Hi hi
Sorry guys but im, going to be back in a bit. Meanwhile, lets check...

We are going to check if we can feed Fleur with the [ERROR]s we have captured, right?

Keep dungeon diving.

That's it, right? you want to FF a little, or maybe have a special on someone? Aritsu, Stella, Zoe, or someone else?

I like this bow, makes me think og something Okaba would make...
>>
>>507074
>We are going to check if we can feed Fleur with the [ERROR]s we have captured, right?
No.
We were going to wait for the meeting with the Lady on whether consuming ERROR bodies would affect the people that were taken by the ERRORs in some way, before doing feeding experiments.
Unless you remember something about that the Lady already told us about when we last met her.
>>
>>507086
this will be fine
>>507074
special on Aritsu, Stella or Zoe could be fun
>>
>>507074
Instead of Fast Forwarding, shouldn't Eldric be doing his job as Duke and leader of the Imperial invasion of Alquia by pumping Alonso for information and sending agents into the Alquian Empire for intel on their military and weapons technology?
Are we/Eldric so stupid that we won't send spies into a nation we're going to invade when we know that they've got someone smart enough to develop magitech turbine engines?
>>
>>507132
>Instead of Fast Forwarding, shouldn't Eldric be doing his job as Duke and leader of the Imperial invasion of Alquia by pumping Alonso for information and sending agents into the Alquian Empire for intel on their military and weapons technology?

I assume the general Li already did that. Also, we can't expect huge improvements in two days. There's not much choice but to FF at least a week, I think

But about sending spies, that's a pretty good idea. We should probably ask Ren or general Li about that. The general im pretty sure has some spies over there.

So, mostly a special but also talking with the general and going over spy reports?
>>
>>507181
>but also talking with the general and going over spy reports?
As well as talking with Alonso on who we can recruit as spies once they learn that we're working for the Heavenly Empire.

>we can't expect huge improvements in two days.
Is that supposed to refer to Eldric and how he can't shake off the sloth and laziness of nearly ten years of players wanting to dick around in the starter areas instead of doing end-game raid content solo like Grandpa or at least doing end-game dungeon runs with one or two others like Stella and Zoe?

But Alonso isnt "human" anymore, though... wont he stand out a lot if we send him to spy?

Oh i thought you were meaning about asking at the shipyards if any ship had been made in the 4 days since we gave the order, and stuff like that.

Well, I guess we could kill two birds with one stone and have Eldric pick up Stella and/or Zoe to go do high level dungeons. I think it would be interesting to do that from the POV of a party member other than Eldric, though.

So, who would you like to take along? since we are going to high level dungeons, I assume our end game party? Lyann, Aritsu, Mako and us make four. Do you wanna include a pet? do you want to include Zoe and/or Stella?
>>
>>507228
>But Alonso isnt "human" anymore, though... wont he stand out a lot if we send him to spy?
He will if we send him to spy; I mean asking him who the movers and shakers of Alquian Empire politics are, and of people in the military, politics, and civil life that he knows who will be susceptible to our attempts to make into our spies.

>going to high level dungeons
We had started doing that with just our Pets in order to grind XP while everyone else sleeps.

If we're doing a regular dungeon run with the others, then we could do Lyann, Aritsu, Mako, Miel, and Kya for a World Leaders group so that Kya can see the kind of level grinding that Okaba went through.

Lyann, Aritsu, Mako, Zoe, Stella for a family group.

For Eldric's regular grinding, I'd like to rotate all of the Pets, including the Harpies, with a focus on Fleur, Aurora, and Kiriani to get their Loyalty up and for the succubi's Slave class to reach 100 and get Scion unlocked.

Not quite. Since Aurora and Anjani (I know i butchered her name, just keep foegetting it) were level 1, we were leveling them up in a low dungeon first, then a mid level one, and had just taken them to a high level area for the first time when we got Fleur.

Alright let's see...

"Yes!" -cries out Dawn happily as we ask her to come with us on a dungeon dive.

"Is it really that big a thing?"
"I always wanted to go, but you only kept inviting shorty and the pointy ears girl! True, you are marrying one, and the other barely gets any stage time, but even so... even so!" -says Dawn in an overly dramatic way as she holds her hands before herself
"Hey!" -complains Honoria
"..." -Aritsu decides to say nothing

Kya looks at Dawn, then back at us.

"Is it that big of a thing?" -asks the winged princess
"I was being left out!" -says Dawn while looking as if she had been bullied.

*sigh*

"There, there. You want to come along, right?" - we rub her head a little
"Yes! oh and don't rub my horn like that, I'll get horny."

We lift our hand away

"Your jokes are terrible." -Kia sighs
"No, I mean it, it'll stimulate them to grow, you know? they're already inconvenient..."

We look at Dusk, Kya's bodyguard/maid succubus, for confirmation.

"...it's not that bad." -she says softly

So... it's a little bit annoying?
Which is it?

*cough* "Anyway, Kya, Honoria, and Dawn, would you like to come along?"

The girls all agreed to it happily.

"I'd love, to go!" -says Ren with a smile and what probably passes for a gutsy pose in these parts of the world.

General Li sighs and shakes his head with dissaprocal, but Ren has been working dilligently for many days in a row, so a 'rest' will be good.

Probably

"Well, let's do a local dungeon. But I'm hoping to grind some, so it has to be a high level one." -we explain
"Grind?"
"It means we will throw monsters into a mill and grind them into experience.. It's just a manner of speech."
"Oh! Let's, grind them!" - says Ren enthusiastically

That's why, a little under an hour later, we are standing in Mantequira city's Adventurer's guild hall, so we can buy a teleport keystone for as deep a level as possible.

This isn't as easy as it should be.

Since Ren's policy changes about the Moon day, citizens can go to her at any day during the year, rather than only on a specific holyday, so she (and Mako) are now surprisingly easy to recognize in the capital.

As soon as we walked in, our group drew attention.

We have, after all, a mythical dwarf with us.
A majin princess
And the empress look-alike

Of course, we are saying she just looks like her, but it doesn't seems to have been bought by the locals.

"You may, rise now!" - declares the young empress-to-be. As she stands on tiptoes to try and look taller.

She's already wearing gita sandals, you know? I don't think it will help much.

Honestly, I don't think they're short... she and Mako are just the perfect, lovable-girl height, you know?

In the future, though, let's have her wear a mask if we try this again.

By the way, she's wearing a really cute and fantasy-like armor over her clothes.. I guess we should say "as expected of this world"?

"We have need, for a keystone!" -she says
"Yes, your highness!" -the clerk sure is good at picking up the pace...

Thus, we easily cut in line ahead of 20+ people and get the stone we needed... I don't think it could be helped. Please don't resent us.

I'm a little worried about the fact that she keeps walking around without minding her spear... she's almost cut people with it several times already.

"Ah, how deep goes the deeper keystone?"
"That would be floor... 304. It was reached shortly after the foundation of the Adventurer's Guild and the implementation of the keystone system, but that was a long time ago."

"But..." -the clerk looks at your group- "I..."
"Please do, as the duke says." -says Ren gently
"Yes!"

So, we got the keystone...
...this isn't too much, right?

We are pretty high level. Ren is surprisingly high level, too. We exceed level 300 with ease.

It's just that, not all of us do, and we haven't worked as a team before.

Howdy

***

Honoria slashed with her axe's edge at the monster, inflicting a critical wound.

Her [Skill] triggered, and she automatically poured mana into a [Spell], attacking the [Ogre Bishop] and making it stumble, which finally placed its neck within reach of next blow.

With her [Skill] to cast a spell whenever she delivered a critical hit, and to swing another attack whenever a spell was a critical success, she mowed down the monsters next to her in a few moments.

Yet, her reach was limited only to melee foes. Or rather, since she could only use her free spells on the same foe that received a critical attack, she couldnt distribute them freely around the battlefield.

Still, it was quite impressive to see the petite fighter run up to a monster, and reduce it to tears and whines in the space of a few seconds.

"Honoria, don't run ahead!" - complained Kya as a lv 211 [Ogre Knight] stepped through the hole in the formation created thanks to Honoria's excited charge, and took a swing at her.

The white-winged brown beauty did her best to blow the ogre knight's greatsword with her staff, but still took some damage, losing her concentration, thus fizzling her spell.

She could open her wings and pull herself back, but that would deepen the hole in the group's defense and allow the [Ogre Knight] to reach Aritsu behind her.

"Mine!" - As if with ideal timing, Dawn appeared next to the monster, her short sword already deeply sunk on it's armpit, taking advantage of the posture it was in while swinging its sword with both hands.

Well, we mostly just let Dawn go around and do whatever after deciding she wasn't much use in the front or back.

She's not a tank, nor is she a ranged attacker, after all.

Dawn had a huge grin as she started stabbing over and over in the ogre's open wound, as fast as she could, taking the huge brute down in a few moments.

Currently, the front line is Honoria, Ren and us. In the second line are Kya and Aritsu, so they can focus on healing and supporting.

Dawn is sort of a wildcard, as she happens to have [Feydakin] as class, making her best at quickly taking out a target, then dissapearing and going for another.

>Tell Kya not to whine so much. Honoria probably knew that Dawn would help since she wasn't visible at the moment.

Uhmm... she's not really a tank, though she's melee, she's more of a melee dps, same as Ren.

We're the only one that is tank-ish. If we want an actual tank, we need to bring along Lyann, or summon the Blue Harpy of Happiness (we did give her a name, right?). Both of them have actual aggro skills and tank by becoming dodge monkeys.

Aura would be a good tank, too. She too has actual tank skills... yeah, in our current group, we don't have anyone with aggro skills, actually.

***

"Honoria, you'll get surrounded, so come back!" -we call out as we slash at the [Pgre Knight] before us and try to move towards Ren's side so we sort-of-maybe make it harder for the monsters to walk past us towards Kya and Aritsu.

"That's fine, that just means I can attack in any direction!" - cries out the blonde dwarf.

Dwarves aren't such a undisciplined existence, right? it's just her. I think

"Honoria, you are letting monsters reach the back!" - well, we didn't want to point it out, but seems like we have to, after all.

The enthusiastic dwarf princess reacts as if we had karate-chipped her head, and starts moving back towards us.

She pulled a large number of ogres... thankfully, Aritsu summoned two large metal walls which, in this wide floor, created a bottleneck, limiting the number of ogres that can actually swing at us.

Well, they can attack the walls, but our super efficient secretary (she's a princess, though?) is pretty good at all ways of soft cc, you know? the walls are surprisingly sturdy, so its way faster for the ogres to just try and go around than through them.

As for Ren, she uses a very long spear with a blade at the tip... I think it was called a naginata, though since the Empire is Not!China, it probably has a different name.

The young empress is quite good at hitting the ogre's weakspots, putting them off-balance, and keeping them that way, toying with them and having them get in each other's way.

Well, they're so large that her reach advantage is mostly gone, though, so it maybe just looks easy, I think.

Well, right now she's using mostly thrusts and up-down swings, but that weapon is meant to make wide, ample sweeping motions and control the space around the user, right?

In a way, I think it would be best if she and Honoria could switch places, you see. I get the feeling that Ren would be fine on her own, while Honoria's heavier armor and shield would be more useful next to us than in the middle of the ogres.

Btw, Ren spear is called a guandao, just throwing that out there

From wikipedia

A guandao is a type of Chinese pole weapon that is used in some forms of Chinese martial arts. In Chinese, it is properly called a yanyuedao (偃月刀; lit. "reclining moon blade"), the name under which it always appears in texts from the Song to Qing dynasties such as the Wujing Zongyao and Huangchao Liqi Tushi. It is comparable to a European fauchard or glaive and consists of a heavy blade with a spike at the back and sometimes also a notch at the spike's upper base that can catch an opponent's weapon

The blade is mounted atop a 1.5 m to 1.8 m (5–6 foot) long wooden or metal pole with a pointed metal counter weight used to balance the heavy blade and for striking on the opposite end.

On modern versions, a red sash or tassel is attached at the joint of the pole and blade. Variations include having rings along the length of the straight back edge as found in the nine-ring guandao, having the tip curl into a rounded spiral as in the elephant guandao, or featuring a more ornate design as exemplified by the dragon head guandao.

Also, the pic in >>509362 is actually accurate, as far as the spear goes... which is rather surprising

>>Have Ren step ahead and switch with Honoria

"When Honoria comes back, try stepping ahead." - we cry out towards Ren as we block a ogre knight's massice sword and stab back.

Sometimes, it feels as if the world isn't quite RPG enough, since everyone acts at the same time rather than in turns, but then again, it would be scary having to stand still during your opponent's turn, wouldn't it?

"Yes! I, will!" - says the black-haired beauty as she slices off an ogre's throat and pushes him back against two more.

Indeed, Honoria comes back, and we step back a little bit, causing our group to sink deeper towards the tight end of the V (formed by Aritsu's metal walls), while Ren walks forth.

Uhnn... she's a [Emerging Dragon]... uh? is that a secret job?

Should I say "as expected from the Imperial Heir, or should I complain that Mako doesn't has it?

It's not a Dragoon, right? she's not gonna jump up and dissappear, then land in someone's head... right?

To begin with, there's a roof. Obviously
Because this is a dungeon.

Ah! she jumped! she actually jumped! I want to retort at whoever came up with this job!

"Copyright infringement!"

Or something like that.

But thankfully, she didn't dissapear into the sky, she just jumped to get past the ogres.

It was a rather amazing jump, nonetheless. I think I saw her spear's staff bend for a moment, but... it's a metal pole, you know?

Something as girlish as a light wooden pole... is nowhere in sight.

Ah, sorry, come think of it, Kya uses a wooden staff. But I'm not gonna say anything about it to her.

Ren somehow sunk the end of her spear into the ground's rocks, and bend it (her str score has to be pretty high, uh?) to use it as a catapult so she could throw herself into the air.

All of my physics want to retort that she had no leverage... but let's not. Looking carefully, you can see a sort of deep empty slot on the stone ground, which has the perfect shape for the "sole" of her wooden gita sandals, but... I don't wanna go into "that's wood, and that's rock" argument because equipment tiers, right?

Equipment tiers.

I'm pretty sure her [Legendary][Angel Sandals] are meant to be much tougher than run-of-the-mill ground, regardless of that ground being sand or rock, you see?

She spun in mid air as she flew. You'd think the strenght of her pole jump caused her to spin, but it's more like, she forced it so she could swing her spear around while she was in mid air.

Landing in a clear spot and swinging her spear around... didn't happen. She aimed for the chest of a [Ogre Bishop] and landed spear-head first on it, while still spinning.

That's quite the impressive hole in the [Pgre Bishop]'s chest.
Are they fashionable? I'm asking because all of a sudden, there's two more holes in two more ogre chests, you know?

As expected, now that she can swing her spear (it's a guandao, though!) freely in any way she wants, it's doing a lot more than when she was restricted to stabbing and up-down sings.

Well, if all your foe can do is just thrusts and up-down swings, even a slime would figure out that attack pattern, right?

So, she's much more efficient when fighting solo, but, I get the feeling that sending the empress alone to the front is placing the horse before the cart.

Is not "she's really good when she's alone, so let's have her do that". It's more like "she's not meant to fight alone. She's not meant to fight at all! ...but if for any reason she ends up away from her guards and troops, she can fight on her way back to them."

Something like that.

I think.

>It's fine, it's fine. Right now, she's our party member, so let's make the best use of her abilities that we can.

"Ritsu, please focus on supporting Ren from afar! Dawn, don't get too close, you may get hit by a spear (it's called a guandao, though!) swing!"
"y-Yes!"
"Oh, you have a pet name, now! so cute!" -says Dawn with a girly, slightly higher-pitch-than-usual tone

Aritsu blushes brightly, but doesn't says anything. She focuses and creates several metal obstacles in a circle around Ren, far away enough from her that they don't get in the way of her wide swings, but at the right distance to get in the ogre's patch when they try to dodge or retreat.

"Oh, that's a good idea..." - Ren swings her spear (is a guandao. though?) in a wide circle to make some room for herself, then creates a metal plate to act as floor, full of two inches long, sharp spikes with serrated edges sliding down their sides.

Some are curved, some are straight. It looks as if a single misstep would have horrible consequences... besides, since the 'wall' is resting on the floor, it's permanent.

Well, metal spells were originally her family's personal magic, remember? Mako taught it to us and we taught it to Aritsu, so of course she would be good at it, but... why?

Ooooh! as she walks around on her gita, it quickly makes sense. Her sandals have two long wooden 'spikes' of their own, just long enough that as she walks around on the metal plate, all the spikes fail to reach her feet.

She's cheating in a grand manner, uh? making the field into one that gives her a huge advantage. Now the ogres are barely moving, since they have to be careful of where they step.

Well, because of their stats, I douibt it will give them serious, life.endangering wounds, but a living creature's instincts warn it against danger and pain, so it can't be helped.

Even if the spikes only did 1 damage each, you wouldn't want to step on it and watch it torn the sole of your feet to shreds, right?

Well, it would probably not work against undead or golems, but against these foes, it's good enough.

Uh... having said that, precisely because they're neither undead nor golems, the ogres are simply not going towards her any more....

"Ren, stay there!" -we call out, stopping the young empress as she was getting ready to jump into a new group of ogres
"Ah!" -she loses balance for a moment, since she had to kill her momentum to avoid being thrown up into the air... well, she was using her spear (is called a guandao, though) as a pole again...

Well, the ogres were all too far to take advantage of it, so it ended as a cute sketch of a pretty girl going "tata ta!" as she bend forth and gave a few off steps while grabbing her balance back.

"Alright, Duke." -she starts casting by using her spear (is a guandao, though) as a staff.

'So it has that use too' - is what we think.

Now that Honoria is back, we tighten our positions and manage to finish off the ogres.

"Alright, from now on..."

>Ren, you fight ahead, and the rest of you stay together, alright? Dawn, just don't get in anyone's way and help as needed.

"""""Alright."""""

The girls are fine with it, so we start moving ahead in a measured and safe traditional way. The floors under the 200th floor begin growing more and more distanced from the typical dungeon with mazes and tight hallways...

And it becomes painfully obvious when we reach the floor 230.

Every 10 floors, there's a boss fight. You can also take the chance to use your [Keystone] after the boss room, so you can easily go back to that spot in the future.

The boss fight in floor 230, though...

As we step into the floor, we see several mirrors, each in a different color, and several discs of light on the floor. Each in a matching color.

Looking around the room, there's very little other than the entrance stairs, the exit (which is, unsurprisingly, blocked right now), and a large metal orb on the roof.

If I have to dig out everyone's stats, this is gonna take a long time...

Ren - early 400s - mostly caster and melee jobs
Eldric - very late 300s - grab bag of every job for noble and villager, plus some nomad
Aritsu - late 300s - noble and nomad jobs
Dawn - mid 200s - slave and noble jobs
Honoria - early to mid 200s - noble and villager jobs

"Princess, could you try out the orange light?"
"..."

Kya blinks a few times, somewhat surprised. She expected Eldric to do it himself, but then, when thinking about it, she guesses that they're sending her ahead in case it copies her.

Well, she knows she's probably the weakest in the group, so it makes sense.

She's a smart young woman, and very practical, so she doesn't take offense about this.

"Alright.... you'll raise me if needed, right?" -she asks after making a brief pause
"Obviously."

She nods, and steps ahead.

As expected(?), after a few moments, a copy of the princess walks forth.

The copy's skin is deathly pale, but she (it?) looks quite strong. While the princess is a smart university student with a refined education, the copy is clearly a brute who uses its staff as a weapon rather than a casting medium.

Right away, we attack the copy, but despite raining blows on it, fail to hurt it, while it moves straight towards Aritsu and starts attacking her with its staff, ignoring everyone else.

It seems completely immune to direct debuffs, attacks, and cc effects, simply ignoring them and continuing to attack Aritsu.

As we continue trying to attack it, it simply ignores us.

"Ah!"

Finally, it looks like one of Kya's spells hurted the clone. Or rather, only her attacks had any effect at all, but among the barrage from everyone, it hadn't been noticed before.

We do our best to protect Aritsu while Kya attacks the clone, but despite having her appearance, the clone seems to be much tougher than Kya herself, and its attacks are enough to chip at our hp as we try to defend Aritsu.

After a while, she does eventually manage to take down the clone, and the door to the next floor opens up.

And take into account that you can get really good loot if every party member fights and beats his or her copy.

Well, we are moving on after just one fight so we aren't getting anything right now, though.

I guess someone may point it out, sort of like "where's the loot?". This is a high enough floor that loot is actually great, useful, or not bad, depending on who gets it.

Eldric drags world leaders along into a dungeon of mirrors, and beats up their lookalikes.
>>
>>521256
That seems good.

***

"Well, let's come back later and try the boss fight again." -says Eldric as he guides the ladies to the next floor.

As soon as we descend down the ample stairs, we notice the change in the structure.

From a rough stone and mortar tunnel, it changes to carefully polished white stone walls and marble floors.

The light comes from fluorescent dust that seems to be trapped in very clear and obvious air current near the upper corners of the walls, flowing as quickly as a giant's bloodstream into the distance, and turning on the corners, giving the place plenty of light, albeit as soon as we move at faster than walking speed, a problem becomes apparent.

The wind currents we create, disturb the air flow, and cause the dust to fly everywhere, sticking to moving objects. In this case, that's us.

As the dust sticks to us, we get a debuff notification:

[Glitterdust]

And icon appears in the left upper corner of our field of view. Focusing on it, we can see that it is impossible to use [Stealth[ abilities while affected by [Glitterdust], and our defenses are all reduced by 33%.

Well... it mostly affects Dawn, doesn't it?

"Uuuh... can someone purge it off me, please?" -asks the strawberry-colored succubus
"Allow me."

Kya immediately cleanses it off the horny succubus, but the cleansing effect fails, for some reason.

This is reducing everyone's defense by 33%.
At this level we can't be complacent anymore; not only are Aritsu, Kya, Honoria, and Dawn much lower level than us and therefore at much greater risk, but we started to lose HP ourselves.

I was thinking about the instanced dungeon thing: since people get party notifications, what if certain very, very old dungeons allow for multiple full parties to queue up, and then every gets a notification asking them if they wish to become a Raid?

The dungeon underneath the Lightbringer Keep comes to mind as a Raid dungeon, but you have to arrive at a certain place with a certain number of full parties before the Raid system sends out the notification.

You know what I hated of Silkroad Online? the dick support. I was banned because I didnt want to leave a farming spot to a guy that said he was a GM and was playing a secondary character.

But, the game was fucking awesome because of several things, including:

* No classes, you could raise any skills you wanted, so you really got to see the results of your grinding and planning ahead.
* Monsters got stronger the more people was in your party, up to the point where bosses began spawning.

Maybe we should talk to the Lady about using that system to let people make bigger parties. Over 6 people, every monster is x3 tougher and gives x3 more drops and exp.

Over 12 ppl, every fourth party monster is a miniboss instead.

What do you think? it would only affect those in large parties, so it wouldnt be immediately obvious since people are so used to 6-ppl parties

"Uhmm..."

We try with a wind spell, creating a weak windwall for her to step through, with the idea that it will pull the dust away.

It mostly works, so we have her go through it several times until she's clean, but... the dust tends to float down whenever we make rapid movements, so its a never ending problem.

Specifically, it sticks mostly to metallic things.

"That's really bothersome" -sighs Dawn as she looks at the shiny dust on herself.

Is it a static problem?

"Try using a non-metallic weapon. Also, try taking off anything metallic you may be carrying."
"I don't have any non-metal weapons, you know? aren't those quite rare?" -asks the strawberry succubus

Seems good... but remember most people can't see those. I guess things wouldnt change for most people.

Totally unrelated, but I got an idea for a LN, and wanna hear opinions. How about someone being transmigrated to a body, but can't actually possess the body, and its sort of a spirit watching over the body from a 3rd person perspective?

The "body" can't talk because we aren't inside it, but MC can manipulate it like a puppet with increasing-over-time skill.

Would it be more interesting if the spirit and the body were of different genders, eplaining why "the shoe won't fit", or if there's some other reason for it?

There might be some confusion when someone first accidentally adds a person over the 6-person limit and it works. Though it might lead to a TPK because they didn't realize that monsters also consequently became much harder.

Well the idea was that the new soul is lured in due to a failed resurrection spell luring in a previous life, but I think that's interesting too... but what would be the reason such a thing happened... I guess it would work with the "wrong gender body" angel?
>>
>>521605
>I guess it would work with the "wrong gender body" angel
I don't know how that would work when we do have real life examples of this kind of situation, from people's brain chemistry not matching up with their developed sexual characteristics, to chromosomes not matching what's developed and expressed by their genes, to doctors just plain messing up and cutting off the wrong body part at birth. And then there's the weird case of improper development due to hormone deficiency caused by an inherited genetic defect.

I got this idea lastnight while sleeping (yeah I do the lucid dreaming thing)... How about elves do a rite to summon a guardian spirit to take care of a child in a coma?

The child is in a coma, and the elves dont have the means to wake it up, nor can they afford to take care of it.

Maybe the child is an orphan?

Otherwise, I was thinking... the HERO OF DESTINY(tm) is braindead because of an accident during childhood, and its guardian angel has to step up.

I think it may be more interesting if it was three guardian angels instead. Because HERO OF DESTINY(tm) had three guardian angels because why not?

Since s/he or they fucked up and the child ended up braindead, s/he or they have to step up and take over. What do you think?

Yeah, I was thinking of a heavenly bureaucracy, a la exalted. Then again that's sort of stolen from chinese myth (and probably dragon ball, though they stole it from chinese folklore too)

Im just not sure if there should be spreadsheets available with info for the angel/s to check. Should there be character sheets?

Should they be able to see no, little, or lots of info about the hero they're rising? something as detailed as "s/he had 1250 calories today, s/he needs to keep working out still!" and "s/he is not getting enough calcium and fats, you know? you can't just work out and eat nothing but protein, s/he needs some fats too!" and "don't forget about vitamins!"

Or maybe just a simpler hp and mp bars system?

I think it would be interesting to see them argue about the hero's schedule... did you ever play princess maker? im thinking of something like that, at least.

Study would be a problem, obviously, but they can at least cultivate the body wonderfully.
>>

Information in bars, more detailed than just hp/mp.
Sonething like a Princess Maker screen. It would normally be more detailed, but the spirit in charge isn't that good and so needs things dumbed down.
