make Blood's destruction easier, in more ways than one."He brings his hands back to his sides and takes a step toward you. "Blood's a secretive man, but his followers are far more loose-lipped. You're quite the topic of interest among the HIVE these days, Samuel. You were a very important person there, and a key piece in Brother Blood's plans. The simple fact that you're no longer with him has set his plans back considerably."He stops. "However, you could be an even greater help in thwarting that pest by telling me what you know about his plans."So that's it? He thinks you know all of the answers?"I've heard about the loss of your memories," Slade tells you, seeming to react to the look on your face. A book and a DVD, nothing huge, but hopefully she'll appreciate them nonetheless. With the other gifts tucked safely away in your closet, just to be safe, you step out into the hall and make your way over to Raven's room, finding her door closed (no surprise there). You give a knock, and after a short bit, the door opens partway, enough for you to see some of Raven's face, and for her to see out into the hallway. You aren't really sure why she does this. Does she expect one of her friends to attack her? Is there something in there she doesn't want anybody to see? Nah, you never saw anything like that when you were in there. Maybe she's worried about a surprise stank ball attack from Beast Boy and Cyborg. That makes some sense.Raven doesn't say anything, waiting for you to state your business for being here. "I got you these," you tell her, holding up the book and the DVD you bought for her. Raven cocks an eyebrow, letting the door slide open the rest of the way. Didn't Robin lecture us not five minutes ago on exactly this? What, is this some elaborate anon plot to troll Brother Blood by trusting literally every super-villain except for him?I mean, I guess we have an excuse due to amnesia and thus not really understanding that people can't be trusted, but I'm still not looking forward to seeing where Robin is on a scale of one to mad.Seriously, if we're gonna follow the candyman into the candyvan every time, then why the fuck didn't we stick with Blood? Well, maybe whatever we saw Blood planning just freaked us out that much that we remembered he's totally evil even through the memory wipe.I wonder if Sam thought Blood was a genuinely good person in the past, and then finding that plan shattered that delusion? Actually, yeah, that makes sense, and it lines up with what Slade said. We may be repressing memories of betrayal. Would that cause us to be more trusting?

She has the same expression as usual, but you can tell that her next words are genuine."Thank you."Raven returns to her room, and you return to yours, next retrieving the gifts for Starfire and Silkie, whom you find in Starfire's room, where the alien girl is feeding the larvae creature lunch. You knock on the open door, and Starfire looks up, inviting you in.When you hand her the gifts you got for her, her eyes light up (figuratively), and she gasps with happiness, giving you one of her patented bone-crushing hugs before taking them. You give Silkie his, and he sniffs it before looking up at you happily."These are most wonderful!" This prompts you to return to your room, grab the video game you bought Cyborg, and return to the living room, where you present the gifts you got for your friends."Woah... Road Fighter Six!" She sees you as a friend.Silkie: Likes that you let him cuddle with you, and that you got him a present. Likes you.
>>2244422Are we locked into the Silkie route?
>>2244422Well, we're gonna take a hit with Robin. Maybe the others if he tells them. Hopefully we get away with some manual labor and all is forgiven.>>2244448Clearly not yet.
>>2244455They kept Beast Boy around after he put a virus in Cyborg, and Raven when she unleashed a dragon in the tower. Oh, and also that time Beast Boy turned into a dick after fighting Adonis. Or both Beast Boy and Starfire when they got Silkie. Also that time Cyborg ditched the team to join Titans East. And that time Beast Boy got them sucked into the TV when they were trying to pull Control Freak out. And Robin after he pulled that "Red X" shit. And Raven when she lost control and almost killed Doctor Light and a child.
>>2244473Well when you put it that way...
>>2244473Oh you misunderstand. I'm not worried about being punished or kicked out. I'm worried about disappointing people. JUST LIKE REAL LIFE
>>2244477You may get yelled at/ receive some sort of punishment, but nobody on the team is perfect, and they do not expect perfect from you
>>2244488I feel your pain, anon. I too know what it is like.
>>2244422Oh, also, while Robin will question our judgement further if we come clean, at least we reinforce our honesty, once he gets over his annoyance. It also plays into the obedient streak we had as a HIVE member.
>>2244511True, but don't feel like you have to take character traits just because Sam had them when he was part of the HIVE. He's a different person now.
>>2244520Should we go by Samuel or Peter then? I like Samuel for HIVE, and Peter for Titans. And I like the idea that they're both the same and different people. We're polite, and conscientious. We value our integrity and work hard, sometimes pushing ourselves too much. We're competitive, but we know when to gracefully admit defeat. We're capable of making good strategic decisions and bad tactical ones. This is the shared essence between the two. What makes Samuel and Peter different people is there experiences, and those experiences imbue them with different priorities and loyalties, and somewhere in the back of his mind, Peter might be afraid that regaining all his memories might mean he'll no longer be Peter. And that's not an idle fear. He wouldn't be Samuel, he can't be, unless he loses the new memories he's made, but he wouldn't be just Peter anymore, he'd be a third person, and he has no way of knowing if he'd like being that person.
>>2244533True.Also, Samuel was his birth name. Peter was the name Blood gave him at some later point. Your call which you prefer.
>>2244537Well don't spoil us. We still don't know if anything we learn about our past is true and that's fun to meI'm satisfied with Samuel pre-accident, and Peter post-accident. It may be a name that Blood chose for us, but Samuel joined Blood. Peter rejected him.
>>2244539Well put.And true, you don't know for certain if your memories are real, but based on them, you were first Samuel, then later Peter
Spoiler question, do we have any talent for playing an instrument or singing? I know Guitar, Drums, and Violin are a no.
>>2244709Crossing my fingers for Bass, the real star of prog rock
>>2245293Good taste. I would also accept a brass instrument.
Thinking on it now, I still believe we should come clean to Robin on the Slade meeting. The best we can do is sell him on the following points:-We had an escape route at all times (Teleportation).-We got a good amount of information from Slade.-We gave him no actionable information.-We directed him to go through Robin. We took a risk, and acknowledge that it was a risk, but it seems to have paid off, as we at least understand Slade's agenda now, and may have set up a framework to move forward against Brother Blood. The most relevant insight into Blood that we've gotten from Slade is here:>Brother Blood wants you captured. Kardiac was only the beginning, and I can assure you, he does not even approach the deadliest weapons Blood has in his arsenal.Blood hasn't abandoned the thought of getting us back, and he doesn't want us dead (at least not yet), despite his big talk at our last meeting.Hopefully that takes the edge off of Robin's disappointment.
>>2245505Supporting this when we have the time
>>2245561Well, he's the only person we haven't given a gift to yet, so I think that's probably going to be at the beginning of the next game. But yes, for next session, in case I'm working when it starts, my vote is going to be:>X. Write In: Report the encounter to Robin without omission, explain your reasoning >>2245505 and acknowledge that it was still a risk you took despite him warning you against taking risks like that.
MoG, when is next game session?
