You of course, have just dealt with some angry catholics, some angry snake catholics, and also have been dealing with trying to roll back some of your son's reforms...

Meanwhile, you've been dealing with something that has just popped up.

Roll me a 1d100 anons. I'll be back from getting /fit/ in a while.

Hi, this is my first time doing euro dragon quest

lurk moar, and >namefagging

Get out you fucking normie scum.
Just memeing, also back from the gym and /comfy/

While you've been trying to deal with the Catholics, Russian Politics have been going on...

Two new parties have opened up, and a major event has undergone...

Pyotr Wrangel, the leader of the White Exiles of Russia, has returned to his homeland, and has personally done a meeting and has hailed you as a "True hero of Russia" for freeing it from Communist hands. Wrangel during his speech, advocated for reduced socialism, more political moderation, and a day of celebration for throwing off the chains of communism...

Your PR in Russia has heavily increased among the right-wing.

Soon inspired by his message, the Kadet party has formed, which advocates for a mixed constitutional government of elected officials, and a ceremonial Tzar. It's been rather successful among both the right and the left, and is beginning to steal the spotlight among the Monarchists, Menshiviks, and the Bolsheviks. It is led by Pavel Milyukov.

The other party however, is the Partiya Obnovleniya, which is the "Party of Renewal" which exposes socialist views, and unlike the other parties, advocate for a "Vohzd" rather then a Tzar, a Chairman, or a president. They are extremely militiarized, fiercely nationalistic, and desire for Russian independence and sovergnity again. They seem to be extremely popular among the left AND the right too, for having both socialist policies and nationalistic ones. It seems to be led by a somewhat well-known socialist , known as Boris Savinkov, who displays extreme anger towards Sweden for conquering Russia and stealing it's lands. It's a popular movement, and is unlikely to lose traction.

Popularity.

Party of Renewal: (40% of the vote.)
The Kadets (20% of the vote)
Monarchists: (10% of the vote)
Menshiviks/Bolsheviks: (30% of the vote)

Strong nationalistic anger in Russia towards being occupied by the Swedish is brewing, though with a bit of a begruding respect for the Swedish from the middle and upper class for freeing them from communism... Though the nationalists and the lower class despise you still.

Do anons want to interrupt the Elections?

It's not too long until you hear about similar unrest in the Balkans, between the Serbians, Croats, Bosnians, Albanians and the Bulgarians. It seems that the Bosnians, Croats, Albanians, and Bulgarians want independence from Serbian rule, while the Serbians themselves seem to be increasingly agitated towards their incompetent ruler, and some certain political figures seem to be attempting to rile the Serbs up against Bosnian Muslims and Croatian Catholics. It is likely that if no answer is reached, you might have a big problem on your hands.

Do you want to intervene?

Attempt to negotiate a purchase of control over the ethnically divided lands from the Serbians so we can then grant the other nationalities their own governments / independence without pissing the Serb's off. As they'll have received something for it too.

We need to find some way to just get people to be content living under the Swedish banner, which we can do with some effort. We need to prevent splintering and faction wars until we've achieved this though.

I'll be rolling in one more hour unless anons want to argue about this.
>>
If we break up the Balkans now we will lose support among the Serbs but it be helpful for the entire region in the long run. If we let the Serbs stay in charge and keep these lands, it will generate ethnic conflicts and possibly lead to revolts which inturn could lead to bitter resentment among the various other peoples of the Balkans towards us and the Serbs. If we make Bulgaria, Bosnia, Croatia and Albania their separate countries, things will be stabilized and essentially put on hold until we can actually make the Balkans unified under Sweden.
>>
>>1689439
I have plans to solve the efforts longer term.

For one, a large portion of the problems in the region stem from religious, language and other such differences.

A short term solution would be to enforce an edict across our empire and vassal states that all state documents must be in a certain language: Latin, Swedish or something else. Personally I would suggest Latin since that is what we plan to go towards longer term.

As to the religious problems within the region, these could easily be solved by resettling populations of minor religions to nations that share their beliefs. At a cost to our state of course, to compensate the people and the recipient nations.

Sadly these will at best delay the inevitable problem that the Balkans are claimed by too many people's to be represented properly in a Serbian empire. Thus we will have to incorporate their nation into our own longer term which can almost certainly be achieved by marrying one of our many children into their royal family.
>>
>>1689549
The Serbs are being troublesome here. Everyone else wants independence from them and there are Serbian who are trying to incite action against these peoples. We should just divide the lands towards their respective ethnicities and then in the future do stuff like issue edicts or possibly marrying our children to the royal families of these nations.
>>
>>1689566
Trust me such actions will end badly as it will send the Serb's to war.
>>
>>1689597
I'd rather take land from the Serbians, give it to other people and risk a revolt with Serbia rather than a conflict involving the entire Balkans.
>>
>>1689606
I can respect that but we aren't in a position to get into another war.

Look we can come back to this once we've dealt with the Vietnam and Korean wars entirely. As that'll free our armies and allow us to fight a conventional war if needed.

Plus we don't have the money to support such a war right now and we have higher priority things to deal with such as the rocket we launched. As I want to get round to the press conference for that and a few other projects.
>>
Let me just say that dismantling the Serbian Empire will result in essentially in an early Yugoslavian war, with a very hostile Serbian population against you.

Not giving concessions to the minorities will result in many uprisings of Croatians, Bosnians, Bulgarians, etc against the Serbians, which might have the Serbians lose power or might even break apart Yugoslavia. In addition, this isn't mentioning the potential for communists to come into power in Yugoslavia since they have quite a bit of the population's support and the opinion of the monarchy is very low. (and it's historical.)

If anons want me to do a force comparison, the Serbian Empire has the strongest army in the Balkan region, and dismantling the Serbian Empire would probably permanently alienate the Serbians. Giving them more land would increase their power and loyalty however.
>>
>>1689619
And doing nothing?
>>
>>1689635
Doing nothing will likely result in increasing tensions and anger, with the populace slowly considering extremist ideas/ideologies.
>>
>>1689641
Assuming it came down to a conventional war between our forces (French, British, Swedish, etc) and the Serbs, how screwed would we be?
>>
>>1689619
I think I'll switch from supporting the minorities to supporting the Serbians since the latter seem more manageable. Let the Serbs have at them and we can later tame the Serbs.
>>
When's the QM updating? A decision has been reached.
>>
>>1689656
The Serbians would get destroyed in conventional warfare but would inflict quite a bit of casualty. They'd likely resort to guerrilla warfare though, in the long term.

Back. I've just been busy for the past few days, so I'm trying to make bigger and more important updates for the time I've been dead.

Anyways, a month goes by after your decision to support the Serbians...

Major Events

You, of course, attend Charlemagne's wedding, which is a public affair... Which was surprisingly popular to most people. It was a rather loud wedding in a local cathedral, and you buy a manor home in the countryside for the newlyweds...

A few days after, Elizabeth's brother, Edward VIII, finally arrives in Sweden, and you erm... Well... Liz, of course, kicks you out of the house and sends you to go take Aulus to a baseball game... Eventually, you come back home after a somewhat awkward trip...

When Liz's meeting with Edward comes to an end, Edward heads to London in a plane, while Liz seems somewhat embarrassed and seems to feel quite terrible about something...

You, of course, can't help but poke at this, as you manage to corner her in a hallway the next day.

"...Hey, Liz? What exactly did you talk to Edward about?"

She can't help but look somewhat surprised.

"Well, you know... Talk about family matters, that sort of thing." She says, giving you an awkward smile.

"...Come on, I'm your husband. What did you talk about?"

"...Ren, it's personal business... Besides, I'm tired..." She says this and yawns, and... Well, most certainly stretches her back... With an erm... A noticeable... Well, should you even say it? A breathtaking sight of the royal navy...

"...Oh, right, right... Why are you tired?"

"...I've just been up, reading books, you know... Anyways, why don't you ask me later?"

She gives you a kiss, and walks away soon after, shaking her cute lizard tail... God she's perfect...

Minor Events

Your son, Viktor, is currently being tried by the Supreme Court for lying on his birth certificate. There is little you can actually do for him, without getting in major trouble.

Liz has forced you to go on a diet of non-butter related foods, citing that she's "worried about all that butter and meat" you eat. Of course, you make a show of your muscles, but she tells you that you need to eat your "vitamin C" or whatever, and is making sure to spike your food with nefarious oranges and apples, vegetables, and low-fat meat, no doubt intent on poisoning you...

Do anons want to follow through with Liz's diet plan?

>Yes. (...Renexizious's happiness will slightly go down, but Liz's happiness will slightly go up.)

You of course, drop by around Liz a bit later, when she's in the garden, and drinking some tea...

You take a seat next to her on the bench...

"...So, you want to tell me now?"

She sighs.

"Ren, I thought I told you it's family matters?"

"And you can't tell your husband this?"

"...It's personal, Ren."

"Now it's personal?"

"...It's a personal family matter, Ren. I'd rather not talk about it." She seems somewhat irritated.

"...Well, can you at least tell me what it was about?"

She seems a bit embarrased.

"Ren, Edward was just worried about me, that's all... Whatever you might of heard, he's just not really used to this."

"...Used to what?"

"Our marriage? Me being a dragon? Many other things?"

"Like most of your family."

"Well, your mother probably thinks I'm weird for being turned into a dragon."

"...Eh, nah... But Liz, I really want to know... What did Edward specifically talk about?"

"...It's not important, ok? It's just a bit of me clearing up confusion about you, and him not being used to our marriage... And hearing too many American rumors."

...You can't help but notice Liz is growing from being irritated to being uncomfortable slightly.

>>
"Alright, if it's only talk, I don't care, ok?"

"Right, thank you..."

You get up and kiss her, and leave.

A few days later...

You can't help but notice Liz is neglecting her usual habit of occassionally going on the news and trying to foster loyalty among people... Even neglecting her attempt to get elected in Russia.

...She's not really depressed or anything though, but simply seems to be less political and well... You can't help but notice she's not really constricting you at night or flaunting her assets around...

It doesn't take too long for you to put together that she seems to be rather embarrased and growing sensitive about her assets. She's probably worried people are paying more attention to them than her...

Could anons roll me a 1d20+2?

You of course, accept... And make sure to have a few "hollow" walls so you can more easily spy on the Brazilians.

Not too long afterwards, you hear about a bit of things going on in your country...

Good National Events

Due to the very lax gun laws, some capitalists have been coming up with new firearms for non-humans and, which are boosting your economy... And have given you a bit more choice.

One new gun company, marketing primarily for minotaurs, is called the "Ares Strategos"... Which have so far, come up with two firearms.

The first one is a shotgun, with a unique twist. It uses 5 gauge ammunition, and has enough force behind the shot to send a minotaur back a bit. It resembles a double-barrel shotgun at the moment.

There is also the new minotaur-made sniper rifle, sporting .50 caliber ammunition, and for your average minotaur, is like shooting a smaller shell. It resembles a Lee Enfield in design.

Bad Events

A large section of your immigrated minotaur population has been refusing to integrate, leading to a language gap. Many of the more trained minotaurs are being quickly becoming contractors for carpentry, construction, etc out of business, as minotaurs are usually capable of hauling, working more, and are willing to work for less pay... Not to mention, that some of the more globally interested folks find Greek architecture fascinating.

This has become a bit of a problem.

What do?

>...Protect the human Swedish contractors with subsidies. (The minotaur contractors will be put out of business, leading to minotaur unemployment. 50% cheaper construction on your palace upgrades.)
>Protect the Greek minotaur contractors. (Leads to human unemployement, but 50% cheaper construction in Stockholm in the future.)

There's only a few hundred mino's but there are thousands of humans.
>>
You of course, protect the Greek contractors and offer benefits for minotaurs to start apprenticeships, etc.

A sizable portion of the Minotaur populace are taking up trades such as electricians, carpenters, masons, and other artisan trades. However, the market for human contractors is diminishing...

Unrest among humans has increased against non-humans.
Unemployment will be increased in Stockholm.

Frankizka says that 60% of the human Swedish populace is disgruntled with the government policies regarding other species.

Another issue has also popped up, regarding the issue about "segregated" schools by your minotaur cabinet member, along with dealing with another issue, that of non-human teachers being allowed into the work force officially, as many are apparently being denied jobs due to their race.

Do you want to implement segregated schools?

>Protect worker's rights for non-human teachers. (...Will increase human racial unrest sharply, but will increase the quality for education. Increases communist and socialist opinion of you.)

You manage to secure diplomatic negotiations with the more rural population...

Which is of course, settled to be in a "televised" conference...

Liz seems to be trying to be a mediator, and seems quite intent on calming you down before you go, and seems somewhat worried about you... She's even made you lunch so you'd think a bit more rationally.

"...Liz, come on, I'll be fine..."

"I know you'll be fine dear, but I'd rather not hear in the news that you went on a rampage in the countryside..."

"Come on, I don't do that stuff anymore..."

"...Ren, you still do it, and I'd rather you not come off as some bully, or an evil overlord or something."

You sigh, and shake your head.

"Come on, I'm not killing anyone. Or enslaving them, or experimenting on them..."

Liz seems worried, and gives you a look of disbelief, in her cute little apron...

"...I mean, alright. I might do that once in a while, but I mean, come on... That's part of the charm." You give her a bit of a grin, and go back to eating your pancakes, while she rests her hand on her hip.

"Ren, if you come home covered in blood or I hear about you eating or killing farmers, I will be very, very disappointed in you.'

"...Seriously? I'm not going to be doing that."

"Well, I hope not. You need to be a good role model to your people, you know!"

"I am a good role model!"

"Ren, in case you can't tell, most people find you absolutely terrifying."

"...People have been terrified of me since I took power. Besides, I'm a dragon..."

"So? I'm still worried about you."

"Worried about me? What, do you think I'll get a splinter or something, stomping around?"

"Stomping around?" She says with quite a bit of suspicion.

She sighs.

Nah man just add my bonuses to >>1710328's roll. That takes us to 18 which seems high enough.

You of course, manage to greatly advance your industrial tech...

Thanks to you having a Enginseer as part of your research team, you get a bonus...

Roll me a 1d100.

Of course, you get a bit frustrated at the industrial tech, and after a bit, the techpriest walks in, and goes to his isolated corner of the lab. For some reason, he keeps glaring at you. Just, glaring... Something just tells you he's extremely frustrated at you.

You continue messing around, and think you've fairly advanced the tech, but you notice the tech priest comes over.

"...What are you doing?"

"Engineering?"

"...I see you are not burning incense, nor praying to the Omnissiah for safety or honoring the machine spirits."

"...What is a machine spirit, anyways?"

The tech priest is not entertained, and shoos you and your wife to the side, like both of you are children when it comes to this sort of technology. He takes it to his corner of the lab, and begins to mess around with it with his mechandrites or those mechanical arm things... He's even muttering in numbers and prayer or some shit, and goes to get some incense. Fucking hell...

Do anons want to take back your research, or just ignore this?

>...Ignore it, he has his methods, and probably can improve the tech far better then you can right now. (???)
>...What the fuck is this guy doing? He just stumbles into your experiment and takes over? That's it, your fucking having a word with him. (...The Tech Priest will greatly dislike this.)

You decide to leave him alone.

Eventually, you head back down after watching television and drinking a bit of beer, and notice that the tech priest seems to be finishing up...

The tech priest has greatly advanced your industrial technology to at least 1980, and likely if given more time, can advance it further...

There is a small cost to this though.

Firstly, the tech priest is adamant about "oiling" and "praying to the machine spirits" being in the instruction manual, and other superstitious nonsense, otherwise "angry machine spirits" might just say fuck it and break it.

Additionally, the machine itself has little in the ways of environmental protection, but greatly advances industrial capabilities...

What do?

>...Try to improve it yourself?
>...Ban the religious superstitious nonsense from the industrial machine. (...The tech priest will be dismayed, and your industry may slightly suffer from this.)
>...Ask the techpriest if he can make it more "eco friendly?"
>...Order it outfitted for your industry. (Will amazingly increase income by +25$ Million... But you'll likely need more resources.)

More money is always good, we can afford to eco-innovate later.

>>1712313
Except we will need more resources to sustain it, so I'd like to do some investing in that sort of thing before releasing / making use of it.

You decide to use it, and try to make it more eco friendly.

Roll me a 1d20+6 anons.
