You are a member of the [ERROR, MEMORY NOT FOUND] Legion of Skitarii. Macroclade 07, 3rd cohort, maniple 01, unit 02, ranger 101. Body and memory appear to be damaged. Surroundings are unfamiliar. Direct uplink to Omnissiah severed. Protocol dictates that uplink must be reestablished as soon as possible.
Welcome to the first installment of Skitarii Quest, where you will control Ranger 101 as he tries to escape this strange place and return to the Omnissiah's voice.Character Sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1rl2umEyvrjSYrNAq6s_sRBshJSljgCQat136XA2bkr0/edit?usp=sharingWe'll be using a simplified version of the FFG 40k RPGs. A roll of 1 is an auto success, a roll of 100 is an auto failure. This is the first quest I've ever ran, let's have some fun.
[ERROR: DAMAGE TO MEMORY CORE DETECTED. DAMAGE TO BODY DETECTED. CONNECTION TO OMNISSAH SEVERED. RESTORING OPTICAL SENSES. RESTORING AUDIO. RESTORING MOTOR FUNCTIONS]You groggily pick yourself off of a dirty floor. You have no memory of how you arrived here. Your last memories date back 2 months prior when your masters last extracted your battle data. You appear to have taken substantial damage to your physical form. You take stock of your current situation. You are in a dark room. Switching on your night vision reveals that the room is a rudimentary workshop. There is a door which leads out of the workshop.Checking your person, it appears that whoever brought you hear has taking nothing. You still have your standard issue galvanic rifle, three power packs for it, your uniform, and your voxcaster, though the voxcaster appears to be broken. The broken machine saddens you. Don't skitarii have fission generators that are incompletely shielded and slowly killing them all the time? They last like a decade, don't they?
You carefully wait for a few seconds as the servitor leaves with the servo skull before skulking out behind it, staying low and far behind. You pass many doors, many of which seem sealed, as well as a junction where the constant musical noise seems to be coming from. However, the servitor does not go that way. You have also noticed several unfamiliar symbols scratched into the walls. There servitor eventually turns and enters into an open room. >>2204570Okay well the lets find that noise contraption.
Following the noise, which, as you close in on the source sounds more like a beautiful hum than any instrument or singing voice, you eventually arrive at a door which bears a modified cog of the omnisiah, with eight spokes emerging from the center. You feel a nagging feeling in the back of your protocol core as you gaze upon the symbol, but push on regardless. The room beyond is a workshop, better lit and outfitted than the one you rebooted in. Power flows through the devices here. In the center of the room is a tech priestess standing above an operating table on which lies another skitarii ranger. You can see the serial number on his robe, 102.As you enter the priestess stops humming and turns to you, surprised. "Oh would you look at that, you're actually alive. I thought you were dead when Jacobs dragged you in here. You're a skitarius, correct? Would you be a dear and hold this for a second?" She pushes something into your hands. It appears to be the type of battle chip which would record your battle data for future examination by a tech priest. After handing you the chip the priestess extends a saw from one of her mechadentrites and begins to cut away at the dead rangers cybernetic limbs. What do you do?> Wait for her to finish.> Insert the memory chip into your own slot> Something isn't right, rebel against your own programing and shoot the tech priestess(wp and bs)> Quietly attempt to leave(ag)> write in

As the tech priestess removes the limbs and various augments from the dead ranger, you stand by, awaiting orders. You are a ranger. You are not an Alpha, you are not a Tech Priest. You are barely above a servitor. It is about half an hour before she finally finishes, placing the last cybernetic piece on a tray she had told you to hold."Well then, that was a good amount of salvage from the dead one. Damn shame that I can't use most of it for myself since the tech priests that made you and him seem to have been more paranoid than most. Do you need anything? Rolled 98 (1d100)You set our from Medusa's workshop, travelling along a corridor filled with the broken and long scavenged remains of several servitors. It is not long before the lights cut out, and you travel along in darkness. The lack of anything gives you time to think. Why did your ship crash into a space hulk? Who is Medusa? What other augmentations was Medusa talking about? What did she put in your head? A strange worry runs over you, not just because you are unsure about what is in your body, but because you just questioned the actions of a tech priest. You eventually emerge from the corridor into a cavernous chamber lit by the glowing engines of some ship lodged far into the ceiling above. The chamber is bisected by a massive canyon in the flesh of the fused ship parts that drops into a seemingly endless abyss. You turn back to close the door to the corridor you emerged from, and see that a message is scrawled upon in"A heretek resides beyond. emperor protect.".This message must be pretty old; Medusa probably killed whatever herek lived in her workshop before she took it over. You close the door then scan the chamber you are in, noticing a thin construction of twisted metal bridging the gap over the chasm, beyond which lies a gaping hole into the hold of another ship. You also notice that there are many corridors jutting into the open air above you, as well as down in the chasm. What will you do?> Cross the bridge and head for the ship's hold beyond.> Climb down the side of the canyon to reach one of the corridors jutting out below.(ag)> Climb up the walls of the chamber to reach one of the corridors jutting out above.(ag x2)> Descend as far as you can into the chasm(ag x3)

You decide to not immediately put on the power klaw. You are unsure what level of tech heresy is would be to use this device, and you were alway taught, well, programmed, to never partake in tech heresy. Except when your commanding tech priest told you to. Or if it was to secure an STC fragment. Or... Wow, where are these weird thoughts coming from? Are these new, or did you always think like this and your wiped memory of the last 2 months make you forget.Shaking those thoughts away, you strap the klaw, a stikk bomb, and some rope to your person and make your way down the left tunnel to where the ork came from. As you walk, you begin to see the markings of an ork camp. Crude drawings, discarded scrap metal, small mushrooms. Eventually you exit the corridor to emerge into a massive chamber carved out of the massive hold of some unknown starship. The corridor seems to have deposited you on the top of a massive torpedo that gives you a good view of the chamber, letting you see the massive conglomeration of scrap metal ork huts.Using your enhanced sensors allows you to get a good view of the crude streets below. Oddly, you see no orks in this ork camp, only the small runty creatures called Gretchin. You can even see mixed into the crowds a few humans! You confirm to your new genestealer friend that he should take the dead infiltrator and yourself. Your are not confident in your own ability to climb out, and you cannot bear to leave a loyal servant of the omnissiah in the hands of a regenerating xenos. The genestealer nods in agreement, and picks up you and the body, making its way to the door on the right, revealing a rickety balcony overlooking a seemingly bottomless abyss. The genestealer turns, jumps to the roof of this canyon clinging shanty, and begins to climb up the hull of the massive freighter that makes up the hull. As the gene stealer climbs, you see the ork, having regenerated from his injuries, stumble out of the shack, look around, and see you and your new friend scaling the canyon wall."Oy ya gits! Git down ere so I cans krump ya!" The ork stands there for a second, seemingly waiting for you to comply, before grunting and heading back inside. You breathe a sigh of relief, finally away from that horrible xenos, now in the hands of a xenos that has seemingly been graced by the omnisah's grace as he grips you with one arm, grips the infiltrator corpse with the other, and scales the hulls of the fused ships with his other set of arms. Speaking of the infiltrator, you notice that there's a stub carbine strapped to his leg, which you take. You observe that it is loaded. Before you can relax and allow the climbing motions of the genestealer lull you into a rest, you hear a noise from below, a repeating chopping noise. The noise grows louder and louder until suddenly, the ork flies into view, piloting a rickety looking deffkopta. "Har has, I gots ya now!" He turns the gun on you.> Open fire with the stub carbine!(bs x 3)> Tell your friend to through you at the ork so you can chainsword him!(ag and ws)> Tell your friend to throw the corpse at him!> Write in

Hmm... I have no idea how to archive a thread. I should probably figure out how to do that.
