Last time Captain Wick delivered his delicate cargo, killed space murderbugs, almost bought a Alien Cat girl for 'Science' but ended up buying a Banth instead! We significantly increased our ships defenses and offensive abilities and went on a shopping spree at a arms merchants. Now we find ourselves staring down a rather unhappy Banth armed only with military grade combat armor and a sparky stick. The brass Balls of Captain Wick could be used to anchor a Mining Rig.Captain Iskander Wick>100HpSkills->>Command- +10 to rolls involving leading men or directing ships>Persuasion- Silver tongue +10 to rolls directed towards convincing someone of anything>Infantry combat- you are a trained footsoldier, getting stuck in is second nature to you. +10 to combat rolls on foot. >Gear->Beam Pistol. 1d100 damage. +10 to armored targets. 1d100 accuracy.>Plasma Rifle. 4d100 damage. 1d100 accuracy. The several hundred pound, eight legged predator snarls as it approaches at an angle, its light grey fur bristling along with the meter long black quill's emerging from its upper neck and spine. Its long, tufted tail whips as it crouches low, its four amber eyes slitting as its powerful muscles bunch and coil. You grit your teeth, adjusting your grip on the stun lance."Come on then ya nasty fuck!"The Banth leaps, hooked claws outstretched and massive jaws wide open, ready to maul your tender flesh>Roll me 1d100+10 for your counterattack

Instead of connecting solidly your lance is brushed aside by a swiping paw just as the massive jaws close on your upper arm, scoring gouges into the polymer as you are yanked off balance. The Banth twists its head, yanking you by the arm and attempting to gets its claws into your belly to release your guts to its tender attentions. You react quickly, thumbing the button of your stun lance and collapsing it back into a baton. You grit your teeth for the inevitable pain and ram the sparking end of the baton in the Banth's mouth. The immediate, violent spasm of the oversized muscles in the Banth's jaw and neck flings you both across the deck, rolling unceremoniously you stagger to your feet, your muscles aching and wrist scorched by arc flash. The Banth staggers to its feet, spitting steam before shaking its body and taking several steps in your direction. Its lip curls with the tentative beginnings of a snarl before it ducks its head, twisting to offer a clear stroke at its tender throat.>Banth has submitted to you. Congratulations. >Feed the Banth. The fact that you just threw a asswhipping to a several hundred pound alien apex predator doesnt go unnoticed by you but you decide to seize the initiative. Grabbing a crate marked 'Banth Treats' you open the top to be greeted by the startingly ugly face of a fat, adult Dzizi rat. The round purple rodent squeaks curiously as you pull it out by the tail, its small blue tongue poking between its large buckteeth. "Sorry lil buddy"You mutter as you fling it overhead to the Banth. The Dzizi rats brief foray into flight terminates as its consumed in a single chomp by the eager Banth, a spurt of bright orange blood trickling between its teeth as it crunches happily. You reach down into the crate and withdraw another unfortunate Dzizi rat, the hapless rodent being to witless to even avoid your grasp. You grip it by its long tail and approach cautiously as the Banth licks its chops, eying the rodent eagerly. You toss it underhand from just out of the Banth's reach and with a blur of claws and a single squeak the Dzizi rat is gone like its predecessor. The Banth slurps the tail between its teeth and chews contentedly as you approach, extending a hand carefully. To your surprise it leans into the pet, your gauntleted fingers sliding through coarse Grey fur along the back of the Banth's neck. You scratch the hulking creature behind its tiny ears and it growls happily, plopping onto its side as you commence bellyrubs for a massive alien predator. You didnt even know Banth's could purr honestly. The next few hours pass with you playing fetch with your new pet, throwing a now thoroughly gnawed ball of some thick, hard rubber surrogate. The Banth eagerly returns the ball every time, panting happily and delighting in the chase as it pursues the bouncing hunk of Not-Rubber. You would be content to stay there all day but business calls as your Com-unit pings, Jugnurs deep rumble emerging "Captain! We are approaching Outpost 11-84C. Its time to go to work boss."You grin viciously, throwing the ball one last time and ordering the heavily armored crew to "put him in his cage in a bit"Hopping in the lift you remove your helmet, sliding the polymer disc into your armors internal pocket. Stepping out on deck 1 you wipe off your face of lingering sweat and step into the bridge just as the FTL drive 'thinks solidly. "Lets rock and roll boys and girls! Against using her as a pleasure slave, just offering eventual freedom.Anyhoots onwards: When we next look into a new ship are people thinking frigate class or another corvette?

>>2112760frigate of course. excellent for pirate work. dangerous enough to take anything smaller, fawst enough to outrun anything bigger, decent guns and armor, with increase cargo hold and options. as for the slave yes, if we agreed to release slaves etc we could build alot of surprisingly loyal followers.......too bad weed rather have a cat girl slave.....with big tits. were classy like that.

The station seems to be lightly occupied, as most outpost stations tend to be. The Frigate seems... Odd for a merchant frigate. You duck your has as a beam of blue light lances past your head, burning a glowing hole into the bulkhead behind you. You settle your sights on the perpetrator, a armored Rkkkrtkkki low caste armed with a long barreled beam rifle. You squeeze the trigger and a bolt of bright white plasma arcs from the end of your plasma rifles barrel. The blast of energy impacts like a hammer, driving him back against the wall with a flaming hole punched through the center of his chestpiece, his four arms going limp as he collapses backwards. Your crew advance under covering fire, several falling or being thrown back by kinetic pulse fire but most of the weapons fire glancing from their heavy armor. A particularly brave Vaurang crewman leaps over a barricade and lays into the security team around him with a long bladed axe, painting the ceiling and walls with gore from several races. Rithik bounds past you, a buzzing fusion sword in one hand and his heavy kinetic pistol in the other. Using his races natural agility he bounces off the walls and lands in the midst of his opponents, opening bellies and throats and pulping skulls with point blank shots. His rampage nearly comes to an end however when a well placed kinetic shot throws him backwards into a wall but the iron willed Gaoian bolts right back into the fray, fangs bared. You advance alongside your men, ducking under shots and taking cover where you can. Just as you lean into a doorway to take cover it hisses open, a green scaled Corvesh standing on the other side. You regard each other in shock before he lunges, fangs and claws ready to rend your flesh. You meet him with the butt of your plasma rifle to his jaw, sending him sprawling with thick ,dark blood leaking from shattered teeth. He scrabbles to rise and you end his attempt with a bolt of plasma to the shoulder. He collapses backwards with a screech as his arm is violently severed. The separated limb lands several feet away from its former owner, the stump smoking and sizzling. The Corvesh falls limp as the agony is too much for him, boiling blood leaking from the stump of his shoulder. "KILL YOU!"What the fu->cont
>>2117983You stagger as a impact to your side slams you against the wall, a massive hand gripping your helmet and slamming you facefirst into the wall before pulling you back. It seems that Corvesh wasnt alone and his Ulakir companion is more prepared. You grunt in pain as the hulking, vaguely simian alien slams his grav-hammer into your gut, nearly shattering your ribs even through the armor. You duck your head and tuck your arms, lashing out with your free hand and catching him straight in the eye. His rounded head barely even twitches and your knuckles throb.Fuck.You find yourself flying across the room (some sort of bunkroom you suppose) before you land ingloriously on a metal table. You roll off of the piece of unlucky furniture just as it is crushed flat by the enraged xeno. You roll again and again, avoiding more blows that dent the floor beneath them before popping to your feet, just in time to take a punch to the helmet that nearly cracks the polymer. You land flat on your back, your outstretched arm landing on something familiar and sorely missed. The Ulakir stands over you, hefting his grav hammer overhead"Kill You!"He grunts in his native tongue, probably one of the few sentences he knows. His downward swing is cut off by a bolt of plasma that liberates his limited brains from his far too spacious skull. You look upwards through the smoking hole through the center of his ugly face, the ceiling clearly visible through it and sigh in relief."Not if I kill you first bub">Captain wick= 86/100hp 40Armor>16/21 boarding party remain>assist your men in clearing the enemy out of that position >Try and flank around them>Go commando, try to get to the bridge.

The heavy two handed hammer fits neatly onto your back and you heft your plasma rifle again. Time to work. You lean out into the corridor and duck back as a flechette burst nearly buries itself in your face. The security team is being overwhelmed by your more heavily armed and armored crew, your men laying into them with fist, claws and blades. >Pull some precision shots from here.>Get stuck in. You groan in exasperation as the thrashing melee prevents you from getting a clear shot at anyone. You slot the plasma rifle on your back and draw your newly acquired gravhammer. You thumb the depressed power button and the tiny reactor inside the jagged head hums into life, powering the tiny gravity generator that gave the hammer its name.Time to get measy. You heft the hammer over your shoulder and wade into the melee, avoiding claws, axes, swords and batons of various makes and styles. A howling Gaoian crewman bounds past, sinking his fangs into a braying Rkkkrtkkki's throat. A burly brown scaled Corvesh grabs the berserk Vaurang warrior from behind only for the agile and freakishly strong xeno to backflip over him and quite literally rip his head off on the way over. A screeching Gaoian rushes you with some sort of jagged dagger in its clawed hands. You backstep and dodge a flurry of rapid slashes and thrusts before adjusting your grip on the hammer and stepping into your swing. The inertial sensors in the grav hammer respond, funneling energy into the gravity generator and lending the blow hundred of pounds of force. The Gaoian nearly dodges the heavy swing, being caught instead in the hip and thrown across the corridor. He impacts with a wet thump and a crunch, numerous bones obviously broken.A light blue Rkkkrtkkki, probably an officer of some sort, attempts to draw and fire his beam pistols directly into your face. You slam his weapons aside with the butt of the hammer and counter with a vicious low sweep that pulps his upper left shoulder. He collapses backwards, braying in agony as shards of bone poke through the skin. All around you resistance is crumbling as the less equipped, trained and motivated Security team is slaughtered by your well equipped, bloodthirsty crew. However, some pockets of heroism remain. A massive Chehnash, his armor and polymer shield decorated with numerous bars and dashes (signs of a high ranking security officer) slashes downward with a hissing fusion edged axe that sends one of your human crewmen tumbling back in pieces. You grit your teeth and roar in fury as you charge, hammer hefted high as you barrel through the press. Not your worst idea today.>Cont
>>2120247The seven foot amphibian turns to face you just in time to be rocked backwards by a colossal blow that sends spiderwebs of cracks across his pristine armor and throws him backwards into the wall, a sizable dent appearing in the metal. He staggers to his feet just as you swing again, the blow barely being caught by the Chehnash's polymer shield. His mottled, toadlike face contorts in a grimace of pain as the bones of his forearm crack under the blow. You leap backward as the officer surges forward, his axe hissing by your face in a series of brutal swipes. You take the initiative as he winds back for a overhead blow and launch one of your own, the gravity generator lending your swing massively increased weight. The head of your hammer hooks the haft of his axe, bearing him down at an angle as he attempts to keep a grip on the weapon. You greet his sudden introduction to your height level with a tooth rattling headbutt that sends him reeling back only for your low level sweep with your newfound hammer to hook his ankles and send him tumbling backwards. You wind up your swing and are greeted to the terrified confusion on the Chehnash's face before you cave in his chest with nearly a ton of force. You pant slightly as you realize the fighting around you has died down, the remaining security team members laying down their arms, your men watching them warily. You hit the button of your helmet and the faceplate slides backward allowing you to spit a wad of red tinged saliva on the floor and lean on the your hammer like a walking stick."Now... Lets get to business "You say calmly, stepping over the corpse of the Team leader and drawing your beam pistol in one motion, pointing it directly in the face of the barely conscious Rkkkrtkkki officer."You. Ship details, Cargo, Answers. Now." you growl shortly, priming the pistol against the dazed Xeno's forehead."Wh-wha..? This one... This one...">Fuck this. Shoot him. Just as your finger almost finishes depressing the trigger the Rkkkrtkkki breaks"Wa-WAIT! This one- this one will talk! Tell this one... Tell this one what you desire to know! Please! You have control of automatic countermeasures since dipshit over there with axe has relinquished command right?"You ask, receiving a terrified nod in response "Why are they still active then?"You snarl, pressing the barrel in for emphasis. This one was urged to not ask questions about the cargo. We all were. It is something of significant import to the Dominion Military council and they desired.... Subtle transport."You snort. Nothing is secure with dominion trade lanes. Smugglers and pirates could find out what was on a ship before it even left port. Your surprised you were the first one here honestly. You sigh... You'd hoped for more details."The remaining security forces. Any way you would be able to convince them to stand down?"You ask pointedly, gesturing around "My men would get tired killing them all and I am a VERY busy man."Your voice has become easy and conversational as you prod the Rkkkrtkkki to obey. For a moment you think hell make the suicidal decision to object when a second voice crackles from his wrist computer"That will not be necessary. I, Captain Thekr of the Far Wanderer , surrender my vessel and crew. No more violence is necessary captain. If you would please come to the bridge where I may formally concede to you"The voice is dry, nasal and with a hint of sullen condescension mixed in. You frown unhappily. Fucking Corti.>No. YOU are coming to me while my men secure that station and the cargo.>Sure. Ill come to you.>Bring me the cargo and I may let you live

You cut off the irritatingly smug voice on the other end with your counteroffer. Stomping on the Rkkkrtkkki's leg you lean close and say coldly over the squeal of pain."No. You are coming right here. To me. My men will board that station and secure that cargo and if ANYBODY gives us any trouble then I will start executing prisoners. Painfully."The dry voice on the other end of the line sighs before responding."I suppose that is fair. I will be along with the utmost haste Captain. Please, there is no need to resort to such.... Barbarity."Your eyelid twitches as the Corti severs the connection. Somehow, even in defeat Corti manage to sound like they were talking to unpleasantly stupid children. You send a detachment of heavily armed and suitably bloodstained crew to secure whatever the hell most of these men died for. You lean on a barricade and clean scraps of flesh from your grav hammer with a small screwdriver and wait for your meeting with the other captain. A door on the far end of the corridor opens and a slender, gray skinned figure steps through followed by a heavyset Rkkkrtkkki and a terrified looking Qvorth. The Corti's bulbous head and large black eyes appear oversized for its thin, genderless grey skinned body. The small procession stops a short distance away and the Corti approaches, his slender three fingered hands held up in the universal sign of surrender. He looks at you in obvious contempt and sighs heavily "Here I am captain. Here to offer my... Formal surrender of the Far Wanderer."His nasal, slightly high pitched voice grates on your nerves as the diminutive alien regards you like some kind of dangerous animal. Which you suppose you are to him.You regard your Grav hammer with feigned interest and refuse to grant the Corti the measure of your full attention. You can literally feel the impotent rage boiling from him.>How do you respond to him.

You move deceptively fast for someone wearing heavy armor and pistol whip the annoying Corti so hard you send several small, flat teeth skittering across the floor, light blue blood clinging to the roots. The Corti collapses, out cold as you plan a boot on his chest and regard his now thoroughly cowed crew. You have their full and undivided attention now. Time to use your captain voice "Listen up! Your captain Thekr here has surrendered your ship to me and with it your lives. You belong to me now so if you don't want to die then behave and you probably won't."With that your men begin bundling the prisoners up and securing them carefully. >>2124035Fucking seriously make crits 1 or 100, a 20%+ chance of it happening is stupid
>>2125117i think typical is 5% and 95% that way its a toal 10% chance, like on a d20.
>>2125117>>2125146So does -5 and 95+ work? Or do you guys think I should do strict 1's and 100's.
>>21254131s and 100s mate otherwise it's a 1 In 20 chance which it too high for for a critical fail/success
>>2125413I'm with bob that the dynamic range makes it more interesting.I think 1 and 100 should warrent a little extra...zazz.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecns_W9q_s0With that said, some situations stack the odds against you, so even crits might not mean shit other than an impressive last stand. So I guess what I am trying to say man, is, maybe a little more Zazz. ya know?
Why did the baddleship blow up the station? It was hailing us so it knew we where there. If it wanded to cut off all loose ends it would have made more sense to start with the things that was moving and leave the immoble station to later.
>>2124800No benis, just no.Catgril slave gf is for being sexy af and our bodyguard
>>2125549Unless time is a factor, and other helpers could have found (more) stuff our Battleship Buddies don't want found.
>>2125789>>2125549lots of unknowns, to include that not even being a friendly force/ faction that took out the station.
So how likely is it that the hunters will be able to kill the battleship.
>>2125832Unless an entire Swarm Ship dropped on their ass highly unlikely. The hunters were just a distraction for your escape and a form of highly mobile target practice for them
>>2124756Thanks for running. When are we gonna do this again?
>>2125932Most likely later today. About 4-5pm is when im gonna be able to run reliably.
>>2125933Cool.Also,what happened to all your previous quests?1.Ancient Evil2.Xenomorph Quest3.Gunslinger Quest4.Undead Quest5.Both Shellstorm QuestsThey were all amazing but they no longer exist.I mean, you lost an eye and all but still. At this point i'm worried the same will happen to this Quest too.
>>2125940Lot of em to into stasis or get treated as a cool one off with other qms. Burn out also happens, though xrnomorph quest probably one had 1 more arc in it.
>>2125940Got burned out on them. I started strong with them but lost that spark with them. Im not planning to ditch this one as Ive actually got a serious world built for it instead of flying by the seat of my pants. Those quests aren't kill either, I fiddle with the notes in my free time and do a bit of worldbuilding to make them better when I restart them. Except xeno. Xeno was a massive clusterfuck of rolls on my part that burned me right the hell out.
