Well, seems you're unlucky enough or lucky enough to be going through a trigger event.

What's a trigger event? Well let me enlighten you: a trigger event is that traumatizing, shitty experience you eventually look back on with dread.

It's also an event where your powers awaken, as in SUPERpowers. But before we get along, time to find out who you are

>Are you a guy?

>Or a gal?
>>
>>901272
>>Or a gal?
>>
>>901272
We are both
>>
>>901272
>Are you a guy?
>>
>>901272
We a guy.
>>
Waiting 5 more minutes before we move on
>>
>>901286
>>901284

Well, you have one thing going for you already. You have balls and a dick, you are a guy.

But there is some other things that you may need. Such as a name, what you look like, and what your background is like. (May or may not influence trigger event)
>>
>>901281
This. Why not?

James Puller, 17 years old, short about 5'7 or 5'8. white, buzz cut brown hair, brown eyes. in pretty good shape. living with his dad after parents divorced when money got tight. Dad was a former Marine turned dock worker, who started driving a cab after the divorce and the dock work never picked up. Mom lives in New York working at some accounting firm as secretary. Has a hard time in school due to his name, so he never put much effort in despite being intelligent. Dads not home much at night because of the cab so he has taken to late night running when he cant sleep.

I'll use these for other characters you'll meet. But

>>902549

Ahhh, James. Jamey. Dad is Micheal Puller, while dear 'ol mom is Amanda Richardson. You have enough bad shit happened to you, not to the same level as some...but a healthy amount.

So one important question here is this: what's causing your trigger event?

1/2
>>
>>902658

>You're running for your life, what you're running from is something suitably dangerous. (Character will have a Mover power.)

>You're emotion's have been going through a spiral downwards into hell. (Character will have a Thinker power.)

>Gym coach has been pushing more and more pressure on you to get more muscular, "for your own good." He says (Character will have a Changer power.)

>Peer pressure is a great motivator! Sarcastically speaking of course, it's pretty shit. (Character will have a Stranger power)

>No subtlety, you're facing immediate danger. Adapt or die (Character will have a Striker power)

>You're one unlucky guy you know, you just got caught inbetween a fight between a number of parahumies. (Character will have a Trump power)

>You're getting shot, stabbed, beaten, whatever the case...it's happening. (Character will have a Brute power.)

>You are all alone with no where to go, sucks doesn't it? (Character will have a Master power)

>You want to solve a problem, a long one but you want to solve it. Easier in theory of course since it's now reached it's climax. (Character will have a Tinker power)
>>
>>902740
>>You are all alone with no where to go, sucks doesn't it? (Character will have a Master power)
>>
>>902740

>No person or thing is causing danger, hell it's the whole place itself that's the problem. (Character will have a Shaker power)

>From a distance, you'll probably get killed by something. Be it a guy with a gun or some rampage sniper (Character will have a Blaster power)

>It's....complicated. To say the least this trigger is a mix of mental and physical problems. (Character will have a Breaker power)
>>

Out on a late night run you zone out and end up in ABB territory with your buzz cut they take you to be an Empire goon or sympathizer, they make an example and the fight quickly turns bad after a knife finds its way into your stomach and they just keep stomping on your form after you hit the ground

if you wanted specifics
>>
>>902767
>>It's....complicated. To say the least this trigger is a mix of mental and physical problems. (Character will have a Breaker power)

Breaker power would mesh with Brute pretty easily.

Especially if we get a cut-rate version of the Siberian projection's power as a Scion shard.

You figured a little night run would do good to keep you in shape, unfortunately you've found yourself getting zoned out.

By the time you're somewhere you don't recognize.

'Fuck.' You think to yourself, 'What happened? Oh well, guess I can call dad.'

You check your phone and find that the battery is dead. You sigh and look around and notice one sign graffitied on the wall

ABB

Azn Bad Boys. Well fuck

"Lookey what we got here boys!" A voice mockingly calls out, looking around you see a group of three.

One is a guy around your age of asian decent dressed in a no sleeve shirt and jeans. A leer on his face

Another is in a hoodie, one is wearing a mask that's blank aside from two eyeholes

Mr. Smug approaches you with his hands in his pockets. "You lost stranger?"

"Yeah man, I couldn't ask your mom for directions home with my dick in her mouth."

You look him straight in the eye and nod.

"Yeah man, I couldn't ask your mom for directions with my dick in her mouth." You tell him as dull a tone you can muster.

His expression twists into a scowl

"Ohhh you're funny ain't cha?" He asks hissing like a snake pushing you up against a wall, leaning in closely before whispering.

"Here I was going to be nice and help ya out." He grins, "Now I'm just gonna have to hurt you. NOBODY, fucks with ABB."

He grabs you by the collar of your shirt and throws you to the ground. However you sweep the guy's leg and knock him to the ground.

Scrambling ontop of him you start to pound his face in, punching away until you start seeing red marks of your knuckles forming up into bruises on his face.

It get's cut short by a sharp pain in your back, you cry out and pain before getting knocked to the ground again.

You see one is holding a knife dripping with blood. Mr. Smug lets out a growl, and you take a kick to the stomach.

Not a moment later you're getting the shit beaten out of you.

Pain. This is overloading your senses right now, you're going to die right here and now.

As you're getting the absolute hell beaten out of you. You feel something:

That you've been...changed some how in someway. You hear the three ABB goons laugh

"Alrighty then!" Smug says in between laughs before sighing, "Time for just one more hit."

He turns you over. Your face has blood all over it, cuts, bruises and the like you let out shaky breaths.

You see Smug wide up for a punch, 'no more.' You think. Once he does there's a sickening crack and he screams out in agony.

"Shit! Yao what's wrong?!" The one in the hoodie asks as Smug, now you know as Yao comes off of your body. His hand is limp

"MY FUCKING HAND'S BROKEN!" He screams out

'What?'

You slowly stand up and clutch your throbbing head.

The three look pretty terrified right now. Yao quietly chanting "Oh fuck." In a desperate mantra

You pop the bones in your back and slowly walk over to the three of them. The one in the hoodie rushes you with a knife

However you grab his wrist and he screams as you accidentally crush it hard enough to cause it to explode in a shower of blood.

He falls to the ground, howling in pain and covering the stump where his hand used to be that is now sputtering blood.

You look to the other two. The one in the mask runs away

"YOU SON OF A BITCH!" Yao howls out, shaking like a leaf in the wind. As you approach he looks utterly terrified.

He closes his eyes...prepared for the worst

"Sorry there buddy." You say grabbing either side of his head. "But knowing a bit ABB..." you pause and smile at him.

"Can't afford to have you running around."

You jam your thumbs into his eyes and he start's screaming, blood coming from the sockets in a slow flow of crimson. You slowly add more and more pressure, and then his head caves in from the force.

"Pop goes the weasel." You mutter, and there's still the problem of the runner. But you have an idea.

You pull your thumbs out of the guy's now collapsed skull and grab the legs. You drag it around in a circle making a trail of blood, going faster and faster all the while.

Until you throw the corpse like a shotput. From here you can see the masked guy tumble and collapse to the ground.

"C-Come on man." The hoodie wearing guy stutters as you walk over to him. "Don't do it."

"Sorry, but you know the old saying." You say to him as you wrap your hands around his throat. "Reap what you sow."

You the proceed to choke the life out of him, his face turning red. He tries stabbing you but to no effect as it chips away from stabbing your skin.

As you keep choking his face turns blue, at this point you set him free. He gasps for breath

"Thank you! I-I'm sorry for all that! I-" you cut him off by snapping his neck like a dry twig.

"Apology accepted."

You then sigh and rub some of your own and the ABB goons' blood off of your face with the heel of your palm.

"Well, that suitably scared the shit out of me." A new voice says.

>>904370

You look around and see someone.

The someone is a lean guy, same age as you from the looks of things. Scruffy black hair makes him look like he just got out of bed, he's also pretty pale. Either from watching you brutally kill three gang members or it's just natural

The guy has baby blue eyes.

He's dressed in a white windbreaker jacket and a pair of grey sweatpants.

You frown at him, "Should you really care if I got rid of these guys?"

He smirks and shakes his head. "Not at all, make's my job a hell of a lot easier." He says walking over to the hoodie you just recently killed.

He pulls out a small wad of twenties from the hoodie's pocket.

"Trust me. They aren't my friends for the life of me." He says putting one half of the twenties in his pocket, handing the other half to you.

"Take it. Got rid of some scum and saved me the work of taking it off their hands, you earned it buddy." He says smiling

You stare at him for a moment before taking the money. You count that there's ten twenties, two hundred bucks.

"Thanks." You say, he nods

"I won't give my name for conventional reasons because, you know. Secret identity bullshit, guys'll come after my family, the drill." He says shrugging before offering a hand.

"Call me Stalker."

You think for a moment about a name to give Stalker, not your own name of course. One sticks out in your mind

You take his hand and shake it, not crushing it or causing harm.

"Colossus." You tell him, Stalker gives a cheeky grin and nods. "I see, so I bet you know that you're more than a little fucked up right now."

You nod, not wrong there

"Not to worry! I know a guy who can help you out if you want."

>What do you say?

How are we fucked? I mean apart from being in Aleph, did one of the gang bangers get away?

>>906601
Sure, why not
>>
>>906671

Nope, you killed two with your bare hands. When one tried running you threw one's corpse into him.

And I'd say...slightly fucked if possible.

"Wait. Help me out how?" You ask him

"By taking you to some guys I know to help stitch you up a bit: clean up the blood you got on you, bandaging, all the dear 'ol first aid." He explains

"Oh? Who're they?"

Stalker shrugs, "I'll tell you this. They're not with ABB or Empire...and they're pretty good. So what do you say?"

>Go with him?

"I still haven't decided if ai'm going to move to Alaska." You dully finish your sentence, Stalker snorts.

"Not sure if you're joking or not. So c'mon."

And so the two of you start walking, you following your friend's lead.

Meanwhile, discuss what kind of powers would be good suggestions
>>
>>907039
a y y
>>
>>907014
Alright, my suggestion is this:

>Perpetual Breaker state that allows for redirection and amplification of most energy.

Now, hear me out before you call it OP. Our strength comes from the amplification of the base kinetic energy of our movements. This is a double-edged sword because we now suffer from Superman's "World of Cardboard" problem where we have to control our movements all the time because we can destroy a lot of stuff by accident. This constant amplification does make it possible for us to move very fast at times, but makes it hard to slow down. Redirection means that we don't move unless we want to or Because of Gravity or something.

We can shrug off getting hit by lightning and fire, but our clothes will not. We can't nosell Scion's Fuck You Beams like Gavel and Sting will obviously still affect us, but Capes like Shadow Stalker can also hurt us. We still need to breathe and eat, so we're obviously vulnerable to drowning (Leviathan), or Suffocation(Fog) or Poison. Acid, from the likes of Crawler or Acidbath will also hurt us. Radiation can also kill us and most Masters can affect us.

Thoughts?
>>
>Bakuda

>>907057

>>907058

>>
>>907064
All capes ignore the Laws of Reality but Breakers a bit more so. Breakers are very ill defined, so you really have to give examples of powers that would be considered "Breakers." Rule of Thumb is that Breakers affect themselves rather than their surroundings.

Martian Manhunter or Kitty Pryde phasing through stuff would be considered a Breaker power.
>>
>>907058
Don't stick it in Crazy, Anon.
>>
>>907039
>Well look on the bright side! You won't get roasted by Lung, just possibly blown to pieces by Bakuda.

Ironically, with the power set I proposed, Lung would have been the better matchup. Punt him into the Bay then run away.
>>
>>907079
So why not have Martian Manhunters near unlimited shapeshing, coupled with our super strength? That sounds scary. Unless we wanna go crazy, how crazy can we go?

As you and Stalker keep walking down the city blocks, you can'r help but feel something is off.

"Hey, think we're being followed?" You ask a bit cautious

"More than likely. But hey, nothing you can't really handle there. Right?"

"I guess."

The two of you continue to walk until you find yourselves face to face with numerous ABB. Stalker chuckles

"If only they knew, eh?" He whispers nudging your arm

A few of them move out of the way as one more unique among them steps forward:

She's dressed in what would count for two things. A red coat and metal combat armor underneath, her face is covered by a metal gas-mask with opaque red goggles over her eyes with straight black hair passes a bit past her shoulders.

You see Stalker is now more nervous.

"Ohhhh...fuck."

>What do you do?
>>
>>907127
Awesome.

We've got a pretty strong power set then.

Just as a heads up, this means if someone like Alexandria punched us, we wouldn't even move. Even Endbringers wouldn't be able to move us. They'd still be able to kill us in other ways, but we're pretty okay in the physical area.

Legend could probably kill us with some of his more Exotic beams, Siberian is still able to kill us easily, Bonesaw's plagues would likely affect us, Imp can hide from us, Regent might be able to Master us, Skitter can kill us Alexandria style, Leviathan can Drown us, Behemoth can irradiate us, Simurgh can master us, Jack can manipulate us via the Communication Shard, and Zion can wipe us from existence with his Fuck You Beams.
>>
>>907141

"I think we took a very wrong turn."
>>
>>907141
Alright Stalker, you hold them off while I run away. I mean get help. I'll do that.

>>907147
Doesn't the PRT use dragon's quick hardening foam, that would be effective on us if we weren't already moving.
>>
>>907147
>>907127

Oh, there's really no redirection after all, just immunity to most outside forces and an amplification of our own kinetic energy.
>>
>>907188
Indeed it would. However, if we can wriggle even a little bit and keep wriggling, we might be able to build up enough force to pull the foam off. I forget if Alexandria can tear off containment foam but our strength, given enough build up time, can equal and surpass hers.

Our real issue is going to be control.

>>907141
By the way, gravity still affects us, so her Black Hole bombs have a good chance if fucking us up. I really doubt she's going to open with them though.
>>
>>907153

"I think we took a VERY wrong turn." You mutter to yourself

One thought comes into mind as you take a look at him.

"Should we run?"

Stalker nods his head furiously, "Yes. Yes we should. Right now in fact!"

The two of you start running in the opposite direction of the ABB and Gassy. As you run you hear a dull THUMP

"FUCK! GET DOWN!" Stalker yells out knocking the two of you to the ground, there's then the sound of a large explosion right next to you.

Your ears are ringing as there's debris and smoke around you. You cough before checking on Stalker.

He's fine, looking a bit surprised.

"Two things: One, holy shit. We live. And two, you're missing one half of your clothes.

You look and see that, yep. The right side of your body is missing clothes.

"Huh, look at that." Gassy's voice says mildly intrigued

"EXPLOSIONS ARE OVERCOMPENSATION!"

That aught to get something out of her.

(New person met: Bakuda
Relationship: She doesn't like you or anything. I-Idiot.)

"TAKE IT YOU FUCKING DYKE!" Stalker happily yells out with a laugh

As you run you start hearing loud crunching, looking back you see that you're making deep footprint-sized craters

Looking ahead you're about to run into a building.

>>
>>907351
Can we not kill the first friendly person we meet?
>>
>>907351

Good success!

You have one idea to prevent yourself and Stalker from getting killed.

You jump over the building and land on the other side, causing you to land into a parking lot. You plant your feet into the ground causing asphalt to get thrown through the air as though being ripped and thrown out.

After a minute you come to a stop. Looking back you've made a three foot deep and twenty foot long trench.

"Am I dead? Is this Heavan?" Stalker mutters a bit delusional

Looks like your friend is still alive.

>What now?
>>
>>907369
Keep running, see if Stalker has any ideas on where to go.
>>
>>907369
See if Stalker can lead us to those friends he told us about.
>>
>>907369
Ask stalker if he knows any good bars to wind down in.
But seriously, just carry on with what we were doing.
>>
>>907394

You set Stalker on his feet, he's a bit wobbly but keeps from falling down.

"So." You say as though nothing happened, "Mind taking me to those friends you mentioned."

He shakes his head, "Yeah....follow me."

The two of you climb out of the trench you consequently made, then the two of you go back to walking.

You make your way through the Docks more than a few people whisper looking at you.

"Just ignore 'em, they knew what I knew about you they'd probably shit a few bricks." Stalker jokes

You two soon end up at a red brick building with a large metal door, you look at Stalker curiously

"Who'd you say they are again?"

He just grins

"You'll see in a moment."

1/2
>>
>>907449

Stalker knocks on the metal door three times causing loud metal bangs. A few moments pass and you hear someone

"Nobody's home." A bored sounding voice says on the other side

"Awww, come on Al! I got someone here who's a real interesting guy!" Stalker replies happily, "Needs help fixing up his face. Ran into some unsavory people."

There's silence again, you then hear a door creek open. Looking around you see a guy's head poking out of the doorway. He has curly black hair and an utterly bored expression on his face.

"Alright. Ready to head on in?" Stalker asks

>What do you say?
>>
>>907477
Sure
Go in
>>
>>907477

Yea, lets go
>>
>>907477
After you.
>>
>>907499
>>907498

"Alright." You say, "After you."

The two of you walk inside through the smaller door of the building. Stalker heads in first with you behind him.

The place is like you expect it to be from an old building: it's dark, with dusty windows and the place is littered with machinery that's been stripped to husks and cobwebs.

Stalker walks to the corner then up a spiraling stair case, following him you come up to a more...homey second floor.

With two couches set at an angle from one another, a coffee table in front of them, a large TV with a number of things with it including gaming consoles and a DVD player are among those you can count.

Another part of the room consists of cubicles lined up three on either side for a total of six.

"Sweet set up. Right?" Stalker asks nudging you

"Quick question." You hear the guy from before say, "The hell happened to you?"

>What do you do?
>>
>>907538
Might as well fill him in. Not like we have much to hide. Since Stalker probably saw it all anyway.
>>
>>907558

>>
>>907558
>>907562

Might as well spill the beans.

"Went out for a night run, figured that it would be a bit of good exercise. I ended up zoning out and got into ABB territory."

The guy perks an eyebrow.

"They ended up beating the hell outta me, I ended up killing the three of them. Met Stalker here and he said he'd take me to see some friends of his to help me not look like I got the shit beaten out of me. Two of us ended up finding some crazy bitch with a gas-mask and a grenade launcher. Ended up running and leaping over a building...now I'm here." You tell him

"She fucked up my clothes though, did nothing to me however." You say gesturing to where you got hit

"Well, you went through your trigger event." He says plainly

Wait, what?

"You mean...that shit some people go through that causes them to get powers?"

"Yup." Stalker adds in, "In exchange for getting fucked up you now get superpowers."

"Pretty much the gist of it." 'Al' says casually

"Groovy, super." You say shrugging, "So who're you guys?" You ask

Stalker sighs. "Guess with you helping me get away from Bakuda I could give my name. Name's Aaron." He says with a grin

"I'm Alec." The curly haired guy states, "Though other people know me as Regent."

"I see. So what do you guys do? Besides helping out a random guy who just got superpowers."

"I steal from gangs." Aaron casually says, "ABB, Empire, you name it."

"While me and a few others do some fun villanous things like robery." Alec states still sounding bored as ever, "Aaron here shows up from time to time to hang out."

"Riiiiight. So how do I go about learning more about the new powers thing I got going on?" You ask

"Gotta find that out yourself." Aaron says, "Though I'd guess it's gotta deal with kinetics."

Well there's that.

(New person met: Alec, aka Regent
Relationship: No opinion)

We should also begin testing our powers soon to get a better understanding and more control over them.

"What others?" You ask Alec, "What powers do you guys have?"

"The others?" Alec asks, "Other guys I'm with, villains. Grue, Tattletale, and Bitch. Call ourselves the Undersiders."

"Speaking of." Aaron interrupts, "They around?"

"Nope. And as for powers, I can do this among other things." He says pointing to Aaron. He takes a step forward and ends up tripping up and falling flat on his face.

"Fucker." Aaron growls, once he gets up he sighs. "And I can do this." He gets behind Alec and gives a smack to the side of the head, Alec tries turning his head around but it's like his head is locked into place.

"Gotta love Stranger powers man."

"Master is better."

"I found out mine on accident, got behind someone one day and he couldn't turn around to look at me." Aaron says with a shrug

"My dad had me test mine on some people." Alec continues, "See what I ended up getting."

"Really?" You ask out loud, the two nod.

>"Waaah, I have superpowers and life is awfuls"
>"Aw shit yeah, I can bench press a skyscraper, this is incredible."

Admittedly I know little of the wormverse, apart from everything is awful forever and most trigger events cause people to like, hate their powers or something.

That, and fuck coil forever
>>
>>909554
>>909593

Figuring out your powers is something you should do. Find out what you can do besides jump over buildings, go faster the more you run and can toss a grown man's corpse like a shot-put

"You guys want to help me out with my powers? Help me get a grasp on it." You ask the two who are more experienced with powers.

Aaron nods while Alec shrugs

"Like I have anything better to do." He says dully

Turns out you're invulnerable to a LOT of things: getting burned does nothing but fucks up your clothes, getting hit with a car doesn't make you even move, getting stabbed or shot does nothing much either. And getting shocked is just a mild annoyance

The only unfortunate thing is that you're clothes are rather fucked: what with one half being burned away, having stab and bullet holes in them, you're dad is going to be pissed.

"I say that was pretty successful!" Aaron says with a deep breath

"It was."

Aaron pulls out a smart phone and clicks his tongue, "Sorry to cut this short. But gotta head back home to mom and little sis."

Since our costume is likely going to get fugged often, just order a dozen Adidas tracksuit knockoffs from china. Not sure what to do about mask.

I'll totally back just buying a shitload of adidas tracksuits in bulk and just wearing a new one each time we go out.

>>914605
But on the other hand, poncho's are terribly underused. Now I'm torn.

A lot. If we break the rules of the game people who dislike us will feel welcome to do likewise.

From what I see it's either:
A nazi uniform
A samurai or ninja outfit
A nazi samurai outfit
A poncho of masks
Or go the Russian route and show up in tracksuits

One costume coming up.

>writing

Meanwhile think about a mask
>>
>>915988

You have an equally awful but amazing idea for your costume.

You draw out a costume that is equal parts SS long-coat, track-suit, and poncho. With it coming in three parts:

A dark red tracksuit with white markings along the arms and legs like what a normal track-suit has, only in the style of the double stylized SS on the uniforms of SS officers.

Ontop of it is a black long coat with a poncho spread over it.

You add in that there should be boots and gloves for this costume

>Now for the mask
>>
>>916045
Blank with two eyeholes. We used up all our creativity on the costume, really.

>Kaiser's FW they see some poncho wearing nazi-looking guy taking down their dudes

Jaguar mask

>>916061

huh, never been done before, would be interesting.
>>
>>916061

I have a feeling this quest is either going to end up with either a paraharem or a waifu war.
>>
>>916097

You draw in a jaguar style mask, yellow with black dots. You also add in a few claw scars onto the design for extra details.

>What now?
>>
>>916377
Read the note dad left if it hasn't been read yet.
Otherwise go to bed, maybe watch some tv before turning in.
>>
>>916132
Paraharem, man. I mean, just say it. It rolls of the tongue so well.

>>916377
Look up how most capes get their costumes. I mean, not all of them make it themselves, do they?
Then the dadnote

Paraharem would be difficult with the shards pushing everyone toward conflict

You make a quick run down stairs and check your dad's note, it reads:

'Hey son. Sorry to tell you, but I gotta work late again. You weren't around so I left you this note, I'll be back tomorrow morning to make breakfast and send you off.

Love,
Dad'

You smile a bit and put the paper back down before heading back upstairs.

You take a quick moment to look up how capes get their costumes, turns out some people will willingly make a costume if paid enough. Best costumes are usually paid for by at the LEAST

$4K

At that moment your phone starts ringing, checking it you see who the caller is:

It's Alec:

>Answer

Conflict could be external as opposed to internal, imo. Like, it's worm. We're not really ever going to run out of opponents or enemies to fight.

If the ShardStrifeShit was that bad, E88, ABB, PRT, and literally everyone else wouldn't be able to function due to being totally awful all the time.

You pick up the phone an answer,

"Parahuman Pizzas: 30 minutes or your trigger's free." You say in the most shit-eating tone imaginable.

"Fuck you man." Alec says laughing

"What's up man?" You ask him

"Not much really, there a TV where you're at?"

"Yeah. Why?"

"Turn it on." He says a bit serious, "There's something you have to see."

>What now?

Turn on the T.V, obviously
>What?! The cubs won the superbowl?! How could they get more baskets and strike out the lakers?!

You shrug and turn on the TV, you're on the news right now. You see an anchor and a picture of a hockey mask wearing cape.

"Shadow Stalker is expected to make a recovery thanks to assistance from fellow hero Panacea."

"Alec, I know about this already."

"Just keeeep watching."

And so you do.

"Due to the event of the injury of one of the wards and the destruction that has been caused within the past hours. Local Protectorate leader Miss Militia will be personally investigating this, quoted saying: 'Should this parahuman be a villain, he or she needs to be captured before more destruction is caused.'"

Fuck.

"See what I mean?" Alec asks

>What now?
>>
>>917046
>"Can't I just register as a rogue or something? Or join the Wards? Pretty sure I could just say I tossed it at the gasmask bitch when I first triggered and it'd be cool. Plus, 'threw a car at shadow stalker's face' is probably great on a cap resume there."

"Can't I just register as a rogue or something? Or join the Wards?" You say slightly complaining

"Pretty sure I could just say I tossed it at the gasmask bitch when I first triggered and it'd be cool. Plus, 'threw a car at shadow stalker's face' is probably great on a cap resume there."

"No idea, but don't worry man. I'm pretty sure you'll be alright. Just relax, not the end of the world." Alec says, "Gotta go now man. Oh and, hey: wanna meet the rest of Us tomorrow?"

You can figure out he means the rest of the Undersiders.

Well seeing as there were only two witnesses there shouldn't be a problem, right?

But seriously, if they do identify us through tracking the car trajectory, random cameras and thinker bullshit. As long as we didn't fight back when they came for us we could explain what happened and it would just be public nuisance our some shit. Assault and others joined the prt after being actual malicious villains, they would just pressgang us into the wards.

"Yes, bitch sounds...fun?" What were you going to say?

"Meet us at the base, four pm." Alec replies hanging up. You turn off your phone and crash asleep.

1/2
>>
>>917137

You wake up the next morning to the sound of your alarm going off, and the smell of breakfast. You stand up and stretch before you head down stairs.

On the table are plates of toast, bacon, hash-browns, sausage and eggs.

In the kitchen is your dad:

He's a kind looking man who despite being forty looks twenty. A lean but muscular guy with a brown flat top on his head, he looks around and gives a smile.

"Morning Jamey." He says

>What now?

2/2
>>
>>917171
>'Morning.'
Then get ready for/go to school, and remember to meet the undersiders today
>>
>>917171
Hey old man, picked up any interesting passengers lately?
>>
>>917185
>>917218

You wave at your dad, "Morning."

You head down the stairs and take a seat at the table, the two of you eat and make some small talk.

"So," you say swallowing some bacon. "Pick up an interesting people lately dad?"

"Eh, no one too exciting son. One guy did seem...off to me though: cleft chin, cropped hair, he just said for me to take him to the docks. Paid me a THOUSAND for it, he said to keep it...weird guy."

Huh, odd.

You head back upstairs and get some clothes. A hoodie and jeans with a pair of boots before taking a shower, brushing your teeth, and then putting them on.

"Alright. Have a good day son." Your dad says giving you a burly man hug, you hug him back before leaving to school.

You make a mental note to head to meet with the Undersiders after school.

Sometime is spent walking before you make it to school, your first class of the day: history.

In the same room as you is a girl with curly black hair, rail-thin, glasses, she looks pretty gawky in all honesty.

>What now?
>>
>>917245
According to our experiences yesterday, we are the absolute best at friendship, so long as the other party isn't wearing a gas mask. Or is asian. or racist. Try and befriend her?
>>
>>917259
this
>>
>>917259

Couldn't be too bad to make nice with her, right?

You walk over to her and tap on the girl's shoulder. She turns her head to look at you

"What is it?"

"Mind if I sit here?" You ask

She sighs, "Did one of Them put you up to this?" She asks suspiciously.

"'Them' who?"

She raises an eyebrow at you and shakes her head, "S-Sorry. And yeah, go ahead."

You nod and take a seat next to her.

"I'm James. James Puller." You introduce yourself to the girl

"Taylor. Taylor Hebert."

>What now?
>>
>>917298
Small talk time, I guess. Talk about history? The city? Capes? How Shadow Stalker got fucked up by a car, and we have proof on our phone?
>>
>>917298
>ask about her and the town, get to know her
>>
>>917323
>>917349

Since you know jack and shit about this girl, you should ask some small questions. Ease her into things.

"So....how's it going?" You ask, she shrugs.

"Alright I guess, same as usual. You?"

"You could say the same thing about me."

There's a silence for a good moment, what else could you talk about. History? The town? Fuck it, no harm can be done right? Capes? Let's go with something about her

"Anything you want to tell me about yourself?" You ask Taylor

She puts a finger up to her lips for a moment before speaking. "Well, my dad works out at the Docks."

"Oh yeah? What does he do?"

"He's uh...he's a spokesperson."

"Interesting."

"I have a question for you now."

"Shoot."

"Why are you talking to me?"

>How do you answer her?
>>
>>917420
>"I dunno. You seemed lonely, I feel like making friends, and you also look much more interesting than {history topic}."

>>917451

You shrug, "I dunno. You seemed lonely, I feel like making friends, and you also look much more interesting then whatever the hell we're gonna be talking about in here today."

Never mind then, my roll is fantastic, and we can be besties now.

I kinda want to join the wards, purely so that we can admit to beating SS in the face with a car, and act like it was totally accidental. Oddly enough, being an asshole may be her biggest turn-on.

>implying good things happen to good people in worm, ever
>>
>>917550

Oh don't worry anon, you can do that whenever you meet SS. Or check your phone when you meet Sophia.

Either or my friend. Either or

>writing
>>
>>917526

She smiles at you, it's nice.

"Thank you. I think you and I would be good friends James, Jamey, whatever you want me to call you." She says laughing a bit.

You smile, "Don't mention it, Taylor."

And so the two of you hang out for the day as you go between classes, both of you sharing histories and the like. Poor girl lost her mom and one of her own friends betrayed her.

But the day is at it's end, the two of you head out side the building sharing goodbyes. And there is one....quite odd thing.

There's a black limo, and a valet holding up a sign.

'JAMES PULLER'

This person knows your name. Whoever is in the limo

>What now?
>>
>>917594
Clearly they must mean some OTHER James Puller. Just walk on by, and ignore them. We've got to meet the Undersiders soon, right?

Unless it ends up being the PRT, in which case text/call Alec and say we're being kidnapped by the police and can't make it today, so we should reschedule.
>>
>>917594
Just walk on by and go meet the Undersiders
>>
>>917594
I kind of want to see whats up but i really don't want to risk this being a prt thing.
Shit, we gave taylor our number?
>>
>>917610
>>917617

You shrug and walk past the limo, ignoring whoever it is.

You gotta meet with the Undersiders. Have to be there soon.

As time goes by you make your way back to where you met Alec, the red brick building.

You swear you're being watched

>What now?
>>
>>917633
I dunno. If it's the PRT, they are technically the police, and would at most pressure us to join the wards. Which honestly wouldn't be AWFUL.

>>917635
Walk past the building and call Alec. Tell him you just walked past the building but you think someones watching you.
>>
>>917633

Yes. And also

(New person met!: Taylor Hebert
Relationship: Fast friends, have eachother's phone number.)
>>
>>917648
Plus, honestly, one of the main reasons I want to join the wards is to reveal SS's civvie identity, and we can effectively call her out on all her shit.

On the other hand, I do like being independent. It just runs the risk of coil finding us 'interesting'.
>>
>>917648
>Which honestly wouldn't be AWFUL.
it'd be very awful, especially if they hold prison over our heads like shadowstalker.
Better yet, start up our own hero businessmen like new wave but without the foolish lack of secret identities.
>>
>>917678
Decent point. Being a rogue is probably best case scenario for us. Particularly if we could recruit some people to bro it up with us.
>>
>>917648

You make your way past the building, pulling out your phone you decide to call Alec.

"Yeah?"

"Hey, just walked past your spot but uh..."

"'But uh' what? What's wrong?" He asks

"I think someone's following me."

You here Alec talk to someone off the phone, guy has a deeper voice than Alec. You can't really make out what they're talking about.

"Alright." Alec says with a sigh, "Just try and shake whoever it is. Once that's done come knock and I'll let you in."

"Got it."

You hang up and look around....the fucking limo.

>What now?

A simple plan, just tell them to leave. That should work, right?

You make your way to the limo and knock on the passenger's door side.

"Look, can you guys just-"

The window rolling down cuts you off, once it's down you see a skeletally thin man in a black latex suit. The suit has a white snake stenciled on it.

"Come on in, you and I must talk." There's something....off about his voice. Not right about him.

>What now?
>>
>>917744
>"My parents told me not to get in cars with tinted windows with strangers." Then back away.
>>
>>917756

"My parents told me not to get in cars with tinted windows with strangers." You say slowly walking away, the man laughs

"Oh don't worry now boy. You won't be harmed in anyway shape and form. I merely wish to discuss something with you."

Discuss something?

>What now?

He doesn't move for a moment, but he opens up the door and steps out.

"I'm sorry, I may know your name but you don't know mine." He says still as polite as ever, "You may call me Coil."

Coil...well guess that explains why he has a snake on his costume. Your second guess is that he's a pedophille.

He still could be one.

>What now?

>>
>>917879

You back away a foot, that's safer now.

"Alright. Assuming the weird costume is because you're a cape and not a gimp, I'm gonna assume you're here to recruit me for either villainy or vigilantism. So... I guess you can call me Colossus? It's a work in progress. I'm new to this."

He nods, "How astute of you. And yes, I would like to have you be the head of a....'side-project' I want to start. A team you may lead if you so chose to do as you will, but when the time comes you must answer any request I send to you." He says

The limo then drives away.
