Welcome back for another weekly run of Vegeta Quest! We've reached thread 3 and it seems I'm into it still, looking good!

Anyway, for new readers, here's the catalog with all the threads up until now:
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?tags=KingQM

Yes, the first thread was back in 2019, I returned to it after a huge hiatus just last week.

I also have a twitter for updates on the quest: https://twitter.com/Qm1King It includes runtimes and may eventually include some of my thoughts on what's happening, so be sure to check it every once in a while.

I've prepared a long opening post detailing the known history of the Saiyan race to start the thread off, with a special request by Raditz at the end.

----

After the battle against Turles, you spent a few months relaxing at your capsule home, awaiting for news on the development of the projects presented to you by Bulma. A member of the Brief family seemed interested in your history, and came by today to ask you and Nappa about it, Raditz, meanwhile, was off to see his brother Kakarot, as he'd been doing for a while. Turles continued to aid Dr. Brief in the development of Earth's first spacefaring vessel, your spacefaring vessel...

“The original Saiyan homeworld was in planet Sadala, it was eventually destroyed after some infighting, though I wasn’t even born when that happened. That’s when our survivors headed to a planet populated by a technologically advanced race, the Tuffles, and that’s when I was born.” Nappa scratches his bald head, trying to remember more of the history of the Saiyan race. The elder daughter of the Brief family, called Tights, was writing down Nappa’s words as eloquently as she could.

“So… How was life like with the Tuffles?” She asks, trying to order the thoughts of your brute of a servant who had only recently decided to finally wear appropriate earthling clothing.

“Oh, well. Not too sure myself. I was 9 when the wars for the control of Planet Vegeta started. I do remember that we lived in primitive villages and kept to ourselves for the most part.” He says.

“The Tuffles treated us like vermin or slaves depending on the day.” You say, arms crossed on a comfortable armchair. The capsule home developed by the Brief family was rather comfortable, though comfort could bring on weakness. “So we eventually revolted against them and killed them all.”

Tights sighs, somewhat fazed by the brutality of your words. “But you weren’t even born then! I need firsthand accounts, not just victor’s history and hearsay.”

Your face contorts in irritation, but before you can retort Nappa seems to have remembered more, slapping a fist into his open palm. “Right. I do remember King Vegeta rallying us, he seemed badly wounded after a fight with the Tuffles in the borderlands between our territory and theirs. He said that the Tuffles just went up and slaughtered his village for no reason.”

Tights seems more interested in what Nappa tells. “Why did they slaughter his village?”

Nappa shrugs. “Hell if I know, but we were pissed off. I started fighting 5 years after the war started, and let me tell ya, it was some brutal stuff. We didn’t have armor or nothing, and the Tuffle weaklings used powerful weapons to compensate for their weakness.” He seems to grow somber. “Lots of my comrades died in the fighting, but I was cunning enough to scrap by and beat the hell out of a ton of those Tuffle bastards.”

You hadn’t seen Nappa express himself like that in a while. You watch him, curious.

“After a decade of constant fighting, we Saiyans had grown extremely strong because of our fighting spirit. We were able to wipe whole towns by blasting them away, but the Tuffles had developed more powerful technology. Bombs and missiles designed solely to tear through our tough skins. The fighting was taking more and more of a toll, up until the final year…”

Nappa smiled. “In the final year, the full moon of the planet came up, a rare occasion that I’d never seen happen before. The entire Saiyan race turned into Oozaru and we dealt the final blow against the Tuffles with our unbridled rage.”

“Oozaru? You mean the giant monkey thing?” Asks Tights.

“Great Ape, not giant monkey.” You say. “The transformation into the Oozaru is a Saiyan’s most powerful weapon.”

She nods. “Right, interesting.”

“After that, Vegeta’s father was proclaimed King of the Saiyans and renamed the planet to Planet Vegeta.”

Tights looks over to you. “Seems your father leaned on the proud side.”

You let out a “Hmph.”, “That’s what leading your race to planetary conquest and dominion should do to you.”

Nappa continued. “Anyhow, not even a year after that, King Cold, Frieza’s father, landed on our planet and helped us rebuild it in exchange for our service. He gave us technology and space-faring vessels, so we headed out to conquer planets in his name. Another year went by, he announced his retirement and left his son Frieza to rule over us.” He pauses, scratching his head again. “The next 6 years are a blur of conquest, booming populations, and enriching our planet.” He crosses his arms. “Too many Saiyans lost their fighting spirit and seemed happy to stay behind developing the economy of Planet Vegeta. That’s why the King formalized the class system, the working chaff was separated from the warrior class, which was divided into low, middle and elite classes. I was fighting ever since the Tuffle wars, so I got made into an elite. The warriors were sent out to fulfill contracts for Frieza and help him conquer planets, the others did whatever on the surface of Planet Vegeta.”

“And what happened after 6 years?” Tights prods.

“We were told a meteor shower basically blew up the planet and everyone on it.” Nappa says this calmly, apparently not too irked by the thought. “But…” You see him grow angrier. “Truth was, that bastard Frieza blew it up.”

The room falls into a silence. Tights seems saddened by Nappa’s words, “But why?”

You interject. “To put it simply, our species was growing exponentially stronger.”

Nappa seems confused. “Huh? What do you mean, Vegeta?”

“Our power levels increase when we are near death, as our experience in planet Rekar demonstrated.” You say, Nappa nods in agreement, Tights listens intently.

“It seems King Cold noticed us after the war against the Tuffles. Do you know what happened a year before he came by? The entire Saiyan race, empowered by a decade of fighting, turned into Oozaru and likely emitted an extremely strong signal for any power level scanners in Cold’s arsenal.” You get up and approach the window, watching the sky. “It was probably not the first time we turned into Oozaru on top of Planet Vegeta, or even at the mythical Sadala. So why did Cold only notice us then? Why did he come to us not even a year after it happened?”

You look over to Nappa, who seems to get it. He answers the question; “We were growing way strong, so he saw us as a potential army of warriors for his own organization.”

“At first, yes.” You say. “But as time passed, we developed a technique to grow into Oozaru on our own, without the need for a moon. Our power levels increased incessantly. You were considered elite with a power level of 4.000, but there were rumors of mid-class Saiyans reaching up to 10.000 when they were only at a little over a 1.000 after the Tuffle wars.”

“My father.” Raditz’ voice surprised the room as he entered the capsule home. He was still wearing the Gi of Kakarot’s school of martial arts, with the hide cape covering his shoulder’s stub. “Bardock, my father, had a power level of 10.000 by the time Planet Vegeta was blown to bits.”

Nappa seems flustered. “What?! You’re saying a mid-class warrior had a power level of 10.000 while an elite class had only 4.000? How does that make sense?!”

You respond, “My father, the King, had developed the class system considering the power levels right after the war to take the planet from the Tuffles.” You approach your servants. “It seems that, with only 6 years, the power levels of the boldest Saiyans, those who approached death the most, those who fought at the front lines like cannon fodder and somehow survived… They grew exponentially stronger. In Bardock’s case, to nearly ten times his original power.”

“I still wonder why he didn’t believe in my power, though.” Raditz says. “I was reaching into the high hundreds. A few years of catching up with heavy fighting and I’d have been by his side.”

Tights seems to have an answer for that. “Might be he didn’t want you to risk your life as many times as he did. Losing a son is a horrible thought, you know?”

Raditz chuckles. “I don’t think he was the sentimental type, but whatever, he’s gone now.”

“So.” You take the turn to speak. “We were growing exponentially stronger, some faster, some slower, but the fact remained. The Saiyan race as a whole had likely grown much stronger in the span of those few decades of battle. Then there was the legend of the Super Saiyan.”

Nappa and Raditz look to you. Tights watches your two servants and realizes that this is quite the scoop. “Super Saiyan?” She asks.

“The Super Saiyan is a folklore tale of our race. Apparently, a Saiyan in planet Sabala had grown so powerful that his overwhelming strength could only be maintained through transformation. We’re not told what sort of transformation, though, or how it is achieved beyond simply requiring a lot of power.” You pause, watching Tights happily writing away in her ‘laptop’, when she’s done, you continue, “Apparently, it made him so powerful that he let rage overtake him. That Saiyan destroyed Planet Sabala and forced the rest to leave for another planet. As far as we know, he died along with the planet.”

“It seems that wherever you Saiyans go, a planet is destroyed.” Tights says, scratching the back of her head. “Geez, I hope you spare Earth at the very least.”

You ignore that comment as best as you can. “With the legend of the Super Saiyan on one side, and our power growing exponentially. Frieza decided to cut the problem from its roots and only keep a few of us around, ensuring to send us out on tasks which didn’t imply a high risk, so that we didn’t grow in power once more.”

“And he messed up when he sent us to Rekar.” Nappa says.

“Yup. I’m sure that as soon as he heard that the planet exploded, he was irritated at the thought that we might’ve fled and our power levels had boosted once more.”

Raditz opens and closes his lone hand. “And that it did. I’m 8 times as strong, Nappa’s twice as strong.” He looks over to you, with his hand closed into a fist. “While you, My Prince, have surpassed the 20.000 treshold.”

You nod. “And Kakarot, who was supposed to be at a power level of 5, grew all the way to at least 5.000 before we arrived.”

Tight’s belly growls, likely due to hunger. “Right, anyway!” Tights says. “I think that’s enough for today’s history class. I’ll be coming back over the next few weeks to ask for more details, so please try your best to remember.”

The three of you nod at the woman’s request. She waves everyone goodbye and hops back onto her flying car to return to her home before you’re able to speak another word.

“Damn. Couldn’t ask her if her mother had a younger sister.” Nappa says while watching her fly away. He turns to the forest nearby and heads out. “Anyway, gonna go hunt today’s lunch.”

Raditz approaches you. “My brother asked to fight you one on one.” He says.

You watch him with your only good eye, the dead one twitches. “Yes.”

Raditz takes to a knee and bows his head. “I ask you to allow me to assist him in the battle against you.”

Hm? What an odd request. “Have you grown that sentimental?” You say, irked.

“Forgive me, my Prince, but I was also griped with your treatment of Gohan during the battle. So I wish to honorably fight you in order to show my discomfort.”

You chuckle. Raditz was growing more earthly by the day. The fight was supposed to happen in a week. Maybe that was why he’d been leaving so often to see Kakarot, was he planning how to defeat you?

Interesting.

>Fine. You will assist your brother during the fighting.

>You best clear your sentimental thoughts out of your head, Raditz. This is not what I want for you.

Posting the broad rules for the quest:

>system is a simple d100 vs DC. Application of 'best of x rolls' varies per roll!
>dialogue choices are only there as guidelines of what I think Vegeta could decide on a single issue. Write-ins during dialogue options are highly encouraged.
>choices during battle may have higher or lower risks, and often entail higher or lower rewards. Bear in mind that sometimes, higher risks does not mean it provides a similarly high reward. Try to see which move is best for a situation, or even provide a write-in with what you think is best!
>Zenkai only occurs during a real battle for your life! You can't abuse it by being brought to near death during training, as you technically know your life is not in danger. Though if there is a real chance of death during training (for example, a gravity chamber crushing your bones) you may be able to increase even if not as much as after a real fight!
>You are not expected to be goody two shoes, and you are not expected to be pure evil bloodthirsty Saiyans. Saiyans are unique in that their nature is to be brutal and to seek fighting, but they can mellow out over time as Bardock and Vegeta demonstrated in the OG timeline, though they can hardly reach levels similar to that of a human. Do what you think is best for character development!
>Don't feel obligated to stick to Earth! You have spacefaring vessels, there's a Galaxy to explore, and I can always come up with some interesting choices.
>There will be a bunch of waifu options!
>>
>>4229342
>No. If you wish to fight me, you will do so one on one. To do otherwise would disgrace your brother and yourself.

>Fine. You will assist your brother during the fighting.

I'm down. Raditz coming to be a decent older brother and uncle is nice. Plus, together they might provide a challenge.
>>
>>4229413
You provide a good point. Also, I just thought about Raditz’s missing arm. If we said to only do 1v1 them we might be seen as picking only battles we will definitely win, which might translate to cowardice.

>No. Honor demands that a duel be one on one, the victor proving that they're right. But I also don't want to make you wait...fight Nappa in my stead. If you can beat him and prove to me that your time with the Earthlings isn't making you weak, then I'll personally apologize to both you and Kakarot. But if you lose, we'll put you through hell in order to toughen you back up into a proper Saiyan.

I want to resolve the issues between him and Nappa at the same time. Nappa keeps butting heads with him over the idea that Raditz is growing soft.

You watch your kneeling servant. A short silence befalls the scene as you ponder on your response. As far as you know, the honorable thing to do is to fight one on one, so him aiding Kakarot in the battle is not something you should allow. Then again, it would take a while for you to recover from the battle fully, but… You do have someone who wants to fight Raditz and who will make for a good champion.
“No.” You say. Raditz looks over to you and seems about to make another plea, but you interrupt him. “Honor demands that a duel be one on one, the victor proving that they're right. But I also don't want to make you wait...fight Nappa in my stead. If you can beat him and prove to me that your time with the Earthlings isn't making you weak, then I'll personally apologize to both you, Kakarot and even the boy. But if you lose, we'll put you through hell in order to toughen you back up into a proper Saiyan.”

Raditz bows his head again. “Against Nappa?” He shakes his head. “My gripe is with you, my Prince.”

“And Nappa is my servant, he will be my champion.” You watch Nappa returning in the distance with a kill hoisted over his shoulder, a boar. “You will also use that fight to reconcile your past issues with him.”

“But-“ Raditz attempts to provide a rebuttal, but you lift your hand to interrupt him.

“It is final.” You say.

Raditz seems frustrated, he gets up. “With your permission, I will go see Goku-“ He stops mid-sentence. You frown and look him in the eyes, you see surprise and shame. “Kakarot.” He says. “I will go see Kakarot and tell him of our agreement.”

You see him fly off before Nappa reaches you. He seems surprised to see Raditz leave. “He’s not staying to eat?” He asks.

“You will fight him in my stead. An honor duel in a week’s time. Prepare for that, Nappa.”

You expected to see surprise in his face, but you only see a devious smile appear.

“Aw yeah.” Nappa seems excited. “It’s finally time to teach that brat that meddling with those humans is only making him weaker.”

He uses a small finger blast to light the stone campfire outside. “So, one back leg each?” He asks, changing the subject.

You smile, watching the trail of ki Raditz left behind when he stormed off. “Yes.”

The rest of the week was spent preparing yourself physically for the battle ahead. You did your best to keep up with a regular training exercise and sparred with Nappa to keep you both sharp. Surely, you thought, Raditz and Kakarot were doing the same wherever they were.

The day arrived. Both you and Nappa stood in the field close to the capsule home. There was a strong wind that made your hair flutter around, and the smell of fresh grass was rather refreshing. A nice day of the spring season of this planet.

Soon, you sensed two energy signatures approaching, with the power levels of Raditz and Kakarot. Sure enough, it was those two, both wearing Gi. You and Nappa, meanwhile, wore plain shirts and cargo pants with a pair of dress shoes. For any onlookers, this must’ve been quite the peculiar sight.

You watched Kakarot intently. He had an intense air about him, his eyes were filled with a strong determination, even though his power was so low compared to yours. He looked back at you with that urge which, for all the Saiyans present here, was doing nothing but increasing constantly. It was an urge to fight. The wind picked up again while smiles started appearing on the faces of all four warriors.

“I hope you’re ready for a good beating, Raditz. I’m not going easy on you.” Nappa says.

“I’d like to see you try.” Raditz responds.

Kakarot continues with the standoff between you. You cross your arms. “Final chance to give it up, Kakarot.” You say.

You see him tie his gi’s belt tight. “You already know my thoughts on that.” He says. “Let’s go to the wastelands.”

“Wait!” You hear a voice boomed by a loud speaker coming from the skies. How irritating, this was such a deliciously tense moment. It was that blue-haired daughter of the Briefs, riding a flying car all the way to you.

She landed abruptly close to your position, quickly hopping out with a package in her arms. “You Saiyans are all the same, honestly!” She snaps. “Goku! You left so quick that you didn’t even listen to my request.”

Goku scratches the back of his head. “Oh, right, sorry. I was in a hurry.”

You face Bulma. “What is it, woman? We won’t be delaying our fight any longer.”

She pouts. “You won’t be finding a wife, talking like that.” Another irksome comment from that loud mouth. She opens up the briefcase she brought with her on the ground. You watch her take out suits… Battle armor? It had all of the elements she spoke of, the elastic body suit, the chestplate, the armored boots, the smaller pauldrons.

“It’s a prototype of the real thing, of course, but I thought there was no better way to try than a stress test!” She says as she picks up three more briefcases, packs up the one she opened and closes it again.

Bulma brings over one for each of you. “Put them on while you fight. I’ll be watching from afar to see what needs rearranging in the armor’s composites.”
>>
>>4229620
As she reaches you, she puts the briefcase into your hands, and her voice lowers greatly, only for your ears. “You know, you were much sweeter when you praised me the other day.” Her expression turns rather devious as she watches you from her lower height, rubbing the tip of her finger on the briefcase you were holding. There was also something else in that stare, something you did not recognize, and it was wholly directed at you.

You notice your face redden slightly, taken aback by the comment. You take the briefcase and beckon Nappa inside to change.

After a few minutes, you are all outfitted and ready for the fight. The armors themselves only have a blue and white design, and a logo of the Capsule Corps on the chest. The only one that seems different is yours, it has a violet cape to go along with it, clasped at the back.

Nappa takes the cape and looks it over. “Woah, that seems like strong material. He stretches it a few times. I think you could block an energy blast with this thing.”
Huh. You wonder what sort of textile could resist something as powerful as a blast.

He hands it over back to you. “At least the Earthlings know when to show respect, right Vegeta?”

You clasp it to the back of the armor and move around with it. “Yes.” You watch through the window, Kakarot being yelled at a little more by Bulma while Raditz changes behind the car she brought. “All due respect.”

Nappa looks at you, his expression addled. “You alright?”
>>
>>4229625
You nod and move over towards the door, your cape fluttering from the sudden movement. You remember Bulma’s reddened face the other day. It’s a thought that crossed your mind too many times during the past few months. “Let’s go.”

Nappa nods. “’Course.”

After Kakarot and Raditz say their goodbyes to Bulma, and ask her to be careful during the battle, the four of you bolt off towards the wasteland.
The thought of that woman was distracting at first, but you watch Kakarot flying forward, in front of your position. You watch all of your Saiyans wearing their battle armors. Maybe someday… An entire army could be wearing these armors. One under your banner.

What a thrilling thought. Your mind returned to battle strategies soon, and you were even more thrilled thinking of what Kakarot could be bringing with him to win this fight.

After landing in the wasteland. The four of you took up battle stances and eyed your rivals warily. Nappa smiled, while Raditz bore a serious expression. You watched Kakarot from far away, he was smiling as well, maybe there was a plan for him? You didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary about Kakarot’s power.

No more messing around with sentimentality. It was time to fight, to prove which side is right. And yours had all the cards dealt in its favor. You can't help but grin, this should be an interesting one.

>Initiate the battle. Enter into a melee with Kakarot, gauge his power.
>Energy Blast Volley. This weakling is four times weaker than you, time for you to bring him down to his knees.
>Wait for Kakarot to move first, counter him.

>>

So.. are we going to try and get a synthetic arm for Raditz? maybe even a new eye for us?
I mean, I don't exactly know how advanced CC is in this area, but we had robots and androids (some of which are actually cyborgs) since Dragon Ball so the technology should be there.
Also we can try to get CC to research Piccolo's regeneration to see if they can replicate it to replace the lost limbs.

Nappa and Raditz are the first to fly towards each other, they enter a swift melee where Nappa, initially, has the upper hand. Raditz’ missing arm proves to be bigger hassle than he thought.

You, meanwhile, decide to concentrate on getting something useful out of this fight. Focusing Ki and making up techniques is a pass-time that you’ve enjoyed up until now, and a fight is a great place to try out new things.

You crack your neck a few times and stretch your arms for a bit. You let ki begin to flow towards your arms, eventually letting it slowly pour out of your hands. This one should be fun, a fitting arm for a king, or so you saw in an earthling magazine Kakarot had left for your band at the capsule home.

The shape of a bladed weapon slowly took form, hilt and all, with the usual purple of your ki marking its colors, it was paler on the blade itself, that should give it some cutting power. You raised it in front of you, admiring its beauty, then pointed it at Kakarot. “Prepare yourself, Kakaro-“
Huh. Where is he?

You close your eyes and attempt to sense his ki, he’s down below… Hiding? That bastard… He escaped in fear?! No…

He’s planning something.

Whatever it is, you won’t give him any more time to prepare it. You rush towards his position by the ground. He’d expect you to come around the corner, surely he is aiming there with whatever he’s preparing. Heh, no way in hell you’ll fall for that.

You swing your sword at the rock between you and Kakarot, extending the ki wave so it covers a huge arc. It may be a weaker hit, but rock is no match for your princely energy.

The rock is torn into two, raising dust clouds and tearing itself apart as it falls to the ground. You see Kakarot waiting for you at the ground, he blasts off to your position and engages. You block his pathetic hits with your sword, countering and tearing through his battle armor, creating cuts all over his body, blood seeps off of them. Tired of this pathetic demonstration of skill, you use your whole body to kick him away from you.

Kakarot seems worn by your short shamble, but he still smiles. “Idiot.” You say. “You can’t see how doomed you are. I could’ve killed you easi-“
You sense a powerful ki signature right to your side. “That’s…” A disc of energy flies towards you at a blistering speed, right as it reaches you, you cut it in two and the energy swiftly dissipates after having lost its form. Another powerful ki signature comes, Kakarot!

He almost punches you in the face, you dodge it at the last second by moving your head away and cut his exposed side, tearing through the armor once again with the strength of your ki sword, before sending him off flying with a roundhouse kick in the newly exposed skin. “You…”

Kakarot grips his bleeding side, also battered by the kick you provided it. “Damn.” Is what you hear him say.

You check back towards Nappa. Raditz baited one of his punches and moved away, then raised his only hand to deliver a powerful ki blast in point blank right towards his face. Nappa grips his head in pain and Raditz kicks him away, using afterimages to send him off flying like a play ball. Tch, thickheaded fool.

Nappa is able to recover though, and seems ready to fire a mouth blast at the upstart. Raditz, meanwhile, is preparing his energy technique, the double Sunday…

“Tricks to defeat a superior foe, Kakarot?” You say, slicing the air with your sword. You watch Kakarot get into a peculiar stance.

“Ka-“ he says.

Hmph. Preparing a beam while wide open.

Hmm what abput trying to cut/deflect the beam with our recently acquired ki sword? Maybe we can concentrate more ki in it for the purpose.

I am still behind in the quest a bit but i just wanted to pipe in to ask this
Could bulma make a blutz waves generator like in gt, possibly even smaller in the future? (as in scouter sized) if so this could this come in handy as replacement for power balls it is a idea i got from dragon ball multiverse fan comic

>>
So guys. It occurred to me, what if we try to replicate the Kienzan's cutting power in our sword? That alone would give us a chance against Frieza even at low power - that would let us hit way above our own level up until we reach regen monsters like Cell & Buu.
>>
Okay, let's do a recount:

>>4230387
3 votes for responding with our Galick Gun.

I'm not exactly sure how to count these, but I'd say 3-4 or 3.5 votes for cutting/deflecting the kamehameha with the ki sword.

>Could bulma make a blutz waves generator like in gt, possibly even smaller in the future?
wut?
>>

GT stuff. Bulma can make a device that makes Saiyans go Oozaru without a tail. And if they have the willpower for it, SSJ4
>>
>>4230862

I want to support the Ki sword, I feel like a beam struggle while cool would probably cause more destruction than we would like. Also styling on Kakarot like >>4230766 is too good to pass up.
>>
>>4230076
>Try and slice through that beam with your sword. Cut a path down the middle - either it fails and you get some light burns, or you succeed and look more badass than usual.

Still dont know what GR is. She'll probably make it far down the line.
>>
>>4231421
GT is a non-canon series that was the intended sequel to Z. Due to poor ratings however it got canceled. Opinions are decisive on GT
>>
>>4231421
The guy wants a portable version of this (check video) to turn us into a great ape at will. I doubt he expects us to go SS4, it's not main canon anymore and even so SS should be stronger than the oozaru form making the great ape pretty much obsolete after we get there.
Even if we added the SS4 transformation it wouldn't make sense for it to be stronger than SS3. Maybe it can be treated as some kind of perfection from the oozaru transformation but even so it shouldn't be stronger than a SS2 transformation.

>>
>>4231478
>it wouldn't make sense for it to be stronger than SS3
>it shouldn't be stronger than a SS2 transformation
But whyt?
>>
>>4231478
It's not main canon, but it's still canon. The form exists and functions as we see.
>>
>>4231478

You know we could just pull what Broly did in Super and learn how to harness the Oozaru form in human form. Achieving SS4 without actually turning into a furry.
>>
>>4231492
>>4231497
That's why I said it's not main canon, but it certainly exists. GT stuff still appear in games, for example.

It just feels.. "clunky" to mix up SS4 like that. You know, Oozaru was already a forgotten transformation for many reasons. I won't agree with Toriyama and his bad habit of just changing things up whenever he feels like it, but tails were not a thing anymore and we had not 1 but 3 better transformations. And, suddenly, the forgotten great ape is super relevant again, going far beyond the strongest transformation at the time.
Even worse, the SS4 thing feels like a complete different path, mostly unrelated to the SS thing. SS variations are lame, sure, but going from blonde guy, to blonde guy with long hair, to monkey hairy guy, just to change back again to guy with red/blue hair feels odd.

So, if we were to make GT canon "fit" in the main one I feel it would make sense to take the SS4 transformation not as a SS transformation, and more like an upgraded version of the great ape. And considering that the great ape is already far weaker than SS, not to mention SS3, it felt "right" to make that alternative transformation not much stronger than SS2.

Don't mind me, I'm just trying to make sense of a show that likes to shit on its own canon and to not explain shit.
In any case I'm not against SS4 if you guys like it. I was just suggesting it would make sense to not give it a "full GT" treatment.
Hell, if you really like that transformation we can take it beyond measure by mixing great ape with SSB transformation.

But we are still VERY far from that. There's no need to discuss SS4 when we are still far from SS.
>>
>>4231573
I wonder if that counts as SS4. It should.

Still I was just talking canon/design-wise since there's a lot of controversy about GT. Some people simply like that SS4 transformation.
>>
>>4231577
Changing up how a canon transformation works like that is just wack, bro. You might not like it, but that's how it functions.
>>
>>4231585
The thing is SS4 is not a canon transformation because GT is not canon. Adding it here would be just something we can do cause this is a game and we can do whatever.
>>
>>4231594
Hmm .... I wonder if we're going by Super Broly or Movie Broly.
>>
>>4231581

It's basically canon super Saiyan 4 without actually being SS4. Especially given how the prince himself hyped it up as the truest form of evolution for the Saiyan race.

This quest looks cool

What? I don't get what you're saying. At this point Goku should have mastered Kio-Ken 2x, and might be able to go up to 3x or 4x.

>Don't see why not? We just need grit and willpower
If that was the case, then shouldn't Vegeta have mastered it by now? Perhaps it's a Legendary Super Sayian exclusive. There's also the need to know of it's existence.

2 extra votes for the sword thing.

>>4231707
1 extra vote for Galick Gun.

Hopefully KingQM is not sick and we'll get some action later.
>>
>>4232848
I doubt any zenkai happened there. Even training hard as fuck, you usually don't try to kill each other, causing dangerous injuries that might end up killing your partner. I can't remember exactly if any zenkai happened in the show while training in the HTC but I am inclined to say none.

Also it is speculated that zenkai boost loses its effectiveness after many "uses".
>>
>>4233450
That is however just speculation. Toriyama has a habit of forgetting things in his works - it's not really an excuse for us to do so as well. HTC however isn't a zenkai machine, what it's doing is the same thing King Kai's planet or the gravity chamber does, forces the body to adapt and grow stronger to get used to the new force. HTC however, the deeper you go, not only does gravity increase but there is also temperature fluctuations and the sort. It's extremely dangerous to the occupants.
>>
>>4233456
Is the HTC that chamber that increases gravity? I forgot about that. That would definitely be useful for training purposes.
>>
>>4233485
It is one of the earth's guardians many tools for training other than the hyperbolic time chamber kami's lookout also has a holodeck (the z fighters fight two unnamed saiyans in there, and kid goku met a younger kami and mutaito on it) popo can even make temporary stronger clay clones of others (in db popo made a tailed kid goku fight the tailess original) they even have a portal to the otherworld
Really the position is kinda underestimated because of the current owner even if he is a minor god
>>
>>4233456
Hard training is not the same as almost dying. It's a good training and should be effective but it's not the same as getting a zenkai boost.

Also, the terrible writing skills of Toriyama cause a lot of holes that usually have to be filled with some creativity from the fans.
In this case the loss of effectiveness not only explains why Goku and Vegeta are not getting benefits from zenkai boost while other enemies like Cell and Goku Black do; but also gives a limit to a completely broken power that can be easily abused.
>>
>>4233540
Eh the way things are right now it is easier to cherry pick your own canon to attempt to find a canon that isn't contradictory
>>
>>4233645
It looks like we got some kind of canonish answer to this.
>>
>>4233683
Until they decide that they can for some plot, and really how the fuck is black able to zenkai so hard or even at all if his body is goku's only with zamazu's god ki?
>>
>>4233773
Trying to coherently play anything db-related is a struggle.

Well, some say it is because Zamasu's soul into Goku's body kind of counts as a different being and has to extract the full potential of the body again.

Others even say the zenkai boost stops when the saiyan acquires the SS transformation.

Others say the zenkai boost is still a thing but Vegeta and Goku are already so powerful they barely notice any difference.

Personally I feel it is a mix of the 1st and 3rd explanation. Zamasu with Goku's body is essentially weaker than Goku, just like it happened with Ginyu. So when Zamasu gets a zenkai boost he is pretty much just "unlocking" the raw power in his new body.

So you mix Goku's powerful body with Zamasu's god ki and you get those incredible power boosts.
>>
>>4233683
>>4233773
The manga is bullshit. Zamazu is bullshit. That's our answer.

>Well, some say it is because Zamasu's soul into Goku's body kind of counts as a different being and has to extract the full potential of the body again.
more Toriyama bs

>Others even say the zenkai boost stops when the saiyan acquires the SS transformation.
Even more BS as that's not true throughout the series.

>Others say the zenkai boost is still a thing but Vegeta and Goku are already so powerful they barely notice any difference.
I have no clue and it's probably under QM digression.
>>
>>4234019

So basically the anime answer properly explained like with Black using mimicry to copy Goku's moves and reach more of his power.
>>
>>4234035
>Vegeta and Goku are already so powerful they barely notice any difference.
That begs the question, is zenkai a percentage increase or a flat increase?
>>
Damn, that's a lot of posting while I was away. Sorry for not being here this weekend, first two days out of the quarantine made me a busy dude and the headache persisted for a while. Not corona, thankfully.

We're returning to updates next weekend. Thanks everyone for posting as it's giving me ideas for the (very far) future, thanks to counting anon for counting votes.

Yamcha is fooling around with earthling women after breaking up with Bulma. He didn't take her settling down to work full time with her dad too well as Yamcha was more of a wandering spirit.

More than likely it will be under GM digression if it's be percentage or flat.

>>4235126
See you next weekend
>>
>>4235080
Zenkai in actual DB are more often than not straight up flat increases. It's a "power up as far as you need to beat the villain" type of thing. In my quest, I tried a similar flat increase for everyone after Rekar blowing up which just shot up Raditz to almost reach Nappa's level when he was three times weaker. Not really the best way to do it now that I think about it, but it's led to some fun situations like seeing Raditz standing up to Nappa many times.

I'll likely do it in a case by case basis, taking into account how close to death the Saiyan is, how powerful the blow was, and their current PL.

-------

Anyway, I decided to finish the vote now so it doesn't become a big mess later on. Based on what Black Goku anon posted, I think the Ki Sword attack wins. A bold move.

GIVE ME ROLLS. 1d100, best of three, to cut straight through Goku's Kamehameha. DC: 75.

Whatever he’s preparing, you won’t let him see it through. You dash forward towards him as he utters “Me.” And “Ha.” What a fool, he’s given you ample time. You slash right through his other side, the one protected by the armor, if only to spare him from death. But…

Your eyes open wide, you’ve slashed through… Wind? Dust? Energy. The ki pent up on that form disappears into nothing as it’s carried away by the air.

“Me.” Your eyes dart down and see Kakarot’s silhouette on the ground. The amount of energy pent up in him is… Astounding, a level superior to Nappa’s.

Damn him, you’re not about to let this runt get you with some visual trickery, you dash towards him at full speed with your sword in hand.

“Ha!” Kakarot throws his hands forward and a huge beam of blueish white energy fires right out of them. No time to dodge, you raise your sword just before the beam hits you, cutting through it initially and dissipating the force of the attack. You thought it’d be enough, but your sword is faltering, and as it does so, you feel the heat and impact of whatever traces of energy leak through.

First, burns and cuts tear through your armor as you do your best to hold on to your defensive position. You can see it melting away from the raw energy expelled through this attack, one so similar to your Galick Gun, you thought you were the only one able to concentrate that much energy into an attack…

Then, your sword finally breaks. You close your eyes as it dissipates away and the full force of Kakarot’s beam tears through your defenses and impacts you head on. It burns you, it hurts you, and it cuts you all over as you yell in pain.

You can hear a female voice calling out for the fights to stop as you’re swept away through the beam, up into the sky. Things are starting to blur, the burns are getting to your mind, you are feeling a pain you hadn’t felt since Rekar, right before you passed out from the force of the explosion of that filthy bug-emperor.

The energy finally dissipates and you fall limp towards the ground, impacting it dead on. You vomit blood and look over your body, trying to assess the damage. It’s not good, half the armor is torn off and the skin revealed beneath is filled with burn marks and cuts, blood slowly flowing out of them. There is some internal damage too, if the blood you puked is to be considered proof of that.

You slam your fist into the ground, trying your hardest to get up. You hear two other beams firing and impacting each other. You watch the two beams of light, one is purple-red, Raditz’s double sunday, and the other is a yellowy white, Nappa’s mouth beam. You put your knees to the ground and heave yourself to a standing position, you feel one of your arms going limp and hold onto it. Nappa’s mouth beam seems to be overtaking Raditz’s, and your one-armed servant is soon engulfed just as you were by Kakarot’s beam.
A few seconds later, you watch him struggling to get up, his armor decimated and his skin full of burns. His energy is much lower than before, and he’s likely to pass out. Nappa approaches him carefully, not willing to let him take an opportunistic blow.

Kakarot flies upwards and approaches you slowly. “Give it up Vegeta.” He spares a look to his fallen brother, glaring at Nappa afterwards, then looks over back to you. “We need to take care of your wounds, and Raditz’s.” You can see him breathing heavily, the burns and cuts on his own body are taking a toll on his stance and position.
You ram your shoulder back into position, the stinging pain of setting your body back together is one you are most unfamiliar with. It angers you. Watching that upstart from below, telling you to give up this fight. It angers you. Everything about this angers you so much, you grit your teeth…

>”Fine. Your victory.”
>He thinks you’re done?! Let him feel the pain of a quickly prepared Galick Gun!
>You will return him the pain dealt to you blow for blow. Solar flare and beat him up!
>You will release all of your pent up anger into an Energy Blast Volley!
>>
>>4235242
> Laugh to yourself begrudgingly. "Fool. Kakarot you know nothing of your own race - a Saiyan does not give in until they are nothing but broken bones or a corpse. Continue to fight me low-class, before I lose the respect I was starting to gain for you." While you talk, try to recoup some lost energy. When you're done, rush in with a burst of speed and strike to break bones. It's only fair you give what is recieved.
>>
>>4235238
Hmmm...
Might be better in the future if, when multiple people need rolled for, we basically do "The first three will be for Vegeta, the fourth roll will be for [person 1], the fifth roll will be for [person 2].
Rather than having to select someone and call it out.
>>
>>4235258
Also, QM might wanna roll for NPC's and we stick with Vegeta.
>>
>>4235249
I support the speech. I guess we going un fist to fist. We should probably aim strike at the wounds we've already made on him to compound his injuries.
We can probably afford to do a solar flare to score a handful of strike of strikes, but that's about it. Once he starts relying on his Kii senses to find us instead of his own vision, we can fire a volley of weak blasts before lowing our ki to match our missiles so we can score a surprise hit.
>>
>>4235260
That would work for a followup. Supporting to have that involved in the plan if our initial clash is successful
>>
>>4235242
Wait what the fuck, how did it do that much damage with such a massive power gap? Especially with us being uninjured beforehand while Kakarot was fairly well shredded...
>You will return him the pain dealt to you blow for blow. Solar flare and beat him up!

Idk it's kind of fun to roll for our allies. The GM already rolls for all the enemies. Also we are many anons playing here so the extra rolls are good to let more people participate.

>>
>>4235265
I presume it's the fact that Goku can concentrate his power into a point to become far stronger than his base... wait. That brings a thought to mind. A Kaio-Ken ×20 Goku using Kamehameha totally should have done collosol damage to Frieza at 50%, heck even 100%. Random tangent but it came to mind
>>
>>4235265
The Kamehame Wave is an attack that takes a long time and a lot of power, in-exchange for dealing a whole lot of damage.

>>4235242

Except in all the instances where it doesn't take a long time to fire off and/or doesn't deal a lot of damage.

I'll add these rules to the ruleset:
>all rolls in the thread are considered to be for Vegeta unless:
>when QM asks for rolls for someone other than Vegeta, a player can roll for that someone if they call out their name in their roll post. If a player calls out to roll in a character's name and it came too late (someone rolled beforehand) the roll is not taken into account at all. Deleted posts are taken into account, so no cheating.
>players can roll for another character and then roll for Vegeta or vice versa during a same set of rolling.

Is this clear enough? I thought that players rolling for their favourites was a good setup to create more tension, salt and fun. I'll usually use it sparingly (if two well known allies are fighting each other, like in this fight). Otherwise, I'll roll myself.
>>
>>4235265 #
It is speculated that a ki attack can concentrate more power than its user, that's how Krillin got to cut Freeza's tail.

As other anons have said, attacks involving a slow power up can 'concentrate' the user's ki into a higher power level. Remember that power levels are bullshit, it's all about how ki works and how well you use it. An energy beam like that can be fired nearly instantly for a huge loss in damage, or it can be fired slowly, as Goku did, for a big impact that goes way beyond your usual abilities.

It seems we're going for speech + solar flare + beatdown. A Saiyan doesn't give up until his body crumbles beneath him!

Get me 1d100 rolls, best of three, for our effort against Goku. DC: 60

There isn't any cloning technology yet. As to discussing the possibility of using Namekian biology stuff to regrow arms, that'd be in your talk with Piccolo which will come soon. I'll try to keep it in mind as an option when speaking to him.

They definitely got stronger in DBS.

Technology is BS in DB universe. Some robots can be super strong, there are cyborgs who seem to be pretty much humans with incredible power boosts that can actually get stronger and let's not forget about Cell who is a biology miracle and still branded as an android.

So, technically, we should be able to create some kind of synthetic bio-arm that adjusts to Raditz general power.

You laugh to yourself begrudgingly. "Fool. Kakarot you know nothing of your own race - a Saiyan does not give in until they are nothing but broken bones or a corpse. Continue to fight me low-class, before I lose the respect I was starting to gain for you." While you talk, you breathe in and out slowly, taking back your fighting rhythm.

“Vegeta, Raditz is half dead!” He looks back towards the pair down below. Raditz has gotten back up and tried to deliver two punches to Nappa’s face, but he parries both of them and the Saiyan starts beating him. A punch to the gut, then one to the back of his head sending him crashing to the ground, then a kick that sends him flying back.

“Hey!” Yells Kakarot, obvious obfuscated by Nappa’s ruthless beating. What a fool.

You dash towards him, he senses your energy going for him and turns right around only to see your open palms in front of your face. A dazzling light appears which sends his hands to his eyes, he yells as the blinding light deprives him of one of his senses.

You punch him in the gut, all of the air in his lungs fly out and he spits bile. You let your punch flow forward and send him flying. You dash towards him and take hold of one of his arms, then deliver another blow to his face, and another, and another. You let your fists fly free, hammering down on Kakarot.

“This is a duel of honor!” You yell at him as you continue beating him down. “I’ve thrown your son as a projectile to a spaceship!” You continue yelling as you throw a knee to his gut once more, you grip his hair and put his face close to yours. “If you were a true Saiyan, you’d never let your energy attack wane at the last instant to save someone’s life, even if it is mine.” You punch him twice more. Kakarot spits blood and is trying his best to recover a fighting stance to oppose your blows, but you don’t let him, he puts an arm forward to keep you at bay. You take it by the wrist with one hand. “If you were a true Saiyan, you’d have avenged your son by beating me while I was down until I could no longer stand.” You put your other hand’s palm to the back of his elbow and bend it until it breaks. Kakarot’s painful yell is almost unnerving.

Almost.

You take his other arm and break it just the same way. He yells once more, he opens his eyes, looking at you with a glare. There is hate.
“Those eyes. Those are the eyes of a true Saiyan.” You send a roundhouse kick right into his gut and send him flying, then fly at full speed towards towards his back and use another kick to launch him down to the ground, his crash tears through it and creates a wave of dust.

You land beside him. Your knee falters and you almost fall to the ground, but you’re able to get close to him.

“I…” Kakarot says. You watch him with a glare, awaiting his surrender.

“…won’t give up!” He launches his legs upwards to kick you, supporting himself on his back, but you dodge at the last instance, take one of his legs and break it with an open palm chop.

“Surrender.” You spit at him. “Surrender!” You yell as you walk circles around him.

“No…” He says.

You lift your foot to send it crashing down towards his other knee.

“No!” Kakarot yells once again. You watch as a wave of energy flies out of his body. It’s weak, but it’s enough that you have to lift your arms and protect yourself from the impact, which sends you back a few meters from its raw strength.

Kakarot tries to use his upper arms to get up again, his limp lower arms fiddling around in the ground. His ragged breathing doesn’t let him control his ki right, it ebbs and flows at very low levels. That attack was the last of him.

You lift your hand and prepare a last beam to finish him off. He’s persistent, to say the least…

The voice of Bulma rings in your head, she’s standing in the edges of the crater that Kakarot’s fall created. “Stop it!” She seems to be crying, her voice hiccups and breaks. “You’re going to kill him!”

You grit your teeth. For a moment, you hesitate, but you’re not willing to let sentimentality halt a proper duel.

A huge energy signature flies down from the sky behind you. You turn around and see… Kakarot’s son?!

His head was about to butt into your chest, but you dodged, took hold of his body and sent him flying towards the ground besides his father. You feel like something snapped inside of your body when you redirected him towards the ground, the force of the impact would’ve been enough to knock you out if it had hit. How is this kid…

“You’ve hurt my dad!” You hear the child say as he rises from the crater.

“Gohan!” Kakarot yells. “No, get away from him!”

You cross your arms. “So, the projectile Oozaru is here.” You say with a snicker. But the truth of it is that the energy reading of this kid has gone way beyond his original one. He’s stronger than Nappa?

A trickle of sweat falls from your forehead. “Here to avenge that weakling that is your father?”

The anger in Gohan’s expression is palpable. He’s on the defensive, any suspicious move from you will be met with retaliation. You feel the energy of the Namekian behind you as well, but he seems to be still.

>You’ve won here. Kakarot can’t even stand. Today’s battles are over.
>A child like this, better than you? What a joke! You’ll teach him a lesson in manners!

>You’ve won here. Kakarot can’t even stand. Today’s battles are over.
If it’s an honour duel he wants, he can wait for it. For now, let’s make sure Nappa doesn’t break Raditz beyond repair.
Also, I’m not sure about systematically breaking all of Goku’s limbs like that. Smashing the bones with an attack in the heat of the fight, sure, but while he’s defenceless in our arms and we’re fully aware? It seems a bit antagonistic, even for scouter Vegeta.
>>
>>4235395
>A child like this, better than you? What a joke! You’ll teach him a lesson in manners!
Let the brat get revenge as well
>>
>>4235395
Why are they so worried? it's not like we were going to kill kakarot to begin with. Only brutally beat him down. How else is he supposed to grow stronger?
I think at this point Goku/Kakarot has earned Vegeta's respect for his perseverance and desire to keep fighting despite having three of his limbs broken.

Here's a new deal. Gohan shows exponential potental despite his age and origins as half earthling. if he can beat Vegeta, we'll personally apologize to him and his father.
>>
>>4235410
>It seems a bit antagonistic, even for scouter Vegeta.
You might be right, but I don't know too much about early DBZ Vegeta's mindset.
>>
>>4235410
I've made Vegeta do that because he knows of the existence of the Senzu beans, so he knows that Kakarot can recover from most of his wounds with those. He's sending a message through pain about what being a true Saiyan means, and Goku has gotten part of the memo.

True scouter Vegeta was a huge dick tho. He'd probably have destroyed the planet for funsies or enslaved it. He beamed a beat down Nappa who was pleading for help because he was too weak, basically beamed one of the three Saiyans that he knew remained at that point in the story.
>>
>>4235395
>You’ve won here. Kakarot can’t even stand. Today’s battles are over.
>Disdainfully inform Gohan that he sullied not only his father's honor by trying to interfere in this duel, but his own. Walk off to check on Raditz and make sure he's not in critical condition.
>>
>>4235414
>Why are they so worried?
Bulma is not used to seeing Goku in this state, to put it mildly.
>>
>>4235421
>I've made Vegeta do that because he knows of the existence of the Senzu beans, so he knows that Kakarot can recover from most of his wounds with those. He's sending a message through pain about what being a true Saiyan means, and Goku has gotten part of the memo.
Ok now it makes sense. Neato.

>>4235423
No fighting the son? Wouldn't it be a fair fight?
>>
>>4235410
Yeah, it felt a bit too cruel, and nobody dislikes Goku as much as I do. But wouldn't say it was completely out of character.
>>
>>4235412
We can't keep this up. We are going to lose at this rate. Let's not go crazy.
>>
>>4235426
Fighting Gohan suggests that he was right to interfere. So no, he doesn't get a fight. Not right now, at least.
>>
>>4235432
Maybe it was a bit too cruel? From our perspective it is a pretty horrid thing to do, but with senzu beans being a thing it didn't seem that bad to me beyond the pain caused, which does a good job of teaching Goku what being a Saiyan is all about, and then again the duel was supposed to be 'all out' until one of the two couldn't stand up, so the other options were to outright kill Goku or render him unconscious by beating his face to a pulp or something.
>>
>>4235437
So what if we lose? If we lose it would be against a child. Kudos to Gohan if he can actually beat Vegeta despite being weakened.
>>
>>4235440
But it'd be fair wouldn't it? Goku was outclassed from the start.
>>
>>4235444
Fighting now it's not only a good idea, it would also escalate things far too much. We almost killed Goku, Raditz is badly wounded as well and both Gohan and the Namekian aren't happy. If we keep pushing this, things will get nasty, far beyond the point of a "friendly" match.
>>
>>4235446
not*
>>
>>4235444
You're not thinking like a saiyan. Fair isn't about how strong the two competitors are - if someone is weaker than someone else, that's their problem. It's their imperative to grow stronger to eliminate that difference.
Fair is fighting someone by yourself, without assistance. Fair is respecting your opponent and not holding back. Fair is allowing your opponent to fight you while they're as fresh as possible.
Why do you think Saiyans keep allowing their enemies to recover, despite it being the wrong move from a logical standpoint?
>>
>>4235395
> Visibly relax yourself. "Calm yourself
The fight is over and I am the victor. Kakarot was in no true danger, nor was Raditz, this is simply the way of Saiyans. You did your father a disservice boy, he came far in his fight with me, do not dishonor where his efforts have taken him." Consider and begrudgingly commend Kakarot's strategy
Afterall, it did almost win him the battle, and you won anyways so alls well that ends well!
>>
>>4235449
I'd say the concept of fair still exists, but in this case Kakarot wanted to fight over a matter of honor. That makes it fair, so to speak.
I doubt even a saiyan would consider fair to go against a weaker enemy just because.
>>
>>4235459
I disagree. Even Goku seems to consider it a fair fight when he spars someone like Krillin, despite the fact that Krillin has pretty much always been leagues weaker than himself.
The strength of your opponent is fairly irrelevant.
>>
>>4235459
Goku challenged us one-on-one. Vegeta respected that challenge. Gohan spitting on that is IC but also goes against the fair battle Goku offered us. We promised it would not go to the death, and Goku should be no stranger to spars going until the loser cannot move. Tien vs Goku is a good example of that. Basically, people are jumping and assuming the worst of us, when realistically we'd be gritting our teeth and accepting the loss if Goku had got us to this point.
>>
I'm gonna let this one stew for the night and write the final post tomorrow as it's getting late.

By the way, can I get two final rolls?

One for Raditz and one for Nappa.

>>
>>4235478
Might I suggest that (alongside my writein) we be allowed to go a bit further given Raditz' victory? Here, I'll go and write-up something. Raditz went far all things considered and I'd like to easy the tension a bit.
> Visibly relax yourself. "Calm yourself. The fight is over and I am the victor. Kakarot was in no true danger, nor was Raditz, this is simply the way of Saiyans. You did your father a disservice boy, he came far in his fight with me, do not dishonor where his efforts have taken him." Consider and begrudgingly commend Kakarot's strategy. Afterall, it did almost win him the battle, and you won anyways so alls well that ends well!
> Raditz' close fight, consider the situation. You have won and made your point. However... perhaos a concession. "Raditz, Kakarot. You have both surpassed every expectation I had in place for you. Raditz, we both know you've never come closer to besting Nappa, much less with one arm, and Kakarot, you gained the look of a true Saiyan out there today, you even damaged your prince. I am impressed... Raditz, continue to train as you are. You shall still be recieving your hellish training from me, but I expect what you've been doing with Kakarot to intensify as well." Pass the boy, "You... I suppose I never offered you thanks for your assistance in disrupting Turles' plan to escape. Unwilling or not." It's not an apology, but none of them earned it from you. This is all you will allow.

Long write-in, and feel free to trim it if you'd like if it does end up winning. I just enjoy going kinda wild with things when i get IC
>>
>>4235489
Raditz lost, didn't he? Nappa was able to defend even if not fully, and that was probably the last bit of Raditz's energy.
>>
>>4235494
Yep. Reread it, it's acknowledging his loss as the closest he ever came to beating Nappa. Which is true. Raditz is down an arm but he still almost turned this around from the brink. That's commendable all on its own. The point is mostly to cool the waters and give a small concession while also not doing something OOC. We won so our ego is sated. We should be fine to do that much
>>
>>4235468
>>4235466
I'm not arguing the current situation. I'm just trying to add some perspective. Being a warrior species with a certain concept of honor doesn't make the concept of what is fair completely irrelevant.
I'm sure we can all agree that, even if a warrior considers honorable and, at a certain degree, fair to fight a weaker enemy one on one; abusing the gap in power and going all out with intent to kill, wouldn't be.
Even when Goku fought Krillin in DBS and tested him a little with a kamehameha, he didn't give it all.
>>
>>4235469
>>4235478
Thanks for the surprise session, KingQM!
Have a good night.
>>
>>4235498
Ah. I think that will be explained to Goku whenever someone has the chance. We don't fight like his people. To us, this is a normal, honorable spar. Goku didn't exactly go into this knowing that. We're operating on different rulesets. We're the type to keep going until our bones are broken twigs. Goku goes until exhaustion.
>>
>>4235497
Ah, the initial non-greentext statement of "Raditz' victory" threw me off
>>
>>4235506
Slip of the tongue on my part. Oops. Just ignore that.
>>
>>4235489
There will be some easing of tensions going on. As for your write-ins, if people vote for it and it's the majority vote by the time I return tomorrow, I'm happy to oblige.

To make some things clear:

-While Goku might've been full of hate during the fight, he understands where you came from with the severe beating. He was the one to ask for the fight and you obliged, and he was warned to be ready to go all out, which he didn't do with his kamehameha (a few more degrees of failure from your part and he would've gone all out tho). As far as you can tell, he didn't want Gohan participating even though Gohan had a chance to take it back for him.

-Vegeta has a fair amount of respect for Goku's constant attempts at taking back the fight, even when crippled. While he's won the honor duel, he has a hard time believing that the earthling ways are wholly incorrect, considering Goku's huge boost of power during his childhood on Earth and the existence of the powerful Z-Fighters (compared to baseline humans). This will likely be adressed with a conversation with Nappa post-battle, where you will decide your new perspective on humans and their ways through a prompt. The ways of the human provide a fighter that is weakened by moral sensibility, but also very determined in taking a victory, so much so that they are willing to spend the last of their energy if it means defending something dear to them.

-Raditz had a final turn because Nappa only got a 40 in the 'last' turn. If he had gotten more he'd have beaten down Raditz and defeated him utterly, Raditz' powerful final strike will prove that, if anything, the Saiyan has gotten very determined in protecting his and his nephew's honor.
>>
>>4235502
Thanks dude, and to everyone else who played today.

Good night and see ya guys tomorrow
>>
The fight is over and it's time to ease some tension. They need medical attention and pretty much everyone proved their point. Both Kakarot and Raditz put up a good fight and, even in defeat, they got to keep their honor.
As for us, for a second we got worried about losing our position to this low-level warrior but we managed to prove, once again, to be the best. But a true king should know how to show some grace as well, specially to the ones who might soon be his subjects.
So I say it's time to relax and show some respect to the ones who earned it.

As for humans, the time to think about them and our future will come. But for now, even when their particular ways proved to be an annoyance, those newfound feelings pushed both Raditz and Kakarot to fight proudly till the very end. Maybe they didn't get so soft after all.

So just to bring some life back to the thread, what would people like to see in the future?
Personally I’d like to get Nappa to a level where he can fight evenly with Recoome. I’d also like to get Raditz’s original arm back, whether through a set of Dragon Balls of other means.

We could probably find someone on Earth or another planet that can build/grow him a new one. That namekian fellow was able to grow his own arm back right?

>>
>>4255732
I think the Vegeta in the anime would, but not so much the Vegeta in this quest. He seems to be taking the whole "Prince of all Saiyans" thing like an actual Prince or leader. I believe that there is a not small chance that he might put his fellow saiyans slightly (and i do mean slightly) ahead of himself in certain regards.

Think of it this way: A Saiyan warrior prides themselves on fighting with everything they can and skirting death as close as they can. With immortality, why would you? You know you would win. (barring anything crazy)
>>
>>4255748
Well, the wish worked pretty well for Zamasu. Come on, wishes only work like that when the GM just wants to fuck you over.

Personally I'd wish for KingQM to not drop this quest.

>>4255749
Even if he doesn't wish for immortality he's bound to make a crazy wish. Something like being the king of the universe or turn into the most powerful one or something like that.

Hm.. I guess we could go for something not SO game-breaking like reviving the whole saiyan race or some power-up to beat Freeza. Maybe some technology to be able to fulfill his dream?

Even so, there's not an option here for a small wish, whatever we wish for would be BIG and game-changing.

Powerful artifacts are usually hard to handle in actual games. Even trying hard to not break anything the wish would end up being quite relevant for the story.

On the other hand. DBZ is VERY high fantasy, you get crazy aliens, magic, technology, gods; the whole package. Sooo maybe a big wish wouldn't be so impossible to handle for the GM.
>>
>>4255869
Wish for the power to bring back the dead.
It's the power that keeps on giving, and one could argue that the power would stay with us if we died, meaning we might be able to bring ourselves back.
>>
>>4255748
That's what immortality means. It means you cant die right?

>>4255869
You've a point about Zamasu. Immortality for a Sayian would make every day leg day.
>>
The high IQ wish is to wish for every saiyan to be capable of having full blooded saiyan offspring with humans, then marry into capsule corp and take over earth
>>
>>4257004
That's pretty much wasting a wish, considering human-saiyan offsprings are as powerful as any full-blooded saiyan, some might say that even more powerful.
>>
>>4257004
>>4257108
Maybe a better wish would be for the offspring oh any sayian x human hybrids to end in either a sayian or half sayian, with the human being the dormant genetic trait.

>>
>>4257117
Bulma probably had it cut off at birth.

Yo everyone, sorry for not showing up properly for the past two weeks. Country's just coming out of COVID quarantine and I'm dealing with a lot of RL stuff right now. Don't worry though, I'm not afflicted with the disease, thankfully.

As for Vegeta Quest, threads will not be weekly. If I feel like making a few sessions at one point, I'll post with a lot of leeway before the session itself begins, probably a day or half a day. The quest itself is not on hiatus, but there won't be regular sessions as I had hoped before.

Thanks for all your good energies, I appreciate it a lot.
