You are Edgar Tristan Rood, and the world is tumbling down. Caster’s Noble Phantasm has turned the entire Marshall estate into a stomping ground for animated plants. You have no grasp on the situation at large. Any number of people could already be dead, or wounded, or worse, and you scramble to protect those important to you. The Grail is within spitting distance - but first, you have to survive.

~~~
“Can you make any more birds?” you ask Ilonasviel. If Marshall is keeping up with Iris, then he has good reaction time. You’d prefer it if he couldn’t react at all.
“I can manage a few,” she responds. While she speaks, you unlock a window and slide it open ever so slowly.
“I’m going to get a better angle. In thirty seconds, use your familiars to tie that man’s feet together.” Without waiting for a reply, you bolt down the hallway and into a staircase. Ilonasviel hurriedly begins to form a bird from wire.
By the five second mark, you’ve entered the hall a floor down. By ten, you’ve found a window with a good view of the target. Marshall’s focus remains on Iris, who is firmly on the defensive. This window, too, you open slowly, since making too much noise now would ruin everything. Twenty-one; you have a more than adequate field of fire. You draw a single Black Key, cock your arm back, and wait.
At the twenty-eighth second, Marshall delivers a bone-crushing blow to Iris’s chest. She careens into - and through - the wall of the house. Juniper shrieks. Marshall begins striding over to make sure she stays down.
Right on cue, at second thirty, a pair of Ilonasviel's birds swoop down at top speed, aiming for Marshall’s ankles. He must see them coming, since he jumps over them as they approach. That’s just as useful as having his feet tied. While airborne, changing direction is nearly impossible.
You launch your sword with the force of a cannon. Your aim is perfect. The blade buries itself to the hilt in the target’s brain. Marshall flips midair from the force and crumples onto the ground. Ilonasviel’s familiars dutifully bind his limbs, though it’s probably unnecessary. You climb through the window and jump down to confirm the kill. Sure enough, he’s dead. Humans, and particularly magi, are such fragile creatures.
“Iris! Is Iris okay!?” Juniper’s worried voice calls to you. “If you free me, I can heal her! Please!”
You’ve just finished cutting her loose when your hair stands on end. No, no, no, no no no. Not here, not now! There are too many vulnerable people! You can’t keep all of them safe! The sound of shattering bark approaches rapidly. A bloodcurdling howl erupts from just beyond the edge of the woods, any hint of rationality long since drained. You catch a glimpse of Saber's face. Iris, pupil and sclera are indistinguishable; her eyes are just walls of red. She's here to kill.
If we failed to kill Marshall or if any of the other Masters had shown up I'd have voted to fall back with Ilona but Saber's just too dangerous, we need to stop her here and now to protect everyone. Doubt talking will work but it should hopefully create some openings we can exploit.
This is our "Jump in front of Berserker" moment isn't it? We've either won this or lost everything.
To prioritize the defense of any one person here would almost certainly doom the others. That’s not enough for you. Nothing else will leave you satisfied. There’s only one way to protect everyone - stop Saber in her tracks!
Without breaking eye contact, you charge directly towards the encroaching enemy. No shout of concern nor accusation of insanity is enough to stop you. You’re faster than you’ve ever been, your legs more powerful, your breathing easier. It takes mere seconds for the gap to close. Your ice is nowhere near as strong as Shielder’s skin, but it can guard against Saber’s heat. If you can fight with even a tiny fraction of Ferdiad’s skill, then you stand a chance!
Saber’s first blow comes your way, and immediately, the initiative is stolen from you. You might be swift, but Saber is quicker than you’ve ever seen her before, and she fights like a wild animal. While you can see every attack coming, each strike hits like a truck, and you’re barely able to recover from one shock before it’s time to block the next. There’s no opening for you to counter. Ice scatters across the ground with every impact as you desperately deflect her claws. Each time, a different thought slides through your mind.
so much power that it hurts
gotta burn it or i’ll burst
who is this
it’s dangerous here
i’m dangerous
run away
The curse, though nightmarish, has not totally overwritten who Saber is. You decide to appeal to the person you know is inside. Maybe, just maybe, you can break through. Restore her sanity. M̶a̷k̶e̴ ̸h̴e̷r̴ ̸s̴u̴b̷m̴i̷t̵.̶
“Tomoe, it’s me! Edgar!” you yell above her feral wails. “I don’t hate you, Tomoe! Like I promised-”
Abruptly, “Tomoe” spits in your face.
Ice forms to shield your eyes, preventing the searing saliva from permanently blinding you. But in the short term, her tactic worked; through the refraction and the steam beyond, you can’t see anything!
A fist slams into your sternum. Much like Iris before you, your ribcage is fragmented in several places. You’re sent hurtling across the yard like a ragdoll, disposable armor breaking off of your chest, arms, and face. It’s a miracle that you weren’t killed on impact; and yet, while it hurts, you somehow feel certain that this much pain can’t slow you down. Your body comes to a stop when it bumps into the altar. Thick branches now sprout up from its base, coiling around the structure; something is growing from beneath it. Back where you were launched, Saber crouches, like a cat preparing to pounce. You have to move, or Hydrangea will be in danger!
This one feels the most in character for the decisions we've been making up til now I suppose. It's unfortunate but we've put ourselves in a place where we can't keep every promise and we're going to have to lose part of ourselves to see this through. I find it kind of funny that if fighting Saber as a human/tree ends the quest in a Bad End other than our plot gymnastic skills it's almost entirely Mom's fault for us dying. Fight Tomoe as a human and die? She took our canister and Altered her. Fight Tomoe as a tree and die/kill everyone else? Never told us anything about it so we knew our limits and what the fuck we even are.
And I'm honestly wavering on fighting Tomoe as a human, we've managed to pull ourselves back to normal when we do go full tree although it did cause us to blackout but maybe now we've had our mental landscape chat we can maintain more control? Plus I'm a sucker for mirror fights, we become a monster to stop Tomoe being a monster.
>>
>>4402319
>>4402385
Fuck it I'll switch to:
>>A̶c̸t̶u̴a̸l̷l̶y̸,̶ ̵t̶h̷i̷s̵ ̸f̴i̶g̵h̸t̴ ̴i̷s̷ ̷w̴i̸n̸n̸a̸b̴l̴e̴.̴ ̶U̷s̷e̵ ̸m̶y̴ ̶f̷u̸l̷l̸ ̵s̸t̸r̴e̴n̴g̴t̷h̷.̸ ̶T̵u̴r̶n̸ ̸i̴t̵ ̸a̸r̶o̴u̸n̴d̴.̷
Thinking about it if we could win as a human in this area (the courtyard) then we would've done so already, the human choice is literally just "do what we just did again and hope for the best". Running might work but I think turning our back on Tomoe'll just have her pull out our spine. So thinking about the options some more using Treebro's power is the most likely one to still give us options after it, ie Run? Die, Fight? Die, Tree? Tomoe and Edgar are at a stalemate now choose how to break it, drain her, freeze her etc
I really hope this doesn't end the quest.
Proof that there is no justice in this world if Sweets' shitty Evil Sieg quest stays alive while this quest dies.
Hey, did you guys know that Sweets is the guy who samefagged so that Kerry was abandoned in the Shinji Isekai Quest? He's also the most blatant Illyafag in that quest (a major lolifag too.), hates Shirou/any male character ever and also has a fetish for genderswapped characters, just as was already guessed.
He also once shit on this quest and Integer because somebody dared compare him unfavourably to it.
I just thought that was interesting.
Sweets is That Guy as a QM.
I bet he samefags his own quest too.
Fate/Awakening Mirror? More like Fate/Magical Realm.
>>
>>4404157
Man I know shitting on Sweets is a meme but I dont think he did half that shit. I dont even read AM. You could at least take this type of unnecessary shit flinging to qtg where it belongs.
>>
>>4404164
I wish anon.
I've been forced to watch him act like this for months now, he thinks that he's anonymous because he doesn't use a trip when it's fucking easy to find out who he is.
Just look for the guy sucking off the Einzberns (specifically Acht) and shitting on Kiritsugu.
He genuinely believes Acht, a heartless monster who throws lives away for nothing and cut Illya's lifespan down to nothing is a better father figure than Kiritsugu.
Who was a good father who unknowingly put Shirou on a path to destruction.
But yeah I don't want to shit up Overgrowth by talking about that goblinoid any more.
Different kind of genderswap.
Sweets specifically enjoys male characters becoming female characters.
Traditional Fateshit genderswaps (barring creepy Da Vinci) are almost exclusively written so that the male historical character was always female.
Seriously, do you need me to point out the dozens of times I've successfully discerned him by his ID?
He used to play Fortuna's quests too.
I just wish he'd take his magical realm to Akun.
I didn't start Overgrowth with the intent to write a quest that runs forever, or even one that runs for a long time. In fact, I'm surprised it's continued for as long as it has. Overgrowth is not "dying," it's ending - and it's going to end soon, be it now or later, because I feel it is appropriate.
Never really been a fan but wanted to chime in, was some of my comments that started that shit over on AM back in May and wanted to offer an apology, not going to make excuses trying to rationalize what I said but fact is you actually came back after a half-year hiatus to finish what you started when you said you would, a QM with that kind of integrity is worth their weight in gold here.
Probably doesn't really matter to anyone what one random asshole on the internet said months ago but with all the negative autism that's been going on across this board lately, it doesn't sit right with me just letting it drop and being part of the problem.
Regardless, although I never really got into things here when it mattered and with what I've got on my plate I might not be able to catch up while its still going on, I do hope things end well for you guys and wish you luck on whatever other projects you may have in the future.
>>Charge back into the fight! Break the curse’s hold on Tomoe, even if it kills you!
>>4404193
I'm glad you've liked it. The feeling of a VN route is more or less intentional, though I can't say I expected you guys to end up with as little information as you have.
There’s a way. You have the power to stop Saber’s rampage. Bringing her down would be a pretty tall order, even if she were at her original strength. But the curse that’s controlling her? Now that’s a piece of cake.
A cup-like tree grows from beneath the altar. The Grail is almost ready for someone to make a wish, but you won’t need its power for this. You force your damaged frame to stand. Just like before, you’ll take on a full frontal assault. You won’t let anyone die.
You cough up blood. Your life drizzles down your chin. No turning back now. You inhale the scent of iron and charge your Servant one final time.
Saber, staying low, lunges at lightning speed. You create a short wall of ice to take her momentum. She smashes headlong into the obstacle, but quickly regains her footing. You’ve mostly just pissed her off.
Your left arm is first. You raise it to block Saber’s claws, but instead of striking, she grabs. An unbelievable force crushes your arm through the frosty armor. You can feel the bones splinter and shred your flesh from the inside. It’s agony, but it’s manageable. The hurt can’t stop you anymore.
The second claw attack comes flying in, meant to take off your head. But you’re even faster than you were before. Your right arm, clad in ice, parries the Servant’s attack just a few inches to the side. This is what you needed. You’re inside her guard.
Saber’s mouth, agape in a roar, makes for an easy enough target. It’s more of a bite than a kiss. You clamp fang-like teeth down onto Saber’s cheeks, your mouth over hers. You freed Charlotte. You freed Ilonasviel. You’ll free Tomoe, too.
The curse floods into you for a third time. It’s the most vile thing you could ever imagine; a murky filth, a cesspool of every conceivable sin hellbent on destroying anything it touches. Of course, that’s no cause for concern. The lance within you pierced the side of Jesus. It’s been covered in his wine ever since. And what curse could possibly saturate the blood of Christ himself? Your life is not in danger. The power this relic grants you is equal parts gift and burden; you, dear human, can suffer through all the world’s pain.
This is the biggest dose you’ve ingested thus far, but somehow it feels the most manageable. You’re not conscious anymore, yet the hatred hasn’t consumed your thoughts. You can still think. You’re still you.
And you’re faintly aware that someone is holding your broken body.
You are Edgar Tristan Rood, and it’s almost time for school. You’re already set to go, bag packed and standing by the door with your father. In your daily ritual, he drives you from your suburban Pennsylvania home to school on his way to work. On this particular day, you’re held up waiting for your sister, Ariel. She’s been kind of out of it ever since she was asked out by the guy she likes, Andrew Howell. This Andrew also happens to be your best friend.
He asked you first, of course - it’d be awkward if he didn’t - but if you’d known it would result in this, maybe you wouldn’t have given your blessing. Still, it’s nice to see Ariel so happy.
While your sister fumbles about to gather her belongings, your mom comes to see you off.
“Honey,” she addresses your dad, “when are you going to have the talk with Edgar?”
“Please, no,” you hastily interject. “We did this years ago. Not again.”
“Not that talk,” your dad replies. “It’s just as important, though. Put simply, Ed, we come from a very special family. I’ll tell you more after work.”
“Okay, I’m ready!” Your sister, slightly breathless, trots over. Your dad, your sister, and you all head out the door. Your mother calls after you through the entrance.
“Have a good day! I love you all!”
Somewhere in the world, a girl you don’t know is crying.
ENDING #NaN
That’s all, folks! Thanks for joining me on this wild ride! I’ll admit, I didn’t really expect you guys to end up with this of all endings, but it was fun to watch you guys get here. Be proud - this was actually one of the hardest endings to find.
Unless I write more for an epilogue, this is likely to be the last thread. If you have any questions about the quest, feel free to ask them, and I’ll try to answer as best as I can.
>>4415392
Since everything went to shit and all other major threats were eliminated, including you, you effectively left your mother alone with two functioning Holy Grails and one of the most powerful holy relics there is. So she used them to get what she wanted - a happy family.
>>4415403
Had you done just about anything differently, you would have learned more about all the shit that lead to this. In fact, the only reason your mom didn't let you in on anything herself at any point is because of the choice you made that prevented Edgar from lying. It's very difficult for someone as totally honest as Edgar to keep a secret.
Haha.
Very funny Integer, now give us the Kirei scene and let's get back into things.
This ending is terribly unsatisfactory.
FUCK, we didn't even get to see either of them say goodbye. All's well that ends well, I guess.
Holy shit dude I didn't expect that but I kinda like it. That momfag from the first few threads got his ending I suppose. As for questions:
Boo
I get why we got here, we left mom alone and focused on dealing with everything else, letting her do as she pleased with less and less obstacles.
I mean technically this is a happy ending but not for anyone (besides reset Edgar) that any of us care about.
Makes sense though.
Thanks for the ride.
>>
>>4417902
VN routes make literally no sense in a quest that can't be replayed like a VN. I'm not sure what we all expected to get from this.
>>
So ends another fateshit quest. Well this one got an ending at least.
>>
I don't have time to answer all of the questions right now, so I'll start with the simpler answers and get to the more complicated ones later.
>>4415453
>Would fighting Tomoe as Treebro have given us another instant ending or would it have kept the story running?
That would also have ended the quest.
>What the fuck is Treebro?
>What the fuck is Edgar?
>What the fuck happened to Tomoe?
First she died, then she never existed.
>What the fuck happened to Dad?
Dad wasn’t actually dead, but being held hostage against Mom by the Church. This will make more sense once I explain what Edgar's deal is, but a lot of the decisions that Emilia made were a result of her trying to balance the safety of the two most important people in her life. Now, of course, he’s happy.
>What the fuck happened to Ilona?
She didn’t need to die to power the grail, but she’ll probably never know Edgar in the rewritten reality.
>What the fuck happened to Ursula, Angelia, Ivonne and the other Einzbern?
Ursula bled out, scared and alone, when you didn’t investigate the bizarre feeling (an ability granted by the Lance of Longinus to detect the suffering of others) that Edgar had at the beginning of thread 10. Although, now that the Grail War hasn’t happened yet, there’s hope for her this time around. The others are much the same, though they hadn’t quite died before the reset.
>What the fuck happened to Howell?
Elizabeth is likely to be happy this time around. Her brother Andrew hasn’t been cursed to near death by Alceste Lucroy, and your mother is going to prevent that as part of the deal she cut with Elizabeth to win the war.
>What the fuck happened to Edelfelt?
Not much has changed, really, except that she doesn’t know Edgar anymore and she’s probably going to get an earlier flight this time.
>What the fuck happened to Charlot?
Same as Tomoe.
>What the fuck happened last Grail War?
>How would listening to best boi Angra have changed things?
Edgar would have become much more powerful, but he also would have become nearly unrecognizable to those around him.
>>4415577
>Can you match the catalysts you gave us to their servants?
a red cloth = Assassin, Little Red Riding Hood. A piece of a cloth believed to be part of Little Red's cloak.
a chunk of iron with one smooth, concave face, inscribed with a rune = Lancer, Dubthach Dóeltenga. A piece of the cauldron used to extinguish the Lúin Celtchair.
a damaged human vertebra = Saber, Tomoe Gozen. A bone from the corpse of Onda no Hachiro Moroshige.
a piece of faded leather = Rider, Tomyris. Part of the wine skin in which she placed the head of Cyrus the Great.
a blade from an axe = Archer, Odysseus. One of the twelve axe heads from Penelope's challenge.
a carbuncle = Shielder, Ferdiad. One of the jewels on his WAR-CAP of BATTLE and FIGHT and COMBAT.
>What would be Edgar's magic if we selected another affinity?
>And finally Who the fuck is Ariel?
The sister Edgar never had until 16 years ago.
>>
>>4415783
>Oh yeah, what was the deal with Iris, Juniper and Hydrangea? Why were they calling Ilona and Ivonne fakes?
As you learned at the beginning of thread 10, the male Caster was Gwydion. In the fourth branch of the Mabinogi, Gwydion creates Blodeuwedd, a woman made from flowers - an artificial human. The Blodeuweddau in Overgrowth, like Iris, Juniper and Hydrangea, are homunculi that Gwydion creates. They call the Einzberns "fakes" because they see Einzbern homunculi as an inferior imitation of themselves.
>And the girl crying, was that Tomoe in the Throne or Ivonne after Mom steps in and spits over Edgar's sacrifice by killing Ilona?
The line is deliberately ambiguous. It’s meant to emphasize that this “happy ending” was obtained at the expense of Edgar’s (primarily female) companions.
>>4415453
>What the fuck is Treebro?
Edgar’s Oni urges, coalesced into a separate personality. Stick with me for now.
>What the fuck is Edgar?
Edgar has Oni blood through his father’s side of the family, and his Origin is “Assimilation.” Normally, that might not mean much. Now, as a result, someone in the Church got wind of Edgar’s particular characteristics, and came up with an idea. An artifact as absurdly powerful (and evil) as the Lance of Longinus is likely to corrupt just about any normal person. Edgar, between his Origin and his lineage, can at least coexist with the Lance so long as its powers are mostly suppressed. With Edgar, the Lance can be hidden in plain sight.
The Church took Edgar’s dad hostage under the pretense of his Oni blood to keep Edgar’s mom compliant with the placement of the Lance in Edgar. The Burial Agency, always looking to gain more power, thinks that it would be pretty rad if Edgar were to figure out how to control the Lance, so they support Edgar’s involvement in the Holy Grail War even though he has a precious relic inside of him. To the Church, Edgar is equal parts a place to hide the Lance and a testbed for it.
As a side effect of his Origin and the presence of another will within Edgar, his Oni side ends up manifesting as a sort of split personality that tries to get him to tap into his blood’s power.
>What the fuck happened last Grail War?
The Howell of that War “won,” but being from a relatively new mage family, didn’t get the memo. Howell tried to fire it up, and knowing neither how to use the Grail nor what was in it, only succeeded in spilling mud everywhere. Ursula’s halberd is the weapon that was used to tear the Grail out of its host at that time and cease its functioning.
>Was there a sort of route split like in F/SN with Fate, UBW and HF ie we could've focused on learning about the Grail War history (HF) or Edgar (UBW) for example?
Originally, I meant to give you guys most of the lore in just the one go, but the way you guys ended up playing made that... difficult.
>What were the other endings?
There would have been variations based on who you decided to get close to/managed to keep alive/how much of the Lance’s powers you decided to indulge in, but by and large the other endings involved Edgar and co. setting out to free his father from the Church, a post-inversion impulse Edgar being held prisoner while his captors (those who care about him) search for a cure, and Edgar going to live in the middle of nowhere, away from the prying eyes of the Church, with everyone he considers important. Also, there was a special ending you may have gotten had you gone all in on the Lance, where Edgar becomes so obsessed with killing the inhuman that he sets off in a frenzy to wipe out vampires, demons, and the like.
>>
>>4421965
(cont.)
>What were the hard locks we chose that sealed off other branches?
Again, this wasn’t designed to be exactly like a VN, so I tried to let you guys experience the Grail War with minimal railroading. The result is as you’ve seen.
>How many fucking Servants were in this god damn war and who were they?
15 in total.
Ferdiad (Shielder)
Tomoe Gozen (Saber)
Gwydion (Caster)
Little Red Riding Hood (Assassin)
Tomyris (Rider)
Dubthach (Lancer)
Odysseus (Archer)
Berserker of Stamford Bridge (Berserker)
Grimhild (Caster)
Brynhildr (Rider)
Gudrun (Avenger)
Plus four you didn’t meet.
>What did we miss?
A lot.
>No seriously, what the fuck happened/was meant to happen if we had an IQ higher than single digits?
You’d have learned about Edgar and his family, about the powers of the Lance of Longinus, about the history of the Holy Grail Wars in Gethsemane, about the backstories, motivations, and rivalries of other factions in the War, including other Servants…
Perhaps you’d have opened the canister when you had the chance, alerting Edgar and Saber to the presence of an extreme evil within this Grail War. You’d also have given them a clue with which to investigate further, and potentially unlocked the Lance’s powers much earlier, giving you time to understand and master them come the final battle.
Or maybe you’d have realized something was wrong with the relationship between Charlotte and “Assassin” before it became a problem. For example, they destroyed Lucroy’s SB file, the initials on which matched up with Agrippa Brigante’s file on Sebastian Blackburn. But for some reason, even after I put a reminder in that same post that you had Agrippa’s files too, nobody bothered to cross-reference the two sets of information you’d gathered until after Assassin attacked you.
Stuff like that.
>What was the most retarded thing we did?
It’s hard to point at one particular decision as the dumbest. I suppose your biggest strategic mistake may have been trying so hard to become friends with everyone that you guys never became close friends with anyone. That handicapped your ability to take down your enemies and deprived me of a narrative excuse to give you plot and lore information that you missed.
>THE BEADS KIREI WHAT DO THEY MEAN?
Mostly, they were just there to scare you guys into not fucking up too often. If you had died too many times, then I probably would have used it as a doomsday clock, but until then I was using it as a countdown until you got a surprise church visit from Gilgamesh instead of Kirei. Which you never did manage, unfortunately. Too bad.
>And finally, who is best girl?
The friends we made along the way.
>>4415577
>What would be Edgar's magic if we selected another affinity?
Fire and Wind would probably have been relatively straightforward, but Earth-aligned Edgar would have been capable of very fun shenanigans, like softening concrete.
>>
>>4415665
>Adding on to this mountain of questions, who were the other Servants and Masters that we never met?
Mostly more of Gwyidion's homunculi, but Rider's original master was a student at Edgar's school.
>>4418575
>Who was OG Ridermaster? The one at the school who we never met?
A male student at Saint Longinus Academy, perfectly normal, except that he's unknowingly a descendant of a fallen lineage of magi, and he's also fascinated with the occult. He had no knowledge of the War, and summoned Rider as an accident while messing around with occult stuff. Think Ryuunosuke in Fate/Zero, but he's just a gloomy teen and not a serial killer.
>Was Edgar's male friend from way back at the beginning ever a player in all this? How about the Father from the churcg who kept messing with Edgar's love life?
Both Damien and Father McManus were completely normal people with no relation to the Grail War.
>>4415903
>How far back in time is the reset? Ed's childhood or something?
Back further than Edgar can remember, giving his parents time to get their affairs in order and break with the Church.
>>4417700
>Its like Zalgo text, but with a line threaded through it as well as /backslashes/? Where the fuck did you find this?
It is Zalgo text. To get that text, I used this website:
https://lingojam.com/ZalgoText
And set the “craziness level” to minimum. It’s very convenient for /qst/, since it has the aesthetic of Zalgo text without chewing through your character limit.
>>4418461
>WHO DID IT INTEGER? WHO WAS THE BASTARD THAT KILLED BEST MAID?
Iris. The homunculi got into a pretty big fight when Edgar was too busy being a captive to mediate.
>who was the smear that Saber made when we met her in the forest if Ursula was ALREADY FUCKING DEAD GOD FUCKING DAMN IT?
Some more of Gwydion’s homunculi. Nobody Edgar knew, if that's your concern.
>>4418673
>If we had gone to Ursula we wouldn't have been in time to save Iris and Juniper would we?
Actually, you might have been in time to fight Marshall alongside them. Had you managed to save Ursula, you’d probably have ended up in the manor more quickly, and might have encountered Iris and Juniper within.
Wow we were way off with Ainnash, would've been nice to have an Oni heart to heart with Tomoe if we actually played the quest properly.
>We were so consistently retarded even telling Mom about Treebro only registered as a 5/10
I don't know whether to laugh, be impressed or be depressed. Probably all 3.
>Fire and Wind would probably have been relatively straightforward, but Earth-aligned Edgar would have been capable of very fun shenanigans, like softening concrete.
>Earth-aligned Edgar
Say it with me everyone. ROCK. FALLS. ON. EARTHBENDER. KILLING. THEM.
>Iris killed Ursula
>Almost gets killed by Marshall
ABSOLUTELY BASED MARSHALL WHY DID WE KILL HIM BEFORE HE LANDED THE KILLING BLOW ON HER
All in all while I am disappointed in the ending we got it was mainly down to us being fucking idiots most of the time. Would've been cool to have gone down some of the other routes that you mentioned which as the seeming lone CANISTERFAG during the quest disappoints me greatly seeing as that seems to have been a big enough red flag to shift us into the other routes but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy the trainwreck of a route we decided to board instead.
Congratulations on being probably the first QM to actually finish a Fateshit quest with a proper ending and not just abandoning it or being eaten by bears like AC Guy was so long ago. Wish you all the best of any future endeavours Integer.
And one last FUCK CHARLOTTEFAGS for the road
>>
>>4422086
>So if Edgar wasn't a completely inhuman monster, what the fuck was the predator then?
Caster's homunculi. In the Fourth Branch of the Mabinogi, Blodeuwedd's ultimate fate is to be turned by Gwydion into the owl, the bird who only comes out at night because all other birds loathe it. In part because Caster hates all homunculi he creates by association and in part to prevent a repeat of the original Blodeuwedd's story, he designed his homunculi to be repulsive to anyone who got to know them too well. In this case, he figured a voracious, carnivorous appetite would do the trick. Had you encountered Iris and Juniper earlier/under better circumstances and spent more time with them, you'd have discovered this yourself.
>Wish you all the best of any future endeavours Integer.
Thanks!
>eaten by bears like AC Guy
Oh my. Would you care to elaborate?
>>4422119
>Huh was the Oni lineage going to be a thing before we got Saber or would it have matched with whichever servant we picked?
The Oni blood was going to be a thing whether or not you got Saber, but the fact that you did get Tomoe caused it to wake up faster.
>>
>>4424927
So was Sebastian Blackburn not the Predator then? If so, what was he then? A Dead Apostle/Vampire thing?
>>
>>4424927
>Oh my. Would you care to elaborate?
AC Guy was the QM for Fate/Stay Again and was regularly hit by the dreaded QM curse, pretty sure there was a few times a run would be interrupted or stopped because of a power outage or some other issue, which wasn't helped by him apparently living in the middle of nowhere in Alaska from what I remember. Eventually he just disappeared after leaving us on a cliffhanger when we had Shirou try to kill Zouken in cold blood with a cursed item which was so awful it caused Archer to realise we couldn't actually be Shirou at all apparently. Given his track record him being torn apart by bears is honestly pretty likely.
>>
>>4425046
>If so, what was he then? A Dead Apostle/Vampire thing?
No, he was not the Predator. Yes, he was a vampire.
>>4425199
Huh. Thanks for filling me in.
I simultaneously hate this and kind of perversely love it. Thanks for actually finishing and I hope to god you run in the future, this whole thing was one hell of a ride.
