Incidents at an Orphanage - 4The deities you revere, in as much as you can manage to do so, are pretty basic, largely unconcerned deities. The Goddess is life, love, existence, pain, beauty and envy, all rolled up into one. The God is death, power, grace, the end of suffering, and lust. You're pretty sure they're both laughing their asses off at you. Mostly because right now, you're pretending to seduce a demon haunted sorceress who tried to pretend she was your girlfriend and whom you need to take out of the picture before she fucks up your friends, you, or gets the horrible things that live in the basement the opportunity to do the same sort of shit. And she is seriously fucked in the head, which is saying something for someone who is in the Edgewood Home for Troubled Children.Seriously. Fucked. In. The. Head. You're half naked in front of her, unbuttoning her blouse as she stares at you, her usually permanent and utterly fake smile transformed into the soft moue of an 'o' of disbelief and deep and inescapable horror. The latter is a fixture, unfortunately, and is usually hidden by her mask-like expression. A lot of the disbelief comes from the fact you reacted so badly to her nearly successful attempt to seduce you while looking like Shauna. If she had not used a different hair product and body wash than Shauna, whom you were cuddling with mere hours before, you might have bought it.Who knows what would have happened then. You don't want to find out.The one - and possibly only - reassuring thing about this entire situation is that you have no urge to either have sex with Priscilla (who makes your skin crawl just by being in the room) or to eat her (as in feast upon her soft flesh). Despite these facts, you're managing to not tremble, shake, vomit, or otherwise express the horror you feel at touching the slender young woman whose smile is slowly returning, her bleak, soulless gaze and fixed smile hiding that traumatized and horror filled look that she has. With a smile on your face you part her blouse, baring small breasts hidden by surprisingly pretty black lace and satin.
It is with a warm, eager smile you slowly slide her blouse off of her arms and drop it to the floor of the attic you are both sequestered within. you pull her close and slide your hands up to her neck, then down her back as you embrace her, you lean, toned body pressed against her sallow, sickly frame. What you are searching for, you can't feel: a mark, a wound, something that marks her as belonging to whatever demon or spirit that rides her body and gives her real magic. She's alwso as strong or maybe even stronger than you are, which is terrifying. Your talents aren't anything like what she can pull off, and if you fuck this up....Well, you need to not fuck this up.As her hands slide around your waist you feel her pull closer, and sigh softly, your warmth and the tenderness of your embrace making her feel safe, protected, maybe even loved. It makes you feel like doing the heebie-jeebie dance and screaming like Bethany does. Welp, in for a penny....time to lose that long skirt of hers. Nope, nope, nope, nope. You're done. Just beat her senseless and find that mark. Step back and let her undress for you. You'll have to do the same of course.... Write in:

>>2012718>[x] Welp, in for a penny....time to lose that long skirt of hers.
>>2012718I think I lost track of why this is happening. On Hekah's part, why does finding the mark matter? Also does she know enough about sorcerers to know whether or not she'd definitely be able to become aware of the mark by touch alone? On Priscilla's why the fuck is she doing this shit now, Hekah thought that Priscilla might want to ally herself with the vampire but I'm not sure how much of that was insight or instinctual revulsion. It's also kind of surprising that either the Hag or Human in Hekah is very repulsed by Priscilla, but Priscilla seems drawn to Hekah in what
>>2012741Last two posts in the previous thread explains it all, really. However, tl;dr: Priscilla looking like Shauna tried to seduce Hekah, Hekah got mad at her, Priscilla said Hekah needed her to defeat the demon, Hekah thinks that there is a mark or some link to her patron on her body, and she needs to find it....and she has no idea what she will do if she actually finds it. Her gut instincts are freakign her out, but there's a little voice that says she needs to do this. So, Hekah is trying to steal her power so she doesn't side with the vampire and get people killed.
>>2012718> Welp, in for a penny....time to lose that long skirt of hers. While part of me is worried that her mark is already exposed and we just can't see it, I guess as long as Hekah can manage it, it's better to keep Priscilla off balance?>>2012749See I had no idea stealing Priscilla's power was an option. Or even remotely desirable.
>>2012757Steal, remove, take away - all the same to Hekah (even if not to anon). She's only 16.
>>2012718> Welp, in for a penny....time to lose that long skirt of hers.
>>2012764I guess what I'm wondering is, can the power be replaced?Like, I can't really parse any other meaning behind>She's lying. She needs the vampire to kill you. The bigger and badder the monster the more she needs it.That the shit she's on isn't good enough, and she needs a stronger hit which apparantly the vampire might be vaguely defined enough to meet her criteria.
[X] Welp, in for a penny....time to lose that long skirt of hers.Swallowing your revulsion, you slide your hands down, and she stiffens as you take the hem of her skirt and slide your fingers from the back to either side. When you reach the left side, and feel the zipper, you lean back a little, your breasts rubbing the tops of hers. She's shorter than you thought she was, or she seems taller when she's not close to you. Frankly, it could be either. You never get this close to her if you can help it. Her blank gaze and painted on smile gives you the willies, but you continue to smile back, a warm, gentle smile as you slowly crouch before her.Unzipping her skirt, you look up at her as she half covers her breasts, blushing not at all. Keeping your eyes on hers you slide her skirt down, deliberately forcing yourself to take it slow, do it nicely. Crimson catches your eye as you lower her skirt to her ankles, and you gasp softly. "God, Priscilla, does that hurt?"Her upper thigh is marked deeply, a strange, half bird, half man symbol you haven't seen before, and wish you really hadn't seen now. It's carved deep into her flesh, right down to the raw meat of her thigh muscle, and yet isn't oozing, bleeding, or showing any sign of scabbing over. It looks awful, and very fresh, yet she shows no discomfort or pain as she looks down at you looking at the mark."It doesn't hurt at all; that's so sweet of you to ask....you can touch it if you want." The very idea of that makes your gorge rise, and you have to work hard at keeping your expression worried, concerned, safe. The mark of Salaah, She Who Entices Into Woods. Not powerful, but very dangerous to the innocent and unsuspecting. You have to remove it. Your heart sinks, and you look up at Priscilla, who is very creepily watching you, eagerly watching you. She wants you to touch it very badly, and that makes you want to touch it even less. "Are you sure?" you ask softly, watching her pupils dilate in the dark."Oh yes," she breathes, her voice more similar to the one she used when she was trying to seduce you after you flipped out.You can't just mar it or scratch it, the voice you are now certain isn't your own says. You have to excise it. All of it, as quickly as you can. If you try, the demon is going to become angry, and that will make her dangerous. As if she weren't dangerous enough being stronger than you and having weird powers. If you say the demon's name once - and only once - you will startle it, and that may give you another chance. Say it again and it's as bad as if you do what she's asking.Wonderful. You're REALLY going to listen to voices inside your head? Are you crazy? >>2012787> ....well, if she were lying down and you had your hands there....Goddess, you're going to have to seduce her more.I guess I want to get more words out of Priscilla first, because I'm not sure I trust a story I only know one side of, especially when that other side is some entity in our head. Though unfortunately Priscilla is dangerous enough that we can't really threaten her without almost-immediate retaliation.
Rolled 97 (1d100)A point of mere curiosity.
[X] In for a pound, and this time it's all flesh: tear the mark out of her body.It occurs to you that you're hearing voices and starting to discuss things with them, albeit only a little. But you have to play surgeon now, and you're not talking about merely cutting this open, unhealed, unnaturally clean wound out of Priscilla's thigh, but about excising evil from your home. You smile up beatifically at Priscilla, and she is breathing a little faster, as though you're about to do something sexual to her rather than touch her living flesh through an open wound. You've heard some of Kit's boyfriends talk about women's sex-parts like that, but this is far past fetish and into pure evil. With a final shy smile, you turn your attention to the wound and slowly place your nails around it, lightly scratching her soft, pale skin, making her shiver. She hasn't started shaving regularly, there's fine black down that makes her shiver again when you tickle it. You circle the wound with your fingernails, seeing how big a chunk you're going to have to take out of her leg. It's not a huge wound or mark, but it's big enough you're going to really hurt her."Tease," she accuses in a coy, breathy voice that doesn't sound like her own."Maybe a little," you reply, looking up at her with one last smile....before you sink your nails into her leg and dig under the open wound, freshets of crimson spilling down her leg. Priscilla gapes at you, utter disbelief in her expression; even the terrorized, haunted look is wiped clean away by the absolute shock on her face. You dig deep and twist, tearing into her thigh, and she shrieks. Immediately every single cat in the room yowls and cries out and caterwauls, a cacophony of absolute feline insanity as they run here and there, crashing into things, knocking things down, and otherwise covering up her noise with their noise.
"YOU FUCKING BITCH!" she growls, her voice not even remotely human. You dig deeper, grabbing her leg and holding it fast with your other hand and your knees as you jerk, twist and dig with your unbreakable nails. She grabs your hair and pulls; you gasp as she jerks your head back....but it's already too late. Her hands slide through your hair and she wails, an utterly human sound of agonized loneliness, and she collapses over you, her leg immediately giving out when you tear the hunk of unholy flesh out of her leg. There's a lot of blood, but not nearly as much as you were afraid of, and it's not jetting everywhere. And now, for whatever fucking reason, you're starving, and the smell of the flesh in your hand is so good. It's safe for you to eat that. The demon is gone, and it hasn't any power, but that's still some evil stuff there. Burning it or burying it in holy ground might work too. Right, just who the fuck are you and why are you talking inside my head?! ....it can only hurt, and you have the feeling you don't want this being hunted down anywhere....so down it goes. The pauper cemetery will do just fine, you think. Or, there's a couple of churches.... Bleeding girl here, first things first. [XX] ....it can only hurt, and you have the feeling you don't want this being hunted down anywhere....so down it goes.[XXX] Bleeding girl here, first things first - comfort the poor thing as best you can.[x] Right, just who the fuck are you and why are you talking inside my head?!Okay, you know you're not exactly bright, but you also know you're not human, and while you may be a monster, you're not evil. Considering the fact that Priscilla's body collapsed over yours isn't making your skin crawl, and she's sobbing like a little girl whose been abandoned yet again (being a monster was already covered) you're willing to take a chance on the nameless voice that's talking inside your head. You lift your hand and drop the meat into your mouth and swallow it down as quickly as possible. While it may smell delicious, and it makes your mouth water, the taste is absolutely vile. Despite that you have no urge to gag or vomit; it goes down easily and when it is down, you feel a deep, warm satisfaction. It's like you've done something wonderful for someone you love and they gave you a warm hug and snuggles. Sin eater, suggests the voice.I'll deal with you in a minute, you tell the strange voice and the sense of annoyed patience is almost gratifying. You take your shirt and rip the sleeves off, and gently lay the moaning, sobbing girl down on the floor. One goes around her upper thigh, not quite tourniquet tight but close; you tear a swatch of the midriff off and pack it into the wound, which you use the other sleeve to tie in place. The bleeding is not as bad as you were afraid it might be, but it's still a gaping wound. Nothing Doctor Rikandra can't at least get somewhat fixed, but you suspect Priss is hospital bound, and not just for the gaping hole you tore in her thigh. You stroke her hair and she curls up against you, hiding her face in your lap as you cover her with your jacket and stroke her hair softly. The gasping, desperate moans and sobs quiet a little, so maybe there's hope for her. Okay, who the hell are you and why are you in my head?!
You called on me, and I'll thank you not to do it again. We haven't met, but we will, and while I won't remember much of this, I'll remember you just fine. It's not so much arrogance in the strange voice, as surety. You try and think back....You're Circe? The witch? No, but that's what I'm called and that's what I am. You can mark more than just people and places, if you know how. So keep it to yourself, and don't do it again; the first time is free, but the next time will cost you, and you don't want to owe someone like me anything if you can help it. She'll survive this, but she'll never be the same, and she'll have to be put on a suicide watch.I know that. I'm not completely ignorant or stupid. You take a deep breath. But thank you. For helping me.There's a moment of silence, and the fading voice whispers in your mind one last thing. First time is free, second time costs, the third time costs dear. Then you're alone with a bleeding, sobbing little girl, who needs serious medical attention. Take her to Doctor Rikandra; she'll know just what to do. Well, if you ever needed an excuse to panic an orderly station, this is a GREAT way to do it. Sneak her to a hospital yourself; you can do it with some help from your friends. Write in:

>>2012837> Take her to Doctor Rikandra; she'll know just what to do.I just showed up, what is Rikandra likely to do with her?>Hold the girl and try to comfort her. Questions can probably wait
>>2012837> Take her to Doctor Rikandra; she'll know just what to do.I kind of wonder, Rikandra said that hags were a subset of goddess, could we effectively replace Salaah as a patron and would that be good for either us or Priscilla?...Probably should have asked Circe earlier but I think it would have cost us a second favor.
>>2012837>[x] Take her to Doctor Rikandra; she'll know just what to do.
>>2012852Doctor Rikandra knows a lot about Hekah's 'condition' and nature (supernature?) and is a brusque but understanding and talented doctor. Who, apparently, also killed monsters along with some of the other staff members and the owner of Edgewood House. She'll probably have a good idea of what needs to be done even if Hekah doesn't like it..
>>2012853>could we effectively replace Salaah as a patronIf it's just leaving a mark, the only drawback I can think of is having an additional one to mentally track.I say wait until she's a bit more lucid before taking the leap though.
>>2012858>>2012853It's probably a lot more than just a mark, considering Priscilla shapeshifted and was stronger than Hekah, who can tear apart sheet metal and has upended large metal cabinets with no effort. Not saying it's impossible, but it could be very dangerous to play with things you don't fully understand.
>>2012859>Not saying it's impossible, but it could be very dangerous to play with things you don't fully understand. No yeah, I feel like for starters we're kind of a big fish in a small pond right now, and we need to be like a magnitude stronger for that to work. Probably more something to do if Hekah and Priscilla live to maturity.
>>2012837>Take her to Rikandra.>But, maybe get a little less naked first.>>2012858Not sure if we have a choice about Marking Priscilla at this point. No way a hole in the thigh isn't going to scar. Not saying we give her anything, but she's gonna be on our radar for long time yet.
>>2012837>>2012862Okay yeah, I forgot to add that on. Clothes would probably be a good idea if we can do it fast, though if Priscilla is wearing our jacket that might help.
[X] Write in: Less naked![X] Take her to Doctor Rikandra; she'll know just what to do.You pull on your rather tattered shirt and then grab Priscilla's skirt and blouse. You're kind of glad you didn't go any further, because things could be awkward enough already. On the plus side, the lack of people busting the door down means that your cats seems to have kept anyone from trying to rescue either of you by covering the noise Priss tried to make. Bundling her up in your jacket is fairly easy, she's a slight thing. You easily lift her; you have no way to lock the door effectively with your hands full, so you just hope no one notices that the door isn't locked. Mako and Misha, the sibling black and white cats, accompany you down the stairs, while most of the others slowly disperse. When you get to the second floor, you're kind of at a loss. You don't want the orderlies to notice you - and they will, because they watch these stairs like hawks - but you have to get across the hall to the doctor's office. Misha chooses this moment to inform Mako he's a yutz, and hisses at him and swats him. Mako hisses back, then growls, arching high. Misha lowers himself and growls back...then Mako is chasing Misha across the hall, startling the nurses, and the very few kids in the hall. It's entirely coincidental that Misha decides the best escape is over the orderly's desk, and the curses, shouts and laughter that the pair of psychotic felines elicit as they cause major havoc across the desk is quite distracting. So distracting, in fact, that you manage to get Priscilla to the infirmary with only a few incurious glances from kids much further down the hall. Which really isn't that unusual a sight, you ruefully admit."Eh, what's this all....Ah! Put there, quick. Hmn, hmn, so much blood....you not biting people are you?" Rikandra's grammar is pretty badly broken, so she's obviously worried. Well, I was in the attic, and.... (Tell her the truth, all of it.) Priscilla was possessed, and I excised....uh, exorcised the demon. (Tell her the truth, but not all of it.) Don't be rude, I thought you knew me better than that! (Deflect for the moment.) >>2012870>>2012873Actually yeah, forget mentioning it by name. Circe did say that it'll get startled, though I dunno if that only applied during Pris' possession.

>>2012878I don't know, it doesn't really seem like intent matters since we got in touch with Circe through speaking idly. That's why I feel like regardless of what else we leave out, we should try to tell the Doctor about his new application of our abilities because it seems like it is potentially very dangerous.

She was possessed; she tried to do something to me, but I'm not quite sure what. I mean, not the no clothing part, I was just trying to get her undressed so I could find the mark. It was on her leg." you're not quite sure you're not backing yourself into a corner here, but the doctor is hem-ing and ah-ing, rather than giving you one her scathing and very loud rebukes, so you're thinking it's mostly okay. "She wanted me to touch the mark on her leg, like it would have done something to me. So I kind of....well, I totally just tore it out."She glances at you. "After which you did what with the injured flesh?" The doctor is swabbing the wound down with iodine, and then she pulls a scalpel out of her pocket, a slender silver rod with an edge that looks like black glass. Doctor Rikandra makes a few tiny cuts and carefully deposits the trio of tiny scraps of flesh in a basin, and then covers the basin. A tiny pang of loss and hunger makes you blush and you look at her seriously. "I ate it."You're not quite sure whether you're offended or annoyed by her response, which is to hum softly and finish swabbing the wound after setting the scalpel next to the basin. Slowly she packs the wound with gauze, which the listless girl seems not to notice. Doctor Rikandra lifts each of the girl's eyelids with her thumb, and tsks softly. "Well, could be worse. Hard to find good Church dirt. Fire is so so, might work, might not. Silver canister," at which you give a deep and fearful shudder from the mere mention of it, cradling your injured hand, "would work, if hidden proper. Probably best. Not feeling funnier? No sick?"She leaves Priscilla and turns to you, opening your eyes with her thumb and gazing into each, then checking your throat and massaging your temples as she turns your head to look into your ears. Her eyes are not on your head; she's checking your nails, your teeth. The doctor turns back to Priscilla and then opens a drawer and pulls out a bottle and syringe. "Some hags eat rotten things, makes them strong, healthy. Protects places from poison, yeah? Baba Yaga counted dead man's fingers, makes sure all her people in place, chased little ones out of forests into bed, hide from her 'til sun comes up. So, not surprising. Strange though.""So it's....I'm not going to say normal."She shrugs. "Don't know. For you maybe." You remember what Marie said to you."If I was a thonic-""Cthonic?""Yeah that, that kind of creature. Does that give me some kind of power with names?"
Doctor Rikandra injects Priscilla with the drug and gently lays her down, taking your coat from her and handing it to you - nearly jabbing you with the needle in passing - before she gently lays the girl down and covers her with a thick blanket. She places the tin and her scalpel as well as the syringe into the sterilizer, and turns it on. "Earth creature, associated with death, the ground, dead things, imprisoning wickedness. Sure, makes sense. Wouldn't try and eat everything, though, but this? I think you're fine. Your nails get sharper, pointy teeth, then maybe we worry, yeah?" Doctor Rikandra pauses, and then frowns. "Names are powerful. Careful, can make terrible things happen, wrong name, right place, right place, wrong name. Names, three times names, that is very bad. Probably how Missy Priscilla got possessed. So, maybe yes, maybe no. I'm not sure."You nod and she points to the sink, reminding you that your arms are covered in her blood. "You bring clothes here, I burn them. No blood smears. Use bleach, clean up places." Obediently you wash your hands and arms and nod. Handing you a plastic bag she studies you carefully. Biting your inner cheek thoughtfully, you look at her and speak softly and seriously. "I have to know some things. I'm going to go talk to Jake."Doctor Rikandra looks a little surprised. "Yeah?""I have to know some things, and I think he knows them. So I have to talk to him." She looks at you thoughtfully and then glances towards her cigarette drawer, then at the soundly asleep (and most likely sedated) Priscilla and sighs. "Thanks for everything. I mean it." You looks down and she raises her eyebrows, and leans against the bed her new patient is sleeping on, watching you thoughtfully. "I have to ask....how....should I trust you, Doctor? You used to hunt people - creatures like me. You say you're going to try and help me but....can I trust you with my secrets?" You aren't trying to be threatening, and to her credit, she doesn't seem to think you are trying to intimidate her.The aging East Indian looks at the floor, considering something. Then Doctor Rikandra looks at you and takes off her glasses. "All growing up now, huh? Well....that's okay. You need to be grown up. So, you listen to me, one last time, before you are all gone and grown up."
Pushing herself from the bed, she walks over to you and sets her glasses aside. She crouches just a little, and places her hands on her thighs and looks you in the eyes. "You are a good girl, Hekah. You are going to do strange things, dangerous things. You may not feel so good, may not act so good. But if you have question - if you doubt - you think of your girl and your boy. What they would think. How they would feel. You remember them first. Then, if you don't feel so good, don't think it's a good thing, you stop." She lifts a finger and you pull back, expecting another forehead poke. Instead she places her finger against your lips. "You are my secret. People forget. They don't like to remember. Bothers them, yeah? I remember. I do not forget. But for you, this time, I forget. And your secrets remain secret with me."She stands up and puts her hands in her pockets, and deliberately turns her back on you. When she speaks, her voice is thick with emotion, and she speaks in that firm, hard voice of hers, the one that she gives orders with. "Go on now, grown up Hekah. Don't come back here yourself. You send your friends, your rabbit, your little girls and boys, maybe your cats. The door is closed for you. Be a good girl. But do not come here again." She takes a deep breath, and lets it out slowly, and she tucks her glasses away carefully. You stare at her in silence, and you watch as she takes a tissue out of the box and clutches it in one hand. Silently, you leave the infirmary, leaving Doctor Rikandra to forget.>To Be Continued....

It takes most of an hour to clean up your messes, the prominent ones being in the attic and down the stairs. You are fortunate in that no one noticed your indiscretion (or more likely that no one is going to say anything about it). You lock the attic once more, and little Monica is happy to deliver the small red plastic bag of clothing to the doctor for you. It takes a bit of effort to ignore the tightness in your chest when you think of doctor Rikandra now, and you're not entirely certain what that was all about. It seemed pretty significant, especially to her, but there was a lot of what she said that just went over your head.Still, you're going to honor your work and avoid the infirmary yourself. She seemed very adamant about that.On the other hand you have other things to occupy yourself with; it's nearly 8:45 pm, fifteen minutes to lights out, which is also when you need to distract the orderlies on the first floor so Lyrica can sneak out. The albino psycho is sure she can get just what you need to help you, and Jeanine is willing to help as well, which is a bonus. The cats, of course, are always on your side. Your escape is somewhat more simple to plan - all you need to do is climb down the side of the building,Lyrica has to actually use the door, of course, and while there is only one orderly on desk duty, she's one of the more aggravating ones. Judith is totally straight, meaning sex isn't going to work; you don't have enough money to effectively bribe anyone; and she's incredibly uptight and by the book. All of which boils down to she's not going to be an easy person to distract. Which has never really stopped you before, of course.... Go find Jeanine and include her in your lack of plan. The cats will be all the help you need. You can do this on your own - simple is often best. Write in:
>>2015143> The cats will be all the help you need. It's nice of Jeanine to help, but I feel like she should probably stay out of trouble for a while especailly since her social status is now a bit dicey.

>>2015143>>2015151Oh right, I forgot we had that.

[x] The cats will be all the help you need.[x] You can do this on your own - simple is often best.[X] Write in: Jeanine can be a back up if you need her. Arranging your bedding so that it looks like you are sleeping is a skill you've honed to perfection, and it only takes a moment to sabotage the light switch so that it doesn't turn on (something the orderlies like doing to annoy the light sleepers at times, in your opinion). It also helps that you have a reputation for waking up swinging, which is actually Shaun and not you at all. Sometimes Shauna makes for a good surrogate you, but being on this side of the building....you'd rather not expose her to the Bratz any more than absolutely necessary. You do make your way down the hall, past the first orderly station with a wave to the new guy Mark, and into the East Wing, where you are immediately pounced upon by your favorite rabbit, already in her onesie and with mittens fastened about her wrists. "Hey lil' rabbit! you already brush your teeth?" Bethany smiles at you, her pearly whites freshly scrubbed. You half crouch and rub your nose to hers, and she giggles manically. "Perfect smile, as always! You gonna sleep with Shauna tonight?" She nods and takes your hand boldly."She's nice, but she's not as warm as you are," confides the twelve year-old, and you laugh and tug the ear of her hoodie, making her giggle again."Well, I'll have to take your word for that, lil' rabbit! I think she's plenty warm.""Well, yeah, you sex her up." You nod agreeably; there's not much point in hiding the truth from people you care about, really, so you don't. "I wish you'd do that to me," she murmurs softly."You're still little, honey, and it's mean to do that with someone when you're dating someone else. It hurts their feelings. You wouldn't want to make Shauna feel bad, or make Shaun mad, would you?" She shakes her head rapidly, and immediately, looking slightly alarmed - though more by the idea of making Shauna sad than any fear of Shaun's anger. With a smile you swing her up and toss her by one arm - far higher than even an orderly could with ease - and catch her in both arms as she shrieks with laughter. "That's my lil' rabbit!" you exclaim, cuddling her as you make your way to Shauna's room.
Shauna is indeed there, as is Shaun and you toss Bethany to an alarmed Shaun, making her squeal happily again and him grunt as he catches the slight girl. You admire the dark haired beauty sitting on the edge of the bed, a surprisingly slinky black spaghetti-strap nightdress with lace at the hem and along her breasts making her look positively scrumptious. You lean in and kiss her, soft and sweet, inhaling her lavender body-wash scent with relief.Bethany covers Shaun's eyes with one of her mittens. "Boys can't look," she admonishes, as Shauna slips a hand into your hair and makes a soft, happy noise into the lingering kiss. Shaun makes a soft 'aww, man!' exclamation, and Beth snickers. When she finishes with you, you sigh, and walk over to Shaun with heavy lidded eyes. You take Bethany from him and set her on your hip, and kiss him, just as sweetly, just as thoroughly, though he is far more aggressive in his kiss. Bethany covers her eyes with one mitten, and explains, "Little girls can't look," much to Shauna's amusement. The female twin takes Shauna from you - proclaiming she is eating too many carrots because she's heavy!, much to Beth's earnest protests - allowing you to be embraced by ehr brother, and give him your full attention for a moment. Tell them you're going to see Jake and help Lyrica. Let them know that they shouldn't got to the West Wing looking for you. Tell them to be careful, and that you'll be back soon - they're all sorts of marked after all. Give Bethany one of your special kisses, and Mark her. Write in:

[X] Tell them you're going to see Jake and help Lyrica.[x] Tell them to be careful, and that you'll be back soon - they're all sorts of marked after all. When Shaun lets go of you, you gasps breathlessly, and once again grinning like an idiot, because Shaun just makes you feel that good. "Now I don't want to go do stuff," you complain, and Bethany gives Shauna a quizzical look, receiving a shrug in return."Running errands, or terrorizing the Bratz?" asks Shaun curiously."Errands; I have to give Lyrical a hand and then go talk to Jake." You try and keep the bitter anger from your voice, not really that successfully.Shauna looks concerned, of course, and Bethany strokes her hair, which doesn't really help but looks ridiculously cute given she's sitting on Shauna's lap wearing a pink bunny onesie. Shauna looking like a Playboy Bunny-type girl isn't really helping either. "I thought he was fired...?""Suspended and probably fired, considering they already have a replacement. Who, by the way, is a sharp motherfucker. So be careful around him, blond guy named Mark." Shaun nods, and frowns, apparently having met him. "But I gotta go." Shaun reluctantly lets you slip out of his embrace and to the door. "Take care of each other, and I'll be back soon. Before midnight, I hope. Keep your mittens on, little rabbit!" you admonish Beth, who blushes brightly and stops toying with the Velcro catches at her wrists.
Shauna leans into Bethany and smiles at you, and Beth wraps her arms about Shauna's waist, and you really, really, REALLY want to get a picture of that. "Be careful, Hekah," she asks softly, and you swallow, and nod. Shaun grins at you and winks; you leave before they guilt you into staying. Too adorable, so very vulnerable.Taking the note you received from Sister Christina from your pocket, you look at the black-smeared, crumpled paper. Partly, but not entirely legible. You rub the aching wound in your palm - through your palm - and take a deep breath. It isn't difficult to look lost and confused, worried even. It's as easy as seducing someone who makes your skin crawl, really. Like you were born to deceive people. But this is in a good cause, in the long run, no matter what kind of person Lyrica is.Saying goodnight to a couple of your other darlings, you take the far East staircase to the lower level, and then quietly stalk down the hall, getting a few odd looks from East Wing boys who have't retreated to their rooms. You pass along good-nights to the few boys you take care of, and make sure the few bullies and bigger boys know you're there, lurking in shadows and looming in doorways. Lyrica waves at you from the girl's bathroom on the first floor, which is behind and to one side of the orderly's desk. Judith is there, as is Thomas, but he is there only a moment, before most of the lights go out, and the the announcement for lights out and bed time echoes through the halls. Then he's off to the West Wing, giving the East Wing boys and girls time to settle in. Come across as confused, tired and in pain, try for the sympathy play. Confusion, exasperation, and irritation will work fine; it's a trying to do your best sort of game. [X] Confusion, exasperation, and irritation will work fine; it's a trying to do your best sort of game.[X] Write in: Maybe just a touch of anger, nothing that will get you in trouble, just enough to keep Judith on edge.Smoothing out the note as best you can - it's really been through the wringer - you make sure that the parts that you don't want to be able to read are in fact unreadable. Hopefully she won't need to call Sister Chrissy; it should all be in the computer system of course so that unlikely. You school your expression and then look at the note as you walk towards the desk.Judith immediately looks up at you, her expression already wary. Your reputation precedes you of course, but you tend to not bother the orderlies too much if they leave your kids and your cats alone, to a certain extent. The orderlies will chase cats off or push them around - there's only so much you can do. Abuse of power is unavoidable, of course - it's that kind of place. But the worst of it you can deal with, and you can overlook the less troublesome incidents such as peeping and the occasional case of groping for the older girls....or boys for that matter.Fortunately or unfortunately, Judith is one of those by the book, toe-the-line, get the paycheck and go home kind of women. So when you approach the desk with your note, she's got her attention on you, and is still managing glances around, suspicious and careful. "Judith, maybe you can make some sense out of this for me. I got reassigned to a new room, but Christina-""Sister Christina, Hekah," she admonishes you firmly."Yeah, sorry, Sister Christina," you retort with a touch of annoyance, "gave me this totally unreadable note." Offering her the note with your right hand, she immediately takes note of the bandage. You frown at her as she notices it. "Yeah, I don't wanna talk about it, it hurts, okay?" You ignore Lyrical quietly and quickly walking towards the doorway and go up on your tiptoes, looking behind the vast wall of desk. "Hey, you don't have any aspirin or anything. Wait, no aspirin, doc said eyebue-iboo-"
"Ibuprofen?" she snaps in annoyance as she spreads the note out and tries to read what room you're supposed to go into."Yeah, that stuff." Lyrica's made the far wall and is behind a support beam, mostly hidden. More importantly, she's close enough to the door to get out in a few seconds, if you can keep the orderly distracted for the critical few seconds it will take. It really doesn't help that Lyrica is dressed up, with a white jacket, short red skirt, and her hair out and flowing like a white waterfall. she looks good, but she stands out a lot.Judith turns to the computer and punches in an inquiry, and starts reading. "West Wing, 2B." She frowns, knowing how much trouble you have the girls there. She looks at the notes and frowns. "Yes, that's the room." she looks towards you and frowns. "No, we don't keep medicines here. You'll have to ask at the upstairs desk." Lyrica tenses, and it's now or never. Try a fake seduction-for-favors; you know it won't work, but it will definitely annoy the hell out of her. [X] Thank her so very much and lean over as though to kiss her or swipe something from the desk; it'll be worth the trouble. You place your hands on the edge of the desk and hoist yourself up by straightening your arms. She looks startled and that shock becomes more obvious when you lean over, lips slightly parted, a coy look on your face. "~Thank you sooo much~, Judy," you say in your best imitation of Kit's 'sultry' voice.Judith immediately recoils, appalled at your forwardness; Lyrica quietly and without rush or concern, walks around the corner of the wooden column and slips out the door. She opens it with surprising quietness, and is gone in an instant. Naturally, shock and disgust become fear and anger, and she stands up straight. "Go to bed, Hekah," she orders in a very brusque and unhappy tone of voice. "Don't pull that shit with me, unless you want to be seeing Sister Christina."You push off the desk and land on your feet easily. "No thanks, getting stabbed in the hand once today is plenty," you answer sarcastically, before heading in the direction of the West Wing staircase. Judith picks up her walkie-talkie, unhappily, and talks sharply and shortly into it. Thomas, halfway down the hall, turns around and crosses his arms, looking at you expectantly. You smile sweetly at him and he waits for you. "Hey Thomas.""Hekah, you shouldn't be dissin' that lady so much. She's just doing her job." His diatribe is barely that; it's a tired old tune and he knows it.
"She's a prude, Thomas. Everyone likes kissing girls, it's what they're made for," you declare loftily."Not gonna include yourself in that? You're a girl too you know," he replies softly, glancing at you.You look at him and skip a few steps ahead before turning and walking backwards, hands behind your back. "Are you so sure about that Thomas? I'm not." He looks down, and you turn away, running to the staircase and taking the steps two at a time. Not for the first time you wonder what it was he and Sister Christina and Doctor Rikandra used to actually do....and wonder how many others are in on that little secret. When you reach the second floor landing, you peek cautiously down the hall. Jennifer is talking to Marie, Tiffany, and another of the Bratz, who are looking quite angry and put out. Jennifer is being very firm, while Larry is watching, seeing how she deals with them. His slightly distant stance, the way his hands are at his sides, and loose, fingers slightly spread, his attentive posture....it screams that he's ready for a fight. There's not going to be one, despite the heated voices, but he's ready for it anyways.Yeah, Thomas wanted this guy here for a reason, and it's probably not just because he's replacing Jake. Slip into one of the empty Bratz rooms and leave by a window in there - they won't tell, after all. You can squeeze out of the girl's bathroom window. It won't be pleasant but it won't be interrupted or obvious either. Go to your room first, and eavesdrop a little - though you can guess it's about Priscilla. Then leave. Write in:

[X] Slip into one of the empty Bratz rooms and leave by a window in there - they won't tell, after all.You slip into the nearest room, and grin as you recognize Tiffany's very overt 'I am surely a normal teen see my teen-like preferences' decor. Popular music CDs and posters, appropriately girly stuffed animals on shelves and not the bed, very teen taste in fashion. Shutting the door you quickly walk over to her window, which is, like every other window, made of wire-reinforced glass. It is unlocked, but that just gives you access to the iron bars. You swipe the tape on her dresser, used to put up printed out selfies of her, her friends, and their seemingly joyful fun times. You take tape and tape over the heads of the one-way screws used to bolt the bars to the bricks of the wall. You are pretty generous with it - you need to make sure these stay here. Finally, you take hold of two bars towards the middle and equidistant from the edges, and close your eyes. It took a few tries to learn how to do this, but old brick is soft, and while the bars and screws are relatively recent and therefore very strong, the bricks, not so much. With a sudden and quick push, you tear the screws free all at once, but because they are taped in, they don't fall out and to the ground two and a half stories below. It takes a little doing to actually get out while holding the bars, but when you can literally drive your nails and fingers into the brick, you can create handholds for yourself. Placing the permanently freed bars back in place by using the screws to barely hold it there, you then climb down the side of the building using just your fingers and sheer brute strength. It also provides you with leverage to get her in a hell of a lot of trouble if you really feel the need to - the policy on having an unbarred window is brutally strict in Edgewood. It doesn't take long to be on your way, dressed in simple jeans, a t-shirt, basic and slightly ratty sneakers, and your simple brown leather jacket. The last is a gift from Shaun. Not birthday - you don't know when that is, and most kids chose to avoid birthdays. It's just asking for heartache. Christmas though....those are pretty nice.It takes almost no time at all to find where Jake lives, and the old brownstone towers over you. Third floor apartment, in the back, cheap old place. [X] Fire escape, naturally, because scary people always show up by the fire escape, right? You walk around the block to reach the back of the building, and sure enough, a fire escape. Climbing up the wall to reach the fire escape is easy, though you do have to wait for a car or two to pass, and double check the windows nearby. Getting the police called on you would be more than a little awkward.Once on the fire escape though, it's an easy matter to reach his floor, and climbing around the building to reach his window is even easier, if a little annoying. You've fallen from heights before and they hurt, but you don't break as easily as other kids do. Which is a good thing. On the other hand, you've never been shot, so peeking into his window from the ledge is just smart. This place is the stereotype of all stereotypical bachelor pads, complete with a half dozing, undoubtedly drunk guy in a button-down shirt and stained pants watching nothing interesting on TV. You slowly settle yourself on the ledge, then rap on the window hard enough to shiver the pane of glass in its frame. He starts awake and looks out at you, and then sets he can of beer on the table next to him. You see him mouth the words 'you', and his angry expression is neither surprising nor particularly frightening. You push up on the outside edge of his window and burst the turn-lock on it to pieces, sending them flying as you force the window up. "hi Jake," you call politely. "Time to have our little talk." His mouth twists and he tries to say something anything, but you turn and lean over, sliding into his apartment. He gets out of his chair and starts towards you, but the soft creaking, popping, and snaps of your tendons and ligaments makes him quickly reconsider. He glances at the door, and you grin wickedly. "Oh yes, run. That will make it all better."He grits his teeth and then sits back down. You walk around him and turn off the old CRT style television, and hop onto it, your clawed hands twitching and your arms crackling and popping as the muscles and tendons shift unnaturally. "Fine," he says, "But I'm getting a drink." you watch him carefully as he walks into the kitchen, and grabs a glass and a bottle of whiskey....then looks at the glass. He frowns and then twists off the top of the bottle, chugs a few swallows, and then walks back out to the easy chair to sit down facing you. "Whaddya want?""Tell me about your friend Jake.
