Hello? Is this the "channel 4" website or something?

EVERYTHING I've looked up online keeps talking about the British TV channel for "channel 4", but I don't live there. I know it's on public broadcast, emergency services said they'd be using that to keep everyone up to date, but I don't have a TV in my dorm so I went online instead until I eventually found this website through a sketchy link.

Is anyone there? Food delivery apps stopped working last night and I can't hear anyone outside. Every other website is like "frozen". Twitter, Instagram, Tiktok, I don't see any new posts, just stuff from like 12 hours ago. I can still post but nobody replies or retweets or anything. I feel so alone and am starting to get scared. Is anyone there?
>>
>>5924948
Good mornings sars, this is the channels 4 tech support how can I helpings you sar?
>>
this quest is shit
>>
>>5924956
>>5924964
Thank God somebody is at least communicating online. I don't really get what you're saying but I need some help.

Everything is closed off and shut down right now. Electricity and water is still running, but I can't hear anyone outside at all. I looked out my window and it's early morning, no cars on the road at all. The quarantine stuff all started three days ago, after the thunderstorm, but at least people were still like alive and stuff. What's happening? Is everyone dead?!

I called my family and nobody is answering either. It's like everyone disappeared but me. But at least there are people on here.

The girls upstairs are usually pretty loud when they party into the night. Should I knock on the ceiling to get their attention?
>>
>>5924948
I think you are stuck in a parallel universe where you can only communicate to other person through this website.
Do you have a bathtub? Fill it with clean water before it gets definitely cut of.
Find matches. Lots of them.
>>
>>5924967
Go on a walk, get some fresh air, relax and see if you can meet some people outside.
>>
>>5924968
Are you saying I might have to drink bathtub water? That's gross. I remember my insane doomsday prepper dad saying something similar during Covid after he hoarded a bunch of toilet paper and felt smart. To be fair, I did have to ask him for some. Even though I REALLY don't want to do that, I will fill up the bathtub with water just in case. I'm not sure where I'm going to get matches, would a BIC lighter work? My roommate's a smoker she has one I can steal.

>>5924972
Did you not get the message on your phone? The one about "do not under any circumstances go outside"? Only government people and police are supposed to go out. The government was still letting people order food but they were doing it in armored cars and police trucks, it was crazy.
>>
>>5924975
The government is trying to control the panic, if you want to stay ahead of the curve you need to go out and scavange essential supplies.
>>
>>5924977
Ok I don't have a gun or anything
Whatever is going on, the military will fix it, right?
Does ANYBODY else think I should actually go outside? I'm really scared but now I'm even more scared that you said that because what if all the food has already been taken? Fuck don't make me think of that.
>>
What happened to your roommate?
>>
>>5924979
Yeah, looks like you should try to go outside.
Get dark gray cloth and go out by night. Try to find a radio with batteries in addition to the food.
In dire situation, a bow or blowgun is actually a smart solution because you can make your own projectile, which is harder with gun.
>>
>>5924983
>Yeah, looks like you should try to go outside
Not living up to your name. Outside is clearly fucked. Going out into a place that is fucked, not knowing why it's fucked, makes your situation even more fucked. The better advice would be to stay with in the building and knock on a neighbour's door, preferably one you know. Small cautious first.
>>
>>5924982
She went out right before the quarantine happened to a party and texted me she'll just stay where she is at, since there were a lot of people at the house she was partying at. I haven't heard from her since everything froze up. I hope she's ok.

>>5924983
>>5924986
>>5924977
To be honest with you, I really don't want to go outside. But I can't just stay here without any food. If I see anyone outside maybe I can try to make contact, is there anyone I should avoid?
>>
>>5925011
Avoid to be seen by people outside if you see any, try to talk to any you see in your building.
>>
>>5925011
You really don't want to wait until starvation set in before scavenging. Do you have family nearby? Are you in town or countryside? How old are you?
>>
Ok so taking everyone's advice here, I went out today and managed to make it back thankfully. Here is what happened.

First I went around the dorm and knocked on everyone's door. Nobody answered me, except I heard shuffling in one room but they didn't respond. I guess she was scared too. Still it's nice to know at least one other human is still around out there. I didn't want to break into anyone's rooms so I didn't press it. Then I went to the exit of the building and checked outside. It looks and smelled normal, but was really quiet, no cars or birds. So I crept outside and went down the road to the convenience store for food.

Along the way I saw a weird thing in the gutter. It looked like a clear wet plastic thing with a dark circle or blob in the center. It looked like a jellyfish that washed up on the beach. We get those sometimes along the shore but I'm about 20 minutes away from the ocean so I have no idea how it got here. There were more further down the street but I didn't want to go that way.

Finally I went to the convenience store. The inside of the store was a mess, as though people were already in the process of looting it, just like people here had said. But then in the aisle I found this horrible thing. It looked like a man wearing a dark hoody and jeans, but he was like curled up in the fetal position, and totally covered by some weird transparent slime or jelly in a big ball around him. There was water all over the floor. He wasn't moving and I didn't want to touch him, so I backed away and grabbed some chips and other snacks before leaving the store. I felt really bad about not paying but given the circumstances I don't think anyone can really blame me for it.

I got really tired after I ate and took a nap. I'm back now.

>>5925047
I don't think anyone saw me but it's hard to tell with so many windows and hiding places. I figure most people must be hiding inside just like me.

>>5925155
I'm in a city by the ocean. The collage part of the city isn't too bad but the rest of the city isn't very safe. I was worried this was another big riot at first but this is nothing like that and they usually don't spread out that far from the main city.
>>
>>5925452
You might want to do a check of your house for light and sound discipline. Make sure there is nothing that could accidentally make noise or light that will draw attention and cover any windows without curtains.

Might want to consider grabbing some batteries and a couple small flashlights if you get the chance.

Your dad sounds cool. What do you think he would do?
>>
>>5925452
I'd advise you to get ready to move away from city - it's where people die of starvation in Africa, not the countryside because it's what happens when you concentrate many people without the income of essential resources like food. In the countryside, you can always scavenge.
But it's winter right now. So I'd advise to prepare for a trip away. Do you have a car? A Bike?
>>
>>5925511
Okay, I went to all the curtains and windows and closed them up. I don't want anyone to see in. I also got a flashlight from the emergency supplies bag in the utility closet. I feel kind of bad for taking it but nobody else in the building has come out to grab it yet so...

What would my dad do? Probably ride around on his ATV and shoot deer with his assault rifles he can still legally get for whatever reason. I bet he's having fun right now. Actually, I'll text him.

>>5925744
I don't have a car. I rented an e-scooter from the campus but I don't think that'll work now, otherwise I just used the bus or rode with friends. Besides, I don't think I can go that far from the city because I need my prescription.

I'm still kinda freaked out by what I saw at the gas station. Does anybody know what that was? I kept looking online but I can't find anything on Wikipedia. Was it like eating that person? I guess I was so in shock and disbelief I dissociated at the scene and didn't even think about it. Is that was this was about?

I'm really getting antsy just waiting around. Do you think I should break into some of the other rooms in the dorm and see if anyone has a working TV I can steal? I want to hear what's on the emergency broadcast.
>>
>>5925759
Aim for a radio instead of a TV.
>Prescription
What do you need?
>>
>>5925759
Do you know Morse code? Maybe you could knock on that person’s door in code to prove they you’re… not dead, I guess? Seems a lot like a zombie apocalypse dealio. Ever read World War Z?
>>
>>5925759
No idea what these blobs are about. Sounds like an alien invasion. Should've legalized rocket launchers for private ownership like us Americans, oh well. I'd avoid TV, whatever the message was, it didn't save anybody else.
>>
>>5925452
>"I he-"
You have heard a movement. That's it you don't know what it was, your mind might have filled the rest of what you thought for make you feel better. Is natural.

>really quiet
That's not normal, that doesn't happen unless its a truly dead place. Does your heart beat ? Do you feel sleepy often this days ? Did you feel any different from breathing in and outside of your building ? Check what you have eaten and drinked.

>Jelly here, jelly there
Not normal, never touch them and always check for their presence. Lets call them culprit 1 from now on. Can you draw one of these things ? Can you also draw them from smallest to largest you have seen ?

Holy shit that took all day.

I managed to drag a TV up from the common area in the dorms to my bedroom after disconnecting everything and now I just have to hook it up. I tried to do it as quietly as I could but it was really heavy. It is kinda nice to have your own of the place when nobody is here.

>>5925764
They're psych meds. I don't feel comfortable talking about it. Also I couldn't find a radio, but thank you for being so helpful.

>>5925786
No I don't know morse code! I did stand around the door where the shuffling was but some of these others posts have got me scared. Somebody mentioned zombies. That can't really be what's happening, right? Oh god... Maybe it is. But I haven't heard or seen any zombie. I feel like I'd be dead already if that was the case.

>>5925978
Aliens? Wtf... I mean I did see the bright flashes in the sky a few days ago during the storm but that was just a regular tropical storm right?

>>5925999
I feel fine, I think. I've spent enough time thinking I was dead or living in a delusional world. I know this is real.

Here's a drawing. I only saw some in the gutter and some in the store. They didn't smell like anything I can remember just really wet and kinda gross looking.

What do you think they are? I'm going to figure out how to turn on the TV and look at the broadcast next, especially since it's starting to get dark outside.
>>
>>5926004
If you got anywhere near that, you should wash your clothes and shower. Maybe get rubber gloves, boots, goggles and a respirator(for going outside) if the opportunity presents itself.
>>
>>5925759
>curtains and windows and closed them up
Good, put something in front of the door when its closed. You are forgetting that someone might have seen you regardless by simply walking around yesterday. You will need to do a different road before returning home. A good first step !

>I feel kind of bad
Nonsense, you are using it for it's purpose it would have gather dust otherwise. Its called emergency for a reason leave behind such inane worries, you have far more important things to deal with.

>Fre-
Take a breath, calm down. Massage your temples.
>Does anybody know what that was? Etc...
No. Unless you had an exceptional bad education, you should know that without Wikipedia. Whatever it is, it doesn't exist on earth. You are only placing words here buddy, could be anything : parasite, placing its eggs, making a nest in it for find refuge from bigger more dangerous predators. Very likely.

>ants-
slap yourself. You should, not just for tv but for ensure you get something more to eat and more clothing. How much does heat bother you usually ? Lets say wear 8 or 5 different piece of cloth one on top of the other. From now on you will eat less, this is an emergency not a run in the park. And since you are at it, look through the stuff of your "room mate" if thats how you want to call your relationship, and see where that house of her friends is. "But-" Emergency, or do you prefer to be alone ?

>>5926004
>I know this is real
Lets put a doubt on that. Just for be reasonable consider it an option.

>regular tropical storm right
No probably. What did you read of this storm ? Or hear.

>What do you think they are?
Nothing on planet earth. Very good excellent even, they are no doubt related with humanity not being around you
>>
>>5926004
They look a bit like tadpole eggs, almost. What’s the current supply situation? If you can ration it out for two weeks that would give time for military to come in and do something. Have you heard violence, screaming, gunfire, etc recently? It would be strange if so many people just disappeared without making a noise. Do you have any pets? Anything you could fashion into a weapon, if that unlikely circumstance becomes necessary?

Anyway, tell us more about yourself. What’s your name, where are you, stuff like that.

You guys were right
I just turned on the TV
it is aliens
>>
Okay so the TV made a really loud sound when I turned it on from the emergency broadcast on channel 4, I turned it down but I didn't realize it was going to be so loud. Here's what it said

danger unknown organisms
minimize all contact with organisms and places they have touched
organisms require moisture to survive do not enter any body of water do not bathe or drink water except from secured bottles or cans
they have been found in the sewer network and pipes
they hunt by smell minimize excursion and exercise to mask your scent
the military is coming to get you

that's what it said. I'm freaking out now.
>>
>>5926017
ok this post has really helped me calm down. Thank you for this. I'm sorry I didn't respond earlier but this has just been so freaky

>>5926184
I have enough food now that I raided the store but what if they find me before then? I've been holed up in this room for days now it probably stinks to high heaven

No no gunshots no nothing that's what i thought it was so strange. If people are getting eaten by these monsters without even getting a shot off what hope do I have?!

It's dark outside now. I'm still in my room and don't see anything strange, but just hearing this message has freaked me out real bad. I'm keeping calm though and not going to do anything stupid. My room is locked and barricaded and I have the windows closed up. What should I do?
>>
oh no
I just heard something outside my room
it sounds like it came from down the hall from the room where I heard the noise before
it just sounds like water dripping
I'm being so quiet right now, I'm afraid to get off the bed
please help

>>5926598

outside
it can go under doors
how else could it get into locked rooms in the dorm
it will come inside and kill me if it hears me
>>
There is nothing scary happening outside your door. You should open it and say hello to your new friend :)
>>
>>5926604
Don't listen to smiley anon. He would be happy to see you slip on a banana peel buddy.
Here is what you are going to do, this thing has smelled you regardless somehow. Probably not because of you or your actions of this few days, but because of older smells of you in the building. It is simply inevitable that it would get here. Now we need you to put anything that has a bad smell on you now, then put clothing for wrap them around you and put that smell on your clothes too. After that put everything of use in a backpack and leave, not from the door. Wrap around your sheets to each other and go down one of your windows. Open the gas of your kitchen before leaving and create a small fire, give the jelly thing a first taste of death.

Your best bet right now is finding a place where to create much fire. Perhaps a fuel station. You need to create or find a safe place without any moisture.
Fire will be your best friend, both for destroy moisture, likely kill this jelly things and ensure the military finds you faster.
Coincidentally fire has been humanity best friend and invention from the ancient past. If you cant reach a fuel station immediately and you fear they might be near you make a torch out of some clothes and a stick if you can find it.
>>
And make a map of your city, it amuses me. Who knows might save you later.
>>
>>5926604
Do you have a canister of salt on hand? If its really water based, then salt might screw it up. Or maybe its attracted to salt, but then wouldn't they be in the ocean?
>>
>>5926672
That’s a good idea, give the salt a try before you burn the building down. Make sure also to tell us what you notice about the thing, I.e how fast it’s moving, whether it seems intelligent, etc. Good luck.

I stuffed some dry pillows under the door
I drained the bathtub
but I couldn't stop myself from looking out of the peephole and this is what I saw
I think it's gone now though

>>5926643
>>5926648
I don't know if it's safe to leave. I feel like they'd be more common outside but if it's dry maybe not? Is it drier in buildings with AC or outside?

>>5926672
I could get some in the dorm kitchen I think. But I'd have to go through the hallway. I have a lighter and some test papers, stuff like that. Should I bring that along and like make a torch or what?

>>5926675
I didn't want to watch it that long but it seemed like it was very slow and barely able to move at all, except when it was touching water
>>
>>5926737
>I don't know if it's safe to leave
You are in your personal apartment, alone and the jelly are coming up to you. One was at your door. You have no clue what happened to your neighbours, for all we know they are all jelly sleeping behind their doors.

They are smelling your scent and that means the only thing they need to do is start searching for the exact place, which they are doing. I think if you want to be a tuna can waiting to be open you can remain there.
Or you can go out and have one chance at a fuel station. Fire is the best thing you can make, staying silent is only going to work for so long, because they are tracking you down.

You are also forgetting to mask your scent.
>>
>>5926750
oh god
They smelled everyone else already right
why not me
if they came in through the pipes and ate everyone else
but not me?

ok i'm leaving now
>>
I'm in the Walmart parking lot now
sending this by phone
I was going to go inside but I see those things in the produce isle, probably all over the frozen isle too
At least there is no water out here on the aspault
there's a bank branch nearby and I see people over there going at the ATM with crowbars
they drove up in a black truck and they're all wearing hoodies and I think they all have AR15s
should I be going along with them? I mean they're looters but it's a lot better then being alone and they have weapons
I can't go in the store can't go back home can't hotwire a car fuck what do I do
>>
>>5926807
The answer of that question might depend if you're a girl or a boy.
>>

That's going to be the end of this Quest. Thanks for playing!

It was a bit shorter and less active then I wanted, but to be fair I did sort of encourage it with its odd premise and execution. The idea behind this quest was to make it very "roleplay heavy", as though the person you're talking to is really there in that situation, with them essentially quantum tunneling in from another dimension to a nonexistent 4chan-free universe. I was surprised when this individual guessed that in one >>5924968 it was meant to be more realistic then other quests without prompts (since it's like talking to someone over 4chan instead of it being a Quest) and having no other indicuation what is happening in the Quest is really happening other then it's on this board and my QM tripcode, to show that I'm really the one you're talking to, but everything else was supposed to be "in character".

For context; the main "twist" of the Quest was that the aliens were really a strange species of salp/pyrosomes not from outer space but from the ocean, somehow able to move on land and consume people. The main character, a female collage student who I was roleplaying as, was only spared being gobbled up instantly because of her antipsychotic medications which changed her body odor/smell and masked it from the otherwise unstoppable aliens.

Obviously, this quest ended with her dying because she left the safety of her dorm as per player request. It was always going to rain no matter what, so the "good" ending would be holding out with salt, silica, or using a blow dryer as a portable "gun" until the military arrived which would result in rescue.

As per usual, I'd like to ask a few questions on the format and please tell me what you think.
>How realistic, immersive, or otherwise believable did you find the format?
>Do you think the "aliens" were cool?
>Do you think unhelpful or less competent Quest MCs who can't or choose not to always follow the prompt are a bad concept inherently?
>>
>>5927356
Hang yourself, immediately. Loser qms like you who can’t even finish a one shot are what this board needs to get rid of. I truly, truly, hate you and I hope you die. Your other quests are shit, too.
>>
>>5927551
>Quest ends early because you died
>Blame the QM
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
>>
>>5927562
Ur doing good QM, I thought it was interesting.
>How realistic, immersive, or otherwise believable did you find the format?
The format was confusing, I feel giving options would have helped a lot to prolong the quest, give opportunities for lore, give insight into the MC
>Do you think the "aliens" were cool?
Yes, neat concept
>Do you think unhelpful or less competent Quest MCs who can't or choose not to always follow the prompt are a bad concept inherently?
Not inherently, but such drawbacks should come with benefits (relatability, interesting perspective, control over external factors) that I don't feel balanced the lack of interactivity/control there was

Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah, I didn't think this one would be very popular. But I do appreciate the kind words. I killed the character off a little earlier then maybe I should have because I couldn't think of any way to get them out of their situation without it being an asspull.

>How realistic, immersive, or otherwise believable did you find the format?
Immersion was probably a little shot from the moment you went with the BananasQM trip rather then a new or no tag, given the first-person nature of the narrative. I mean, I get it; it also showed that the quest was being run by someone reliable rather then some flaky unknown newbie - but it didn't really help set the idea of a character rather then the QM, especially when there wasn't a character image.

>Do you think the "aliens" were cool?
Mysterious, perhaps, an interesting concept. I don't really think we got a clear enough picture of them in the time we had to judge 'coolness'.

>Do you think unhelpful or less competent Quest MCs who can't or choose not to always follow the prompt are a bad concept inherently?
Nah, sometimes not following prompts makes sense - characters should have their own abilities and feelings to make them characters of their own rather then just player mouthpieces.
