You are Anna, a young woman from a long line of thieves, entrepreneurs, even warriors. All of which were also female, look eerily similar, and are named Anna. The tales of the Anna families are confusing, but generally speaking, the destiny of an Anna, is to assist the hero of the Emblem, whoever they may be, and to most of all PROFIT from such a journey. How this happens is up to you and your skills.Speaking of those skills, you're most proficient as...>A Thief, you make your money through manipulation, stealth, and the misfortune of others. You work from the shadows, usually alone.>A Merchant, you make bank through striking deals and trading, to make up for your lack of strength you use your words and cunning.>A Warrior, your profit comes from the battlefield as a mercenary. You're proficient with many weapons that can get the job done.

>>1944853>>1944781You step into the portal, wishing to travel to Valentia, where Annas fear to tread. Your vision blurs as the light engulfs you...When you come to, you're in the dark alleyway of some town. Looking upwards, you see some seagulls flying overhead. It's morning. You step out onto the streets, and ask the nearest guard for your location. He looks at you funny."Miss, this is Zofia harbor... Might I ask, how could you enter this place not knowing that?" He says. You giggle and say that you just get lost often, it probably would hurt your reputation if you went around telling people about the many realms outside of their own. That's classified information, after all. You quickly step away from the armored man, reaching the pier. You fumble around your pack for the map you'd received before traveling here. Zofia Harbor... Near the castle. You're glad the gate didn't drop you into the middle of nowhere! General Desaix is currently in control of Zofia, having killed the king in a rebellion. You check around your backpack for your item stock. You've got produce and weapons to sell.Iron Lance (Stock:1)Iron Sword (Stock:3)Iron Axe (Stock:3)Leather Shield (Stock:2)Bread (Stock:10)Holey Cheese (Stock:10)Tomato (Stock:10)Cabbage (Stock:10)Now you need a plan to sell these items, as well as get new stock to then also sell. There's also the issue of finding the hero of the Emblem. It could be anyone, from royalty to a village idiot... You look at your map and come up with some ideas, what should you do?>Travel to Ram Village, it's said to not be very well defended, and they grow oranges. You can sell them your weapons and get some oranges for stock.>Attempt to sell weapons to Desaix's men at Zofia castle>Look around for the Deliverance hideout, maybe they need weapons to reclaim Zofia.>Maybe try acquiring some fish stock around the harbor?>Gather more information about conflict in the area.

Rolled 1 (1d2)Rolling for final vote.>1=Gather intel>2=Go fish
>>1945094>>1945004You feel your intel on the area's conflicts is a little lacking. So you decide to ask around.Since you're at the pier right now, you ask the shipmaster about any chances of boat travel. "Well," he begins, "You could go out a little ways to do some fishin' but further out, the waters have recently been completely controlled by Barth's pirates... If you're brave though, you might sail to the Seabound Shrine. It's guarded by Necrodragons, so good luck if you don't have any way to fight those... As for here, all north of Zofia castle is blocked off. And there's bandits crawling throughout the path to here and the southern villages... They mostly stay in their hideout, Thieve's Shrine. Only a fool would go up against cutthroats like them alone..."You thank the man for his time, and make your way to the entrance of town. On your way there, you see an eccentric old traveler wearing purple who seems dismayed. You lightly tap his shoulder and ask what his trouble may be. "I'm headed to Zofia castle, hoping to taste this region's many different cheeses... But alas, all entry is blocked from the castle, and beyond it as well. So I'm afraid I'm stuck here... I'm a real cheese connoisseur, the grand duke of dairy! I was all ready to pay for something truly exotic..."What a lunatic, cheese isn't that intricate--Wait did he just say... PAY?Your smile grows wider. You tell the man you have some on you right this minute... For a price. The man looks ecstatic."Well, miss... Name your price! This cheese is pristine, otherworldly even!"It's just some normal cheese, though it DID come from another realm. So that does increase the value. You exchange 3 of your Holey Cheese for 3 Honey Jars. They've been added to your stock! You say farewell and good luck to the man, and continue on your way out of the harbor. Your only real hope of expanding business is south, and so for the whole day you travel southwards, maybe you'll find the deliverance hideout, a villager or two to con out of their hard earned rainy day spending money. When evening is reached, you pitch a tent and camp out... The Stars are nice, though... you wish you could make out the constellations in this new land. You ponder why you did this for a minute. There are many Annas in the many worlds, all making money their own way. But only a rare few will ever fulfill the destiny. Valentia has been neglected by your families, and with all the sparking conflict, the hero will show themself eventually. Then you can be considered special, every Anna has the same face and name, so to be able to stand out is your ultimate goal. You finish setting up, placing your pack full of stock on the ground. You take your Lance and twirl it around a few times. You're no warrior, but blindly stabbing at things isn't hard is it? No way you're getting caught without a weapon when there's supposedly bandits everywhere. "Nice weapon, girl, it's too bad you won't get the chance to use it."Well, you ARE getting closer to that Thieve's Shrine... You turn around to find the perfect description of a thug, slowly advancing close to you with an axe in hand, a menacing smirk on his face. He points said Axe at your face, it's clear what he wants... You try your best not to show fear, you know how this works. Bandits are like slimes in other realms, the lowest of the low enemies. Even still, he could likely beat you easily, you've read that Axes outclass lances in every way. And you don't have the time to open up your pack and grab a sword...>Stay quiet, maybe he won't think you're worth looting!>Fight him, he's bluffing and hasn't handled an axe in his life.>Attempt to convert a brigand trying to mug you into a paying customer

Steel. It's iron, but he doesn't need to know that. You tell him you have another Lance like this as well as a few similar swords and axes on hand, each just... 650 gold each. You said they were steel, but the price of steel weapons is usually pretty high up, at least when your sisters sell them. And you've gotta drive a hard bargain if you want this guy to buy, because he could just steal them for free any day of the week.(Rolling for success)

FREE!"The foe lifts his axe and rushes towards you, you hold your Lance up for any sort of defense, stumbling backwards....Instead of a swift end, the bandit cries out, you open your eyes. He's been knocked to the side, a nasty looking wound opened up at his shoulder. You look to your right, to find your supposed savior. A young man in red armor, he looks to be a soldier. His Lance is definitely sharper than yours..."Leave here, right this second, I'm giving you quite the chance here..."The brigand looks very afraid. He mumbles something of an apology and hobbles off, clutching his injury. You stare at this soldier, you...>Yell at him, he just drove off potential business! But in a way, it's also not true because your life would be much more safe with extra cash on hand. So you keep up the shouting, you even swear at him a few times for good measure. "I'm... Sorry, then. I guess I misread the situation, merchant. He could've hurt you, though... What's your name?"Your name? You briefly wonder if this guy is actually concerned or if he's just hitting on you. You demand to know HIS name first."..." The soldier smiles. "My name is Lukas, of the Deliverance."You recall hearing some about them, The Deliverance, they're the underground rebellion against Desaix and Rigel. This... doesn't change anything, you're still mad at him. But at least he's one of the "good guys" here. At least in your book. You grumble that your name is Anna, and shake his hand. "I see we're headed in the same direction, are you en route to Ram Village as well, Anna?"You nod your head and ask him what he's after."I assume you wish to speak with them about trade? I'm there to recruit, a special someone."Special someone? ...A hero, perhaps. It's only been one day and half a night and things have certainly gotten interesting.War is easy to profit off of, maybe it's a good idea to get in on the struggles. The Deliverance is either a dud or a mega dough maker. At the least, they'd gladly pay for weapons.Lukas is looking around at the surrounding forest.>Offer to tag along with him, the village is only the rest of the night away.>Scoff, and send him off, you're still a little salty.>Write-in

He's quite the legend, maybe past his prime age now, but having him in the Deliverance would drive morale up, so I want to ask if he'll join our fight."Hm, this Mycen doesn't sound like the Emblem hero. They usually come... younger. But you're still seeing money signs coming from the deliverance's doorstep. "Hey, sir Lukas? Mind if I accompany you there? ...So that you can continue to keep me safe?" Gotta throw in that last line, it's a real hook considering you were angry with him seconds earlier.Lukas strokes his chin, chuckling. "I see no reason why not, Anna, I'll be ready when you are. Don't take too long packing back up."You feel like this is gonna be the start of a beautiful friendship, but considering Lukas is fighting a war (and you might have to as well) that's not a guarantee. What is a guarantee is that this is good for business, especially if the Deliverance can win! Then their weapons dealer, that's you, will be famous...In about 10 minutes you're ready to roll again. The two of you travel down the path for the rest of the night, making small talk. You manage to dance around the subject of your origins. You came from the realm of Elibe, but they've already had their Emblem incident solved, twice, once by lord Eliwood and again by his descendant Roy. You figured you weren't gonna stick around for another sequel to that story. By sunrise, Ram Village is in view. The guards in the dingy watchtower wave you both through. It's rather small here."Anna, I'm going to go speak with the General... Go do what you wish." Lukas tells you as he walks off towards the back row of houses. There sure are some characters here...>Follow Lukas, you wanna see this Mycen for yourself.>Talk to villagers>Quick, pick some oranges while nobody is looking!
>>1946046>>Quick, pick some oranges while nobody is looking! This is the closest we'll get to being thief class.
>>1946078Everyone's milling about. Your eyes drift up to meet some perfectly ripe oranges hanging off of trees. If they're all occupied then...You have a mixed opinion on thievery, as an Anna. Not all Annas are born so lucky, so stealing is taught as a survival tactic, not as a tool of evil. But still, you have to be careful what you take. People can be hurt if you steal something precious, lives could be ruined. But a couple of oranges lost never hurt anybody, besides this village appears to also herd sheep. You should be totally fine! You grip a low hanging orange, tugging at it. ...No dice, it's tough. You pull harder but it's obvious this orange is rooted deep. Maybe you can cut it with the blade of your lance. You draw it and reach up, beginning to saw at the stem. "What're you doing?"You yelp with surprise and fumble your Lance, almost cutting yourself. You quickly turn around to meet a boy with green hair's eyes. He's wearing armor, unlike the rest of this village."N-nothing! I was just, admiring these oranges..." You backpedal, the boy doesn't seem to know you were taking them. Perfect.>Introduce yourself, don't be shady.>Get outta there, go go go!>Write-in

The boy, Alm, mentions with a smile. He seems nice, certainly gullible. A perfect customer. "So, Alm was it? I take it you villagers don't have much for defense out here..."Alm's brow furrows slightly. "I see, so you mainly sell weapons? I have around 600 gold at home, but it's all I've got, and I already have a well enough iron sword... I'll have to decline, Anna."Phooey, looks like he's smarter than the average farmboy... You'll keep chipping away, he can buy SOMETHING, right? You leave it be for now. "About Lukas, he said he was searching for someone named Mycen..." "You mean my grandfather?" Alm asks.Whoa whoa, the grandson of a great hero? Who already has a sword? And an unconventional hair color? That sounds like hero of the Emblem material. But you're not so sure. He's kinda low on the... charisma side of things. "Do you think Mycen will accept Lukas' offer? I wouldn't turn down a deal like that." You question Alm."How could he refuse? I was about to go see if they were finished speaking..."Alm turns towards where Lukas had gone off a little earlier, eagerness in his eyes,>Go with him, reunite with Lukas>Talk to some other villagers about Alm>Stay here and wait for the coast to clear. Lukas states flatly. "Sir Mycen has made it clear he has no intention to join the Deliverance...""...What? But he's ridiculously strong! He could defeat some stuffy chancellor with his eyes closed! Why would he refuse when so many people are suffering?" Alm seems pretty angry. You wonder if he's being melodramatic or actually cares. "I cannot speak to Sir Mycen's thinking, but it seems we misplaced our hopes... I'll have to return to our hideout and give Clive the ill news. It seems he's simply too old for the battlefield."Lukas says goodbye to Alm and walks off."He's not old..." Alm muses. "He's tougher than men half his age..."Alm storms off after Lukas. It seems things aren't going as planned for him or Alm. Maybe the destiny and profits lie elsewhere... Or maybe this is a big misunderstanding, and you gotta intervene. >Go talk to Mycen yourself. >>1946560>>1946563Lukas left the door slightly ajar. Time to work your speechcraft magic!"Oooooh Sir Mycen?" You creep into the house, its quiet. There's a few more oranges, as well as a half loaf of bread on the table. Likely Alm's breakfast. You search through the rooms but find only traces of Mycen's existence here. You hear a door shut somewhere in the distance, that's probably him. So you rush over there. It's a small stable, by the time you reach it you can hear hoofbeats fading off into the distance. If Mycen was here, you just missed him. Crud... He's certainly fast, it's only been about 3minutes since he talked to Lukas. Why would he leave? Maybe he knows something he doesn't want the Deliverance to? Maybe he's actually a fugitive? Maybe he just wants to watch the world burn? Who knows. You leave Alm's house, actually shutting the door, unlike Lukas. A few steps out, Alm's returned. He still looks angry, but it's not a confused anger, it's focused. He's determined. "Alm? What's up?"Alm doesn't look at you."I've decided to join the Deliverance, since Mycen won't..."Now THAT is some heroic shit. Maybe your plan to get famous off the Deliverance's success isn't botched after all!"If you're here to say goodbyes, I think the guy just rode off." You tell him.Alm frowns. "Really...? I don't understand why he'd... It doesn't matter."Alm turns back towards the village entrance. Naturally, you're going with him and Lukas...Hm, it doesn't seem like anybody's gonna be home for awhile like this. You take the Woodcutter's Axe resting next to a treestump and add it to your stock. At the entrance is some unfamiliar faces along with Lukas and Alm. A grey haired boy who seems reserved, a girl with cute pigtails who looks pretty ill equipped for combat in terms of armor, a boy with messy hair who seems really excited, and a brown haired guy spinning a sword. It seems they're all following Alm's example...>Formerly join the Deliverance, stick to the plan.>Follow them discreetly, that way you can make money off of them each individually.>Write in

>>1946771>>Follow them discreetly, that way you can make money off of them each individually.yesHey, don't these hero types usually become really important people? Like, getting noble titles and all? Maybe we can butter up Alm and get a comfy seat of power to make even more profit with!
>>1946779>>1946792You look at the ragtag group... Time for an addendum to the plan. If you don't join the Deliverance, then you can make money off of each of these poor saps one by one. So not only do you help the Deliverance, you can avoid giving a "Deliverance Discount" as well. Plus, if all goes well, you can slip in at the perfect timing and reap some battle victory rewards. Don't these warrior hero guys usually get tons of loot and positional rights? So you wait about half an hour for them to depart, then depart yourself. You're gonna need to learn about each and every one of these Villagers, if you want to pull at their emotions juuuuust right and open their wallets. There's also the ambiguity of Alm being the hero. He's a hero for sure, but maybe not THE hero. Only time will tell... You haven't made any money yet, but you've profited in stock highly. A day and a half in, your adventure is going swell...
Hey all, it's getting kinda late and I'm getting tired. I think I'll turn in soon, but I'll run around the same time I started this tomorrow. If you have any questions, I'll be up awhile longer to answer them or take suggestions.
Thanks for running, hopefully it picks up a bit next time
>>1946886will we be using Valentia's weapon triangle? (in other words, will we be ignoring the weapon triangle entirely?)
>>1946911I'm kinda debating using the weapon triangle, but likely combat is just gonna be roll/narrative based. I think the more complicated part of this quest should be the economy part later down the line, as well as helping Alm and Celica whether it be directly or indirectly. I think having a large complex rpg system would make things harder to play.
Alright I need sleep, when we return, getting to know (and learning how to swindle) the Deliverance.
Alright before we start, here’s a pastebin with the character sheet. I’ll update it when major changes happen. I’ll probably have a Twitter for updates soon, but generally I’ll be running this over weekends whenever possible.https://pastebin.com/eyvZ5HEv
“Whoa, fancy seeing you all here!” You exclaim, feigning surprise as best you can. You’ve followed Lukas’ group for the past 2 days all the way to the southern outpost, and as it turns out, these punks are the real deal. Alm’s swordsmanship isn’t half bad, and neither are the others. Though, one of them uses magic. They’ve got a cleric with them, Silque, and have just rescued a Pegasus Knight named Clair. After reclaiming the outpost from the enemy, Alm’s little army has taken shelter there. So you’re making your presence known for a bit. “Anna? Hm, I guess it is strange how we keep meeting up.” Alm greets you with a nod. The pigtailed girl, who you’ve learned is named Faye, scoffs quietly. “So er... You two know eachother?” She asks. You can almost taste the salt radiating off of her. Love interest much? “We only met once, she’s just a strange merchant, Faye.” Alm replies, looking a little embarrassed. It seems Faye doting over him happens often...“Merchant, eh? Hm, maybe I could buy something. Once I get a little more disposable money.” The brown haired boy, Tobin, says. Tobin, a boy after your own heart. He’s in it for the money! Granted, it’s so he can help his family, not for the thrill of being filthy freaking rich. Their mage, Kliff, winces in the back. It’s the white haired guy. Silque is healing him up. You watched some of their battle here, Kliff wasn’t injured by an enemy, rather he was injured by himself. Magic in this realm seems very primitive, it doesn’t require tomes, but it physically drains the user. Meanwhile, Gray, the dark haired boy, is staring after an oblivious Clair. Clair’s pretty and all, but Gray doesn’t stand a chance in your eyes. You agree with Lukas to stay the night with them. Maybe now’s your chance to make some gold... You’ve got options, that’s for sure.>Talk to Alm, get buddy buddy with potential hero.>Talk to Faye, her seeming love for Alm can be used to your advantage.>Talk to Tobin, you’re both after money, maybe you can strike a deal.>Talk to Kliff, his magic may be of use to you.>Talk to Silque, she seems nice, too nice, nice enough to spend.>Talk to Clair, she’s wishy washy, maybe she’s gullible.>Talk to Gray, love drunk fools will open their pockets for dating advice any day right?>Explore the fort for any lootable items

>>1948221>>1948285You step over to Gray, tapping his shoulder. ...No response, his eyes are fixed on Clair who's now talking to Alm while grooming her Pegasus. "Gray?" You whisper in his ear.Gray jumps, eyes meeting yours. He leans against the wall, sputtering something. Obviously trying to hide his embarrassment. "H-hey there, you're Anna right? I-I heard the others talking about you, I know I seemed a little distracted but I'm fine! Haha..."Yeesh, he's pushing his luck far past its limit. Someone like Clair doesn't seem like someone who'd date with awkward boys. "So, you're a merchant? You certainly look more eccentric than my parents." He continues. "Well, that Lukas guy just paid us all for our efforts. I've got nothing I NEED so... If you have something I want, I'll take it, right?"Gray is not bright. But you don't discriminate between customers. Still, your mind is forming a plan. Your eyes dart between Gray and Clair... You've never been one for all that shipping nonsense. But maybe a minor deal of the matchmaking business would be successful. But how should you go about it..."Gray, you seem troubled... Worried for the future?" You ask him, it's rhetorical."Hm? Me? Well..." He glances towards Clair. "This is a war, right? Course I'm worried..." that's what you wanted to hear. You put your finger on your chin in the trademark Anna pose."Well, that's no good! I bet I could ease some of that worry. Did you know that I don't just sell wares? I also sell..." You think for a moment. "Futures! I can see some of the future, for a price of course. An upcoming ordeal, an unknown event... Even your soulmate~"Gray lights up at that last part. There it is, you've got a sale! "How much... How much for that soulmate reading? N-not that I really need it... But I don't got anything else to spend on, it could be fun! So, how much?"Well, that's a good question..."How much do you have, Gray?""Lukas gave us each around 800G for the battle, I've got some 1200 in total. Yeah, I'm pretty rich right?" Pff, amateur. So, how much should you ask for?>800G, he already said doesn't need that salary.>1200G, it's all he has but it's worth it, for love right?>First Fortune Free, build his trust a bit before wringing him dry.>Write-in offer

>>1948440are you me?
>>1948440>>1948402"Well, you're in luck!" You tell him. "I give my first fortune for free. Here, gimme your hands."You grab Gray's palms, gently pulling off his gloves. You don't know the first thing about how fortune telling works, but then again, nobody really does. It's all a scam as far as you're concerned, and this reading is no different. Gray looks excited. You close your eyes."Please, give me a moment to speak with the gods." In reality, you're stalling to come up with a cool riddle to keep him mystified. Since this is a free fortune, you can't give the answer away perfectly, or else he won't want to pay for clearer results. You open your eyes, smiling at Gray. "So, Anna, you get anything good?" He eagerly asks."Well, the gods hung up on me after giving this riddle..." You clear your throat. "Through thick and thin, throughout this war, the forbidden fruit is the soulmate you must adore." You're a merchant, not a poet, but Gray seems to buy it. "Ah- hey that's pretty neat! So my soulmate can be found in this war... What do you mean by forbidden fruit?" You chuckle. "That's up to you to find out, Gray, I could give a more clear telling if I maybe had some... Compensation to give to those above us." By forbidden fruit, you meant that Gray has no chance in hell of getting with a fancy girl like Clair. But you're not gonna tell him that, not until he's spent every penny to you in order to try his best at getting the girl. "So... After the free one, what's the price?""600G, per reading." That means he's got 2 more before he's broke. Gray looks at you expectantly.>"If you want, I could read it again if you have the money." (Take what he's got.)>"I can't do so many readings consecutively, wait for tomorrow." (Build his anticipation.)

>>1948502>"I can't do so many readings consecutively, wait for tomorrow." (Build his anticipation.)Also we should use this time to come up with something better
>>1948515>>1948522You see that he's likely ready to cough up the big bucks, but you've got other plans. If you butter up Gray with fortunes over a longer period of time, you'll get more money out of it thanks to Lukas' salary deal. "I can't do two readings in a row so quickly, it uh... isn't healthy. But please, see me tomorrow. Love is one of the most important battles you'll ever face, and I'd love to assist." You say with a smirk. Gray nods."Alright Anna, see you then, hey and thanks! ...Man, I wonder if it's who I think it is?" Gray keeps mumbling to himself as he walks off. You look around, it seems everyone but Alm, Lukas, and Clair have gone to bed for the night.>Look for items to stock up on here, bound to be more weapons.>Talk to Alm, he's probably got tons on his mind.>Talk to Lukas, maybe see about striking a trade deal with the Deliverance.>Talk to Clair, maybe you can get her the same way you did Gray.

>>1948649>>1948630Alm is on the roof, looking out over the plains. Zofia castle can just barely be seen in the distance, it's still miles away. The stars aren't out tonight, too many clouds in the sky. You stand next to him, smiling. "Oh, hey Anna... I figured someone like you wouldn't sleep just yet." He says."Oh? And just what is that supposed to mean, Alm?""You just seem busy, is all. Like you've always got some goal. Business as usual, right?" You nod, like you noted earlier, he's smarter than the average villager. You place your arm around Alm's shoulder, in a platonic, comical manner. You two are friends, right? Or at least you hope you are."Well, Alm, I don't think people stand on roofs looking down at the grass for a few hours without heavy thoughts. This is a big change for you, right Mr.Hero?" You playfully tease him. "Hey, my grandfather's a hero. I've still... Gotta prove myself. I don't really get why you're so invested, I thought you weren't even part of the Deliverance in the first place." Alm laughs. So he's nervous, it's his first time fighting things that hit back, and he's got the whole pressure about morale on his hands. Maybe you should find some out about him. >Ask about future in the Deliverance.>Ask about Mycen>Ask about Faye

>>1948736>>1948758"I was gonna talk to him, Mycen I mean, before he got out of there. I thought if Lukas couldn't get to him, maybe someone with a little more charm could." You recall the events at Ram village. You elect to omit the fact that you kinda broke into Alm's house. Alm looks at you, perplexed. "What's his deal? He obviously trained you well, I saw your swordsmanship a little earlier."Alm looks back out to the wilderness, thinking. "Grandfather was always super tough. Our village got attacked by these strange soldiers, once. He fought them all off practically alone. Though, Gray will tell you he helped. He didn't, we were just kids then... Yeah, I've grown up with all of these people from the start. But this is the first time any of us have left Ram, it's exciting! Scary, yeah, but a really invigorating kind of scary. Though, not all my friends are here..." Alm trails off, looking determined again, like the other day at the village when he'd decided to leave. "There's a girl I knew, Celica. She had to leave after that attack, I still don't know why. But I think it's my destiny to meet her again."You raise your eyebrow. A destiny, he says. "I've got a destiny to meet someone, too. Well, on top of... making Profits, heehee... The problem is, unlike you, Alm, I'm not so sure who it is yet." Alm smiles again at you. "Hey, maybe we'll both end up getting our destinies solved. As well as being rich and famous..." Alm sounds kinda bitter about that. "I don't know, sure, Mycen's super powerful, but am I really cause for such faith? What if people doubt I'm as strong as him?""Hey, don't worry Almond, I got faith in you! For real." You laugh, but that's not a joke. Alm isn't someone to mess around with, if your suspicions are correct. The two of you wrap up talking and decide to head off to bed. Well, if you weren't friends before, you are now. You think a little bit about what he said. Celica sounds important to him, she's probably the real love interest here, not Faye. Interesting... Getting closer to Alm through finding Celica might be a good plan. It's too bad neither of you have a clue on her whereabouts...The next day, you sleep in. When you awaken it appears the Villagers, along with Clair and Lukas, are moving out again... The soldiers that were defending this place before are back in position, looks like you won't be able to take any weapons, too bad.>Go with them>Continue like before, following from a distance>Try and take an alternate route to beat them to Zofia Castle.

>>1948934>>1948929You look at the map on the table of the fortress' planning room. It seems the Deliverance is holed up in a hideout a few miles southwest of Zofia Castle. Alm and his crew are likely to check in there, giving you plenty of time to go on ahead and show up "just in time" for their victory over Desaix. That's uh... Assuming they aren't pulverized by Rigel's forces. So you follow a mile or so behind... Though, you should've expected trouble, seeing as The Deliverance is a rebellion and all. It's not long before you see them caught up in a skirmish on the plains. At least you're not the one doing all the fighting, but... Maybe you need the experience. Things are only going to go up in difficulty here.>"Miraculously" show yourself to assist them in their fight>Leave it be, continue on ahead of them as planned.
>>1950112>>"Miraculously" show yourself to assist them in their fightIf anyone asks, make some comment about wanting to show our precious goods in action. Also, Vitamin C
>>1950866 (checked)You draw the iron lance, ready for combat. You bought this from one of your sisters for a dirt cheap discount, you sure do hope it's not faulty...It looks like the enemy is primarily all cavalry based. You think back to your very limited training...It seems Alm and Clair are the ones leading the fight, Alm's using a lightning sword, tearing foes apart with strikes from far away. You wonder if you could've picked it up before him at the Southern Outpost, maybe you could've resold it for a fortune. You rush in, stabbing at an unsuspecting cavalier, defeating him, and meet up with Alm. He's surprised to see you, and you wave at eachother. But it's obvious he's more focused on the task at hand and immediately returns to the fight. You're definitely not strong enough to handle this stuff on your own yet, so you stick to being an assisting attack of sorts. It goes well. After a few more minutes of skirmish, the enemy retreats. Nobody on your side's harmed too bad, thankfully. But hey, you helped out. Time to make your triumphant standing. You smile at Alm, who looks... Less than amused with you."What's the look for? Didn't I show up just in time?"Alm shakes his head."Anna, I think we're all glad for any assistance but... it's kinda strange that you're following us!" ...Oof, he's right. You've overstepped your bounds a bit haven't you? Now you just seem suspicious. "Alm?" Lukas chimes in. "Might you suspect this merchant a spy of sorts?"Oh crap."Wha- me? A spy? Nonono, you misunderstand! I've even helped out Gray somewhat, we're just headed in the same direction and--"As you make your case, Alm, Clair, and Lukas turn their gaze elsewhere. Someone's riding towards you all, fast as lightning. It's a very overbearing man with a frown that seems like it's been on his face for years on end. You don't know him, but you get the feeling he's an asshole."Clair! You're safe and sound?" He asks. Looks like he's not a foe after all."Oh? Good day, Fernand. What brings you here?" Clair replies. This guy's name sounds dignified and important. You still think he's probably an asshole. Fernand explains that he'd been sent out to help rescue Clair, obviously a little late to the party. "Now... Who is this rabble?" Fernand insultingly asks, turning to you and Alm. "Do you mean us?" Alm says, raising an eyebrow."They're not rabble, Fernand. This boy is Alm, he's the grandson of sir Mycen himself!" Fernand's expression somehow gets even angrier. "Is this some... Joke?"Lukas steps in front of Alm. "Alm and his friends have joined our cause, Mycen... Couldn't be suaded, sir Fernand." "Are you trying to amuse me, Lukas? Letting a group of children with pitchforks try and fight for us?""But they've all fought bravely-""Your word means nothing to me, you're still just a backwater noble..." Fernand's words seem to cut Lukas.
Then, the knight turns to you."And what's this? Have you also been letting a merchant tag along? Are you trying to waste our funds on a scam artist!?"Oh no, he did NOT just say what you think he did.First off, you may be a scam artist, but it's helpful, technical scamming! By stealing Ram's oranges you help spread them across the world! By faking soulmate fortunes you help Gray know that he has no chance in hell with Clair! You take two bold steps forward."Well, everyone." You begin. "Clearly, this hothead has lost his composure...">Speak to defend Alm and his friends.>Insult Fernand, he deserves his own medicine.>Throw an orange at Fernand, assert dominance through vitamin C (-1 Orange)>Draw your lance, settle this the old fashioned way.
