For the first time in millennia the Necrotic Armada truly lays siege to another world as a would be conqueror rather than a liberator.

The skies over Kanda flash with light as ships glow with reentry or explode as they're intercepted. Wreckage and bodies fall across the arid world like a grotesque rain. Yet it was not enough to stop the tide of Necrotic ships breaking through the Osjiic defenses. Carriers land heavily on the dusty ground and belch forth their swarms of Reconstructed soldiers and vehicles.

Beachheads are thrown up outside the cities still in control of the Osjiic, Battletombs and Hearses rolling out into defensive positions as Drakes and Gargoyles take to the air to fight alongside Nails against the bulky Osjiic fighters and dropships. Formations of Osjiic tanks and troop carriers divert from targeting the captured anti-orbital cannons to clash with the undead already on the ground, hover tanks trading cannonfire with Crawlers and Brutes.

Predator Eiton commands his gathered soldiers to defend the walls of the compounds but even with the zombified Osjiic adding to the ranks of his Reconstructed troops the void tyrants are proving to put up more of a fight than he or Valresko had expected. Osjiic troopers leap over the walls of the compound shouting their warcries and clashing with the undead. Eiton does his best to defend the compound he commanded from, a blur of distorted light and arcing blasts of energy that leaves corpses smoldering or bleeding in his wake.

The Armada had succeeded against the Osjiic in almost every conflict they'd fought against them. Yet now on the imperials world they begin to learn how determined their warriors could be. Ripples of Voidflame detonate across the battlefields as Voidsingers unleash their power against the undead, their own flesh and bone searing with their unholy might.

Still, ship after ship of the Necrotic Armada land or rain down drop-pods to the planet. If the Osjiic would not give up their world easily then they would drown in the tide of Reconstructed undead.
>>
So will there be any thematic changes now that you had your realization on how an undead faction works?
>>

Probably not
The major change is probably going to be in the other factions getting more badass

Completed Research:

>Ahkam Hardlight Shield: Similar to the Sunscale Hardlight shields this device relies on multiple projectors to enhance the durability of the hardlight constructs

>Virus Bombs: Use of these weapons is considered a war-crime by multiple factions including the Confederation, UON, Pirate Clans and Osjiic Empire-States.

>Wraith Dissection: In what is perhaps a first for any faction you have managed to slay and preserve a Wraith corpse allowing for dissection and study of the alien being called a Wraith.

Unlocked:
Advanced Hardlight Shielding: Medium
Hardlight shields and barriers get a slight boost to damage resistance

Special Weapon gained:

>Flash Fever: A powerful engineered virus composed of at least five different strains of virulent DNA that targets a wide array of organic life. The virus rapidly reproduces, infecting potentially thousands in a few short hours as it can be spread through the air and water. In living beings, floral or fauna, it causes the body to heat up uncontrollably leading to massive dehydration, delirium, and eventually death, leaving behind withered corpses that still expel the airborne virus for some time after their death. Although tests have shown that Reconstructed won't die from exposure and infection they do slow down and become lethargic as the Cauldron fluid that acts as their blood is infected and boiled away.

>Viral Warfare: Slow

Wraith Dissection results: Intense study of the Wraith corpse reveals that its physical form was that of an unknown alien race, likely from a pre-FTL planet the Sun-Eater had devoured. It's body began to decay rapidly after its death and return to corporeal form but the Think Tanks were able to extract what they believe to be undamaged DNA from the subject and inspiration for their research into anti-Wraith projects.

>Anti-Wraith Technology gets a small boost in research time
>Unknown Alien DNA gained

Valresko continues to help command the invasion of Kanda from his battleship, tirelessly sending out orders to the swarms of Reconstructed that clash with the Osjiic troops and war machines. He looks on in disappointment as the Osjiic begin to retake one of the orbital gun compounds from the Reconstructed that do their best to defend it. Shaking his head he sends a quick order to one of the many battleships in orbit over Kanda.

The Osjiic forces leaping over the walls of the compound were emboldened by the way they were driving back the undead. The Stalkers and Looms were spectacular combatants when it came to the stealth and sabotage missions they were designed for but they did not have the firepower or numbers to hold back the attacking void tyrants. A sense of victory started to swell through the Osjiic until their radios started to shout for a retreat. They look up and see an object streaking toward them from the upper atmosphere, glowing with reentry moments before the kinetic slug launched from the Necrotic Battleships hull cannon impacts with the force of a nuclear blast. The cannon shatters, the void reactor powering the weapon detonating and adding to the explosive force that vaporizes the undead and osjiic that had fought over the powerful weapon.

In the wake of the attack Valresko has the ships above target their drop pods to the remaining three compounds to reinforce the soldiers there. Heavy pods of metal and bone crash into the earth with great billows of dust among the ranks of the Osjiic attackers, doors dropping open as undead launch themselves against the large warriors.

The two Osjiic controlled cities were having to split their attention between the controlled compounds that still send their powerful beams of destructive light against their ships still struggling in orbit and the rapidly growing beachheads of Reconstructed cropping up outside their borders. The Ahkam dominated city continues to descend into anarchy as the abandoned soldiers of the serpents panic and the slaves and prisoners rise up against them where they could.

Punisher Muic and the Revenants Lorgul and Jareth contact Valresko, asking where they should be deployed with their own armies across the planet.

Where shall they be deployed?
>Write-in
>>
Muic should be durable enough to be dropped from in the sky(not space). We could send her and some shock troops behind enemy lines. We could send Jareth to deal with the Akham city so that we can salvage as much as possible. Lorgar should reinforce the assault on the other Osjic city.

Now remember that Void powered entities and technology are weak against Arc. It's how the Ahkam have been able to fight back against the Osjiic despite their superior military might
>>
>>1040842
Very well, have Muic quite literally dig in the emplacements surrounding the Osijic Cities in preparation for an extended siege and repeated counter assaults from it's inhabitants, in order to pin down the Osijic ground forces while we get the rest of the planet under control. Lorgul will command the defense (and counter attacks) of the anti orbital guns, while Jareth shall lead the conquest of the Akham cities, with our forces divided between them by Valresko.
>>
>>1040897
Completely forgot,thanks.
>>
>>1040912
Just to be clear here, the reason I think we should encircle and contain the Osijic within their cities right now is so we can concentrate all of our ground forces on taking them once they're freed up. This is their home and their fortresses, and they are damned good fighters. I'd rather wait until we can ensure an overwhelming advantage over them before assaulting them.

not to mention once they are contained within their cities we can demand their surrender, if they refuse we open a planet wide com channel showing on of their cities as we bombard it with the Algae bomb that dissolves flesh, and then have camera's fly in to show the results. once the process has been allowed to set in, we once again request their surrender, failing that, we then do it again to the next city...

Also started scribbling a thing before reality kicked in...
>>
>>1040842
So far the plan looks like
>Muic creates bulwarks and emplacements around the Osjiic cities
>Lorgul helps defend the remaining anti-orbital guns
>Jareth leads the ground battle against the Osjiic to drive them back to their cities

Sound good or were there other suggestions?

As Kanda falls under siege of your armies you leave the fine details to Valresko and your generals, confident they will perform admirably. Turning your attention elsewhere you send your mind across the Armada.

Jor's surgery was finished and he remains on the battleship, resting as the necromancer siblings design his replacement limb. Glutton Spheres continue to help ease him out of his overdose of Necrotic energy and color begins returning to his skin. He would be forever marked by the trial and he would continue to change as he grew in his own power but for now he was starting to resemble his old self at least marginally. In a few days he may even be mistaken for fully human, if tired and scarred. Scans from the medical reconstructed show his bone structure had started to shift and mutate but unlike the Blackscale or necromancers of the old Armada or Council, his mutations started off subtly and less chaotic. You were curious to see the end result of his transformation but were in no hurry to speed it along.

The Caretaker and the Think Tanks sent to assist it were constructing a massive Cauldron around the fossilized remains of Ruscuv. Her reconstructed soldiers are moved and sorted to be stored in newly excavated chambers to make room for the reanimation process. You hope that little mote of power you gifted to the first Cauldron would do as you had planned but the results would only be clear upon her awakening.

Back home in his Temple on Horizon's Drops moon Nekris languishes in a personal Cauldron as he was rebuilt using the biomass from slain Ahkam he'd hoarded and kept in stasis. Already his face and skull were reformed, the bones of his arms formed and being remade layer by layer of muscle and chitin. He watches the conflicts over Kanda while flitting through other screens, giving commands for the construction of the Arc Temple on Rukors moon and observing Vle'Karak as the serpent awakened, sealed off from his imprisoned kin.

Your mind slots into the Harbinger then as it stands on the bridge of the Destroyer sent to parlay with the Pirate Clans. The capitol ship emerges from FTL, it's combi-drive allowing it travel quickly to the relatively close system of Myrshyn. Only moments later and already they were greeted by a hail from the fleets patrolling the system. They welcome you and several frigates and cruisers move in formation to guide the necrotic ship toward Pequann where the Clans had gathered. At a glance you can tell many of their ships were originally Osjiic, Confederate or Ahkam, retrofitted to fit the Pirates aesthetics and you can see ships bearing the marking of the Dagger, Spear, and Shield clans throughout the system.

>cont
>>
>>1041658

Pequann swells as you approach it, clouds covering most of the planet and hiding dark blue oceans and vibrantly green and red land, the trees of alien planets in a constant struggle for domination. You had heard from your Pirate recruits and converts that the planet hand once been terraformed in the distant past, perhaps even before the extinction of the Netu homeworlds. Animal and plant life from neighboring systems left behind to create a patchwork ecosystem with creatures from Horison's Drop, Veraga Prime, Red Tree, and several other worlds. Ancient terraforming structures dotted the landscape, hidden under millennia of growth and soil.

The Harbinger glides through the ship toward the Coffin it would take down to the surface, robes similar to the ones you yourself wore and the Necromancers hiding it's form. Guided down to the surface by a flight of fighters and gunships you look down at the scattering of cities dotting the planet. Your ship is led to a city built in the shade of a massive atmospheric generator that loomed over it like a mountain, it's hollow form hiding more of the pirates populace. Ships of multiple clans lay in rows, crowding the landing pads and the plains outside of the city but a place was open for you landing.

Setting down the ramp extends from the Coffin and you glide forward in the body of the Harbinger, a handful of elaborately designed Arc Troll guards marching out behind. They were creations of the Necromancers, their armored forms graceful with artistic flair, ridges of bone and chitin marking their forms as the occasional spark of Arc energy from the Condensers in their torsos flicker across their forms. They only carried shields and spears, only there because they were expected but each, including the Harbinger, held a self-destruct mechanism that would reduce them to necrotic dust should the Pirates attempt to capture and study them.

A gathering of many races waited before you but they consisted mainly of Netu. Clanship Captain Troma, the blood-brother to Krotur that had met Jor on Horizon's Drop, steps forward to look at the Harbinger with a measure of suspicion, "Welcome to Pequann, refuge of the Clans of this sector. We were expecting Jor or even Jadyk to visit us here," he states rather than questions.

The slender undead bows its head, circlet of polished Dreamstone glinting in the afternoon light, "I speak for Jadyk with his voice and intent, my words are his own. Necromancer Jor is away on a personal task and sends his regards," the Harbinger straightens to its full height, eyelevel with the tall Netu.

The netu pirate looks at the harbinger suspiciously but nods, "Very well. Come, the rest of the Clans wish to speak to you, mouth of the Armada," they say and turn to guide the undead procession.

>cont
>>
>>1041767
They board an open air hover transport, Troma staying with the undead with their own guard eyeing the trolls curiously as they are brought into the city proper. The architecture of the city was a motley assortment, taken from many different cultures. People of many races stop to watch procession pass, standing in the streets next to markets or leaning out of windows to spy the undead diplomats. Netu, human, kosda, vorh, osjiic, esat, kesh, epikor, and even yuyut, races of all factions finding a home with the pirates it seemed.

You expected to go into the ancient atmo-generator but the transport turns on its border and stops before a large, strangely shaped building. It took a moment to realize it had once been a battleship sized vessel, long ago stationed on the planet and added to over the ages. Buildings sprouted from its hull like mushrooms on a fallen log, houses built up against its side. A large gathering of many races awaited there but mostly netu of various ranks stood waiting.

Troma disembarks from the transport and you follow. There was hushed whispering in the crowd as they stared and to both your relief and surprise you sensed less hostility in them than you had expected. Parting before the pirate captain and the undead the crowd allows you to pass into the hull of the battleship.

You are guided through the converted ship, hallways expanded and rooms repurposed into living quarters where once armories and barracks had been. Memories started to come back from just before you defeat when images of the Netus great fleets were distributed among the old Armada. Ruscuv herself had fought against the Netu before the shattering of the Undying Council and the death of the old Armada.

Expecting to be taken before the gathering of clans you are mildly surprised as you are guided to a large room with several desks and bunks inside. Troma motions to the room and nods, "If you would wait here, I will gather the other Clan Captains and the Lords. It should not take long," he glances at you and the Arc Trolls then snaps his chitin covered fingers and a human steps into the room, "Laran here will bring you anything you need if you want while you wait."

The human smiles nervously and bows low, clean robes of white and gray shrouding her form. A prosthetic eye clicks audibly as the looks at the Harbinger, "Is there anything I can get you while you wait?" she asks with only a trace of hesitation as Troma departs, leaving the Osjiic and Netu guards outside the room. Mostly to hold back any curious on lookers than to keep you imprisoned in the room you suspected.

Would you like to speak to Laran and question them of anything before the meeting with the Clan Captains and Lords?

Can a Lich do More with necrotic energy and the wormstars Runes than just throw bolts of it around?

I mean Could jadyk create a Giant Lifedraining tornado around himself.
Could he create Shortlived constructs of pure Necrotic energy.
With enough energy going through Kyn'tc It teleports back to him, Can he teleport to it?

Let's break the water by proposing a peace treaty of sorts. We do not desire war with the Netu clans and would rather form more mutually beneficial ties with them. If they are willing to respect our sovereignty and that of our captured territory, we are willing to permit them free passage through it and even sanctuary within it should they need it. We furthermore offer access to food, supplies, or material and tools to repair ships as well.

Then tell them we would further offer to open trading between our factions, of ships, weapons, and other forms of technology to sweeten the deal if they are willing to offer offer more themselves.

Things we could ask about getting in return are pieces of captured alien tech we haven't yet got (they're pirates, I bet they got tons), more netu for temporary positions in the Necrolyte Armada, and help with looting because by the wormstar we are embarrassingly bad at it.

Well, yes, but it helps to tell the other guys that.

Particularly when we are an ancient lich once allied to the polity that ate their home world.

Doubly so when said home world was reportedly destroyed in retribution for our destruction.

We weren't allied with the polity
We were part of and subservient to it in fact we personally destroyed many of their worlds

The Harbinger stands silently before the human for several minutes, the assistant looking around nervously and wiping away a trickle sweat from her brow. Finally your voice issues from the Harbinger making them jump in surprise, "If you would be so kind, tell me about the leaders of this gathering I am to meet."

Laran nods and wipes her hands on her robes for a moment in thought, "You already met Troma. He is a Clanship Captain under the Dagger banner, loyal to the Dagger Lord Erex. They are..." she hesitates then continues, "A little upset about the loss of Krotur but know that conflict with the Osjiic is never without casualty. The return of the Clanship was greatly appreciated as I'm sure they'll mention. From the Spear Clan there are several Captains, the only one of any significant note is Captain Brunva, a human. She is the favorite of Spear Lord Naran and rumors say she might become the first non-netu to become a Clan Lord if Naran ever passes away," they let out a small chuckle then coughs when you stare at her impassively.

"From the Shield Clans they send two Captains and their Lord. They are a distant clan but they will bring word from this gathering to the other clans such as the Lance, Armor, and Bulwark Clans among others in different sectors. Clanship Captain Gilken is a kesh who you may have some...resistance from. They do not like the...undead," she says after a moments hesitation, glancing at the Arc Trolls standing immobile by the doorway, "Shield Lord Tranava seems to be the most eager to meet you and the one to suggest this meeting here but they are guarded about their intent."

The Harbinger nods and speaks with your voice, "Thank you Laran. This will be helpful," After a moment you continue, "Was Captain Krotur well liked?"

Laran nods, "He was one of the favorites of Lord Erex. The clanship that was Kroturs was once Erex's before they rose to Lord."

Weaponsfire is traded behind walls of shimmering hardlight deployed around the edges, Requiems with attendant Dirges shielding against bullets and redirecting grenades and rockets back at them. A Coffin angles itself down to the beachhead facing the most resistance but a missiles from a heavy wartank smashes into it's side and it starts to careen wildly before it erupts open from the inside moments before the craft detonates.

Yet it was not debris and body parts that rained down. No, it was something much more deadly and furious. Predator Muic and several heavily armored berserker trolls leapt from the burning craft, the general surrounded in a haze of heat distorted light as she plummets to the ground, her voice shouting out in a warcry. The Osjiic look up in alarm as the massive undead hurtles toward them, her bulky form smashing into a tank attempting to ram through the barricades of the undead outpost. Shattering it's hull she drove it into the ground and the osjiic quickly turn their gaze to the trolls descending on them with their jump-packs slowing their fall just enough to make sure they didn't splatter the ground. Their attention quickly turned back though as Muic launches herself from the wreck of the tank, shield and ax in hand. She did not have the giddy excitement that Lorgul or Eiton had when they launched themselves into combat, but rather a grim determination and ferocity that makes you proud as you watched.

The earth shakes and splits before her, jagged spines of rock lifting up to knock down charging troopers, tipping over hovercraft. With powerful swings of her ax she cleaves several osjiic down with each blow, spitting molten stone from her mouth that sears flesh from bone and warps metal armor. The Osjiic charge crumples before her, the undead rallying behind her as more and more troops land on the surface from dropship or pod.

Leaping up, launched by a pillar of stone she comes down with a great crash among the Osjiic ranks, crushing several under her even as the ground quakes. Several quick motions of her hands and the ground splits, widening and cracking open under their feet creating a small ravine between the Osjiic attackers and the undead beachhead. She falls back as the Reconstructed surge forward past her, pausing only long enough to lift up several nearby boulders or ripping them from the ground. Placing her palms against them they crack suddenly, glowing from within before she telekinetically lobs them at the Osjiic. They shatter in the air and rain half-molten stone among her enemies, another tank having to be abandoned as the searing stones damaged their hoverpads and warped their cannons.

With quick motions she creates more and more of the sudden ridges and ditches filled with glowing magma, shaping the ground around the beachhead until there was a barrier created around it that would make it difficult for the Osjiic ground forces to break past. Satisfied she launches herself into the air once more and a passing Drake captures her in its talons, screeching loudly as it carries her rapidly to the other beachheads to reinforce.

A Void-Terror strafes the Osjiic forces approaching one of the anti-orbital compounds with beams from its voidscreamers and missiles raining down caustic stonestar developed acids among them. Several tanks open fire on the small nimble craft, several of their cannons striking it and destroying a chainflenser turret. Not willing to allow his precious ship to be destroyed the front of it blossoms and unleashes its deadly cargo. Revenant Lorgul cackles madly as he falls alongside his troll bodyguards infused with void energy outside the walls of the compound already under siege, his ship returning to orbit guided by its Think Tank.

The void powered undead landed among the osjiic and wasting no time they launch into a brutal melee. Cor'a'Ghul swings mightily in his grasp, pulping osjiic soldiers and crushing vehicles. Swirling spheres of void energy are summoned in his grasp and launch wantonly into the soldiers to detonate with the force of missiles that send bodies and wreckage flying. His undead heart swells with joy as he finally tastes the unrestrained combat he yearned for, no longer constrained by the need to preserve boarded ships with plenty of targets to vent his frustration. His Trolls, blazing with voidflame swing voidbone hammers or wield screaming void-repeaters.

While his arrival quickly broke the charge of the Osjiic attempting to capture the compound, defending it long enough for more reinforcements from the fleets above to land the third anti-orbital gun was faring quite poorly. Missile-launching hovercraft unleashed a volley of explosives over the compound, shooting down coffins and drop pods before they could land. The Osjiic troopers quickly began to overtake the compound, slaughtering the Shadows and Looms that attempted to defend it. As the void tyrants raged through the compound they made their way to the reactor only to find a Think Tank integrated with its controls. They were only given a few moments to realize their folly and their screams of dismay were cut short as the reactor overloaded. A corona of voidflame erupted on the horizon, drawing Lorguls attention for a moment as the compound was incinerated.

With Eiton and Lorgul fighting bravely to keep back the Osjiic, they managed to break their charges and they retreated less than an hour after their attempts to retake the compounds.

>Punisher Muic has secured the main landing zone of the Armada forces continues to reinforce the others

For the pirates I would argue against giving them terraforming tech but we are more then happy to terraform it for them.

Pirates will always be in need of materials or services if we give them the ability to serve themselves without us then being nice with us may not be as profitable, how ever if pissing us off costs them sanctuary and access to those service they will be more in lines to behave

So plans are offer them a peace treaty, sanctuary and offer to terraform their home worlds for them to reclaim in exchange for peace, open trade and.. What else do we want from them?
>>
>>1043052
A standing trade agreement. We kick ass at refining metals and us and the Armatocere are the masters of biomass.THe pirates are nomads(at least they are now)and they must have great connections even if they are space gypses.News, rare tech and information on other undead. Also we can offer to show them more of Horizons Drop, just to demonstrate that we have power and are getting stronger. And above all, speak to them like a lord talking to his opposing numbers, not like a tyrant speaking to children.
>>
>>1043052
Not to nitpick, but at present we lack the terraforming tech ourselves, unless you count those biodome things we got off the armatocere. Actually, they might be interested in that tech at some point, I'm sure it would allow them to build some very comfortable yet discrete settlements in the void with that. But I agree that we should stick to offers for services as opposed to really significant tech trades right now.

As for things we could get in return, we could use a way to recruit Netu soldiers for the Necrolyte legion. If we agree to peace we won't be able to take them in by force any more, and the Pirates bring a very valuable set of skills to our army. Speaking of said skills, we could ask if there is anything they could teach us about efficiently looting enemy ships. Our rolls have been so consistently bad that we've probably been missing out on quite a few useful pieces of technology, so hopefully something they can offer us will give us a bit of an edge there.

Barring that, I suppose we could always just pay them to steal fancy pieces of alien technology for us to reverse engineer.

"Would these be acceptable?" Laran asks when she returns carrying a stringer of locally caught creatures that could vaguely be called fish. The Harbinger nods and the woman distributes a fish to each of the trolls who promptly swallow the offerings with a single gulp. She smiles back at the tall slender Reconstructed, glad she could be of help. As you had waited for the clan leaders to gather she'd asked if you or the Trolls wished for any refreshments after running out of things to talk about. Humoring her you let her fetch the "treats" for the undead even though they rarely ate except for the times they were in combat and needed to rearm themselves with ammo for their bone rifles by cannibalizing the dead.

She turns to the door as Captain Troma returns, "They have gathered and are ready to meet you, Harbinger," he says and stands back.

You nod and give a short bow to the human, "Thank you for you assistance, Laran," and she hurriedly gives a low bow in return, a hand wrapped around her other fist.

Departing with the netu captain the Harbinger glides forward, robes barely touching the ground. Troma glances at the undead diplomat but says nothing. Guided through the halls they stop at a large doorway and osjiic move forward to haul it open to allow you passage inside.

Past the threshold you step out into what was once the large cargo hold, it's floor gone and replaced with the earth below shaped into various steppes of height. Pirate citizens stood above, crowding the catwalks around the large room. Soldiers stood near the walls, weapons hanging on straps or in holsters but within easy reach of their owners. Near the middle, overlooking a deep pit that was stained with the dried blood of many races, was a platform where a collection of netu and several other species stood. By their elaborate weapons, armor and the multitude of trophies adorning their forms you rightfully guess them to be the Clan Captains and Lords.

The Arc Trolls stay back by the door, eyeless gazes sweeping silently across those gathered, as you drifted forward and hover over the pit you could only assume was typically used a fighting pit for entertainment or punishment. Bowing low before them then you straighten, looking between them for a moment before you voice projects out, "I am honored to be here in the presence of the Pirate Clans. I am the Harbinger, the voice of the Armada and Lich-Lord Jadyk of the New Necrotic Armada," the audience hall fills with hushed murmuring and you continue, "My words are Jadyk's and my intentions his. It is an honor to meet you, great Clan Lords of the Dagger, Spear and Shield. The hope of the Armada is of peace between our factions."

A heavily scarred Kesh, their singular eye replaced with an advanced cybernetic, barks out a laugh, "An undead proclaiming a desire for peace?" they spit at the ground and fold their arms that you see are mechanical in nature, their words spreading through the crowd.

>cont
>>
>>1043169
The Lord standing under the banner of the Shield turns their head to speak to the Kesh but you cut them off, "Captain Gilken, was it?" you say in the chirping language of the Kesh, those gathered look at you in surprise for a moment as you continue, "I know my kind, the undead and the old Necrotic Armada, are responsible for many, many atrocities against the living of this galaxy. It is my hope that I and my Armada can help heal and mend these wounds that are still felt to this day."

The kesh scowls but they say nothing, instead letting their Lord speak, "We Netu have suffered more than most from that long ago war. We did not believe there was such a thing as a good-hearted undead but," they motion to a small group of pirates that stood below and to the side. You recognize them as the pirates that had returned to their Clan, "The testament of those you held were...complimentary. For certain they said at first fighting your kind was a gruesome affair but afterwards, during their slave-debt, you treated them with a kindness that was foreign to your kind," the old netu leans forward on an elaborately carved cane, "We three clans, are willing to listen."

Dagger Lord Erex, wearing Krotus Clanblade alongside it's twin, leans forward, the netu speaking through a mechanical box similar to Sapling Slrrts, their beak sealed with metal from an old wound, "We of the Dagger Clan, whose peoples now serve in your Necrolyte Legion, are those you must convince most of your intentions. The loss of a Clanship Captain is a great blow."

Spear Lord Naran, standing next to the sole human on the platform probably the Captain Brunva that Laran mentioned, "You are not the first undead to rise up from the ashes of the old Armada. Wraiths still haunt the stars and zombies and wights appear on backwater worlds. How can we be sure your Armada won't turn on the Clans and lead to another Ravening?"

What shall you say to the Pirate Lords to prove your worth and intentions?

What was the ravening?
>>
>>1043225
Another name for the event that was the extinction of their homeworlds by Akka-Tor and her wraiths
>>
>>1043176
I shall speak pliant then, after Jaydks Betray at the hands of the wraith Akkator he was bodily destroyed how ever my lord is most durable and could not be given true death by those who had defeated him and so his remains where hidden and Locked away. My lord spent those countless centuries in the dark with nothing but the memoirs of his deeds to keep him comfort it was during this time that our lord realised that without the living undeath leads only to stagnation and decay, upon his release we have discovered the universe to be greatly changed, the planetary alliance disbanded and those who served them discarded by those who rose to power while the Osjiic dogs and fanatical serpents fighting over it's corpse.

There is so much pointless death, so many stories ground into ash and dust never to be heard or shared.

The Netu are one of the few races we have encountered who have not immediately attacked and so we would like to use this opportunity to turn a new page of peace and prosperity we can offer much such as sanctuary within our borders and peaceful coexistence. Etc etc offer some tech etc

Emphasise that we don't truly want anything from them only trade and peace and sharing if knowledge as trusting us may seem hard but we are nothing if not patient and trust takes time and deeds as even a base knowledge of the netu history shows how little words can mean in the grande scheme of thing
>>
When mentioning peaceful coexistence and how we have changed show them our capital and images from the recent arena opening
>>
Save terraforming as either a trump card or if we do well,a parting offer.Mention other parties that have benifited from us,such as the stonestars, denizens of Ruckor, the Armatocere, and how well we have treated all captured faction members, not just the dagger clan.

Ah, right.

In that case, in addition to the fine points made here >>1043261 tell them of how we suffered at the ephemeral hands of betrayers from within the armada and how much it cost us. Try to play up how the Netu were let down big time by the alliance in the wake of the ravening and how we have both been badly mistreated by the ones we once called allies, and how we revile those who betray their word as more than just about anyone. We learned the hard way that simply sharing the same nature as another is not a measure of their worth, but the choices they make.

"It is a grave story. Do you know the history of Jadyk's downfall?" you ask and look around those gathered, "Jadyk was indeed a champion of the Wormstar, the sentient sun that joined the Undying Court. Yes, the Armada unleashed unspeakable evil and suffering across the stars, Jadyk among it's greatest champions," the crowd murmurs and the pirates look down at you suspiciously but you continue, "Just as the Netu were the greatest champions of the Alliance of Planets. Without the strength of your fleets the Alliance would have failed. It was the Netu that were key to breaking the Armada. Jadyk never fought directly against your fleets but among the dead the names of the great Netu captains and battleships were spoken with respect and fear.

Both the Wormstar and the Netu were betrayed by their allies. The Lightdrinker Akka-Tor gave the secrets of the Armada to it's enemies, allowed them to overthrow the Undying Court and slay the Wormstar so she could gain a fraction of its power for herself. When the Wraiths descended on the Netu worlds and unleashed the Ravening the Alliance of Planets did nothing to help those left homeless and adrift with no where to call home," your voice carries out into the silent hall, "The Lightdrinker became the Sun-Eater and both Jadyk and the Netu were brought low by her actions."

You sweep a hand out to gesture to those gathered, "Imprisoned for so long in the dark emptiness of that cell I only had my memories and much time to think. I came to the epiphany that Undeath without Life is stagnation, a surrender to entropy. Without life there is no meaning to undeath. Upon my freedom at the hands of the living I have found a galaxy suffering, suffering even so long after the destruction of the Armada and dissolution of the Alliance. Void tyrants conquer worlds to fuel their greed and empire. Megalomaniac serpents pose as gods and control the fanatical.

So much pointless death, so many stories reduced to ash and lost to time, never to be heard or shared," you shake your head in sadness. Around the audience hall voices whispered to each other then fall silent as you speak once more, "I know the pain of betrayal and having your people taken away from you. I know that trusting my kind is a hard request."

You look up and see the gathered lords and captain looking at you intensely, "I have no need for food, sleep, sleep or even material wealth. I am immortal with increasingly unfathomable power. My people have everything they need. Food grows freely in the streets of my city, homes are provided freely, they choose their own paths, and every need provided. I have freed those enslaved by the serpents, Stonestar and Ructu living freely under my protection. I have slain Ahkam and destroyed the Deathshead Guardians. I have faced the Solar-Blessed and given shelter to those they would call heretics and slain with no thought. Wraiths have died on the point of my spear."

"The Daggers were one of the few factions to approach me peacefully and I wish to embrace that kindness. Our people are quite similar. We are the disparate and forsaken and betrayed. Our homes and our people were taken from us and we suffer for it. But it is a new era and I wish for it to be one of peace and prosperity between our people. I offer trade and friendship. I offer the bounty of my worlds and the protection of my armies. The Clans that extend their hand in friendship will be able to travel through Armada territory freely and visit our ports, protection will be provided for those within our borders. These we offer the Clans for a start," you say finally and the Harbinger bows, clasping its hands behind its back.

The audience hall was almost silent if not for the hissing of whispers and murmurs between those above while the Captains and Lords stood silently. Finally they turn to each other and speak quietly.

Captain Gilken steps forward and Lord Travana shakes their head but does not stop them. The kesh juts a claw at the Harbinger, "Tell me this, did you offer this friendship to the citizens of Clour after driving off the Osjiic? We know of what happened in the Andai system and how they are now missing. Rumors and spies are harder to contain than a plague," he says, quoting an old Pirate saying.

"Where are the citizens now?" he asked broadly, motioning to the audience as if to involve them, "They are your slaves, are they not? Forced to fight in your armies ignorant of anything like the slave-debt?" He demands and looks at you expectantly, his cybernetic eye focused intently on the Harbinger.

What shall you say to Captain Gilkens accusations?

The citizens of Clour have since been repatriated to my own home and are currently being educated on the ways of the new necrotic armada, and I assure are being treated just the same as any other recent immigrant to my city. Which is to say they are entirely free to live however they see fit. I have no need of slave labor, and I only expect the soldiers I capture to serve in the necrolyte legion out of course. Were it not for the fact that Clour is the tomb world of my sister lich ruscuv, and most of them were deployed there as a cover for the attempted defilement of her tomb I might have allowed them to remain there.

...Rumors and spies are harder to contain than a plague? I am a living skeleton, I have no need to keep secrets from my people, all they need do is ask. how ever, many seem reluctant to. ahem, engage me directly for information so rumors are bound to happen regardless of what i tell them... honest seems to be a rare commodity in this new Age.

Also in regards to Clour, their citizens are being processed, a period in which we must access how willing an individual is to intergrate peacefully, ask those who have been freed, it is a process all who fight against us must go through, eventually they may be allowed to return how ever Clour belongs to the Armada, long before the conferderate decided to move in... In fact you will find the colony was created as a cover for the tomb that the Conferederates have been failing to enter for quite some time.

Funny how the children of those so against the Necrotic are doing all they can to learn and miss-use it themselves.

And besides the Confederates are most likely a bit reluctant to talk peacfully with me at this point, hopefully when we can come to some common ground i can release those who would wish to return to them, but seeing a galaxy spanning civilization that lets its citizens live in poverty and squallor is beyond my understanding, Why would you, if you have the power and resources allow your people to live in such a way?
>>
maybe point out seomthing like this

Also Look at me, If you where in combat with the Osjiic taking incomming fire, the blood in your veins pumping with Adrenaline, and I came around the corner, would you be willing to hold your fire long enough to talk? I think not.

And So far the only thing I have found of the confederates is their... pathetic attempts at wielding the necrotic, Are you aware they use zombie cyborg assassins? They are playing with powers they should not, and though the results are...creative, the craftmanship is very, very sloppy

Instead of answering you turn the gaze of the Harbinger on the old and injured pirated you had released from their slave-debt to return to their people. You reach a hand out, palm facing toward them, "Did you see any slaves in my city? Did you see anyone who did not choose their own tasks?"

They crowd turns to them and the group freezes for a moment. An elderly netu, their once shining black carapace fading and dull with age and a Reconstructed arm, steps forward, "We did not. Even to us who accepted the slave-debt, we were given a choice. I stayed in the city and cooked at a kitchen like I did in the gally of Captain Kroturs ship."

You give a short polite bow to the netu. Looking up to Gilken you speak, "What use do I have of slaves? This body you see before you, this Harbinger. It is the mouth I speak through, I am Jadyk and I am not. Every single one of the Reconstructed is an extension of my will. I have hardly any need for slaves to do my labor.

The citizens of Clour were in fact an invading force upon the ancient home of one of my kin. The Confederacy came to that world in an attempt to raid the tomb of my sister to increase their power. You've seen their cybernetic undead and the weapons created with old Armada technology.

I give every prisoner of war and conquest a choice. Something that few other factions grant their prisoners. I give them a choice. Live or fight. They can live in peace among my cities and enjoy my generosity. Or if they so choose they can join my Legion. The idea of the Legion was not even my own I must admit. Created by a former Voidsinger of the Empire that serves at their commander and his loyalty is second only to my First Necromancers. They fight in my name and die in my name only to rise up and serve me for eternity," you point a finger toward Gilken, "In time, when tension be me and the Confederation of Planets ease, the citizens of Clour will be given a chance to migrate back to them. Just like I did these honorable souls," you say motioning to the group again.

The crowd murmured and Gilken looks around the hall then back to Lord Travana who shook their head, "That is enough Captain Gilken," The Kesh snorts and steps back in line alongside the other Captains of the Spear clan. The Netu Lord tilts their head quizzically in the Harbingers direction, "You make a compelling case, Lich-Lord. It is indeed a hard request to listen to offers of peace and barter from a talking undead. However, as my Captain said. We know of what happened at Clour. We know the Armatocere were involved. We also know of a war between them and UON being interrupted quite spectacularly."

>cont
>>
>>1043659
Ah there it was, you think to yourself. You nod, "The Armatocere are among my closest allies. It was they who provided the seeds to the orchards that feed my citizens. Their charity and good graces saved the Ructu from starvation after the Ahkam plundered their world to feed their armies. Yes, I defended them from the UON, another faction failing to learn from past and stealing the secrets of the power Necrotic."

You glance to those gathered around you, "Did you know that invasion force used Flash Fever virus bombs against them? Do you know what that does to an Armatocere Treeship? Even in the Cold they burn like a bonfire." There was a chorus of horrified gasps that rippled through the crowd and you were satisfied to see all of the Captains and Lords expressions turn to distaste.

Looking up to Travana once more, "Would you like me to introduce you? I also hear rumors of the Armatocere providing homes to the unfortunate much like the Armada does," you pause a moment then continue as a thought occurs suddenly, "Think of how that would sting the Confederates, the Imperials and the Serpents? The Pirate Clans and the Undead Menace friends with the Trees, the one faction they all want access to for their technology. From my interactions with them they are willing to help those they consider friends. You yourself said you know of how they stepped in to assure control of the Andai system as sovereign to the Armada. Would they so ignorantly commit to an alliance that could possibly lead to a war with one of the largest factions in the Curou Sector?"

There was muttering in the crowd then and Travana nods as if that was what they wanted to hear, "Perhaps an introduction could be made sometime. But really, the urgent matter now is this trade you speak of. What could you offer us and what do you think we can offer you?"

What are you willing to trade with the Pirate Clans as a first step to friendship?

Sanctuary
trade of general goods, We might be an uneatting breathing monstrosity, but our citizens are not and would enjoy creature comforts of varying variety
Exchange of information, anything relating to the undead, or those misusing its powers.
Any knowledge regarding the wraiths sightings, lore, weakness's
Offer freely the Anti Wraith Beacon Technology as a peace offering.
Request peace between the Armada and the Pirates. non aggression pact etc

And as an added bonus, mention we have knowledge on Terraforming and if we can come to a lasting agreement we would like to see the Netu's homeworlds be regrown to allow the pirates to once more live under its skys.

Maybe ask for random plant/animal samples for crops etc as well.

>Could jadyk create a Giant Lifedraining tornado around himself.
Could be possible yeah, such a thing would be pretty taxing if sustained for too long. Could probably create Void powered ones as well since a lot of void attacks deal with vortexes of energy and gravity waves. Solar would be a swirling pillar of flame.

>Could he create Shortlived constructs of pure Necrotic energy.
If you mean like a necrotic energy elemental, probably not.

So current suggested offers to the Pirate Clans are
>Sanctuary in Armada Territory
>Allow Trade of General goods, essentially allowing them to come to Iti'a'Ropku to trade with the living
>Exchange of information pertaining to the undead as they appear in the galaxy or those using Necrotic technology
>Offer Reality Beacon technology
>Peace between Armada and Pirate Clans
>Terraforming (Armada does not currently have Terraforming technology but Armatocere do)

Any other suggestions or restrictions?
>>

Here

>>
>>1046129
Take terraforming off until they offically join the armada
>>
>>1046056

>>
>>1046129

>>
>>1046129
I'll third the terraforming removal
>>
>>1046129
Yes.

But don't mention the terraforming until we have broached the subject with the amortocere
>>
>>1046129
Should we start trading captured ships?
We have a surplus
>>
>>1046262
If they can find something to trade for it, sure. I'd say we should offer to sell them our own ships, but they kind of do give people cancer. Maybe we could slap disclaimer on it at the dealership.
>>
>>1046262
Hell we could build them ships
>>
>>1046152
They will be unlikely to join us anytime soon. At best it would be a very close partnership.I agree that it is too soon to mention terrafroming but we shouldn't wait that long because it could be the thing that firmly places us in their good graces.
>>
>>1046301
We can make regular style ships that aren't necroticly powered
>>
>>1046321
What im worried about is them being pirates and backstabbing us immedietly afterwards

I do however agree

We should do the normal shit like save there asses give them cool shit and knowledge on trade routes and then once were on there good side we slam that shit down and basically lock them in,otherwise its way to early and we get betrayed or way to late and it doesn't matter
>>
>>1046383
Well we should sell them on void drives because we can manufacture the fuel for them and they cannot

Setup a need for a product that we are the sole supplier of trade it for stuff we can use inside the confederate area as merchants so we can push more necrokelp on them
>>
>>1046383
They seem cautius but I dont think that they would betray us after such a precious gift.Oh sure, one part of them might but overall I trust them to not stab us in the back at this point(as in say they are on our side but are lying)unless hare was a lot to gain.
>>

"The Armada offers these things to the Clans. Sanctuary within our borders from those that would do you harm. Those that accept my offer can bring trade to those living under my protection and to witness that I have no slaves in my Armada. Iti'a'Ropku, the Home of All Souls, is open to all who would visit in peace," you say as the Harbinger spreads its long thin arms to encompass those gathered. It turns its gaze back to the leaders of the Pirates.

"I know the Wraiths are a burden on all things, living and undead. I offer this, free as a sign of my dedication to this cause. I will grant you the knowledge to protect yourself from the Wraiths, the technology to make the incorporeal flesh again for your weapons to find purchase," the crowd's buzzing grows louder at that and the captains glance at each other before you continue, "One thing I must ask though, even if you find fit to decline my offer, is that if word of undead uprisings were to occur or if old Armada ruins are discovered that I be informed. For the protection of all I believe my Armada uniquely suited to dealing with these events."

Those up on the platform turn to speak among themselves for a time then turn back. Dagger Lord Erex leans forward with a slight bow, "Your offers are indeed generous, Lord Jadyk. If you would give us more time to discuss and hold a vote."

You give your own bow through the Reconstructed diplomat, "Of course. I am nothing if not patient," you say and drift back to join the six Arc Trolls awaiting the Harbinger. The human Laran guides the undead back to the room as the Captains and Clan Lords retire to a separate chamber to deliberate.

The crowd slowly files out of the audience hall and the few flatbody Gargoyles that hid among and within the walls watch and listen closely. The general mood of the crowd was quite mixed, many believing your offers to be a trap while others either argue against them or quietly speak among themselves about how it is too tempting an offer to refuse. Several mention the system of Refuge and shake their head in sadness.

The Pirate Clan leadership has gone to deliberate on your offer. Do you wish to attempt sending a Flatbody Gargoyle to spy on the meeting?
>>
>>1046423
Yes
>inb4 they have a way to sense it
>>
>>1046423
No. If it got found that deal a fatal blow to whatever trust we've cultivated among these people. It isn't worth risking just so we can hear their decision 5 minutes before they publicly announce it.
>>
>>1046423
Best not to lose what little trust we have gained.
>>
>>1046423
Nah, let it be
>>
>>1046440
50/50 they are suspicious as of us and spying in them would tip it against us

But on the other hand I really want to know if we can trust these fuckers
>>
>>1046532
I trust that they will look out for their own interests,at least until we become good friends. We have shown strength and surprising generosity so I doubt they will actively plot against us, though they will likely have contingency such as if we attack them they are ready to retaliate.
>>
>>1046532
What could they possibly do to us if they decided they didn't trust us? They have neither the equipment or desire to conquer planets or wage genocidal crusades against the undead. If they did opt to stab us in the back we could drive them out of the system in less than a day, now that we know where their base of operations in this region is.
>>
Shall we merchant prince these fuckers then? We an sell them reconstructed servants so we can have eyes and ears a lot of areas

Void engines and fuel
Necrokelp

Why haven't we given ten bundle of Necrokelp?!
>>
>>1046423
Deciding it would be a poor decision to risk sullying the agreement you have the Flatbody Gargoyles slither their way back outside where they could observe the pirate city in secret. It had taken then a while to hide from notice when they'd escaped from the Coffin where it was watched almost nonstop at the landing strips.

Letting the Harbinger and Arc Trolls wait patiently in the side room after dismissing Laran you turn your mind to other matters in the Armada.

With no significant alerts concerning Kandas invasion just yet you look through a handful of others that have piled up.

On Rukor where the Reconstructed have been laying the foundation for the new City they have made an interesting discovery. Aquatic troops send below to clear out areas for groundwork and underwater equipment they came across a strange organic growth that grew in abundance as trillions of microorganisms replicated and stacked together. The patches that had been cleared away were already growing back significantly the next day. A Thank Tank asked a ructu about the organism and the revealed that it grew wildly in the months after the hurricane season after nutrients are stirred into the water and commonly grazed upon by large crawling mollusks during their spawning season that kept it contained. Unfortunately the mollusks were nearly driven to extinction because of the Ahkam forces love of their flavor and as such the organism had been growing unchecked along the coastlines.

Research Gained:
>Rukorian Coral: Medium
>>
>>1046662
Sadly I need to take a break. When I get back we'll finally get to see how the Invasion is progressing.

Also that research was because I rolled a 99 to check the progress of the construction. It is progressing steadily as well
>>
>>1046672
Sweeeet
>>
>>1046662
Could clone up a few of these mollusks and deploy them in areas worst affected by this coral explosion?
>>
>>1046672
ALso I should mention that with the sunscale cloning project the worker clones are still being brainwashed in their comas while waiting for Valresko to be present after the Invasion
>>
>>1046682
Brainwashed is such an ugly word, Come now grave you got to sell it, they are being, hmmm educated in the ways if the wormstar
>>
>>1046662
As the battleship Vle'Karak commanded from was hauled into port in Horizon's Drops dockyards the Reconstructed began to examine it for damage to repair. As they worked they realized it had a unique feature that was missed after the end of combat and looting had begun. A large harness lay in storage near the bridge where Nekris had fought him. It was linked to the hull and the Think Tanks believe that was how the Ahkam was able to charge the hull of the ship with Arc energy to destroy the Crit Crawls that had covered it.

Research Gained:
>Hull energizing: Medium

(This was something I forgot to include with the looting)
>>
>>1047099
Ah, I was thinking about that. Does energizing a hull with a particular element grant it a resistance to it's conflicting element? Could the Akham have used this technology to give their ships a means of mitigating void based attacks?

With Muic busy reinforcing the beachheads using her Lavafather granted abilities while Lorgul and Eiton protect the powerful anti-orbital cannon compounds from being retaken by the Osjiic this left the task of routing the attackers and driving them back fell to Voidknight Jareth and the Disciples.

Wide paved roads that ran across the plains and hills around the cities with bunkers and checkpoints spaced along their length. It was by these roads that the armies of the Osjiic traveled to their battlefields and deployed their artillery along. Under the orders of Valresko flights of Nails flying alongside Gunships strafe the roads with weaponsfire and missile strikes, necrotic flayers and lightning cannons raking across troops and vehicles in harrying attacks.

Jareth follows in their wake inside his Void-Terror with several of the Disciples, their powerful voidscreamer weapons amplified by their own power. The undead's armor linked with their ships acting as a powerboost to their reactors and weapons, the strikecraft extensions of their own will. Acid-drop missiles splatter and burn against tanks and troop carriers forcing them to be abandoned by their pilots and cargo. Drakes swoop down from the sky in sharp dives as they attack with flayers and bone rifles, their claws snatching out to yank Osjiic from the ground or their vehicles to rip apart and toss their pieces at their comrades. Bombardments from Battletombs rolling across the plains helping disrupt the lines of advancing soldiers that moved to reinforce those attempting to recapture the gun compounds.

Finally the Osjiic began to reverse their course breaking the line of reinforcements as they fell back to regroup around several bases that hunkered alongside the roads. The bases were larger than the bunkers and watchtower checkpoints, proper defenses in the form of manned turrets on watchtowers with artillery vehicles arrayed outside their walls. The launched volleys of missiles and cannonfire against any craft that approached in their range, keeping the air mostly clear around them of Reconstructed.

Splitting up the Disciples between himself and Valresko's command Jareth emerges from his Void-Terror, the craft departing for rearming and repairs with the other voidknight strikecraft. He lands among a gathering of undead behind a ridge Muic had risen up before she had moved on. After giving the Disciples their orders they split up and with a mental command the undead tide rushes forward.

Aerial craft rush at the nearest of the bases the Osjiic grouped up around and they quickly begin trading fire with the anti-air guns. Nails protect the Gunships by shooting down or leaping in the way of missiles, groups of them peeling away with the Drakes to occupy atmospheric fighters launched from the cities.

As the aircraft struck against the watchtowers and lines of artillery attempting to disrupt them the undead vehicles rushed across the plains toward the fortress. Battletombs rolls along in formation protecting the Hearses carrying mixes of Talons, Stingers, and Trolls. Chariots race ahead in the shadow of the aircraft, their pilots dodging gunfire from Osjiic hunkered down in trenches or from the bunkers along the road. Several are gunned down before they get close but there were too many to stop and their gunners unleash their powerful flayers and chain-flensers. Several lacked the typical gunmount, instead housing rocketpods that launched their explosives against the bunkers shattering their walls.

Osjiic defended themselves quite admirably, shooting down Chariots and targeting the approaching vehicles rumbling toward them as the ground shook. Soldiers popped up in rows along the outer trenches to fire grenade and missile launchers. To their credit several Hearses do go down or explode sending chitin and metal shrapnel flying. The Battletombs focused on shooting down the artillery shells the Osjiic launched but as they approached modified Coffins lacking a proper cargobay swoop in and deploy the Crawlers lashed to their underbellies behind the line of approaching vehicles before flying off again. The large Reconstructeds bellows and shouts ring out across the battlefield as the large bone cannons rearing up from their backs, the powerful rounds striking the rows of osjiic vehicles or falling among the trenches sending up great plumes of dust and smoke with the occasional body sent careening into the air.

Across the planet the scene was repeated across the multitude of battlefields. Air strikes softening and distracting the defenders as vehicles approached carrying ground troops and attacked at range. Dropships swooping in to deploy large Reconstructed like Brutes and Crawlers. Coffins flew recklessly over trenches and walls of the fortresses as Scourges and jump-pack Trolls leaped from their cargo bays before they could be shot down, the Reconstructed raining down on the Osjiic.

As the vehicles neared the armored Hearses accelerate past the battletombs and their armored sides slide open. Swarms of Talons and Stalkers leap out and dash across the plains, the nimble humanoid undead running and leaping on all fours across the dusty earth. They began to run upright as they neared, their twin-linked shardspitters and necroflensers firing against the Osjiic. The soldiers rose up from the trenches to meet the undead, gunners firing over and around the shieldwalls created by the shieldbearers that were common in the Osjiics armies. A tactic they shared with the Armada as lines of shield-toting Stingers and Trolls marched forward.

Blaster and gunfire is traded as the gap between the two armies shrink. With the Scourges flying above attacking with shardspitters and bone rifles and Trolls already spreading chaos among their ranks the Talons and Stalkers still running headlong against them begin to launch themselves at and over the line of shields. Claws sink into armor and flesh as they scrabble and slash with bladed fingers that glow orange-white with heat. Forearm mounted guns are fired pointblank against the soldiers or claws seeking out the weak joints where armored plates met. The Osjiics either ripped the smaller undead from their bodies and threw them off or cut them down with the vibroblade bayonets on their rifles.

Their lines start to fall to chaos as the undead tide continues to bear down on them. Coffins continue to deploy additional troops and large Reconstructed near the frontlines to keep up their momentum. Crawlers launch out temporary hardlight barriers allowing groups of Stingers and Trolls to rush forward freely and advance. The ground continued to rumble as more Brutes appeared stopping across the battlefield and shouting out. Napalmthrowers in their wrists ignite, spraying the sticky purple mixture that ignites violently with the air and sweeping the blazes across the trenches. Screams of the dying filled the air among the cacophony of weaponsfire and explosions.

Although the Osjiic fought back valiantly, stubborn knots of resistance holding the line as the undead swarmed around them. The imperials fought nearly to the last as they slowly succumbed to the inexorable tide of Reconstructed soldiers and weaponry.

Voidsingers dotted the battlefield, ripples of distorted light from the explosive attacks they unleashed marking them clearly to the undead. Dirges accompanied the Disciples as they focused on the void-powered quasidead, absorbing or weakening their attacks when they tried to defend themselves. The Disciples challenging them to single combat they squared off forming small pockets of clear space among the chaos of the battlefield as they dueled. Time and again the Disciples found themselves victorious over the Voidsingers despite many providing adequate challenges for the undead champions.

>>1047697
The lines of trenches began to break and fall apart, the troopers falling back as they fled with jump-pack and hovercraft pursued by Chariots and Scourges in the air, their chitin wings buzzing loudly as they danced erratically in the air. Gunners in the fortress watchtowers and battlements fire against the approaching undead. The rumbling underfoot began to increase as the Osjiic fled to the safety of their fortress walls but the Osjiic began to look around in confusion as the walls began to shake.

As the undead closed in on the walls the earthen floor of the fortress courtyard suddenly splits open and out bursts the still spinning drill end of a Devastator. Two more sinkholes open and unleash the large tunneling vehicles and hatches pop open, bone repeaters and necrotic flayer turrets emerging to fire on the shocked Osjiic around them. Their drills tilt open and the machines vomit forth their cargo as Berserker Trolls flood out and launch themselves against the Osjiic, their cleaverswords, axes, and bladed bodies carving into the flatfooted soldiers.

From the tunnels emerged new horrors, Manglers curled into tight ovoid darting into the air then unfurling into a terrifying array of limbs and weapons. Powerful tentacles lash out, scooping up Osjiic crushing them in their own armor then throwing them against their comrades. The armor-shelled Reconstructed reach down and pull apart soldiers from their groups, wrenching gun emplacements from the earth and rising up the walls to attack those on the battlements.

Across Kanda fortresses fall to chaos as the hidden Devastators rise up in their midsts and unleash their deadly cargos, their tunnels serving as passages for more groundtroops and the deadly Manglers to emerge. Jareth watches the chaos the plans Valresko has created come to fruition. He rode on the hull of a scorched Battletomb that held several Voidsinger captives, guiding the undead hordes from fortress to fortress. In time those still standing began to fall back to the cities as well, unable to stop the tide of undead.

Jareth folds his arms across his chest as the undead halt their advances and begin to form lines outside of the cities and hopefully out of range of their artillery. Dirges and Requiems quickly begin digging out trenches with the help of the Devastators and the undead begin hunkering down to lay siege to the Osjiic cities. Coffins and Bloat Carriers streamed down from above, deployed soldiers and vehicles then returned to orbit with cargos full of captured prisoners and injured.

The Osjiic have been pushed back to their factory-cities!

Victory!

Nice. By the way, what happened to the necrolytes? Did we not deploy any in B'Nan?
>>
>>1047751
Not yet. Valresko did not want to risk them with the ground invasion. The plan is for the Voidsinger Commander to lead the Necrolytes into combat once the cities are breached.

The Legion has many Osjiic soldiers in their ranks and they're going to be the "guides" once the Armada forces get inside since they'd be somewhat familiar with how the Osjiic lay out their cities.

Guys I'm worried, we haven't seen much of the masked in some time, but we have been keeping out mask on us all this time.
Did we ever study it? Why not throw it into a cauldron? A specialty made one, in a chamber no force or power can penetrate or influence, because I shudder to imagine what would happen if the masked got there influence into our cauldron network.
We know very little about the masked, there is only person in the galaxy they dose, the sun drinker.
One day we will fight her, one day we will ask her a few questions
I have a few worries about the masks schemes, what happened to the first immortals
>>
>>1054148

We aren't powerful enough to dick around The Masked yet you idiot.

Unless you are forgetting, literally EVERY TIME we meet A Masked they freeze Time, it doesn't matter if it's "Local" Time only or not, though I doubt it considering our Cauldron network and other assets never report a lag in their connection to us, so it's probably Galactic-wide at least.
>>
>>1054165
I'm not sure if the mask can even directly interfere except freezing time sans a single person. The only interference we know of is their theft of the first Immortals and the annihilation of a solar system and those could have been done through an intermediary.Either way they most likely will not purposefully try to destroy us unless we repeatedly go against them. Also I believe they may view us as one of the very few beings who have a chance at killing Aka'tor, so they will want us obedient, but alive.
>>
>>1054183
For new, there primary reason for helping us at first was because we were entertaining, if we win our conquest the galaxy will be very dull to them. So there will come a time when they throw everything against us.

There is only one way to do anything proactive regarding the masked. We have to put ours on.
We will do it eventually, might as well do it now. For all we know it might just be a way of contacting them
>>
>>1054200
Besides, no matter what happens it won't end the quest, only throw in a interesting event or twist.
It could do everything, it could do nothing, But nomatter what it won't kill us. Grave likes telling this story just as much as we like playing, so he wouldn't give us that option it it would kill us.
The curiosity is killing me, I've lost sleep over wondering what will happen, so let's make it happen
>>
>>1054200
Yes,they will eventually turn on us,but that will only be when we have WON.While there are still threats, especially Aka'tor, they will just fuck with us at worst.Even if we do conquer the galaxy they may give us a few centuries to allow us to create amazing wonders before they decide to have a giggle at our expense. As for the mask...its reacted to stimuli so its not just a mask.I doubt they would use it to control us because every puppet master knows a being that is mind controlled is usually less effective.I propose trying it on when our generals,Jor and maybe a few others are there just so they can restrain us if we get stupid.
>>
>>1054128
Vampires would probably work as spies, diplomats, and specialized necrolyte soldiars

Werewolves would work as a form of sleeper agent and specialized necrolyte
>>
>>1054247
Having everyone there is a good idea.

Another idea we need to do is make is so the armada can live without us.
If we should suddenly die or become corrupted all we have archived would not only be lost but much of it would live on like the armada of old and bring nothing but distribution.
We need to establish a clear like of succession, and to compartmentalize aspect of it to be able to work independently.
The top general of each branch of our army would form the new necrotic court with us above it, but if we should fall it should be able to function without us
>>
>>1054571
As it stands Jadyk has told the Deep Rot to obey Jor's commands when he is indisposed such as when he was in meditation with Valresko taming the Solar.

His basic plan for if both he and Jor are either eliminated or indisposed the first members of each order (Voidsinger Commander, Lorgul, Agona, Nekris, and Valresko) would become a council that need to vote through the Deep Rot for major decisions

But really, I'm open to suggestions or plans since you folks the players are Jadyk
>>
>>1054244
Ask Jaydk slips on the mask he immediately becomes aware of the deafening silence and oppressive darkness, his eyes quickly become accustomed to the gloom as he realises he is back on his throne in his ancient tomb, gazing about the fallen pillars he begins to realise however that there are no lights, no treasure no reconstructed and with a mounting horror he comes to realise that he never broke free of his imprisonment and as the reality of his situation becomes clear the only sound he can hear reverberating of the stone walls, is the grinding of his own teeth
>>

>>1051432
You did not understand that every necrotic ship in the armada is not just sentient, but has antibodies in the form of the hundreds of undead teaming through their halls.
What i am getting at is, anon binge the archives and stop looking dumb
>>
>>1054809
Not my first thread, I was here since thread 1, yes the armada will live on without us to an extent, but it won't have the same operating philosophy, our generals are too eager for combat, they must be ordered to restrain themselves, they enjoy killing far too much. Each one is too much like how we were in the old armada. They would need a few thousand years in a stone cell to calm down and truly understand the value of life
>>1054776
In shock and horror he drops the mask, he finds himself back on the carnal vault, jor looking at him with concern. The sound of buzzing all but a faint echo in the back of his mind.
Could that have been a trick of the masked? Have they wanted to drive him mad? What is reality and what is the illusion?
The more he begins to question this the more subtle power over the reality where he is free he has. But that could just be his expanding powers.
This question bothers him for all his days of conquest. He has already won the galaxy, and a basic archeology scan has uncovered what looks like an old armada tomb or prison.
This being the most interesting thing to happen after your conquests ended you personally go to open it.
On a whim you slip the mask on still not certain what world is real. To your surprise you hear something new, the sound of digging equipment through the stone of your tumb.
When the last wall falls you find yourself looking at yourself.

Armada ships actually have a base skeleton crew as in minimum required number to operate unless specified otherwise if you reread the battle where we drive of the arkham matriarch several ships were self detonated by enemy forces fighting their way to their power generators before causing then to detonate

It's why I suggested the airlocks + devoured swarm defence mechanism for all ships, troops run in, doors lock, devoured swarms pour in, means we don't dramatically increase ship cost by pumping them full of undead that may never see combat

So with the next thread it will deal with the siege and invasion of the cities.

By that time you will be able to deploy Chitin Choir assets to the front lines. The statues can be mounted onto vehicles or set up inside Reconstructed outposts.

Iti'a'Ropku is started to see clusters of them sprout up overnight across the city, adorning building corners and walls, hidden in alcoves along the streets and canals. A large amount circling the upper rings of the Colosseum, their voices and hymns adding to cheers as the crowds gather to watch the gladiator fights or the night races through the city, the air thick with the smoke of narcotikelp.

>the air thick with the smoke of narcotikelp.
Yes, all according to plan.

We should start selling it to the Netu should they agree to humour our peace offering, though i am sure there will be a... trial period but we can always offer it as a gift with a "we have noticed mortals have a general affection for these materials so here is a gift [several tons] of our finest crop. To be divied out among the Clan leaders to do with as they please.

Also i was thinking of serviced we can offer the clans and things we can ask for in exchange.

Services rendered:
Necrokelp:
Undead pets: who does like a pet... that doesn't need to eat or excrete pollutants on your ship.
Dealing with undead infestations: should they find them. [dealing is such a broad term so it leaves us room to either negotiate, relocate or just outright wipe them out.]
Void drives and Void infused fuel/ammunition. They want them, but have no access to a steady supply of the void.
Refuge: If they need somewhere to hide, or just refuel, come hang out with the necrotic pals, maybe enjoy some kelp and stories of your exploits

In exchange, information. rumours, history, star maps etc.
Rare Jewels/money/credits [we dont need them, but other races probably do so we have something to barter with.]
General luxury items. As comfy as they may be, being fully aware that your chair is made from human sinew and nipples can be a little... off putting to new arrivals.

Now heres the tricky part. If anyone wants to stay permanently do we shard them?

Second question, I know Deep Rot is awesome... but, how do we only have 200 Think tanks? we have more battle cruisers, then Brains for our armies? I suggest we boost this number to... maybe 1000 and build a second Deep Rot in another system. Two rots are better then one? I would suggest we build it under the new city we are creating on the Ructu planet.
>>
>>1057117
>how do we only have 200 Think tanks
Yeah by now you'd have closer to about 1500

One thing I've been meaning to do was adjust the troop numbers since with the numbers we have listed now we wouldn't have enough to launch this invasion.

Oh yeah, yet ANOTHER thing I've forgotten. From the Voidknight Disciple there is a new construction option

>Deep Rot Relay: A large construction of glass and metal containing a organic crystalline growths submerged in necrotic fluid allows long range communication with the Deep Rot in the Horizon's Drop system. This allows Necrotic Armada forces to remain in contact across vast interstellar distances. Can be either built on a planetoid, typically hidden underground, or on a Battleship or larger vessel.
>>
>>1057146
What would happen if we build another deep rot on a farther planet?
Could they working together scan the whispers of the worm star to find fragments?
If they work similar to radio waves then building 2 far apart can be made to be as effective as one big one the size of the space between the two

You know what'll be real badass? If when Jadyk fights he channels his three elemental power into 3 orbs that floats behind his back. And he uses these orbs as a way to use his power while keeping both his hands free for weapon. Similar to pic related
>>
>>1057275
Perhaps when he becomes more versed in all the available powers and how to balance him, but that seems more... flash then practical. Mind you if he's trying to intimidate others this would be an effective move especially if they themselves are attuned to a single element. I Mean look at how much it freaked the Sunscale commander out when Jaydk did it.

>>1057146
That's fair enough, perhaps with troops we should group them up into set army patterns that we can mix and match.

Like, a base battalion is, something like,
800 Talons
400 trolls
400 Cyclops
40 Dirges
20 Requiems
40 Brutes
20 Crawlers

So you can say the invasion has, 6 battalions, and then a division is the same lay out but half what a battalion has... i am terrible at names for military groupings so, just... i'm using those words as an example.

Then mixed up divisions like, Subterranean surprise

100 Devastators
800 Trolls [various]
400 Flat bodied gargoyles
50 Brutes

floor explodes, gargoyles go ever where to cause havoc and while enemy is distracted Trolls deploy followed by the brutes to crush what ever resistance is proving too much for the trolls.

And now we get to start hiding this things all over the galaxy.

Actually quick question, with the necrokelp it makes people more, receptive to the necrotic, does this make them say, more open to suggestion from Jaydk or deep rot, or does it just mean they are able receptive to necrotic influence like visions that can be shaped by necromancers/generals/deep rot/ Jaydke

guys I have a question. Why are we at all loyal to the wormstar?
It's dead, or as dead as something like it can be
It commanded us to destroy life back in the old armada
Almost every thing we do is different and often actively against the commands of the wormstar
So why do we praise it? It is our own power that drives us. Our own philosophy that guides us.
And praising that monster of old probably sends the wrong message to the galaxy and potential allies
The shards of it should be found and used to our will, but treated as powerful items with little religious respect
>>
>>1064443
When we were just a parasitic worm,it gave us a purpose. It helped craft us into who we are>even though a few thousand years in a spacious tomb altered our objective,The Wormstar is still vital to us.Yes I do believe that if the shards have some sentiance left,we wil(with great reluctance)NOT rev up the genocide train on its command.Think of it like a parent:we may have grown into our own,but we still respect it for all it has done for us.In regards to how the galaxy sees our praise, we can still venerate it and its greatness, just not the genocide part.Think Old Testament,New Testament. All of this will only really matter when then damn council gets a boot full of void up the ass and we can get our hands on that shard.
>>
>>1064443
Wheb the old testament went obsoelet did everyone denounce chritianity and have a giant orgy while killing there neighboors?

No they didn't

We may be doing somethibg different from what the wormstar ordered us but that doesn't mean we shoot "FUCK THE WORMSTAR" every chance we get

Coffins quickly modified for aquatic travel and staffed by amphibious Reconstructed depart from Iti'a'Ropku's shipyards and make their way to the coasts. They pass over several herds of Osogo making their way toward the city or attending to their own business, either not hearing the call yet or choosing to ignore it.

Diving into the cold brine oceans the Coffins begin their long delayed project of investigating the oceans of the Armada's new homeworld

>>1064182
Once the invasion is finished Eiton has the idea of a nail-gun type weapon where you can inject a domination spike into a target by striking them with it that he's going to make.

I'm gonna say that yes, domination spikes can be used to raise zombies once the host dies.

Now, you'll have to worry about the opinion of Necrolytes and everyone else in the Armada that has one if knowledge of this ever gets spread around
>>
>>1064602
In that case, any civy dies,we make damn sure not to rez them without permission from them before hand or permission of their family. Enemys do not get that privilege.
>>
>>1064602
We only need to fear the result of the information if they find out themselves.
If we just tell them and ask if there are ok with that then things will go over smoother
>>
>>1064602
Have it explained to the necrolytes that when they die the dominion chip can turn them into a zombie so they can fight once more in the hopes of sparing their companions the same fate, but if the idea is too repugnant they can opt out privately

Actually that raises the question, do they now reanimate them upon death or does it require a think tank/general/ necromancer to be nearby and activate it remotely or is it zombie rules the moment they die the spike kicks in they reanimate?
>>
>>1064809
Pretty sure they need something to infuse them with necrotic energy. Also zombies dont really make good soldiers. They lack the originality of living soldiers, they lose a lot of experience that they would have when alive and would make better soldiers as reconstructed.Same with the clones. Some clones would be useful for specific purposes, but not as a mass produced army unless we can program them.Even then it devalues the normal living legionaries.

Once combat is over they report to he nearest cauldron to be remade as a reconstructed but until then they can continue I fight until disabled

I agree.I just was arguing against mass usage of zombies and clones. In the midst of battle is good, though in the case of a siege, its a good idea to bring a cauldron or two.

Although it was defeated by beings who make necrotic beings their bitch. It could be dead,it could just be comatose.Either way it doesn't matter until we get our hands on that shard.Once we do,we either get a huge boost in power,a new adviser,a new person trying to boss us around or we get FUN.

Dwarf fortress levels of fun

Hell the shard could be various aspects of the whole entity but if push comes to shove we just need to make sure it lands in the cauldron

It was the closest equivalent Jadyk has to a father, and mentor. Also it was a being Jadyk served for centuries if not a millennium.

Actually... I can think of a few ways we can weaponize rapidly cooling corpses
>>
>>1066500
True but requires reaching them and the. Loading/prepping them... Wait just had an idea, what about a rapidly reproducing ravener swarm te ammunition is a seed pouch enters the victim beings mass producing until the body pops sending devoures in a radius that are very short lived and die shortly after exiting the host if unable to burrow into a new host ruins the corpse and loses is it's biomass but could be all kinds of fun in confined locations with a high amount of living thing in a small radius

Or perhaps an explosive round that scatters blue algae everywhere to eat all the organics

Good idea, but only if we dont wan survivors and in every engagement we want at least a fraction of survivors. It could be useful in another siege operation but too costly elsewhere.
