Today was your 'lucky' day. You were just promoted to Combat Engineer. No longer stuck in the rear repairing damaged droids, building new ones, and watching over facilities. Now you have been promoted and attached to an assault force targeting a Republic facility in charge of producing clone gear. Armor to be exact. You are going to die.For a very simple reason as when you and the droids sneakily moved towards the target. After touching down a good distance away to avoid drawing attention. You have taken a look and noticed someone who really should not have been there.A Jedi. The fighting hasn't even started already and the mission is fucked. Of course, you don't have the rank to stop the droids from performing a suicidal assault and neither do you have the time to safely make your escape back to the ship. Instead, you're staring down a Jedi whose probably going to kill you. There wasn't supposed to be a Jedi here. You were just supposed to steal some data and make sure the facility was properly crippled but not destroyed in order to maximize time and resources wasted on repairs. Now the stupid droids were going to get you killed due to their stupid programming.-Welcome to CIS Combat Quest 1 shot try to not die like the fodder you are and see if you can complete the objective. Droids will always follow orders which are both a good thing and a bad thing. Sadly the only ones skilled in explosives besides you are the few Commando droids that were for this mission. If this mission wasn't about sabotage honestly you never would have gotten any but lucky you! You also have engineer droids present with their shotguns and programs. Shotguns aught to give even the damned Jedi trouble...hopefully.The Commando droids slinked away because they weren't dumb enough to stick with the main battalion that is about to cut to pieces by the Jedi. No doubt after this your gonna be doing a lot of field repairs...assuming you live that is.Jedi cuts are such a pain to fix compared to blaster shots unless you get lucky and it was a clean cut of a limb or head.Soon enough the Jedi noticed the company and as the droids open fired. Blocking the blaster rounds before swiftly advancing. As the clones provide cover fire. The Jedi was forced back when the grenades were tossed as they jumped forward bypassing the the throws. Moving right into the middle of the droid pile and cutting them to pieces.Seeing the carnage you couldn't help but smile as the bodies stacked up and the explosives hidden on them were ignored. Sure the grenade toss didn't work but who says you didn't have a backup plan? The Jedi surprised to see you stared at you when you brought up the button and gave him a shit eating grin. Which was when he looked down at the droids and noticed those packages...he turned very pale upon realizing he was in the middle of an explosive minefield hidden among the fallen droids and guess who had the trigger?*BOOOOOM*Jedi or no there is no surviving that kind of blast at close range. Sure you lost a good chunk of the droids but you took down a Jedi! Only problem now is the rest of the defenses. As you look over to see the Clone Troopes who dug themselves in to fight off the incoming droids.Given your lack of fodder and with the Jedi you already suffered heavy losses. Relying on sheer numbers you don't have enough droids to break their fortified defenses. Sadly for the Clones the droids had you!A combat engineer who knows exactly how to crack those defenses. Clones are soldiers and they are all trained the same way unless they are one of those Arc bastards. They are trained to be soldiers and not engineers who would know the flaws in the fortifications they are taught to build. If you weren't present the droids would have been fucked and they would win. Alas they didn't know you were the one behind the Jedi murder and thus they weren't paying much attention to you given the ongoing assault. Which gave you time to bring up your feed from the Commandos who moved in already. They did their job and placed the charges at the right spots before the alarm went off.
Rolled 23 (1d100)>>2084479The clones had done exactly what they were supposed to. They rallied themselves and moved into their defensive positions before calling for backup. What they haven't realized yet is their signal is being jammed. It won't take them long to figure that out though. Sadly for them, you weren't about to give them the time. The charges were placed in all the by the book locations to ensure maximum casualties and blow as many holes into their defenses as possible. After ordering the commando droids to slink off and find some roosts for sniping. You activated the bombs causing an explosive chain reaction. Since the Clones did what they were supposed to they walked right into your trap. With the Jedi present they got overconfident and truthfully the Jedi was your biggest unexpected problem. So the clones were right where they were supposed to be...right nearby to those explosive charges which blew them and their defenses apart. Damn using the Commandos for those booby traps were a good idea. They knew how to hide them just enough that with the clones being distracted and overconfident from the Jedi. They didn't have enough time to realize something was fishy. As the droids charged into the breaches slaughtering the wounded clones and moved deeper into the facility. You followed behind once it was safe for you to advance, but after tallying the number of explosives you have left and the unexcepted losses from dealing with the Jedi you had a problem.A problem that was making you frown deeply as you could feel a headache approaching. You used up too many explosives and droids already. Your old plan was to rely upon the spare explosives you had to blow holes into their defenses and breach. With the rest of the explosives obviously meant to sabotage the facility. The only problem, have you already used too many thanks to the damned Jedi. With how many droids the Jedi took out before dying your backup plan was no good either. You no longer to have the numbers to brute force a way in. Which means your stuck and you don't have the time. You got to get out quick before they realize their being jammed and the reinforcements are alerted something is up.Looking around at the carnage. You had to fight down the temptation to puke when your eyes drifted to the belt on a clone trooper...which had some grenades on it. Hm...not to mention wouldn't the clones also need an armory for their security forces here?A solution is possible but it will delay things or maybe you could come up with a different plan...What do?>Loot the dead and hope its enough>Take a detour to the armory>disguise self as a clone and sneak in>Check the Jedi's body for overrides and maybe a lightsaber to make your own hole if your really lucky>Jury rig some dead droids together to create a big boom>Use what explosives you have and figure out another way to sabotage the factory>Call in the ship for an airdrop above>Other?

>>2089145Clone Wars just got into full swing. You were a droid engineer when you were 'hired' by the CIS(who in truth were already your employers to begin with as it turned out). Shortly after the combat got really started and they realized they desperately needed some combat engineers supporting their droid armies on the ground. You were among those who got the training and 'promotion'. Given how the droids never surrender chances are that also includes you too as far as the Clones are going to be concerned. Unsurprisingly Combat Engineer casualties are 'abnormally' high. You always figured that was due to the droid stupidity and Clones assuming you're just as bad as the droids. Before the Clone War started you were a graduated engineer who collected antique droids and did your best to refurbish them. Your 'hobby' drew the interest of certain companies who hired you shortly after you graduated as a droid engineer. Back then you didn't notice it but there were some strong signs about the upcoming war given the 'projects' you participated in relating to combat droids being developed/mass produced, automated refining/mining, and factories. Most people assuming the CIS is using their sheer amount of credits to finance themselves. Which isn't entirely true. The most frightening thing about the CIS isn't their wealth but their logistics. You know for a fact the CIS has entire mining operations combined with droid factory to ensure a nigh endless amount of troop production. The only thing they really pay for is merely the startup costs. After that, it's surprisingly cheap. Mostly thanks to the CIS is just that cheap. They wanted to minimize the cost of their armies and what better way than to combine it with logistics, security, and production to ensure an endless supply of troops for but a fraction of the cost?If the CIS override shutdown codes hadn't been hijacked and used. Despite their entire leadership being wiped out they would have been able to mass produce entire armies with ease as the 'automated' system took over(and it wouldn't take long for holdouts to mass produce tactical droids/reorganize themselves). Those automated armies being produced would have bought the time for that to happen. Alas, Palpatine already knew that and planned accordingly. There was a damn good reason the Empire was so concerned with hunting down CIS droid factories and mines after they won.>>2089153Sniping. Giving the Clones a real headache because they are being suppressed hard. Unlikely they'll attempt a counterattack until backup arrives. Meaning they are firmly entrenched. You don't have the droids to easily overwhelm through numbers thanks to how many were killed by the Jedi before said Jedi was taken out due to your impromptu minefield and booby trap. Overall you're in a real pickle as if you can't succeed then the droids orders to withdraw won't happen. Meaning you'll also be a dead man.
>>2089146Your current 'modifications' is your suit of armor combined with your rig. For actual augs you have an uplink allowing you to directly connect to computers with your mind and some spare cyberlimbs attached to a rig that is connected to you. Besides that, you also have some cranium upgrades and bone reinforcers.Inside your rig you look like a heavily modified individual bordering on half cyborg but its actually just an illusion. Outside your rig your entirely normal except for your jack in port.but yes you can augment yourself. The stuff you already have is like having a built-in calculator to boost your calculating ability, photographic memory, and the like.People do get caught off guard when they realize you can directly connect yourself to a computer or vehicle for 'assuming direct control'. Some of them think your insane to do it like that given how your mind isn't a droid's.It did admittedly take some getting used to and was really draining until you realized all you had to do was include an interface tapped directly into your brain. Ever since then it's been smooth sailing except for having two brains. Fortunately nobody can see that extra computer brain of yours built inside your fleshy one. Its cleverly hidden among other brain augmentations like photographic memory and calculator. If people had any idea what you did to yourself to directly connect to a computer with ease they would consider you insane. Which currently you are not but the having a secondary built in computer brain is bound to have side effects...

>>2089177Eh I'll let you decide on what race you are.The data jack was a shady operation and augmentation due to the side effects. The placing a computer in your brain was based off a number preexisting brain augmentations but you tinkered with it a bit before building it. After that all you had to do was have a surgeon put it in.You learned the last time about such shady operations in both quality and expense. Make it look like an ordinary brain aug and nobody would like twice at. While at the same time it greatly solved those side effects of directly tapping into a computer.Currently, the people who know about you just figure your an eccentric fellow. If they had any idea of what you truly have done they would consider you a madman.>>2089182The data your after isn't on an ordinary mainframe. You need to go deeper inside so you can tap into the right one. Also causing the self destruct is a tricky affair that requires physically removing some of the fail safes and your mission is to cripple. Not destroy. The idea is to cripple enough factories without destroying them which will trick the Republic into just repairing the existing ones instead of building all new ones, but if you cripple enough factories. There will be a period of time when the Clones are undersupplied. It would be faster, in that case, to build up all new factories to handle the temporary shortage. However, if the factories aren't outright destroyed then why bother?
Rolled 22 (1d100)>>2089153>>2089182"Droids assault the armory to disarm the clones and acquire materials for the sabotage," you speak to the Officer droid whom you swear stares at you with those dimwitted eyes for a solid minute before speaking. "Roger Roger. Changing attack direction accepted." Afterwards some of the droids split of with you to head towards the armory. All you gotta do is blow a few holes in a few walls and your good to go-where did your bodyguard go?"AHAHAH dead clones more dead clones, more guns, more ammo, more KILL!"...Goddamn, it got distracted again. "Things to murder this way," you order."Why not the other way? Lots of meatbags to murder!""I guess you don't want to loot that armory..." you begin but didn't get to finish."THIS WAY FORWARD FASTER," roars the droid as it abruptly charges into the lead.Ah so predictable. How such advanced assassination software ended up so simpleminded you'll never know. Probably due to the age of the antique droid but its a work of art still. You headed over and placed some charges before blowing a hole and the droids poured through. Lead by a few of the big boys who went in first. It didn't take long for the clones to react but they were being caught between two attacks and forced to split their forces. This made things a bit easier for you and the easiest thing of all was simply blowing holes and charging directly to the armory. All the droids had to do was temporarily hold them off as the next charges were set and boom. Charge into the new hole. You quickly made ground but at the armory, you ran into stiff resistance. Apparently, the clones figured out the target you had in mind and were waiting for you. Even worse still they set up defenses specifically to deal with your explosive goodies.Right when you were about to the tell the droids to charge as they reorganized themselves a single droid charged ahead screaming "BURN BURN EM ALL!" As the droid touted a large flamethrower. Catching the clones off guard before screams started as they were burned alive and the crazy droid roasted them out of their defenses. Forcing the clones to retreat before the droid onslaught led by the fire crazed antique. Just when you thought the fighting was about to get intense once more and after the clones realized the importance of keeping the fire droid away from their defensive lines through supressive fire upon them.Your bodyguard turned its head to you and didn't seem sad. As the droid pulled out some peculiar looking grenades...oh hell those are firebombs."ALL HAIL TO THE FLAME!" Screams the droid as he rolls and tosses the firebombs towards the clones. Realizing they were grenades the clones were smart enough to take cover...alas these were no ordinary grenades. As they erupted into a mighty inferno that swept around cover and burned the clones anyway.Screams of the clones emerged once more as they started to roll on the ground or flee. Providing a precious opening that the droids used.
Rolled 81 (1d100)>>2089340As they charged forward slaughtering the clones and headed right to the remaining line of defense. The now sealed armory. Troubling if it were someone else.Only for one of the B1s to speak "Oh no its locked and we don't have the keys or hack droids with us.""Aww..." agree all the other droids."Imbeciles move out of my way," you order pushing through the crowd before standing before the locked console. Once there you pulled out your data jack and plugged yourself in directly. While you aren't lucky enough to have the overrides you still have your skill. It will only take a bit of time as you start the hack.Meanwhile, a certain kill happy droid noticed the commotion ahead and took a look. It walked around the armory examining it to see some weakpoints."Hm...bog standard armory model. Should have the standard emergency failsafes installed," mutters the droid before it starts cutting into the floor and ceiling look at what was inside before finding what it was looking for."Bingo, just splice these wires together, a spout of fire here to fool the sensors, and clog the filters." At this point, it found where the armory filters were and was lighting a bunch of noxious substances on fire before the vents. At the other side of the armory..."hm what the fuck. Emergency alerts fire detected, contanimation of the air detected, exhausted air filters, and... false signals? No wait something is going on-ah fuck where did my stupid droid go," you suddenly realizing looking around.Back at the other side of the armory as the armory doors start to open a certain murder happy droid pops in through the filters route and prepares to jump right in the middle of the remaining clones who were busy staring at the now opening security door."SURPRISE!" The clones did their best to adjust but...they were caught between two forces. As the doors opened the droids started pouring in and they were caught in the crossfire. They took down a decent amount of droids before dying but it would have been worse if your droid hadn't figured out some way to sneak inside.Probably the assassin droid programming. With the armory under your control you were able to restock on explosives and ammo. Having the droids swap out their guns for stronger blasters as needed. As you were loading up you suddenly heard a few explosions followed by a few others and yet more again....That is not good. It means the clones are moving into position to around the armory. Probably figuring they have you trapped and to divide your forces. Troublesome. And all these damned delays are adding up. Rolled 42 (1d100)>>2090219Hm with them closing in you need to push through past them but in an unpredictable as fashion as possible. Bringing up the plans were adjusted your route and prepared for an explosive bombing run. Speed was of the essence and you had to avoid fighting the clones as much as possible. As it will slow you down and you no longer have much time left.So you grabbed the 'engineer' droids who don't actually possess much engineer programming. They decided to cheap out badly and only taught them how to demolitions and pilot. Honestly it offends you they know so little about actual proper engineering, but they DO at least know their way around explosives.Together you, them, and the super battle droids escorts lead the way. Bombing your way through hallways and rooms seemingly at random. Making it very difficult for the clones to slow you down.Meanwhile in front the droids that were left behind reclaimed old defenses and prepared to hold the line as long as possible. As the reinforcements pincer them. Still, they do their job to occupy a good amount of Clones and should slow them down. The longer they hold out the more reinforcements they can delay. Buying you precious time as they serve as a distraction for the forces that went with you.Soon enough you break into the factory floor itself. Giving orders to the engineer droids on where to place the bombs you rushed forward looking very a special mainframe. Not an ordinary mainframe or even the security mainframe. This was hidden out of the way in a seemingly nondescript and forgotten storage area. Clever hidden in the warehouses and storage. Unless you knew where exactly to you it was easily missed. Hacking through the door you order your bodyguard to grab the data cores, loot the good stuff(droids have a great eye for hardware you've long noticed) and you got busy cracking into the hidden mainframe.Pretty clever honestly it only barely had any data taps. The Security software on it was top notche but it was facing two brains in perfect sync breaking through. Once you get inside you see what the CIS wanted to so badly. No wonder they wanted you break in here. The mainframe contained detailed schematics and logistical data. Even the supply routes and places where Clone forces deep in the field/behind enemy lines to secretly resupply. This hidden mainframe was in charge of holding the detailed schematics behind the gear not just the basic manufacturing data but even the development and performance data even the weakpoints.Gain Combat Bonus VS Clones due to a better understand and weaknesses of their armor.Digging deeper you also uncovered the supply routes and even the locations for secret 'supply drops'. No doubt for insurgents and supply their black ops behind CIS lines.Holy shit...this is all very valuable data. No wonder it was hidden away in out of a way mainframe to keep access limited and difficult.

Rolled 98 (1d100)>>2099568Looking at the pile of now small explosives you take another look down below seeing the reinforcements pouring in and down the stairs at the clones forcing their way up. After confirming the situation you split the explosives into two groups. Dropping one down below and then throwing the other down the stairs. Both with explosive results full of screams. You could still hear their screaming even as you boarded the ship and were lifted off.MISSION COMPLETEDBonus Objective Slay the Jedi achieved!Bonus Objective Mass Carnage achieved! The CIS smiles upon you and the Republic fears your name. You have gained the title Jedi Killer the Jedi now know who you are and everyone else now has good reason to fear you.Sometime later back at a large CIS ship crawling with droids and cargo. You find yourself neck deep in destroyed droids performing repairs. Thanks to the CIS military being made up of mostly droids there aren't any medals instead you got a big fat 'bonus' for your efforts. Honestly, at this point you're little more then a glorified mercenary except you get to officially wear the CIS uniform. Right in the thick of things repairing droids. You're not sure where you'll be deployed next but the fighting will only intensify from here...
>>2101795I hope that 98 was good for us, for once.
>>2101795Good session. Out of curiosity how did the jedi learn of us killing him? I thought only he seen us pull the trigger?
>>2101795cool thanks for running
>>2101893The explosive evidence and the fact there was no way the droids would have done something that smart. Hence you were the only possibility also they had tapes from the security cameras.Basically, it was a simple process of elimination.>>2101843I roll for both the droids and the enemy. As for that roll its to see how things went back at base. A good roll means no trouble and a REALLY good roll means you get time off.Which means next session your back at home. So your gonna have the option to build some droid assistants or perform some upgrades. Among other things.Like arena fighting with a droid gladiator or dealing with a Clone invasion.
