Stage 163: Storm and Sea in Setagaya. As you understand it, the number of Kami that a spirit-child gets to meet in their lifetime is generally one. If a spirit-child chooses, they may call upon Amaterasu-Okami once, and receive a visitation. That's what you understand. It's a sensible thing, considering the kami tend to twist fate and warp the real world in their vicinity when unsupervised by priests and priestesses. That boon, that gift is part of a spirit-child's unalienable birthright. You, on the other hand, have so far met three times the usual number – that is, if you include the possessed kamuy Kinashut Kamuy, the snake kamuy. Your father was impressive though, unfettered and in his element as it were. It is not a pleasure to realize you have the opportunity to increase that number by yet another kamiBecause this kami is as unpredictable as the Monkey King, and is far more dangerous: Susano-Oh, the slayer of Yamato-no-Orochi, the kami who delivered the Three Imperial Treasures to Amaterasu-Omikami, Kami of Sea and Storm, and whose get you rather beat the ever living crap out of before turning her over to Hinata-hakase.He is wearing a tacky “I Heart Harajuku” sweater over fine silk jacket and is currently draining most of a large mug of beer after having waved you over. He is expending lots of energy to remain unnoticed as anything but a tourist to everyone, including other spirit children....including your Seer and your Priestess. Though he has a sword at his side – a ten-hand blade, a weapon more in the Chinese style like Ohabari-sama – he seems fairly jocular and pretty pleased with himself and the world today. For the moment at least. The main problem is you're in front of the Setagaya Public theater, and are supposed to be seeing Kiki-hime's rendition of your fight with the oni of Kuraokami, and it is very busy. Between people getting food at the vendors near the entrance, and the people actually going inside, this is the absolute worst place to start anything aside from a Barrier Combat. Not that you're planning on it, but just....it's a mess. A real mess. And now he's gesturing you over again, and ordering another mug....uh, okay, that isn't a mug. That's another pitcher of beer. He's using a pitcher as a mug, and it is proportionate. so....eight foot six, maybe eight foot nine. He's bigger than some true oni. You'd swear, but he's awfully close by and you already have most of his attention. Well, go see what he wants; it can't be all bad, right? Ask your priestess for advice. That's what she's here for. Say a prayer to his sister for protection and have your lovers wait here. Tell Er Yin and Kiku that you need to see The Storm God, and you'll be right back. Have them go in ahead of you, you'll join them in a moment....

>>1784869Adding to my vote here >>1784942 :>Greet Susano-Oh with the respect he deserves as a major kami, a member of Amaterasu-okami's family, and a fighter/hunter of his might and skills. >Examine the sword in passing. It might be a coincidence, but it might be linked to Enma-Oh expressing interest in a very particular kind of blade. And at worse it is not a bad idea to know more about the weapon, given Susano-Oh's history of using extremely devastating ones.

>>1784974I was at first thinking it unnecessary, but bringing other kamis attention might actually be dangerous. Seconded.
I don't mind skipping the prayer, advice is fine.
[X] Ask your priestess for advice. That's what she's here for.[XX] Tell Er Yin and Kiku that you need to see The Storm God, and you'll be right back.[XX] Well, go see what he wants; it can't be all bad, right?[+] Any advice on introducing myself to a Greater Kami who is my dad's rival and whose daughter I beat half to death?[+] Make sure the 6's are covered and the 9's dialed. You meet Susano-Oh's eyes directly and nod to him, just once, and then look down as you adjust the tightness of your bracelet. “So,” you ask while barely moving your mouth, “what is the sort of thing you would say to introduce yourself to a god whose daughter you beat the crap out of when he's invited you over for a beer or two.” While the sword doesn't look like much, it's is entirely possible that it is the actual blade he slew Yamato-no-Orochi with; if it wasn't a weapon of great power then, it's surely one now. It looks terribly unassuming and very well worn though. He grins as he notices your gaze, and shakes one finger at you in a naughty naughty gesture, but his smirk is amused, rather than annoyed or threatening. Since your voice sounds conversational they respond conversationally as opposed to panicking the way you would really like to but aren't going to because that would be terribly embarrassing. Breath, Ryukusa, breathe.“I for one would recall the tale of Fujiwara Hidesato and the Oni clan of Fuji,” Er Yin-sensei replies immediately. You have a wine-box that was similarly designed for such a purpose: get your enemy drunk as you drink with them, and cut off their heads when they fall asleep. Yeah, honorable the samurai were not when faced with bad odds. Not that you blame them, of course. You never fight fair once you've decided to fight for real.“Is it Takehaya Susano-Oh-no-Mikoto? I would ask him how his wife Kushinada-hime is faring, and if he is enjoying his return to Heaven. It might seem like a long time to us, but it is a recent return to him.” Kiku-chan does have a point; by the reckoning of the kami it's only been a few weeks at best, maybe even days.“....does it strike you as kind of creepy he named his daughter after his wife?” you ask curiously, keeping your lips from moving as you check your immaculate hair and tug your blouse a little, for the specific purpose of giving Susano-Oh a nice look at your booms. “I mean, that's just creepy to me.”“Well, it is a tradition to name demigods after the kami who birthed them, aniki,” Kiku-chan offers mildly.“That doesn't say much for my name then, does it? But that's it? No other special advice?” Er Yin and Kiku-chan fall silent, and you grab Kiku-chan's hair and ruffle it violently before it explodes. “Hey now! Don't give it away you salamander! Just keep an eye out; I think he's not here, but he's here in a way. I don't know how well I can separate the two worlds, so I'm not going to be at the top of my game.”
>>1785041“He's HERE? That monster is HERE?” Kiku-chan sounds more angry than afraid, and you grab her by the horns.“Yes, that monster is here, Kiku-niji-chan, and I don't want him knowing you know that!” you barely breathed whisper penetrate her intense rage, and she huffs angrily smoke billowing from her mouth. “And don't startle our baby into coming out early, we're not equipped to deal with the second coming of Gojira-san.” As she sputters helplessly at you you stand up and rise to your tip-toes to place an air kiss on Er Yin's cheek, which makes her blush, given that it's in a dense crowd.“Be careful, Ryukusa-sama; he is unpredictable. But I do not think he would cause much turmoil here directly. He would have to force you into heaven to keep us from you if you make a Barrier.” Er Yin's tail slides around your legs to caress your tail and she taps your ass lightly with the tip of her tail. You grin, the affection meaning so very much to you, and you consider putting on some fingerless gloves for effect. But you don't, because you don't have any that would really suit this look.“So, I'll be right back after I say hello to my great uncle.” It's basically true, of course. Ryujin was born of Izanagi, though after Amaterasu-Omikami, Susano-Oh, and Tsukiyomi.“Hai, aniki. “Yes, Ryukusa-sama.”You slide through the crowd with relative ease, blending into and out of it with the same ease as you would water, a bamboo grove, or a field of rice. When you arrive at his table, he leans back in his chair – making the poor thing creak ominously – and grins from under his mustache at you. bow deeply and politely as you can and introduce yourself with all formality. wordlessly ask if you may have a seat, sit, and order each of you another pitcher. apologize for beating up his kid, and ask him how the storm business is going. have a seat, lean back, and greet him with his full titles and salute him before draining the beer. politely ask to what do you owe this singular honor from the kami of storms and sea?

So I think we have a chance of alcohol actually improving the situation
>>1785101He did indeed.
Wonder whether he's just here for Ryukusa or if he came for the play/something else.
Also, wasn't it said in one of the earlier thread that Orochi actually survived that fight?

[XXX] have a seat, lean back, and greet him with his full titles and salute him before draining the beer.[+] Be deferential, but casual, maybe apologize a little, get past anything troublesome.[+] See if he's interested in something stronger the next round. You have just the thing. You stand before him for a moment, and then lean down, picking up the pitcher of beer in your left hand. He grins wolfishly at the show of leaving your right hand open, as unarmed as you appear to be. There's no chance he's unaware of your left hand's power though, so it's not exactly a threat you're making as much as a simple statement. You then sit down, crossing your legs elegantly and looking him in the eyes. His have a faint reddish glow deep in the pupils, a Great Kami's power. His bushy brows rise as you lift the bear towards him. “I am graced by your presence, Takehaya Susano-Oh-no-Mikoto, slayer of Yamato-no-Orochi and Steward of the Ninigi; with my apologies for any misunderstandings between us, I drink to you and your strength. Kompai!”“Kompai,” he rumbles, his voice thick and heavy with the sound of thunder. He drains his beer immediately, drinking the entire pitcher. He sets it down on the table firmly, and then looks at you suspiciously as you finish draining the rest of the pitcher he bought for you. He leans back as you exhale sharply, rather than letting out your breath in a soft 'kiyah' like most women do.“Next round is on me, if you want something stronger,” you offer....and you pull out the sake box the crane-girl gave you, setting it on the table in front of you.He looks at the box, then at you, and then gives a great big belly-shaking guffaw of laughter. “Hah, that's three barrels of the best wine in his palace your dad owes me!” You blink mildly, hardly daring to ask. Susano-Oh leans back and crosses his arms, looking very smug. “I told your dad that you were more like me than like him, and damned if I wasn't right!” Hey now, you got thrown out of heaven, uncle! Well, my dad is one of those remote figures of great power – I'm pretty happy here in the world. I blame my parental figures, who were all Yakuza. I'm no samurai. Eh, I'm not quite that grandiose a figure. My family thinks a lot of me but that's about it. So, do I get a jug for playing along, Great Lord? =^_~=

>>1785240Good to know, though I'm sure none of us were really worried she'd say something really dangerous to a Kami
>>1785181>In which way am I, if I may ask? I'm interested by what Susano thinks is the answer, even if I have a good idea of what Ryukusa's answer to this question would be

I'm no samurai.[XX] So, do I get a jug for playing along, Great Lord? =^_~=“In my defense, they kicked me out of Hell, and I was raised by thugs to be a thug, so it's to be expected, of course.” You take several swallows out of the sake box, and set it down with the handle towards him, and he studies it with the look of a man who has needed a drink for quite some time. “My father is a remote, powerful person, so I can't say he has had much of an impact on me.”“Hah, you and me both!” You keep the shock off your face by a supreme effort of will. Your dad is a Water creature and understands the nature of being diplomatic. On the other hand, you have just been told by a Great Kami you share a common thread, and that is more than a bit disturbing, to be honest. Also, casually insulting the creator of Japan is something you wouldn't even pretend to do. He takes your sake box and starts drinking....and after about four swallows opens his eyes, looking suspiciously at the box. You lean back casually, looking demure and lovely, and let him drink. And drink. And drink. And drink. Finally he sets it down with a loud gasp that makes several people look around and grab onto coats and skirts with the rush of wind that blasts through the walkways. “Hoooh, that's a nifty little wine-box you have there, Horobi; does it ever end?”“I'm not that person yet, uncle; I'm just Ryukusa.” You get a double eyebrow raise for that one and you take the box back and take a nice long drink. “I'd say you probably half emptied it. Mind you, I was drinking with a water oni-child before, so it wasn't anywhere near full.” you hope Inau-kun took advantage of that too. “It only stands to reason that I'd turn out a little bad. But you still do me a great honor. I don't mind the comparison at all.”He leans forward, one fist on his knee and one eye half closed, the other gazing at you with enough intensity to pierce a stormy sky right to the Sun. “Even though I'm renowned as a slayer of your kind, what with Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi and all?” He's not being particularly belligerent, or even threatening, to be honest. The challenge isn't even one you would consider a 'challenge' as much as a 'oh yeah?' sort of thing. Oh, I believe the sword's done a lot of that. You, I don't know for sure, so.... Come on, uncle, I'm supposed to blow up Japan, I haven't much right to say anything! Even though. It's not like I don't have a share of blood under my claws. Should I, Susano-Oh? I'm not really in a position to judge, I'm no priestess. I'm not going to fight you, you know, but no, I'm not thinking that you're a slayer of my kind without cause.

[XXX] Come on, uncle, I'm supposed to blow up Japan, I haven't much right to say anything![X] Even though. It's not like I don't have a share of blood under my claws.[X] I'm not going to fight you, you know, but no, I'm not thinking that you're a slayer of my kind without cause. It's totally unladylike, but you give a soft snort of laughter. “Sorry, future ruin of Japan here, not really going to pretend that I'm qualified to make that judgment call. It's not like I don't have blood all over my claws and swords, Ojisan, some of it from people who were my teachers and fellow Yakuza.” He sits back up, looking at you thoughtfully. You push the box towards him calmly. “You know I'm not stupid enough to fight you, and you know I'm not that easily upset. I may be a woman, but I'm also the Daimyo of clan Ryuu, and I have a lot of responsibilities.”“Your dad isn't easy to get riled up either,” he muses, and you suppress an atavistic shudder at the amount of cunning this man actually possesses compared to the stories. He is a creature of Fire and Void, but also of Water, and it's a little frightening to see how intelligent he is up front.Okay, more than a little frightening.“I think, if you don't mind my saying so, that you had reason for the killing you did, regardless of the weapon it was done with. The Grass-Cutting Blade might hate my kind, but somehow I doubt that a sword could get the better of you, Ojisan.” He grins wolfishly at you again. “There's also one other thing that really tells me you're here for something a little more than baiting me.”Susano-Oh's mouth twists into a strange sort of bushy frown. “Oh yeah?” He takes a deep drink from the box again, and while he does drink, it's not nearly as much as he seems to drink.
>>1785510Ryukusa is really good at walking the tightrope with powerful beings huh. I suppose being Water helps with that.
>>1785510“Aside form your first look over, you haven't hit on me once, Susano-Oh. You have been giving me respect for my choices and loves.” He lowers the box to the table and stares into your eyes. You politely look away. “You respect the blessing of my marriage by your sister. My wife would be honored by your appreciation of that. I appreciate it.”He suddenly guffaws laughter, the wind dancing through the crowd, and distressing all the girls and women with skirts (some of those panties are kind of cute) and leaving people scrambling for their brochures and pamphlets (those fan-boys are quick when they might lose those photos of their idol!). You smile, looking down at your hands upon your thigh, and very glad you chose pants. “You're just like he said, even if you're a thug and a pervert! Smart. Really smart.”Are you two all right? No problems? No, aniki. My master is investigating some talismans, but I believe they are simply protections for the play; there were offerings as well, so I do not think that any kami will be offended. You can go in if you like, I'll join you shortly.I do not feel comfortably leaving you alone with him, aniki. You take the box and drink some more yourself. Of course, you can drink a lot more than this and not be more than mildly inebriated, even if it really strong wine. He looks at you and rubs his chin thoughtfully. “So, you intend to do what my sister has asked of you? Even if it isn't what you want?” I hesitate to call your question foolish, but yes. Don't be ridiculous, Uncle! Of course! ….I know how much pain she is in, Susano-Oh. I can't do nothing. You know who my wives are, Uncle, and what they have suffered, don't you? The little space I live in reflects the bigger space she lives in; I will be bigger too.

>>1785529>The little space I live in reflects the bigger space she lives in; I will be bigger too.Could you clarify this? Like does it mean we think we'll ascend to the level of kami and leave behind our demi-humanity?

[XXX] You know who my wives are, Uncle, and what they have suffered, don't you?[XX] ….I know how much pain she is in, Susano-Oh. I can't do nothing.[X] The little space I live in reflects the bigger space she lives in; I will be bigger too.[+] It's a duty, but that doesn't mean I am going to do it badly. No offense meant.Setting the box down you slump lower in the chair, even more unladylike, but the curling of it makes you feel comfortable, almost like being coiled. You cross your arms and stare at the box, until he lifts it, whereupon you instead stare at the table. “....I've been through a Hell, you know, Ojisan? Not one of ours. Not even Chinese or American Hell. I don't even know what kind of hell it was.” Susano-Oh doesn't look directly at you, but drinks deeply – and actually – from the box before handing it back to you. You take it from his hand with your tail.….you may be a little drunk. He does you the courtesy of not looking directly at you as you take off your public face and sow him your private one. “We don't forget, us Water dragonettes. The others, my wives, my lovers, my loved ones....they do get to forget, a little. They don't have the perfect and absolute recall I do. So, their suffering does pass into memory eventually. They might be traumatized and injured and wounded, but they can grow beyond it.” you look at him and he glances at you as you transfer the box to your hand. “You know who they are, what was done to them, don't you Ojisan?”He nods, making a gruff noise in this throat. It tells you that he knows them through and through, as individuals and as Inari. You drink deeply and he leans one arm on the table, a confidant, a listener.
>>1785725You set the box down, and he doesn't take it back this time. It makes you sigh softly, knowing that you can't drink anymore. You leave it on the table though. “what was done to me isn't that important.” He lifts one bushy eyebrow. “It's not. It's nothing unusual as far as I am concerned. Just politics and stuff. But they were hurt. That matters.” You wave your tail at the darkening sky outside the covered walkway. “My little world isn't really that important in the scale of things. It's not like Shinkai, but it is like Shinkai.” He is looking at you, his expression unhappy, but not angry or threatening. “A small reflection, of Shinkai, complete with her suffering reflected in little pieces of mirror.”You let your head fall back and look up at the ceiling. “She showed me her pain, Ojisan. I felt it, all of it, for just an instant. I would much rather be back in that Hell, pining for my loved ones, than let her suffer that for one moment longer than I have to. But I can't just ignore the suffering I will cause here, you know?”“You could. You've ignored things before, taken the swift and sharp way.” Ouch. You deserved that, you suppose. Still, you've bled enough for those people. “The universe is bigger than I am. I have to be bigger too. I may not be doing it the way that everyone thinks it should be done, but only want to have to do it once.” He chuckles softly, and you look over at him, blinking. “You know, duty, but duty done well, instead of duty done unthinking?”He gives you a wry, unhappy smile. “Better to be the black robe behind the white one than the black robe behind the red one, eh?” What did you say? ….yeah. Yeah, that's it exactly. Now I feel bad, and I'll have to make offerings to apologize.... That sounds awfully familiar, Ojisan, you been seeing my onee-sama? Considering I put on the red robe all on my own, that's not a very good way to put it!
>>1785731>[x] That sounds awfully familiar, Ojisan, you been seeing my onee-sama?

>>1785731>[x] That sounds awfully familiar, Ojisan, you been seeing my onee-sama?Also, was considering both the 2nd and 5th options, even though they conflict. How about a "Maybe, but..." there?
>>1785731> Now I feel bad, and I'll have to make offerings to apologize....> ….yeah. Yeah, that's it exactly.
>>1785731> Now I feel bad, and I'll have to make offerings to apologize....Can't hurt
>>1785670Shintosim has a concept where the physical world is reflected in the spiritual world, but in smaller scale. So, the sufferign that Inari-as-Ryukusa's wives suffers is reflected in a way by the sufferign Amaterasu suffers. Ryukusa is going to help her family, and in doing so, her greater nature will help Amaterasu. "As below, so above". It's not literal, but more a sympathetic magic. Ryukusa fixes her clan's issues, horobi fixes amaterasu's issues. Ryukusa is also drunk.
>>1785731> Considering I put on the red robe all on my own, that's not a very good way to put it!>Standing behind the red one is certainly more painful for the ones involved, but I would be lying if I said it was always the worse choice. But in this case the white robe was chosen, and not by me. If the red robe had been chosen, it would be my duty to be behind it, as well. What is your opinion, Susano-Oh-kami-dono?>>1785795He's basically saying "it's better to be the executioner who has to deal with one condemned to death than being the one who has to keep the prisoner who has a fate worse than death".Or at least, this is what I understand.
>>1785915Sorry if it's not clear.I'm basically trying to say "I'm supporting the decision, no matter what I could argue before it was taken or the nature of the decision"
>>1785921I think it reads fine, anon!
>>1785915White robes are also worn by samurai who are to be executed, rather than red robes, which prisoners wore. Standing behind the samurai means you were chosen to bee his second. Standing behind the prisoner means you were chosen to test the sharpness of a katana and chop the head clean off - if it was well made. Only commoners get beheaded.
[XX] That sounds awfully familiar, Ojisan, you been seeing my onee-sama?[X] Now I feel bad, and I'll have to make offerings to apologize....You frown at him, recalling the rather unflattering way you've thought about him in the role that Horobi would be playing. Of course, it WAS Amaterasu-Omikami who first made the comparison, but you did use it a few times yourself. “I owe you offerings, I suppose....so you been talking to Jinyuu-onee-sama, have you? That sounds like what she would says, sort of.”He leans back and grins, picking up your box of sake and drinking a prodigious amount. He sets it down with a loud sigh that makes everyone nearby shiver in the cool breeze. “Your mother, actually. She's fond of that sort of thing. 'Would you prefer a white robe, or a red robe? Would you wear the black robe to stand behind the white robe, or would you wear the black robe to stand behind the red robe?'” Staring at him seems to be the in thing this evening. He leans back, lacing his fingers behind his head.“Now me, I'm a 'stand behind the red robe' kind of person. Simple, effective, basic sort of thing. Oh, I could come up with clever plans and make them work – like with Yamato-no-Orochi – but that's a lot of hard work. You, you're the kind of person who stands behind a white robe. You do the job just right, careful, clean, precise. Takes time and effort, but you do it well, right?” You nod solemnly. “The way I see it, better you than me. So, I'm going to go watch your wife make a fool out of some dumb oni, and laugh loud and hard at Kuraokami's face-plant in the horse-apples, and maybe kick some ass later.” He stands up and stretches. “Maybe chase a few skirts, see if I can't convince the wife that a few new maids might be good for the Heaven.” He frowns. “Better check what's under those skirts though – gotta watch out for those traps, y'know.”Boggled, you stare as he suddenly winks at you and hands your sake-box back. “You're a good tyke, Ryukusa. Time to change your clothes though. Can't wear a red robe all the time.” He stands up and there is a massive gust of wind and several accompanying shrieks and shouts, and not a few embarrassed giggles and at least one muffled 'oomph' as someone gets a face-full of clean, white panties.
>>1785962It's a few minutes before you stand up, and when you do, you realize you've had a lot to drink. Not enough to impair you, but enough that you'd hesitate to face Kiki-hime without warning. So you close your eyes, superheat your blood, and let the steam rise from around you. You also wash out your clothing and find the fact that people are looking at their beer funny, being far more drunk than they were a few seconds ago.You find Er Yin and Kiku waiting for you near the beginning of the line. Kiku-chan immediately looks concerned, but you shake your head. “I'm fine, darling Kiku. I think....” Er Yin smiles slightly. “I think I've either just been told to grow up, or been given a backhanded compliment about being a Successful Horobi rather than a Good Susano-Oh.”Kiku looks baffled, and you can't say you blame her. “Then, all is well, Ryukusa-sama?” asks Er yin softly, her hand finding your shoulder unerringly. You take Kiku's hand and head towards the desk, and smile uncertainly as you see one of your niji-chan waiting for you at the desk, tickets in hand.“....you know, I don't really know how to answer that question,” you murmur softly. It occurs to you that you would have totally sucked as a priestess.>To Be Continued as:Inau-kun.Akari-chan.Er Yin-sensei.Yui-chan.Ryukusa.

>>1785988>Er Yin-sensei.Thanks for running, I had a lot of fun! It's neat how, despite their reputations, both Susano'o and Enma seemed to put their most genial face forward with us, though did the Storm God do anything deliberate to make Ryukusa lose track of her sobriety!
>>1786120Meant to be a "?" Instead of an "!"
>>1786120Deliberate? No. But Ryukusa is only a tyke in comparison, despite being a Water dragonette. He did try and push her a bit. He was being a good uncle however.____. Just like in certain organization.
Heya XS, just wanted to pop in and let ya know I'm still reading this lovely story, evne though I'm hardly ever here for a live one!Currently a bit behind though, and have moved archive binging from the point of the Date
It seems we have a winner by one vote: Inau-kun. Getting inside the head of a born and raised demigod (with some gender identity issues?) should be interesting. >>1787744Glad you are enjoying.
>>1788080That sounds like a lot of fun indeed. Inau hasn't gotten too much screentime lately, though I suppose the date alone took a while so that's not particularly surprising.
>>1788080Inau-kun wasn't around for the fight the play is based on, right?
>>1788118No, she was not among Ryukusa's people at the time. Shoko and Yuuhi were
>>1788080Inau-kun is one of my favorite characters so I am looking forward to see things from her perspective.
Is Inau going to be watching the play or?
>>1792376Is it even during, or a bit of timeskip?
Inau, Shoko and Ryukusa dating when
>>1792376So we're missing the play?
>>1793425looks like, which is a shame
>>1793509I expect it to be spoken of in passing, and we were there for the event it's based on anyhow.
>>1793558But Kiki is my favorite character and I wanted to see her doing something she loves doing, so seeing the real thing isn't really soothing anon
>>1793746Hah, well maybe we can talk XS into writing out the play some time.
>>1792511It will make more sense later>>1792622Good question.>>1793425>>1793509>>1793558No, the play will not be missed.
>>1793955Hmm... if Er Yin weren't on the list, I would have thought we were stepping back then leading up to the event from another perspective. Oh well, I'm sure it'll be good regardless.
