You find yourself walking along an old dirt road, heading towards the small township of Oakley. The trees surrounding you rustle as the late afternoon breeze brushes past you. It was close, your quarry was near. Coming to a stop, Soren, the young wolf that had accompanied you on your journey, sits looking at you expectantly. "Thanks for accompanying me, Soren. I can take it from here. You can go now." you say, as he leans into your hand. You can't help but smile a bit as you gently pat his head.As you pull your hand away, the air turns frigid. Soren growls at something behind you, pulling himself into an aggressive stance. You turn, leveling your eyes on a hooded figure standing further down the road, someone who was not there before. Then you feel it. The Abyss surging and your sanity being tested, the figure's form flickering back and forth from man to abomination. Calmly, you take a deep breath, sling your gun off your back, and carefully aim. As the first of the abominations begins its charge towards you, you quickly release half of it, before you pull the trigger. The echo of your gun firing quickens your heartbeat, your barrel quickly shifting to the next one, and then the next one, and then the next one. Out of the corner of your eye, you see Soren rushing towards one of the abominations, viciously tearing at the thing's throat and face. "You should not have come Hunter. Your fate has already been recorded." mutters on of the cultists, as he lashes out at you. Quickly ducking you sweep him off his multiple legs, emptying a few more rounds into his back. "The one in bone will not fall to you." Another says before getting bat away by your stock, catching lead as he falls. Disengaging and reloading, you and Soren stand facing the last remaining cultists, flesh corrupted to serve the horror that stalks nearby. With another breath, you think through your training and you prepare yourself and fire...>Your shotgun at the closest one, hoping the explosive shell you loaded will kill them both.>Your semi-auto rifle at the bone plate protruding on one of them.>Your sniper rifle, hoping to blow the head off one of them.

Two Eldritch quests right next to one another?
You level the crosshair in your scope on the head of the abomination, and pull the trigger. In a splatter of gore, its head pops like a balloon. It's body stumbles forward, colliding into the other one. It's almost amusing as the the headless abomination begins ripping apart his companion, the other helplessly flailing its arms to try and survive. Calmly walking over you pull back the slide on your rifle and let the empty cartridge fall to the floor. "I'm sure you can still hear, so let me tell you something you go meet the Gods you so worship. I make my own destiny." You say as you raise your rifle and fire a shot into the abomination's heart.Gently, you sit down, as Soren joins you. Ruffling his fur for a bit, you look at the carnage that surrounds you, and sigh. "Well, Soren... Time to go." You say, Soren barking once before leaving back the way you entered.Just before you continue on, you spot something that catches your eye. Picking up the slip of paper, you recognise the rune very quickly, a rune of agility. Drawing the dagger you kept in case of close combat, you gently prick your finger, your blood welling in the wound. With a drop, the rune brightens, the the rune turning a bright red. In one swift action, you pick it up and slam it onto your back. You feel the paper burn as the rune binds to your back but as soon as it began, the pain is gone. As you continue your way forward you remember the first time that you performed such a ritual, to enhance yourself, the echoing voice of your mentor helping you up. "Remember child. Their knowledge is now yours to wield."You arrive in Oakley as night begins to settle. People are still walking around and the soft hum of the electrical lights illuminating the streets fills your ears. You would almost have thought that you had come to visit and move on but you quickly remind yourself of your goal. "Right... Information. Mayor wins. Writing.
According to the pamphlet that you brought with you, the tallest building in town was the mayoral office. The white peak roof, the flaking paint and the old stained glass of the building stood as a reminder of the town's past. Somehow, you feel oddly comforted by the old building, but as you are about to enter into the foyer, the doors fly open, a woman quickly storming out. "Jackass..." You hear her mumble as she rudely brushes past you into the night. You have half the mind to follow after her but you needed to get to that meeting soon.Entering into the foyer, the interior almost contradicting the faded exterior of the building. The lush carpet, the fresh look and the swift typing of a keyboard, all helped to remind you that it was 1997. "Ah... You must be here to see the mayor." The receptionist says as she looks up from the screen. Striding over to the desk, and confirming your arrival, you quickly sign in for your visitor pass."Thank you...">Miss (insert name)>Mister (insert name)

Writing for Samuel Carter.
(image is Sam, not the mayor)"Samuel Carter" you reply, quickly signing off on the small clipboard that the receptionist had handed to you. After a short bit of typing, you get directions to the mayor's office. You open the door to a man in his late thirties looking at a picture of a night sky hanging on the wall behind his desk. "You must be the hunter that Reginald raised." He says turning to face you. "My name is Julian and you must be Samuel." You notice the long scars that run down the side of his face, and across his hands, as he extends his hand for a handshake, which you reciprocate. "As you were notified, I believe a horror lies in the local area, and it needs to be slain as soon as possible... Else the town become enlightened to the reality that is." He says, the last part said as he sits down. Pulling out a book and passing it to you, you notice the ominous looking eye that sits in the middle of the cover, the metallic eyelid covering who knows what. "One of the police officers that was working on the case related to this brought that in. Said they found it at a nearby farmhouse."You leave the mayoral office with the book, a map and warning. "Find allies. This horror isn't something from one of your mentor's stories."Where will you go looking?>The Bar/motel>The church

Bar/Motel it is then. Writing.
It has been a long time since you had a drink. An alcoholic drink. It might be a great way to find another hunter wandering through town, and get a final meal, if this your final day on this earth. Walking into the bar, you are greeted to loud cheering and glasses tinkling. The jovial nature of the bar sets you at ease as the smell of pub food and beer reminds you of that trip you and your mentor took when you became a fully fledged hunter. Sitting down at a small remote table, you notice a girl in a cloak that seemed to flutter, despite there being no wind. After you are finished ordering some food and a drink to help ease your worries, you turn back to the table to find her gone. “I couldn’t help but notice… you have a nice vest.” Turning in slight surprise, you found yourself staring at the girl, sitting in the seat next to you. Before you have time to ask why she was here, she continues, pointing to bullet hanging from a chain on your neck. “I also couldn’t help but notice that you’re a hunter.” She begins, shutting you up. Few know of hunters, and fewer can recognise a hunter with just a jacket and an insignia. “Don’t worry, I’m here to help you. Well, not really, since my partner went somewhere else. I was meant to follow after them, you see, but I got terribly lost. I came to this town hoping to find a phone to call them, but I thought that I could do with a drink. And then I found you, and your interesting insignia, so I decided to see what you were up to.” As she says this, she motions to the waitress carrying a plate of food, hand signing how she had moved spots. Just before you could make your move and ask the questions that had begun to build up in your head, she turns back to you and continues bombarding you with more questions. “So, are you here on business, or pleasure? Hunter’s don’t usually take pleasure breaks that often though, so you must be on business. What are you doing here then? An abomination must be plaguing this town… no… your face says that its bigger than that, so a horror must be near. What if it’s a horror, then I can finally show my partner that I’m not just some supporting aid. I can take one down and then show them… You’re my new partner now. You must have a name that I can call you by, I can’t just call you my partner all the time. It must be an interesting name, right, I mean you’re a hunter… Oh, by the way. My name is Beatrice, but you can call me Triss.” Sat there with a confused look on your face as your brain tries to catch up with all that she said, you finally steel yourself to reply.>Tell her your real name.>Tell her a fake name.> “Why would I tell you?”>Just leave. You’re not hungry anymore.

"Call me Sam." You say as Triss is about to continue. You chuckle slightly under your breath, somewhat surprised that the talkative girl was now willing to listen for once. "Yes. I am here for a hunt. In terms of your partner, have no idea where they went, or where they're going so I can't help you with that." You continue, sipping from the beer that you ordered. As you think it through in your head, she seems pretty new to the hunting down eldritch horrors thing, especially if she thinks of it in such a happy-go-lucky sort of way. Even looking at her eat, she's way too childish and ill-mannered. "Let's get this clear. You can come along with me, but when we find your 'partner', I'm dropping you off and heading my own way." You say as you tote your beer glass. "Now please, eat your food with your mouth closed and try not to draw attention to us."As you walk out into the street, Beatrice quickly following in tow, you recollect the gossip you heard as you ate your possibly final meal. A rumour of an old castle, tucked away into the nearby ruin. The previous owner a manic lord obsessed with weird magics and dark gods. As the moon rises to about a quarter through the sky, you prepare yourself for the hunt. "Where are we going first? You mentioned that the Mayor gave you a lead as well?" Triss says, checking the last of her belongings as you both arrive at an old beaten path leading out of town. >To the Farm. Why would they have an eldritch tome at such a mundane place.>The castle. "Why were you found here?" You mumble as you stare at the tome. The metal eyelid was still shut on the front of the book, and through some unknown force, the book won't open. You asked Beatrice, just incase she knew anything that was not a long rambling sentence of the day and how she loves the colour pink, but that didn't work out.As you put it away as you continue down the dirt path leading towards the farm, a quiet whisper fills your ear. "Someone's here... Someone's here... Someone's here..." You pause, Triss bumping into your back as you cock you head, focusing on the sounds and smells that lie in the air."Why did we stop?" Triss begins as a rune in the lower half of your back begins to glow. The sound of feet shuffling, breathing, and the click of a revolver hammer. The smell metal and the faint whiff of gunpowder. Very gently you raise your hands and gently place them behind your head. "Someone's here..." You say, as you turn to see the police officer you passed on your way to the mayor, pointing her gun at you. "To think that the mayor thinks that two complete strangers can deal with a case that the police cannot." She begins, carefully removing a set of handcuffs. As she approaches, what do you do?>Try to explain that she is about to do something that she cannot undo. >Try to get away as quickly as possible.>Show her the time and try to bullshit why you have evidence.>Resign yourself to fate.

"This isn't something that you should be concerning yourself with. The mayor himself set this task for us, and us alone." You begin, in hopes of saving her from the Abyss. "If you continue with what you are doing, you will never be able to go back with the same mindset."As you say that, the whispers return, but this time, with a new message. "The eye... The eye... The eye..." It repeats over and over again until your head is filled with endless chatter and sound, and you collapse, screaming.Just barely through the cacophony, you can see Triss trying to close the book that was now open, a black void sitting in the middle of the open pages, staring back at you. The woman stands over you, confused as all hell as she begins some kind of first aid. You wake to the sight of a huge colossus standing over you. It's body was made of bone and indeterminate flesh. With a grating, raspy voice it speaks to you. "A little hunter has found my eye. Make sure to bring it to me soon." As soon as it's finished a bright red light begins forming in front of you, just as you begin to fall asleep again.Bolting upright, you almost hit your head on Triss' head. You turn to face the police woman from before, who is sitting not too far away, staring at the book which she was now holding. "What the hell just happened?" She begins getting up and quickly rushing towards you, almost grabbing your shirt if it wasn't for a surprised look as she stares at the gun that sat on your back, and then to Beatrice's own gun. "When did you have guns?" She continues, her gun now pointed at your faces. Before anything else can continue, you hear a scream, coming from the direction of the farmhouse you were heading to.Moving quickly, you turn back to shout, "We'll tell you, once we're done." With that you rush towards the farmhouse.(1/2)
Arriving at the farmhouse, you find the bodies of three other woman, surrounded by fifteen or so cultists, all chanting madly, the blood pooling into one of the pig pens. As you arrive they turn, one's head twisting in such a fashion that its upside down. "You're just a little bit too late." One says as a loud snorting sound announces the arrival of a huge pig abomination. Clutched in the arms of one of the cultists is another woman, who's screaming was the one who lured you, you suspect. You draw your rifle and raise it, held in a stand off as multiple cultists turn to face you. "I've got the abomination, take care of the cultists." You shout as you dash behind cover, snapping a shot at the squealing pig. With practiced precision, you line up the shot and fire, but the unexpected happens. As the high powered shot collides with the midsection of the massive abomination, a wave of twenty or so, abominations with fused pig and human flesh crawling out from the stomach. The voices in your head begin screaming, "Let us have fun... Let us have fun...", but as you pulled back the slide letting the next shot into the chamber, you centre yourself and prepare. Off to your right, you see the cultist holding the woman hostage explode in a shower of gore, the woman screaming again as she falls. Then the two cultists next to her fall, then another. You hear the police woman's revolver going off, taking some of the cultists out, followed by a panicked cry as she confusedly fires trying to save herself. When you turn back to the pig, you see it charging towards you, the crawlers in tow. A multitude of runes light up on your back, boosting your speed and agility, the newest rune boosting your previous agility even further. Vaulting off the cover, and then off the hog itself, you have time to line up a good shot on its head as you sail over it, blowing off a portion of its head.As you land, you hear something that surprised you. "For the Light-bound." Cries what you can only describe as a crusader rushes into battle, quickly dealing with the crawling abominations, with another such figure following quickly after. The former of the pair was armed with an arming sword and a short sword, gracefully carving through the first of the crawlers. The later was armed with a longsword, beginning to deal with the cultists, drawing their attention. >Any new battle strategies or do you continue with the plan so far?

The thought almost slips your mind that there were over 20+ crawlers that came out of the pig. In fact, it almost catches you off guard as one almost bites down on your leg. Emptying a round into its head and chest, you quickly back off as two more arrive. Looking over, you fire a shot into the pig, trying to draw its attention back onto you. The crusader with the dual swords quickly finishes up with his crawlers, swiftly moving to punish the piggy as you fire another shot, but as you pull the bolt, the cartridge jams on the way back.As you furiously try to unjam the rifle, you watch Triss and the cop both approach, emptying rounds into the cultists that had begun to recapture the woman. "Get her out of here!" As you're about to turn to face the combat again, a cultist appears from seemingly nowhere, dragging you to the ground. Its jaw unhinges slightly revealing a break of sorts that clamps down into your leg, rending much of the muscle. As you scream in pain, you finally unjam the gun and placing the barrel against its forehead, you pull the trigger, gore splattering everywhere. You can feel the blood seeping out of the wound, and every time you try to get up, pain keeps flaring in your head, but as you try, you hear the voices again. "Give in... Let us have fun... "Fuck off Azra. Later." You yell, pulling a rune slip from one of your pockets, before slamming it down onto your leg. Your entire leg feels like it is beginning to burn up, but as you get up, the leg had fully healed. As you do, you raise and fire your rifle, doming another cultist as both Triss and the cop hurriedly escort the woman away, the cop, still crying(?) confusedly at the situation. Counting, there were only a few crawling aboms, the pig, still engaged with the dual swords crusader, and three to four cultists, engaged with the longsword crusader. A rune glowed bright on your back, as the world seemed to slow for you. In one continuous action, you proceeded to empty every remaining shot you had in your rifle into the piggy and the remaining cultists, sure that crawling abominations were the least appropriate thing to waste bullets on. Each time you racked the slide, the ejected cartridge hung in the air, slowly descending at the same pace as the world around you.As you fired the final shot, the rune on your back fizzled out, and the world speed continued at its original pace. The heads of cultists popped in small explosions, and the pig was blown to bits by high powered round after another. Both crusaders stood in amazement, turning to face you, as you quickly finish off any crawler close enough for you to do so.The moment the adrenaline in your body begins to wear off, the splitting pain from your leg returns, the wound beginning to open itself up as the rune flaked off. The crusader with the two swords catches you, flinging your arm over his shoulder and helping you to begin your walk to your new found party of Triss and the cop. "Are you alright hunter?" He says worryingly, making sure to allow you to proceed slowly. (1/2)
>>2138900Im all better now iv got my big strong hero here
(2/2)As he sets you down, his helmet vanishes like how your gun does when you're not in combat. Looking over at Triss and the cop and the woman, who is still feverishly sobbing, you reply back, "Could have been worse. My best might have been ripped."After a five minute rest break, with you inscribing runes into your flesh as a mother to quickly heal your leg, Triss and the cop, who's name is Alina, calming down the woman, and the crusaders, names Matthew and Darius, going through some bullshit prayer thing that all Order hunters do."Why did you come here of all places?" Matthew, the dual swords crusader, says as he tosses you a bottle of painkillers from one of the satchels that hung from his belt. "This place is just a farm."Pulling the book from your own satchel, the metal eyelid half open, you loft it in front of him. "This was found here. Apparently. And this farm wasn't quite as abandoned as they told me."Quickly flicking through the book, which had now opened to you, only phrases and made any sense. One phrase caught your eye. It was the name of the horror you were hunting, the name you needed to banish back to the Abyss. Bacqdrwlthal, the Boneyard Colossus.Looking up, you look over at the companions with you, and you decide your next course of action.>Press on and try to find more information. >Rest and consolidate information.>Interrogate the woman, and search the farm.>Meditate and try to find your inner self.

You decide you need to rest. You knew that continuing on would healthy, for you and the woman. As much, as hunting down the horror as quickly as possible, doing so without getting long term injuries is preferred, and as such, decided to rest. "You four are going to tell me what the hell just happened." Alina says, sitting down, her head in her hands. "You guys just fought monsters. And murderers and..." She begins, her voice frantic and broken, and confused. "It's okay... Enlightenment is very difficult." Triss begins, plopping herself next to her, her arm gently comforting her. "What you just witnessed are abominations of the Abyss, twisted husks formed to suit the Abyss' plans. We fight to stop them, to save this world, for if we don't, the world as we know it will be destroyed."As Triss continues comforting Alina, take out the map, quickly crossing out the farm's location. As you do so, you carefully stand, moving towards the bodies of the cultists, before quickly rifling through their pockets. You take any rune papers that you find on them, but besides that, there wasn't anything else to find on them.As you finish with them, you hear Azra in your ear, whispering again. "Have a look around... You might find something that could help."Rolls please.

You take a few minutes to scope out the outside of the building. The ground was lifeless and seemed to reject you with each step you took. As you reach the opposite side of the farmhouse, the fields beyond lie dead, and massive craters were scattered throughout it. Each crater, a step. The taking the map, you quickly note down the direction of the Colossus' path.As you return, Alina is... better, Triss is still being mother duck, Matthew is pointing a sword at the woman, Darius is holding him back.
