You're lying in bed one night, thinking over the past week. Within that time, you've lost your third job this month, failed or dropped most of your classes this semester for the fourth semester in a row, and lost your grandma to cancer. You're having a pretty shitty time, what do you want to do about it?

You can choose to do whatever you want, but the most apparent options are
>go to sleep and worry about it in the morning

>post a short rant about it on your favorite chinese messageboard

>kill yourself
Beyond those, you can do whatever else (within reason).
>>

You decide to post a short rant about your life on your favorite board: /r2k/. You are called a faggot and told to kill yourself. That went about as well as you had planned. You waste your time on other boards until you pass out...

...when you wake up, you notice that something is different. You can't quite put your finger on it, but you're sure that the room that you were in had things in it. You also remember there being windows. You do have a few options in this situation, the ones that are readily apparent are
>explore your surroundings

>call your mom

>wait
And of course, you can still do anything that you want here (within reason).

You decide to stay silent for whatever reason. There is no sound for about a minute and then two knocks on the door. You finally hear a voice on the other side, it sounds relatively kind and feminine:

>Uh, hello? Is there anybody in there? I, uh, heard a noise from in this room...

Well that's strange. You've never heard this voice before, but it doesn't sound particularly bad. What will you do here?

You shrug and open the door, you're met by a large...woman? She's definitely human enough, but she seems to have some body parts stitched on and a strange knob where one of her arms should be. She seems incredibly surprised by you.

She physically moves your hand off of her breast, she's not particularly rough about it. You shrug and ask her why she's here, she considers your question similarly to last time, but answers much more quickly.

>I am here because I was ordered by my creator to check this room for...something. He wasn't particularly specific about what I was checking for...uh, maybe you're what I was supposed to be checking for? Are you a friend of the creator's?

She leads you into an adjacent room not blocked off by a door, there's a chair with a couch next to it in the middle of the room.

She leads you through several other fairly normal rooms. A bathroom, a few bedrooms, a living room, a foyer with a door that leads outside, and a couple of empty rooms similar to the one that you woke up in. You ask her if there are other humans here and if there are other ways for humans to get here.

>Well, the thing is that the only other human that anybody down here has seen is the one that I mentioned before that was supposedly killed. He was the one that spread that rumor around. And humans aren't the only weaker beings in this world, anything without magic or with little magic ability is generally considered a weaker being. It's not a bad thing, it just means that you have to fend for yourself a lot more often.

It seems as though there's some sort of hierarchy in place based on magic ability in this world.

You decide to heed Frida's words and enter the bar to find a goblin. Unfortunately, upon looking around the bar, it doesn't seem like there are any goblins to be found. You sigh and sit down at the bar, wondering what to do next. There aren't many people at the bar right not, you see a pink-haired woman with bat wings at a table by herself, a couple of vampires chatting over at another table, some sort of imp tossing darts at a board, and a very hairy...thing sitting at the bar a few seats away. The bartender seems to be some sort of black blob creature stuffed into a bartender's outfit.

>All right, so to give you some background on the whole thing, this city is broken into six sectors. Each sector is run by an incredibly powerful monster, Louie is one of those monsters. So out of the six sectors, two of them are run by monsters that would probably be willing to help me with my choker problems, another one would probably be willing to check you out for any abnormalities, and the last two non-Louie bosses could potentially help you get home. >That's something that I can answer. I'm sure that you already know that there's a bit of a social hierarchy that's based on magic power, that's what used to completely govern this city. There were only three "bosses" before all of this district bullshit, they were Louie, Ed, and Anabelle. After a power struggle between a couple of them, Louie decided that it would be best to call in powerful monsters from all around to help govern different parts of the city. So now we have Louie the archdemon who's in charge of the Main Sector, Ed the lich who's in charge of the Knowledge Sector, Uther the dragon who's in charge of the Stone Sector, Yud the...honestly, I don't know what the fuck Yud is, but he governs the Forbidden Sector, Tholdrin the yeti is in charge of the Winter Sector, and the one that we'll be visiting first will be an ogre named Chuck. His real name is something in Japanese, but he goes by Chuck around here to appeal to the locals. Besides that, there isn't much else to tell. You'll notice that different kinds of beings reside in different parts of the city due to their bosses having different tastes in architecture and other shit. Uh...oh yeah! One more thing: watch out for the Reaper. He's basically the guy that the higher-ups go to if they want someone wiped out. If Louie figures out that you're working with me, then we might have him to deal with.

You ask her where you can get some weapons.

>Unfortunately, you'd have to go digging around some of the other sectors if you want to find anything more dangerous than a kitchen knife or letter opener. Thanks to magic, monsters generally don't need weapons since everyone has some way of protecting themselves. This sector in particular is the strongest in terms of overall magic of the population, so nobody's found any need for them.

Looks like you'll really have to rely on Frida now. It also seems as though she's done getting ready.

You and Frida head out of the store and meet up with Lilian. After letting her know that everything's ready, you all head to the Black Sector...

...you finally reach the wall between the Black Sector and the Main Sector. A very large door on the wall opens automatically and the three of you step through, letting it close behind you. This new area looks significantly more run-down than the one that you were just in, the citizens also look a bit more demonic in this part of the city. The three of you begin wandering until you're stopped by two large men, one with a horse head and one with a bull head, both are carrying intimidating-looking axes. The horse-headed man speaks up.

>Ayyo, what UP?! What's a poor lil' white boi doin' in this part o' town with a pair of fiiiiine bitches like that? WHATCHU THINK, GOZUKIIIII???

He turns to the bull-headed man, who lets out an uninterested snort.

>HOOOOOWEEEEE, my nigga Gozuki here think that them's some FIRE bitches! How 'bout you two ditch this lil' boy and hop on this horse DICK?!?!

You assail the two animal-headed ruffians with puns, you also mention that they shouldn't bully your friends. The horse-headed man seems angered by your comments, while the bull-headed one doesn't seem to care much.

>Whatchu callin us, white boi? We'll fuckin' kill you, dawg! Let's fuckin' trash these mufuckas, Gozukiiiiiii-huh?

Gozuki puts his hand on his horse-headed companion's shoulder. He speaks in a deep, professional-sounding voice.

>Mezuki, my friend. I believe that we are frightening these three individuals, perhaps we could speak to them in a less intimidating manner so that the females are less frightened and more willing to engage with us in coitus. In addition to that, perhaps we could invite the weaker male to join us.

Mezuki deeply considers his friend's plea.

You ask the two for assistance with traveling through the Black Sector, you explain that the three of you are new to the area and need to see Chuck. Mezuki seems like he's about to say something, but Gozuki puts his hand on his friend's shoulder.

>I would be more than glad to assist you in this endeavor. This area is fairly treacherous and physical power bolstered by magic is the law in this particular area, therefore it would be wise to travel with someone such as I. Mezuki, please continue to stand guard here, I will return after providing assistance to these three travelers.

Mezuki makes an unhappy neighing sound, Gozuki shrugs.

>My name is Gozuki, by the way. I am one of the gatekeepers of this land along with my companion, Mezuki. We have been tasked with assisting the weak and guarding the gate of this sector.

You introduce yourself and your friends, Frida seems to have regained some composure and Lilian seems to be sharpening her nails.

>It is a pleasure to meet you three. Now then, there are three paths available to us: each is more perilous than the next, but the more perilous the road, the faster we will arrive at your destination.

Awesome, three choices.

You tell him that you'd like to go through the middle path.

>Very well then, let us begin our journey.

And so, the three of you set off through the middle path. Along the way, you see ogres and other monsters and demons running rampant and causing chaos. Many of them see Gozuki and keep their distance, making it seem like you're safe as long as you're with him...

...until you arrive at a large, mostly undamaged gate. Gozuki raises his hand, as if to tell you to stop.

>This is the gate to the central part of the sector, we must be careful because it is guarded by a powerful demon. If she senses any ill-intent or pure evil in your soul, then she will not hesitate to devour you...ah, there she is.

A large serpent with the head of a woman snakes its way towards your group from around the top of the gate, she looks all of you over.

>Gozuki...what are you doing here? Aren't you ssssupposssed to be guarding the main gate with that imbesssssile, Mezuki?

Gozuki nods, his face the definition of stoic.

>Indeed I am, I just decided to assist these travelers in their journey to see Chuck. Would you please open the gate for us.

The woman looks over your group again, her eyes lingering on you for a moment before looking back at Gozuki.

>Very well, I'll open the gate for you. Pleasssse wait...

She disappears behind the gate for a moment, Gozuki breathes a sigh of relief.

>That woman is incredibly temperamental, it seems as though we've caught her on a good day.

The gates begin to open slowly. All of a sudden, once the gates are opened enough, the woman lunges out from behind them straight towards you. Gozuki hops in front of you and blocks her with his axe.

>It seems as though I spoke far too soon, go now! Make haste! I will keep her occupied while you proceed!

Lilian and Frida, both of whom were behind you, grab you by the hands and rush you past the two demons fighting. You see Gozuki putting up quite the fight as the gates begin to close on their own behind you.

You look in front of you to see a much more well-kept part of the city. Lilian sighs, apparently relieved.

>That was concerning, but at least we made it. C'mon, let's go find Chuck. He's probably in the big building in the center of this area.

You see a much taller building in the middle of the others, that seems to be the one that she mentioned.

You begin to continue on to Chuck and ask what your friends think about the attack. Why DID she attack you? Lilian shrugs.

>I dunno, maybe Theo planted some evil or something in you.

You ask if that's even possible.

>No, you idiot. You can't just plant evil in people. Maybe humans are just naturally bad or something and you gave off just a bit of that kind of aura. I dunno.

She shrugs again and the three of you continue on...

...finally, you arrive at your destination. This part of the sector is surprisingly empty compared to the part that you were just in, you only saw a few demons and monsters here and there. The three of you proceed into the building, only to be met by a very cold breeze. A woman at the front desk calls over to you.

You decide to continue to Chuck, scoping out the woman's ass along the way. Your eyes are covered by a layer of ice as you try to get a look at the woman's posterior.

>Keep walking, you pig.

Lilian giggles as you remove the ice from your eyes and continue on...

...you exit the elevator and enter a large, cavelike room. On a throne at the end of it sits a huge man with red skin and horns, he seems to be using a laptop. He looks over at you and puts the laptop away.

>Oh, hello there. I wasn't expecting visitors...uh, how do you do? What can I help you with? I'll try to help in any way that I can, but I'm a bit new to this whole "running a sector" thing so please bear with me.

You explain Lilian's problem and ask him to help, you also offer to get him a shirt in return for his assistance. Chuck chuckles.

>I don't need a shirt, thank you though. I honestly don't really like wearing real pants or anything, but I was told to look relatively professional for this job...oh sorry, I was about to go off on a tangent. Now then, Lilian, right? Let's see that seal of yours...

Chuck's fingers glow and touch either side of Lilian's neck. All of a sudden, the choker on her neck begins to shimmer and eventually, it disappears.

>There we go, all better. Now, was there anything else that you needed help wi-

Lilian's arm had expanded and extended, and it was now impaled in Chuck's neck. You feel an incredible burst of energy from Lilian, as if something that had been trapped for a long time was finally released. Frida falls down in shock as Lilian begins to let out a sinister laugh.

>THANK YOU FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE...I PROBABLY WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN ABLE TO RETURN TO THIS FORM IF IT WASN'T FOR YOU TWO...

Lilian's skin and clothes begin to change into a strange, starry blob and meld together. She retracts her hand from Chuck's neck, leaving him to die in his seat.

Game was humorous, enjoyed playing it when I was around. Didn't know when you were continuing though.

Ending was straight up cop out cause you were bored or something along those lines.

As a long time GM I advise that if you get bored, be kind to your players and give them some sort of proper effort at the end even if it's still just one or two more posts - put that little bit of extra effort to truly 'wrap up' what you've established in the game, even if it's a loss.

Or straight up be honest with the players, "Guys, I'm bore/or I am not really thrilled with how things are going, I'm going to give up on this one. My apologies." etc.

Anyhoo!

Thanks for the game though, it was fun and you were fun to play with :)

I wouldn't really call it a "cop out." Touching an all-powerful eldritch death demon's boob is kind of asking for a quick death in my opinion, I just tried to make it more humorous by adding in the second response as an option as well. I'm a little harsher when it comes to these kinds of things. I'll probably start another quest at some point soon (not today though, I have plans!), because I'm not actually bored of questing.
