You are the Courier, Executor of the Pheonix Commonwealth of America. Having established recognition of your nation you find yourself, inevitably, squeezed between a war of the Bear and the Bull.

The scientific foundries of BigMT churn out wonders and miracles, in a bid to make yourself strong enough to withstand the rising tides of the other Empires around you.

In such a setting, you dance carefully with the NCR in a peaceful, if tense, non-aggression and even have agree'd to trade deals and mercenary work, for a fair fee.

>Onboard the Armored Train
It was a quiet journey headed north. Riddick and Hazel maintaining their weapons, and Axe Man being bored. Around them 3 officers idly chattered, one of them talking to her own brain in a jar.

25 soldiers were there too along with 10 Followers of the Apocalypse are with them, ready to use the best of their new medical knowledge.

100 MK2 Hazard Bots were elsewhere, among flatbed cars.

After a half day of travel through winding railroads and slow going to avoid mines, they arrive at the NCR capital, where a great number of soldiers and equipment are drawn up. From your robots, you get to see them, and they get to see your robots.

A force of about 200 men, a battaltion in all, loading up aboard. In addition you see a few tanks, some jeeps, and some very large and supplies.

The NCR sit next to your own men. Some take off shaking hands and chatting, clearly impressed by the augmented size of your bionic soldiers others avoid speaking with "bloody mercs" and "enclavists". But the peace is kept.

Particularly helpful are the actions of the Stormtroopers. These men seem selected for their height, strength, and intelligence and it shows by the manner of their speech. They act a bit more proud than the NCR Troopers, but are friendly enough.

However there are some oddd NCR individuals among the stormtroopers. Odd because of how different they are from everyone else, yet eerily similar to each other. There seems to be two types of them.

They are either very large and stocky men. Where as your men seem strong because they are fit, these men are just plain wide and tall, as if almost boxed in shape. They take up a whole seat to themselves. It's as though they've been eating a whole brahmin every day for breakfast in one arm, and lifting another in the other. And whats more, they all have the same facial features and similar skin color. They don't talk much, and when they do they don't seem very. . .bright.

There's also a curious pattern among some of the NCR Stormtrooper officers too. Its the same thing, some of them have similar facial features and voice pattern. All of them are officers, and they seem to be the most friendly and charismatic persons of the entire group.

>>
>>1653961

Or they could just be hiring retards, or it's genetic engineering, or something
>>
>>1653966
Those are clones or Synths.
>>
They gotta be clones, with what looks like a little of the FEV supermutant added to the big ones.
>>
>>1653967

If clones we better head east and start throwing out some clones back at them. If synths, the same thing.

But for now, let's be sure to prove our worth. And kill godless sub-human legionaries
>>
>>1653951
After the train is loaded up and on the move again, an NCR officer steps into the room. The soldiers stand at attention.

Curiously the stormtroopers raise their arms with balled fists, while most of the NCR soldiers give the conventional military salute (though some also raise their fist). Interesting.

>Officer
"At ease men. I'm sure many of you are curious as to where the hell we're going. I have here a message from General Blackthorne.

'Soldiers of California. You are about to embark on a mission of urgency, to ensure the success of that which we have strives for many months now. As it was in Portland, that many of you may be familiar with, our brave military, militia, and citizens are desperately but defiantly holding out against an enemy siege in the Flooded City. They fight not only the foe on the battlefield, but the enemies of hunger and need.

In company with our own aligned auxiliary forces, you will bring about the breaking of the siege and the delivery of vital supplies of food, medicine, ammunition, and relief aid to our forces and people.

California is watching us. The President is watching us. We who have been rescued from the jaws of death now will rescue others as we have been.

Good luck, and good hunting.'"

---

"Our enemy will be the Mutant Liberation Forces operating in and around the Idaho Wilds. We can expect heavy abhuman and enemy vehicular forces, along with crude but effective salvaged weapons and technology. In support of our operations, we have auxiliary robotic forces, armored support, and air support on standby.

We will head to the city by train as close as possible, and if we are stopped, we will disembark and push through on trucks and foot if we must. Above all, the supplies must reach the city."

You know what? I take back my thinking on the axis, we're not going to be Italy invading Ethiopia and failing.

We're going to be Russia.

We'll get our half of Poland.

We'll help the allies out for a time.

We'll fuck up the Reich at Stalingrad.

God bless the Phoenix Commonwealth, God bless the reborn America, and may our enemies with away and die.
>>
>>1654001
I have got to start understanding these analogies you present, cause I can't make heads or tail of who the NCR is in them

They know we're enclave?
>>
>>1654004
>>1654006
>>1654011

It's simple: the Phoenix Commonwealth is Italy/Russia

The NCR is the Reich

The allies are whoever will be fighting against the NCR in an alliance to make sure they stop the expansion and tribal holocaust.

The Axis being three nations together who will take over the world. But in this case, America
>>
>>1654016
You do realize they could be calling us Enclavists because we're an 'Enclave' in there eyes, Not the ACTUAL enclave?

It seems more a derogatory than accusatory, since most of your men are not literally enclave descendants.

You remember it was used partly against the people at Hopevile and Ashton for their usage of American symbolism, before the divide blew up.

Huh. So we might be fighting the Mutant GLA. NCR seems like it would be the USA in this instance.

ALERT!
As promised, the NCR Shipment of:
1 (HUGE) Steel
1 (Small) Fissile Materials
and a shipment of Air Conditioners has arrived.

If they need to extend the contract, they will pay upon the 7th turn of the regular agreed amount of either 1 (HUGE) steel or 1 (Small) fissile material.

Much of the steel has already been used up building the TACT bot and upgrading the Securitrons.

Food is still low because we had to ferry the steel with our own trucks. Which also means hexcrete returns are minimal (we still only have trucks for that as well)

The Pipeline is not yet complete.

The packaged Air Conditioners are quote "very fancy". They come in cardboard boxes with painted pictures and advertising on them, along with instruction manuals and some very blatant advertising for New Reno. The machines themselves are stamped as "Made in California. Sold in New Reno."

James Bond has analyzed them.

Despite the grumbling, you insist on performing lengthy "Quality Assurance" tests.

So far, for a month, nothing happens. It works well. A bit noisy, but exactly the type cool or cold air you would get out of a box from Novac or the Casinos. In the hot heat of the desert, such cold wind is sweeter than molasses.

It will add to your energy bill, significantly but not excessively or outrageously.

Because they'll be much more loyal more easily thanks to their trained loyalty. Plus they'll give us a better deal for our spices than the NCR making it fairly cheap to do.

Anyhow, the abduction beam only can take 5 at a time. Where as with a proper set up for moving our new citizens and such we could probably get dozens out and don't risk an incredibly valuable and currently irreplaceable aircraft.

Actually freed slaves would be much more loyal to us since we freed them.
>Anyhow, the abduction beam only can take 5 at a time. Where as with a proper set up for moving our new citizens and such we could probably get dozens out and don't risk an incredibly valuable and currently irreplaceable aircraft.
Then build more saucers.
>>
>>1654258
Those camps are hundreds of miles away from us and we are uncertain as to where they actually are.

My suggested method works without any sorts of doubts or problems. We could do it immediately where as yours would require we found the camps, got the forces needed to free the slaves and then got them ALL out in one go which we currently could not.
>>
>>1654279
Well it does have problems of participating in a slave trade with a barabaric, murderous society that most of our people don't want anything to do with other than shoot them in the face.

That will be a problem.
>>
>>1654279
>My suggested method works without any sorts of doubts or problems.
Except if the NCR finds out we're trading with the Legion they will brand us barbarians and refuse any diplomatic or trade deals with us.
>>
>>1654273
>Actually freed slaves would be much more loyal to us since we freed them.
Nope. They would be thankful but their loyalty would remain with their people. Their tribe or nation or what have you. I don't disagree that many would join us but we can't say they would be more loyal than the people literally built from the ground up to obey.

>Then build more saucers.
Yeah sure I'll just pop over to our giant replicator and make the parts for a dozen more. You know after I process enough nuclear material and steel into replicator-feed to literally drown our civilisation and grab a complete copy of the required blueprints and such.
>>
>>1654296
Well most of their people would be enslaved and such, so they would have loyalty to a dead society. Simple enough to draw them over to our way, especially if we allow them to keep small reminders of their culture.
>>
>>1654296
>Nope. They would be thankful but their loyalty would remain with their people. Their tribe or nation or what have you.
No they wouldn't, only a very small few would wish to return to their tribe/nation, all the others would be loyal to us. Also it would be a good thing to have ex-tribal slaves since they can help us assimilate their tribe.
>Yeah sure I'll just pop over to our giant replicator and make the parts for a dozen more. You know after I process enough nuclear material and steel into replicator-feed to literally drown our civilisation and grab a complete copy of the required blueprints and such.
All we need is to get that Replicator upgrade that allows us to use energy instead of fissile materials and we'll be golden since all we would need then is metal, and we can get metal from Trona, the Divide and saucer raids against the Legion.
>>
>>1654291
>Well it does have problems of participating in a slave trade with a barabaric, murderous society
In your opinion. I've made my opinion of the Legion clear before.

>that most of our people don't want anything to do with other than shoot them in the face.
I'd point out our people aren't so insanely against the Legion as to not see the benefits of getting slaves from them to free / grow our nation and such. They don't want to help the Legion but that doesn't mean they are going to act so blindly.

Especially since we've done it once already if you hadn't noticed and no one complained or decided to shoot us in the face like you seemingly think they will.

>>1654294
The precise dictations of the deals we made with the NCR state that we can trade with their enemies and house refugees / war criminals from them. Your argument is false.

Especially since they wouldn't be finding out realistically speaking since our nation is so isolationist and shit. Plus we can order the slaves to not talk about where they came from and shit.

Even if they did, why would they complain about us saving people from the Legion? By what logic do they find that unacceptable?

>>1654307
>Well most of their people would be enslaved and such,
Refer to what happened to the NCR's citizens. Chances are they would wander off to go find their tribes.

>so they would have loyalty to a dead society.
Which they could convert their children and others to.

>Simple enough to draw them over to our way, especially if we allow them to keep small reminders of their culture.
True but that doesn't solve the problem of moving potentially hundreds of slaves out across the Legion's lands without any form of support and their armies hounding us. Compared to sneaking a few out at a time.

- Are the details for Trona correct, as they seem to be a copy of China Ranch?
- Can the military action be used for robot construction?

>>1654311
>No they wouldn't, only a very small few would wish to return to their tribe/nation, all the others would be loyal to us.
They would be thankful to their saviours but I doubt they would be as loyal or willing to join as you seemingly think.

>Also it would be a good thing to have ex-tribal slaves since they can help us assimilate their tribe.
Yes that lovely tribe on the other side of the Legion.

>All we need is to get that Replicator upgrade that allows us to use energy instead of fissile materials
No such upgrade is currently known or possible.

>we'll be golden since all we would need then is metal
Plus pilots, the design / understanding of it's systems and the power to support them.

>we can get metal from Trona, the Divide and saucer raids against the Legion.
The first region doesn't have much metal if any, the second is hostile and I think you are overestimating the Legion's metal supply.

In the general opinion of the people

Also the initial people we started with were enslaved with the legion, the rest are refugees from legion aggression. It will be a tough sell to get them on board with trading with the legion.

We didn't promise not to trade with their enemies, but that doesn't mean that the NCR can't react. They can sanction us, and cease all trade and further contact, or even invade if they feel like it.

THe NCR citizen's were re educated or slaughtered. But they had their tribes intact and around. Rescued legion slaves have no wehre else to go. It's not like they can return to their ancestral homelands in Arizona and settle down. Their safest bet is to stay put here. Or they just get enslaved again.

You overestimate the ability for fragmented people to preserve their culture. And if we gather enough of them in our lands, they'd settle and preserve their culture here, like china town.

Your idea has problems too. The only route to the legion close to us is the I-15 front. We aint getting trucks filled with slaves over that boarder. It's a similiar problem no matter how we liberate slaves.
>>
>>1654346

>They would be thankful to their saviours but I doubt they would be as loyal or willing to join as you seemingly think.
And i think you underestimate how thankful to us they would be after being freed, they would be very loyal to the person who saved them from a life of slavery.
>Yes that lovely tribe on the other side of the Legion.
That we can reach with saucers and can supply robots and weapons to.
>No such upgrade is currently known or possible.
Incorrect, it's available if we spend a boon, here it is in thread 12 as an option.
>BOON (Optional - You currently only have 1)
>[ ] Non-Fissile Materials! - If we spend most of our alien parts, we can figure out a way to hook up a disintegrator to this device. Then we no longer have to rely on hard to get radioactive isotopes. We can just expend energy instead and feed it normal metals!

>Plus pilots, the design / understanding of it's systems and the power to support them.
We already know how the alien flight system works, we just need to figure out it's power source.
>The first region doesn't have much metal if any, the second is hostile and I think you are overestimating the Legion's metal supply.
The Legion has metal armor and swords, those are all things we can take, and they must have come from some metal supply.
>>

Assuming they find out which they would struggle to do so.

>"You're giving resources to our enemy."
"Which is entirely legal given the deals we made with you."

>>1654348
>Also the initial people we started with were enslaved with the legion, the rest are refugees from legion aggression. It will be a tough sell to get them on board with trading with the legion.
Yet none of them have complained about us getting a slave from the Legion, even though they should be under your assumptions.

>We didn't promise not to trade with their enemies, but that doesn't mean that the NCR can't react. They can sanction us, and cease all trade and further contact, or even invade if they feel like it.
Entirely true but once again I point out, they will not find out.

>But they had their tribes intact and around. Rescued legion slaves have no wehre else to go.
Except they might still have independent tribes to go back to.

>It's not like they can return to their ancestral homelands in Arizona and settle down.
They can with your method since the enslaving camps are all on that side of the Legion.

>Their safest bet is to stay put here. Or they just get enslaved again.
Assuming we can trek them across the Legion without them getting killed, lost or re-enslaved.

>You overestimate the ability for fragmented people to preserve their culture.
I really don't.

>And if we gather enough of them in our lands, they'd settle and preserve their culture here, like china town.
Or they out-breed us and become the dominant culture or have a problem with something we do and cause problems.

>Your idea has problems too. The only route to the legion close to us is the I-15 front. We aint getting trucks filled with slaves over that boarder.
Who said anything about trucks of slaves? We got Dean Domino, his ex-slave companion, one slave of our own and ourselves from New Vegas to Big mt and could certainly repeat that performance.

>It's a similar problem no matter how we liberate slaves.
It really isn't.
>>
>>1654367
>And i think you underestimate how thankful to us they would be after being freed, they would be very loyal to the person who saved them from a life of slavery.
Yes, yes they would. However that doesn't mean they would go and abandon their families or their homelands or anything else potentially.

>That we can reach with saucers
Very slow crafts and could be damaged by ground fire from Legion forces if it came down to it.

>can supply robots and weapons to.
A saucer can carry about 5 humans and a pilot. Not exactly a cargo vessel and certainly not fast enough to maintain a war effort.

>Incorrect, it's available if we spend a boon
Which we have one of.

>here it is in thread 12 as an option.
My mistake, I swear that that one didn't allow such actions but still you need a massive amount of energy.

Also based off of the description, I doubt it allows for the production of alien metal with common metal and such.

>We already know how the alien flight system works, we just need to figure out it's power source.
Amazing but that could take years assuming it can be done and that we can actually produce whatever we discover.

>The Legion has metal armor and swords, those are all things we can take, and they must have come from some metal supply.
I imagine it comes from salvaging buildings or mining and once again I would point out that Saucer's ain't moving large masses without strapping it the outside.

>Very slow crafts and could be damaged by ground fire from Legion forces if it came down to it.
>Saucers are as fast as a car.
>Can reach very high altitudes if not completely leave the atmosphere.
>Can be equipped with a shield.
The speed is fine for traversing Legion lands and ground fire doesn't matter.
>A saucer can carry about 5 humans and a pilot. Not exactly a cargo vessel and certainly not fast enough to maintain a war effort.
A vertibird can carry 6, and any saucer we make can have an expanded cargo hold so it can carry the same amount.
>Which we have one of.
And we're at thread 15, which will give us a boon once archived. We can also get a boon through other methods.
>Also based off of the description, I doubt it allows for the production of alien metal with common metal and such.
Actually it does, it's how we can make alien metal now.

How will they not find out convoys of trucks are going to and from legion lands? Its not something we can keep very secret, especially with no land border.

As for response, we may not promised not to do so, but they can still punish us for going against them. They never promised they would trade with us or anything. They're facists and there is no world police.

Our slave is one slave and we bought him with pocjet change. Its easy enough to believe we smuggled him and dean and deans girl out. Paying for slaves with trucks filles with spices is a different matter.

We have no guarantee that they "would not likely find out" other than your unfounded assurances.

Slaves likely dont have tribes to go back to. Legion just rolls over everybody. Most slaves are slaves because the legion killed their soldiers and subjugated the rest.

They cannot return to their homelands because they are in legion territory. Aruzona is legion territory. As is colorado and new mexico. Any tribes based in The mid west have nothing to go back to.

We can use the saucer to fly them over land. Build new saucers with more cargo space to abduct more.

You really do. Many native cultures are dieing in the face of the larger cultural weight of american culture.

Many tribes have different cultures. There wont be any one dominant culture arising from rescued slaves.

You want to temrade spices for slaves. Trucks to deliver and trucks to return. Convoys are more noticable than a single car.

There will always be a logistic issue taking slaves to our place.

>Slaves likely dont have tribes to go back to. Legion just rolls over everybody.
Except those tribes we encountered in Honest hearts and there are more like them.

>Most slaves are slaves because the legion killed their soldiers and subjugated the rest.
Then they are either Legion citizens and not slaves or an entire community which ignoring the difficulties of getting to our lands would prove most hard to integrate into our nation.

>They cannot return to their homelands because they are in legion territory. Aruzona is legion territory. As is colorado and new mexico. Any tribes based in The mid west have nothing to go back to.

Might that have something to do with the fact that the native american population could've been decimated and it would have been a light dusting compared to what the american ancestors did?

>Many tribes have different cultures. There wont be any one dominant culture arising from rescued slaves.
Yet you believe the Legion subjugates whole tribes and thus I must conclude these two statements are unaligned. Especially since we don't need a single dominant culture for problems to arise.

We can teleport to the Mojave area carrying the spices you fool as the Courier to get the slaves before returning or any other number of more covert methods than fucking cars.

If they escaped how would the slave know where they escaped to and if the tribal was captured while hunting he would have hunted close by so the tribe would have fallen under attack from the Legion soon, unless the tribe is nomadic in which case the slave doesn't know where the tribe is again.
>Which isn't very fast as it turns out when you are talking about crossing a continent.
It's fast enough for traversing a state, and the Legion only occupies Arizona, New Mexico and parts of Utah and Colorado.
>We currently lack that technology.

>I'd argue it is to slow and would point out that rockets still damage it.
A car is pretty fast mate, if we go by our IRL car speed record(270 mph) then our fallout saucer should go around 170-200 mph. Arizona has a with of 310 miles and length of 400 miles, so our car can traverse half of Legion territory in about 2-3 hours, that's fast enough.
>Again, assuming we make more reasonably.
We can if we research the alien hangar that can make more saucers and our saucers power source, after that we just have to build our own aircraft hangar and build saucers.

A smart tribe would have holy sites or other such places they would use as rallying points. As to them being nomadic, some tribes practice cycles of motion between hunting grounds so they would know where to go. Plus you assume their tribe wouldn't arrange places to fall back if they were attacked and shit.

>It's fast enough for traversing a state, and the Legion only occupies Arizona, New Mexico and parts of Utah and Colorado.
Not in universe it doesn't since OP is running with a bunch of mods, they've had three years to expand and a bunch of other things.

>Not in universe it doesn't since OP is running with a bunch of mods, they've had three years to expand and a bunch of other things.

>>1654663
Is that knowing the principles that operate it, or can we actually build one? There's a difference between knowing a nuclear reactor uses the fission of large atoms to generate heat, and another to build one.

If we do know how to build inertial drives we should look at the reactors, then its all a matter of design.
>>
>>1654670

I assume so, if not researching the alien hangar bay should tell us how to make more inertia drives since we would see how it builds them.

True but my point is they could find their tribes.

>True but the mods don't matter much since honest hearts is still canon to QM, so the Legion hadn't completely taken Utah when we were in New Vegas, also the Legion couldn't have expanded much since they don't use vehicles and would have encountered the Midwestern BoS by now.
Possible but perhaps something happened to the Midwestern BOS and as to Utah, my point was that tribes escape the legion and that the Mod's / OP's posts imply the Legion has far more land than that..

>look into the alien bounty hunter armour
The Alien Bounty Armor has some impressive capabilities! But we only have enough parts to reliable reverse engineer a key aspect of them.

Which should we go with?

>Advanced Motor Servos - There are some very interesting, almost exoskeleton like motor servo's that allow the armor to hold extra weight. This could allow our own armor designs to be heavier, and maybe put us on the path to true powered armor!
>Advanced Protection Suite - There are some advanced anti-biohazard protection devices at play that help to neutralize caustic, infectious, and even flammable materials, even filter poisoned gas from the air.
>Advanced Radiation Suite - There's a very powerful anti-radiation module, that greatly increases radiation resistance and slowly removes radiation from the body.
>Advanced Telsa Accessories - There are some powerful Tesla Coil accesorries that improve the damage of energy weapons greatly, and also reduce the damage from energy weapons
>Advanced Recoil Reducers - There are some powerful recoil reducers, that make conventional weapons more accurate and allow for much bigger guns, and also reduce the damage from conventional weapons

We'll only be able to do this once. Choose well!
>>
>>1654725
There are always more things to research. You can't finish leanring.

Doesn't matter who we meet, it's still a better use of our time.

Negotiations, visits, summits, and celebrations- all the types of things that might mean we have to go to an allied country to make an appearance. Cost of doing business.

Depending on the law, but some implementations of policy would take a hero action to smooth over civilian response. Still something to spend hero actions on.

It says the capabilities right here >>1654367
>That is a huge amount of resources for your operation you are spending.
When we fixed up and recharged the alien ship i believe our power consumption was around 80%, that means recharging the ship takes more than 20 % power, now when we built the small solar tower we were at 90% and went down to 75%, that means the small solar tower provides 15% power, assuming the saucer needs 50% power to recharge we will need 3 small solar towers to comfortably recharge a saucer, luckily we have a great spot we can get glass and salt water from called Trona.
I think building 3 small solar towers is worth it in exchange for having a airforce of saucers. with saucers we can raid the Legion for slaves and resources plus get to other locations we can get resources from like upper Nevada and Idaho.

Not really.

Quite possibly but we can't state for certain. Especially since he is running it with our shitty fuel on a world with shitty spare parts until he met us.

Yes and what I am saying is that I am uncertain if that will allow for the creation of alien metal since it is not made of any earth-elements as far as we could tell.

>I think building 3 small solar towers is worth it in exchange for having a airforce of saucers. with saucers we can raid the Legion for slaves and resources plus get to other locations we can get resources from like upper Nevada and Idaho.
Not having an air-force. 1 saucer is all that powers without fucking the electrical grid by your calculations.

>And when we understand how to make replica drives we can begin modifying the design to fit our needs.
That is like saying because I know precisely how to build a replica of a nuclear reactor, I can design a brand new one entirely different from the one I know. It is madness unless you intend for our scientists to spend years establishing the inter-relations between every part of this technology and working out the limits and physics behind it.

Alexa and the air conditioners doesn't seem to have increased the power consumption much, i assume we're at 90% again so we should build solar towers again.
>Not having an air-force. 1 saucer is all that powers without fucking the electrical grid by your calculations.
Read my calculations again, if a saucer takes about 50% power to recharge 3 solar towers is enough to recharge one each day.

True but the Legion has land that far north and according to the NCR's war report they seemingly have land in Canada if I remember it right.

>Eventually yea but we have lot's to research so it will be a while.
Not really seeing as we can't research the alien bounty hunter tech further and most of the other things will be completed quickly. Trust me it just seems like we have more than we do.

>He has 10 int, even with shitty parts he should be able to make a relatively fast car.
That just means he can be creative / use more advanced methods to fix it. It doesn't mean he can make miracles happen.

AYE and I have told you we do it using nuclear material and that it is not made of any earth elements and thus I doubt that by feeding the replicators earth elements we can make more of it.

>Alexa and the air conditioners doesn't seem to have increased the power consumption much, i assume we're at 90% again so we should build solar towers again.
Which is a entire turn's labour at least.

True but we have no idea how fast the battery on them will drain so we can't say that will be enough.

Yes. However I doubt it is easy to alter highly advanced alien technology working off of principles that may not even exist in the contemporary model of physics of fallout.

Jacob Miles finishes up the pumping station at Newberry Springs, connecting it to the Water Treatment Plant

To no short amount of fanfare, crowds line up to the Water Treatment plant, ready to see fresh water from Newberry pour into its reservoir tanks.

A switch is manned and pulled by some humans far in newberry springs, and everyone eagerly watches a clock, Jacob Miles predicting the exact time it is to arrive.

There's a whoosh of dust and air, and at last, a rush of brown muddy water is soon trailed by flowing white foamy liquid as everyone cheers the new water in the largest settlement.

Those living at Newberry Springs might be dissapointed to no longer have the lake to swim in, but you're keeping enough water to keep the farms there going.

>Miles
"Now all we need to do is tap into that underground river."

E = M(C*C)

To make a mole of carbon into a mole of iron would be a very expensive operation thanks to the difference in energetic content caused by the difference in mass. Unless you use nuclear material to add the needed mass.

>>
Winding around nuclear craters and deadly regions, headed first north then east, the train finally makes it into Idaho territory.

In that time your troops have gotten to know each other. Songs were shared, including the Stormtroopers namesake.

"Far from their land as they made their stand
A disregarded demand!
It's surrender or die and the stakes are high
They live or they die, there's no time for goodbye!
Weapon in hand as they made their stand
Still disregarding demand,
They would never comply, they would rather die!
Broke through the blockade, they were finally saved!"

Gossip and talk flow freely, providing you with much information on the NCR homeland and morale. Both of your men want to test their strength against the other, having shattered a few tables they now arm wrestle over metal crates. The average soldier is no match for your own, though their stormtroopers put up a better fight. But even your men's arms bend the otherway when going up against one of their hulking bruisers. "Stone Men" they call them, though nobody knows why.

"Probably because they're tough as a rock and just as intelligent!"

But nobody beats Riddick. With deft ease, he turns the arms of your men sore and puts to table the NCR's big hulkers.

---

Meanwhile, Hazel is up on the rooftop, sniper rifle in hand and binoculars. She might be a drunk off duty, but she's a professional when on.

She's the first one to spot dots on the horizon.

>Hazel
"Contact! Left side. 18 vehicles. 15 kilometers"

The alarm blares, and the intercom chirps up.

"All men, man your stations. This is not a drill."

---

Men are scrambling to windows, turrets, and vehicles when the train lurches.

>Intercom
"Brace for impact!"

People are thrown to their feet, and rifles spill, and even Hazel clings onto a railing for dear life.

>Intercom
"The Forward Element Train just got blown up by a mean. Engineering teams scramble."

The NCR soldiers are preparing to defend the train and the engineering crew as they repair the rails. Enemy vehicles are still far away but closing in.

>What are your orders?

>>
>>1655016
Your Hazard bots get out and surround the train, their heavy armor encircling it like a ring as the NCR's soldiers scramble to their guns and engineers rush trucks to the front to clear up the tracks.

>Hazel
"New contacts

20 vehicles right side. . .

15 vehicles front side. . .

13 vehicles rear side. . ."

>NCR Trooper
"Caesar on a pole they're everywhere!"

Your repair fliers go up. Unfortunately, they are dedicated repair and salvage robots not scouting and recon so their optical arrays are unsophisticated.

But the worst is yet to come.

>NCR Officer
"All guns open fire!"

>TACT Bot
"Fire at will!"

The train erupts with volleys of artillery and rocket fire from men and machine. Men on 88mm cannons, turret howitzers and mortars open up barrages on all sides, likewise your own robots fire off furious small but numerous missile salvos.

At almost a mile away, a few of the fast vehicles are blown up but the rest scramble, swerve, and make off in different directions. They no longer are headed directly for the train, but start to move around widly, circling it from afar, and running through and dodging shells and rockets.

Meanwhile, they start dropping barrels and pouring some sort of black tar behind them. The moment one of your own rockets are an NCR artillery shell lands on them it lights it on fire creating a long stream of thick billowing black smoke, which the buggies also begin exuding into the air from pipes.

There's so many of these small fast vehicles, moving hither and thither, and at this range its hard to get a beat on them. Even Hazel and Riddick only manage to pelt a couple of shots on them at such distances.

The smoke begins to encircle the train now, driven by the wind, further reducing vision. Heat sensors and infrared on the Rangers are being dismayed by the fire and flames.

Slowly the circle of smoke closes in along with the buzzing buzzing buzzing of vehicles. Yet strangley they have yet to open fire.

Now the smoke almost engulfs the train, there's barely any visibility. The buzzing of the vehicles dies away, as if they are gone.

It is replaced by a new noise. Drums. Deep, rythmic, thunderous drums, seemingly coming from all sides through the smoke and the flames.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpIhbDN58mA

>What do
>>
>>1655125
Luckily, our Securitrons have near infinite ammo due to their internal replicators.
Disregard visibility, listen closely at the sounds to locate them and fire missile volleys and lasers widely at the source of the sounds, by shooting at the area instead of the target we have a higher chance to hit.
>>
>>1655125
Focus our barrage into two particular areas and form walls of projectiles. Then have these approach each other. They'll be trapped between them and their wall of fire.

Also begin firing any other guns we have if we have even a decent chance of hitting.
>>
>>1655125
We gave the soldiers fancy eye's didn't we? have that data relayed to the tact bot, which relays that to the securitrons for targetting. Failing that, securitrons just suppressing fire all around with rockets and laser beams.
>>
>>1655125
Hey QM, do our Securitrons have a self destruct function? If not, can they charge with their missile pods open and just fire all missiles at once?

Your soldiers aren't able to see much either, furthermore their eyes aren't meant for direct neurological uplink. But thats besides the point being that the smoke is too thick.

Your own forces fire wildly into the smoke, hoping to suppress an anticipated ambush, while the NCR holds fire.

>NCR Officer
"Let the robot artillery then up. Don't fire till you see the whites of their eyes!"

In either case, neither of you are adequately prepared for what comes next.

The drums only seem to grow louder and louder, here and there they are silenced, but the booming becomes inescapable. Then, a different sound is heard, an electronic raspy noise with a fierce tone. .

One of your intel officers speaks up back at BigMT. The former King.

>Intel Officer
"That sound, its so familiar but different."

The forces there hear it too, as it comes closer along with the sound of a large engine roaring. Then there's an explosive blast, and a high pitched sound.

>NCR Officer
"Jet"

>Hazel
"What?"

>NCR Officer
"It sounds like a goddamn j-"

He and everything else is interrupted by a MASSIVE armored thing, like a steel plow, with a jet engine jutting from its back cut through the smoke and smash through a train car, severing the train from its engine. It stands there among the ruins of armored train cars, the turrets unable to swivel inward to target it.

But worse is about to happen. From inside the armored truck, two things quickly jet out from the top. A tall chrome and copper tower, and a man holding a musical instrument. Instantly there's a bright, almost rainbow like halo of lightning coming from around the truck. Men within 30 meters are instantly turned to a pile of white sparkling goop, turn red molten and hot, and securitrons in the nearby vicinity are paralyzed.

Inside this raging cyclone of electrical power, the man with his guitar aims it at a nearby turret and plucks the strings. A thunderbolt erupts from the tip of his instrument, blowing up the turret with a crack and the tone of his music ringing through the air.

>Intel Officer
"Whoa, he's using an that guitar as a Tesla weapon!"

Before anyone can react, it quickly retracts into the truck which then drives away and into the smoke.

Your forces recover, their guns train on it, bt they fail to account for another massive thing following behind it. Its big, it's yellow, and it's covered in guns and supermutants and humans and ghouls as it plows thorugh the gap cleared by the Tesla Truck. The enemy soldiers leap down from it and begin engaging your forces in melee.

>Alert! Around 25 MKV Hazard Bots are temporarily paralyzed by the Tesla Truck. Luckily with their extra armor and EMP defenses only temporarily.

The Big Spikey Truck thing is very heavily armored, and absorbs the first volleys of your missile fire, however your sweeping volley does clear the deck of most machine gunners and anyone who was not inside.

>RPG Trooper
"GET THEM, GET THEM NOW!"

When the smoke clears, a dozen soldiers holding modified missile launchers leap up from the inside and return fire on your securititrons with deadly accuracy. Several of them focus their fire on a single robot at a time, aiming multiple shots where they see a galting laser coming from.

Meanwhile some of the Super Mutants and humans are gunned down by the combined laser and grenade fire.

But the surviving super mutants adopt a new tactic. They jab some kind of power claws attached to big machiens on their back, cutting into their hulls and killing them with electrical shocks. Then they lift them up and use them as human shields to push into your line of robots.

>James Bond
"Tactical assessment. Those are armor piercing shells tipped with pulse function. And those mutants are armed with hydrulic Electric Claws. These forces are equipped for anti robot or anti armored warfare"

>Intel Officer
"Didn't you say the NCR uses armor boss? This could be in response to that."

The Supermutants begin slamming your own robots in melee, some with the powered claws, but a lot of others, quite literally, picking up one securitron and slamming it into another repeatedly. As these are engaged in melee, some of the others protect them using dead securitrons or simply returning fire.

Worse still, some of the MLA humans and mutants among them duck and weave around fire, carrying bags. Inside these bags are some sort of magnetic mine. They run around slamming them onto the hulls of securitron, or the NCR's armored, train, fleeing. They detonate with a shaped charge devastating both your forces and the NCR's inside their own armor.

---

>NCR Lietenant
"Deploy the tanks!

Officers, get your men to engage them in melee. We need to get them off the bloody robots they've got the firepower we need."

>NCR Officer
"Sir yes sir.

You hear the Lieutenant. FOR THE PRESIDENT, ATTACK!"

There's bugle call and a charge is sounded. The NCR soldiers rush to engage the mutants as they concentrate on your robot forces. The "Stone Men" lead the way, roaring loudest of them and stomping the ground (almost) as much as the supermutant, two of them using their huge strength to wrestle one or blast them with huge oversized blunderbusses before slamming them with the butt of their gun. Meanwhile the mass of soldiers rush forward with bayonets and begin stabbing them or firing huge .50 caliber rounds at near point bank. Working as a team and with the strength of numbers they overwhelm Super Mutants, the Stone Men tying them up while they engage your robots, and their massed infantry poking holes in them.

As they are pinned, Hazel, Riddick and several NCR Snipers start taking them out.

While the NCR's mass of soldiers and your companions and human forces pin down the mutants, your robots are free'd up to fire rockets directly onto the path of the Jet Engine Armored Truck.

There's the sound of several train and truck horn's honking at once, and then several small explosions following by a huge armored vehicle barreling through. Its jet engine is glowing red hot!

Just as it is about to smash through another Train Car the NCR Heavy Tank has deployed! It aims.

>NCR Driver
"Gunner! Aim at the Jet Engine on that monster. Wait for my mark. FIRE!"

A well timed shot aimed at the jet engine on the truck causes it to explode in a huge fireball, as it comes crashing into the rear car, but ultimately halted in its tracks.

The explosion is so loud and fierce it knocks robots, supermutants, and human onto their feet. For the briefest moment, it seems the battle was silenced.

In the middle of this silence, the heavy armored truck begins to shift.

There's a loud whirring noise, as if gears are being shifted, and engines redirected. Then poles start to come up around the top of the truck, projecting a blue forcefield.

Behind the top of the forcefield, the roof opens up, and the electric guitar begins to shred again.

Fireworks launch into the sky and explode, sparks fly from the truck, lights flash brightly.

While the robots and humans slowly get on their feet, the MLA forces begin chanting loudly.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLwIKCLPoeM

Some of your human forces and the NCR forces are confused, mesmerized by the sound, but quickly begin fighting again as sporadic gunfire and melee combat opens up.

Amidst the rising of battle, your camera's pan in on what looks to be a small stage rising from the truck along with the Tesla Tower. The rainbow halo of dancing electricity surrounds them and grows, high above the heads of all, tiny lightning bolts striking the earth as it expands, higher and wider as the music and singing gets louder.

Just when the music reaches a crescendo, the lead guitarist points his guitar at the NCR tank and screams. A lightningbolt cracks through the air, blinding everyone and shattering whatever windows were left. The tank is literally thunderstruck, and is turned into motlen slag heap while several men and even hazard bots around it were also turned into ash and molten metal, deathly power dancing from the guitarists musical weapon.

Concurrently BigMT loses connection.

You are the T.A.C.T. bot. Whatever sort of electrical weapon discharge has utterly cut off connection to BigMT Command.

You observe the tactical situation. Your robots are still engaging in sporadic melee and ranged battles with supermutants and human foes, alongside NCR allies.

The NCR's heavy weapons cannot swivel inwardly to attack either the big heavy truck or the armored tesla truck.

The Armored Tesla Truck continues to play music and charge its electric weapon. Mutant Forces appear rallied and morale boosted, and are ingoring suppression fire.

Ports are opening from the Tesla Truck, Supermutants with heavy Laser Guns and Flame Throwers are firing from inside along with Laser Turrets. In addition, fake laser light shows and pyrotechnicals are also ejecting from the truck, creating confusion and dismay among both NCR and your own Human Forces.

There is the sound of approaching buggies, almost definitively coming directly at the train now at full speed.

To clarify there is a single large Tesla Coil sticking out of the truck that generates a big electrical halo around it. Then the Guitarist points at something and plucks his strings.

Somehow, this seems to guide a lightning bolt of power onto a target

I have a theory about our tribe named "Tribe"

Our ancestors come from a Vault, and the purpose of it was to test a civilization which names people due to their jobs, and skill.

It makes sense due to many things, like bathrooms label by number, number of guards, terminals, to run a vault their be a checklist of buildings, items, numbered.

People would name kids and raise them by their jobs. New overseers are named by how many passed so Overseer #5 is the 5th one. Etc.

Somewhere before our born our people left the vault, to see how this culture would function in the wasteland. While we were a young lad something happen to the tribe, and I want to find out.

Logs will be either starterk style by date and number. Or just numbers going up.

What do you guys think of the theory? I think it makes sense and give backstory to us.

Attempting to send your robots closer to the Tesla Truck turns out to be a bad idea.

As you send your robots into berserker mode they charge foward weapons blazing and faces angry, and that seems to be exactly the response the Tesla Guitarist was hoping for.

He raises his guitar high with a scream.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uebInqG1pJI

A halo of electricity arcs and detonates the incoming missiles, exploding harmlessly (and impressively) away from the truck.

Then when the Berserkers close in for melee, he directs his thunderbolts to arc through the robots themselves. They press forward with their heavier armor, but by one they sputter, spark, and blow up exploding like burn out lightbulbs. The full fury of that truck engine overwhelming their basic EMP armor.

Luckily, because of their armor, only some of them are molten. A few look potentialy repairable.

The only saving grace are companions. In th dark smoke and fire, Riddick takes off his sungoggles and hears something heavy along with the buggies. Peering into the dark smoke, he sees something, pulls out a grenade and waits, standing in front of the oncoming roar. Just as it seems its only a few meters away, he throws the bomb into the smoke and leaps up into the air.

The grenade explodes in the darkness, and out of it barrels a big dump truck its front window shattered. Riddick had leap up just in time to come crashing through the windoshield (or rather, for the truck to move around him) and begins mauling the driver.

>NCR officer
"HOly shit thats a bomb truck."

>Alert
-Riddick is wresting control of a dump truck filed with huge amounts of dynamite and explosives!
-Numerous Rcket Buggies hae descended on the train. They are matching the securitrons missile barrages with their own
-Other buggies are right on top of the train. They are trying to steal the supplies and steal wounded and casualities
-Th NCR is scrambling to regroup and stop the buggies from taking the supplies. More mutants are attacking your robots
-The Tesla Truck is still active

>What do
>>
>>1657078
Fuck. riddick hijacks the vomb truck and drives it towards the buggies shooting down. Jump out before impact.

Securitrons fire at the mutants and buggies on the train.
Soldiers concentrate fire on the guitarist.

Also they seem to have an entire gla arsenal. When can we expect scuds and marauder tanks?
>>
>>1657078
Riddick has to get control of the dump truck filled with explosive turn it to the tesla truck, using a weight to hold the gas down before he's in range of the tesla truck.

He has to get the fuck out after he does this.

Our sharp shots, and soliders shoot the buggies shooting the rockets to our robots.

Our robots take down the mutants attacking them and keep pressure on the rocket buggies so our soldiers can take them out.

Them fighting is probably the NCR's fault. Seeing as they have set up large defensive complexes and probably just wanted to be left alone but the NCR's Manifest destiny got in the way.

>>1656817

We should burn the boon just to be safe however. It'd prevent further losses of valuable robots and troops.

>>
>>1657290
We should also build more eye bots with sensor suites which can relay data so were never blind like this again.
>>
>>1657284
Well we could design some sort of artillery: four legs like the TACT-bot for stability / carry weight and a fuck off huge gun / laser / disintegration-beam / plasma / holo-beam. It wouldn't even be hard just the resizing of our current weapons for it and producing them.

However I would argue we need to get some dedicated spotter / observation robots into our army so we can have accurate long range fire from these gun-bots and our more traditional forces.

It would also be wise to equip our bots to more easily deal with EMP attacks but such improvements could be expensive or complex. A though comes to mind about having grounding rods mounted onto our bots but we'd need to look into it.

We also need to look into making some melee improvements to the Securitron or mixing in melee bots to prevent the Supermutants / Legion / NCR's elite's pulling this trick again.

>>1657290
Like knowledge that Tesla weapons are the greatest thing ever assuming you can protect them and that these mutants have shield tech which we should most definitely steal for research.

Riddick struggles with the supermutant driver of the Truck, until he rips off a loose piece of pipe and jams it into the dashboard, locking the wheel in a hard right. He lets go of the truck and is flung off, as the truck lurches and flips over on its side.

Riddick, acting fast, tumbles and runs at full sprint, as the buggy drivers attempt to swerve out of crashing into the bomb truck.

One of them fails, and it creates an even greater explosion that overshadows the music. Riddick is last seen diving into a ditch.

Rocket Buggies and enemy alike are caught in the blast, sending deadly shrapnel shards everywhere. Your securitrons cover allied human soldiers with their bodies, taking the best of it, while exposed supermutants are riddled with flying metal. One flaming rocket buggy is launched high into the air and slams right on top of the Tesla Tower, impaling itself. The drivers are burnt to ash and the buggy itself turns red then white hot and melts down around the Tesla Coil, neutralizing it.

The frightened band members duck down into the armored truck, including the guitarist. Seems the armored truck has also lost its nerve and begins pulling away.

What's more, the cavalry has arrived. The roar of another jet, this one from high above, is heard as big missiles and bombs land around the train blowing up yet more buggies, and the sound of Choppers and Vertbirds are in the sky. The big construction dozer is blown up several strafing runs and bombs.

Morale starts breaking down among the enemy forces, and there are screams and shoutig among them. Evidently with the EMP effect and no radio leadership, they all follow suit of the armored car. Everywhere injured and bleeding super mutants and humans scramble onto the remaining buggies still left alive, as they flee with what cargo and captives they can.

Your forces and the NCR fire at them and then some as they pull away into the smoke.

Mercifully, the battle is over. And you and the NCR are left to

>And you and the NCR are left to

I dont like securitrons. They arent modular enough and i feel they look kinda dorky. Too blocky.

I would prefer it if we had an armoured humanoid base that carries a big gun. Then specializing would only be a matter of replacing which gun they carry. Big laser machine gun, big laser cannon, big flame thrower/ arc welder.
>>
>>1657274
I have reasons to believe that the Mutant army has access to FEV.
Why take the captives when they just need supplies?
Either eat the captives, brainwash them, random, turn them in super mutants with FEV.
Think about it super mutant are dumb, the Master took captives and turn them into super mutants for his army.
I don't be surprise if they are making more super humans like the master.

So lore is when Master was killed they went East, but flee west attacked by the brotherhood
A theroy is some super mutants from the Master army is doing the same thing with the captives.

Like a lot of things. Like how our robot designs are outdated and that we should adopt one of the heavy versions we researched.
Like you said, having dedicated sensor bots.
Better emp protection.

Hopefully, this field data will be enough to help us develop Mark VI programming.
>>
>>1657327
>I don't like securitrons. They aren't modular enough and i feel they look kinda dorky. Too blocky.
I agree on the blocky point which we can solve given time but we spent a turn making them highly modular and rendering them easily repaired in the field by the same method.

>I would prefer it if we had an armoured humanoid base that carries a big gun. Then specialising would only be a matter of replacing which gun they carry. Big laser machine gun, big laser cannon, big flame thrower/ arc welder.
Rather than with Securitrons where we just slot in new modules. Also I hate humanoid robots outside of commercial / service roles. Anyhow with the upgrades we have made to the Securitrons they are quite humanoid.

Battle Results:
-Train - Shattered. It will take weeks and another work train to clear this one, and the engine has been shot up to hell.
-Supplies - Relatively intact, some minor loses. The mission is still operational
-Casualties:
NCR:
Approximately 66 men including wounded. 46 permanent. Roughly 250+ remaining
Your expert doctors were able to successfully recover 20 of the wounded, nearly all of the wounded actually. The rest were obvious deaths.

Interestingly the Stone Men of the NCR all have Type O- Blood and were willingly donating it to others that need it.

You:
37 MKV Hazard Bots. 30 permanent casualties
-7 were in a repairable state, and have been restored.
-22 are irreplacable losses (disintegration, obliteration, or other)
-10 wrecks are reportedly stolen by the enemy
11 Human Casualties. 5 permanent
7 were recovered and are in fighting condition thanks to your doctors and their augmentations. 2 were burnt to ash and witnessed. 3 are MIA (1 officer, 1 regular, 1 follower of the apocalypse)

Alert!

>>1657331
>Like how our robot designs are outdated
They really aren't. We just have roles in our army that need to be filled and possibly need to look into getting them better armed.

>that we should adopt one of the heavy versions we researched.
Trust me that wouldn't solve the fundamental problems with our armies and in theory could make things worse.

>Hopefully, this field data will be enough to help us develop Mark VI programming.
To be frank we should probably have some sort of software refinement project running in the background. Maybe have an AI (or more) constantly examine our combat footage for ways to improve our code? Or we could simulate combat inside of VR sims and use that. Essentially my point is we should get something set up soon.

In brighter news, surveying the damage, several dozen enemy vehicles of all shapes and sizes are burning, and dozens of super-mutants. The enemy clearly took a hell of a beating here, and its likely their personell casualties match your own as well. Maybe even higher.

----

The train destroyed NCR is prepared for this contingency.

Onboard the Armored Train are several trucks, and already men are loading them up and salvaging whatever fuel can be had from the train.

The rest of the convoy will be going on foot following the railroad. There's enough trucks to have the whole convoy mechanized and mobile including the supplies. Even enough for your men.

So what are these supplies for? Is this a city that's in need of supplies?
>>
>>1657387
Assuming they're smart enough to do that level of reaearch.

We have to start doing military ops some times and we cant always pick our battles. Best do it when we have other peoples troops at our side to act as fodder.
>>
>>1657387
>So you don't believe a faction like this, won't resort to dirty deeds or some other fashion to pump everybody capture of information?
No I believe they would but I doubt they are going to think we are another nation rather than a band of mercs hired by the NCR along side some robots they had. Plus based off of what others think, our people are probably being made into Mutants as we speak.

>Or Rip apart our bots to find out how they tick?
Trust me they wouldn't learn much of value. They are a prewar design and their weapons already counter them effectively enough.

>>1657388
>Do the implants we gave them improve their willpower?
Probably not but they do make them heal faster and deal with damage better.

>Will they discover the implants?
Only if they cut them open or try to eat them.

>They've been rendered into slag, ain't nothing you can get from that.
If only we had gotten a Field constructor up and running.
>>
>>1657385
It will only get harder if they repair and regroup. And if you think we wont be able to recover our people, what makes you think rangers can? The sooner we start persuing them the more likely we can catch them before they get to their base or before they het the tesla weapon back online.

Youre letting the bismark limp back to base.

Anon, The fuck do you think that is? That's smarts and also balls. You also don't seem to understand, NCR didn't act like fodder in this. This was going on a field operation for metal WITHOUT any fucking intelligence on what/who we were fighting.

>>1657395
There is clearly some form of leadership and if they captured what they did, they will surely be pumped before hand. Also, Yes they will KNOW it was OUR nations forces we sent. Not some hierd merc's if information pumped. Don't underestimate the enemy. Last we did that the Legion won the desert.

>>1657397
We should't have sent ANYTHING without getting proper information before hand to plan our bots.
>>
>>1657396
Mate we are under contract. We can't go gallivanting off to try and save three people.

I'd discuss the rest of your points but that is the end of that to me.
>>
>>1657400
If we convince them to break of a force to give perauit then we can follow as part of the contract. Convince the commander that the tesla weapon is to dangerous to be kept operational. And there is glory and reward to be had in taking it out.
>>
>>1657399
>>1657400
After this we should get a bonus for agreeing to an op despite them withholding intel from us.
>>
>>1657387
>NCR Liuetenant
"Take a look at these wrecked vehicles. Notice anything?"

>Riddick
"Looks like it was put together from different models. Too much welding and forced structural changes."

>NCR Lietenant
"Exactly. These here are parts from one of our own NCR trucks. This here seems to be from something else entirely. There's electronic parts from Robco, General Atomics. These vehicles were put together from scratch."

The TACT bot analyzes the wrecks as well

>Veronica
"Hey, that's a brotherhood of steel logo! And some of the corpses are wearing pieces of power armor!"

>NCR Lietenant
"Yes, we've noticed that a lot studying their wrecks a well. We have no reason to believe the NCR would willingly supply them, especially in the manner they use technology.

Wherever they are operating, they have access to crude salvaging and jurry rigging capabilities. Even their weapons seem hashed together. This indicates they have expert engineers but no production capabilities, consistent with their raiding of our supply lines at every turn.

Their combat strategy tends to favor ambushes and very gaudy attacks. And they are willing to embrace the concept of retreat, unlike the Legion."
>>
>>1657404
*The BoS would willingly supply them
>>
>>1657400
Our hero can go and try to track down the 3 people.
It's something our courier can do, in the meanwhile, maybe dressed up.

Or you know just keep on the mission
>>
>>1657399
Theres a difference between jury rigging tesla coils and laer weapons, principles that existed pre war, and reverse engineering a complex robot.

As for intel, we werent going to get intel. It was an intentional leap of faith given by the NCR. We wont have intel for everything.
>>
>>1657405
They willingly supplied their corpses.

>>1657404
>>1657407
To be fair they'll likely just scrap the gear and hobble it with the rest of their stuff, they don't seem to have any industrial capabilities.
>>
>>1657402
Yes Anon, Let us CHASE down the enemies we still have no Intel on into there back yard. When they seem to be great at Hit and run, and ambush tactics. That'll clearly get our people back.

>>1657404
These guys are insane, Any idea where and how they are operating out of?
>>
>>1657397
I wanted to send that many since it would prevent losses.

>>1657399
>There is clearly some form of leadership and if they captured what they did, they will surely be pumped before hand.
Unlikely that they are going to pump every low ranking doctor and officer for information.

>Also, Yes they will KNOW it was OUR nations forces we sent. Not some hierd merc's if information pumped.
And you assume our people wouldn't lie or something.

>Don't underestimate the enemy. Last we did that the Legion won the desert.
No. That happened because we rolled TWO 1's and did not do anything. Don't alter events to suit your view.

>>1657402
>If we convince them to break of a force to give perauit then we can follow as part of the contract. Convince the commander that the tesla weapon is to dangerous to be kept operational. And there is glory and reward to be had in taking it out.
Except we can't because they have their mission and we are being payed to help them complete it. Nothing more or less.

>>1657403
>After this we should get a bonus for agreeing to an op despite them withholding intel from us.
You can suggest it but I doubt they'll listen. We didn't have to agree to help them.

>>
>>1657415

>>
>>1657413
Well we can try. Its not like nazi generals never went after targets of glory and opportunity at expense of the mission before.
And the contract is just do whatever is needed for 7 turns. Not anything particular.
>>
>>1657416

"Not even I know that, but I'll be honest this mission is a desperate one.

The NCR doesn't have an unlimited supply of manpower. I mean, even with getting these Stone Men on our side. I'm sure if they could, they'd send a force three times as large as us, but I wager we're the most they could scrap together.

I don't and can't actually tell you what they did or did leave out for you. I will say that with the way information is now tightly guarded, we've had far less instances of espionage and frumtenarii subversion. That plagued us in the early phases of the war, "loose lips sink ships."

What I can tell you is there's probably a reason you guys were contracted for this in as much force as they could get."

>>1657392
"Yes. The MLA is trying to starve the Flooded City out, or weaken them to the point that they can't resist.

Our mission is titled "Operation Frozen Ladoga". If that doesn't make sense to you, don't worry, it doesn't for any of us as well. That's probably why we do so much better now. Kimball would probably have called it "Operation Flooded City Rescue" or something obvious.

The people there, they're starved of food, fuel, and ammunition. Most of the Stormtroopers remember what that was like back in Portland, and they'd sooner die than fail to relieve the city."
>>
>>1657424
Its slow and its heavily damaged. The turbine is heavily damaged and that seems to be its main form of propulsion. We can easily catch up, deal with it, and link up with the ncr convoy.

This is an opportunity we wont get again without incruing more loss.
>>
>>1657420
Pretty much. fucking lazy workers calling in "Sick" to a restaurant, and then posting their evening adventures on social media and wonder why I advised the GM to fire them.

Still Thread diving mainly, posted the WIP Todo list earlier in the thread >>1654126 if people wanted to double-check to see if I missed anything, or feels anything should be added.

>>1657437
Churchill, We don't have the planes to send after it and any smaller things we send will be destoryed. Ask the American's with the jets to sink it, Don't expect us.
>>
>>1657440
We dont need planes. The biggest weapon is the tesla coil which is not operational. If we catch up we can pin it long enough to call an ncr airstrike on it.
>>
>>1657441
Goddamnit Anon. 1. Planes are faster then our bots and 2. They are already on deck.
>>
>>1657436

>>
>>1657441
>>1657446
We already have planes, remember the Alien Scout Ship? But then comes the problem of revealing our Wunderwaffe.
>>
>>1657452
>Ever sharing or showing the Wunderwaffe

Not until we get more to fight for air dominance.
>>
>>1657452
1) We have no communication with the Convoy.

2) We are fucking miles away from our homeland.

3) That thing'd end up being taken out.
>>
>>1657446
The planes aren't being sent out to deal with this. They have to return to base to refuel and rearm. By the time they get back out there, the tesla truck would be lost to us.
If we follow, we can target it, hopefully pin them for when the planes are back up.
>>
>>1657457
>Hopefully
>After what just happened
Lolno.
>>
>>1657459
Most of the damage was the tesla truck, which is disabled. If we don't do it now, when we face it again it would be repaired, and deal more even more losses to us. It would be foolish to let it go.
>>
>>1657462
And there is still multiple vechials out there that can fire anti-armor/robot weapons are our people. Aircraft are the better FORCE for this task Anon. Stop being a fucking idiot.
>>
>>1657474
Yes, but the NCR planes have to refuel and rearm. THey can't go on prolonged operations. So we have to pursue to keep track of them so the planes can return and deal with them.

The Older Woman is thawed. As before, Jacob Miles and Tony Gam are both there, along with yourself, to help ease the process. It is unknown even if her mind is fully intact, but you decide against throwing her into the Auto-Doc to startle or frighten her further.

Her body unfreezes, but it takes a day for her psyche to unfreeze as well, as she gives her name as Janith Kintergarden. The last she remembers was auditioning for a cooking show.

You do your best to orient her to what has happened, feeding information to her slowly, letting her adjust.

Here's my take, make of it what you will.

Hero - Track down our MIA soldiers. Take Dan Dan , and anyone else who wants to come but keep it a small group. Perhaps use the alien scout ship for fast travel.

Civilian - Convert the Toxin Facility to our FEV Lab. We already have the Blueprints.

Construction - Build us a Train for easier access to Trona.

Millitary - Have James Bond and our General find ways to counter MLA tactics / Fix any flaws in our training based off what we saw.

Robotics - Research Improved Eyebots designed for combat assistance/Info Relay/Sensor Suits.

Ranger assassination teams are generally 5, and I don't expect a 20 man stealth op. They'd keep the numbers low.

Assuming that the bases they are being held in doesn't have AA guns. At which point we are screwed.

>Ranger assassination teams are generally 5, and I don't expect a 20 man stealth op. They'd keep the numbers low.
True but seeing how the NCR's changed I think that basing things off of our expectations or the game won't help. For all we know the rangers have been replaced with something new.

Yes but what I am saying is that these might not be similar to rangers as we know them. Hell they might be like the stone men or something.
>>
>>1657676
They don't have total AA coverage. Most AA would be on the boarders, past them you have free air. There will be a place to land and operate off of.

>>1657677
Leave a pilot behind to fly over and abduct us when leaving.

I don't think rangers would have changed much. Brutes like the stone men are less than optimal in "Ranger type" mission. That's why they have storm troopers and such. Rangers would be special forces operators like they always were. The NCR needs special forces.

>Leave a pilot behind to fly over and abduct us when leaving.

Between our advanced observation systems, access to psychological theory / practical material and such. We could design a AI (or add the functions onto an existing one like Alexa) to care for all of our citizens mental health requirements and to advise them on certain matters like perspective friends / romantic companions. Based off of physical traits, behaviours, pastimes and other such things.
>>
>>1657842

>>1657842

>>
>>1657846
Not just a matchmaking function. An AI that functions as a full-blown psychiatrist and Councillor. Something that can detect the early signs of depressive behaviour or of phobia's or other such mental conditions. Preventing such issues becoming a problem in our society and curing them in new arrivals and such.
>>
>>1657871
We should clone/make chickens to get their eggs.
>>
>>1657871
But then comes the problem of who would be the best candidate for that. To my memory only the MCs have capabilities like that.
>>
>>1657871
Doc Mitchel knows Psychiatry. Allegedly. Though that would be another AI. But why not.
>>
>>1657875
To be frank we should but if we want something like that we can most easily get them by trading with other nations.

The Legion controls the most land and we only need a dozen chickens so chances are they'd have them available enough for us to get a good flock.

However I would advise we should continue with the near vegetarian diet for as long as possible to make the most efficient use of resources. If we need meat we can hunt for it.
>>
>>1657876
That is why we have an AI do it. As it can take in a near endless amount of data and refine it's understanding over the generations.

>>1657877

>>

>>
>>1657883
Cloning could prove to be resource intensive and would require research we currently lack. However I do wish to perform research into artificial wombs to allow for faster population growth and could probably fit it into that.

Tofu has the nutritional quality of dirt. I'd sooner advise feeding our people nothing but bananas.

However we should consider getting samples of "rad-growing" mushrooms. Such as the "glowing mushrooms" which can easily allow for us to grow food in minorly irradiated regions and underground.

>>1657888
Tofu is coagulated bean curds from soy beans turned into soy milk.

Its a terrible food that vegetarians will try and convince you is good. But is incredibly versatile. Made from Soy beans and soy milk.
>>
>>1657894
Doesn't soy have lots of protein? unless most of the good stuff is processed out of the curds.

If we had the mushrooms from ZIon we could grow cleansing mushrooms that purify the body of radiation.
>>
>>1657896
It does however lack any and all nutritional value.
>>
>>1657894
>>1657898

A brief google search of Nutritional value shows with a high calcium intake, as well as providing protein. Nutrients don't look that bad.

124g on a 2000calorie diet (Who knows what they use in fallout) = 43% of your calcium intake, 36% of your Iron intake, gives you 9% Magnesium, 2% Vitamin A and 5% Vitamin B-6 as well as 20% protein. with only 2.3g of Carbohydrates.
>>
>>1657897
>Doesn't soy have lots of protein? unless most of the good stuff is processed out of the curds.
According to Wiki it is 16% protein but according to a health site I found it also contains a bunch of things that prevent the body absorbing shit from it.

Essentially, we would be better off sticking with something else for now at least. I think the mushroom plan will work better long term.

>If we had the mushrooms from ZIon we could grow cleansing mushrooms that purify the body of radiation.
We could take a trip there and grab a few samples, a few days or a week or two to get there and back.

>>ROBOTICS
>Design a artillery / rear line robot. Same 4 leg design as the TACT bot. Must be able to equip any form of heavy armament we will design in future. Should be decently armoured. Preferably should be able to receive targeting data from other droids. Sensors are a low priority.
It turns out the hard part wasn't the robot itself. It was the darned artillery. None of your scientists have any experience with that or heavy ballistics, the Bolt Cannon thing took a while on the original Tact bot itself.

Luckily, you do have a perfect examples of not only artillery but also an Automated Loading System. Your scientists with their alienized research robots proceed to study it in great detail.

In addition to this, the Chinese War Factory also has both Tank Guns AND an actual incendiary artillery piece to study, providing further available knowledge.

Once having a basic understanding of ballistics and heavier shells the next part is fitting it all within the existing TACT bot frame. The gun itself is relatively small, nothing Boomer sized but more of a light howitzer or a heavy mortar so as not to shatter the suspension of the quadruped. The upshot is the legs being mainly hydraulics will have less wear and tear than if they were treaded vehicles, though treaded vehicles can still carry more weight.

The very basic version is equipped with Digital Radio, an Autoloader system, and the Howitzer Shell along a basic TACT frame which can be equipped with either a basic Securitron Based low level AI for accepting and performing orders, or a more advanced and sentient Brain.

This is called the TACT Howitzer Carriage MK1. It can fire both conventional heavy shells or the Chinese Incendiary Black Napalm Shells (your Chinese War Factory can produce these shells from Potash and/or Biofuels as well as Metal). There is also an option for Depleted Uranium Shells which can irradiate an area, but these shells use small amounts of fissile material.

Though it has an autoloader, the ammunition storage must be loaded from behind, either by human or machine.

>Double 94
Seeing this need, the Research Team has a sudden Brain Blast and develops even further research.

They develop two new technologies. They develop a specialized loading robot. Just drop boxes of shells next to it, and it will pick up and load the machine for it though this is meant for more static firing positions.

They also develop a much larger version of the energy-to-bullets module. It makes the artillery robot heavier, but completely independent of material resources. However, it will either have to be upgraded with big Alien Batteries, large Fissile Material batteries, or be plugged into a power grid.

It is a mobility capable weapon, but tactical projections predict will function even more superior in the semi-mobile artillery turret role.

Speed can be improved by spending fissile materials for an Alienized version.
>>
>>1658097
No but we have Unity nearby at all times and are building a FEV lab in the near future seemingly.

>>
>>1658106
The Alien Power Batteries cost less fissile materials and more metal, but they have to be recharged. Thus energy logistics factor in.

The Fissile Material batteries cost more fissile materials and less metal but do not have to be recharged.

>CONSTRUCTION
>Build a train.

Why build a train when you can repair one? And that's exactly what your crews do!

Remembering the intact train you found a while ago, and with what is left of your securitrons, supermutants, and other robots back home, they slowly lift the big diesel and cars, one at a time. All the meanwhile, repair bots begin analyzing the parts and pieces and ordering fresh ones from the Chinese War Factory.

--

At his office, you meet up with Jacob Miles and are surprised to find out what he has made in his spare time in his office.

A scaled model of BigMT and the surrounding San Bernadino area. It has a crashed mothership, little Hexes of New Washington, and the railroad running to the mine. He even has tiny little holographic projection of people walking the city streets and the crater.

More importantly he has a model of a working automated mine for the two places, manned by tiny little robots. He places a brick of limestone, and they immediately set to digging, loading, and trailing it on the toy train to BigMT.

>Jacob Miles
"I was an avid train fan since my dad was a locomotive engineer. Never did get into the railway business, but I suppose now is the best time! Hey, I guess its lucky the NCR never came to offer me a job position as their chief railroad engineer. Ha."

Jacob Miles has researched a model for a completel automated hexcrete mine. It saves you a research action!

>CHOOSE
The question arises on the fuel for the train. A new nuclear engine could be built at a cost for (Pleniful) Fissile Materials and lots of steel and never need to be recharged, a biofuel engine could be initially built cheaply, or it could be given an Alien Energy Cell and run off your power grid at a moderate initial cost.

>Missles are inefficient- rail guns or lasers. Just pew pew the planes out of the sky. QUick and simple.
True but heat-seeking missiles are more accurate and in theory easier to do if we can make them from basic replicators (the non-sierra madre ones).

>>1658150
>Those power cells and power plants that generate more energy once they are kick started. Like the power cells of power armor begore f4 came out
Oh those. Yeah we can probably find those. If worst comes to worst just get a Recharger rifle and refine / study it because they create the energy they fire.

>>1658177
Alien cell. Rechargeable trains are good enough for now and we can solve the problem longer term by having a "third rail" that carries power or something. Plus it avoids straining our limited fuel supplies or exploding radioactively.
>>
>>1658215
Heat seeking missiles are not more accurate and not in theory easier to make.

Laser's travel at the speed of light, or damn well close to it. These ones in fallout defy normal logic. Won't be thrown off cause of heat, and can burn through nearly any armor.

And the power cells, ya gotta make those and mix'em with Alien juices.
>>
Also I had some thoughts on further improvements to our citizen's lives.

The obvious answer is to continue to reduce the time they spend doing labour. This could be achieved by producing further farming robots / creating farming machines like tractors / automated greenhouses.

Or we could look into producing home-bots: cleaners, cooks, nanny's and so on. By having these be communal, we avoid them being used inefficiently and make everyone's lives a little better. While also getting more sensors / interaction systems for James Bond and Alexa.

Obviously we will need things for them to do with their new free time but I would suggest creating things which benefit them: classes, clubs and such.
>>
>>1658231
Yup. That's the general QOL upgrades. But there is a lot that has to be done. We'll get around to those things eventually.
>>
test
>>
>>1658227
>Heat seeking missiles are not more accurate and not in theory easier to make.
In fallout there is one example of a military produced man-carried rail gun. It never saw deployment into the field for being too inefficient if I remember rightly.

As to lasers, I have previously stated my knowledge of physics and why they would be incredibly ineffective.

>Laser's travel at the speed of light, or damn well close to it. These ones in fallout defy normal logic. Won't be thrown off cause of heat, and can burn through nearly any armor.
As far as we know but OP is seemingly running it slightly off of in-game logic since in that football gear stops bullets.

Also they will be thrown off by heat: it bends the air which diffracts and reflects the beam. Heat also turns the target material into a gas which can block lasers as well.

>And the power cells, ya gotta make those and mix'em with Alien juices.
True the alien power cells do make power problems a bit easier but only on the storage side, not on the generation side.

>>1658234
True but doing them could free up additional man-hours from our citizens and thus increase productivity. Plus it will prevent people leaving as much.
>>
>>1657554
>CIVILIAN
Gather hexcrete.

A /substantial/ amount of extra Hexcrete is already available at the mines. There has been considerable backflow due to inability to actually transport it.

But now there is. There's plenty of railcars, which are all loaded up to the brim. Unfortunately there's no engine. Just railcars.

So you make do.

With the Bawang Tank. With supply trucks. With securitrons and the big robots and supermutants.

And chains and leather. LOTS of chains and leather, strapped to robotic torso's and supermutant shoulders, and the back of the tank.

Which we aren't.

>We have a Crashed UFO that had FTL travel, Machines that can make matter out of energy
None of those things are impossible. Also we don't know if it had FTL seeing as it is a worldship and could probably travel for decades without needing the slightest resupply.

>Laser's that have proven to ignore normal logic and physics in setting.
Not really. They follow it for the most part but I'd argue that they don't follow it because it wouldn't be fun if your laser gun was useless beyond 8 meters because then you'd just use plasma guns.

Actually we have access to better energy beam weapons. Even ignoring alien tech. Elijah's make-shift Holorifle is far better seemingly.

Now now the song is from 1866, it's not communist just Russian.

well we can make some magnetic pellet launcher to take out planes.

As for the holorifle, it shoots slow bullets. rails and laser are quick, which is what you want when shooting fast, nimble faraway things like airplanes.

Holo-rifles are shit for AA. You need laser's and a possible secondary/third defense network.

We are in game and some weird real world? logic

Mothership DID use FTL if my memory of F3 is right. They appear out of a bright light before you fire on them.

I already USE plasma guns, too slow for AA sadly.

Also, We'd have to work on the alien weapons and get them more produceable. We need a cheapish AA that's quick to fire and can hit near instantly.

What we should do is have multiple layer. Railguns for anti plane, followed by point defense lasers to zap bombs and missles and shells out of the sky.

True.

True, I'd only looked at the Wiki which sadly doesn't show it firing.

How about we make use of the tech from the LAER rifle? Essentially it is a laser but at larger scales it would also work as a EMP / electrical weapon.

True.

I know but what I mean is that we aren't in the game, we are in OP's interpretation of how the game should work.

>Mothership DID use FTL if my memory of F3 is right. They appear out of a bright light before you fire on them.
True but that could just be them decloaking or something. Now why they were cloaked is a good question with no answer so you are probably right.

>I already USE plasma guns, too slow for AA sadly.
No I mean that as a game designer if you followed real world physics even slightly you'd realise that lasers are shit at long range just as much as plasma and thus that they would fill the same role and wouldn't include both.

>Also, We'd have to work on the alien weapons and get them more produceable. We need a cheapish AA that's quick to fire and can hit near instantly.
LAER provides that or we could go conventional AA gun.

Fair enough on the OP part

Ya no, I understand why Plasma/Laser's/Rail, coil, ect are a pain in the ass. It honestly sucks but then again I just enjoy rule of cool more.

This?

Okay guys, we designed YET ANOTHER robot. How about we actually go around building them?
