The Nation of ferrovia has fractured with the death of king Harold with three successor states and a bandit kingdom now fighting over the nation's future. King Elric, the king's brother backed by the landed nobility of the country, wages war in hopes of holding up the monarchy and by connection with the landed gentry. As he styles himself now Lord protector Baric attempts to halt the Monarchists and reformists from harming the status quo with the backing of the army his force is small but well trained and armed. The last of the main contenders is Queen Meredith the sole child of King Harold and devout reformist backed by merchants democrats and communists alike she must lead this dispraite force to victory.

You are Edmund Drayton a yeoman of humble origins now a the leader of the first airborne division of Queen Meredith's ferrovian kingdom. Through well timed attacks and some luck you have rejoined the frontline of the war afterwards being directed at the queens request to join the urban battle of the culturally important city of albrects ford.

The city is truly a mess, your recon flights unable to find the Junta HQ amongst the rubble the do however find the bridges the junta are using to shuttle supplies into the city. The unfortunate fact about finding these bridges is the fact they are well protected by heavy AA guns if your Division XO Taylor is to be believed most likely purchased from Marasalia

The infantry complement have somewhat better luck with your men performing lighting raids in the night and during the day taking advantage of their superior infantry equipment to target Junta officers and specialists. The infantry do note the Junta seem to be making large scale use of Radios allowing them to respond to your raids faster then you initially thought.

The orders are given and you men are ordered to attempt to capture radio sets during this weeks set of raids. It goes well with some sections of your division making a competition out of seeing who can capture more radio sets Norton and his marines are the winners either due to luck or more likely skill at theft thanks to his mens various criminal backgrounds. The Aerial garrison troops do the worst, only managing to capture several civilian radios due to some sort of fundamental misunderstanding of what they were to capture.

The junta for sure are not aware of your presence in the city as they seem to be attempting to harden their safe houses and blockhouses this only seems to make the mortar attacks youve begun this week even more effective.

The captured radios should hopefully allow you to locate the enemy HQ but it will take time for teams to spread out and triangulate the base.

They'll come around eventually. Maybe get some of the officers to do an education program (reading, writing, arithmatic) for them during their down time? It would keep them out of trouble and reinforce the "we value you" thing where we're trying to uplift them as a key part of our reformist political stance.
>>
>>5790652
Incidentally this kind of policy was one of the reasons the Ugandan National Resistance Army and later the Rwandan Patriotic Front (originally a tutsi splinter group of the NRA that split off after the Genocide started and took over Rwanda despite the fact that most of them had never even been there before) punched above its weight compared to wealthier and better equipped factions.

The mortars still continue to do their bloody work hitting junta blockhouses and the occasional patrol in the ruins of the city. The local militias report the junta have begun to increase their presence in the sewer system in an attempt to avoid your mortar teams on the surface.

The radio men manage to finally triangulate the location of the enemy HQ in the city. It seems they have set up in the basement of one of the cities largest opera houses its well fortified but its on the front of the enemy held territory intel gathered from prisoners and radio traffic suggests a near battalion level strength in the area surrounding the opera house.

Meanwhile more and more aircraft bearing Junta colors have been spotted near the city your biplanes have even engaged these aircraft a few times but they always end in no loses on either side.

We start with the armoured assault and mortaring as a distraction to pin the enemy and to let them commit their reserves. The opera house can be attacked that way without being able to get reinforcements. The sewer attack is to try and flush the enemy out.

This may sound like a ramble, but I have a suggestion to get boost our numbers, professionalise the reformist army stronger and boost unity between the commies and democrats.

>To bolster our numbers
Ask the militia which joined the armoured assault and did well to join our forces. We can give them uniforms and our good equipment. Start training these men to work in tandem with the our armour and mechanised. (our paratroopers will not always be able to work in tandem with our mechanised and armoured since raiding and independent operations are our bread and butter)

>To professionalise the army.
We are bound to have some wounded which will be unable to serve anymore. These men should be made full time trainers and be given some battlefield promotions (totally not for them to be able to pull rank against questioning third parties. These men will be training willing militias to militairy standards and give them as much equipment be they from our stockpiles or looted from enemy troops. Radio's are important here and putting emphasis on meritrocratic promotions and initiative.
These men can be trained in Albrects Ford, while we move on to support the meatgrinder in Hankton

Now for the real kicker on how to decide these militias and to keep extremist and bad apples out:
>To boost unity.
Any member who joins this group must rip their armband in two and must sew the other groups colour onto it (even better if both democrats and commies do this together as a bonding experience) These armbands would then both be red and blue. These new military formations could be called the reformist unified (insert military unit size, cause we don't know how many would sign up)s (can be plural)

Now to even make it better. We ourselves will start wearing a blue and red armband and so will our men. Should promote unity and send a clear message to the too extremist groups that their is a significant group of people who can work together and to cut their bs (this is to help avoid a civil war in our faction)
Fight together now! Fights against eachother in elections in the future! For Queen, for Country and the rights of it's people!
>>
>>5791977
And to add >>5790652 suggestion. Making men able to read and write will give a higher spread of knowledge and professionalism to our factions forces. It may also insentivise more people to join up.
>>
>>5791980
>>5791977
And third, but final part cause am ranting a bit too much. We can of course start accepting volunteers which were not able to get weapons and start training and arming them for the reformist unified (again unit size not found).
>>
>>5791977
if they aren't good enough trainers then they can serve in the back line to add more tail to our forces. it would be great if we have a set of engineers that can just set up adequate camp that can keep us warm or a dedicated team of doctors to make sure people come out alive
>>
>>5791977
Solid ideas, and I do like the blue and red armband as part of our uniform.

The week begins with continued mortaring of junta positions with nothing really to note besides the fact Junta mortar teams have been attempting to counter battery your own mortars with little effect.

Alongside the continued mortaring and sniping of junta targets of opportunity the small armoured section is ordered to support militias in pushing a few of the junta hardpoints. This goes poorly the militia not having the training to work in tandem with armor and your armor not having any really combat experience besides the two Halberd amphibious landing craft (which norton has been using to harass the junta side of the river)

The sewer assaults go extremely well as the junta arent expecting a force armed with SMGs and semi auto rifles to suddenly flood the sewers. The gains are only temporary as its fairly difficult to hold large sections of the sewers due to the innumerable entrances scattered around the city.

The early hours of new years day are shepherded in by your men preparing themselves for an assault against the Thompson Opera house, one of the oldest in the city. The men will have to fight through at least a blocks worth of territory before the opera house at which point they will need to clear the building room by room.

In the early morning hours the men move quickly through the city avoiding junta patrols and stealthy silencing several junta blockhouses. The junta forces are surprised to say the least when the real assault begins the skill and violence of action from your men gains a real advantage against the enemy several portions of the enemy line even beginning to rout under the ferocious attack.

The enemy continue to fall back in a rout leavening behind equipment and even their own wounded they fighting continues sporadically as your men finally reach the opera house. Its however unfortunate apon reaching the opera house itself then men stall finally encountering strong junta resistance a handful of your men even identifying the defenders as members of the battle hardened 12th infantry division veterans of the great war and beville like yourself.

If they were facing militia or another normal infantry formation they would probably be able to hold however they aren't facing untrained militia or normal infantry they are fighting the 1st Airborne. The fighting quickly turns from trading fire with rifles to clearing rooms with hand grenades and SMGs to deadly hand to hand fighting room to room.

The lower level of the opera house is where the real HQ is and the first squad to enter it find the various officers and adjuncts burning papers, codebooks and radio sets. The chaos of the field command is so great that many of the junta officers dont even realize the men standing in front of the stairwell armed to the teeth are reformists for a good couple of minutes before someone shouts in surprise and the enemy officers begin to bolt for various exits. You ask Mr steel to look into this Mr veal for you. It takes less than a day for him to return with a file which he leaves on your desk with little fanfare. It looks like Mr Veal is really Alfred Beltway, a representative of a coalition of states in what used to be the Corelias empire; it looks like this coalition is mostly geared for countering the Aquillian empire. It seems they think your going to have some ability to affect the ferrovian government's opinion of aquila. One notable side note about the file is at the very top in bright red pen it appears Mr steel has written the words “Fucking Amatuers”

The millitas make some small head way but they still lack the equipment or training to take real advantage of the chaos of the Junta frontline. The mortars and snipers seem to keep said chaos going by killing fresh officers and NCOs brought from the rear lines.

Write in: let's start another round of recon to see if we can identify somewhere to push that is better than the others.
Are there any major choke points (bridges especially) or landmarks (high ground) that we could use to control the city?
Also, is there a crossing upstream that we could potentially seize to flank the enemy?
Here's my idea: pull the paras back from the city and start preparing for a flanking offensive.
Try to rotate the militias to the front line relatively rapidly, and have our boys train them while they're in reserve. (Any given Para should be able to teach what he knows to militia of reasonable intelligence, literacy or no)
Identify a bridgehead upstream, use a para drop on the other side to soften them up and then push with our armor. From there, push downstream to Albert's crossing and start targeting the Junta logistics supplying the town. If we can put pressure on their supplies, we can use the radios to pressure the men trapped in the city, either to surrender or withdraw unarmed (officers can keep their siderarms, but no heavy equipment or automatic weapons. They're walking.)
Everyone who surrenders can have the opportunity to join our side, and if they do, they will only fight the monarchist faction.

If we can win Albert's Crossing, we can have Mister Steel's buddies send out feelers to the Junta to find out if there's any common ground between their movement and ours. To me, the fact that they're fighting the monarchists says a lot more than the fact that they're fighting us, and perhaps they can be convinced that serving in a democracy will benefit them more than ruling a dictatorship (wealth means cooler toys, welfare means smarter, healthier soldiers, civilian oversight is annoying but it weeds out the dead weight)

But we have to win here, first.

Either because of the chaos of the junta frontline skill or plain luck the militias slice through junta lines easily, with their own forces following quickly behind them to secure capture equipment and prisoners. The recon sections of your platoon are soon able to see the bridges across the river, the anti aircraft guns protecting them now well within mortar range. Mr steel reports the captured junta officers have reported that they were promised armored reinforcements sometime this month from the south.

The queens government in nevefar announces good news in the form of several different volunteer brigades arriving from all over the world including ones from Arbeiteria Corelia and Aquila it will take a few weeks for them to arrive.

There are three bridges that cross the river that the junta to successfully cut the supply lines. There are neatly a dozen blocks between the front line and the bridges so the decision is made to make use of the two halberd amphibious landing vehicles and several barges towed behind them at night to strike the bridges.

The operation begins well with a section of airborne and nortons marines launching from upriver using the flow to silently float down to the bridges in the dead of night. The first bridge being the smallest and least used is easily taken silently with sapper changes placed and the men even manage to steal one of the 20mm AA guns before an enemy patrol arrives. The ensuing gun battle alerts the other two bridges and the first bridge is blown as your men retreat up river again.

yeah, but counterpoints:
1. We have marines and because of that there is some advantage on our side for river crossing.
2. An enemy armoured collumn can't cross a river without bridges/ pontoon.
3. River is a good defensive barrier and let's us focus on fighting in the other city and gives us some breathing room for training and recruiting of the army.
>>
This time your men decide to attack both from upriver and downriver hitting both bridges hopefully at the same time. The two halberds are used for the more downriver bridge with the barge tactic being used on the upriver one. The barge team do quite well with marines and airborne managing to take the bridge with one notable addition a stalled ammunition convoy on the bridge means very little sapper charges will be needed to destroy it and it means the enemy will be short ammo until more can be routed to the other bridge.

The other bridge does not go aswell with the enemy hearing the engines of the halberds coming thankfully the enemy unable to see them in the dark of the night dont manage to do much damage but they have to back off from the attack

Your fighting against time now the militias have no real way to fight junta armor and gods only know how much infantry support this unit will bring your own main answer to armor being you CAS which have been grounded due to AA and the worsening weather

The men spend the early parts of the week readying the gun trucks tanks and armored cars for the attack and the first few hours shows your mens growing skills at urban warfare. The middle half of the week is middling in terms of results with good pushes here and there. Your men try to make a proper assault on the last bridge, the key word being try as the nemy seems to be keeping a large section of infantry in reserve to block and assualt like youve done with the last two bridges.

Mr steel informs you have at best one last week before the enemy reinforcements arrive. This leaves you with only a couple of options. The first option is to allow the enemy to push more men into the city. The second option is keep what youve been doing so far. The last option is one brought to you by taylor the enemy AA is centered arond the bridge with the city itself and the enemy back line being completely empty therefore a paradrop would be completely uncontested. Combat drops are dangerous but your men are experts in paradrops.

The entirety of your airborne battalion draws back from the front careful to not make it obvious that your up to something. They gather at the airbase as more and more of your transports arrive to begin loading. The jumpmasters check chutes and the various drop canisters designed for the heavier equipment. This jump wont break any records for size but you hope it will be more then enough to shock the Junta forces.

The junta has units who can match you in experience and training but a paradrop is something unique to your unit. The majority of your enlisted men have never taken part in a combat jump before; only the oldest of your NCOs have experience in more than one combat jump. You board your selected aircraft joining the men of 1st platoon 2nd company, the same platoon you dropped into Beville with during your own singular combat jump.

Its the early morning hours when the last of the aircraft become airborne and begin their flight to the drop zone. The flight is silent save for the rattle of aircraft and the roaring of the engines there's no AA fire unlike beville where Arbeiteria had supplied AA guns to the communists. The junta truly dont know whats happening and cant be prepared for your attack.

The jumpmaster gives a hooked finger to you all you stand up third man front the door and make sure your static line is hooked onto the rail. You lean forward and check the chute of the man infront of you, a young private he seems terrified as he checks the man in front of him. You give the young private a pat on the shoulder as you confirm his chute is good. The light next to the open door flashes green and the jumpmaster gives a thumbs up and the first man is out the door into the icy air. The private is next; he stops for a moment at the door before the jumpmaster gives him a hard shove out the door. Your turn the jumpmaster gives a hard nod as you throw yourself into the open door and into the air.

The cold air is a shock for a few seconds despite that you make sure to keep counting to three and feel your chute open wide above you. The drop is simply textbook the troopers are evenly spread and you can make out the open fields that are to be your drop zone as well you can even see your supply canisters as well. This drop is far better than any single drop you've ever seen including training. The landing is hard but you manage well drawing your Carbine which you borrowed from a private who was too injured to make the jump. The rest of the platton gathers around you making sure to pull security.

The attacks dont come though instead the first of the junta trucks flies on past your mens fighting positions apparently having no idea they are there. The second truck is not so lucky catching a full burst of LMG fire from one of your men disabling it the junta infantry dont stand a chance as they attempt to dismount rifle fire and the same lmg make short work of the poor bastards.

The junta forces apparently finally realize you're here after massacring the lion's share of a platoon and begin to assault your positions in earnest. The occasional mortar splashes down as they try their best to attack you but it seems a full airborne battalion is a bit much for them to dislodge with no warning. You contemplate whether or not it was actually worth borrowing the carbine you brought with you as wave after wave of the amateur soldiers die in these stupid assaults.

As your men continue to fight off the junta attack the sounds of battle coming from the city itself intensify with everything from mortars to machine gun fire being audible. The day crawls by as the junta keep attempting to reinforce the city but simply cant dislodge your men. There is some alarm when an engine and the sounds of a tracks begin to imminent from the direction of the bridge your men turn to ready themselves to repel junta armor but instead are only met with confusion at the sight before them. Instead of a regular tank a tractor which clearly had several steel plates welded together into a fighting compartment begins to drive down the street the Reformist blue clear painted on the “tank” along with a very crude Hammer and sickle.

The regular militias begin to flood in behind this tank as its clear that they have taken the bridge and are now beginning to join the defense against the junta counter attack. It will take several weeks to full clear the city of junta holdouts The time has come for your division to pull back from the front to rest and rearm but the militias of Albrects ford are a chance to recruit combat experienced men and women.

The lion's share of the junta POWs you manage to recruit are lower enlisted usually men who really had no choice in whether or not they fought for the junta. They are lined up on an empty section of the airfield 200 men who until a few weeks ago were trying to kill your own men. They thankfully dont really need any retraining and are mixed in with the aerial garrison to add some much needed combat experience and literacy to the unit.

The militia you've managed to recruit are motivated and have some combat experience but they lack much of the training they need to keep up with the likes of the airborne or even the F.A.G. This besides a downside of recruiting from the militias is also an advantage you could in theory train them for any position in your division which is truly starting to become large enough to truly be a division. The new recruits number close to 600 men, enough for a full battalion.

Half of the millita are soon shipped off to an impromptu jump school outside Nevefar while the other half are put through their paces as regular infantry. The news of a stalemate at Hankton trickles in as heavy snow chokes the north.

Rumors from the east aswell soon flow in of the Kreth military expedition into the kresh mountains fails badly with hundreds of Krethi soldiers laid low by the bandits. The Monarchists apparently win several land battles and a skirmish at sea against the junta. The junta seems to be on the backfoot now.

You gladly accept Mr bakers offer boarding a train bound for Nevefar youve also decided to begin wearing an armband in the colors of the reformists. The train ride is slow passenger trains taking secondary priority over the freight trains bound for the front line heavy with equipment.

The countryside aswell seems busy as you wait for the train to start again horse drawn carts and trucks move along the roads laden with everything from hay to men bound for training camps. The winter since the new year has become much more mild than usual. It seems the north has engaged the war full force.

You finally arrive in nevefar the skies still full of smoke from the factories. The exit of the train is met by something you weren't expecting: a crowd of reporters and the flash of cameras nearly blinds you as you step out. “Ahem everyone please one at a time I will answer five questions” They jostle for a moment before a younger woman come forward pen and paper in hand and asks in a thick Aquillian accent. “Monsieur Drayton, who do you really fight for? Equality? The queen? The people?”. The question is one youve thought about in the past and you answer quickly. “ I joined the army and swore my allegiance to the crown and Queen meredith is the rightful heir so I fight for her”

They jostle again for a another moment before an older fellow comes to the front and speaks. “Colonel is it true you jumped with the rest of your men at Albrects ford?” You nod “of course I jumped with my men what kind of paratrooper would I be if I wasn't willing to jump feet first into combat like the rest of my men”

It takes you a moment to find your words before you speak “Yeah I was a peasant, yeah it was a struggle to get to where I was. as for why I haven't declared myself a socialist, never really bothered to, it's just a label to me. What does matter is that I want what's best for ferrovia and it's people, I also believe that the queen and her reformist agenda is the way to achieve a better future for all peasant or no.” The reporters scribble away at their notepads writing down as much of your answer as they can. A man makes his way to the front of the crowd and asks you in a thick Arbeiterian accent. “Mr drayton how do you feel about the bandits in the Kresh mountains?”

“They are bandits and murders nothing more the Ferrovian army will put them down like the common crooks they are” The final question is asked by a dark skinned man with a thick accent, someone clearly from the fogged seas. “Mr drayton do you have anything you would like to say to Junta or monarchist forces?”

"We all want what's best for our country and our people, and there are better ways to solve it than the senseless destruction of both the country and is people. I ask my foes to recognize that the long term goals of the reformist agenda, in improving the health and education all our people, providing a safety net for our most vulnerable people in the event of misfortune, and giving everyone political representation so that their worries and concerns can be heard before they become a disaster, will make us all wealthier and more prosperous. It will make Ferrovia stronger.

To the Junta, in particular, know this. Our army will be stronger if our soldiers are strong, healthy, and educated. As a Peasant myself, I am living proof of the trans formative power of education and opportunity. Our Officer Corps will be more professional with civilian oversight. If the Officer Corps becomes the only meaningful way to obtain wealth and power in our country, then it will become corrupt and incompetent as those who seek only to enrich themselves swell its ranks. A strong civic alternative will ensure that those of us who choose a life of public service will do so for only the right reasons, that is, to protect and nurture our beautiful kingdom.

To the Monarchists, I know that for generations, you have lived in service to our kingdom and its people. The world around us is changing, and we must change with it. Landed wealth is no longer the only thing a great man needs to prosper. We need all our people to rise to their fullest potential. If you try to maintain the Ancien Regime, you will be destroyed, whether it is from within or without. Come to us, and let us grow together, so that you may build upon the great accomplishments of your anscestors instead of watching them be reduced to dust and ash.

I have absolute faith that the Queen Meredith and her cause of Reform, of giving a voice to the people, of creating a better, stronger citizenry to form the foundation of our great nation, will triumph, whether it is in a year, or in one hundred years. For the sake of your men, and your love of our great nation, please, let our cause become yours as well. also I think in interwar terms, Edmund is more of a democrat/liberal than a socialist, because even non-communist socialists of the time still pushed for centralized economies, while so far what we've discussed is more similar to a bismarckian/scandinavian model welfare state with a relatively lightly-regulated private sector and government institutions to ensure the welfare of the common citizen

in terms of appealing to our enemies, the junta is an easier nut to crack, especially if we were to say, set up a Reserve system that made the Army itself a common fraternal/social organization for our men, and give them an "in" to the education system with a barracks-to-classroom program for retired soldiers and NCOs

the monarchists are a tougher nut to crack because of land reform.
We should create a limited upper house (house of lords) to give the old nobility a voice in government (non-hereditary after a certain point, say, 30 years from its creation) plus a land reform program that involves the crown/central government buying land from the nobles in exchange for treasury bonds and shares in state owned industries, then selling that land to the peasants who till it, along with 30 or even 50 year mortgages, as well as the continuation of all ceremonial titles and duties in their lands, as well as providing goverment backed mortgages to allow peasants to purchase their homes from their nobles

The important part, of course, is that these programs are only available to members of the nobility that cooperate with us, and if they don't they lose everything.

The communists might not like this, but the welfare state will sap a lot of their support, but we can hopefully entice them with the offer of letting them set up their own urban and rural enclaves and encourage them to create credit unions and cooperatives for their members

The various members of the press hastily write down this mini speech as Mr baker passes through the crowd coming up next to you placing a hand on your back as he begins to wave to the cameras. He whispers in your ear. “wave lad make a good impression for the vultures” You wave at the camera before Mr baker leads you to a staff car and you begin to make your way to the Hotel.

“How did the press know I was coming?” Mr baker shrugs “I honestly have no idea its kind of worrisome that they knew” The city seems to bustle with activity with everything from tanks to trucks and even aircraft begin moved from the port. “How are things in the backlines?” Mr baker pulls a cigarette from a crumpled pack lighting it, filling the car with an acrid smell of burning tobacco. “Real busy weve got aquillians communists from arbeiteria and even some merchant guilds from Marsallia. The factories are finally finishing retooling for war production theres a sewing machine factory on the otherside of town producing some insanely good Submachine guns that the kings guard seem to love.

“He looks out the window for a moment my comrades have slowed down on the executions heck even talked them into taking your name off a list of people to execute after the war” The staff car begins to pull into the Hotel parking lot as you speak “You didnt need to save me from those vultures i'm a crow I could have handled myself” Mr baker smiles “of course Mr drayton but it never hurts to keep their kind at a distance.

The hotel is a hive of activity when you arrive you see civilians men in military uniforms and even men wearing the uniforms of various world powers clearly military observers sent to study the conflict. There is something of a line to the ballroom the queen uses as a court. It seems the Kingsguard knows you well enough they have you skip to the front of the line which seems to only irritate those who are clearly foreigners.

You enter the cour walking up to queen Meredith's throne bowing to her once a respectable distance from her. The room is full of courtiers and visitors alike. They watch you those who know of you seem to think your someone to watch.

“My liege we attacked and defeated the enemy forces laying seige to Albrects ford. I request time for my men to Rearm and rest before we take to the field to defeat your enemies again” The Queen smiles and gestures for a young man to come from the side of the room carrying something covered in a cloth. “Kneel Colonel” she stands pulling the cloth away from the object revealing an old sword. You kneel at the sight of the blade, the crowd whispers at the sight. “For your valor and bravery on the field battle most notably jumping into enemy territory to secure my Family's ancestral home I wish to Knight you in the old ways” She walks up taking the sword in hand taping it hard on each of your shoulders before raising it again. “Choose your title Sir drayton General in my army”

Your audience ends and your escorted out of the court. The word of your knighthood has seemed to already spread as people seem to look at you in awe.

The marshal has set himself up in the hotels large gymnasium using the the room as base of command for the entire reformist force. The room is a flurry of movement only a military headquarters could achieve. The marshal himself is standing over a large map of ferrovia with pins marking large gatherings of friendly forces you can tell which are real military units and which are militias by the various markers for support units next to them.

The marshal looks up from the map at your approach “ah congrats sir drayton” He gestures to a man sitting next him “this is Albert Weston the new Air marshal of the ferrovian air force” The man gives you a curt node “Nice to finally meet the man who has all of my transport planes”

“I dont spouse I could keep them any longer could I?” Mr weston snorts at your question “not like I could demand them back after that stunt you pulled in Albrects ford Id make an enemy of every single member of the government save for the most extreme communists”

You walk up to the map standing next to Marshal Alric looking down at the map “Id like to discuss with you the potential of building a training battalion with my WIA men from the my airborne” He looks up at you witha bit of surprise before speaking “I was actually going to ask you if you could spare some men for a Jump school actually so sure we can set one up outside of nevefar” “I also wanted to ask about potentially issuing large amounts of radios is that something we can do?” He shakes his head “I know the junta makes heavy use of radios but we simply lack the stockpile of them nor the spare factories to make them and we are already going into debt buy other much more important war materials including coal and fuel”

He shuffle through some files for a moment before pulling three out and handing them to you “Ive gotten requests from damn near every army in the world asking to put an observer with you i'm going to leave the choice of which nation up to you”

Marsalia:merchant republic Best know for arming anyone with the cash to pay for arms also home to large very professional mercenary guilds

”so what exactly are the papers saying about me the good and the bad if you could please” Mr Baker smiles, leaning back in his chair. “Always looking for information, aren't we Colonel. Well the communist papaers of course paint you as some some sort of unhinged monarchist who got lucky trying to throw his men away in some suicidal paradrop. The Democrats likewise say you only managed to pull the drop off due to diverting resources from other fronts to yourself by calling in favors with the queen. How did the commie revolt end (Everyone got executed? Scouring of the population?) That kinda stuff.

A large chunk of the communists at Beville died defending the beachead however a small selection in the chaos mostly the leaders escaped via aircraft to presumably Arbeiteria youve seen atleast one man who was a member of the Beville communist leadership at your first reformist meeting

There were alot of trials following the revolt with anyone even accused of being involved either being executed or sent to the penal colonies in the Kresh mountains

Could I get a quick rundown of the Corelias government system and other nations we can support/know besides Aquillian, Marsalia, Arbeiteria?
>>

Corelias is currently a mess of various successor states so there isnt one single government however the coalition of successor states your dealing with are mostly nationalist and monarchist

In terms of other nations theres the Kreshi republic to your east however theres some historic animosity between ferrovia and them since a little over 300 years ago they controlled most of what today is Ferrovia

Aquilla Marsalia and arbeiteria are know as the great powers while corelias was also one when it was one nation
