You are an emissary with one sole task: to awaken the gods of above and below who fled to the dream of the great one.

After struggling with a Yuothl, the chained. You have finally ended it thanks to the collaborative efforts of Neathe, Folt's close friend Elmad and Histianne who have changed entirely after your last encounter with her. Your time of respite with her still lingers in both your memories.

Donathan has been avenged. The church is yours to plunder.

Bring your friends in and close the doors.

Then, plunder the church

The weeps of tormented children were no more; their collective thoughts lied dead before you.

Elmad has found some strength to stand up, you admired his endurance in this conflict, Neathe was still recuperating, Histianne was looking after her.

"And so the tales of the blood of the emissary proved to be true, I thought it was another hoax made up by the scholars...a bunch of madmen they are."

His grim face relaxed a bit "Let us explore the belly of this church, I reckon these townsfolk hid an unique firearm or two...."

A door was indeed found at the very end of church. It led you and Elmad to a spacious room, it was lit by dozens of dim lit candles.

At the very center she lied, a corpse of a woman with a peaceful smile radiating her lifeless figure. Toys made out from hay and wood surrounded her. Perhaps a gift from the children you slaughtered.

"Away from here, my finger. we shouldn't tamper with this corpse. I sense something wrong about her..." you pistol warned you, its tongue was dry.

There was a container behind the corpse of the peaceful woman. it grabbed Elmad's attention.

Nothing.

Alright, i think we will end it here. I do have a couple of things to say.

-With Mend in your inventory it filled our Arcane Slots. so if we got a fourth arcane art in the future we will have to include which arcane arts to use in the load out.

- Just like in soulborne, upgrading your arcane/intelligence/faith/attunement should increase both the rune (ring) and the arcane slots.

25= 4 Arcane/Rune Slots

50= 5 Arcane/Rune Slots

75= 6 Arcane/Rune Slots

100= 7 Arcane/Rune Slots

-Another thing that we spoke about previously is milestones but i want a confirmation since we are approaching 25 in Bloodtinge, Skill and arcane. Would you like a small bonus like -5 roll upon reaching said milestone? this can be game breaking so the bonuses with be relatively small but they will help just like Donathan's outfit up to -25 at 100 of a certain attribute.

i would love to hear your opinion.

and thank you for your participation.
>>
>>930799
yes, having good stats should mean having bonuses related to it
>>
>>930823
alright. so does

25=-5 rolls

50=-10 rolls

75= -15 rolls

100= -20 rolls

sounds good?

not overpowered and can be an incentive to invest in a certain direction
>>
>>930839
sounds good to me, small enough not to be op, but big enough to make the difference
>>
>>930839
looks good. its good to have an incentive to raise stats other than stat requirements for different items.
>>
>>930839
Yup, alright then
>>
>>930845
>>930849
i am glad that this is agreeable.

obviously arcane takes the cake with it comes to bonuses with the increase in slots.

The question is: would you like some sort of another non-roll related bonus to non arcane Attribute. I dont have anything in mind but it seems unfair for Arcane to save a second advantage.

If you have something in mind, please share it with us.
>>
>>930867
If you feel it HAS to have something extra, why not make it have some sort of defence effect against enemy spellcasters?
>>
>>930878
let me rephrase my question:

A 25 bloodtinge, what non-roll bonus should i apply?

what happens if i hit 50? does this non roll bonus will increase? or will it be something else?
>>
>>930888
increase the amount of quicksilver we can hold at once
>>
>>930867
>>930888
maybe have us get new tricks, a bit like Grit in pathfind-

this:>>930900
>>
>>930888
Oh and increase the damage of each shot with increased bloodtinge
Give us more acrobatic or dexterous options in combat with increased skill
stuff like that
>>
>>930900
>>930907
sounds reasonable. is 9,11,13,15,17 okay?

Only skill and Strength remain
>>
>>930915
This anon speaks with truth
>>
>>930888
Bloodtinge: Firearms consume 1 less Quicksilver per milestone, to a minimum of 0. Firearms already at 0 consumption deal more damage.

Strength: Carry an additional weapon per milestone. Bonus resist to Poison, Frenzy(?) and other physical ailments.

Skill: ...I'll have to get back to you on that.

>>930900
While that would be nice, Quicksilver is also consumed for spells, so it doesn't really make sense.
>>
>>930918
Strength for those "You are pinned down and are going to die if you can't get free"
Skill as this one>>930915 said
>>
>>930918
Maybe a dodge bonus with higher skill?
>>
>>930915
>Give us more acrobatic or dexterous options in combat with increased skill
We get those simply by writing in. There should be some tangible mechanical bonus apart from a simple bonus to rolls.
>>
>>930925
but zero consumption will be OP

i am okay with your strength idea

skill remains
>>
>>930934
that is what i mean bonus wise
>>
>>930939
What about minimum of 1, with the exception of Midden's Pistol, which is special and can go to 0?

As far as we've seen, it's not exactly more effective than a standard weapon anyway.

>>930943
Actually, should the bonuses be something specific to the application of that specific stat, like Bloodtinge giving an additional bonus Fireams; or something general that helps any character build in general but is somewhat related to the stat being raised, like Bloodtinge giving additional Blood Echoes?
>>
Strenght: Aditional weapon slot and resist
Bloodtinge: Chance for the weapon to not consume a (milestone) quicksilver on shot
Skill: Allow you to change your loadout by (milestone) piece(s) per turn
>>
>>930958
Skill: *In the middle of battle
>>
>>930958
>Skill: Allow you to change your loadout by (milestone) piece(s) per turn
Wouldn't this basically make Strength's bonus slots useless, since we can now swap freely anyway?
>>
>>930977
(Milestone) per combat encounter swaps, maybe?
Maybe if heavier weapons took more than one slot
>>
So Far

Non Roll bonuses:

Arcane: Increase in Rune/Arcane Slots
Bloodtinge: Increase in max number of bullets/Decrease consumption by 1 with one being the least number of bullets consumed/ additional firearm [Choose one]
Strength: Addition weapon to carry
Skill:????
>>930954
again, despite our midden pistol's status, it will not be balanced.
>>
>>930990
Maybe Skill can lower the stat requirements of other equipment? (Except Arcane, that one doesn't need anything more)
>>
>>930990
Fair. Reiterating my question about whether bonuses are supposed to be general or build-specific.

Boosting Rune slots and weapon slots are general benefits which would help most characters, which isn't quite in line with Bloodtinge's only benefiting Firearms builds.

If a general bonus is all that's needed, I might suggest for Skill a lamp-refreshed reroll on any failed roll equal to the number of milestones.
>>
>>931009
Maybe the consumption reduction of Bloodtinge can also work for the Quicksilver cost of Arcane arts?
>>
Arcane: Increase in Rune/Arcane Slots
Bloodtinge: Increase in max number of bullets/Decrease consumption by 1 with one being the least number of bullets consumed/ additional firearm [Choose one]
Strength: Addition weapon to carry
Skill: Increase in 'refresh rerolls'

>>931009
actually yeah this is a good idea.

like today's failed roll.

I would allow one refresh roll in our skill in 25

the last this we need to do is to determine the bloodtinge bonus, each three bonuses are good, it is up to you to choose
>>
>>931049
If you're worried about reducing consumption to 0 being overpowered, a similar but more balanced(?) effect can be achieved by adding 100% to our base Quicksilver amount per milestone.
>>
>>931049
if our skill
>>
>>931049
sounds good, i'd say keep the bonus QS
i feel like the reroll will be useful, hah

>>931009
quicksilver can also be used to purify corpses (and maybe more?)
>>
>>931049
Consumption reduction is best
If you want to make it benefit us in general, you cn also make it reduce the amount of Quicksilver consumed by arcane arts
>>
Then it is settled

Arcane: Increase in Rune/Arcane Slots
Bloodtinge: Decrease consumption by 1 with one being the least number of bullets consumed
Strength: Addition weapon to carry
Skill: Increase in 'refresh rerolls'

Yes the reduction WILL be applied to arcane arts as well since they rely on the same source.

Thank you for putting this up anons, have a good night.
>>
>>931088
Thanks for running.

So, looking at those bonuses, my new order of priority for leveling (at least as far as the bonuses themselves are concerned) will be:
>Skill
>
>>
>>931099

You couldn't outran whatever that it was chasing you. It splatted you mere moments later....

YOU DIED

.

You were reborn near the lamp, you felt something...odd like the world closing on your chest. You panted heavily, another death to endure...another death to forget.

you touched the lamp to return to the lamp. So far, the Pillar was one the few good individuals to talk to in this plane. You wanted to free her of her grim fate; to be part of Bildren...
.
.
.
You found yourself in a domain of rippling flesh. Again, the head of Bildren has brought you to her prison, she seemed agitated "Do not ignore my heeds, child of man, i consume a great deal of my power so my body remains...ignorant of our agreements."

For a mere second, her voice was softer "It...pains me to witness your fate and my body's innocent pawn. This lady of stone....She holds a great power. A power that my filthy body desires, She is slowly become a part of my body. Soon naught will be left from her but you are not alone; i will not discard you...i have plans for you and your desires...."

The head of Bildren gave you:

Swaere

An outfit of flesh and teeth fashioned from false Bloated Clot. Appears as a normal garment to those with low insight. Obscures one' vision but highly increases one's hearing and smelling senses. it provides an excellent protection against grabbing and grappling attacks.

Artieu

An outfit from flesh and metal fashioned from False chained clot. Appears as a normal garment to those with low insight. It is very heavy slowing down movement drastically but it provides excellent resistance against frenzy and can deflect some attacks.

Another lick was its reply. Clearly it was waiting for you to use it.... you havent done so in a while. So far, your midden's pistol didn't express any sort of 'jealousy' from other firearms.

The pillar appeared to be a bit sickly, she did her best to arch a smile to welcome you. There was nothing you could do to her...Not Alone at least...The head of Bildren is your sole mean of freeing the Pillar.

You touched the blackwood quarter lamp, moments later, you found yourself in the sickened field under the cover of darkness.

You reached Milkwood forest via a small path at the edge of Blackwood quarters. You were somewhat glad to revisit this peaceful forest.

That was until half a dozen of those faceless spiders blocked your path. In a blink of an eye, you found Anye materializing behind the row of spiders "Kind traveler, i wished you would have heeded my warning. Please forgive me...."

Also a little reminder; we have 5400 blood echoes at the moment.

Rolled 39, 26, 13 = 78 (3d100)

>>949768
that's 4 levels worth, right? yeah, we should spend them (on skill, to get closer of the reroll) before fighting a boss tier, yeah
>>
>>949807
five actually

>>949833
oh right, we killed the crows
yeah, let's go back to the pillar once we're tired of failing to commune with the Cage

you chose not to attack this abomination for now.it turned its back on you mediating once more, the turnkey slowly shifted anticlockwise.

You headed back to the lamp; with so many blood echoes in your possession, you had to return back to the dream.
.
.
.
As you returned to the room of lamps, something felt.... wrong

tiny pustules sprouted on the walls as well pulsating veins. while they were few and far between , they did unsettle you.

Quickly, you rushed to the room of statues only to see the pillar crying, the base of the pillar had bubbling flesh spurting blood and pus.

On of Livendagen's pristine statues started to cry pus before its stone arm would fall off only to be replaced by one of Bildren's legs.

"You have been awfully silent, child of man...neglecting my aid....neglecting my power to transform the clots into powerful weapons; pray tell....where are said clots?"

" For your own sake, I hope you speak of truth. This ....poor girl can't save you a second time....This is but a little reminder. The next time i show in this fashion. i will not be so .... peaceful."

just like that, the leg retracted leaving the statute in ruins. After Bildren was gone, the Pillar continued to cry, shying her face away from you.....

"I-it is ...nothing...warm one...nothing..no-"

The Pillar churned in pain as the bubbling mass below started to spurt more blood and pus forcing her to cry more out of sadness and pain.
