Rolled 71 (1d100)

You are a survivor of the post apocalypse who had awoken to find himself with no memories and carrying a strange suspicious satchel. You were however not alone as you encountered a strange man in a suit who gave you directions to the nearest settlement. On the way you encountered an unlucky 'shady hardware trader' who was in truth an arms dealer who preferred the company of machines over people. That person gave you lift to a survivor village where you hoped to find people who would know you. That didn't happen and you took a job with the hardware merchant and followed a trade route.

However on the way you were ambushed by a group of bandits who chased you down. Fortunately they did not shoot at you due to what you had on board. However they DID attempt to board you. They gained on you and when an bandit APC charged off an overpass at you when an ambushed happened trying to take out your engines/shoot you. However both was stopped by the last bot of your new boss. It seemed to be all over with the APC and other bandit vehicles.

However you both were once more saved by the bot who sacrificed itself battered body in a large explosion that took some of the bandits out including the APC and blocked off the package. Thereby ensuring your escape. After stopping for repairs your new boss the Shrouded One swore revenge.
>>

After that you continued onto the next stop. Which as it turned out to be a paramilitary outpost. There goods were given and you got some new temporary comrades were hired on. After that you arranged for a meet for the rest of the exchange and went off to the place. Which turned out to be a hideout of your new boss which was disturbing close to a ghoul den.

There you encountered ghouls for the first time in your memory. They were fast, strong, and tough. They still had some intelligence in them too unlike the zombies. Unfortunately you only found that out the hard way when you accidentally pissed off some their smart ones.

Which resulted in a rather fierce engagement as the smart ghouls lured zombies over to you and proceed to launch their own seperate attack. Fortunately your new boss was quite prepared for this. As suddenly many hidden turrets came online and bots were awoken. The leader ghoul was then 'persuaded' to back down and clean up the mess.

After that and searching the garage. You finally got your AI Core that was in the strange satchel online temporarily. However it was a temporary fix and after finding some maps. You discovered a lead to a think tank who may hopefully be able to return your memories to you.

In that regard you set off figuring you should have enough time for such a side trip. After confirming one of their outposts it turned out one of them knew you and informed you they wouldn't be able to help with the memory. The 'friend' had a very twisted humor and guided you to a place who COULD help.

So that was how you ended up going to banditville. Because apparently they had a dark dok who might be able to help. Once you arrived you followed the plan of your(not so smart) 'friend' of just trying to 'walk right in'...which actually worked.

And you weren't even invisible. You think he may have forgotten that fact though. After that you went to a clinic that had STRIPPER NURSES and both of you cursed about how the bandits got all the awesome shit. Eventually you were taken in back where you were met the dok you stabbed you with a syringe and you passed out.

Upon awakening the Dok informed you that whoever mindraped you REALLY knew what they were doing. As the only stuff you still had intact up there in your brain was your 'survival' stuff. Which apparently was extremely difficult to dig out. Everything else however...

Was gone.

The only lead you got on getting your memory back is maybe...just maybe whoever did this to you still had your memories in their possession. The two people whom might possibly know something about who was behind it is a Madman and a Evil Super Genius. Apparently there were extremely few groups out there in the post apocalypse who could still manage to mindrape someone that hard.

After that you met your friend's girlfriend whom was somehow the ONE uptight crazy bitch bandit in existence and she didn't like you. Like at all and apparently you owe her for debts and payback.
>>
Rolled 5 (1d100)

>>799148
After pissing her off the two of you were finally busted by the bandits. Also as it turned out she WASN'T the only one uptight non slutty bandit bitch in existence. If you hadn't seen it with your own eyes you never would of believed it. Your 'friend' informed you he thought the same thing. Apparently the end of the world fucked people up so hard even the bandits were effected far more then you would of thought possible. I mean who the fuck ever heard of non slutty sexy bandit bitches? Its just not suppose to work that way.

After that your friend revealed himself to be incredibly handsome man as his girlfriend screamed NNOOO as he was butt naked and started to run away. Thereby attracting most bandit attention allowing you to make a much easier getaway. That as it turned out was a real risk as you would later find out after being mistaken for a newbie bandit after losing those who DID remember to follow you(and not that delicious hunk of naked manflesh). You got dragged off to where the newbie seminar where you given information.

Apparently your friend made quite the risk because if he was caught he would get gang raped and tortured to death. However you later found out apparently it was actually a hologram and after discovering some interesting things. Including you a hidden stash of a bandit(that you looted). You headed off and on the outside you ran into your invisible 'friend'. Who wondered what took you so long.

What do?

Oh, it just occurred to me that the Think Tank might be willing to trade a Nanite Vial for something that'll keep AMY up and running on a more permanent basis.

Last thread.

>>799214
Think Tanks take anything that can either help power them, supply, or help in their research. Thing is though they tend to be really fucking picky because they actually can afford to be.

They got the best techs around after all. If they would actually bother to leverage that fact they would even be richer then the megacorp remnants!

>>799206
>Go to the nearby Think Tank
We would like to get something worked out to power our AI Core that would let it use something other than these extremely hard to find power cells, or would keep it supplied with power indefinitely.

A charging/recharging system for the power cells would be nice. But anything that would work would work.

This would also let us get in good with the Assassin Android

Also one of their Stealth units or hologram projectors that our buddy is using might be nice, because I bet a nanite vial is worth more than just a power cell charging system.

>Other?
Leave a payment for our debt to our buddy's bandit gf with our buddy. However much is appropriate out of our Loot Currencies.

Man, what horrible rolls.

On the upside, if we can't make this deal go down we can just give a vial or some shit to the Shrouded one and have her come to negotiate for us.

That's actually probably the wiser idea, now that I think of it. She IS a trader, after all.

New plan

>Go to the nearby Think Tank
Go to the Shrouded One and ask for his/her help. We heard him complaining about this being a most unprofitable trip, and so we've taken it upon ourselves to try to rectify that. We'd like help bargaining with the local Think Tank, who we've actually got a buddy inside so that ought to help out.

As for anything else...well, we've got the equipment that'll let you get your foot in the door with them, Boss, and I'm sure you've got the know-how to turn a profit from what you get. Just keep us in mind whenever you come out of laying low again and maybe throw in a bonus if this sells particularly well.

As for what we're willing give up out of our personal stock for the sake of this deal...

>1-2 Nanite Vials
>1 Large Package of Pure Strange Drugs
>1 Laser Minigun

All those items should be high quality enough to at least pique their interest. The nanite vials are particularly valuable, but I'm sure you already knew that Boss.

"Uhh...your on your own there friend. I can't go back there anytime soon. If I do right now I may get thrown out for reals. So i am gonna have to stay with my girlfriend until things cooldown."

"...Isn't she pissed at you?"

"EXACTLY, I might even get laid this time!"

"..."

"What?"

"Can I leave you some loots to pay off your girlfriend?"

"Oh what do you got? She says that it was pretty expensive being 5 loots. 1 for access, 1 for checkup, and 3 for the brain exam."

"...Damn that's all the loot i got."

"Fuck how did you get so much of it already? I my girl only pulls about 1 a week and she is considered one of the better bandits. I heard 1 a month is the norm."

"Lets just say...I made a clever bet. But really your not coming with? How the hell am i suppose to find the place?"

"What didn't you find an outpost? You should find the place you been there bef-oh right amnesia."

"Do you think I could trade a nanite vial for an AI Core to keep it charged?"

"HAH...no not a chance. Advanced AI equipment is at a premium with Think Tanks."

"...How about a power cell charger?"

"What do you got a reactor or something? Industrial sized? Power cells don't really recharge very well otherwise we would be using batteries and not cells."

"What's so good about cells then?"

"They contain an insane amount of power that can be drained very quickly with ease."

"I thought you said you weren't smart!"

"I ain't its just I know how to read...admittedly not very well and we got some of the best old world knowledge stores. Why the hell do you think we are called Think Tanks?"

"Well fuck..about a hologram projector or one of the stealth things your using?"

"...No way."

"What do you mean?"

"We don't specialize in stealth gear. What we got is what we traded another Think Tank for."

"What about hologram projectors?"

"...They really aren't that expensive unless you want a long ranged one."

"...Goddamn it it can at least buy me a power celling charging system right?"

"Yeah easy but good luck finding a place to use said charging system."

"...Goddamn it. No wonder power cells are so rare and valuable."

"Actually only the micro ones are. The smaller they are the more expensive and rare. Keep in mind you gotta use a power cell with a handheld Gauss weapons. Only the stuff mounted to a vehicle gets away with plugging into a battery. Guess that is why so few of the small ones are left."

"Fuck then how am I suppose to keep an Advanced AI charged?"

"You actually got one of them? They are worth a fortune to the right people, but yeah pretty rare to find them outside special installations. Not to mention those who DO have an Advanced AI aren't likely to be very willing to trade them away."

"So what am I fucked then?"

"Its not that hard to jury rig a system for one its just a pain in you want it man portable. I heard only the most advanced power armors contain a port for a direct advanced AI uplink."

"Goddamn it."

"You know a ride could work."

I think the problem is the small, light-absorbing black box is a featureless cube.
We do still have a locked box however.

>>799478
Man, that's what I was thinking before, but we weren't ready to buy a vehicle at that point.
Oh well, guess we'll barter for a sweet ride once we get to where Shrouded One is going to sell off the rest of his stock.
>>
Rolled 99 (1d100)

>>799478
"Really?"

"Yeah one that has been pimped out enough could include a jury rigged enough system for an Advanced AI Uplink. Or you could find one of the high quality old world vehicles that also have it."

"...So who would have that stuff?"

"Oh you know the guys with the best toys."

"Like you guys?"

"Yeah exactly!"

"What about...what i could afford?"

"Best bet would be the survivors or bandits. Thing is though you gotta really know one who is good with the higher end goods. That ain't easy...what? What are you staring a-oh yeah that would do it!"

"...Fuck. I just got out of that place now I gotta go back inside? Really?"

"Tek bandits would know what they were doing AND the bandits got some of the best jury rigging engineers. Technically the Tek bandits would have exactly what you were looking for. Otherwise your gonna have to shop around among the survivors."

"...Let me guess that upgrades cost a pretty penny now don't they?"

"I honestly got no idea but i can guess that chances are its going to be a rather rare request. Advanced AI aren't that common you know."

"Hm..."

What do?

You still got everything else BUT the loots that you paid off with.

So long as your willing to barter and not asking for anything too expensive you will be fine.

Don't forget you got some REALLY nice gear.

You also have lots of bullets(oh the joys of working for an arms dealer) which are always in demand! You even got clean food and water to trade away. That is also quite valuable.

We ARE a survivor, with the associated perks so if we're actually dedicated to getting a sweet vehicle then we shouldn't have /too much/ trouble saving up for one. >Go back to the Boss
"Hey Boss, I'm back and alive. With some goodies too.

So I had this idea...you said this trip was being most unprofitable. Well I think I may have a way to turn that around. I noticed you had a Think Tank marked on your map, and I think I've got something that'll get them to open up. I've also a little bit of high quality drugs I lifted off the nearby Numbskull bandits that I don't think I'd miss.

So those ought to get them to open up. After that it's up to you, but you've been a trader for a long time so I figure you can probably make a killing if you can get access to their good shit."

>1 Nanite Vial
>1 Large Package of Pure Strange Drugs

"Anyway, we just figured we'd ask. In return we just ask that you keep us in mind whenever you come out of laying low, and that maybe you consider a bonus when we get to the city depending on how well the shit sells.

And as for addressing what the Nanite Vial and Package of Drugs are worth themselves, well we're interested in the following but a buddy from the Think Tank told us they couldn't help us with this. We know you might have some of it in stock though."

>Stealth System/Shield upgrade for our armor
>Something to power AI AMY better, including maybe a power cell charger (though we don't ourselves have reactors that would be capable of recharging them...bet your Assassin Android does though)
>Stealth mods for our weapons, long range mods for our rifle
>Maybe a vehicle that we could upgrade along the lines of this: >>799517

"...hm maybe later. I need to get back to the boss. I been gone...all day? I haven't been missing more then one day right?"

"Nah your examination didn't take that long. Well good luck man hopefully you can find those pricks who took your memory. I am gonna try and get some tonight!"

After that you started heading back. You knew you were close when you ran into a Ghoul Wrangler with his...pets. They very nearly attacked you except one of the chained ghouls gave the wrangler a signal who snorted in response before speaking in that disturbing ghoulish pitch of a voice.

"You smell like that Arms Dealer and were in company of that one...Fine you can go through human. Your lucky your one of those or we would of had a feeding."

"Good to know your kind be reasonable ghoul."

"heh," snorts the ghoul chuckling as it continues on its...what you guess is either patrol or hunt.

It wasn't too long after that you made it to the garage that is actually a hideout. There you saw some big rigs and crates being moved between them by paramilitary grunts. Unsurprisingly you saw that they had already set out some watch posts and guards who were keeping an eye out.

After getting passed them you entered the garage and saw...some modified security bots. One of which the Shrouded One had cracked open and was digging around in its internals. Taking out parts that were suppose to be there and replacing them with those that weren't.

"Hm about time you showed up...here I was hoping you wouldn't return so I wouldn't have to pay you."

"Missed you too boss. I have an idea that might interest you...as you can see I am back alive and well. With some goodies too and I got an idea."

>>799619
"Actually this trip is one of my best ever. Problem is the losses I took...well the costs don't add up. I can get more guns..more bullets. Even the good stuff a lot more...but the bots i lost?"

"Those are near irreplaceable. That is the problem and why this trip has in truth been terrible for me. Now I got no choice but to modify the security bots and actually bring out my Assassin Android. Thing is though its going to draw attention...but I don't got the military bots anymore. Now I gotta go through and drain every. single. One. Of my goddamned hideouts. After that I gotta go back to my HQ and figure out what I am going to fucking do."

"This hideout was unusual was in that it was stashed with a Assassin Android...my others though. Heh that has some good shit but they are in bad places. There is a reason why survivor's haven't wiped me clean yet."

"As for bandit contacts...I already got some. Not a bad disguise by the way but your lacking in mannerisms. Any veteran bandit would have you sniffed out easily and the bigger bandit factions also would be able to. Next time...just don't."

"What about the drugs and nanites?"

"Let me take a closer look here...wait a second. Andy come over here are these nanites what I think they are?"

>>799747
That was when the assassin android appeared out of fucking nowhere. You swear. He picked up a vial...and took a closer look at it.

"...These are...Enhancement Nanites. Only the Paramilitaries have them anymore and they are worth a fortune. One injection can turn an ordinary human into something...more. Paramilitary uses these and gene mods to create their soldiers. Extremely effective...capable of turning even baseline sickly female child into dangerous combatant."

"Fucking hell I thought so but I wasn't sure...I never got the chance to deal in much of those. The paramilitaries absolutely wont put them for sell but damn do they and everybody else wanna buy them."

"...Human you wouldn't happen to have the little device they come with?"

"What device?"

"Package with the nanites bring it out."

"Fine...fine."

That was when the assassin android tore the bag into shreds...and some interesting things fell out.

"Thought so...they even include the Factory."

"Factory?"

"Right you wouldn't know problem with nanite injections...is eventually they wear out. They run out of energy...thereby vastly decreasing their use. However if you insert this piece of tech," explains the assassin android. "Into the target vessel...the nanites will automatically refresh themselves. Seems like you already injected one of the vials...in that case I suggest having a Doc insert this into you and kill the Doc afterwards to keep it a secret."

"Why?"

"...Unlike with the nanites the Factory is reusable. Its tradition for paramilitary dead to have certain augments ripped out of them for recycling. One of these is among the most important."

"Guess that partially explains why paramilitary dead are so valuable..."

"Indeed. They have a lots of good thing stuffed into them. Its partly why they are so deadly."

"So what about the other two packets..."

"I know what they are," says the Shrouded One. "This one...is a packet of medical nanites. See the labeling on the side? Explains what they are programmed to do. The bottom of the packet is suppose to be connected to a blood filtration device to harvest back the nanites when they are done. This other packet...only a corp will know what it is. Docs are familiar with the medical nanites...and boy are they worth a pretty penny."

"What about the corp nanites?"

"...They are industrial nanites. To be exact they are the required and secret building block behind a nanite pool."

"Nanite pool?"

"Part of the reason why the megacorps have such insanely effective manufacturing is their industrial nanites. Problem is the nanites are only hardcoded to cannibalize or create more themselves with a special feedstock. Keeps the Grey Goo scenario from happening you see...problem is not many nanites survived the fall."

"but if you got one of these?"

"Even if its a dead pool with not a single surviving nanite...you crack this open and poor it in. BOOM you got yourself a live pool again. thing about it...one of these things? Are worth an ENTIRE nanite pool. You got the right feedstock and equipment you can even make an entirely NEW pool instead of reviving a dead one."

"Now only a megacorp remnant would know the value of these nanites...nobody else. One of these is worth an entire nanite pool. They are a special breed of nanites. No ordinary industrial ones can do what these ones can."

"Since the Fall happened...most megacorp remnants have had no choice but to use up their reserves. Making one of these...a real treasure. Unfortunately its only good to the megacorp who made it...or you know an extremely good super genius who knows what they are doing."

"Damn and here I thought I had a fortune."

"Its only worth a fortune to the right people. If you can find the megacorp who it belongs to...well you got yourself one big bargaining chip. They'll give you a fortune for it."

"Shame I don't got the memory of it."

"That is indeed a shame...without someone with the skill to crack it or its home megacorp these nanites are worthless."

"What about these drugs then?"

"...Pure. Hasn't been cut yet...and oh my. I do believe that is some pure syn. Better hope a sinner junkie doesn't find out."

"Syn?"

"Super Drug that can give you powers. Even has some...holy shit the slices are even included. This is one hell of a stash...lets see here. Looks like some splice slices for...penis enlargement, muscular growth enhancer, and...psi fuel. Be careful of that last one."

"Why?"

"That slice when combined with Syn will enhance a psion's potential."

"What about a non psion?"

"...Well if your really lucky it will turn out you have potential and enhance it. If not you just wasted it and gained some potential side effects. Its not a Psi Gift Slice so don't treat it as such."

"Psi Gift?"

"It uses Syn to induce a psionic change in the brain. Problem is chances are it will also drive you insane, but hey at least you'll be able to read minds. Unless you use a pure syn combined with a good psi gift will make it so the psionic change is much milder."

"Fucking bandits...why would they even have this stuff?"

"Because being made special can make you stronger thereby keeping you alive...also power is quite addictive. Syn...is really when you get down to it synthesized raw power. So it doesn't just get to your head it also warps your body."

"The rest of the drugs...are high quality and pure. Probably made by one of their Dark Dok's they make some great shit."

"Stealth items? I got it yeah including shields...as for stuff that attaches to armor...maybe. Not easy to find that."

"Power cell charger? I got a small one here hooked up to a reactor. My main one is back at my HQ."

"Now for vehicles...hey Andy what have you found nearby?"

"Besides a the usual civilian slop...I haven't you checked the vehicle warehouse yet?"

"No of course not. Why would i be asking otherwise? Been too busy with the security bots."

"Well we got tanks, big bots, APCs, and a few hover models."

"hm...you been busy. Any of them online?"

"2 APCs, 1 Tank, the hovers, and we need your help with the bots. i hadn't bothered with the other civilian craft."

"Picky bastard."

"We don't have a vehicle focus no? Besides we are an arms dealers."

"Well you heard Andy that is what we got and yeah I'll take a look at the big bots but later. We got some goods to sell first and hopefully some more parts for them to buy."

"Parts for big bots like that are a nightmare boss."

"Yeah I know. There is a reason why I was using the smaller military bots. Wish I could use some big ones...but if we take them all back to my main place I bet I could bring a couple of them online."

"...That is a scary proposition. I like it."

"You like anything that means more things dying."

"Ah you know me so well~"

>>799763
"As a matter of fact we have some of those. They are nice and small, heavily armored, with good weapon systems. Not easy to find but I made sure to loot them so long as they weren't a hover model. Trust me salvaging the hover models are the worse if their propulsion system is busted. Dragging some of them back isn't so bad though."

"Light but armored and gunned military craft is really quite lovely. Boss isn't a fan but they sell quite well."

>>799844
"I don't salvage that slop. I hate making do with civilian models its the worst."

"Andy has issues from his old days. I never bothered to wipe his memory so he has some biases."

>>799884
"I will admit I got the most of those. They are light enough I can easily get it back without drawing too much a fuss or without too much difficulty. Most the vehicles in the warehouse are like that with varying levels of repair. Some of them should be usable given the construction AI and building Bots. Boss always brings the building bots online first. Claims it makes everything easier in the long run."

"You gotta be careful in there though. They ain't exactly friendly to meatbags the boss excluded of course."

Well Boss, we're looking for something that we can upgrade and use as a mobile house. We want to be able to cloak the fuck out of it, put ridiculous amounts of detection systems in it, good comms, and most importantly we want AMY to be plugged into it so she can have all the power she wants.

Does this: >>799763 seem like it'd be able to fit the bill if we could afford the mods?

"hm...hey Boss sounds like wants one of your mobile hideout models."

"No Andy, my mobile hideout has more guns, armor and speed. I do love that thing though. It was so worth the cost."

"Well then what did you use?"

"Paramilitary Super APC modified by bandits and jury rigged upgrades courtesy of some survivor engineers. Basically imagine what would happen if a tank and APC had a baby but was then put on crack along with steriods with an attached stealth shield AND field generator. I use it when I am not trading but still out and about."

>>800074
"What do you have to trade? I got a decent number of those small military recon vehicles. They are very popular. As an Arms Dealer everyone expects me to have the big guns too. Ironically those smaller armored but still well gunned actually sell much better then the big guns."

"Only people buying the big guns are the paramilitary and the Bandits. Its rare when someone else who isn't them wants some."

>>800091
"Should a situation arise when i need to have additional vehicles out...then yes fine, but it will be to my own specs and I'll get it back afterwards."

"Ignore that. Boss can get quite bitchy about the 'right specs' as for payment...i wouldn't expect a vehicle unless its a civilian model. As far as the boss is concerned they're aren't worth much more then the guns."

"Now if we actually bothered with them on a regular basis we could net a decent profit."

"They are a waste time and resources."

"Oh i agree!"

>>800122
"Andy is biased and frankly its a waste of effort. Just like you said plenty of survivors and bandits all work on Old World vehicles you know why that sucks for a trader?"

"hm...Really?"

"Remember the Recon vehicles you wanted? But after you built it you never got around to using them except for me?"

"...Oh right. Do we even still have some of those?"

"Yeah I sorta replaced some space for other stuff though. Like guns. I like guns. Ooh and more stealth!"

"He asked for a mobile house not that ghost ride you use."

"I LOVE THAT THING!"

"Yeah I know."

"So wait...how many ghost rides do you have?"

"Oh I will answer this one. Besides the one i had modified there is actually only a couple different rides. Once they were built I was the only one who bothered using them though. Very handy I do say perfect for an assassin android such as myself."

"For a ride like that...for a living house level space your going to need a Super Model. Its tough getting some light and fast but with lots of space. For rigs like those...how many we got Andy?"

"They sell like hotcakes. We barely have one or two in the storage if that."

"Do we currently have one?"

"As a matter of fact we do but its still in the shop."

"Hm...They aren't cheap. Even if your an employee of mine I wont be selling a super model to you at that large a discount."

>>800074
"Depends on if its a Super model or not. The super model has more space but its a lot more expensive.

Its light, fast, armored, packs a punch and has plenty of room. The super model has all of that.

Non super model or basic is much smaller its greatest weakness is the lack of space but its not too lacking in the other areas compared to the super model.

Gotta remember its a light recon craft they aren't exactly roomy unless you got a nice super or carrier model. Carriers got a lot of room too, but well they have the bulk problem."

>>800091
Arms Dealer. They buy up the armored and armed vehicles as why else would you come to an arms dealer? Detectors and stealth craft are also quite popular though.

I guess consensus is the paramilitary goods and the warehouse...then going to sleep ugh that is going to be a lot to write.

but hey if you get lucky maybe you'll find something good in the warehouse vehicle wise.
>>
Rolled 39 (1d100)

>>800273
You decide to go into the warehouse and hope you'll find what your looking for. You know they already have it but still maybe you'll get lucky! Before you entered though the Shrouded One said your going to need something sealed and a gas mask. You didn't know why until you entered.

As soon as you stepped foot in there you were blasted by massive amount of heat, sharp lights, and toxic gases. When your eyes finally adjusted you saw...a bustling workshop. Except it was mixed with a storehouse and foundry but with all the safety measures removed. Hell it felt like even a mutant wouldn't last long in here.

It was also bustling with construction bots flying around and suspended near a active reactor you could see an AI Core which was transmitting to the surrounding bots. There were little ones moving about in a swarm, medium ones moving about with tools, and large ones heaving materials around or lifting stuff.

The walk ways are narrow and dangerous. Everything is unshielded and running far too hot or cold for life to make its way through. Everything...looked so stripped down. Cannibalized and clearly hostile to intruders. Particularly living ones.

Looking around you saw the small recon vehicle you were looking for but now you were thinking about a super APC...alas you didn't see a super one.

"You what do YOU want," a high pitched metal voice suddenly screamed into your ear causing pain and your comms to burst with static.

"So you told it."

"...tsk something like that you want a super model yeah? We got one of those...still being worked on. Yet you also interested in super APC yeah?"

"YEAH exactly! I want something nice big and safe to move in yah know? You know has all the perks!"

"...Ever thought about a Survivor Nomad Vehicle?"

"A what?"

"Some survivors are nomadic they may have what your looking for."

"Do you have one of those?"

"We work for an arms dealer. What do you think?"

"Yeah...I heard something similar about civilian rides. I swear you all are nothing but a bunch of haters."

"Do recall who we all work for human. This kind of shit is why we don't employ those of fleshy origins like yourself."

"Fine...maybe i'll consider one of those mobile homes."

"They are quite nice and in truth much cheaper then a Super APC."

After that you left and headed towards the paramilitary...who were still unloading their trucks into some nearby big rigs.

"Wow...how long you guys been at this," you couldn't help but ask.

"Awhile now...we gotta sell the Shrouded One everything we don't need AND bot parts. Bots are a nice auxiliary element for us...but truth is we have hard time fielding them. Too many losses but unlike with bodies we can't just breed more of em."

"I see...say you mind me taking a look in some of these crates and boxes?"

"Go ahead."

>>800215
A super craft really any super craft is both worth a lot more and is lot more rare then a basic.

There are only two APC's available and neither are Super models.
>>
Rolled 82 (1d100)

>>800392
You...once you started cracking open crates you were amazed at what you found. Tons and I mean TONS of guns, bullets, and armor. For whatever stupid reason perfectly fine armaments...that wasn't up to their no doubt freakishly high standards.

Frankly you feel rather insulted. A lot of the stuff they were tossing out was actually in pretty good condition. It only got worse as you kept on digging. As after awhile you soon found crates full of food and water too. Stuff that for some reason they didn't want. Taking a closer look though you realized why...it wasn't clean.

Fucking goddamn high standards those rich pricks.

There were even crates full of goods, parts, and such. Stuff like radio parts but wasn't high enough end for use their own comm systems. Basically whatever didn't meet their standards the paramilitary was trading(throwing) away for a SINGLE truck's worth of stuff they DID want.

When you finally thought it couldn't get any worse...you found strange crates hidden here or there. When you cracked them open you sound some naughty goods. Drugs. High end military components...bot parts. Combat Cyborg parts. Papers. Manuals...even intel files. Strange bags and books. So much more. More then you can figure out what the purpose is.

stuff they would be in deep shit for either not destroying or 'losing'. Some of that stuff found its way into these crates. They were however carefully hidden but you damn well managed to find them.

"Nice try Andy nice try."

"Can't blame an assassin for trying."

Day 3.
You awake to find the paramilitary and their trucks gone. Except for a squad of guys. The same previously hired guards from before. Beyond that you also see a now much changed group of security androids.

Except now they were all sporting the same paintjob and their modifications were also oddly uniform looking, but you could in fact tell them apart. Their new look was actually quite organized, scary, and intimidating looking. They were also all packing a heavy weapon, two primary arms, and two pistols. In addition to armor, pack, repair kits, and ammo.

If they weren't robots you doubt someone could lug it all around.

This time when you approached your boss you found a strange sight...the naked assassin android was laid out on a table and cracked open. Was...now no longer quite so naked as the Shrouded One was working on it.

"Yes?"

"Boss about the shipment from before..."

"What is it?"

"That was a test wasn't it," you asked not really expecting an answer.

"Yes it was."

"...Really?"

"In my line of work trust is most important."

"When is it not?"

"Its especially true for my kind you see. As we...those in my profession are stuck crossing lines that should not be so easily crossed. It comes with the profession and we need people who know that...and can keep their mouths shut."

"hm...wow. So uh...you wouldn't mind be taking a look at some of those books or storage bags yeah?"

"Which books?"

"...Magic ones?"

"yeah."

"To see if you can magic your memories back yeah?"

"How do you know that?"

"That was me," suddenly cracked up Andy as he raises his hand. "As assassin droid...I really cannot help myself."

"Yeah...don't be offended by it. He has been trying to figure out how to assassinate me ever since we met."

"Ah...if only I was a man...or a woman. We would SO be made for each other!"

"...So wait magic actually COULD get my memory back?"

"Technically you would be better off with psi, Psi is MUCH better with the mind then magic. Now for me to show a gesture of trust...I might have a lead on who took your memories."

"..."

"Yes I figure that would make you shut up. In truth there are very few groups but with what you have shown me and what i know about mindwiping...well lets just say I know some things."

"What things?"

"Technically any heroic particular psions could purge your mind so hard that there is only the survival bits left."

"...Any hero? Fuck really?"

"IF they could tinker with your mind then yes. However I rather doubt it was a hero behind it."

"Why?"

"Why would a hero go through that kind of trouble for a normal survivor hm? Much less still leave you something."

"...So what about the group options."

"There are certain shadowy groups i heard rumors about. One of which says that in exchange for working for them. They will give some very precious things...at a cost."

"What cost?"

"Your memories. There was something you particular wanted yes?"

"...There was something about my family..."

"There you go. The Devil's Deal. They wish to not leave a trace yet...they sometimes need outside help. In that case why not wipe their memories hm?"

"How am I suppose to find them?"

"Well they are a rather paranoid bunch and don't you see why now? At least they left you with something. So hey wasn't a complete lost."

"Wait a second. There was a man there when I awoke. Was he connected to them?"

"How should I know? Did it occur to you that you should ask him?"

"That guy is wearing a suit and has an old world hat on right," asks Andy suddenly speaking up.

"There are rumors of a man who asks you some questions..after you woken up. Thing is nobody knows WHY or HOW they got there. Everybody has heard the stories bandit, mutant, machine, or man."

"So?"

"...They say that man is a devil, a god, representative or even a harbinger."

"What of it?"

"They say he works for a certain group and recruits people. You do them a solid they'll grant a wish...but wipe your memory. You have no recollection of that wish ever coming true. Sometimes you don't even know who you are."

"...But why?"

"That is the thing nobody knows...but personally I don't think that man is actually human."

"How so Andy," asks the Shrouded One now curious.

"I talked to some mutants. One day two men appeared in the wasteland. One of whom was in a protective suit...and the other wasn't. The one who wasn't pointed the way out of the wasteland...and you know what became of that man who came out of the wasteland?"

"...Can't be. Wasn't that the hero-"

"Aye it twas. Nobody knew where he came from...but the mutants the mutants did."

"Hm...I didn't think the rumors of The Man was true."

"You hear stories about The Man...dating back to the very Fall. Funny thing about the rumors though is they all start the same way. One day somebody wakes up in a strange place and there is a man wearing a hat in a suit sitting there and looking out into the distance. He asks some questions and answers a few...but he never leaves that spot and he is never seen again. Some rumors say he runs solo...others say he works for a shadowy organization."

"...Is there any chance I can find him?"

"No. The stories all agree on how he is never seen again. Your best bet is finding that group who did this to you."

"How am I going to do that?"

"That satchel...it is Marked with that strange symbol yeah?"

"Well...yeah actually what of it?"

"That symbol is from the mysterious group that goes by a many different names. Who knows which is true...but they all say this. You work for them they do you a favor but you get mindwiped because they are secretive like that...thing is though they always leave that mark behind. You know why?"

"Why?"

"So that way people know they kept their end of the bargain! Or at least...it can look that way. If you wanna find the bastards who did this you gotta follow the symbol and try to find another recruiter. Good luck though they take care to avoid people they did business with before."

"Sounds like an awful lot of hearsay..."

"Well there were very valuable items in the satchel and that bore their mark no? They can only keep doing business if people think they might exist...and know that if they do they really do pay for it. There are a lot of desperate people out there. So long as its not completely unknown...they will go for it. You have the survivals skills as a new worlder so how can you be so sure you weren't that desperate too?"

"Look what happened...a pack full of very valuable things that bears that mark."

"...Will they come after me? And why...why did I choose to accept? Choose to undergo the risk and do it..."

"I don't know but if you chase after them...you may very well be going on a merry goose chase."

"Why you ask."

"Because," explains the Shrouded One. "Who says its only one group who uses the symbol?"

"What?"

"Don't you think its a little TOO perfect? Too organized and most of all...too damned useful? Think about it if your a group who needs to lay low...if you got the means then you mindwipe and leave the symbol with the payment. But if you don't you can still use the symbol and the show right? "CQC? You should talk to either our heavy, the guy who loves martial arts, or the guy who takes front during our operations. They know the best CQC."

You ended up settling for the guy who takes front. Which as it turns out was a great idea. He was very good with shotguns, pistols, AND SMGs. Apparently that is part of the reason why he goes up front(god I wish I remember the actual term). So you practiced shooting things...while closer and with weapons more meant for close quarter combat. Like what you will usually encounter in an urban environment for instance.

By the time you were you set out with two big rigs and some additional escort vehicles. Bots climbed their way up the sides and on top. People meanwhile were actually inside the vehicles. You noticed some bots even went into the cargo area itself. No doubt for ambushing purposes.

Next up the nearby trade hub.

"Andy do the birds have anything to report?"

"PZZT No Sir. PZZT. Well nothing except from the usual. As usual the bandits got no idea we are coming by but that doesn't mean we wont run out of luck. You know the usual ambush spots or bad luck. PZZT."

"Well what besides the bandits?"

"PZZT Maps are still accurate just don't get too delayed you might get caught up into something then that would obviously be bad."

"Fine," after that the Shrouded One sat back...and proceeded to take a nap while a bot drove the vehicle.

It turned out to be a very boring and uneventful ride. You were tempted to shoot at passing monsters and zombies out of sheer boredom. After awhile you noticed threats were becoming fewer and fewer...a tell tale sign you are approaching a place of real civilization. Sure enough you saw it.

A large fortified township that has spilled over into the surrounding area. The hustle and bustle was quite a lot. You could see groups from nearly all factions...even what you would assume to be mutants or bots given how covered up they are...wait come to think of it...aren't they dressing an awful lot lik-

Hm now occurs to you that your boss may in fact be inhuman.

How the fuck did you miss that?

This question you pondered you drove and were stopped by some guards.

"HALT BOTS ARE NOT ALLOWED BEYOND THI-" shouts a guard as an irritable Shrouded One sticks its head out.

:OI SHUT THE FUCK UP AND SEND OUT WALLACE. WALLACE WHO IS THIS PUNK? I THOUGHT YOU HAD RESPECT FOR YOUR GODDAMN MERCHANTS WHO TRADE YOU THINGS THAT KEEP YOU ALIVE! WALLACE?"

Suddenly a very fat man appears from above and drop kicks the poor poor guard sending him flying.

"Ah my profuse apologies," begins the now you see very short and fat man. He actually looks like a ball. "Shrouded One...you usually don't bring in this much? What gives? I really didn't know it was you."

"So I guess I should turn these around and go to your competition the Riv-"

"Oh no of course not! Its just that...um...well not many use bots as so heavily and they are awfully frowned upon..."

"Wallace I swear if this shit continues I am going to offer my wares to the bandits and good luck proving it due to my robotic only policy."

"HAHAHAH your such a joker Shrouded One...my favorite Shady Hardware Dealer. Fucking hell your even harder to deal with then the Corp merchants."

"Well duh. They use man who are prone to...problems. Machines on the other hand are much more trustworthy!"

>>801384

Yes exactly that. I don't know why but for some reason I could not recall the term Point.

Normally I ain't half bad with my military jargon, but it has admittedly been awhile and my illness can fuck with my head...normally I can dodge around it by using a different term but damned sometimes you really run out of luck like that. Not actually have any other terms to use.

>>801390
Yes totally that(I wish) but technically inaccurate. Paramilitary would NEVER forget military jargon. Its sunk so damned deep in their bones that other factions are half convinced the paramilitary came up with a new language for tactical purposes/fucking with other people.

They may in fact have a point given what their strong use of jargon and encryption.

Its kind of like the ThinkTanks and their love of excessively long and complicated words. Which is a surprisingly effective encryption when you recall how much knowledge is lost and they further mix their specialty jargon into their speech.

"Swear some day your going to get busted Shrouded One and on that day my fatass is going to laugh so hard i turn skinny. As i hear you about you getting stuck with the bandits, tortured, and raped to death," says Wallace while waving you through.

In response the Shrouded One waved a hand out the window in his direction "Love you too Wallace. Tell your fat ass wife i'll be disappointed if she doesn't die laughing at seeing the opposite thing or shock seeing you turn skinny happen."

In response the one known as Wallace guffawed as he waddled away...and that is how you passed the checkpoint without getting searched. That was when you were in the REAL hustle and bustle. As the Arms Dealer set up shop on the side while crates were taken down and opened. After that hawking the wares while the Security Bots took formation. Meanwhile the soldiers once they grabbed their pay disappeared into the mass of humanity.

Unsurprisingly Andy the Assassination Android was nowhere to be seen and you got called over to the side by a Security Android who opened a side box before saying

"LRD Sniper Rifle. Excellent choice. Weapon is equipped with recoil compensators once you line a target you can keep shooting at said target with minimal kick. Allowing for full auto sniping. Equipped with Smart system installed and able to connect to HUD and other devices. Be warned ammo is large and hee-heavy. Originally designed against large targets that were weak to repeated powerful pin point shots hitting same location to take down. Sniper Rifle was designed for such a function. Can even penetrate heavy armor and shields due to taking advantage of same hit area."

"Any other quirk about the rifle?"

"...Checking data banks of weapon registry please hold...files found."

"LRD Third Series sniper rifle. Manufactured in a megacity Octon and shipped to many armies. Proud product of Greae Corporation. Flawed Overheating Heating system. Temporary Fix in Second Series was easily changing barrel. Third Series replaced with advanced cooling system. Requires either water or other cooling substance into chamber hanging below barrel. Please ensure its filled at all times and be warned weapon has been known to steam with heavy use. Should weapon however change color continued firing is not advised."

"Any other problems?"

"LRD Sniper Rifle is rather heavy but sturdy and munitions are also large sized. Can serve as shoulder fired Anti Vehicle Rifle."

"...Wont that break my fucking shoulders?"

"Equipped with Advanced Recoil Compensation Systems not an Issue."

"Why wasn't it more common then?"

"Expensive. Requires difficult materials and advanced technology."

"...So how maintenance heavy is it then?"

"Reloading, barreling, and Firing system suffer heavy wear. Advised to Regularly Check Cooling System. No or damaged cooling system results in compromised rifle. Can still fire however it will not be able to endure long sustained firing of it."

"So it lost the barrel quick change?"

"...Is flaw suppose to have been fixed with Series 4. Cooling system compromised easy exchange of barrel. Quick fix was not effective on barrel hence must be swapped in Second Series."

"There was a quick fix?"

"Not very effective but it enabled for for rest of rifle to be protected problem is this was not true for the barrel. Hence series 2 allowed for easy swap of barreling."

"Shit is there anything you don't know about this gun?"

"No."

"Anything else to look for then?"

"Do not load mags to maximum capacity. Shortens life of magazine."

"...Okay anything else?"

"Scope requires battery to be swapped regularly for maximum performance."

"...Anything else?"

"Do you really wish to hear it all?"

"...Fair enough. Gotta say though you got one HELL of a nice library inside that head of yours."

Yes some of the weapon's in the setting is like /k/'s wet dream. I ran into the cooling problem when I used the energy cell to bypass some of battery problems. So then I had to come with a new fancy cooling system and...yeah.

Had to use energy cells as hyper dense batteries was a bitch to explain. Much less being able to capacitors that can endure a lot of fucking charge at once which is important for energy weapons. Seriously man the power those things burn through is insane even today.

Real pain in the ass ty Energy Cells TM for all my electrical and battery bullshitting needs.

As for power bullshitting you can thank reactors and geothermal for that. Admittedly quite expensive but Sci Fi they can totally afford it. and if you couldn't its not like you can't find one in the Post Apoc that is no longer needed.

>>801622
"Hey boss...so about a contract renewel."

That was when a security bot responded. Okay that is starting to get annoying.

"Contract short term payment will be in Energy Shield Device. Ammo needs will be covered free of charge. Other resupply will not. If you discuss work with others penalty is VERY slow and QUITE painful Execution."

Long Term Contract available. Will end when all hideouts have been wiped. Payment will be Stealth Field Generator. Same rules apply."

"Which do you wish to agree to?"

Meanwhile the Shrouded One bartered with others taking all kinds of goods in exchange for the weapons, armor, bullets, and some other hardware. You noticed certain robotic components or other quality hardware received the 'best' deals from the Shrouded One. Goods went into emptied crates that were moved back into the rigs by the bots. Over time they were swiftly being drained.

Client wise...there was a very wide assortment. Usually the lower to mid class however. The people from the remnants ignored the goods being offered. You saw faithful zealots purchasing goods to continue their 'good mission'. You saw some shrouded figures who approached and whispered some things to the Shrouded One. In response a crate was moved out from the big rig and a bag was exchanged for it. The bag however...disappeared into the shrouds and did not surface. You even saw other shrouded individuals approach and purchase weaponry before vanishing their new goods into their shrouds as they wandered off. They...payed in some of the weirdest and highest end tech you ever seen though goddamn. You even saw some tribals come forward to purchase some items but bizarrely the Shrouded One seemed the most excited with dealing with these people as a whole unlike the others. They haggled back and forth before finally agreeing to some terms. There bags were exchanged for crates. The bags were then thrown in back.

You saw the typical survivors young and old. Man and women all desiring instruments to protect and to kill. There were only a few incidents most of which ended in a bullet as a bot suddenly open fired and killing a would be thief.
>>
Rolled 16 (1d100)

>>802020
Things changed a bit however when it was a kid as a bot suddenly leaped forward and pounced on a kid who attempted to grab something without paying. This actually caused people to take notice and even the Shrouded One paused looking over to see a kid begging before nodding towards the bot. The Security Android than proceeded to drag the kid roughly to the back and disappeared...

You also saw some more official looking survivor types who approached with heavy escort and then a rather heated argument broke out between them and the Shrouded One. It wasn't long before a shouting match broke out. That was when weapons started being raised on both sides and people started getting the fuck out of there.

"GUARDS! You hear that ARRES-"

He didn't even have a chance to finish when the grenades went off and bullets were being sent flying everywhere. on a somewhat unrelated note I just found the theme music for Andy.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dILCEPS6m2A&ab_channel=Safros

Andy's theme music.

Meanwhile a certain bloodbag was bleeding out like a stuck pig...on the rooftops.

"FUCK WE ALREADY LOST TEAMS A TO FUCKING X WHO IS THIS GUY?"

"Where are the goddamn SNIPERS?"

"They're all dead sir! We don't know what the fuck this guy is but he sure as shit ain't human! We can't catch a bead on him he moves too fucking fast!"

"Goddamn it our guys are getting fucking slaughtered out there why haven't the powered armor guys arrived yet?"

"We are on the edge of the barter district and they concentrate around the most important areas its going to take time before they show up."

"Fuck even the GODDAMN SECURITY DROIDS ARE KICKING OUR ASS..."

Meanwhile on the other side of things.

"Andy how is it up there?"

"Going splendidly I got all the snipers!"

"Not fast enough I am afraid."

"Ah why?"

"Bloodbag is bleeding out. Even with the good armor he got shredded twice and sniped once. Guess they realized the security bots weren't so easy to take down."

"Wait...how is he not dead?"

"Exactly and I know you know how to patch up meatbags. Finish up there and get down here. We are pulling out."

"I don't think we can manage that so easily Boss. BESIDES I AIN'T NO DOC. I END LIVES NOT SAVE THEM. These guys clearly knew you were coming in weak they set up an ambush. If we go outside we'll be running into another one."

"We don't got much choice if this keeps up their hero is going to find out and who do you think they are going to blame? Besides I know you damn well could serve as a medic droid why do you think I never got one?"

"...Fair enough. I'll be right down."

"Once you sweep them out on the roofs again then come. I am leaving some security droids at the chokepoints to delay them."

"Oh I'll be right down..." says Andy has he jumps down to the enemy below.

"HEAR THEIR SCREAMS BOSS? I'll BE THERE WHEN THERE AIN'T ANYMORE BETWEEN US!"

"...Well suppose that is one way to get here...should of worded it better. Of course he is going to take the route that will cost the most lives. Hey Andy you BETTER have the goddamn package."

"AH HEAR THE SCREAMS? SEE THE BLOOD SPILL. GUTS GUTS OF THE LIVING AND BEGS OF THE DYING SOUNDS LIKE MUSIC FOR MY NONEXISTENT ROBOTIC SOUL!"

"...Yeah he ain't listening anymore. I know the directions say when they get that you really need to mindwipe them, but damn if he ain't at his killiest when he is like that. Security Androids do we have everything?"

"All lives in vicinity lost. Goods are in secure custody. Wounded Friendly has been retrieved."

"Dispatch teams to the check points. At the gate I want a heavy weapon's team."

"Roger That."

"ANDY WHERE THE FU-oh wow that is a lot of...i am SO not cleaning up after you. Your gonna wash your own damned self."

"Sure it wont kill him?"

"You kidding? The guy just ate two shreds of close up gunfire AND a sniper bullet. As if some drugs are going to kill him."

"Just because the meatbag is unusually resistant to lead doesn't mean he is resistant to drugs."

"Just try to save him he is amnesiac remember? Where are we going to find someone like that we can groom so easily without resorting to kids?"

"Right I forgot your child grooming program."

"Just save his life alright? There is a reason why keep a surgical stuff with me. In case I need it."

"Don't blame me if he dies...oh wow that is a big ambush."

"Too bad those idiots didn't realize I saw it coming. Security Bots unleash the heavy weapons."

Some distance away..."There they are! Get in position la-oh hell that is a lot of fucking missiles DODG-"

"Greetings nameless human you have survived the operation and are truly very lucky. Welcome to...Bullet City, Town of Guns, and the home of the WAR Smiths. By the way you owe the Shrouded One for your medical care and it isn't cheap!"

"Why...why save me?"

"Makes you an excellent and worthwhile investment!"

"Oh please tell me there is more then just you annoying androids around here."

"We got zombies!"

"...oh goddamn it I am going to have to fight my way out of here aren't i?"

Amy is indeed lost.

You attempt to look around to see if your gear is in the same room. Unfortunately it is not but there is an attached bathroom area and oddly enough a uniform with your coat and hide boots. Your previous survivor modified to bandit outfit and armor is destroyed which is probably why its not here right now. There is a note tucked in your coat stating your gear is at the armory getting looked over(it is probably damaged after all) and the AI was taken to some place referred to as 'the hub'. Interestingly your two books one on magic and the other banditry primer is side by side on the table. The bandit book in particular is opened to a particular page with a zombie on it.

The Security Android has since left the room but it would appear to be standing on guard...but its ignoring the zombies wandering around. They would appear to be slowly figuring out how your nearby.

The zombies from the look of things appear to be some kind of infected but they are slow moving with a haggard gait and twitching. Turns out the page the bandit book is opened to talks about these kind of zombies. They are a type of infected but they survived the Fall because the disease they carry slows the body activity until times of stress which will cause it to become increasingly active. Basically these guys can hibernate AND go berserk. Makes them quite the pain to deal with as they are liable to ambush you and they hit hard as well as fast.

They are not however as tough as a ghoul but they can still take a good beating before going down.

Bandit advised tactics is a trick known as a meatstick. The zombies don't react to sound when hibernating and they wont see you either but they DO have their noses. Once they catch the scent they'll start to wake up. Fortunately they don't wake up right away giving you time to gtfo. In which case your best bet is a boombox if they are awake as the sound will draw their attention so long as they don't see you or the meatstick trick.

Meatstick is basically bait on a stick possibly with a radio attached playing music. Zombies will sniff it out first and they'll head in that direction. Giving you time to either run or ambush them. Useful for going inside areas you don't know are clear. Its very important to use something that is very smelly otherwise they'll ignore the bait and go after you.

Meatstick is known to fail against the likes ghouls and other monsters due to increased intelligence but with zombies its quite reliable. This particular type of a zombie is a pain to deal with but on the plus side at least they don't got mutant zombies. hibernating, berserking, and gathering in groups makes it hard.

Meanwhile in another part of the facility...

"HOW THE HELL DID THIS HAPPEN? Why the FUCK would a bunch of damned zombies move in? There isn't anything fleshy around here...So WHY?"

"Well...you forgot to put zombies on the hostiles list."

"...Wait really?"

"Yes."

"...So its my fault."

"Yup."

"How was I suppose to know this would happen? Zombies don't got any interest in metal and they make a good deterrent. So how the hell did we end up with a bloody zombie infestation?"

"That is a very good question Shrouded One."

"...So what is the answer?"

"Zombie Wave from the Megacity. They are heading towards the wilderness with its monsters for food."

"...Shouldn't the rampant machines have stopped them?"

"We aren't located that deep in the rampant sector. We just got unlucky the wave hit this area."

"Argh...what a head ache. Once we kill them all this place is going to be covered in biohazards for months. To burn it out we'll exhaust our liquid fuel supplies AND I wont be able to sell flamers. Who doesn't like flamers? How could I call myself a arms dealer when I run out of ammo and a gun?"

"Well its not like you were planning to go on another trade mission any time soon. Should we wake up the big boys?"

"No use the Security Models and the military bots especially. Sec bots have a similar tactics installed in all of them but the military models wont. They need to get used to working together."

"Alright. No big boys...what about the security models?"

"Besides key facilities I want them to secure the perimeter. No one comes in NO ONE."

"And the military bots?"

"They are going zombie hunting."

"What about the industrial ones?"

"They still got work to do with me having drained all my hideouts. They are going to be busy for awhile."

"What about the amnesia guy?"

"He should still be in a coma right? He'll be fine the security bot there has strict orders to let nothing in. If it gets into trouble nearby Sec Droids will be alerted automatically."

"You any idea what your going to do with him boss?"

"Well he seems to like shooting and wandering around so...honestly I am not entirely sure."

"...Then why recruit him?"

"Hey do you think he'll be good with software? I really REALLY need a software guy. Your fucking terrible at it."

"Hey its not my fault they just wanna kill everything you any idea how hard it is it bypass a robotic law on the living? Your lucky I can even manage it. Plus its not like your that great with it either."

"That is why I need a software guy!"

"...Best bet is the remnants or a tech scavenger."

"One day I am going to find someone good with software and on that day I am going to build a robot army."

"Who LOVE KILLING!"

"...You ever thought about what would happen if you ever ran out of things to kill?"

"Its a good thing living things love fucking so much!"

"Hah...whatever. Just take me to the workshop. I would go on my own but with zombies and I finally got what you been needing."

Not very. You have a two windows one in the hallway and the other outside which is covered in zombies. "Yes you will. It took forever to get all the necessary parts and kitting but i finally managed it. Just...be careful alright? This stuff is a utter nightmare to find. Replacements are well you know how hard it is to get more of it."

"Indeed. Alright I can't WAIT. With me being back a 100% I can kill SO many things..."

"First time i ever seen you so excited that didn't involve murder."

"That is because this HELPS me perform even MORE murder!"

"Your a simple machine Andy complete waste of that advanced AI. Could of used a dumb War AI and there would be hardly a difference."

"At the end of the day we both kill things. I am just required to be much smarter about it! So is it really so wrong to love what we do?"

"...Its things like that Andy is why people are terrified of the machines taking over."

"I thought that was due to rampancy and super smart AI?"

"Not entirely no."

"So is there anything you need me to do boss when I am at 100%?"

"Investigate the survivor group who shot at us. I have a feeling the competition is involved I just don't know which one."

"No survivors?"

"No survivors. Once you find out who I want you scout them and then we'll make some preparations."

"What KIND of preparations?"

"Big Bot kind."

"Oh...you never used them before."

"Exactly. Plausible deniability. I DO want you to capture a few of them though. I plan to take over their operations and i wanna have some fun. So I need a few captives."

"Aww...wait don't we have the thing with the bloodskulls?"

"Yeah its going to be tough to make it on time."

"We'll be disguised as bandits and I am going to use a speed freak ride. Nobody is going to look twice at two extra bandits."

"...Risky should something happen boss."

That is why I am taking some air support. Worse comes to worse I can call down a bombing run or air drop reinforcements."

>>803703
...art.

Art and fluffing is worth good stuff.
>>
>>803708
Anons sometimes supply the Genie with good stuff. Biofuel for instance resulted from an argument during the very first civ.

There was some tech also resulted from and even factions. Heroes. Stuff like that.

Other than that there is some art stuff too. Usually its civ and hero related.
>>
Rolled 15 (1d100)

>>803742
I will admit I need to come up with a better name then fucking biofuel but its kinda hard when the stuff can literally be synthesized by any organic matter should you have the proper tools. The tools of which was easily possible in the setting so I couldn't actually say no.

The last time anons came up with a piece of tech was sadly during V101 civ long ago. An anon cooked up some really cool ideas for tech in universe and despite the civ losing. They lived on because they joined up with another faction. They also had the most bad ass units ever seen in a single civ.

Those fucking scouts man.

Most fluff that has been provided usually involved a civ or hero. Ordinary fluff or stuff relating to tech was the rarest. On a few occasions anons have even come up with different zones and areas.

Modalvania is an example as well as a certain jungle and even a megacity was fluffed up one time.

Its a pain trying to develop the tech excuses in universe. Power cells for instance resulted from something much stronger then a hyper dense battery and had powerful conductors so it could survive the massive energy output. They are pretty bullshit but I literally had nothing to go on.

Basically they use exotic materials and new sciences to create something bullshit like a power cell. Excuses like power cells are actually the exception.

Most tech in setting is actually just upgraded stuff of what we already possess. Guns for instance are not very easy to upgrade but there ARE theoretical ways. I just expanded the tech to be able to manage accomplish said ways. Including a smart system that acts like a spotter for snipers and then some. Throw in some advanced recoil compensation systems for further upgrading.

Admittedly its not awesome like say energy weapons but it is something at least. It ensured that hey guns are both advanced and primitive due to post apoc. Without even getting into bullshit stuff like elemental and such.

handheld energy weapons only exist due to energy cells. Otherwise I would of been stuck making them vehicle and ship only but i was like 'fuck this I am gonna have some handheld energy weapons' and that is how power cells came to be, also power armor. Minimizing reactors is...tough field of science. So I copped out and used energy cell to start with. You do have mini reactors they are just the sorta thing that powers vehicles and they were getting to the point of being small enough to fit into power armor because some nice nuclear tech anons pointed me in the direction of some new breakthroughs for it.

I needed a bullshit excuse alright? I do like keeping stuff somewhat grounded in reality because reality is all we know but there are exceptions. Like power cells, mobile bases, and giant robots.

Because lets be honest that stuff is awesome, but sometimes I gotta have something bullshit like power cells to help facilitate. Particularly when I don't have any real world shit to rip off of.
>>
Rolled 66 (1d100)

>>803812
Yes this means you can thank your fellow anons for the fallout tier power armor. I actually had to retcon it thanks to them. Hadn't realized there had been some theoretical breakthroughs regarding the miniaturizing of reactors that had managed to go that far.

Previously I just used it to power vehicles which was fucking sweet because it could actually power all the insanely power hungry techs like energy weapons, shields, and all kinds of fun stuff. In truth that is still where you'll encounter most energy weapons and powerful shields among other things are going to be attached to a vehicle with a reactor onboard. Mostly due to all that technology being mature and the handheld stuff was still newish by the time the Fall happened.

You decide to grab the bandit book and go into the bathroom. Once you were inside you looked around besides some grooming equipment, cleaning supplies, and a shower curtain on a rod...wait rod?

So you pulled off said rod and acquired yourself a weapon. After that you sat down and started to read the book. It was poorly organized but you were originally going to curse about because of how hard it was to find stuff on zombies when you stumbled upon some home chemist pages. After taking a closer look at them and the cleaning supplies available to you. You realized that you could make something up real quick...

huh maybe it was disorganized like that on purpose?

Acquired 1 caustic balloon 'grenade'.
Acquired 1 toxic gas 'grenade'.

After that you found some stuff on zombies. Besides the obvious protecting yourself from bites. Information that tight clothing is best and how dumb zombies are. You finally found some interesting material...

Zombie combat tactics. In it described in detail how zombies fight including illustrations on it and how to best counter these kinds of attacks. Including dirty strategies like meat bait. Zombies will munch whatever they can get their hands on...which means either 1 their hands are full or 2 their mouth is should you have bait. It may also provide a temporary distraction for some of them.

This is a very good thing. It even described tactics for using zombies as weapons or bait. Including some crazy stuff claiming that by doing so you can lure out rarer zombie strains. Some strategies for how to 'tame' zombies. How to lead zombie hordes away(or to) a certain target. Among other kinds of filthy information.

You honestly doubt some of the claims like zombie taming or drawing out certain rarer zombie strains, but everything else seems to be good.

This, also plumber here. Did you know 90 of water supplies are linked to their appliance by something called an "easy hooker", this is a rubber pipe contained within a steel weave, very strong, very flexible to and generally come in atleast 450mm lengths, in a general bathroom there should be atleast 8 of these and they have the connection built in to link to one another.

I suggest we do so and use them as sleeves/hand guards.

Finally use a piece if broken mirror to look around corners and if worst comes to worst toilet seat shield.

Maybe steal the motor of the room extractor fan? They often run on their own power too
>>
Rolled 95 (1d100)

>>804044
...no i did not know that.

I don't think plumbing would of really changed that much so it should work. Or at least i haven't really heard of any new tech breakthroughs that would really effect plumbing that much. Not really a tech that needs to change that much. The toilet seat cover was used to fashion a crude seal thanks to some...somewhat melted plastics and stuff you tore out of a chair.

What would you give for some tape right about now, but you know how to tie knots. You also made sure to break the mirror and took a look at the fan to see if it was still operational. Turned out it was so you tore it out too. Fans are worth a decent chunk thanks to the whole help keeping you cool.

Well besides some possible water rationing stuff but that would only be desert or wasted worlds where water is a pain.

>>803984
>>803941
You decide to start tearing stuff apart in order to fashion together some crude armor. Unexpectedly it turned out the coat slits that were slots placed in it to hold stuff including armor sheets. That and lots of pockets anyway.

Gotta hand it to the bandits at times they really do know what they are doing. A survivor coat wouldn't have those slots do to the extra weight that would slow you down.

By now the zombies were now battering down the door...and the security bot had gotten swarmed and appears to be down. Dumb ass should of fired first instead of letting them get that close.

You decide to continue reading the book and ran into some stuff regarding a zombie virus cure. Bandits have found that if you used a noxious enough cocktail they cooked up you could potentially burn out the infection before it turns you into a zombie or you kill you. Apparently some dark doks were the ones who came up with a few recipes and should you get infected it might just save your life.

Apparently recovering from it is a real bitch. You also found some text and illustrations regarding bandit style fighting against zombies. Which involved a lot of bullets compared to what the familiar sniping your more familiar with.

A bandit tactic is to shoot their legs out followed by blasting their torso and head if they need to buy time. Or starting with the torso and working their way up. They do so in such a way as to take advantage of the kick of the weapon. Apparently it was used to help compensate for panic among the ranks.

They say it works against even mutant zombies and even against the dreaded undead zombies who can take an insane beating.

Bandit melee zombie fighting style is also rather insane, because they rely upon tanking and bait instead of dodging and running your more familiar with. They heavily armor up their arms and using it block even taking bites so they can get a hit in. Or just slamming a gnawing zombie skull into a wall. Should a bandit risking being overwhelmed they prefer the bait and slam trick.
>>
Rolled 95 (1d100)

>>804144
A bandit even in heavy armor risks getting crushed to death should he get swarmed to heavily. Bandits figured out if you use bait and slam you can trick the zombies to give you some space. It relies upon line of sight being broken.

Zombies are idiots but they are very stubborn idiots. thing is though if they get distracted they'll completely forget about you. Bandits figured out bait being thrown behind the zombies will lure away the zombies you haven't actually seen you and are just tagging along.

If your still heavily outnumbered the next trick is actually to charge INTO the zombies and push your way through a bit. It works because once the line of sight is broken the zombies wander back to the bait and your armor can hopefully take a few hits. Doing both will vastly decrease the number of zombies your dealing with giving you either enough time to run or change the situation.

if your unlucky or too lightly armored your going to be dead either way.

Another trick is what they refer to as a FAZ or Fake Armored Zombie. Zombies are idiots but most tricks used to fool them only works temporarily...which can indeed save your life but what if you need something...long term? The bandit answer was a FAZ.

FAZ works by drenching a suit of heavy armor in zombie guts and completely obscures the guy inside it. Doing so will fool zombies completely so long as you do not speak and don't fuck up your movements too badly. Also not having the misfortune of running into the wrong mutant zombie. The FAZ works by preventing the zombies from getting a good look at you AND by covering up your scent. Some particularly crazy bandits even use it and have zombies follow them along but apparently that kinda of detailed info belongs to the Zeds and there is a zed section within the book. Or the crazy bandits who tried to tame zombies with mixed results.

Apparently unlike with survivors the bandits do the exact opposite. aka heavy armor, charging in, and lots of noise. All three of which are big no no for non bandits. Of all things though the crazy fucks actually pull it off no doubt with some losses but still. Bandits even use it as an exercise to season up their new guys.

After figuring out the ones you needed you grabbed three different crystals. Broke pieces off them and ground them into a powder that you than mixed together. After that the syn was take out and you sliced it with the psi enhancer.

Finally you injected the calibrated syn and snorted the powder.

At first you felt nothing...then your nose started to pour with blood and a migraine descended on you. you could feel dripping coming from both ears...then your eyes and finally your mouth started to taste of copper. Your head...no brain felt like it was about to explode. Meanwhile your mind...it felt like it was a balloon with too much air about to pop.

The agony...it just kept on building with a strange power that threatened to shatter your very mind. Suddenly out of seemingly nowhere...the pain started to ebb away.

At first you were confused when you noticed a strange clarity of your mind...was started to cloud. As the emptiness of your mind...was finally started to be filled.

But not with memories.

Oh no...it was power.

PURE POWER!

A dam finally broke inside of you...the power that threatened to explode started to rush out. Your very body started to feel funny...and vibrate no not right. Cackle with strange energies started to move its way through you. In particular it gathered around nerves, spine, and most heavily in your brain.

Previously you felt empty...felt unsure. Felt strange.

but now...that feeling was gone but you did not feel as hallow as before as a newfound power anchored itself into your rather empty but tranquil mind. You also felt something else...lurking there that raw power in the purest physical form melt away slowly even as it tempted you. More...more power it promised. True Power...pure power. Power in Essence. Power that can be touched by not just mind but also by Body.

Fatepoint activating.

Syn Addiction Prevented.

Gained Trait Psion.

As the newfound power began to gather itself in your mind you felt a strange tugging sensation...in two different directions. You also felt it rush out somewhere like a dam that was broke. You finally also felt...some kind of barrier in your mind and...you felt something brush up against your mind. Whispering something to you but you could not quite decipher what it was.

What do?

Song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmtOxvPsFt0&ab_channel=HDSounDI is most fitting.
*Vision*
You were being dragged somewhere...in a light filled hallway. Too bright you couldn't see anything but you felt your arms being lifted on each side and feet dragging the ground. What was strange was you couldn't move your body. Not one bit...it wasn't like you were drugged.

but then you realized what it was...it felt like your mind was chained. Lashed so deeply and thrown in such a deep hole that it could not control your own body.

Suddenly the space opened as you entered a room and you could hear the gentle whirring of machinery. As you were dragged before an operating table. Suddenly you felt a hand grab your hair and forced your head up as a face stared down at you that was wearing an operating mask. One eye was black stared into your soul and the other...was a bright crystal that shed a light as it peered into your very mind.

"Hm...so this is the next one...well put him on the table already I need to begin."

With that command you felt yourself placed upon the operating table and strapped in. You also felt something was forced into your mouth between your teeth before it too was strapped it. Then you saw the device...gleaming above you as it slowly made its way to your head.

"Now let us...begin."

"HM HM HM."

"...No we kept our side of the bargain and now its time for you to keep up yours."

"HM HM HM HM MHM MM."

"...hm interesting, peering into people's minds, and then wiping it all clean. The things we learn...memories are everything. the mind is everything."

"People think its the soul that matters...or the body. People are shallow and foolish. Ever seen what a brain injury does to someone?"

"In truth what we are doing isn't all that bad. If we were real monsters people claimed us to be...we would harm the brain. We do not...we just cleanse it."

"Tears? Tears I see?"

"Oh yes...you do see your memories flashing by don't you? Best enjoy it while it lasts...and no this doesn't mean your dying. You are just remembering them for the very last time."

"You know what is interesting? The people who come to us...who want the deal. Desperate they are...but usually not for themselves. People are selfish you see...so how could they want a wish granted that they could not remember?"

"...So its usually the good ones who come to us. Rarely the bad...and then there are the rare cases such as yourself."

"Mhm?"

"...You were a good guy weren't you? The best brother...but what will happen when you awaken the next time hm? Where will that person be? No more...and the wish you asked for was a selfish one. About time if you ask me. Yeah I also see everything just as those memories of your flash by for the very last time...I see them too."

"..."

"Dead. Dead in the truest sense of the word...but the body wont be. Do you feel regret? How about I tell you something interesting. Not like it will matter much...well at least the first bit wont."

"Your little sister...the one who supposedly went MAD? The one who ran away? Who heard the voices that weren't there?"

"She wasn't crazy."

"They really were there you see."

"So all those things that people said...first they worried she was a psion you see. People really don't like psions...don't like to know that someone sees what they really think. That can dig into their memories...twist them around and such."

"Then they realized she wasn't...first they were relieved but then thought...what if she heard the voices of THEM? Those that are beyond...those that should not be listened to?"

"Witch. They said...monster girl. Demon...and so on so forth. She must be insane...at least that is what you told yourself didn't you?"

"After all it would explain everything...and wasn't nearly as bad as their other claims."

"No one believed her...nobody. Not even you did..."

"And you know what the real kicker of that entire thing was?"

"You heard the voices too...but you unlike her you blocked them out."

"Thing is though she knew that too you know. Its why she had that betrayed look in her eye...as her precious big brother whom she could rely on...betrayed her."

"You never could forget that look right? See I am doing you a favor...wiping away your greatest regret just like that."

"They told you all that she ran away right?"

"That was a lie...one you all refused to see."

"She didn't run...she was exiled."

"A little girl...thrown out. Betrayed. Nobody believing her...out there in the big bad world."

"...Nobody to watch out for her."

"And all alone."

"...real surprise that she is dead yeah? Or so you hoped...given what would of happen otherwise no?"

"You tried to find her didn't you?"

"...Of course you did after all you were a 'good big brother' everybody said that and believed it."

"Except for you...because you knew the truth didn't you? Deep down inside...you knew you weren't."

"You knew it was a lie..."

"One you were very good playing."

"Quite the regret there...but its not the only one."

"Don't feel bad you weren't the only one who did something like that not that you would believe me..heh."

"There was your family you started..."

Hearing them brought up you started to struggle against your bonds.

"Hm sore spot is it? Quite the sweet story...old childhood love that matured and only grew with age didn't it. Quite a nice story...too bad it didn't last."

"...You were gone when they came weren't you?"

"Your home village...no more. You lost you last living friend that day too didn't you?"

"Lost a lot of friends over the years didn't you? He was a good friend. He died trying to protect them in your place. Fought to the bitter end too he did...probably because he knew what was awaiting them if he didn't."

"He wasn't as lucky as you in regards to your family...he had to watch. That is why he started drinking so hard...but he never did kill himself like people thought he would. That is because...he knew they would be back."
>>

"So he waited...and waited. Sure enough one day they did indeed come back. Unfortunately things didn't quite work out according to plan...otherwise you wouldn't have had to see what remained of that gristly sight now would you?"

"He tried you know...he really did try. Too bad it just wasn't enough..."

"You ever wondered why you saw your children shot like that?"

"It wasn't the bandits like you thought you see...it was actually your friend. He knew what would happen...bandits aren't fond of killing kids you see...at least not right away anyway. Not as much profit or fun in that."

"He learned that the hard way...unfortunately he didn't make it your beautiful wife in time. At least she used to be beautiful. Kinda hard to tell given what ended up happening no?"

"In his defense he was trying to make it to your other kids first. Didn't exactly end up working out...real bummer that."

"Good thing you wont be able to remember all of this..."

"Now for something that MIGHT in fact mean something later. Digging around there I saw some psionic potential of yours...much of the barriers around it are getting removed by yours truly."

"No you wont be able to get your memories back...except for this one here. This you MIGHT be able to remember if you ever awaken your psionic potential. So trust me when I say this...I am really doing you quite the favor."

"Your a new person...just in an old body. Take that fresh start and don't come back. The memories...they aren't really something you want back. Unless you want to reconnect with old family and friends right? Find out who you REALLY are?"

"Is it worth the price however? I don't get to say this to most of the patients who come through here. Psions aren't exactly common you see and fewer still who would have us wipe them instead of doing it themselves. Not often it comes up."

"You don't have to rely upon the old you to be a person...you can become someone new. Someone different."

"A fresh start...a new start. Not many people get that and lot of people wished that was so."

"If you come hunting for your memories...well lets just say we wont be playing nice next time."

"...Those big regrets of yours? Family? Friends? Your Life?"

"You will got a new start so long as your let yourself. Otherwise...you'll just be chasing a shadow of an old life that is long dead."

"...What you want a chance to right those wrongs? Hah who doesn't and what would it matter to the new you?"

"...good point if you recall this conversation...fine. Obviously it was bandits were who behind your village getting wiped out however it was those same villagers who threw your sister out...so if you choose to get revenge."

"Just know one thing you try getting revenge you just might hurt some family of yours."

"...Yeah that's right your little sister who got thrown didn't die after all. Bandits took her in..."

"You ever thought about WHY the bandits were able to find your hidden little village?"

"...She led them to it."

"...how do I know?"

"Well guess this is goodbye then. Just about finished...truthfully I wish I could dig this one last memory out, but i'll be honest its a huge pain digging memories out of a psion's head. With those blockers removed its already somewhat taking action...alas I will have to accept this fact."

"Good luck in your new life...hopefully you'll be smart enough to not waste it on your old one."

"hm...your kids?"

"Most of them are dead...and those who weren't most fell into your younger sister's hands obviously."

"Yes that does mean a couple did actually escape successfully."

"Thank You? Well not like that is the first time I heard that. Don't worry I'll keep my end of the bargain just fine."

...none of that is correct anon. I will admit the first two are the hardest to figure out but I have hinted about the other three before quite a bit(seriously though I regularly referenced the last three repeatedly).

It mostly has to do with the different schools of thought that exists among psions. Think of it kinda like magical studies or the force from star wars.
>>
Rolled 65 (1d100)

>>806969
Of all five options only 1 of them takes a neutral stance.

The other two i have referenced before...well there are the most hints about what they can do exactly.

The first two...I haven't really had much a chance to show them off, but they are very important to psions and are major ways of thinking among their kind. Psions has they advanced always find themselves being tugged in different directions and its extremely rare for one to stay balanced even more so neutral.
>>
Rolled 89 (1d100)

>>806983
>>806969
...okay so that isn't technically correct with me not showing the first to. I just remembered some player heroes who actually DID follow some of those schools of thought.

So...guess I actually did get around to showing it a bit.

...technically this is true for just about every psionic hero units yes even the MAD ones. The psion schools of thought are extremely important to the psions even if it is often a reason to kill/hate each other.

Some ways of thought aren't exactly compatible with each other.

Well I do believe that covers everything I can say about the 5 choices.

You decide to follow out the energy that was flowing through the broken dam. After following it you soon realized a funny thing it was coming from your mind...and it was leaving your body. Psionic energy was crackling and leaking out around you. You could see that from afar you look like a human sized glowing psionic beacon.

The power however kept on leaking out of you and you decided to stop it. So you fought the wave and tried to reverse its flow. To send its power back into you instead of out into the world. As you did so you could slowly hear the whispers vanish. The wall in your mind began to blur back into the background. While the pulls slowly weakened and the hole was once more sealed up.

Psi Increase Acquired.

Psi Power 7/10. Three more until next rank up.
Till next increase 9/10.

As you...slowly and sort of awoke you found something interesting. The zombies have since...wandered away. From afar though...you could feel as if you were being watched. Like the hairs on the back of your neck was raised, your gut instinct, or that sixth sense...but somehow stronger.

Like you could...FEEL something out there. When you looked in that direction while you were not able to get a very good look at them you felt several different presences.

Some that reeked of hunger.
Some that full of curiosity.
Some that was insane.
Some that felt alien.
Some that stank of stillness.
Some that oddly strangeness.

You could feel them out there...as they sensed you so too were you able to sense them for a time. Albeit not very well...but now you have an idea of what they sort of feel like even as they started to fade away as you did when you sealed up the dam.

I'll support it. These don't seem like particularly psionically strong zombies so it should be safe to practice on them.

I wonder if the Big Bandit Book has anything to say about fighting zombies with psionics. They have weak but primitive minds, I can see if going either way them being easy to crush/dominate on account of lack of defenses or incredibly difficult to on account of strength of intrinsic biological drives.

We should definitely see if we can create any physical manifestations of our powers though. Force waves, added strength in our limbs, teleportation, what have you. Control should be paramount.

>>807104
What's that Psi Power and Til Next Increase mean?
>>
Rolled 83 (1d100)

Zombies and Psionics.

Zombies are actually a very tricky opponent for a psion because their mindlessness would make it seem they would be easy to fuck with. Until you actually tried to poke inside their empty head then their overwhelming mindlessly driven HUNGER is going to kick your ass. Basically zombies LOOK easy for a psionics but in truth its the exact opposite.

They are an opponent who looks easy but is in truth quite hard.

The extremely rare smart zombie further exacerbates this problem and make it much worse due to their ability to direct other zombies. Smart zombies are believed to arise when a psion is infected or mutation. Smart Zombies are also an insanely difficult opponent for a psion to face because they have learned to control the HUNGER and can even channel it. Zombie HUNGER has it turns out is very powerful psionic presence that if you can channel it allows you to tap into its immense power.

Hence why smart zombies are so fucking scary because they either 1 have the potential to do it or 2 can already do so.

Smart Zombies are however the rarest possible zombie mutation but in super zombie hordes you can safely bet there are a few lurking around inside. So if your a psion who is facing zombies your best off with physical attacks over mental, but watch out for a smart zombie. They know their best bet to create another one of their kind is to infect a psion and they know how to control zombies possibly even their HUNGER.

A smart Zombie is the worse possible enemy a psion could face among zombie kind.

For using manifested powers to fight zombies its pretty typical stuff similar to the other tactics. Go for the head or legs if there are too many of them so as to buy time. Shooting zombies in the legs is actually pretty effective because it not only causes that zombie to fall it can also make other zombies trip over them.

How much psi power you have and when it will increase again.
>>
>>807295
So we're at 7/10 presently, and it'll increase at 9/10.

What's that mean in terms of benchmarks, though? What's an average person's psionic strength? A hero? A mutant?
>>
Rolled 100 (1d100)

>>807314
Your psi strength is 7/10 it will increase to 8/10 when the 9/10 increases to 10/10 then it resets. To attain a next psi rank up the 8/10 will need to increase to a 10/10 then you get another rank up greatly enhancing your psi power.

The average person's psi strength is 0. Their psi potential is 5. A mutant is the same unless they possess the right potential.

The same is true unless its psi hero. Heroes are often rated Super class but not always. They are however certain to have the potential to assuming they got the right prerequisites.

Not all zombies are attracted to psi...Problem is the smart zombies are and they order around the other zombies. Hence the illusion of all zombies liking psi.

Integrating psi and magic is a tricky subject only known to the rare Psi Magi. Or so the book claims from what you found anyway. So you studied up on a few spells. The book contains a lot of basic even some advanced basics and talks about things like formations. Summoning and more.

It does appear to be heavily leaning one way or another it just has info on it all. Bad news is you wont be able to get access to specialized spells and the like. Interesting fact about training. The worse rolls are the average ones because even bad rolls result in a bad training session that you can still learn a lot from(its just notably much more unpleasant).

Figured i would put that out there again.

Anyway you decide to start practicing your psi and magic. Considering its your first time on both accounts...the results were rather meh. While you were able to send your mind somehow outside your body and look into other minds. You haven't been able to figure out how to tinker with said minds or manifest your powers physically yet.

Magic wise you actually succeeded with physical manifestation both in terms of a small bit of fire and water. You weren't able to pull anything else off however but you FINALLY cast your first spell!

You started to hear a lot of gunfire nearby and...flamers. Bots wielding flamers emerged from the defense installations on the edge of the facility and they are slowing making their way through in a very ordered fashion.

"What the hell is going on out there...sounds like there is a large battle going on. That should be impossible I got no word of an attack."

"Sorry Mayor but...we got some madman or assassin who apparently is heading this way."

"A single assassin...don't tell me its a hero?"

"...Honestly we don't know but none of our guys have been able to stop him and he is heading right for this place."

"Well WHY HAVEN'T YOU CONTACTED OUR GODDAMN HERO."

"i uh righ awa-"

"TOO LATE~" says the assassin as he breaks through a window and snipes two bodyguards.

"You...WHAT DO YOU WANT?"

"Well your life obviously Mr Mayor...funny thing a certain councilman told me about some very interesting policies of yours..."

"You can't be serious? DO YOU REALIZE THIS IS WAR?"

"When is it NOT," says Andy before putting a bullet through his brain. "I will be honest...I was REALLY looking forward to picking a fight with those power armored elites...but damn was that disappointing as all hell," whines the assassin android as he picks is way through a devastated city hall. Bodies...everywhere. Signs of battle covering the entire place. Blood still dripping and bullet casings still smoking. Bodies haven't even cooled yet.

However at the outside of the city all meanwhile people were running back and forth. Orders were being shouted as a blockade was quickly put into place. Heavy weapons were installed and troops moved into formation.

"SURRENDER NOW OR PREPARE TO BE KILLED," shouts a Commander on a loudspeaker.

"...Tsk tsk do you really think all those toys can possibly stop me," asks Andy the Assassin as he strides out without worry and looks around quite disappointing. "I never thought those upgrades would be able to make this all so disappointingly easy...even if they are glitchy."

"I do believe i can fix that," says someone as he strides out past the barricade with a still smoking cigar resting in his mouth.

"Oh...you are?"

"I am the hero in this parts...Mister Assassin Android."

"Oh...what gave it away," asks Andy as he take off the helmet showing a disturbingly blank glistening plate.

"I am a Jury Rigging Extraordinaire. If I couldn't identify a piece of tech jury rigged together how could i be ME?"

"You are exactly?"

"The hero in these parts."

"Honestly because I actually fix that glitchy upgrade problem of yours and make it so it would all seamless! As if you WEREN'T jury rigged together...poorly. Plus I couldn't care less for most of those pricks you killed. Truth be told you did us a favor...and I could forgive you for the rest."

"I see," Says Andy the now Angry Assassin Android. "So you think...someone like you could compare with a Smith of War?"

"Smith of War? Is that some kind of codename for some of your robotic buddies? OR is it that Arms Dealer who had that problem awhile back? I know you must belong to one of them."

"If you weren't just a shitty engineer...I would be worried about this fight. Sadly you aren't and there is no way you can stop me."

"You sure about that? Why don't you tell me who sent you before I dig it out of that head of yours? I already know your capabilities."

"...No you don't." with that Andy vanished. Appearing beyond the line and walking away. That was when the explosions started and people started sliding into many little pieces.

"AAHH THE TURRETS HAVE GONE ROGUE!"

"WHY ARE THE FUCKING AMMO STOCKPILES GOING OFF SHIT-"

"WHO SABOTAGED OUR GEAR GODDAMN IT-"

Screamed the few survivors as Andy held up a peculiar device into the air and waved at the collapsed Hero. "Thanks for the nice tech you got good tastes!"

"What the FUCK happened," roared the hero at a surviving officer.

"...Our gear was sabotaged Sir...we had no idea it all appeared to be fine and working while we were setting up."

"GODDAMN IT WE GOT FUCKED BY A SINGLE SHITTY ANDROID. WE WONT EVEN HAVE A FUCKING EXCUSE BECAUSE IT WASN'T EVEN A GODDAMN SUPER VERSION! SHIT."

Some distance away a certain 'single shitty android' was throwing some stuff in back of his ride as he started it up. "Well time to do some scouting...and then its back home, oh right you guys back there SHUT UP or I'll drop you off first! Trust me wanna delay what happens to you then as much as possible. I'll just kill you, but that person? You wish."

With that he drove off chasing some leads.

Damn that is a great roll.

Good thing too considering it was zombies and fire. You wouldn't have found shit otherwise.

You decide to move through the battlefield and see what you can find for loot. Unexpectedly there was some good things on the burnt zombie bodies. You even found some bots who had gotten overwhelmed.

Gained the following
Top Quality Scraps. Worth a lot anywhere and everywhere.
Fireproof Clothing.
Fireproof Armors.
Assorted Survival gear fireproofed.
Fireproofed Bandit Armor.
Fireproofed Survivor Armor.
1 suite of paramilitary body armor. Compromised.
5 stashed but damaged Pistols.
20 Knives.
5 Mono Knives.
10 Combat Knives.
5 hatchets.
5 hammers.

From the bots you looted
Top Quality Metal. Few.
Top Quality Scraps. Few.
High Quality Metal. Moderate.
High Quality Scraps. Moderate.
Undamaged Bot Parts Military. Few
Undamaged Bot Parts Civilian. Plentiful.
Undamaged Bot Parts Corporate. Moderate.
Fully Charged Batteries. Plentiful.
Hard Fuel Cores. Few.
Charged Power Cells. Moderate.
Sekron SDSC 5.2 Rifle 18.
Inferno Flamethrower 9.
Inferno Grenades 20.
Ammo Pack 18.
Concentrated Refined Flamer Fuels 27.

6 Flamed Bot Hulls Intact.
3 Security Bot Hulls Intact.
9 Flamed Bot Hulls Lightly Damaged.
6 Security Bot Hulls Lightly Damaged.
2 Military Bot Hull Moderately Damaged.
1 Military Bot Hull Lightly Damaged.
12 Security Bot Hulls Moderately Damaged.
18 Flamed Bot Hulls Moderately Damaged.

Sadly far more then you can carry but you stashed it away somewhere. From afar you have seen the Shrouded One passing by. He appears to be heading toward a nearby Security System installation and is under heavy escort.

Yes looting bots is profitable as all hell. They're full of electronics, solid metals, plastics, energy sources, and sometimes even weapons!

If your good you can also loot software from them and tech from one of them.

...which reminds me i forgot you rolled high enough to get the goodies.

So add this to the list.

3 Intact Security Bot Brains.
6 Intact Flamed Bot Brains.
1 Intact Military Bot brain.

2 Damaged Military Bot Brains.
6 Damaged Security Bot Brains.
12 Damaged Flamed Bot Brains.

1 military bot tech.
4 Security Bot tech.
8 Flamed Bot tech.

The problem with looting bots is they got tech, are tough, robotic qualities, and most importantly they are fucking heavy.

Another problem with looting bot tech is...its really not that popular. So most of the bot itself is rather worthless to scavengers. So besides picking the lighter and easier to tell bits most of it is left to rust.

including many bot only weapons(the ammo is typically missing depending on how easy it is to access). The rifles you looted are an example. They were firmly attached to the bots and connected to their ammo pack. They are a common droid rifle.

Now if you actually had a use for bot tech they very valuable indeed.

"YOOOOOOHEY HEY YOOHOO I'M A FUCKING PSION NOW WOOO. SO MUCH IS MY RAISE?"

That actually caused the Shrouded One to stumble even as the escorting bots raised their weapons before getting a change in orders they lowered them again. After that a few of them peeled off to 'retrieve' you and you got brought along.

"Psion now is it hm," says the Shrouded One while working on the internals of one security system and messing with the screen of another typing in things. "Psions...quite rare. For some reason the zombies really have it out for them...guess its because of the brains hm? Hahahah...no really they do."

"Just so happens I have a special job for one like you...especially with Andy gone. There is a special trade deal coming out and i need to know what the two people there are thinking. Yes they are completely evil bastards but they pay very well."

"Trouble is I don't know which is better and I don't got the goods to supply both."

"What will I be getting paid in?"

"Psi Salts. Eat them and they'll boost your powers. I also have a...small selection of psion equipment."

"You got anything else?"

"How common do you think you are? I have specialty goods which is why I have stuff for psions. Otherwise you would be out of luck."

"...You got anything for magic?"

"As a matter of fact I do. Mostly old world relics but I do have other things."

"How come I never seen any of it?"

"Unless I get a special order they stay where I can keep them truly safe. Its quite rare I get an order like that. Not worth having it with me until then."

"Anything else?"

"...How much are you paying for uh...stuff and bot parts?"

"Bot? I pay premium for anything bot related. Everything else...hm well I trade in bullets, guns, armor, and hardware."

"no supplies?"

"Outside bullets and some hardware no. I may be a merchant of death but at least I have the good decency of making it quick."

"You know any psions who could...help me out?"

"Besides crazy bandit fucks...no wait I might actually know some sane ones. Other than that the only one I know is...well lets just say we don't get along, but she certainly does her organics. Psions included. Besides those two sources...hm it gets iffy. I do know a few though otherwise i never would of bothered collecting psi gear for that rare purchasing customer."

"So basically the meat to your metal?"

"Exactly."

"Guard 222-1AQ5 escort him to the armory."

"Roger," with that you were taken to a small blank shop with a large screen and a robot behind it.

"Please use the catalog and tell me what you would like to buy," says the sell bot. "If you are need of ammunition our automated vendor is right over there. If you need of maintenance please hand it over now. I promise you it will be taken to(Near)fresh off the line condition!"

Looking to the side what you thought was a place to buy drinks was in fact selling ammo....it looked a little worn out and ramshackle but still operational.

"I would like my weapons back and some new armor."

CHOOSE
Voltatek Light Armor: Actually a Bandit design known for its lightness and speed. Defense is not to be underestimated as most of it is provided by stabilized shield plate network. Offers bonuses to energy weapons only drawback is the high power consumption.
Cogboy Heavy Armor: Designed by the Boss for...unknown reasons. As a full toolkit, cybernetic compatibility, and offers bonuses to tech rolls. Also enables you to disguise yourself as a bot, bandit, or survivor.
Refurbished Military Medium Armor: All electronic and support systems have been brought back online and compromises have been patched. Its (nearly) as good as new. Can easily pretend to be paramilitary or a bandit with the right modifications.
Inferno Armor: Wildly popular among pyros everywhere Inferno armor offers fire immunity, flame shielding, and bonus to fire weaponry. Even offers protection against the cold. Unlike its power armored cousin it is not vulnerable to shock.
EXP Hazard Armor: Experimental hazard armor designed to protect you against anything and everything. Material of the armor is unique in that it will actively adapt itself to threats. Alas it can only keep track of so many threats and it is not power armor.

Power Armor Sets(limited)
Refurbished Paramilitary Power Armor: So well used its impossible tell what side it used to belong. Has been repaired back together by a real pro and is nearly as good as new.
Bandit Rigged Powah Armor: ramshackle homemade jury rigged Power armor put together by bandits. Unlike its survivor counterpart the armor has been well tested in lots of action. Comes in Heavy and Light only. Can disguise as a bandit OR Survivor.
W0RMRA63 Power Armor: Based of Rampant AI designs as well as corrupted robotic and modified for living purposes. Devastatingly powerful builtin reactor, heavily armed/armored, and special electronic warfare rig is installed into the armor. Its only flaw is both how slow it is and its still experimental.
Arms Dealer Disguised Power Armor: Used by the Shrouded One and is in fact a homemade power armor. Conceals massive amounts of weaponry, armor, and ammo dumps. Appears to be ordinary shrouded heavy armor but its not. Is now registered as OUTDATED and available for sale.

Really tempted to trade for the boss's old armor.
We can give up our gatling laser, that thing sounds like a pain to lug around
There's also all the robot parts and such we found, technically they were already the Shrouded One's though. Unless there's some sort of near-universal salvage law/custom that means they won't be pissed if we try to sell parts salvaged from his own bots.

I'm sure we can also give some of our explosives and ammo.

However we do need these things for anything else we want to buy, so I'm not sure how much is appropriate.
If it can accommodate an advanced AI we pretty much have to get it though. (Assuming Amy is willing to keep working with us personally)

If no one else wants to spring for power armor however, I tentatively vote for Cogboy Heavy Armor.

After choosing your new armor you were taken to an airfield where you boarded a vertical lift aircraft that did not have a pilot and had an assorted group of military bots waiting for you. After getting on board and waiting a little while the Shrouded One also came by and boarded.

"You will meet them first and depending on what you tell me I will negotiate the rest. They are in bad need of armaments so we aren't the only arms dealers making their pitches."

After getting there you met a slimy businessman and racial supremacist. Who preached traditionalism, isolationism, waging wars, and 'free' capitalism.

on the other you met a mutant corrupt female feminist dictator obsessed with making everyone fit into the system yet claiming to champion diversity. Ironically the Bots hate the woman with a passion.

You hate both them.

A lot.

Unsurprisingly they are about to start a war with each other. The business in particular plans to build fortifications, wage wars, and exterminate all those who aren't 'his people' within his borders. The guy seems like a moron but people really do like him for some reason. Unlike the other however he isn't quite as insanely corrupt even if he is a jackass who wants wars.

Bitch dictator meanwhile intends to purge her system of all those who oppose her and the corrupted system in place that she champions. After that she has a beef with those with penises and whoever opposes the collectivist system of 'diversity'. Apparently she got embarrassed and cheated on by her husband or something which may explain the hatred for men.

In truth in terms of violence one seems more focused towards internal and the other is more external usage of the goods you intend to sell.

Whom do you choose?

As a matter of grim pragmatism, we're not part of the Bitch Dictator's system, and that's who she's going to commit violence against. Meanwhile, Businessman Slim wants to start wars at large that may destabilize the region at large, resulting overall weakening of the region and increased bandit activity we and our employer would have to deal with while travelling.

However, I've never been one who likes to see things stay still and stagnate. Bring on the big shake-up and let that slimy businessman have at it. Everyone else will have to adapt and grow stronger or die.

I'll vote for bitch dictator for the joke of non-mutants being forced to check their "cis-genetic" privilege. Also because if this comes up again later we might meet her husband.

Although if she's more concerned with internal oppression of her own empire, that may make it less likely it will become an issue we have to face later compared to a warmonger. This could be good or bad depending on if you want to deal with the fallout (radioactive and otherwise).

Trade Deal arranged and went EXTREMELY well. Turns out there was some particular useful tid bits of information were you able to dig out and pass onto your employer which turned out to be worth a bloody fortune when it came time for negotiating.

Your employer is extremely pleased and gave you a bonus. A piece of psi/magic fusion in the form of a...dagger.

There appeared to be a mix up with the power armor you received...mostly because it had far more then what was listed.

>Gained Series 2 Arms Dealer Disguised Power Armor
aka the updated current model. Not only is its old systems been further upgraded it includes a modified power reactor, electronic warfare rig, shield system generators(yes there is more the 1), AI port, toolkit, Blink Teleportation Device, and speed upgrades including a jetpack.

Strangely enough it appears to be just like the first even including its dual transformations.

Yes it can transform. Oddly enough the armor in its heavy form is actually its stealthiest with lower and its second form stronger but faster. In exchange for stealth and armoring.

The shield generating systems is apparently to help compensate for the loss in defenses of the second transformation with additional force shielding. Your not entirely sure how much of this is an improvement over the first because you never seen the first series in action.

You also traded away the bot stuff and metals keeping the choicy scraps. For what you traded for you didn't say. So its going to become store credit.

Training wise...well as it turned out both books had a little bit on psi magic fusion. With oddly enough the bandit book being more helpful. According to it certain...crazy bandits aka the MADs somehow had a system of fusion. To the point where it became very hard to realize that a bandit was in fact using magic or psi much less both.

That system of madness...inspired you. As you realized the only way the MADs could of figured it out was they knew something nobody else did. What that is...had to be of some kind of mutual property or overlap. Besides just some special info.

Realizing there WAS some kind of overlapping you experimented and successfully found a blend that tapped into both.

Discovered Psi Magi Technique Elemental Fusion. When using an element power is doubled in exchange for using both psi and magic.
Discovered Psi Magi Technique Mental Treachery. When using effects that target the mind effectiveness is increased in exchange for using both psi and magic.

That was when you did something very stupid once you landed you pointed a certain fact to the Shrouded One.

"You know...we never actually agreed to any contract. So technically everything you did was out of the good of your heart, due to us not actually being under any contract! So technically we are not under any obligation to help each other."

"...Is that so," says the Shrouded One as the bots raise their weapons. "Apparently...you are under an mistaken impression."

"For you see...you assumed that I am some kind hearted Arms Dealer. That I...missed something like that. That I am some kind of push over, you are very wrong," continues the Shrouded One as the bots Press their weapons forward...this time they did not receive orders to stand down. The Shrouded One suddenly blinked away and continued talking. "Such a shame...here I thought I could grow to like someone who isn't made of metal. Your lucky you did me quite a good solid with that trade deal. So...I will forgive this transgression...once. First however have you ever wondered WHY I could do business with bandits?"

Massive Relation Decrease with the Shrouded One.

You were taken into a building in a small theatre where a hologram started to play.

"Watch...Watch and see why. You see Andy is the one who loves killing things...myself I love to see the agony. Even more to inflict said agony...that hologram shows my meeting with the bandits. You see they robbed me unfortunately for them I tracked them back to their place. That fire in the distance is their home on fire. Those bandits getting taken is to a certain black market where bandits do business."

"That is where I killed the survivors who had surrendered...very very slowly and painfully as possible. I made them feel such great and terrible pain I had other bandits retching. I even had some step up to put them out of their misery!"

"...If they were lucky my guards killed them otherwise I did the same thing to them. Now this is...quite the long video. So enjoy...and let it all sink in."

"I became a arms dealer because I know hardware and the slow agonizing death of no food, water, or good medicine. Honestly isn't my kind thing. I much prefer to be...more hands on. I am also smart enough to not go around torturing willy nilly like those idiotic bandits. As much as I may enjoy it...I need a reason."

"Otherwise the truth is it feels empty. Hallow. Not nearly as satisfying. So on the rare occasion i get my kicks is much rarer then I would like. Hence the recordings...I like to watch my work. Critique myself even."

"So you think Andy is the nasty one with his love of killing and hatred of living things. Truth is he is the nice one. He'll at least make it relatively quick and painless. Doing as he is made for...but me on the other hand."

"I chose to be bad...very bad, because i had a choice! Unlike poor...nice Andy. So bad even I rarely get raided by bandits. Truth is they tend to be a bunch of sadists. Sadists do not like feeling the pain themselves they like dishing it out. Makes turning it around on them extremely effective and for the masochists they just wish to be the one suffering."

"No matter how you look at it is really a win win! If you ask me no wonder bandit leadership tends to be so sadistic and flamboyant about it. It really helps maintain order...yet do you see me employ much meatbags?"

"..."

"No I don't. So I also don't have that reason. All I got is a bunch of machines."
>>
Rolled 53 (1d100)

>>808728
"So no matter how you like at it...I do it simply because I enjoy it. I got no other reason then that. Its why I only did the torture show that one time."

"Really did work quite well especially once I threatened trade bans. Rarely get hit by bandits because I am smart about it. I get to do all the business with them...and others."

"Because who is going to believe bandits?"

"I don't employ meaty people usually because tada they are bit unreliable and might spill the beans. Plus I don't really like people much anymore. Truthfully that is probably due to what my old home is like. Really turned me off to people for the most part. Your the first in a long time."

"So...if you think you should be worried now. Well certainly a good reason to be but the thing is...I am not stupid. I know how Andy does his thing and i know being an evil bitch to my own people is not very good for loyalty."

"But say they give me a good reason...well I would certainly enjoy myself."

"Good old carrot and stick really. I just happen to have one hell of a nasty stick. Been trying to work on the whole better carrot deal...but I will admit its not my forte like the stick is. Truth is that is what made my old friend the good doctor and me such an excellent team."

"We were both smart and sexy. One of us was the stick and the other was the carrot. Sure it seemed good on paper but after awhile problems came up. Shame it didn't work out Doc really did know how to be that sweet little evil thing that somehow weaponized kindness."

"Until I have things figured out I figured I will stick with my bots...but then you showed up when i was in quite the bind. You even had amnesia...seemed like a perfect start."

"Too perfect apparently...should i paid closer attention. Well i learned my lesson well...and if your wondering why you can't read my thoughts?"

"Its because I know how to protect myself...don't worry though I'll still give you a peek. Time for the good old stick after all."

Holy mother of...that those things...fuck. Gotta give the Shrouded One credit on the self control and acting though goddamn. You thought Andy might of been joking about the sadism part but nope...just one thin line between snapping and letting it out or remaining in control.

There was something else there...something twisted but somehow it seemed to be reigned in. Under control...a strange type of hunger. Vileness like a coat of slime or filthy oil covered the mind of the Shrouded One yet it was clear. Not murky...or dark. Like something that reveled in it and tightly controlled it under a fierce leash.

To be ready to be unleashed at a single command...

"Seems like you have a knack for the mind reading. You dug up quite a bit."

"...Are you a demon?"

"Someday possibly. Right now I do believe I am still quite human."

With that the Shrouded One left and you were forced to watch by the guarding bots. After it finally ended and you were free to go.

>>808813
The doctor who wiped our mind said our sister had captured our kids, remember? She's a bandit leader. So if we run into bandits who call their leader "Auntie," it may not be a Mad Max 3 reference...

Some kind of Megacorp connection? I think definitely.
>>
Rolled 96 (1d100)

>>808849
Doc only said she guided them to the only place and not whether or not she is a Bandit Boss. She is likely to be a rather nasty character though due to getting taken in so young and her gift. It was unlucky for the village that she lived to reach maturity under the bandits.
Thing is though they actually took precautions to prevent her from figuring out where they were. Problem was her 'gift' allowed her to bypass that problem. Hence the successful revenge many years later.

Bandits aren't about to listen a kid's story but a veteran bandit whose been around awhile is different. Your word is worth something by that time even if your not gifted or especially skilled.

Bandits have mad respect for those who been a bandit for awhile. Not an easy life so its hard to live that long in it.

"Amy is at the Hub."

"Where is that?"

"Just ask a bot and they'll direct you," informs a nearby Security Guard Bot. So you waited a little while before just so happening to run into a group of Security Bots on patrol that would take them near the Hub. So you tagged along.

The 'Hub' as it turned out was a blank building with tons of wires and rods covering it. It even had its own walls and separate guard houses. Bristling with turrets. Guess this must be one of the more valuable sites.

You realized why when you stepped inside. AI Cores...AI Cores everywhere. It contained an entire AI Core Cluster. Guess that explains why AMY ended up here. Now to figure out...which Core is Amy's.

"You...are Amy's uh...scavenger friend? Right," asks a robotic voice over comms.

"Yeah something like that...you know which one is Amy?"

"Actually she is in side room D."

"Okay thanks," after some looking around you found side room D and upon opening it you could smell a strange ozone. Inside there were strange devices and crackling wires connecting to only a few different AI Cores.

"Hey so uh...leaving already?"

"Yeah something like that. What you wanna stay?"

"I like it here."

"Do to a nice rig?"

"Yes!"

"Well this new armor of mine just so happens to have been upgraded with advanced AI support."

"Such as?"

"Combat, Trade, and...I think that is an electric warfare rig so-"

"Okay I am fine with leaving."

"Really?"

"Yeah now i wont get stuck being bored out of my mind. You don't wanna know the time of compiled programs i cooked up out of sheer boredom. Kept on deleting a lot of them too leaving nothing but this really nice stash of...uh work."

"Sounds like you been busy."

"I didn't expect to see a proper AI Cluster here of all places! Multiple Clusters even! Some of them are pretty big especially the Construction Cluster that thing is huge."

"Well lets go and train."

"Hm I got some interesting leads a certain scavenger like you would appreciate also...a bunch of different missions."

"Missions?"

"The Shrouded One gets tired of constantly giving orders and came up with a system of missions that can be selected. They are cycled through fairly regularly. Some of them are the standard stuff that always needs doing on a regular basis but there are a few unusual ones. Usually those are placed by the Shrouded One itself when not giving out the orders directly."

"...okay guess I might look at it after training...is there any training sites?"

"Closest thing is a the Test Run Site for experiments and glitch testing."

"So a robotic version of a training yard?"

"Pretty much. Except you can experiment with some really fun toys."

So you headed off towards the testing site to practice your shooting and special skills.

"The bots maintain a very high quality holo map of whatever areas that interest them. Its even updated fairly regularly by patrols who are sent out. For areas outside their operating they use Arial bots to take a look every once in awhile. Some of the flying bots are quite small and they create a network of active intelligence."

"What are the patrols up to?"

"Target Acquisitions and Trade. Sometimes they find a place that will interest them a patrol will be sent out to retrieve the items. Other times they got and make deliveries. As well as taking care of those automated vendors."

"Yeah I saw one of them it sold amm-wait there are ones outside this place?"

"There are. According to some of the files it was something they did years back and its to deal with small time trades."

"Small time...so even if they lose a vendor its not a big loss."

"Indeed problem is those vendors always have a patrol nearby so should hit one of them you can expect to get attacked by a full blown bot patrol. Not many willing to tackle something like that for a single puny box."

"Anything else?"

"The bots are picky about the targets they hit...so there is a TON of info of stuff that doesn't interest them."

"...As in food, water, and stuff like that right?"

"Exactly. All carefully mapped out and vetted. Unfortunately they rarely bother to check an area again if they decide its not worth the trouble. So the info of what there is old...but its still a perfect map in all other aspects."

"Sounds like that info is invaluable...why hasn't the Shrouded One do anything with it then?"

"Frankly its because of how dangerous those areas tend to be. The things there don't have much interest in machines...but some of flesh? That is trouble."

"So as usual the least picked areas are the ones deepest in the danger zone...shit."

"Afraid so. I have other maps of areas less dangerous but like you said the safer they are the more they have been picked over."

"Is there anything else?"

"Areas of interest that carry items the bots are interested...but they are having a hard time of accessing."

"Hm...let me guess rampant machines?"

"And worse. Mostly in the forms of settlements. People don't have much interest in a bot part warehouse but to the bots...its a very tempting target."

"So what could I get if I hit one of those places up?"

"Its only valuable if you sell it to the Shrouded One or find some other robotic outfit."

"Wow Amy you got some insanely good leads then overall."

"Some of the maps I have are current so the dangers and goods there are still likely there. Its just the older more unreliable maps may have problems."
>>
Rolled 50 (1d100)

>>809539
I think we should see if Shrouded One is willing to supply us with a vehicle, and then look into one of the bot part warehouses. Hey, if she's got something along the lines of what we've requested then we might be able to buy a vehicle with our store credit.

Also it occurs to me that if we get a Super APC rig like we wanted then we could probably also get a recon craft like we also wanted, and just keep it berthed in the APC most of the time. A sort of home-base/mobile rover set up.

Along that line, if we can't afford the Super APC for this run then we could still consider buying a tricked out recon vehicle and it wouldn't be a waste of money.

"I am convinced that one is from a megacorp remnant or at the very least as some powerful connections to one."

"Probable I don't know which one yet however."

"Yeah well...so where should we go first?"

"Isn't that up to you?"

"Well...I could use some medical stuff and the basics in general really. Shrouded One doesn't cover living expenses only combat related ones."

"In that case these are some nearby sites."

>Try to sneak past
We've got explosives, and we know of the meatstick. The good old lure'n'blowup.

Place the lures such that they'll attract both the monsters and zombies, but that the monsters will get there first. Be sure to use our survivor know-how to make it look natural. Rig the booby traps to go off after the monsters have dug into the meat a little bit.

The zombies will be attracted by the smell to start with, then the monsters will tuck in and start to like the meal, then it'll blow up in their faces (which'll probably mostly just piss them off, we're not aiming to kill). The explosion will fling the meat everywhere, delaying the monsters vamping, piss off the monsters, and draw the zombies to them more surely.

Just make sure that we're setting these traps on the OTHER SIDE from our entrance/escape route. Also hide our bandit radio somewhere over there to be set off at the end of it all if we need it.

>>
Rolled 95 (1d100)

>>809627
In sum

>Try to sneak past
>Good old lure'n'blowup
Coordinate with AMY to identify sites that would be ideal locations to plant food-lures booby trapped with explosives (either traditionally or remote-detonated). In general we want monsters to hit the lures first, rummage around for a while to get a taste for the shit, and then BOOM. The lures should also be placed such that zombies start to head towards them, they just take longer and will come en masse when things go boom. Our aim is more to make noise than to kill anything with the explosives, AMY can probably help with calculating the right amount and placing to achieve this.

AMY should also be utilized to plan out an insertion, escape, and back-up escape route using the map information she already had. These should be considered when lure locations are selected.

"AMY, you're such a dear. What sorts of things do you enjoy?"

In order to navigate to the lure-sites through the zombies (seeing as they'll either be on the other side of the facility, or we'll have to navigate to the other side after planting them on this side) use the FAZ trick described in the Big Book of Bandit.

You decide to sneak past by dropping some lures to draw them away from the route you were going to take. After successfully drawing out the zombies and monsters that was when you moved. There were after your trick very few monsters and zombies around. making it easy to bypass those who remained. After that you entered it...stores. Including a pharmacy.

All of which...hadn't been completely picked over just yet. You could see signs some others had come through but with the zombies and monsters moved in it kept everything else safe.

AMY, threat assessment on these bandits? Armor, weapons, veterancy? Do you detect any comms signals from/to them? If so can you get into or jam them using the electronic warfare equipment? Jamming is better for long-range comms, hacking is better if short range comms.

See if we can't skim any thoughts off the bandits' minds using Mental Treachery for now too.

Engage our power armor in stealthy armor mode for now. Also if we've got anything that could disguise us as bandits, do it now. Got the feeling these are veteran bandits though so I wouldn't expect any charade to last long at all.

>>810179
"Thankfully when I looted erhm borrowed the systems of our employer they kept a very extensive series of databases. At least by those post apoc standards which frankly are very low but I was quite surprised."

"Using the database...remote access...hm these are no ordinary bandits. Yes they look ordinary...but they are not. IF you would recall there was a bandit alliance yes? Well the ones who got said alliance started and went around courting the different bandit gangs...that is them."

"And their leader is among them. Better known as the diplomancer who makes the alliance tick. For some reason I cannot decipher is his presence right there with so few guards."

"Their leader is the very rare bandit diplomat they are rare for obvious reasons but they are most dangerous due to their ability to form unholy alliances and extract regular payment without requiring active raids."

"As for the rest of them...I detect several outlaws, a Tekker, A Dok, and some usual bandit scum. Beware the outlaws they appear to be of paramilitary origin. They are most lethal in ranged combat."

"Any Comms Amy?"

"Affirmative bandit radio playing music...but there is a hidden encrypted comms set on them. I cannot crack the encrypted as it uses crazy chant. I might however be able to block it."

Mental Treachery used and you skim through some of their surface thoughts. Not wanting to go too deeply into their heads for obvious reasons. The bandits apparently are here on a trade mission...and something else, but you cannot find out that something else was.

When you moved onto their leader the bandit diplomat...you felt something off about him you couldn't read him and worse still he started looking towards the direction where you are at.

That was when you felt a thought emerge from him.

"Well well...I wasn't expecting to run into a psion here. I do hope we can get along and reach a mutual understanding. I would hate to have some of my men killed and stuck handing you over to some Crazies. You wouldn't like that."

Shit he knows your around here somewhere.

So you did the smart thing and entered your armor into stealth mode and grabbed a hold of that tek bandit help, your coat, and boots. Problem is your power armor is too bulky to wear it with them. So do you shed your power armor in exchange for a better disguise or not?

The bandits are now on alert and are heading in your general direction.

AMY, how long do you think you could conceal our signal source with them having that Tek and these guys probably all being pretty damn tough?

Also identify some good spots right here to plant explosives.

Here's the plan:

Explosives planted around this area we're at right now that they're headed towards. Emphasis on concussive force, and include EMP and gas. The gas is particularly important.

Next dump some of the medical supplies inside a nearby car or something. Do it with a fair degree of survivor-stashing precision but don't try to make it absolutely undetectable. As if we were in a rush (which we will be). It's important that we select this location such that the bandits, when/if they notice the disturbed stash-point will either pause in anticipation of a booby trap, or head towards it. We want either one to work with our explosives. Again, it's most important that the gas goes off properly.

While performing these preparations have AMY contact the Security AI again to call for backup. Be wary of the Tek tracking our signal.

Next ping the Bandit Boss with another psi-message, doing our best to conceal our location while doing so and tell him something to the effect of "Look man, I don't want no trouble. I was just out salvaging. I can peel off my way and you yours, no one has to get killed or handed over to crazies."

Then after we've finished that vamp out to a good hiding place. AMY can probably identify one off the maps she has. Wait and see if they decide to fuck off or come on, and if backups coming or not.

If backup does come and is expedited, inform them that we'll mark the enemy with 'smoke' whenever they're close enough.

Rolled 4 (1d100)

I just hope the speed boosts in the armor and AMY's assistance are enough to accomplish all of this before they get to us.

If not then it's most important that we get the explosives set. If they find us stashing medical supplies before we run then that's not super suspicious, ya dig?

Rolled 5 (1d100)

>Call again and let them know what AMY and us found out.
If this bandit diplomat wasn't a hero I would be amazed.

>Parlay with them their boss is willing to talk apparently
We can't disguise when facing vets. They will know we don't have mannerisms like bandits.

So how about we just talk and move from there. We can find things as a survivor that bandits can't.
>>

I'm pretty sure he's been mentioned to be a hero.

That's a good point, they may want to know we encountered the bandit diplomat.

I believe the main gang, or one of them (the Nubmbskulls, who we visited) was stated to not even have a hero.
>>
Rolled 38 (1d100)

>>810372
Not if they don't see us running, because we've hid. We can easily contact them for a little bit with AMY running interference on the comms to keep their tek from tracking us.

You weren't planning on waiting them to come here and then talking to them face to face were you? Because that's a horrible, horrible idea. We need to do everything we can to get shittons of backup and disengage YESTERDAY.

Further, they're obviously waiting out here for something. Something important too, and probably friendly or touchy judging by their sparse guard. Anything a Bandit Diplomancer hero wants to make a deal with is something I want to get the fuck away from, NOW.

Rolled 22 (1d100)

I've got to go to sleep, but I'd just like to emphasize that this is a hero unit we're dealing with. By default that's beyond what we can handle. Add to that the Tekker (an officer and special unit), the Dok (an officer and special unit), and the paramilitary outlaws (elites, I'm sure) and we've got a whole mess of fuck-you that we don't really have any leverage to bargain with either.

They'll never believe we work for the Shrouded One, the Shrouded One never uses anything but bots.

Bandit gangs are too small time to have heroes. Hell a lot of the time they don't even have a decent HQ.

The Dok and Tek are specialty bandit units. They are not considered officers unless they have the right upgrade for it.

They only have a couple paramilitary outlaws with them(who are indeed elite by bandit standards).

Explosives planted.

"I am afraid we do not have forces available to route to your location and you do not qualify to command any of our forces."

Bandits are still heading towards your direction but you sent out a message after that they bandits halted when their diplomat raised his hand. "Survivor psion hm? Fine. I have no reason to quarrel with a psi-wait a second."

That was when he and another bandit started to look around...but not where you are at. That was when the bandits suddenly turned tail and started to run like hell.

Fortunately you heard what they were thinking.

"Wait a second...these zombies...oh no. Psion is nearby...FUCK SMART ZOMBIE. RUN! GODDAMN IT I DIDN'T BRING ALONG A CRAZY WAS PRECISELY DUE TO THIS AND NOW MY SMALL SQUAD IS COMING BACK TO BITE ME ON THE ASS."

That coming from their diplomancer no less who apparently due to panic had his mental defenses fall. You could also hear him shout orders.

"RUN NOW. SMART ZOMBIE INBOUND. FLAMER TAKE THE REAR AND COVER US. STICK TOGETHER AND MAYBE WE JUST MIGHT SURVIVE THIS."

"Goddamn it boss this was why we left the crazies what bad luck..."

As the bandits retreated...that was when the zombies leaped into action. As leapers hopped down from the roof tops and the Outlaw bandit who took the rear started to open up with their flamethrower. Meanwhile zombies now realizing the jig was up started pouring out from nearby streets and buildings. You noticed some mutant zombies were among them. They appear to be coming after you and the bandits both...

The bandits now apparently seemed most intent on getting away from yo-oh balls your the psion. FUCK.

Meanwhile with Andy who was overlooking a certain factory with a stream of bots taking crates out and piles of resources in.

"...Shit. Not just one but two. Fuck."

"Do we attack?" Asks a hulking figure behind a stealth field.

"Fuck no you big baffoon. This is too much for us. We can't handle anyone with either a good HQ or a hero much less both."

"Then who shall we target?"

"Go after tertiary targets both primary and secondary are off limits."

Well at least they weren't serious about it...now to grab some intel and prisoners."

Meanwhile at a certain workshop.

"How does the acquisition of clone gear AIs?"

"...Difficult. Clone gear poorly made and clones were naturally used as a meatshield during the fall. Acquiring intact clone gear tech...difficult extremely difficult."

"Get your hands on it no matter the cost. If we can get our hands on some of those we can develop our own schematics instead of repair and modifying shit."

"That is easier said then done."

"I don't care I am SO tired of dealing with modifications and jury rigging its driving me insane. I want something NEW to play with! With some intact pieces of clone tech it wont have any countermeasures worth a damn and we can use it to develop our own homemade designs from scratch that will actually be worth something. You construction AI are fucking terrible at not following directions."

"...There is a reason why we are Construction AI instead of Research."

"Yeah don't remind me...at least it means your easy to acquire."

"So about technical-"

"No."

"But."

"NO. Every last chump in the wasteland can make a damned technical their value is shit. So shit in fact nobody cannot even get the bandits to buy."

"That may be due to your unwillingness to charge cheaply enough and the bandits are disturbingly good at certain schematics despite the insanity, lack of quality control, and...many other things."

"Yeah maybe one day they will finally teach you fucks how to properly improvise and breaking the rules is fine. I don't have much hope of making you inventive."

Psi is different then magic it all taps into the same source the same thing Psi. Psi is Oneness.

Magic has many kinds of magics and they are tapped into differently. Used differently. Understood differently.

Psi gets to enjoy unity but magic gets variety.

I spent quite a bit of thought with how they are similar yet in truth they are actually very different. They are diverged from each other greatly which is the actual reason why Psi Magi are so rare.

Its an even bigger pain in the ass to make psi and magic come together then it is magic/psi and tech. In truth the only reason why its been developed is due to them having a gigantic head start.

We'll have the plasma pistol in our left hand and in our right, that dagger boss gave us as a bonus. I think it's an ancient and powerful enchanted item. We use them against any zombies that get too close.

In our power armor, combined with dagger and plas pistol, hopefully we can plow through any zombies fast enough to get in our way.

If not, well the armor does have a blink teleporter, although I hate having to use all our tricks right away. Or perhaps we could activate the jetpack for added momentum if we need to overrun a zombie to get past them?

"That is actually a very good question. Now no zombies are coming out this building, there is only one entrance, it has a nice open area with places to fire from above in the upper floors, and it has many floors so getting climbing lads."

"GAAHHH at least the damned psion didn't mean to attract the zombies boss your even worse then him!"

You suddenly find yourself reconsidering teaming up with the bandits but unfortunately they chose the most defensible building that wasn't crawling with zombies. So you charged into that same building and nearly got yourself shot if it wasn't for the bandits arguing while they quickly threw up some barricades and guys climbed up the stairs to the upper floors to shoot. You also saw some bandits were placing explosions in certain locations.

"Now which one of you maggots ain't fought a smart zombie," yells the boss. Much to his horror on expression they all raised their hands.

"...FUCK. Alright then. You bomb the windows too. Zombies led by smart zombies will climb ontop of themselves to even knock shit out of the sky. Much less using it to gain entrance by windows. Bomb the hall ways outside our retreat route. Make sure its collapsed properly so it will slow them down. You fucks keep bombing the stairs and the main entrance. Barricade the stairs up as much as you can while leaving an escape route for us. Once we are clear of it bomb it. This will buy us a little time because they'll after form their own stairs giving us a bit more time."

"Also make sure to watch from above. I seen mutant zombies who will no doubt try to trap as by coming from above and the smart zombie may decide to form a tower of zombies to send guys in from above too."
>>
Rolled 8 (1d100)

"Well how the fuck are we suppose to survive then boss?"

"For one thing we gotta make the smart zombie think its not worth sending ordinary zombies from above. We do that by bluffing and keeping the psion over there closer to the ground. So long as the smart zombie has a lure like that closer to the ground it wont bother sending anything extra from above."

"I didn't think smart zombies went for bait."

"They do. Its just their favorite bait is psions. Now we do a good slow fighting retreat the longer we can stay down near the bottom the better, because once the smart zombie decides to tower instead of swarm we are fucked. Got it? Hopefully it wont choose to do a slam tower...but I doubt it will wanna risk accidentally killing the psion."

"Uh boss HERE THEY CO-wait why are they fighting each other? Wait...Boss? Did you...how did you get them to fight each other?"

"What you never thought of making your enemy fight themselves?"

"But HOW?"

"I got my trade secrets. With the infighting the smart zombie now can't swarm us as easily."

"What the fuck is that bewitching howlin-"

"Damn it," curses their leader as you head felt fuzzy and you thoughts felt slow. Their boss however was uneffected as he brought out a boombox that started blasting loud tunes knocking it out of your head.

"What the hell was that," muttered a bandit as she rubbed her head.

"That is a zombie witch's howl. Nasty thing will lull you into a special state before she rips your head off with those talons. If you wanna see just look right outside."

Sure enough outside...even the zombies were were effected and you saw a bloody blur that the howling was coming from that was tearing them into shreds.

"Man I really fucking hope that zombie doesn't have a witch."

"Worse. Smart Zombies use Sirens. Much more powerful but not very good fighters."

"Why no witches then?"

"Witch zombies are hard to control. They are basically the small fast version of those huge hulking berserker zombies."

"Fuck I seen one of those like a big pissed off fleshy tank full of fury."

"Yeah berserker huge zombies are very rare. Most are like the tanks mutated zombies you seen before. The berserk tanks are much more dangerous then the ordinary tanks as they are both faster and hit a lot harder."

"...So how did you know how to lure berserker zombies over here?"

"That smart zombie isn't a heroic class meaning it cannot control their kind. There are ways to lure them over and look at the damage they're causing."

"You got some massively dirty tricks boss. Stuff that ain't even in the big bad book."

You decide to shoot at the oncoming horde. Fortunately there are a ton of them so accuracy doesn't matter much. Which is a good thing given how shaky and nervous you are being well aware it is YOU that they are after. Slowly you all retreated backwards while fighting the oncoming zombie swarm. Fortunately the stuff the bandits created helped delay the oncoming zombies but there are so many of them they are gaining ground. Happily climbing over each other in order to get at you.

So you slowly climbed up the stairs and then they blew up. Causing the zombies to fall and scramble. After a short while they start piling up on each other and climbing up. As the diplomat had guessed it was merely a forestalling tactic.

Realizing that if you keep this up your going to burn through your ammo. You switched to your powers lobbing fireballs and freezing cold blasts. You heard some gunfire outside and you are hoping that means reinforcements.

The bandits seem to be having difficulty with the zombies coming from above. You saw one leaper fall to the horde below while chewing on a screaming bandit who was falling with it. Seems like things aren't going to well for them when unexpectedly you saw some mutant zombies with guns who the other zombies ignored until they opened up on them instead of you.

That was when you heard a shout from below.

"You didn't say anything about a DAMNED SMART ZOMBIE YOU SELFISH PRICK."

"Hey I DID tell you about the ghouls!"

"Yeah but you could of told us you somehow pissed of a smart zombie. Why the hell is it after you anyway? I Know you ain't stupid enough to have a psion with so-" That is when the...thing down there looked at you and you could see its jaw unhinge with a long tongue dangling out licking its chops. "I see...a psion...not one of yours...guess that explains it. You somehow got caught up in a mess like this. Your lucky we are friends."

"Aye that we are so...any luck for helping us out?"

"Ghouls are already here, some undead are showing up, and we saw some flying aircraft inbound on the zombies. so my people are on the way out. Naturally we came by to pick you up."

"Really with all the zombies here?"

"What zombies," asks the figure standing in the middle of dead zombie piles.

"Well the ones abo-oh damn your guys are fast."

A ghoul swarm as slammed directly into the zombies creating chaos. Undead...registered as an ally are also beginning to make their push into the zombies."

"The zombies may however attempt one final push to get us or they may choose to retreat sooner rather then later."

Directing call to Shrouded One.

"Preferably get out of the way firebombs have a bad habit of spreading."

"Then why are you using firebombs?"

"They are very effective against zombies. My forces are not that plentiful you know."

"So what is with the undead allies?"

"My girlfriend decided to show up she has a thing for...well corpses. Doesn't mind making more of them too so she has more stuff to play with."

"She sounds creepy like Andy would like her."

"Its mutual. She unlike us actually likes people but she likes dead people even more. I suggest not getting on her bad side not because of what she'll do to you when your alive but more what she'll do to you when your dead. Get on her bad side and you can kiss the afterlife goodbye."

"If somehow you actually DO work for the Shrouded One i am sure we will see each other again soon enough. Not sure if the Shrouded One's doesn't mind psions or the taste for a meatbag isn't strong enough to not wanna hire one."

>>813047
You decide to go up the stairs and wait for the incoming aircraft. It takes a little while particularly when you realized the ones which came in first were bombers and gunships. Finally a carrier arrived that deposited some military bots which started climbing their way down into the resulting mess. Apparently needing to satisfy their bloodlust. The troop(bot) carrier then came up to your location and picked you up.

You go to enjoy the view of a melee between ghouls and zombies getting firebombed while getting undead decided they wanted in on it too! Bots meanwhile flanked them keeping the escape route clear but trying to keep their distance from the resulting slaughter.

You were taken back to base by the bot bird...and were surprised to see Andy but no Shrouded One.

"What happen to the shrouded one?"

"Girlfriend came by what do you think those two get laid often given their taste for bots and dead?"

"...Yeah I guess not. So how long before I can see-"

"Its going to be a while."

"...How long is a while exactly?"

"Usually around a week."

"Damn...they are like that all fucking week long?"

"Yeah sometimes only a few days usually its around a week. Unless its close to their...whatever the fuck you humans call it when you been together for at least a year. In which case its more like a month."

"...Damn wished I was getting fucked that hard."

"Yeah...no wait I don't come equipped with sex."

"HOLY SHIT YOUR SEXBOT!"

Psi suppression is difficult and our character doesn't know how to go about it. It would be far easier to just avoid going out alone and unguarded to prevent ambushes from smart zombies and any other psychic predators. We'd also be safer from ambushes and threats unrelated to our psionic ability.

Despite that, I'd be willing to give it a shot, but this thread is about to die. So come on, lucky 99!

The whole package. 'He' is however out of things like the pheromones but 'she' has the equipment. Assassin Androids are designed to be able to disguise themselves as humans, other androids, or even cyborgs to help with their missions. Seduction is just a single weapon in their arsenal.

Super Assassin Androids are deadly enough to even kill heroes. Sadly Andy isn't a Super model but short off facing an elite or badass who can give him a hard time he can easily kill anything else. IF its a hero though even Andy wouldn't wanna face them head on. Even at the city he did actually fight the hero but merely bypassed him.

Andy knows his limits.

"I stand corrected maybe you DO have some sneaky potential you got about half of it right. So you get a special prize and I'll tell you the truth."

"You I didn't just charge in there blind. First I got the intelligence I needed and then I did some sabotage. Thankfully since I been working with the Shrouded One my understanding of weapons, bullets, hardware and armor has increased quite a bit. So I sneaked into their armament depot and sabotaged their shit. After that i ran around placing a few explosives and then I went after my targets."

"The reason why their guns messed up...I sabotaged them. The reason why their turrets attacked them? I hacked them ahead of time. The reasons for things exploding including their munitions? A well placed bomb that were small and very easy to miss. After that it was simply all about the plan. The way I was able to evade their reinforcements and ambush them? I previously scouted out the terrain and figured out the best places to ambush them. Made them think they had a chance chasing me in their home ground. What they forgot however is I too could use it against them. I made sure to disguise myself a mere human by covering up...it was only their hero who figured me out. That made them underestimate me and helped me out to the very end."

"You gotta remember kid if your sneaky you wont do nearly as well as if you were sneaky AND smart. Half the game of subterfuge is being smart and being stealthy is the other half. Yeah being strong helps but in truth its the least important thing, because if you do your job right you don't need to be strong to be effective."

"...Damn Andy..."

"You got promise so this package here contains a piece of stealth armor. I am afraid it ain't no body armor but its one of the stealthiest suits of armor we got. You got some sneaky potential I do hope you manifest it properly."

Psi-suppression/stealthiness. We need to fucking get this. See if the BAndit Book says anything about what psions do to circumvent several very nasty things always wanting to eat them.

Also though, check our spellbok to see if it says anything about concealing magical power/potential. If so, see if we can think of some analogous technique that could apply to Psi, seeing as we have figured out somewhat about the common bond between the two.

If that also doesn't work, then see if there's some sort of magic we could try to use to hide or mask our psi signal.

According to the bandit book that is actually what the crazies can help with. Things that want psions tend not to want the MADS. Throw in a crazy town which basically produces tons of psi pollution makes it very hard to notice psions(particularly the non insane variety). As for actual psi concealment techniques there really isn't much in the book about it. Supposedly there are some psions who are naturally stealthy even without the cover provided by the crazies but its not very special.

There are mentions of invisibility and other stealth assists. Most of it appears to be illusion based but it doesn't actually have any spells for it.

It is mentioned in the psi book the psi magi have ways to disguise their magic as psi and psi as magic but it doesn't know how they do it.

>>
Rolled 4 (1d100)

>>815964
Hmm, pretty sure this is the 3rd 1 of the thread, seeing as the first was countered by Fate and one of the others was just discussion.

If it's not...well I think this is more a 1 on training than anything else which will be neat. Just at a very very inopportune time.

If it is...well at least it'll be easy to write.

"ANDY, YOU INTERRUPTED US TO DELIVER A NOTE FROM WHO?"

"FUCKING PSI-MAGI WANTS TO LEARN NECROMANCY? I'LL FUCKING TEACH HIM SOME GODDAMN NECROMANCY SHOW HIM FOR INTERRUPTING ME AFTER SO LONG WITHOUT MY SWEET!!"

Then it turns out we're actually really good at it.

If it's not the third 1 then basically the same thing and still learn a lot except we're also pretty much 1/2-3/4 dead at the end too.

>>
Rolled 50 (1d100)

>>816091
I was saying we should ask more generally for training, which you interpreted as "never ask or hint at" wanting training from the necro lady specifically.

It seems rather impertinent to me to ask the boss for training from their powerful necromancer lover without even having met them.

Not to mention that if we can't have training from her, a more general request for training would be more likely to succeed and could even turn up results that would actually be better for us than simply asking for training from necro lady.

But then I got pissed that you characterized my suggestion to ask for magic/psi training generally rather than from one necromancer specifically as "never ever let the necromancer see any indication we might like to learn from them"
>>

I'd like to just get out and see the world mostly. Of course, the game tends to end fairly quickly when we deiced to just go with the flow too ]spoiler]for instance continually saying we like the Shrouded One, because he/she has been a legitimately pretty good boss thus far...but he/she doesn't understand social interaction because all they do is hang out with bots so they think we /like them/ like them and are even considering it might be love.[/spoiler], but at least it's worth a shot.

You have the brilliant idea of finding the scary necromancer lady and ask her to take you on as an apprentice. Problem was you weren't sure where they were but you certainly heard the sound of their...lovemaking. So all you had to do was follow the noise...and broken furniture. As it turned out they were much father away then you thought and they were very loud. Honestly at first you thought they were trying to kill each other given. So when you stood in front of the...house that looked like it had just been in the middle of a battlefield in hell itself. You found yourself very happy that you were psion and you did not in fact have to step in there.

Also you knew what the Shrouded One's mind felt like so it was easy to contact the other one when you asked to be taken on as an apprentice.

"YEESSS...wait honey never was into that sort of rolepl-oh GODDAMN IT."

Suddenly the sound of the fuckathon suddenly halted as a very disheveled looking shortstack of a woman with black hair and green eyes suddenly appeared on the terrace above...she was super hot. You felt deep regret that you could see the second half but thankfully it never occurred to her to cover up. So you got a wonderful eyeful of her glistening and sweaty panting tits.

"YOOUUU-what kind of monster interrupts a lovemaking session between two lovers who rarely meet? And more IMPORTANTLY what kind of SHITTY apprentice cockblocks their master huh? I was THIS close to getting off so fucking hard I wouldn't be able to stand and you RUINED IT!"

"Well it worked didn't it? Besides I left a note but no reply came in so I checked in person."

""WORK? LETS SEE IF THE DEAD WILL SPARE YOU IN THE CATACOMBS. Undead drag this so called wannabe apprentice to the catacombs. If he survives MAYBE I'll consider it."

"HOLD IT," shouts a new voice from deeper in. "Why would I let my girlfriend get a male apprentice? I know how perverted the magi are it wouldn't be very long before you ended up fucking hi-wait a second isn't that the psion? What use could he be to you?"

"Psion? Well he'll die soon enough. I never had an apprentice live for long."

"That is because you have insanely high standards...wait did you really let the pervert magi thing pass?"

"You kidding we got fucking MAGIC of course we are the biggest damned perverts to ever exist. Besides with amnesia he would be a fucking terrible lay."

"Oh...um well if he is going to the catacombs make sure he picks up some old world magical arms and armor alright?"

"Your fine with it?"

"Bah I seen him getting shredded by bullet storms twice AND sniped all in the same fight he recovered a few weeks later. He ain't that easy to kill got some devil's luck(fatepoints) or something. Come on baby your undead have arrived to take him away so lets get back to it."

Sure enough you smelled decay and bone dust as two bony hands grabbed your shoulders as two skeletons appeared from behind you. After that they forcefully dragged you away to a vehicle that released a deathly chill and you could hear the screams souls coming from the engine. There the skeletons threw you in back as some androids arrived with Andy leading them.

"Well if it isn't you who did something very stupid..."

"What she can't be that bad."

"..."

"That bad?"

"She prefers dead people over living ones. Not to mention those catacombs are crawling with undead. All your getting is a few skeletons and androids carrying packs. They may be armed but undead are tough sons of bitches. They are already dead you know? It ain't easy to kill him again when they are already done. Plus she was never one for apprentices."

After that you got driven somewhere...eventually stopping in the middle of a meadow with an ancient tomb entrance was. There the undead grabbed you opening the doors and threw you inside before sealing it.

"The heat is coming from the growths and pool which is what drew us to this place. I do not detect any nearby heat sources."

Poking around with your psionics you do not pick up anything. Its as if nothing is there.

maybe go through our occult book some see if there are any hints about the undead? maybe somehow a map of some catacombs?

I think this is under that grave yard we learned about early on. At least that is what my gut tells me.

If not maybe Boss had a map on the sever AMY was hooked up to.

Rolled 1 (1d100)

We should really chitchat with AMY more than we do.

"So AMY, what do you actually specialize into? I know what you told me before, but I think we both know that's not exactly the whole truth. So what is it? Assisting in widespread economic sabotage through individual actors? Spy-assistant? Or are you just a generalized smart AI?

If you could be doing anything right now, what would you be doing?"

Fucking 1s aplenty in this thread.

fate points for the love of god fate points! if we fuck up now everything else will be a nightmare! Pop two. Make the Catacombs great again!
>>
>>818521
I'm not sure why you're panicking, it's just discussion. If it fucks anything up then it'll just make AMY shut down for quite some time while she simulates a reality where she's doing exactly what she wishes she were doing right now.

Also if that happens though we've reset ourselves to '3rd 1' territory.

So it probably won't do anything but if it does it's probably one of the least painful ways to gain some insurance.

So, psi-magi are rare as all hell.

I wonder how rare psi-necromancers are.

And then we'll make psionic undead zombies.

There isn't anything in the book about catacombs besides it stating that catacombs are undead havens if they aren't cleansed regularly. It does have a bit on the undead talking about the mindless, the intelligent, and the ancients. As well as the different ways they come into being and some of their possible weaknesses.

Now during your trip down the side passages...you found tombs. Rows upon rows of tombs stacked up on each other. There is strange writing and what you realize is magical still flickering glyphs are covered into stone and bone. You even found some old weapons and armor that your 'escorts' grabbed. Strangely enough the tombs themselves...were entirely empty.

Given the dust in some of them they have been so for quite some time. Then you noticed the tombs which were clearly recently disturbed...as in something picked themselves up from it. Given the thick layer of dust even in those parts whatever had laid there previously had been there for some time before deciding to pick themselves up.

What do?

I am sad this was wasted on a discussion. Well at least i ain't the only one wasting 1s.

"As i have said before I am assistant AI who specializes in targeting, analyse, and requisitions."

"Undead aren't exactly very vulnerable to tech unless its one of their haunted or possessed pieces. So I really cannot do much right now."

Sure. After this I want to check out the pool and growths though.

Wouldn't expect things to be 'growing' and not putting off any psi signature in somewhere that the undead call home.
>>
Rolled 41 (1d100)

Yeah fuck messing with glyphs and writings. Last thing we need is to read something aloud and awaken our undead masters.

When did anons get so afraid to explore? Not that I particularly mind it, I would fine it extremely amusing for Genie to come up with all this in-depth shit only for us to bypass all the traps and such by just walking past it.
>>
Rolled 63 (1d100)

>>818778
I'll go for it. Not even ashamed to admit it's partially due to the great roll, even with genies warnings about goo rolls do not a good plan make
>>
>>819566
you and I both know that when you explore you die, we have gotten to see some cool shit so far, we have seen bandit factions twice and were inches from being recruited by one, giant zombie vs monster vs bot battles, we are friends with an Assassin droid and learned a lot about them, we have worked a caravan and collected sweet loot, on a side note I'd like to see our invintory because I think we have a lot of guns, supplies and otherwise useless crap to us that the shrouded one could sell for us for a cut. I kinda love that we are dodging all the groups but making friends kinda and staying under the radar, also we are learning magi/psi which has allways intrigued me

For some reason The writings...called to you. You had no idea what they could mean but when you took a closer look with your psi...you felt a connection. So when you infused the psi into the writings they translated themselves into your mind.

Your not sure how but for some reason it works.

The writings talked about what they were like in life, how they died, their names, religious writings, dying words, and most importantly what was the blessings for the dead. When you read them you felt a strange presence that lifted away...and you noticed that the undead skeletons following you have taken several steps back from you. Apparently they did not like those blessings even if it was said mentally.

You decide to study the writings and glyphs. The glyphs as it turned out had some examples of inside the spellbook. If they had been working properly they would of kept the dead peaceful, sleepy, and their rest undisturbed. The glyphs told you that the undead who were stored here...were no ordinary dead. You don't need this kinds of glyphs for the average person. If you only knew the glyphs better you would be able to decipher what was special about these corpses that required such special treatment.

These were as it turned out containment, shielding, sealing, blessings, and dead glyphs.

You were about to miss the last when you noticed some darker writings that had a strange chill yet unholy anger. When you took a look closer you saw them. Glyphs...but they were clearly different then the ones previously. According to your spellbook these glyphs...were that of the Dead.

Created by the Undead...over countless eons they carry deep and terrible power. The power the like of which the living cannot comprehend, the gods themselves would fear, and make immortals tremble. As it turned out the examples of the glyphs in your book had loose translations included...and they were remarkably similar to some of the glyphs here.

What they said was

We Wake......blazing....Anger....Cold.....Death.....Prize....Wrath...Together. You are unable to figure out what the rest says but unlike the previous glyphs these ones still tremble with power.

roll 1d100 to piece together the reasons why the dead were sealed the way they were.

sure GENIE doesn't keep track of our shit... but AMY certainly would have that information so yeah you do kinda have to keep track lol but I'm sure delim or smart anon have a paste bin with everything so not to worry

I've got an inventory from the first thread in a loose format. Whenever we get to another thread I'll compile it better and post it in a pastebin or something.

Rolling for figring it out, and for going back respectively. Also, dat 42 on a knowledge roll. Fucking dice love us figuring out mysterious shit with this character. It ought to become a trait sometime soon.
