In ages past men lived simpler lives - they would hunt, farm, fight and always respect the might of the Old Gods. Shamans led the clans with their elemental magic - so it was for many generations, before history was ever written down. The great hero Rog united a dozen human clans into a tribe that would form the foundation of our future Kingdom. One day Rog mysteriously vanished - then came the Great Storm - when it passed, the shamans could no longer feel the presence of the Gods and had lost the source of their magic.
Our civilization would have to progress on its own and so for generations we worked the lands, expanded in numbers and territory. We adopted goblin miners, fought dragons and welcomed a demonic warband. Adventures were had, technology progressed as we explored more and more of the world, largely adopting the faith of the New Gods of the Pantheon.
The Second Horde War was a terrible conflict, mirrored by a civil war within our Kingdom - in its process the mighty Kingdom of Paitras fell and our own Kingdom was greatly damaged, with the city of Nayte and its surroundings being anhilated, ending the lives of all our denizen demons.
After the Second Horde War the Norsemen were united into an Empire and we've been fighting them ever since. We've had both victories and losses, with the Ice Dragons being a mighty asset to the norsemen.
At the end of the 3rd century Paitras was been reborn under the ruler of Ezgielath, Verigal.

In the early 4th century the Barbarian Crusades were fought between us civilized nations and the vile heathen barbarians in both southern and northern lands - it ended with the expansion of Roggar to the southwest, but the loss of Paitran lands in the northeast. In the Threemine region a massive earthquake devastated the area and led to the awakening of mighty earthen beings led by an ancient one that calls himself a Titan, whom the lesser ones reffer to as "Father-Mountain".
A shadowy cult of lizardmen recently summoned an eldricht horror in Dragonstomb, crashing a wedding (with some survivors). Investigation has revealed fairly little into these lizardmen, except that the dominant Draconic faith in most lizard nations also fights against these Cults of the Vast.

Faction: Dragonfist Clan
The Dragonfist clan (originally the Mutt Clan) Used to be a band of goblins and humans raised on the the streets that turned into farmers thanks to Mutt Dragonfist. The Mutt an urchin turned soldier managed to kill a dragon with one punch allowing his clan and his dynasty to be respected among the Roggarians. The Dragonfist Family isn't the richest nor the most powerful but they still are respected after all this years due the continuous effort of many members of the Dragonfist family: They produce tons of food due thanks to their priestly hunters and farmers; Muttville, the Fortress island is still an essential river port of Roggar and all the temples that exist around the feudal lands of the Dragonfists make their land a place that all adherents to the pantheon need to visit at least once in their lifetime.

Current Leader:Robin Dragonfist
Age 34

Assets: Dragonfist millitia, Dragonfist soldiers, horses, human and goblin farmers, Muttville and it's fortress, Temple of Divata, Smokyton and the surrounding farms, Temple of Zemel, Duchy of the Fork, Altodominio , Temple of Ezdar, Order of the Dragon, Priestly hunters, farmers, Tamers Muttwolves, Vahkrin, raptors

B&C

We've founded a Royal Magical Academy in Dragonstomb. It is separate from the other academy, which has been renamed to "Royal Educational Academy for the Godly Academic Needs" by the Dragonking.

A choice must be made in regards to the new Magical Academy though - what purpose will it serve?

A.Advance our understanding of magic under the guidance of the Pantheon
B.Secular advancement of magical science
C.A Pantheonic-based curriculum like A, but with a separate division of "Dark Arts" studies permitted to those who may be entrusted with the knowledge.
D.Other

Magic that is considered heretical and would be not be permitted by the Pantheonic Church includes all magic that changes/damages souls - necromancy for instance. The summoning of eldricht horrors and demons is also heretical. Golemancy is permitted insofar as the golem does not posess independent thought capabilities.

The Magical Academy of Godly Arts is also founded as an academic institution in which the Church is involved - those who wish to become magicians, alchemists, enchanters, golem-makers will be able to study Pantheon-approved subjects there.
Until now study of Pantheonic magic was tied to priestly training - any prospective magicians had to be trained in a temple and after completing their training and some amount of church service could be allowed to pursue other paths in life(usually those would be the nobility), while most continue on as priets. The MAGA does include religious study, but its aim is to specifically train non-priest magicians, those that are referred to by some as "Wizards."

Calling for D

We've been amassing knowledge on various designs for weapons and armor from our own experimentation, priests of Kovag and other nations.

Currently bronze scale armor is the low-budget choice for provincial militias, town watch and such. Iron chainmail is the standart soldier's protective gear, with different degrees of quality available. Protective greaves for legs, bracers for arms and helmets for heads are also available in a variety of forms.

Steel has been a luxury ever since we started producing it and has been used for weapons, but we've now developed a form of heavy, highly-protective armor that uses steel and iron, while retaining a good flexibility, combining certain Paitran and elvish designs with our own experimentation - the segmentated cuirass. It is the highest-quality chest protection that is produced by humans, though it is an expensive thing to create and outfitting the standart soldier with such a cuirass would be extremely difficult with our current economic situation.
We've also worked on weapon designs, standartising short swords for our heavy infantry, longer swords for our cavalry, spears for throwing, infantry and cavalry melee and battle axes. Shields are standartised as well, with large rectangular or oval shields being used by Roggarian and Paitran-style infantry, norsemen prefer their large round shields, while cavalry and lighter infantry prefer smaller shields.

B&C

We've invested into further standartising the agricultural sector through proper introduction of weights and measures, better tools and increaased variety in a manor's production - while many choose to specialise in certain products, the standart manor will produce grain, vegetables, fruits, milk and meat. Animal labor is better employed in production, as are more advanced mechanical creations, such as irrigation through the use of aqueducts and the usage of water mills for large-scale flour production.

The climate change that was observed in the last century has still not receeded, though the weather isn't getting any colder at least - that gravely affected our production in the past.
With a more stabilised agricultural sector, production has gone up, which has helped us improve our trade situation, while wages for farmers(who are all workers by contract, with the outlawing of slavery and indentured servitude) have gone up, which has improved public morale.

May Roggar stand forever.
Long live the king.

I DragonKing Dascaf Yalmfrid ask that Duke Whitevayne have his holding searched and is to be arrested for plotting against Roggar and researching Necromancy without The Church of The King's Approval.
It is obvious that such a wretched soul has nefarious goals in mind and as his forefathers wishes to take the crown by force using unholy magical forces again to seize it.

We'll support the development of sports(chiefly athletics), but what we must discuss now is education.

Currently education can be obtained either through the Church or the Academies(in which tuition must be paid for and therefore it is the wealthy who are able to recieve education).
The vast majority of our Kingdom's denizens are illiterate peasants.

A.Aim to educate the peasantry by establishing a basic school system that teaches their children to read, write, do simple math and know basic things. Keep it secular.
B.Have the Church help with the establishment of schools for the commonfolk, thus boosting their efficiency
C.Focus on the quality of education in our Academies
D.Have tuition in the Royal Academies be paid for by the Crown
E.Other

You may pick more than one.

A - we will begin establishing the basic school system in Roggar that will cover reading, writing, math, history, religious teaching.

A matter has arisen as of late and the entire Kingdom must come together and decide on how to deal with it.

Archmage Brutus Whitevayne has admitted to researching the subject of necromancy. He has denied practicing it by raising the dead or tampering with souls, stating that his research has been purely academical. Current evidence publicly available backs his claim.
Necromancy is forbidden by the Pantheonic Church, but our Kingdom's laws are not the laws of the Church. The King has argued with his Council on this matter, so we must make a decision now.

A.The Archmage is free to pursue magical research, that's his job.
B.The Archmage may pursue such research, but he must divulge all his findings with the public or at the very least with the King
C. The Archmage must reveal his findings to a commitee of Church Officials, Councilmen and the King. Said Commitee will decide what to do with the research, but the Archmage himself will not be severely punished in any other way
D.The Archmage must hand over all of his research, resign his position and be fobidden from practicing magic.
E.Arrest the Archmage and put him to trial!

Vdigem Lurser has, after several decades of efforts, aided greatly by the Duke of Gobopolis, managed to unite most of the steppe centaurs into a Pantheonic Khaganate! Great Khan Lurser, who rules over more than 200 000 centaurs, has asked to be crowned King of the Steppes, swearing eternal faith to the Pantheon. Rolled 29 (1d100)

Archmage Whitevayne has been researching the sphere of necromancy for several decades now. He has not raised any corpses or tampered with any souls, as his research has primarily been focused on accessing information from necromancers abroad(primarily the Lizard lands). His current capabilities can be rated at level 3 - he is capable of raising not only the recently deceased, but even skelletons, though the fresher the corpse, the easier it is to controll and maintain. As a necromancer he personally could controll up to a hundred undead given the right preparation and a mana supply. Said undead are unintelligent beings bound to the necromancer's will. capable of performing tasks about as complex as those most basic golems can perform.

The theoretical basis of necromancy is centered around supplanting a body's soul(what gives it intelligence and will) with a controlled injection of mana that can bind that body to the caster's will.

The information that was provided in this report has been given to the leaders of Roggar, but it does not contain actual practical rites and rituals, required for casting necromantic magic.

Rolling for event.

In recent years it appears that the ogres of New Ogre Haven, our small neighbouring community, have cut off trade with our Kingdom - this is coming at the same time as reports of what appear to be demon ogres are coming in from the eastern swamp frontier.

In other news, the Barbarian King (it is unknown if it is the same man we faced years ago or his heir) has sent his forces against the recently-crowned King Lurser of the Steppes. The Mighty rules over many centaur clans as well, while his human Dovoni forces are also highly-mobile.

We've started raising more troops, preparing for trouble - this recruitment initiative would be the last royal order during Dascaf Yalmfrid's reign, as in the winter he passed away after 33 years spent on the throne of Roggar.

In the Spring a contest will be held to choose a new Dragonking of Roggar. Anyone may apply.

If you wish to put forth a candidate from your faction, state the following:
>Name
>Age
>A bit about them - who they are, what they can do
>Your agenda and what you promise to do as King

Candidates, roll a 1d100 for Contest performance.
You can support a candidate with a 1d10 roll. Candidates may drop out of the race and endorse others.

As Finn changed his mind and voted for Erden, a rebel group that had been forming in his faction finally sprung into action. With an intense fight, the last surviving Hawthorne was downed by Cianán Ó Dálaigh, a member of one of the oldest Hawthorne Family's families. With this change in power, so too came a change in name. Rebranding as the Ceirdeanna, (Just call us the Useful Arts if you want a useful English name.) politics within this faction have now changed. No longer will one family rule over the rest, but those in power may be toppled if their votes go against the opinion of the rest of the faction. Kogal has now been moved to a permanent adviser role, fighting only when necessary.

Basically the name and leadership of the faction changes, but the faction is still the same.

We'll send 15 Legions, with 10 Banners to support them, a total of 50 000 men.

The King may appoint Legates to Legions 1-15 now, or Centurions serving within a Legion.
Legions that are not controlled by a player will just be an NPC that performs averagelly

Now, where should we invade the enemy through?
The Mighty controls the eastern part of the steppes, the centaur mountains, from which the Longfork flows and human lands to the east, which border Paitras.

A.Attack through the steppes
B.Attack towards the minotaur mountain
C.Attack from Paitras south, into barbarian human lands

Our army is assembled and in late spring of 357, with our preparations done, we march up the Longfork, towards the mountains it flows from.

King Lurser will send his hordes eastwards to match the Mighty's own centaur forces, while King Verigal II will send his Paitran Legions southwards, towards the lands of the Dovoni humans.

Summer's beginning by the time our army reaches the minotaur lands. Lacking the numbers to face us head-on, the first few camps and villages we encountered fled before us or surrendered.

What path should we take now?
A.Cross the river and go around the foothills through the south
B.Go around the foothills through the north

We march towards the mountains. The Mountainheads are said to be the strongest of the minotaurs and if united they can be one of the most devastating infantry forces in the known world, their strength surpassing that of the average ogre or demon.

Our vanguard is entering a mountain pass, when it notices a lone figure standing on high ground, overlooking the pass - a large minotaur with an equally large axe.

We force our way through this pass, encountering no more than two score minotaurs. Eventually we reach the nearby village and find it fully deserted. The next Mountainhead village we reach is also empty.
Scouts report that minotaurs from all over the mountains and foothills have been heading east, likely in a bid to regroup with the Barbarian King's army.
We've recieved a report that the Paitran Legions are steadily advancing southwards, while King Lurser is making progress towards the east. The invasion is going as planned so far in the summer of 357 - we will continue tomorrow.

Here my roll for my faction project. Maybe just building up my poor citizens allowing them more space by making a some more walls.
This time in a pattern, maybe divide this new wall project into 4 parts, and depending on my roll is how much do on each part is done.

The space inbetween the 6 and 7 wall will be a place for the poor to farm and grow food. That why I'm spitting it up in parts. That why if I roll low, make it that at least some of the section is done.

You've built another wall, bringing Gregariapol to seven circles. The seventh wall is of regular quality, while the inner six are of demonic strength. Tier seven is outer farmland, while tier four may be developed further now if you wish.

You've discovered a coal deposit close to the surface near your village. You've put the human peasants to work extracting that valuable resource, needed for the production of quality steel.
>>634177
You've built the centaur city. Most centaurs are not comfortable with spending a long time in one location, but the city acts as a meeting place for your clans, an assembly of merchants and professionals.

The current war situation:
Our army(numbering 49k) has been delayed by the Mountainhead minotaurs enough that most foothilll villages have evacuated either to Chepazar or to the east, where they seek to meet up with the Mighty's Army. Push on men! Another round of fighting and we may win!

It is an odd thing - we find the city mostly empty aside from those minotaurs that are fighting to defend it. They're holding on to the central plaza now, it's been quite a few hours since the assault began and the sun has almost set. Our men are a bit tired, but one final push might get us to a victory!

We're wearing the enemy down, though at a hefty price, every minotaur takes at least one human down with him even when vastly outnumbered.

We couldn't sustain the attack throughout the night and set up camp within the outer parts of the city and around the walls, while the remaining defenders still hold the city center.

It's another dawn. The men prepare their equipment, the assault continues!

Though they number less than 200 by now, the minotaurs fight hard for each inch of ground we take as they are pushed back to their headquarters.
Among their ranks we spot one who appears to be a leader of sorts - a bit over 7 feet tall, he belongs to the Foothill minotaurs, like most others near him. He is giving out orders and himself enters the fray wherever he is most needed, killing multiple soldiers at once!

A.Send a party of up to 6 elite soldiers(Volunteers welcome) against him - send too many and he won't fight them head on

Cornelius takes a kneel after the siege was wrapped up and the last minotaurs had surrendered.
Looking around at the devastation he grimaced, while scaling the walls he had lost many of his friends and his arm was still slick with the blood of his first kill.
He was a graying old bull who had got, he grunted most pitifully when his blade pierced his chest and was a long time dying.
Cornelius had decided he did not like war.
However he looks to the king, and seeing him standing triumphant over the body of the Minotaur leader, surrounded by the dragonskull flag of Roggar he feels pride.
This is what he is fighting for.
This is what the Sacrifice is for.
For his people.
He still remembers the bull...

The enemy was not fooled into falling for our trap - they kept pace at a safe distance while their most mobile forces harried our stragglers. This continued for an entire day until they let go of the pursuit.

The Battle has ended without a decisive victory for either side.

We've got 37 000 troops left, while the enemy has 48 000. Our troops are tired and we've fallen back to Suchki where we'll rest up.

Reports are coming in now - from the centaur front and the Paitran front respectively

A.Send envoys to speak with the Barbarian King - he's losing ground on all fronts, we can end the war now.

Since the Duke is missing for now, I must change leader until I am found
>>
The Barbarian King has permitted envoys from our side to come to Kresnom.
Here's some offers we could give:
A.We take the river valley up to the minotaur mountains, the centaurs take the steppes and the Paitrans take some of the borderlands
B.We take everything up to and including the minotaur lands, the centaurs take the steppes, the Paitrans take most of the lands north of Kresnom
C.Propose White Peace
D.Other

>A.We take the river valley up to the minotaur mountains, the centaurs take the steppes and the Paitrans take some of the borderlands
This is fair based on the amount of war effort each nation has given.

The Mighty has agreed to this peace settlement - King Lurser rules over the steppes, while Roggar and Paitras take over some borderlands. No reparations towards either side and a 10-year peace treaty.

This war has been a success, overall. Our army heads home and our men are welcomed as heroes in Dragonstomb.

The Barbarian Crusade of 357 is over, we're back just in time to catch part of the harvest!

For tonight, our story ends. I might be back in several days - I will be moving to another city tomorrow.
I will check out the discord and announce my next session on https://twitter.com/conannister probably. Until then, have a good time, everyone.

Cornelius was there in the great battle.
Never had he seen such slaughter.
Of all the his old friends he was the last, he walked away from the battlefield heavily wounded before collapsing from exhaustion.
He awoke hours later in the aftermath of the battle, both sides had left the field and it was upon himself to walk the long walk back to the main Roggarion army.
He saw many things on that battlefield, many horrid things.
A day of walking later and he caught up with the main army, hearing that a victory had been declared by the alliance.
With a heavy heart Cornelius picks up his pen, hopping to finish his book.

Good news, tribute with the Norse have been halved and I made us have peace for longer amount of time with the Norse.

Right now I will say the relations with Roggar and the Norse are the best they been in over 100 years.

“Frederick Wemder grew up like most living in the Kingdom of Roggar. Into a poor family, with the mother taking care of the home while the father worked to provide for the family. Frederick was supposed to follow in his father’s footsteps and work the same land that his father worked and his father before him and so on until the bloodline ends. That just didn’t sit with Frederick. He felt this need that he was meant for something greater, not just a simple peasant. Thankfully the state taught him to read and write, but his mother went farther than that. She gave him studies from old Monasteries across the kingdom. About Philosophy, the human nature, and life itself, and Frederick really. One day at the age of 20 while sitting under an old Oak tree, an idea came to Frederick. Not just a simple Eureka moment, but thousands of little ideas came flooding in. He rushed home to write down every little idea that came to him. After what seemed like days, he read what he wrote. It looked like ramblings to anyone else, but to him, it was a new way to govern. The power was not on a chosen Prince or General born in wealth, but the common man. Frederick knew this was what he was meant for, spreading this new idea. He gathered what little belongings he had and traveled to Centerhold. There he went to the market district and talked to the common man, spouting these ideas that could get him locked up. It wasn’t soon before talk spread around the city and beyond. A revolutionary idea has been planted in the minds of the citizens.”

Magic faction in Centerhold, that focus on magic and was a side goal of making a republic. With this new faction people flocked to Centerhold, making it a bigger trading hub and increase the size and beauty of the temple of Drana, which is used as a base for Frederick as he learned and grows magic within it's walls

Welcome to the Civ. You've put down a name for your leader and given him some background information - excellent! You've got the green light, but please also elaborate on what your faction itself is called. Your faction is based in Centerhold, part of Duke Godric's domain.

You may freely negotiate with him on your position within the city.

In other news, I've settled down in Sofia, I'll have a stable wi-fi conneciton on Tuesday and will be able to host threads at some point after that. I am on Discord and I'm doing mini-quests now, at least one a day. You can ask questions and partake in bantz there.

Alright. I'mm on the discord already. My faction is called the Peoples Republic of Centerhold. I've already talked to Duke Godric and I am going to become his vassal, so having control of Centerhold.

There is no Iron military academy in Centerhold. There are no Whitevaynes in thr Godric Dukeship. So take you Iron Legion bullshit out of there.

A deal has been made between the the Dragon fists and the Rangers of Roggar. The Rangers receive a number of the Dragon Fists familys unique dire wolfs that they have tamed so we may train them to suit our purposes. In exchange, the Dragon Fists received a payment of cash from my organization.
>>
The Godric made a deal with Dragonfist and get some dire wolves in in exchange of money. Great smiles all around, a jar Mead and Honey for the Dragonfist family.
