You quickly drink a potion of minor healing, restoring 12 hp
Xorag tries to Counter Attack[Power Attack, Attack] but it fails.
Cloak attempts to cast Dispel on the Earth Elemental but fails!
Earth Elemental pulverises Cloak for 5 damage. He falls limp, the shaman is gone, but his protection spells remain.
Oakheart dashes to engage the remaining shaman.

You try to call out to Salaman to find out if he's okay.
>"Salaman! Are you-"
But The Orc resumes his offensive and the words slip from your mouth as you're force to focus on the fight. You hear no response from Salaman.

You unleash your Scroll [Summon Monster V] and call forth a Phase Spider.
Gray: "Scrolls..."
The Phase Spider rapidly becomes transparent until it's invisible.
Xorag overturns a bookshelf onto you. You are easily knocked off your feet in a torrent of old tomes and parchments.
Gray casts Detect Items on you.
Gray: "General!" *he points at you* "That one has a Teleport Scroll claim it and live on!"
Earth Elemental slams Gray for 10 damage.
Oakheart Power Attacks Gray for 58 damage. The corpse goes flying into the wall.

The left door flies open. Four Orc grunts storm in.
Xorag: "You! Go through the double doors and kill the blue wizard! The rest of you defend me!"
Four Salamites emerge from the double doors.
>Your two remaining actions are cancelled
>queue your next 4 actions
(You are much easier to hit and can't attack while prone. You can still use items and cast spells)

You have 32/52 HP

scroll of teleportation to some other place in the room
>>
>>2802455
You can use the Scroll now to prevent it from falling into enemy hands. (It has a range of 1000 miles).
But I'd prefer there to be four actions for the next update.
>>
>>2802513
I always left the combat to people who understand it more, just throwing out a suggestion.

No way, that scroll is too sweet to destroy. Think of what we could do with it
>>

why not just use the scroll to move like 5 feet in one action?
>>
>>2802568
>What does defend actually do again?
It like, increases your AC and halves any damage you take. Neither Christof or any NPC have ever used it. Mostly a relic from the early days of the quest to take up space.

You make a split second decision to deny the scroll. A single use teleport is extremely useful but you can't risk the general escaping.
You retrieve it and prepare to teleport behind Xorag.
Xorag: "NO!"
He lunges forward to snatch the scroll.
1-85: He's too slow
86-90: He accidentally rips it, rendering it unusable
91-100: He snatches the scroll

You teleport onto your feet directly behind the self made general.
Xorag: "So be it. I'll just have to kill you all."
Three grunts rush to aid their leader but are intercepted by Oakheart and earth elemental.
One Grunt heads to the double doors but is quickly engaged by four salamites

(To save time and clutter I'll just report the combat involving You, Xorag and phase spider)

You cast Dispel Magic targeting all of Xorag's defences. The combined burden of all of your current effects

(Shieldx4, Protectx4) and the weight of the 2 spells you're trying to remove make the task seem impossible.
Phase Spider phases into existence at the Orc's side and attacks him with a poisonous bite. It does 8 damage, but

he resists the poison.
Xorag power attacks the phase spider for 28 damage before it can phase out.

You try to jab Xorag (which only has a 75% chance to hit, my bad) but he blocks.
Phase Spider unleashes a flurry of bites doing 6 *resisted* and 10 *resisted* damage.
Xorag power attacks the phase spider but the attack passes through it harmlessly as it phases out.
Xorag: "Insufferable insect!"

You attack Xorag's right side for 11 damage.
Phase Spider power attacks Xorag with a vicous bite inflicting 15 damage. The poison fails to affect him.
Xorag power attacks the summoned spider for 20 damage it fails to phase out in time and is destroyed.

>"Die with dignity, for your tribe dies with you."
Xorag: "The next world awaits! We do not fear death!"

You chug another potion healing 16 hp.
Xorag tries to attack you as you restore yourself but only manages to do 7 damage through your armour.

You counter attack[Power Attack] but it fails.
Xorag counter attacks[Jab, Attack] but it fails.

Xorag power attacks but you counter attack! smashing his ribs to powder for 18 damage.

You make a called shot on his eye but he easily deflects your ambitious attack.
Xorag makes a called shot to your eyes and scores a critical hit! you suffer 16 damage *blindness resisted*.

Oakheart begins marching towards the two of you mace in hand. A single orc grunt remains fighting an endless swarm of salamites.
The wounded orc throws down his shield and grips his sword with both hands. He doesn't look like he can take much more. He stares at you menacingly, his eyes have the mad look of a man with nothing left to lose.

Next turn all hits are upgraded to critical hits

>>
>>2803235
it halves the damage we take and increase our AC what could be better to survive the last turn of combat?
>>
>>2803243
We block him and wreck his shit. Style points.
>>
Think about it. If he's power attacking and we counterattack, we win everything. But if he isn't power attacking, we lose it all.

If we jab, we 80% of the time get this guy, and have a small chance of not getting pulverized.
>>
If we defend we dont lose 100% of the time
>>
>>2803255
If his power attack lands first, we don't get to jab. We're fucked.
>>
>Jab: you will hit first, highly unlikely he will survive unless you roll extremely low on the crit table

>Counter Attack: a successful counter will almost certainly kill him

>Defend: He'll need to do at least 50 damage to kill you. Entirely possible with a critical hit flurry or power attack since it will ignore your armour. (Also the power attack damage multiplier and critical hit damage multiplier stack multiplicatively)

After this turn Oakheart and the Salamites will definitely kill him. This turn will determine what happens to you.

>>2803220
eabf0ce2, represents what attack Xorag is going to do. I'll explain after he does it.
>>
>>2803273
What if he hit him with the cursed mace?
>>
>>2803273
if he's power attacking, defend won't save us and counter is a win

counter is 1/4 chance to win basically

defend is a win vs jab or attack, loses vs flurry or power attack

jab is 80% a win

JAB
>>
>>2803273
Oh then we jab. Let's go boys
>>
>>2803284
it does a bit more damage so a Jab would be more likely to kill him. It also might stun him.
>>
>>2803288
>>2803290

nice. In hindsight we should've used it for most of the fight, then switched back to our main weapon once he was near death.

He's dropped his shield and left himself wide open! You go in to finish him with a jab!
Xorag Counter Attacks[Jab, Counter Attack].
He parries your hammer diverging it's course away from himself and slide his blade down the handle into your chest with his full weight.
You take 22 damage.
You drop your hammer and fall to your knees.
Xorag: "A warriors... death."
He drops his sword and collapses onto one knee.
Captain Oakheart looms behind the fallen general, with his mace resting on his shoulder. He says nothing but his eyes tell you "Finish him."
You have 3 hp remaining.
You stand half-upright and withdraw your bronze dagger.
Xorag: "You still live!?"
You plunge the dagger into his heart piercing through the scorched wyvern hide. It's over. The orc general collapses, his dead hand still clutching your wrist.
>>
>>2803372
Jab and stab.
Good end.

eabf0ce2 is the result returned by the Adler32 checksum algorithm when given the input:
Counter Attack[Jab, Counter Attack]
(the space at the beginning and captials matter)
After I calculated the first counter attack I did it again 3 more times to see what would happen. All three of them would've done 25+ damage.

This session is over, next will be in a week.
It's now been one year (and 7 days) since Seeker /qst/ began. At the time I started it with the intention of running for 10 threads and then deciding if I wanted to continue. The quest has gone on much longer than I ever expected to and at this rate it may go on for years! I currently have no intention of stopping Seeker Quest, I'm excited to see how the quest will develop in the future and see where the story goes.
Thank you for participating.
