1. factions will be allowed, but that'll start at Year 5
2. Instead of starting in the stone age or any other time, we'll automatically be starting in space with space-faring technology

Seems like we're going to be playing as the Verko, however, to traverse space, we must pick a drive that will allow us to travel faster than light and travel the stars! What will it be?

The Verko... A race that is so slender, and so blue. It lives on a world they affectionately have named Home in their language. Their existence on this planet was a trying one. A planet where the nights are long, days are short, and almost everywhere its just damn cold. They could survive of course, were it not for their sometimes insatiable hunger. Due to it being quite cold on their home planet, crops wouldn't necessarily grow all that easily. Another problem was decadence, from their beginning some Verko have simply thought of themselves as above working. Wars would be waged over a precious resource... Slaves. The Verko enjoyed having slaves in their home, Mining, and producing food. Of course, to enslave people, you need help of your own and many Verko have grown to be charismatic and excellent public speakers, expert in being likeable. When the first Verko scientists invented the Hyperdrive, they looked up into the stars in amazement. Some Verko thought of it as an opportunity, find aliens and get slaves? Others thought of it as an amazing breakthrough for Physics and would learn more. Others, perhaps the ones most concerned with their survival, would love to get off this freezing planet and start farming in a more reasonable place.

Over the course of a year, we complete construction of a modest spaceport, our first small-scale exploration ships, powered by nuclear fission are produced. They won't be able to last too long in space before they'll need to restock and refuel. The Spaceport does cost a fair bit of resources and finances, however its going to get us into space.

It seems as though these systems have nothing inside them, nothing but gas giants and barren worlds with decent amounts of resources, sort of a letdown, however we cannot let this prevent us from exploring more! Our explorers return with some samples of space rock and scans of the planets.

We find two amazing things... One planet happens to be an arid world, we can't survive on it... But it appears some industrial era life forms can survive.. They seem to be Arachnid, quite large life forms. Perhaps this is the sentient life we've been looking for all this time? However, the second planet yields us a far larger question.

It is on a continental world, in theory, we could inhabit the poles, the coldest places, and that's about it, however on the planet's surface, it is so large we can see it when the light shines upon it. A massive city, overgrown of course, however it can be seen from low orbit.. What could this mean?! No advanced life forms are detected on this planet. What do we do?

The Arachnid people are interesting. They have many parallels to us with a few differences. They all bow to typically a higher power, most specifically a High Priest or a King. They seem to be hard workers, especially in the mines, however the most striking parallel to us is that... They're slavers. Just like us. This fascinates us because it gives us a look into our society during the industrial era as well and learn about foreign society in general.

As for machine world... Through use of Carbon dating, we have estimated that this city existed approximately 600,000 years ago. Due to the ruin and overgrowth about it, it clearly seems to have been damaged in some way, shape, or form. Whatever existed of bodies must have decomposed long ago, however one things for sure. The destruction of this city wasn't exclusively due to the overgrowth. Something invaded this planet. Aside from that, our expeditions return with samples of the soil, they have confirmed the poles are habitable, but nowhere else for extended periods of time. Fascinating.

In other news, the food situation has gotten worse, however we can hopefully fix it.

We manage to develop our agricultural industry, farming whatever we can in larger quantities than before so we can feed our hungry population. Perhaps the food situation will prosper on the other planets. However we have set up several new large-scale farms through the course of this year.

I'll take it as double 52s, if 2 rolls are identical and for the same purpose, there is a bonus, the sum of the 2 digits is added to the roll, so its 52+5+2=59.

Both Efforts co-exist pretty well, long lines are found at the colonization agencies of people wanting a new life, and by the end of the year, we have colonized both planets. Some Verko have longed to travel the stars, and this is their chance. However Cutah is colonized to a more limited extent due to us only able to inhabit the poles, this brings us up to 4 controlled worlds.
In terms of science, our Society and Engineering departments are idle. There are also no spaceports around our colonies.

On Aesh and Tuth we find some mineral rich planets, However, in the Lor and geg system... We find something amazing. In the Geg system, we find a rare resource, we name it Pitharaan dust, its an excellent fertilizer, and will be useful in producing more food. Mining it will surely bring great boons, and we quickly set up claims on it, and carry them out.

However in Lor, we find something amazing... A Gaia world. An amazing one, a rarity in space. It is as some would call it, a fertile valley, and it is fully deserving of its title. We send down teams to inspect it, and they find a massive Obelisk, it hums, and if you get too close to it, you will get a severe headache. It has inscriptions on it we cannot read, however one inscription stands out the most, one brave expedition member goes out and endures a painful headache, but manages to read it, and returns, saying, "It says in our language... In All capital letters, I AM ZANAAM." We could certainly study it and gain much insight on scientific matters... However what could this Obelisk be? What was it created by? And why does it give us painful headaches when we come near it? It makes us ponder.. However, this is something we'll have to figure out, next time, on STELLARISCIV!

We begin a construction of massive size, using our technology, we construct a massive duel arena, called the Colosseum. It will have stands that are capable of holding 80,000 Spectators that will still be able to watch the show comfortably. It will have a state of the art environment simulator, so the "gladiators" or fighters in general will be able to have it take place on almost any environment we can dream up of. Using such simulations we can also simulate real live animals, and other enemies for them to go up against. This is truly an amazing wonder!

One night, a Verko woke up in the middle of the night, and began to walk towards the Obelisk, Sleep walking in a way, he kept walking, feeling no headaches until he touched it. He was a Psi enabled individual however he had not learned Psionics yet. This was not good, because the second he touched it, he woke up, astonished that he was the only Verko to able to touch the obelisk, he grinned with happiness. Then he felt a surge of energy in his body... At first it felt pleasant, but then it felt like something was building up in him... and Shortly after, he simply exploded into bits and pieces of a body. As if over a loudspeaker, a loud voice, a deep voice, a powerful voice, as if it was the voice of a God was heard in a mile radius.

Then, what could only be described as a Psionic Avatar, not a very large one however, materialized. Security forces have begun to engage it and army forces are coming very shortly.

Shortly after the Psionic Avatar materialized, about 100 Psi enabled Spiritualists were killed, by causes unknown, they didn't die of old age or any sickness... They just died. Then they disappeared. Zavik Kularxi starts running around the battlefield! He starts blessing troops, urging them to fight on, and by Wej they do! Then the voice just... Stops. 50,000 deaths are reported the next day. All are the lowest of slaves, criminals, and radicals. Sounds like the voice wasn't kidding around!

In the Brek and Erek systems, we find some Gas Giants and Barren worlds. To Put it simply, these are systems with nothing special in them or anything to give. In the Run system, we find large deposits of Zavorrian Liquid, which can then be heated to produce Zavorrian Gas, which, when in decently large quantities, makes people Cooperative and happy. Spreading this gas over a recently conquered planet will likely make the residents far more cooperative and accepting about our rule over them. This might make forcibly enslaving people easier too.

However, on Run, we find something interesting. We find a barren world. But its not exactly a barren world. It seems to have signs of life on it, albeit minimal signs of what seems to be pre-sentient. There are large structures on the planet's surface, though clearly not as advanced as a space-faring civilization's constructions. These are clearly pre-FTL. All evidence points to the fact that the Inhabitants of this world must have killed themselves off in a nuclear war. A shame. Shall we descend into the planet to see if we can find any traces of them?

Putting on our life support equipment we land upon the "tomb" world as we call it. Billions probably lived on this planet. They all likely died in the ensuing catastrophe. The Atmosphere is toxic to us and most likely all forms of life that have not adapted to this planet. Granted, some forms of lower life, like smaller plants and insects exist, however sentient life forms are all but dead. We begin to investigate the planet, looking at the remains of a dead civilization. We stand amongst a billion dead souls, maybe we should ask them if honor matters?

As we explore the city, we find a vault. An imposing door standing there, closed. After hacking into their terminals, we crack open the Vault door, and it slowly begins to open up. We are greeted by a saddening sight. Death. There is nothing but skeletons in the first room we encounter. Every single room, the primitive underground farms, the water filtration room, the living room. Nothing but skeletons and almost totally decomposing bodies. Some skeletons are smaller than others... Children. Looking at the farms and inspecting the soil, we find the culprit. Its pretty much useless, no longer fertile. Searching the logs of their computers we find messages. "Date: The Ninth of Jerub, 2001.
I don't know what to tell the people in this vault. We've run out of fertilizer, the soil useless, and food supplies are dwindling. I can't go out there... I can't look in their eyes and say we're out of food. What would they think of me... Oh God what have we done. Killed our entire species in a nuclear war. We've failed as a species. We don't deserve to live on. Our only hope for survival, this vault, one of its kind, is simply dying. Crews that have gone outside have confirmed its not safe to go outside yet at all. There's no hope to simply put it. No hope."
As we look closer, we find that the people in the vault seem to have resorted to cannibalism. We find a body, not as decomposed as the others but still pretty damn well decomposed. Near it is some unintelligible writing and the word "WHY" in their language. It raises the question, why would a species do this to themselves? What makes us happier is that we haven't done this to ourselves. Though this is a depressing sight, death by starvation, cannibalism... No hope.

We encounter a species that seems to have survived! A higher form of life for sure, but is it totally sentient? We don't expect so. Let's test it out. We come closer... Closer... Then someone coughs and the flies immediately turn towards us. To put it as one of the science officers said it, "Oh shit" then they began flying towards us at quite a fast speed. We begin sprinting back towards our ships, having returned back to space. That was a close one. However we believe that's enough exploration for now. A sad sight indeed. Maybe we'll come back? Who knows, someone might have survived.

TLM is a corporation that dedicates itself to altering perception through savory and unsavory means. For some reason their leaders, who are of a dynasty, are prone to undermining their company's public image. They even contradict themselves at times... how much it can be said to be fraud? Well, what we do know is that their unique characteristic is creating drugs for feelings so obscure they can't be named in one word, or feelings not yet known. Strange, but then again, what isn't when it comes to interstellar corps?

We begin to construct the first larger ship, we dub it, the Justice-Class Destroyer. We only have one of it for now, however it will serve as our flagship. It carries a Large weapon Module, a Medium Weapon module, and a small weapon module as well as significantly more armor. A fine warship indeed!
