Currently a strange new undead requires our attention and some of our minions are experimenting with blacksmithing.

WOOOO!! Also, conveniently all out of undead pics for the moment.Sadly, I must also say goodnight. Gotta be up early tomorrow. See ya later, you crazy one-eyed sonuvabitch.
>Abominations progress. You finally address the strange, soft undead that cobbled itself together from spare parts and magical energy. You sit across from it on acomfortable seat made from the ornate stone coffin of a prominent, long dead nobleman. Beckoning the sluglike creature towards you, it oozes slowly across the floor, small, soft feet of wet, slimy flesh pattering softly on the floor as its single, small eye peers up at you with the blind adoration of a faithful dog>Master Thrane! This one... This one is truly honored to be addressed by you! This one is... Sorry... To report that it does not seem to be useful to you... No matter how this one tries it cannot grow! It cannot develop the way your better servants can! This one knows not what is wrong. Perhaps Master, in his unending wisdom, can help? If this one is indeed useless it will feed itself to the flesh horrors gladly!"You smile at the odd undead loyalty and eloquence, patting it gently on its damp "head" with your large hand. The nodules of bone and Grey matter had retreated into the creatures skin but the voice within your own mind, a gift you struggled to master flawlessly, signals you this creature may have much more to offer than it thinks."Little one, I have no useless servants and I believe you are FAR from useless. I believe you simply require a... push... in the right direction. I admire your zeal and I believe I have just the catalyst to fuel something truly astounding..."Slicing open a fingertip on a tooth you loose a single, fat drop of blood onto the Abominations skin, the liquid being absorbed instantly. The Abomination quivers, its eye blinking rapidly as its body twitches, curling inward on itself.>Oh! Oh dear! Oh dear! This one is frightened Master Thrane! What... What is happening!"You clasp your hands and lean forward, whispering to the spamming creature "That... Was your future. Now seize it little monster. Show me your worth">Abomination growth- the abomination is a unique buff/support unit. You can choose to upgrade its abilities to improve/ alter its buffs and debuffs, its own personal combat damage, etc.>Psychic range-while within the graveyard your minions will receive a +1 INT bonus. >Mind over matter- weak willed enemies near the Abomination will face damage and can possibly become Puppets.>Mobility- its Sluglike form offers little speed but after developing gas sacks and small wings the Abomination will be able to move at a higher rate of speed >other
>>1714102>Mind over matter- weak willed enemies near the Abomination will face damage and can possibly become Puppets.Well this can be good for dealing with swarms of terrified peasants wielding shitty farm tool weapons

>Abomination has gained Mind over Matter Lv1>"Oh Dear! Oh Dear! Something... Is... Ha-happening Master Thrane! What.. What does this one do!?!"You watch, in silent observation as the skin of the Abominations back splits in three, long slits. Swollen, purple-pink brain matter swells through the slits, tendrils of thin, mucus covered tissue waving in the air. The Abomination suddenly stops shivering, its clouded single eye clearing as it focuses, all its tendrils drifting forward to point at a single piece of bone on the floor.>"This one... Feels ... Different Master Thrane.... Stronger...."With a sudden pulse of pale, blue light the bone fragment shoots into the air, coming to a completely still rest at head height. With a blurring snap it flies through the air faster than your eyes can track, pinning a plump, curious rat to the floor."I told you, my dear little creature. I do not have useless creations."You say proudly, standing and walking away as the Abomination burbles happily to itself and continues testing its abilities.>Cont
>>1714654>Sorry real life intervened for a bit. Had to take a phone call from the familial unit.>19. A Crude forge almost as good as the real thing! After properly punishing themselves with bone clubs to the forehead until the clubs broke, your Zombies march back into the burnt out forge, determined not to fuck up again. Sweeping away the ashes and char of the previous attempt they employ Setgash and his Skeletons to create tools. Molded bone and dense stone become hammers and chisels. A large block of granite that was once a massive grave marker is hauled in and set up as a anvil at the cost of a clumsy Zombies toe.A repurposed Sarcophagus is filled with lumps and chips of wood, a roaring fire built in and stoked down to coals. A basic chimney built into the walls and down the tunnel channels the smoke away from the crypt. >Review the Aberrations findings.Striding quickly through the main chamber of the crypt you summon the Aberration to your side. The tentacular monstrosity sprouting legs and claws, it crawls to you quickly, bowing the mass of eyestalks, tentacles and mouthparts that make up its head.Extending your hand you grip a proffered tentacle, stiffening as you are taken back into the monsters memories, seeing through its eyes..Distorted, magnified images flash before your eyes, a feeling of hot, dry wind under your wings. You turn your sight downward and take in the sights you were sent to see.Legions march upon the countryside, ragged clumps of men and women in mismatched plate, in chain, in bone and leather ,in their own tattooed skins. The countryside burns, villages and towns ransacked, smoke rising from the pyres where their men and old folk burn. Monstrous beasts stride along the ground. Creatures shaped like men but coated in thick fur, howling like dogs as they lope along in packs. The skies swarm with winged beasts, harpies, gargoyles and wyverns twist and squabble in the air. On the ground,Hhulking ogres and trolls, hefting clubs studded with swords and some wielding bows made from entire saplings bound together. The witless creatures roar and smash everything in their path as they hurry out of the way of... Something..The body of a man but nearly thirty feet tall, clad in armor made from the bones of mammoths and the hides of trolls. A axe hefted over its shoulder with a blade nearly 9 feet across. A weathered, bearded face looks out over the marching army, the swarming beasts and hefts its axe with a roar that is answered by dozens of others.A smaller figure, nearly three times the height of a normal man sits atop the back of a armored mammoth. Runes and tattoos swirl along his skin as he hefts a massive axe, looking at the twists of smoke in the distance that coil from the town of Sverelfan. His army begins their work, chopping into the forest around them, creating the bases for rolling towers and catapults, cheering all the while."UNDVEK! UNDVEK! UNDVEK!" ...With a shudder you release the Aberration and smile down at the creature, impressed at its bravery to remain so long in hostile territory. >The Kardel horde has arrived in Sverelfan territory. >>1716770As a backup, we could certainly retreat to the forest lair and collapse the tunnel behind us - but why abandon a perfectly good lair when they're not quite upon us yet?
>>1716761It's a rag tag group of raiders and monster, if we take out the monsters and leaders before the whole army can be mobilized organization and structure will break down. Those who chose to fight will die, those who run will die, those who hide will also die. We just have to take out their leaders and hero's.

>14. Sophie will have some success. You gather all of your minions, minus a handful of zombies left behind to hold the Crypt and ensure Sophie is not overpowered by the prisoners.Standing in the cool, dark air of the the graveyard you revert to your human form, garbed in a black cloth under the light mail used by the Graveyard guards. At your waist is a razored longsword and your eyes glow in the darkness."Those savages from the northern realms, the beast men who struck down two of my greatest servants have come! They come to take OUR rightful prey! To strike US down and take OUR heads as trophies for their false gods!"You roar, gesturing towards the glow on the horizon of the great hordes campfires and ransacked villages. Smoke curls into the dark, star filled sky from a dozen villages."Those men would challenge me. Their lives are forfeit."You conclude, leaping atop Setgashes shoulder and gesturing for your small army to follow you.Urziel marches along solidly across from your Risen, the two leading a group of Zombies each. Your Ripper leads the pack of Flesh Horrors at the rear, claws shredding the soil with every step. Your aberration reports from the air of the three possible targets.>The burning farming village- possibly a high number of inexperienced raiders.>The smoking convoy on the road- most likely a assault force of seasoned warriors>The Ransacked Coastal village-most likely a medium number of raiders and ships.

Rolled 17, 5 = 22 (2d20)I just realized something. We have blood magic to shapeshift, right? We do we have to shapeshift into the nude? Can't we just magik ourselves a layer of clothes on top?Expanding on that, couldn't we shapeshift a smog and mass soul reap our way through the enemies? Especially if they're unblessed. A collection of several dozen small dwellings, large barns and storage bins burning brightly become clearly visible as you grow closerScreams and the clash of metal on metal can be heard as the last few smatterings of resistance are beaten down, a collection of severed heads already mounted on long poles around a smoking pile of slaughtered men and old villagers. Women and children sit shackled under the watchful eye of several dozen men in hide armor and wielding notched axes and shields.A group of mounted, armored men canter around the ruins of the village, barking orders in their harsh tongue as they brandish their weapons. >>1717522Let's do a something like this: the zombie fun squad, ripper and horrors, risen flank out and kill from behind and the sides. The rest of the team swarms in like a horror. >pick your targets.>20 is still in effect. You step forward as the raiders begin gathering their prisoners, pushing the weeping villagers along with kicks and blows. A nimbus of dark energy gathers around your palm. Slowly you extend your arm and release the spell into the midst of the raiders. With a rumbling explosion they, a clump of the prisoners and side of the hill they stand upon all vanish. Ash and carbonised bone drift earthward as your soldiers run, howling into battle.Sethagh chatters as he charges forth, his Skeletons forming a wall of spears behind him as he crashes into a clump of Raiders. Men chop ineffectively at his stout limbs before being crushed into the ground or speared upon his claws before being thrown through the air. The skeletons surge into the disorganized mass of men, spears and swords sinking deep into flesh, blood arcing high into the air as the razored bone is pulled free. The raiders heavy axes crack bone and score lines across the hardened skulls but the momentum is too strong. A ogre falls backward, heavy club forgotten as your Ripper buries its claws into its chest, a pair of flesh horrors diving into its broad belly claws first. The mighty beasts roars of agony ring across the battlefield as your Risen leads his Zombies in.His blade flashing and knocking away a raiders notched Sword before sweeping around and opening his belly. Kicking away the dying man he grabs another by the throat, tossing him into the heavy swing of a spiked club, his brain matter clinging to the cruel metal. A bolt of blue fire shoots from his hand, knocking back a charging raider and igniting the hide chestpiece of his armor. As the cursing man struggles to get back up a long spear plunges through his throat. Urziel roars as he swipes with his massive clawed paws, shearing through flesh and pulping bone with powerful blows. No matter how fierce the flames of skin burn, the northmen do not however. Their bodies refuse to ignite. With a shout of rage the Oath riders surge in, axes and spears shining in the firelight."Forward! For Undvek! Slay the cowardly undead!"Shouts one, a red bearded man with blue runic tattoos swirling down his arms. Their charge pierces through the center of the formation, knocking aside zombies and trampling them underhoof. Axes and swords swing, opening up gaping rents in your soldiers flesh before the charge passes through. The Raiders and Oath Riders regroup, the remaining Ogre hefting a massive stone hhammer and roaring its challenge as your troops fight their way free of the first assault. Bodies litter the ground but your forces have taken no casualties, the northmen having been taken by surprise. A bolt of blue flame aimed at the head of the Raid leader is swatted aside by a rune inscribed axehead with a snort of contempt. >Charge before they can charge>Open up with a magical assault. The pulses reduce the men they impact to paste, spattering them across the ground in wet pieces. Sundered armor falls to ground in smoking pieces as your barrage ends. The charging Ogre falls with a puzzled look on its dim face, touching the sizzling hole punched neatly through its heart and out the other side.Lightning crackles across the battlefield along with gouts of deep blue flame, burning smoking holes through the raiders, bone and metal glowing alike under the intense heat. Your Risen roars in triumph as he unleashes a tide of flame that scorches a clump of men to charred bones. His Imp flies overhead loosing crimson fireballs that cling unnaturally to the flesh of those they impact, scorching flesh from bone like a living inferno.Urziel and Setgash surge forward, maws opening wide with surges of their own inner fire. Claws and blades clash, black and crimson blood splashes the ground in great gouts. The stalwart Oath Riders are dismounted, their steeds butchered. >12, 15. Not without a fight. The red Bearded leader of the Oath Riders stands tall among his battered dozen. Armor rent and bloodied they trade blows with your warriors. Their Runic axes leave vicious wounds in the bodies of your flesh Horrors, sending your Risen back with a deep slash across his chestpiece. Even Setgash is resistant, the claws of one massive arm chipped and broken from the blows.Sending a zombie stumbling back with its innards falling out among its feet he cracks the undeads head open with a downward swipe, facing your boldly "Come! Craven undead FILTH! The Lord of Battle smiles upon our deaths! FOR UNDV-""Silence"Your voice cuts across the battlefield as you stride through your troops. Your armor falls to the ground as your body shifts and changes, rising head and shoulders above your Zombies and the Oath Riders."You want to face a challenge little man? Face me.... And face your worthy....deeeeaaaath"Your voice warps and distorts as you approach, your skin becoming armor plate, your skull a armored helm of fanged bone. Your fingers shift into black blades as long as swords. You stand before them and beckon them close with your clawsThey die bravely, that can be said. Surging forth into your troops they hack and slash wildly, blind to pain and fearless.Thrusting forward you sink your claws into the belly of one, the bone punching through his armor. To your surprise he grips your massive wrist, pulling himself closer to hack at your arm, carving chips from the black bone and splitting the skin beneath. Snarling you clench your claws, shredding his midsection. Leaving the man to his fate as two wayward pieces you slash aside the sword of a second, the dagger in his off hand scoring a line across your chest before you stab through his throat, flinging him over your shouldering in a arc of blood. Stepping forward you pull a Zombie back and face your foe, The Oath Rider leader. With a roar he draws a sword, his axe in the other hand. Ducking under your swipe He thrusts into a gap in your hide, releasing a spurt of black blood before rolling backward to avoid your enraged blow.Seems Hes quite the capable fighter >Fight aggressively- overpower him>Fight Defensively-choose your blows >Fight Dirty-Doomblast to the face>Other

>>1718301>>1718323Gonna pass out. Wish the remainder of you well.Suggestion: This was the easiest fight of the lot, and we got lucky. Thats it. -Setgash needs to get a massive upgrade to durability and strength. see how much bone he can pull from the battlefield.-Those ogre corpses will be a nice upgrade to our zombie fun squad, and we can outfit our zombies in all the looted gear that has enchantments on it that is leftover. Maybe even research some.-thrane is going up against one big motherfucker. We need to upgrade our skeleton more, and our claws more.-The bear needs more fire and demonology. We need to do "blood of my blood" to the lightning mage, and get him to work on taking over the criminal element of the city. Have him waiting at our crypt when we return home so that can be done.

Also, I propose we leave one survivor out of all this - we'll tell him to take a message to Undvek himself that in Islavind he and his men found out why little boys and girls are afraid of the dark.
>>1718601I'm pretty sure that's these unwashed barbarians' god Mal
>>1718672I'm thinking their god is a bit like Odin, glorifying the hero's death and welcoming them in a warrior's heaven. How do you scare someone that's not afraid of being killed like a man? You tell them you're going to kill them like a dog. Not one of them fears arrows or soldiers with swords and shields, but perhaps they're unnerved by a twisted, formless blackness that comes to you when you sleep.
>>1718694Then let's make sure we cripple our enemy right now and leave him to beg for death. And deny him over and over and over again

We dont need to expose our presence until its necessary. Gathering as many resource, maxing out our zombie, skeleton, imp, and horror count is crucial.Keep in mind the enemies we fought were just low tier or even rank and file compared to what is out there. We need to prepare. Or another option is to take all the resources before they can, and move southward as a horde. No need to really fight them right away. Perhaps even lead them into another army.

Do that with some specialized minions with Camo like Ripper and raid raiding parties with the others that way they dont feel safe in camp or outside of it. Because if it is just destroying raiding groups, that is sort of normal for a horde, sure it is dangerous to raid but once you get back to cam you are safe. >>1723133So in other words, the military handle the bulk and the numbers, we handle the morale.Speaking of which, I think I've figured out how to deal with the horde. If we find Undvek and kill him, dominate him or otherwise make him unfit to lead, the horde will disperse.

Gripping their weapons they stand, eyes turning to follow your progress as you approach the fallen Oath riders. Drizzling a healthy amount of blood onto their faces and gaping wounds you move onto their mounts, a sprinkling of fat, black droplets across the powerful horses heads. 4chan ate my initial reply so basically here's the abridged version. On the way back to the crypt your Aberration and imps spy from the air the early morning assault on Sverelfan by Undveks horde. The city holds against the initial assault but it does not look promising. A massive cloud of dust and specks in the distant sky signal the imminent arrival of Islavind forces. Returning to crypt Sophie reports that among the remaining prisoners you have..>3 with potential for simple magic>1 Blacksmith>1 Herbalists apprenticeSophie approaches you about experimenting on your Ogre Zombies to increase their damage. Skerath has arrived to report along with a dozen humans he has brought as tribute to you. He is wounded and seems apprehensive to return to Sverelfan.>Blood and assign the Skilled humans>Improve the Crypt>Upgrade minions (9 souls available)>Have Minions perform a daytime assault>other
>>1724551Well that's hurtful :(
>>1724652You know what they say; better to get an eye out than a rumor.
>>1724648>Blood and assign the Skilled humansHave the Blacksmith and Herbalists go into town to buy supplies they need, having out lighting mage supply them with money.>3 with potential for simple magic.1 go with natural and druid type magic, 1 go for healing and hexing while the last will be another necromancer working with Sophie as an assistant.>Improve the CryptDig deep, make a room just for Risen and our bear to practice demonology, a crypt for Setgesh and our lesser minions and makeshift prison for our P.O.Ws
>>1724648>Blood and assign the simple humansGet the blacksmith improving the runed weapons and/or carving runes into the regular weapons, and see if the herbalist's apprentice can work with Sophie to make anything useful.>OtherI think it would be useful to fleshcraft one of the prisoners into a living bomb and situate them in the tunnel between the crypt lair and the cave lair. Just in case one of them gets attacked, we have a relatively safe escape route.
>>1724648>>Blood and assign the Skilled humans
>>1724648> Blood and assign the skilled humans. The smith is obviously going to work the forge while the herbalist begins training under Sophie in alchemy. Start getting our potion on.> Blood of My Blood for SkerathSomething of a reward for his service, though he has to know that he's going to be following us into the thick of battle.> Give the potential mages over for training under Skerath or Sophie. If they're kids, all the better. We want to destroy as much of their memories of their old lives as possible, and replace them with a near-fanatical devotion to Thrane.> Upgrade Urziel's Intelligence with 4 souls. We have to. I mean, he's got even more power than the Risen, and all that's holding him back is that he still retains a savage animal consciousness.
>>1724704>>1724750Wait wait, make the mages, one druid, one ice mage and one earth. The druid can help out our Herbalist growing a garden, the ice mage is just good for offensive actions and defensive actions and the earth mage can help make a mine and fine metals and such. Also, ask what happened to Skerath? If he needs bodyguards or for us to kill some people tell him to tell us.
>>1724946Those /sound/ fine, but we have no way of learning the druidic arts as we have no captive druids to eat/study under, and we are effectively a undead BBEG. We oppose the laws of nature simply by existing. Elementalism is comparatively easier, since you're channeling a single element at a time (unless you are exceptionally skilled and/or powerful). As for Skerath; he's a mage with both power and experience on a battlefield. He was likely enlisted to help defend the town against the barbarian horde.
>>1724648>Blood upgrade to Sekrath if its not already taken place, it is a reward for his service, and a practicality. Ask him what in town that bothers him so?>Blood control over the 5 humans, assigned to Sophie. the teams first task will be to dog pile the Ogres and upgrade them.>As much as we like the minions, upgrading them takes second string to upgrading ourself. Simply soul drain all 12 prisoners, bringing us up to 21 souls. We eat them all, and then as many bodies as our belly will hold. The other minions eat all the flesh they can handle as well. The city is very busy, I think it might be time to have our minions raid the rest of the graveyard, and start hauling bodies back. Raise up our max zombies and from there split the meat and bones with setgash and the crew. The number of minions we have will be able to turn this place upside down pretty fast.
>>1725677building on this:The other minions will get their turn for souls in the next harvest.
I'm thinking that we should invest in another folklore-inspired monster; the Nuckelavee. A skinless, demonic centaur-like monster that breeds pestilence, famine and horror wherever it tread.Obviously we'd need to put together the proper..materials..for such a terrible creation, but our new friend Undvek has been kind enough to provide. Such a generous man. We should make sure to share our glorious work with him, and to thank him in person.Getting into the crunch of it, I figure that the first step in bringing such a beast to 'life' would be to flesh-craft the bodies of a draft horse and an ogre together. The second step would be to bind a significantly potent demon inside the body. The final step would be to empower the fiend with our black, blighted blood, and the screaming souls of at least a dozen humans.
>>1725749I like it, but i would just treat it as an upgrade for the deathknights we have. There are plenty of riders, and horses. The ogres are significantly larger than a human, but our mutated zombies are big enough to be hulking, but not gigantic.tl/dr: Fuse the knights and mounts if you so wish, and cursed allows it. Would be easier. For as much fun as it is for us to create new creatures, each special snowflake sorta adds to the complexity of tracking shit for cursed...unless there was a nice upgrade for simply disassembling the ogres for their muscle mass to add to the knights, then feeding the bones to setgash.
>>1725749I can agree with that idea, so long as we can do my idea of an undead hekatonkaries as well.>>1724648>Blood and assign the Skilled humansThe mages get blooded, have them work on a different kind of magic. >>1724648starting off by saying if I step on any toes, disregard my post, pretend it never happened if it makes you feel better. I will be following Cursed's roll system. I dont have access to the docs, so I am not sure of the real stats, but here we go.---The coolness of the crypt is welcome respite from the prior battle. Taking human form you find yourself lounging quite lazily on a pile of rags despite the inevitable conflicts to come. Despite bleeding, and possibly missing a few fingers Skerath looks at you expectedly while you ponder for a moment finally you beckon him over, your hand momentarily shifting into a smaller form of your true claws as you gesture. The collective mortals shudder in fear, one man clearly pissing himself. Its the little things in unlife that really make it all worthwhile. You look apprasingly over the chattel Skerath brought, a dozen in all. He shakes his head dismissively. Gathering a twisting ball of energy you flick it over the crowd; the ball flys true, uncoiling and shooting out inky tendrils, slipping past the 5 mortals with a shred of talent and grabbing violently onto the collected men and women. Lifting your hand and then snapping it down sharply the captives follow suit, levitating off the ground and subsequently slamming down, souls ripping from flesh in dramatic fashion. 12 limp corpses obtained. 12 souls obtained."Skerath....you look fatigued. Drink." A long black nail slices open your flesh, blood filling a long forgotten chalice supplied by an equally long forgotten corpse of some nobility. Though he obeys you, you can see displeasure behind his eyes, you control his will, but not his desires. Lifting the vessel to his lips you can smell his dripping blood mixing with the grave dust. Exquisite. He partially drains the chalice, remaining stoic up until the point he falls over screaming. The mage's skin turns chalk white, and fingernails begin to split from tip, giving way to blackened claws. Gagging turns to vomiting and writing as he rips at his chest, shredding already tattered robes. Interestingly the tattoos that limn his body start to writhe, taking new shape and line. He finally rises after a few more moments of agony, chalk white skin slowly returns to it's natural color, he wipes away tar black blood from his mouth with a handful of rags "My Lord, as a slave to you, I am more than I ever was as king to myself." The risen is already at hand outfitting the mage in...somewhat fresher clothing, gauntlets obscuring his most obvious mutation. Though the slight scent of a fresh thunderstorm may give him away. "there is work to be done." You smile to yourself, its very quaint when the mortal servants think this change of heart is their own. The grin on your face grows larger and larger, eventually the masquerade of your human form begins to give way as your mouth stretches unnaturally from ear to ear, fangs protruding in ghastly perversion of joy.
>>1724648Shuffling nervously after the last two displays the 5 prisoners are forced to kneel behind you, the risen's imps cackling evily as they grope and rip at hair, forcing their necks to crane up at you. Talking to them is almost tedious, repetitive every time. You were about to offer them a choice of life and death, perhaps a small speech. Instead irritation at their very existence snags you. Grabbing the nearest with one hand you squeeze his cheeks open, forcing your dark blood down his throat. Eyes rolling wildly, foaming, with black veins spreading across his body before slowly vanishing he gets up. Noticeably the young man's musculature has defined, and increased. Finally he returns to a kneeling position, silent. The imps restrain the other prisoners with perhaps a bit much glee, their claws poking thru a few cheeks. One by one the process is repeated. You notice Sophie smiling eagerly at your work, her sick heart is a thing to behold. Finally you approach a powerfully built woman in a heavy leather apron, violently struggling going so far as to bite off an imp's finger who decided to ruin her face. "FUCK YOU HELL SPAWN" The imp's finger is not present on the floor, she swallowed it. Impressive tenacity. "I almost mistook you for my bear, human." She manages to catch a glance at the bear before spitting blood into your face. You give her a small not before grabbing her shredded face and repeating the process. She continues to scream profanities throughout the transformation before finally shutting up. Regrettable as it was entertaining compared to the others. The imp's infernal blood and flesh seem to have bonded to her being, skin now slightly reddened and teeth visibly pointed. A pity her true will is gone, you somewhat despondently let go of a quip about her further resembling Urziel. Gritting her teeth she looks at you "I serve you.." before shuddering for a moment "...Fucker." very impressive will on this one, it will be a joy to break. In the time you were gone Sophie has had her minions dig out a series of small alcoves for about a dozen extra prisoners, each one nothing more than a notch in the wall with rusted iron shackles...and several chains hanging from the ceiling, some hooked. How lovely. The trio of magic users are escorted off to Sophie's chambers for further tutilage and training, while the Herbalist has already started eagerly collecting various grave mosses and bits of bone, morality gone, he takes to his new work with great excitement.Walking through your home you visit the..."forge"...it is a rough thing, but already there is something new. A shallow pit in the middle of the room with a stone outcropping forming some sort of container. The flaming form of urzile can be seen deep within. while coals atop blaze with an unnatural blue and purple, the smell of sulphur filling the room. Already your smith is collecting the slag and metals of the prior effort for reforging. The risen sits nearby the burning stones.
>>1724648"Massster....your hellforge...." he gestures, the flames reflecting off his smooth bald head. It is an ugly, brutal thing, the very essence of the neatherflames bringing it to life. With a voice like old leather trying to gargle gravel, the risen continues "it is not without itssss...flawss. The Bear musst remain....while...we work."wait...we? "We?" you look at the risen and notice a hammer in his hand "Yes....we. The Hellfire it iss powerful, it needss tending, a knowledgeable custodian." The Risen looks at the flames almost like a father to his child. The smith simply snorts and spits into the fire, an incorporeal face momentarily peers out at you before vanishing. This contraption is clearly useful, and dangerous. Pentagramic runes and wards pulse dimly in in the gloom, the fires not seeming to make as much light as they should.---Production of materials can begin, but at the cost of the Risen and Urziel for a given action phase.---Stegash and his crew of skeletons set to busily improving the crypt while you send out the Ripper, Skerath, Zombie "commandos" and Aberration to capture or kill people useful to the war effort. You have to admire her eagerness for the craft. The magical apprentices begin chanting, funneling their meager power to Sophie, preparing for her brand of necromancy. Setgash endlessly digs, his skeletal minions in tow removing great mounds of dirt tirelessly via burlap body bags. While mundane, you appreciate his meticulous attention to detail, even if it is a bit obsessive to the point of slowing any real progress. Your lair and tunnelways sport finely packed dirt, pressed with stone and gravel in numerous places, the slabs and rocks arranged into impressive motifs and low reliefs. It would seem you have an artist on your hands, in the form of an enormous, undead, skeletal horror. Hmm. You run a nail appraisingly along what is clearly a series of pictures involving you flaying a man to raise him as a skeleton. Seems he has not forgotten. You yank a small pebble from the wall which causes the bone colossus to turn it's cyclopian gaze at you. Flicking the pebble with your enhanced strength, it goes straight into the glowing purple eye socket of your minion, the rattle echoing against the crypt walls. A gout of purple flame surges from the Bone Warden's eye socket vaporizing the stone, as it returns to its work.Your casual harassment of the warden is interrupted by a noise you are unfamiliar with, but it is very loud, almost the sound of countless souls screeching combined with the shriek of tortured metal and an explosion, indistinct and urgent. A moment later a fireball surges through the cavern at you. With no time to react you are caught off guard; and relatively unharmed. Your clothing is burnt, and you will need to regenerate your eyebrows. This was not true fire. a small blessing. The acrid stench of sulfur fills the tunnels. Sophie is screaming as her minions swat flame from their bodies. After the commotion is over, precious little was really upset in this part of the lair. The forge. Using your enhanced speed you sprint to the forge in the span of a few breaths, navigating by familiarity rather than sight, a zombie is slammed out of the way and impacts against the floor before skipping into a wall, it's neck broken. You arrive at the forge...what was the forge room. The Risen is missing an arm and leg, propping itself up against the entryway, jittering hexagramic seals drawn in undead blood almost strain to hold back "it"..this thing."Hey fucker....I could twist your stupid little head off right now if you let me." a chorus of demonic voices intermingle with a woman's. Inside the chamber is an endless sea of shifting hellfire and twisting faces, an indistinct figure in the middle of it all. The volume of the chamber far too big for what was the forge room. Even for you, staring into that abyss causes your eyes, ears and nose to start weeping blood and your face goes numb.
>>1730355>it'll just melt the metal we're making
>>1730355Well shit, guess we'll be needing everyone to have a meal to regenerate their wounds. As for that thing we could make a deal with it
>>1730355The smith..of course. You grab the bridge of your nose in frustration, internal shifting of flesh staunches the flow of blood. You will not display weakness to whatever powers are attempting to impress you. The woman, or what was formerly called a woman, slams against an invisible barrier. The Risen's runes hold, but weakly. You get a chance to appraise her as she is content to leer at you with hatred and more than a dash of insanity. Your smith has undergone quite the transformation, her mouth a ragged gash of dagger like teeth, eyes blazing with hellfire. A large shaggy, almost ursine mane of hair runs down the curvature of her body, vanishing into the fire below. The bear, Urziel is nowhere to be seen. Her hands and feet end in crude semi articulated claws wreathed in balefire. The formerly powerful build now exaggerated in all aspects, the chaotic energies of hell unsure if it was a monster, hulking warrior, or poor attempt at temptation they were shaping. "I took yourrr bear." She declares in a discordant voice, speaking events out of sequence. "Broke it's BACK, ITS BACK!!! With my hammer! Then it's skull. I ate and ate those shards....Voices told me how." Her speach softens as she smiles "Took your man servant's arm and leg too. After the fire. It was luck of accident. I made a deal, traded the only thing I still had...Master....one of my masters now.YOU FUCKING CORPSE LEACH! You took my children, my husband! JUST COME IN HERE...its so lovelyy...We cant wait to show you such accomidationsss" She writhes in a way that is inappropriate for such a twisted creature and then spits a bubbling blob of burning pitch at you, but it just adheres to the invisible wall and sizzles until its gone. Pausing for a moment you finally speak through clenched teeth, your rage palpable "Shebitch...you....ARE...Miiiiiine. No others lay claim to what is mine." Your true nature begins to show through, face distorting, the demon simply smiles back at you. Your maw incorrect for speak, you rave on "FLESSSH..MINE. BONESS MINE! Sssssoul..isss...MINE." Plunging your claw through the barrier you grab her shoulder, and immediately your flesh begins to char without flame, turning to blackened coal. If possible, the possessed smith's smile grows larger. "Come..in...come..HOME!" Her burning grip yanks on your arm, pulling you into the hellscape inch by precious inch, the Risen valiantly tries to assist in hauling you away. She will not stop, but you are consumed with a pure vampiric greed, an impossible desire to regain your property.-Lost Urziel, Risen's essence has been ravaged, permanent loss to 2 demonology. Two imps are now running wild in your nest. Risen is crippled until donor limbs can be obtained. You dun goof'd.

>>1730404The struggle between Undead and Demon will have to wait for a moment. Lets see how our erstwhile raider force is doing.Ripper, Skerath, Zombie "commandos" and Aberration: 16 against a military hospital under seige.High above, the aberration watches the scenes unfold, Numerous white linen tents wave gentle in the breeze, the encampment boasts some of the last sturdy lumber from a recently destroyed logging village. The log walls are sturdy and tall, each sharpened into a point to prohibit breaching. Practitioners of medicine are seen working over ravaged bodies, the northerners are not gentile souls. Crushed and dismembered limbs, gashed chests and strange ailments of frost and soul afflict the wounded. A large pile of corpses is amassing in a corner of the camp, vibrant green grass giving way to mud mingled with blood. A blonde haired woman sighs by herself, enjoying a moment of respite before the aberration dives like a hawk snatching her from the camp with a muffled shriek. The inflight snack is crunched and enjoyed, the staff never noticing.Below the Zombies are lead by the Ripper and Skerath. One blending into the surrounding grass with a ripple of transparent flesh as it crawls forward, the other hiding in the treeline, overcharging his body for a devastating strike. The Zombie squad, slab muscles and clear eyes watch with a disconnected patience.Twentyeight regimental guards wearily guard the entry to the medical encampment vs your 8 minions. They are weary from the prior night's conflict, and some are injured, but their equipment is of a higher quality, and a few sport holy symbols etched or painted crudely onto their shields.>Undead slaves wat do?>Skerath wat do?
>>1730466lets assume Skerath is held a little higher than the average guard in this town, since he's a mage and stuff. Skerath does an "inspection" to distract the guards, commandos "gently" abudct doctors and nurses, abberation makes use of plaque magic and sppreads a little undead ebola.
>>1730466Before everything had happened, you were collaborating with Sophie on your most recent works. The Ogre's were forced to squat low in the older tunnels as you hacked away at their undead flesh, splitting open limbs, and cracking rib cages to be swung open like a french cabinet. The canvas laid bare before you, the ogre's sway uneasily with so much of their supporting bulk flayed to inoperability. One by one sophie's Zombies bring you your materials, the 12 headless corpses left over from Skerath's offering. Sophie and her apprentices busily flay muscle from bone, then pile tendons and organs into neat mounds. Your new apothecary methodically daubs strange unguents and liquids on the flesh, causing it to periodically twitch and swell. Over the next few hours you methodically place new tissue into the Ogre's, binding old with new via the caustic hiss of your blood. Slowly the Ogre's are closed, blood, potion, and necromantic magic completing the task. Standing before you are twin warriors made of pure slab muscle. Their bones massively reinforced and twisted, they resemble a gigantic grotesque exaggerated caricature of a circus strongman. Black veins slowly pump ichor to slabs of dense grey muscle, their joints popping with experimental movement. Each tracks you with small black eyes, massive shoulders as broad as a workhorse is long heaving, connected to arms better suited as tree trunks. the body gradually tapers down to short stocky legs somehow carrying the impossible mass. With a wave of your hand, you send them off. They lope along partially walking and using those massive arms to help like a great ape. One would not want to get hit by them. The risen had been busy as well, trying his hand at your own work. "Massterr...behold! I GIVE YOU...MY CREATIONSSsss!" A grotesque fusion of rider and steed stands before you, flayed of all skin, red and wet the creatures are clothed only in piecemeal armor. Bulging from the rider's stomach is a gristly horse head which bridges the gap between rider's torso and horse's chest. Broken fanged maws top the rider, and long, gangrely arms tipped in razored claws grip their former weapons. The spark of intelligence remains in these twisted forms. Flies buzz about the crowd, attempting to feast on putrid dripping fluid. Irritated you swat them away as each rider is inspected. The flies land on the rider you are looking at, only to dissolve on contact, its skin momentarily rippling as it absorbs the nutrients. Disgusting horrors each, surging with necromantic unlife, and foul potential. Their weapons seem to be corroding in their very touch, armor gaining a sickly tint and rusted pitting. Shock still, the creatures do not even move until you direct them away. They move with eerie silence as they trot away.

>>1730605>>1730586Skerath walks right up to the guard troop and immediatly begins commanding them with natural authority, each step discarging electric arcs visibly into the ground. "Solider, What is your name?!" A touch of thunder rolls off his words lending greater authority and awe. The troop he interacted with shoots ramrod straight despite red rimmed eyes "Corrinth! Who...who are you Sir?". Without missing a beat he responds "Commander Skerath under the authority of Lord Thrane. Who is your lieutenant here? Show me him, now." snapping his fingers quickly and impatiently each pop sounds akin to a muffled lightning strike. Everything is going flawlessly, they are eating out of his hand."Skerath....Yeh Black Cat..Rat." A man wearing a dented helm and dried blood rimming his mouth spits. The prior night had not been kind. "Yeh sold muh sister. I'll see ye gutt'd fer it. DON'NA Lisen ta him! Eh's a crimnal, an'a scum!" He is cut off mid tirade by a supercharged bolt that scours a hole through him, leaving a carbonized corpse standing in place of what was once a man. A chunk of hillside behind him explodes. "I am many things, and at this moment, your Commander. Your leadership is going to die soon, if not already dead, and I represent the new authority. Am I clear?" Arcs dance dangerously down his arm, now exposed, the sleeve having burnt away during his display.Looking at each other the men nod, whisper and come to consensus. An older man comes forward "I speak for us all. better to follow the Cat, than die for an absent lord. Most of us are debter's soldiers, pressed to this service. We never expected combat this far into the lines. What will you of us?" Thier incorrect assumption that Thrane is the Cat elicits a momentary chuckle from you. "Pack up the Injured, strip the camp of supplies and bring the practitioners. My servants are....unsettling...but Loyal. We are headed to regroup with powerful allies, and assess our strength. Prey you are worthy." The men follow him mostly out of fear for their lives, on the battlefield, at his hands, and the uncertainty of the future. The balk at the burly zombies that walk by them casually, and a for a moment one of the staff starts to struggle before the ripper manifests before him, where he abruptly faints. The stripping of the camp is thorough and near total, with the zombie's recruiting Sophie's own minions to aid in the toil with the humans. By now the soldiers are well aware they have made a mistake in their loyalties but play along with no other options left. A violent shaking takes it's body, as it begins to expel a foul brown slurry into the drinking water, tainting it for generations.---Back in the Crypt a struggle continues between Vampire lordling, and demonic she bitch. "Thraneeee, YOU ARE MINE, YOUR SUFFERING...IS MINE!" She yanks your arm up to the shoulder through the portal, your face beginning to come through, one eye seeing the true horror beyond, half your face sears not only from the environment but the impossible knowledge assaulting you. Your own machinations pale in this twisting morass of cruelty and insanity. A series of clawed hands begin to manifest, eager to rip your soul bloated essences apart for their own gain. Acting quickly you execute your leaching magic on her, burning blood coursing into your veins, surging you with strength and pain. Finally you get her arm to your mouth and clamp down, draining more of the hellish substance, equal parts glory, power, regret and insanity surge into you. The suffering is sanguine. Your eyes smoulder and with a wrenching of your blackened arm, you pull her through the portal entry. The Risen eyes her warily from a seated position Kopesh in hand, despite being maimed he is ready to defend you to the last. You restrain the Corrupted Hell Smith with the aid of your two Brutes, the former Ogres. In her weakened state she cannot effectively flight back, but savagely bites at their gigantic fists, clawing out bloodless chunks of flesh that would be a grave injury on a lesser creature. The brutes seem unaware of it, and indeed on their frames, it is almost insignificant. Curses, shrieks and oaths are elicited as you shackle her to the ceiling, your risen inscribing a warbling demonic rune of containment around her. Body swinging, chest heaving, her maw drops viscous saliva all over the ground from sharpened fangs, sulphurous stench on every breath. You can finally appraise your newest, and most wayward creation. Your blood still surges in her, but so too do twisted contracts with unknown powers. She cannibalized the very essence of Urziel, and even ravaged your most trusted Minion. Dark red skin glistens with exertion as she rips and digs at the stonework her fingers can find purchase to. "THRANE. On oath of my FAMILY! YOUR SOUL WILL BE MINE!" Breaking into a strange gutteral chant, you fall to the ground clutching your head, the world begining to seem...distant, you see your body, and her...a burning avatar of hate, pain and madness, her astral form an endlessly burning woman, skin turning to ash and sloughing off before forming over her again. You are close to her now, almost welcoming it before you snap back into your undead body, somehow feeling ache not known since you were mortal. Memories not recalled since your rebirth. Even afar, her wounds go deep.

Still yet you hear a faint and muffled voice "Fuck you...leach.." The body sags but continues to breath. This thing is neither live nor dead, tethered between worlds, tied to two contracts, two masters. With her head in the rocks though..hmm...a bit comely to your sense of aesthetics. You wipe blood away from your face, and experience a small sense of humility for a moment before arrogance and determination takes its place. She is yours, and this defiance will be a joy to strip. >>1730810When I think about it, true really. Switching to this
>>1730813Hands of ruination is too slow for combat, and we won't be able to use potions or artefacts or anything. Burning blood gives us ANOTHER weakness, and worsens our fear of the sun. Hide of thorns? "Hey, you. Yeah, you, zombie number seventy eight. Pick that thing up."

Hell even go with a "And then thrane woke up" if it suits. Its good to see you back, I look forward to more Cursed brand storytime. Again, seriously, if what I did wasnt for you, I have no issue with you rejecting it. At minimum it served to keep the kettle warm.>>1730795Noticed you didn't play. I tend to explore the interpersonal relationships between characters a bit. >>1730829Hands of ruination works slowly in that its not instant, but if thrane were to grab, lets say an axe, after about 3-5 seconds the enchantment on it would be weakened or broken during the grappling. More powerful enchantments take longer.thorns has social implications as you may be able to hide them in your human form, but still not touch people without drawing blood. However for berserkers that grab you, its unpleasant and blood loss tends to hurt others and heal you.Blood is powerful in combat, and while you will not explode in the sunlight, it is safe to say you will take more damage. Though this is the only one that can be mitigated by something cursed said early on "Be more human" eventually to the point you can walk in the sun.as for the hellscape, its kinda like the northerners. you can go there, but its probably not a great idea. Things will warp and change there.

>Abomination gains lv1 Psychic rangeThe Abomination retreats into its designated corner, its body rippling and bubbling as new growth is forced throughout its body. Tendrils of Grey matter coil throughout its flesh, nodes of hardened flesh poking from its skin as waves of energy boil the air like heat. Its voice echoes through the minds of every one of your servants at once, prompting them to stop for a moment and shiver slightly as their simple minds are forcibly linked together.>"This one has the eyes of many Master Throne">Every basic Minion within the range of the Graveyard has gained +1 intelligence and a bonus to tasks when working together.>Aberration gained lv2 sensesYour Aberration sits atop the crypt, eying the fading daylight, growling and burbling happily as its body shifts and warps, the eyes protruding haphazardly protruding from its body dilating before retreating into its flesh. As it shifts and bulges the eyes return, having grown larger and clearer. They emerge at random and nightmarish angles, allowing it 360° of vision. You recline upon your throne of gravestones, blinking your waking sleep from your eyes. The echoing curses of the Hell Smith are music to your ears as you regard your minions efforts. Skerath has gone above and beyond in his efforts, retrieving a great bounty of flesh and materials for your purposes. Already the men stand shivering in one of the lower rooms, unaware so far of the dark nature of their new liege. You smile as you observe the Abominations influence upon your lesser servants. They move with purpose and direction, accomplishing tasks with a skill far beyond their cold minds.Your Risen lays upon a stone table, his charred and broken limbs treated with thick ointments and wrapped in bandages smeared with pungent herbs. He weakly attempts to resist Sophie and her assistant as they cut away the flesh that rots, a danger even for the undead as it compromises his body's structure.Setgash delegates a squad of his Skeleton Soldiers to guard each of the tunnel entrances and guard the Hell Smith's cell. >15. Domination time. The Hell Smiths thundering, unnaturally echoing curses barrage your ears, actually shaking dust from the ceiling as you walk toward the makeshift prison that holds the possessed Smith. While you are irritated by the loss of Urziel, you have a feeling the Hell Smith may be even more useful in the long run."LEECH! UNDEAD FILTH! GRAVE FILTH! WE WILL CONSUME YOUR BLOATED SOUL! YOU WILL DIE AND BE CONSUMED LIKE THAT WHIMPERING CUB! DIEDIEDIEDIEDIE!"A multitude of voices howls at you as you step between the Skeleton warriors, a hot, dry wind actually pushing against you as you enter the makeshift prison. The horned, maned figure strains against its chains, howling in a dozen infernal tongues as the protective wards inscribed in the metal flare brightly, searing the flesh underneath."Silence hellspawn. You forget your place!"You growl, extending your hand and clenching your fist. Your blood within its body follows your bidding, forcing the fanged jaws shut with bone crushing force. The glowing, crimson eyes glare at you balefully as muffled curses are spit between the jagged, cracked teeth as you approach, feeling the ambient heat increase until it feels as though you stand before a roaring bonfire. You smirk at the futilely struggling demonhost, one finger extending into a foot long, black claw smeared with your dark blood. "You will serve me, hellspawn. One way or another... You will serve"You say softly, reaching up with one hand to grip a red hot horn and yank down the possessed Smiths head. Despite your smoking and bubbling flesh your face remains impassive as you link your mind with the Risen. His knowledge of demonology fills your mind and you begin carving intricate sigil into the Demonhosts forehead. Boiling crimson blood smokes as against your claw but the Rune of Domimation fills in, your black blood flowing like ink into the rune. A final twisting spire completes the rune, a flash of un-light filling the chamber as the Hell Smith is thrown back against the wall with so much force the broad horns crack against the stone. The chains split apart, the Hell Smith sagging against the floor before rising, glowering down at you. Its bestial yet still feminine face opens in a roar of rage but the ball of hellfire halts in its throat as the powerful rune prevents it from harming you.Dismissively you backhand the beast as hard as you can, flinging it against wall like a comet. You clench your scorched hand as the flesh heals and clasp them behind your back, walking slowly from the room"I told you. You would serve me one way or another. Report to the forge, you have work to do." You say over your shoulder The hiss of helpless rage warms your black heart as jaws move against the dark will"Yes..... M-... Ma..... >13. Lets play doctor You enter Sophie's lab, a pair of Zombies dragging a pair of struggling prisoners behind them as the heavy wooden door is closed behind them. A lock of thick metal slides closed, sealing them in.Restraining the struggling men you shift your fingers into blades, lopping off the Risens charred arm and leg, the dead and rotting tissue falling to the floor without pain. The terrified humans screams are drowned out by thick cloth gags as the replacement parts are... Harvested. Blood spatters the ceiling in thick spurts before the sizzling sound of your blood sealing tissue together fills the chamber. The gurgling, wide eyed "volunteers" stare at the ceiling, their flesh a pale white from blood loss as the Risen sits from his table, eying the new limbs.Thick, black scars circle the limbs, mid thigh and mid bicep, marking where the tissue was grafted on and forced to grow to match his herculean musculature.Swinging his feet to the floor he kneels, looking up at you as the infernal tattoos spread along the new flesh like a tattoo "Thank youuu... >20. Repair the Hell Forge Your Zombies march into the contaminated Hellforge, hauling out stones that sizzle against their skin and lumps of slag the shape of skulls and faces that scream in agony. The Hell Smith glowers in baleful pride as the charred bones of Urziel are dragged out, the mighty skull shattered by a single hammer blow, its very bones inscribed with demonic runes. The Risen (who really needs a name at this point) directs the work, khopesh in hand as he eyes the HellSmith. The hulking, vaguely Ursine demonhost snorts black, tarry smoke as it steps into the room. A series of guttural, echoing phrases and a flash of eye watering sunlight later, the door opens slowly revealing a large, stone forge, inscribed with demonic runes and burning with a deep crimson flame. A bellows of brass and human skin is fitted into the forge near a rack of hammers and tongs of hot, black iron. A anvil of infernal iron swells from the ground like a demonic tooth. Already the HellSmith is hammering away at a piece of armor, the metal spitting sparks as it changes into something... Darker. >Superior HellForge acquired. >>1738721Thanks mang. Twas good while it lasted.I don't feel like we need to go into huge detail about what's going to whom. Rather, I want to share ideas about any new powers or abilities we should unlock.Obviously, Thrane needs a greater command of Demonology. The 'whoopsie' with that infernal bitch cannot be allowed to happen again. We will be the Lord and Master of all we survey...including the very depths of Hell. Then there's Umbramancy. What's more natural for a undead predator of the night than power over darkness? I'm actually surprised this hasn't been suggested and supported before.I'd also be pleased to see Thrane's powers of Necromancy and Domination expanded, and to perhaps finally allow him to get those beautiful wings we always wanted. The Abomination is unique among all of our creations, and furthermore, can provide immense buffs to our other minions and great power over our enemies. What's more, if he's going to be our horrific undead brain-server, he's going to need a hell of a lot of power to support all of our minions over a vast distance, and with great accuracy. So, with that in mind, I offer that he receive yet another new power; the manipulation and corruption of dreams. Just think about it; he'll be able to subconsciously control vast swathes of the living population, either inspiring loyalty and worship, or filling their most private moments with terror and despair. The Risen and Aberration both need some proper expansion of their powers (poor Jeeves took a hit with that permanent negative to Demonology), but out of all our minions I think the Ripper needs more..umph, or pizzazz. Each of our elites has something that makes them unique, whereas the Ripper is more like a glorified ghoul. It made sense when we first made him to serve as our attack dog, but now we need something more. What I suggest is something that could be both awesome and risky as all hell; fucking TELEPORTATION.With the Iron Revenant, I'd suggest a similar course of action as with the Ripper. Besides physical and magical prowess, he needs an ability or trait that makes him really stand out as one of our chosen champions or favored servants.
>>1738740one thing we need to tread carefully with is not going so far off the reservation with these upgrades that Cursed can't properly absorb it when it he returns. I propose keeping character upgrades on ice for a bit. Another thing is I hope he speaks up on it, but I dont want to evolve the quest to a point where he no longer feels it is his.I noticed that cursed never got his "hellborn mutation" to which I would suggest if cursed doesnt like it, he could dump them, or on the flipside, souls could be invested in the mutation, so spikes gets more dangerous for enemies to grapple with/ actively healing for blood spilled on Thrane, blood more burney/ dangerouns, and the hands could just become a 2 soul upgrade to outright disenchant magical items, with the downside being thrane cant wear or use magical items.Another item is the Aberration, who due to being like the ripper, doesnt have much character beyond actually being a free spirit and pretty cool guy. tl/dr: could use some love. Finally is the Hellsmith herself, upgrades apply to her like an undead despite the demonhost status. Probably just at a greater cost.

You cant' remember the events but you know mobility and just enough protection has served you better than a man with full plate.true items: True objects, mundane or magical, are rare in the Umbra, and rarely last without masters. Though some powerful items with a will near their own can persist.nonewith that stated. Let us begin once more.
>>1744093>Cherry...for a tree its pretty fucking smug. Not sure you want to absorb that, but getting a grip on the situation would help. For now its time to say goodbye to John. You pull the sphere you have named John out of the bag. You knew the Ghoul this belonged to, and there is still faint power echoing in it. Instead of shoving flesh in your mouth, you feel the barrier between you and the orb simply break down. The Ghoul's fragmented experience and essence become your own.>There are no true words, just intent from the master, his will, your hunger. Long claws that cut and slashed. They were beautiful. So hungry....there is a gap, now you see your claws hacked off with the last of master Thrane's necromantic energy leaching away. It goes dark. You resist the urge to fall, pride props you up. Your muscles swell, thin frame growing more substantial. Your finger tips blur and distort into obvious claws, hooked and sharp, though still dexterous. The idea of new tendons and muscles bunch in your hands. Feels like they could rip through old leather, or that you could crush a wrist in your grip. Feels...good. Great even...like you are going insane and love it. You suppress a scream and a laugh.Gained:+1 damage+1 Nicholas Cage - Eating non native (not you) essence can have unexpected impacts.---updates incoming. real life applies itself once more.
>>1744299Still chuckling to yourself, partially elation at feeling great, FUCKING GREAT, you walk up to "cherry" and place your palm on the tree. Well, you. You feel it, both you and the tree. Two bodies and one mind, a moment later you are yourself, and only you. No tree. A great sense of mobility and freedom, relief is had. That idiot is gone, you tricked him, or maybe that cocky tree is gone...it would seem both entities have ceased to exist, there is only you now. Wick. Most of you. Despite the reunion, it is only now you experience a profound sense of loss. You realize how much is missing. Though you have yourself, and your knowledge, that is not the sum of a mind, or a soul. You would have more time for introspection, but two things happen in immediate order that stir you from your bitter reverie. The darkness behind you finally reveals itself. Cold and frost, ahead of you the landscape stretches out towards a great city, something like your childhood home expanded and greater than you could imagine. A horrible bear roars in the distance, and you know terror once more. The boss! Was he ok? Did you fail him? Before you can wonder any further, that painful yank on your chest happens again, this time harder, the voice louder "mine." Thrane...was this real? You start running forward, massivly fatigued now, oddly each step you plant on the terrain manifests cobblestone, or grass below it. Shadows of it anyway. Exhaustion sets in hard. You have not felt this worn out since before Thrane gave you new life. Blackness settles in.----Gained: +1 solid; your grip on reality is getting stronger, and the world reveals itself to you in a way you can comprehend further.Gained: Memory of your life.---When you come to, you see what could pass as a mirror image of a teenage you, an enormous sword sitting on it's pommel next to him. He is chatting with a near shapeless specter.>Fucking everything here is a near shapeless specter. Least till ya' kill enough of it. I remember hauling that asinine parade sword around, just under 1 stone in weight and nearly 7 feet long. Stupid kid. Cant coun't the number of times the fucking thing almost got me killed. Once back'd into a nobels horse, poked the damn thing right in the neck artery. Bled out screaming as much as a horse can before it bucked the rider and crushed him under it's body. Heh...good times. You get up and dust yourself off. What do?>Attack>Listen, they dont seem to notice you yet>Speak to them>OtherIll check back in, in a few. Depending on activity from responses, minimum 2 posts tonight, if you guys are active, moar.
>>1744929talk to themif he's insane, we can still murder him and take his humanity
>>1745113also, i thought you meant john the orb was another part of Wick. i didn't wan't to absorb the ghoul.
>>1745113You get up and approach the pair. The conversation iterupted the moment he notices you."Its you again. I thought you were finally gone after the last time.">"Turns out wisdom comes with age kid. So does a desire to outlive chatty little idiots. Trees gone, so is the amnesiac."This incarnation represents your ambition. You know it. Since the merger you have a lot more knowledge. With your last statement he grips his sword, knuckles turning white."That would'a meant a surrender, or domination.." He notices the world shaping itself to actual terrain around your feet.."You're here for me! I'll break you apart before I join that mess you call a mind!" This dance has gone down before. Your knowledge of this fragment is limited to it's interactions with the tree, but his sword is lighter and faster here than it ever was in life. Bit sharper too, but the kid never could really cut down the tree before the hatchetmen chased him off. The kid launches himself at you, dust kicking up as he drags the sword across the ground, sparks flying.Roll a 1d20, and select from the below categories. Each weapon has it's limitations and benefits, pick one you feel is best suited to the situation and describe your attempted action.cat 1:>Defensive stance get ready to block/ parry>Evasive slow advance>Offensive chargecat 2:>throw daggers, switch to alternate weapons>Attack with daggers, avoid sword strikes>Block with shield, use short sword>Shoot with the bow
>>1745141Minor issue. Nothing terrible will come of it. Surely. mostly. probably not.
>>1745141Anyone still here?
Is Cursed dead-dead, or was he simply stolen away by Real Life(tm)?
>>1745681Dont know man. I never managed to snag the discord invite before it expired, but I am running this bastard side story to keep the thread warm for him. I know a few others have his discord in here, but I dont know if they are around right now. My quest seems to not be generating much interest, though that may just be my time keeping.I wish Cursed the best though. Life has been hard as fuck on him lately; and i dont even know him.
>>1745220>Evasive slow advance>Attack with daggers,avoid sword strikes
Rolled 6, 13 = 19 (2d20)>>1746676Lets see if it will let me roll THIS TIME
>>1745691Cursed isn't dead. He's chill with the quest. Sorry I've been dead all day today, too busy watching Glee.
Rolled 12 (1d20)>>1746676Support.
Rolled 5 (1d20)it doesn't generate much interest, because you can't bump the thread anymore. and anyone who just browses catalog will just see it to be undead quest part 5.
>>1746784After this set of actions I might create an undead quest 5.5: AfterlifeGotta take the kids to the park in a few, other assorted things.-----<12,13>>The kid bolted right at us, swinging fast. Ambitious, hungry to dominate. Make something of himself. I waded into the conflict slowly, meeting his rush with my meandering advance. Takes some footwork, but he starts getting sloppy. Dodge, chop, Duck, chop, chop, backstep, thrust. Those hits would cleave a man in half, but you can see them coming a mile away. We're..I? Not sure. We are faster than him, not by a lot though. This could go on all day, but all your deep thought got in the way of a swing that comes down and lops off your left hand. No pain, no blood here either. Just a missing hand.Reversing the dagger in your grip you run thrust upwards "Hey kid. you got something on your face." The blade enters his eye socket before you yank it out and slice open his chest just below the sternum. Your right hand darts into the gash and rips out the little shit's heart. No blood again. Weird. His body falls to dust just like that. You take a bite of the heart from some reason. It feels right. Normal. Hey, your hand grew back. When you finish the last chunk, you feel a weight across your back. Dammit. You didn't want to lug that thing around. In the pile of dust you notice something orange. A chunk of that essence you are collecting. It smoothly flows into it, the Ursine etching looks almost alive. There is only one more hole in it. You feel power coming from it.Gained: Memory of a big fucking sword you are stuck with for now.New knowledge fills the holes in your mind. You, the Tree, the Kid, The Beast, The Friend....two more till you are whole."A wonderful show, but playing with yourself wont get you far here." Right. There was another figure. Cant keep forgetting these small facts...to be continued in the next thread.
so is this not curseds quest anymore or what
>>1747202It is belongs to cursed. There have been some guest sessions to occupy the existing group while he recovers from looking an eye, and associated real life stuff. Malchemist, Chaos, and myself all ran it once, cursed gave the digital thumbs up so far. I've been telling smaller stories that don't actually advance the overall plotline; just offer new branches that Cursed can take off as he sees fit. Right now we are following the adventures of Wick. The six points to speed sanic fast revenant. Though he's been dead for a little while, and not quite himself.
