In a distant star system with a bright blue star the Pestilence orbited an airless moon over a gas giant, the continent sized storms flashing with a dazzling array of lightning. The jagged black ship sat in its pocket of twisted light watching as a shuttle seemed to appear out of nothingness dozens of kilometers away headed directly for them. Passing through the stealth cloak the shuttle docks with the destroyer that sends a faint rumble through the vessel.Airlocks hiss as they slide open and a single Knight, made from the reanimated bones of unruly Warblood, bows low to the pair of Blackscale that emerge from the shuttle. They merely give a curt nod to the undead who turns to guide them to the main chamber where Raakah and Beqor awaited to greet their cousins.A flatbody gargoyle slithering through the ventilation ducts in between repair tasks pauses to look through a grating to observe the reptilians momentarily. They wore similar necromancer robes as the other Cabal, the design descended from the garb the Necromancers of the old Armada wore. Like the other Blackscale they too possessed mutations that marred their forms, one having a tail that split into two halfway along and the other sporting a frill of spines around its neck and throat like some strange beard. The doors to the main chamber slide open with a faint hiss and Raakah and Beqor stand from the table that dominated the center of the circular room in between the trio of thrones at the edges. Moving over they greet their cousins with quick embraces, all four making subtle motions to feel for weaponry on the others while exchanging greetings in their guttural natural tongue that was a bastardized mix of the Sunscale language and Wormtongue. They each take a seat around the table then, zombified Worker Sunscale shuffling out with trays of cooked food to place on the table before their masters and their guests. The new Blackscale look at the building feast with surprise and appreciation, Raakah trying her best to hide her smug grin."This is quite a feast, dear cousins," says the split-tail female as she wrenches a wing off a roasted raptorserpent from Horizon's Drop.Beqor nods their head, reaching out for a rukorian crustacean that feebly tried to crawl away from him after having only been briefly boiled to remove its coat of irritating fur, "We have been quite fortuitous as of late. We shall discuss that soon. First, we eat," he says with a toothy smile before biting the crustacean in half. The other Blackscale let out sounds of agreement and begin to hungrily devour their meals quite messily. The Solar Harbinger watches from its shadowed alcove beside Guirs vacant throne, observing the gathering of remnants from the Wormstars curse as you plot lightyears away how to make this new Cabal your own as well.

>>1609604Elemental Event - Arc Surge>An unusual increase in Arc energy throughout the sector, and possibly the galaxy, allows for Arc based technology and weaponry to work better than expected including boosting research speed concerning related experiments. Arc wielders also report an unexpected ease to their abilities, once lofty feats coming easier to even the freshest novice.Finished Research:>Advanced Hardlight Structures: Further experiments into refining the capabilities of the crystalline hard-light projectors the Think Tanks have unveiled a vast array of potential applications for their newfound mastery. They cite the supernaturally formed crystal growths of Illuminator Tlacex as an inspiration, his uniquely formed hard-light projectors providing a key breakthrough.>Arc Relay: A proposed new method of travel using the Arc due to the Arc Drives significantly increased performance during the Arc Surge and the Think Tanks increased knowledge of Sub-Space physics>Zaeen Dissection results: A thorough examination of the corpses and the pair of living zaeen specimens captured by Nekris has revealed much about the spacefaring species. Believed to be little more than mindless creatures they have been revealed to be mildly intelligent but lack true sapience. Their digestive systems resemble both a fuel refinery and an organic reactor, the zaeen feeding on the atmosphere of gas giants for their dietary needs. Initially flatbody gargoyles and devouring worms sent into the corpses alarmed the Think Tanks as the zaeen seemed to possess a form of psionic dampening material within the bones of their skull. Organs placed throughout their body but particularly concentrated in the armored crest of their heads are highly sensitive to gravitic fields and forces, allowing the creatures to navigate through the void of space. Similar but larger organs the Think Tanks call gravity bladders are the source of their sub-light propulsion. The strangest part of the zaeen biology is that within their armored crests they are able to produce the reality disruptive energies needed to tear a rift into Sub-Space granting the semi-sentient creatures the capability to travel quite similar to a Warp Drive equipped vessel. This gives serious weight to the spacer myths of zaeen causing collisions with starships during FTL travel. Genetic sequencing within the zaeen reveal heavy genetic tampering at a baseline level, several Think Tanks pointing out similar markers within the lifeforms from Tenebrous along with the Ahkam and, surprisingly, the Esat species. Sequences within their DNA show the capability of reshaping portions of their body or even the growth of new organs during fetal development, leading to the Think Tank to propose they may have a hidden capability.

>>1609621Unlocked:>Hard-light Training Room: This new holo-simulation training facility allows for living subjects to practice their skills in a high fidelity simulation in relative safety. Weapons that would normally kill are reduced to a painful bruise or burn that can be easily and quickly treated. The addition of simulation training can boost the competence of living soldiers before deployment, or help to speed up the training process of individuals seeking to improve their abilities. The holo-chamber is compact and efficient, and can be easily constructed in a building or starship of almost any size, offering a place for agents and clones to be quickly trained prior to deployment, improving the odds of success for any clone or agent related espionage and improving the quality of clones in general.>Hard-light Interiors: Armada architecture is now capable of utilizing hard-light as both aesthetic enhancements and furniture to interior facilities, and as militarized defense systems to halt the progress, or prevent the escape of intruders. The fields projected by the hard-light projectors are not powerful, and are only capable of temporarily staving off a concerted effort to pass through with any suitable weapon system, but can serve as a moderate obstacle to enhance and already overwhelming defense, or stall until such a defense can be mounted. The projectors can create holograms of any shape or form, however they lack any weight behind them and cannot outright harm intruders by themselves. While it could be possible to sell this technology for great profit in non-Armadan space, your structures could also easily use this as a form of attraction and civilian pacification, improving the morale of a population living within hive space.>Hard-light Adaptable Equipment: A small compact hard-light projector that comes preprogrammed with a variety of hard-light structures allowing civilians of almost any species to use the same tools without awkward adjustments or expensive ergonomics, allowing for commercial expansion at an otherwise unprecedented rate. Typically worn as a bracer or gauntlet the projector can create an almost unlimited array of tools, that while they are not as durable or precise as equipment created for specific tasks, can be switched between at ease. The constructs produced are not strong enough to produce enough force to inflict serious damage against a target, tools such as hammers or drills being recreated several times a second to compensate for their rather fragile nature.>Hard-light Construction Equipment: Similar in effect to the much smaller adaptable equipment these projectors can be installed into construction vehicles to create a wide array of hard-light structures for use in large scale construction projects.
>>1609638>Hard-light Combat Device: Typically taking the form of paired armored bracers or gauntlets these devices have several complex crystalline hard-light projectors embedded within that grant a variety of uses. Capable of projecting a hard-light blade or shield they can also project bolts of hard-light similar to a photonic blaster. In addition they can create the same utilitarian tool constructs that the civilian adaptable equipment can produce for battlefield repairs of weaponry or devices. Their construction means a soldier equipped with them cannot use forearm mounted weaponry except for the standard sting whip. The gauntlets can easily be made to be part of an exoarmor, their projectors helping enhance any additional hard-light armor the armor may have.>Arc Relay: Utilizing the power derived from the Arc Fount and a deeper understanding of FTL and Arc physics the Arc Relays allow for near instantaneous travel between them. Constructed near a solar systems star(s) the Arc Relay is a type of space-station slightly smaller than an orbital platform. Functioning on similar basics as the Storm Gate an Arc Relay can energize starships with Arc energy before ripping open a tear in space-time through the Arc itself allowing for incredibly fast FTL transportation between attuned Relays. An Arc Relay is capable of farcasting starships to solar systems without a local Relay, the speed of travel reduced along with an inability to accurately plot their exit destination within the target system. Possessing only a few docking pylons for passing ships the Relays do have several chambers for living travelers to rest or resupply in comfort. Lacking proper defenses beyond a handful of strikecraft hangars it must rely on protection from local picket fleets. Cost: 2,000,000B 1,500,000MPassive upgrades:>Gravity Sensor Boost: The gravity sensitive organs of the zaeen have provided an insight into refining the sensitivity of current gravity sensors>Grav-Thruster Boost: Grav-thrusters have gained a slight increase in speed and maneuverability away from strong gravity fieldsResearch unlocked:>Psionic Dampening: Medium - By studying the strange mix of materials within the zaeen's skull the Think Tanks hope to develop a way to interfere with psionic signals
>>1609700>Arc RelayWe should begin building one in Horizon's Drop, along with a fast respond fleet. Also I am curious about the Hard-light Interiors, can hide the interior appearance of a disguised ship? Make them look like the real things instead of the bone and organic matter.
>>1609700Letting the Blackscale feast and chat amicably among themselves you turn your mind to other matters. You watched through the eyes of Buddy and his crew as they arrived in the Veraga system on their way toward the bustling spaceports of Veraga Prime. The Wick was just docking at their common pylon where several cargo trucks waited to load up the masses of kelp they transported.Commander Rethak and Rosa greet the other Necrolytes to awaken from their recovery, the new Immortals mingling with their comrades. They begin to speak of wishing to leave the Charnel Vault though, wanting to depart for Iti'a'Ropku or to rejoin the Legion. Despite their wishes they listen to Rethak's words when he promises they will not be confined for long. You notice that Ruscuv had contacted Jor, the Lich speaking with the Necromancer for a short time. Long enough to point out that Ruscuv had sent him a special gift. As the Coffin that had come from Clour landed Jor could barely hold back a grimace as the spindly form of the Caretaker emerges into view. Jor orders the undead to the Necromancers tower and held in a cell they used to contain their sacrifices, the undead remaining in sullen silence the entire time. There was a message from an Obsidianborn ship docked at an orbital platform, the stonestar chieftain departing for Iti'a'Ropku wishing to meet with you or a Harbinger.Valresko returned from the Urdir system, retreating to his modest temple on the moon where he took the Kosda prisoner gained from the raids against Tura. The Solar Dominator requests your presence should you have the time for when he initiates the frightened scientist into the first of his Disciples. Also on the moon Vle'Karak requests an audience with you and Eiton both, his message holding a weight of urgency but refraining from discussing it through a demi-Think Tank that followed him onto the surface.Muic's Think Tanks manage to establish contact briefly once more, a solar flare from the blue dwarf interfering with their communications. Despite the issues Muic reports that she and her captives were ready for pick-up, the fleet sent to retrieve her only now arriving in the Drakon system before departing shortly for Throne.>cont
>>1609936Eyegores throughout the Ahkam territories show that in the aftermath of the raid against the Tura system the Ahkam forces rushed to reinforce and repair the damages done, new fleets appearing in the system as others depart. You were pleasantly surprised to see in the Osjiic Empires N'Tiin system a strike fleet appear and launch an attack against the fleet stationed there. For the Empires credit they had seemed ready for the invasion but the energies of the Arc Surge served to bolster the strength of the lesser numbered Ahkam fleet. In the Refuge system your Legionnaires continued to assist the locals in clearing out lingering pockets of undead on Scatters and rebuilding as locals began to return from Hearth. Armada ships dominated the orbits of the systems planets but there others that had been arriving and departing regularly. Treeships dared not descend to the surfaces, instead allowing Coffins to distribute the tonnes of food and medicine to the people of Refuge while non-military Confederate cargo ships transported in their own relief supplies.Speaking with some of the civilians that came down with the supplies to Hearth revealed the relief fleets were nearly all volunteers and the majority of the supplies were donated by citizens themselves. Among the supplies your Legionnaires spotted packages of Dropkelp sent from Veraga Prime through one of the Wraithborn Cartel's shell companies that purchased large amounts of the crop.As you finished looking over the daily reports you receive notice that the sub-space communications hub had just gotten a transmission from the Confederate High Command requesting a conversation. The message had been a formal text only file with no mention of who within the Confederation wished to speak with you. There was much to be done and tend to. >>1609946A Coffin gently lands on a platform of one of Iti'a'Ropku's tall buildings, it's ramp extending to allow a handful of Stonestar and Obsidianborn constructs to emerge. They were greeted by a Harbinger and Necromancer Jor, both bowing as the visitors approached. The Stonestar dip their bodies to the ground in a return gesture, their armors a finely crafted mix of Cauldron forged chitin and polished obsidian carved in runes of both the Wormtongue and their native language. The Obsidianborn resembled roughly hewn chunks of their namesakes somehow suspended by spindly limbs of carved stone that do not actually come in contact with their core."Welcome to Iti'a'Ropku, my friends. The City of All Souls is always open to the people of the Lavafather," the Harbinger says with your voice, motioning to the city below as the sun rose in the sky sending brilliant displays of light across it as it struck the crystalline forms of Dirges and Requiems standing like grotesques along the roof-tops.There was a faint scraping, a whisper, from one of the Stonestar in the back, "Even to heretics and traitors," it says, likely to itself. You were not going to say anything of it when Jor spoke up instead, "Iti'a'Ropku took the heretics and traitors from your home, gave them new purpose and reforged them. Many have given their lives fighting alongside us, earning our respect," he says defensively and you sense his annoyed anger. The Harbinger gently lays a hand on Jors shoulder as the Stonestar gave their own glares and clicked admonishments against the brash, younger warrior then look back to the Harbinger as you speak, "All who gather here are allies and friends, let us remember this. Past sins are not forgotten, but here in Iti'a'Ropku everyone can strive for forgiveness," you say, Jor and the Stonestar motioning in agreement.Looking to the Stonestar the Harbinger clasps its hands behind its back once more, "You wished to speak with me, chieftain? I saw footage of your bravery in battle alongside Muics ships against the Ahkam, an envious battle indeed."The chieftain clicks with appreciation, bowing once more, "Thank you, Lord Jadyk. It is always an honor to fight alongside the Punishers or the Reconstructed. My ship has joined them many times on their raids against the Deceiver Serpents. I come now to ask if you know of Champion Muic's fate. Muic and Agona have become very popular among our kind, tales of their feats told across Bastion.">cont

She says they have been an immense aid in their temporary detour," the Harbinger says with your voice. The Stonestar create a slow scrape of relief, the chieftain clicking, "Very good. Been thinking of weapon combos Void arc lance cannonBy linking 4 arc lances with a void lance the weapon fires in two stages to prevent a, catastrophic error. First phase the void lance fires to create a collosal gravity anomaly dragging ships into its centre crushing or warping them as they are pulled in, phase two the arc lances fire feeding on the ambient void energy while bouncing lightning damage amongst the now closely crowded shipsDrag them in and then hit energy with chain lightning Another combo is a necrotic solar cannon A beam of pure necrotic energy strikes the target area weakening armour and diffusing the location heavily with necrotic energyPhase two a supercharge is fires and detonated at the same location incinerating and feeding on the now uncritically infused targets allowing it to more easily incinerate the targets Open to other suggestions but the main idea is find complimentary combos of existing tech to mix and match without needing dangerous research first (that can come later we just need to hope the red planet will still have room amongst all the craters )
>>1610152"How has progress on your colony in the Drakon system been coming along?" you question through the Harbinger, "Any interesting discoveries about Caldera?"It was one of the Obsidianborn that "spoke", stepping forward to communicate with a crystalline chiming sound with the same code language as the Stonestar, "Progress proceeds quickly. While it has much to be done to make it safe for large-scale habitation by the stonestar the conditions are perfect for the creation of us Obsidianborn. This one was recently created from Caldera's magma in fact," it says with what you realize is pride before continuing, "The planet is rich with ore and heat. There is much we are still exploring and should anything interesting be discovered the Think Tanks will be the first we contact."The chieftain bobs their body slightly, "Once Caldera is safe for habitation I am sure the Lavafather will welcome the people of the Armada to visit," they hesitate a moment, several of their eyes glancing at the Obsidianborn in silence before they speak once more, their clacking code slightly hesitant, "Perhaps...even those that have found new purpose in your service."Jor frowned but you speak before he could, "You speak of the heretics," you say from the Harbinger and the young brash Stonestar seems to flinch somewhat, "Those I took in after their exile from Bastion are devoted servants of myself and the Wormstar. Their punishment was exile, to never see Bastion again. They are dutifully serving their punishment and striving for their chance at redemption. Even now the first generation born here strive to atone for the sins of their parents, eagerly fighting in my name. They hear the tales of their ancestral homeland and feel a longing they cannot explain."The Obsidianborn chimes in once more, "The Lavafather hears these words and agrees with your sentiment, Lord Jadyk. Their banishment still holds...but in time they may visit Caldera. The Lavafather says it should be a place where anyone who serves him or the Armada can visit in peace."The Harbinger bows its head, Jor mimicking the motion as you speak, "A fine compromise. The Lavafather is merciful," you say, the stonestar clacking out a prayer of similar wording, the empathic sensors within the Harbinger detecting their awe at the knowledge that the Lavafather deigned to listen in on them while the younger stonestar felt a spike of shame.>cont

He was silent for a few moments then looked to the Harbinger as it drifted up next to him, "I apologize for my outburst. Fighting alongside them and getting to know the stonestar, I guess I got a little defensive," he says with a bow of his head then looked back out to the tower, "I think I'm going to take the rest of the day off, use the opportunity to conduct a ritual or two I've been putting off."Was there anything you wish to speak to Jor about before he retires for the day?>Write-in

Do not feel afraid to become angered in defense of those you care for," you say and he looks to the Harbinger, "They are worthy of defense. It is through your aid that the stonestar exiles have become such loyal devotees of my teachings."Nodding he nudges a small pebble of chipped chitin off the edge, "Red-Leaf-Strains greatly helped with that as well. Should you ever establish a Wormstar Church you should make her the head of it with Klikli," he looks back to the Harbinger, "I know you don't exactly like to be called a god, but that is what they and many others have begun to view you as one. The young stonestar speak your name with the same reverence as the Wormstar."You bow the head of the Harbinger, "It is a good start," you say, looking out to the city as well. The Harbinger lifts up a slender arm and a gargoyle swoops down to perch on it, its large eye swaying as it looked between the Reconstructed and Jor before hopping along the arm to coil itself lazily around its shoulders, "Has the rogue Necromancer awakened from his coma?"Jor shakes his head as he reached out, rubbing the gargoyle under its eye making it let out a soft trilling noise as it leans into it, "Not yet but likely soon. Klikli has been keeping watch, going so far as to have his replacement limb attached in the same chamber. I would like to stick a Control Worm in him before he awakens but that is your decision, Lord Jadyk. Honestly I would toss him into a Cauldron, get yourself a new Illuminator or General," he says with a shrug."That is always an option," you say simply, not yet decided what to do with the Necromancer Graim just yet. Instead the Harbinger nods to Jor as it idly lets the gargoyls tail curl around its hand, "Have you had any visions or dreams lately?"Shrugging the human turns on his heel, "Part of why I wanted to come back to Iti'a'Ropku. I haven't slept in days but I am not tired as long as I keep my energy up," he says and looks to his flesh and blood hand where a static of Necrotic energy crackles for a brief moment, "I can only sleep when I'm home here. Maybe I'll see something but my last dreams were those visions of green scales, eyes and diseased flesh that I shared with the Sunscale clones," he rolls his eyes in exasperation, "Valresko has pestered me every day about them.">cont

Your dreams have been a potent tool, Jor, a sign from the Wormstar itself I believe," the Harbinger says with your voice, patting the human on the shoulder once more, "Give our regards to the Caretaker when you conduct your ritual."Jor chuckles, the empathic sensors detecting a hint of malice in him as the thought of the Caretaker but he nods then gives a bow, "Of course, Lord Jadyk. I am glad to be of assistance," he says before departing for the Necromancers tower to begin the weapon boding ritual to forge himself a powerful tool from the Caretakers bones. The Harbinger remained on the platform even after your mind hand moved to other matters, standing still as the gargoyle was joined by two others who gladly perched on the tall Reconstructed. They stood there, all four keeping watch over the citizens of Iti'a'Ropku.

>>1610704In a chamber deep under Iti'a'Ropku where the only living creatures dared tread were Necromancers was a med-pod, the rogue Necromancer contained within. They had recovered from their injuries but they remained unaware and unresponsive as they floated in the med-gel, a breathing mask latched onto their face. A pair of Necrotic attuned Dirges stood on either side of the pod, unmoving as they stood guard.Necromancer Klikli tested out his newly cloned limb, cartwheeling and flipping in the far end of the chamber. He stopped his exercise when he sensed movement near the pod, his eye focusing on it only to relax and resume his routine when he spotted the disturbance.Within the pod a Control Worm wriggles its way into the incision that it sliced in the necromancers stomach. Blood discolors the gel momentarily until the wound was quickly pressed shut by an armature within the pod to allow it to heal. The symbiot worked its way carefully between the organs, secreting med-gel through its pores as it sought out the spine then buried its mandibles into the cartilage between the vertebrae making the human lurch suddenly then relax.

>>1610879The surface of Horizon's Drops moon was a busy place with numerous shipyards constructing the fleets of the Armada's conquest. Yet spaced across the moon were several domes of refracted energy, shielding the the artificial atmosphere within from the cosmic radiation. The biodomes protected small pockets of transplanted flora from its parent planet, grasses and small trees and shrubs drinking in the starlight as small arthropods buzzed between them.Vle'Karak had decided to remain in one of these biodomes, enjoying the sight of the stars and the cold water of the pond he lounged in. He had told you he would think about your proposal of his official renouncement of the Dynasties and you hoped that was what he wished to speak of.Deep under the surface, far from the Arc and Void temples, Valresko prepared the Cauldron within his simple shrine to the Solar. The chamber lacked the decorations of the other Temples, a simple spherical room with walls turned to polished glass from the Dominators flames to reflect the sun and starlight funneled into the chamber. In a nearby corridor the kosda scientist was kept in sedated silence, the Reconstructed General finding their shouts annoying as he prepared the ritual. What shall you do first on the moon?>Assist Valresko with the creation of the Solar Disciple>Meet with Vle'Karak and Eiton

Arc light crackles along his scales as he concentrates, pulsing along his sinuous form until there was a clap of thunder and the massive serpent blinks forward several meters. The serpent twisted around, excitement plain on his face even without the empathic sensors as he looked to the Predator, "I'll be damned," he says with a clicking laugh."Impressive, Vle'Karak," you say, emerging from the passage that lead underground.Eiton turns and bows with a salute as Vle'Karak bows his head as well, "Thank you, Jadyk," he glances to Eiton then chuckles, "Eiton caught me as I was attempting to blink myself and making a fool of myself at the same time," he shook his head then looked to you, "A decent teacher," he says.Eiton rolled his single eye with a shrug, "I have a lot of practice teaching the Arcdancers.""A curious name for the Arc blessed. Although it is similar to the Empire Voidsingers, I suppose," the serpent says as he coils himself comfortably, Vle'Karak towering over both undead, "Either way, thank you for coming, Jadyk. To publicly renounce my family and the Dynasties, to become the first Ahkam in our history to publicly and loudly turn traitor," he shifts and you see the wounds around his throat from the collars were healing quickly, "It is a very difficult decision, Lord Jadyk. It would be simpler for me if I were to become an undead Immortal with a new name, claiming I'm one of my slain nephews or sons. That would deny you a very powerful weapon though."I can sense my niece Quantac'Vrix approaching. She will be here very soon, within a solar day or two at most. Others residing fully within the Arc," his voice had gone low in volume as he shared this knowledge, "Events are in motion, Lord Jadyk, events I cannot predict and believe your Armada may be the best protection against them."Eiton turns to you and gave a slow nod, "After our last conversation I did take some time to meditate on the Arc. I do not have the precision he has but I did sense other entities through the Arc," he places a hand against the armor of his chest for a moment, his eye turned to the grass at his feet before he spoke, "I can feel Quantac'Vrix though," he turns his eye to you, "I can feel her fury."Clacking your teeth together you nod, "Her fury will not be enough," you bow to Vle'Karak, "Thank you for this warning and all that you are about to do for my Armada."After excusing yourself and departing for the tunnels alongside Eiton Vle'Karak resumes practicing the Arc Blink, teleporting several more meters with a clap of thunder.Within the passages you are greeted by the Arc Disciples, the former osjiic standing alongside the newly Reconstructed esat. >>1611512A hurricane raged across the coast, turning the seas dark and violent as the waves threw themselves against the shore. Lightning flashed violently, alternating from the natural cold blue to the sickly green of Necrotic corruption, bolts leaving masses of fulgurite in the sandy beaches.Yet hidden under the waves and within their hidden fortress the Wayward Disciple paid little mind to the storm raging above beyond the complaints of Pilots forced to contend with the weather. They were seated at their command table, alone for the moment as their living recruits slumbered or tended to their own tasks. Holographic displays appeared before them as they flicked through the screen and read reports from their scouts and spies. In the aftermath of the arson and the discovery of the jailbreak the once isolated city was quickly bustling with Council warbarges floating overhead. The Disciple felt a momentary pang of regret at the reports from gargoyles left behind of soldiers using the event as an excuse to take advantage of the locals by stealing and cruelly rationing food even further in addition to rounding up suspected dissidents. Among those freed there were the typical anarchists, a suspected arsonist, good samaritans who tried to take food from the crops to feed their families and friends, but there were a handful that the Disciple found to be worth the trouble.A cell of revolutionaries had been captured and were due transport to the floating city of the Council but the soldiers did not know the importance of one of their number. A Control Worm had pried the knowledge from them, revealing that the vorh woman who sported slave tattoos was one of the founding members of their underground resistance. The Disciple knew they would be able to use them to their advantage, either converting them to their cause willingly or forcing them to be an unwilling pawn for their machinations.Another report showed the aftermath of defending the whereabouts of the hidden village from the Councils forces. Due to the diligence of the Reconstructed not a single soldier escaped the frozen forests. Your spying gargoyles in the fort the army had originated from reporting that search parties were being formed with messages sent along requesting aerial searchcraft to the larger cities. The hidden village was a flurry of activity as they began to debate among themselves about what to do, many believing they were doomed after the brief encounter with the Council soldiers while others spoke in confusion after witnessing the Reconstructed defending them. There was much to be done and tend to on Calera and the Wayward Disciple finds a sense of contentment as they strive to topple the Council and steal the Wormstar fragment from them.

Separated far from the Void and Arc Temples you could feel the Solar flame at your core flare faintly as you proceed. The passages were nondescript and as featureless as the plain tunnels underneath much of the surface, only sporting supports formed of sculpted bone and metal. You come to a halt outside a sealed door marked with only a distorted form of the Sunscales holy sigil and it slides open at your approach. In the antechamber you give a brief nod to the Trolls who salute you as they stand on either side of a frightened looking kosda wearing an environsuit. You shall feel no pain and you will return as something much greater," he says in as reassuring a voice before his Kyn'tk sheathed hand shreds the plastic dome of her bubblehelm and he shoves her into the Cauldron with the other before she could even attempt to scream in the airless chamber.Disappearing under the churning surface Valresko kneels at the edge once more, plunging his hands into the liquid and bowing his head. >>1617112The triple stars of the Throne system burned with a righteous fury, flooding the system with powerful solar winds. Coffins in orbit over the moon struggled to peer through the radiation that made their sensors recoil, the Think Tanks similarly annoyed at how the stars somehow impeded their psionic connection with Jadyk and the Deep Rot. They watched for the recovery fleet due there any hour, eager to return to a friendly port after their exposure to the harsh system.Yet it wasn't the fleet they detected with their weakened grav-sensors suddenly, a small blip of some kind of strikecraft appearing on their scopes startlingly close. The Pilots send out their alarms as the vessels turn in hopes of obtaining a visual on the craft as it accelerated rapidly toward them.In the shadow of the crashed battleship Muics camp the Reconstructed and Obsidianborn were shocked into action by the alert announced from the demi-Think Tanks floating among them. Stonestar emerged from within the broken hull of the starship to look around in concern as the shouts of the captive soldiers imprisoned within called out as they noticed the commotion as well. The Ahkam prisoner lifts her head up as they were awakened from their fitful slumber and shoots a look to Muic who stood nearby with eyeless gaze turned toward the night sky.The serpent hisses and Muic glances at her, "Has your Armada come to rescue you?" it asks derisively.Muic shook her head, "No," she says simply and turns her attention to the demi-Think Tank that approached her and projected the data from the Coffins far above. The Coffin Pilots showed confusion as their grav-sensors, weakened as they were, showed the gravitic shadow of the vessel to be little more than a dropship or shuttle in mass. Yet they finally gained a visual image, it showed the vessel was roughly the size of a corvette made from an unknown material. Because of its deceptive gravity well and the heavy solar winds the vessel had drawn up closer than Muic would have liked. Think Tanks search their knowledge for anything resembling the starship and they come up with no answers although without linking to the Deep Rot and its well of stolen memories they were uncertain of its true mystery. The Punisher didn't even have time to order the Coffins on their next moves when the vessel suddenly opened fire, sending bolts of distorted light streaking across the upper atmosphere of the moon. The bolts struck two of the Coffins and erupt into balls of billowing flame and explosive energy. The third managed to avoid the attack only for a thin beam of light to leap out across the impossible distance, slicing into the Coffins hull and sending it plummeting to the moons surface.Muic turns her gaze skywards, watching the explosions and the ball of flame crossing toward the horizon. She turns to the Ahkam as she hears it chuckling darkly, "Seems we are to find out why starships disappear in Throne, eh?" she asks letting out a bitter laugh

>>1617312The unknown starship was easily seen as it descended into the atmosphere, its hull glowing bright with the heat of reentry. It moved at a reckless speed leaving a trail of flame in its wake as it arced toward the downed battleship. Its approach left little time for Muic to prepare for its arrival but she shouts out her commands to the Reconstructed and Obsidianborn. It almost seemed like the craft would smash into the beach as well but several hundred feet above the beaches it decelerated at a speed that would kill most living creatures and cause intense structural damage to a regular vessel. There was a shockwave of displaced air that bursts out from it whipping up the sand and seaspray as it hovered over the downed battleship. It's engines made little sound beyond a high-pitched whirring beyond the hearing range of most creatures. Beams of light glittered off the airborne sand as they swept across the battleships hull and dunes that pushed up against the sides. One of the beams passed over a large dune up against the side of the ship before jerking and locking onto the dune as a clanging sound of alert rang out from the vessel. From its underbelly there was a rumble of thunder as a bolt of compressed light was launched, its strangely heatless detonation against the sand blasting away the dune with a concussive force. Muic swore as the dune she had dragged over the Ahkam prisoner was blown away to reveal the serpent shake its head as it lifts up out of the sand. Coughing and shaking its chains the serpent flicked its tongue out rapidly to clear it of the sand only to gaze skyward at the strange vessel above. One of the scanning beams passes across the exposed crater and strikes the Ahkam, the pale beam shifting to a bright orange for a moment before it disappears. There was another beam then, broad and flat, that projected from another section of the starships underbelly to strike the nearby sand with a flash of light. The beam cut out shortly but standing in the smoking crater of glass were four clearly robotic entities.Vaguely humanoid with a hunchbacked stance they had a large torso of shifting plates, their limbs not even physically connected to similar to some Obsidianborn constructs. They approached the Ahkam, walking on spike-like legs that left only small footprints in their wake as they seemed to glide over the sand without any obvious weaponry. Standing at two and a half meters their backs rose up higher than their skulls, giving them a hunched posture.>cont
>>1617680The serpent recoils at their approach, hissing in distaste and glancing around the beach it found itself alone with these strange robots, "Automatons! Free me and whoever you serve will be greatly rewarded!"One of the entities approached as the others turned their heads to look over the beach. The entity lifts a hand and it folds over itself, reforming until a beam of light flashes out and passes over the Ahkam as the robotic creature made several shrill chirps that made the serpent flinch. The beam ceases and the entity speaks with a synthetic voice in the common trade language, "Target identified: Ahkam female. Modified organism with Arc capabilities."Scoffing the serpent nods making the chains hooked to her hood rattle, "Of course I am! You must know we are powerful and can grant untold riches if you free me! You must hurry!"It's hand reforms into its seemingly default state, "Records Clarification: Elemental entity, presents as a false deity to control physically and elementally weaker races," it states only to continue over the sputtering Ahkams protests, "Statement: The presence of sub-light vessels constructed of necrobiological materials suggests conflict with undead as cause of arrival. Query: Location of Necrotic entities."The Ahkam lets out a bitter laugh then snarls out, "They are under your feet, automaton."Roll me 3d100 best of first 3 please>>1617384You fucker, did you hack my computers notes?

Oh man lol
Every quest I've been following lately has been getting absolutely SHIT ON by critfails.

>>1617681Many things happen abruptly at the same time. First the sands under the feet of the robotic entities burst upwards around them as the Reconstructed and Obsidianborn hidden underneath leap upwards. Simultaneously the robots limbs bend and reform at angles that should be impossible reshaping into what were clearly weaponry as the next instant they unleash rapid-fire bursts of condensed hardlight or searing beams of blue light.A Troll leaps up from the sand with its shield in front as it charged the closest of the robotic creatures with its cleaver but a burst of weaponsfire from its forearm strikes its shield and seem to burrow into the bone before a delayed detonation shatters the shield. Bellowing defiantly as its forearm was shattered with the shield it swings its thermal vibroblade only for the entities arm to shift once more into a serrated blade in the flash of a moment to catch the cleaver and deflect it. Another burst of blasterfire from its other forearm and the Trolls skull bursts in a cloud of pulverized bone.An Obsidianborn warrior, a squat four-limbed mound of stone, gathers the sand around it, funneling it into gaps in its form before it was expelled at violent speeds as a stream of molten glass that strikes one of the robots. The molten liquid slices like a pressurized cutter while also splashing against its form, making it let out a synthetic shout of surprise as its armor was carved into by the unorthodox attack. The Reconstructed and Obsidianborn attempted to overwhelm the four robotic figures with their numbers but they moved rapidly filling the air with flashing bolts of blue light that detonate with explosive force or cutting with thin beams of hard-light that pierce through Reconstructed bone with ease. Thermal vibroblades slashed and chopped at their strange armor of glanced off hard-light plating as the undead, many newly created on location, surged around them only to be brought low by the robotic fighters in ever expanding piles of undead corpses. They had back up closer with their backs to each other as they dealt with the onslaught only for one to let out a loud chirp of alarm as they were suddenly pulled down into the sand up to their waist. The ground began to glow with a sudden heat moments before there was an eruption of molten sand melted down to glowing glass with Muic at its core. She reached down with a large hand glowing with heat and wrapped it around its skull squeezing as she heard a crunch as her other hand plunges a blade formed from her own metallic blood into its core, the robot twitching then falling still.>cont
>>1617945With a heave she threw the disabled robot at another while throwing her hand at another then yanking it forward with a telekinetic throw. It flies into a two-handed swing of her molten sword sending two section flying and its limbs scattering as whatever force that held them close fails. Snarling as blaster bolts burst against her heavy armor she turns as the remaining robot opens fire on her as the other disentangles itself quickly and rises to join in attacking her. A wall of melted sand rears up before her and the bolts strike it sending splatters of orange-hot glass scattering while they closed in on her.As she fought the Ahkam hadn't stayed silent or calm. She bucked and tugged at her chains even as they reopened new wounds, the serpent snarling in a blind rage as she resisted the seizure inducing pain of the Domination Collar around her neck. There was a stray beam from one of the robotics as they were tossed back by a solid punch from Muic that left half its face caved in that cut across the Ahkam cutting deep. She screams from the attack, not even realizing that the beam had sliced through several of her chains until she noticed her thrashing was less constrained. With a mighty shout she reaches out suddenly to the Arc Surge and her body began to pulse and crackle with Arclight. The Glutton Spheres set into her collar pop and shatter one by one as they were overloaded, rendering the device useless as the metal began to melt from the overload of Arc energy. Bolts of it leap off her scales, striking everything around her from the battleship to the sand to the churning masses of Reconstructed. Arc attuned Dirges attempted to sedate her, their telekinetic blows flinging her from side to side but she rears back then spat out spray of crackling lightning that strikes the Dirges over and over until they too begin crack and shatter from her attacks. Chains snap as they began to glow from the heat and energy coursing through them from her body, her great bladed tail obliterating two Dirges leaving piles of broken crystal and bone in their place. The two remaining robotics hesitate in their conflict with Muic even as their nanotoothed saws cut into her armor as the Ahkam drew more and more Arc energy into herself. Light began to distort and twist into motes around her as the devastating bolts leap off her in her Arc-drunk rampage. She began to attack at random, spitting bolts of Arc lightning at random to leave glass, smoldering metal, and melting bone in its path. A bolt struck one of the remaining robotics and it shudders as the bolt locks onto it and a moment later it seems to burst into a cloud of shimmering dust.>cont
>>1617950Launching herself forward at the cluster of undead and Obsidianborn around the remaining robotic attacker she sends sand and Reconstructed scattering into the air. Muic leaps back throwing up her hand that crackles with Necrotic energy to block the stray bolts of potent Arc energy, landing several meters away as the serpent continues her blind rampage.Punisher Muic could feel the serpents energy growing wildly out of control, realizing that even the Ahkams body could not contain that raw amount of energy. She sees the lone robotic creature crushed under a swipe of the Ahkam's tail and finally the vessel above reacts. Before Muic could react the strange starship unleashes a barrage of weaponsfire against the battlefield.Thrown back by the shockwave Muic could feel the minds of dozens of Reconstructed and Obsidianborn wink out in only a few moments as the ship levels the landscape. Muic could hear the Ahkam screaming in agony from the attack but as she rose up to her feet on a sand dune a dozen meters away she sees the serpent twisting as bolts of Arc lightning leap wildly off their form. There was a sudden brief moment where the barrage from above ceased and the Arc lightning stopped as well but Muic let out her out shout of dismay as she watches the Ahkam rear up with a final scream. The body of the serpent rips itself apart as they unleash all the energy they had drawn into themselves from the Arc Surge into a single uncontrolled eruption. Muic was thrown back, the world spinning violently around her as a shockwave of pressure and unimaginable heat and pain washed over her. Her last sight was the starship above recoiling from the blast as it seared its hull washing over it as well. Then there was silence and nothingness.

>>1617951Damn son that's intense, you're a great writer man.
Okay, I think I need to call it here for tonight. We'll probably continue some tomorrow.Hope folks had fun, I know I did writing it.I'll be up for a bit longer if folks have questions that aren't too spoiler heavy.Poor Muic
>>1617983Thanks for running grave. Lava surge when
>>1617983Thanks for running Grave
>>1617951Welp, we've got no Ahkam prisoner now. But at the very least we can have all these robotic salvage!Who knows, these might be the Synths the Council's talking about.
>>1617951Ok, new rule Every general must have a bit of there soul on horizons drop to revive them after death
>>1618442Pretty sure deep rot has like CCTV footage of all their memories, we could remake them as they were before death if I'm not mistaken.
>>1618599No we need a past of there soul to make a phylactery like the one that brought us back
Hey these synths, they wouldn't be the ones the lost necromancers are fighting way out where ol' displaced champion is fighting to get a hunk of the Wormstar back, no?
>>1618982They probably are, it's unlikely that there are two anti necrotic robotic factions
>>1618442Better ruleNo more rolling 1's in thread allowed>>1618982I doubt it Synths seemed to be robotic realistic with synthetic muscle and mechanical frames with armour housing plates These guys are more crystal floaty drone theme going on. Like the difference between the two main robots in walee
>>1619289Perhaps the bugs from the old war went trans humanist or what ever the term for that when applied to aliens is. And became a robot like race
>>1617755First black company now daq...i swear to god graves if you pull the same level of that guy bs he pulled ill not only stop reading ill find you and goddamn bury your damn porch with flaming shit bags. Anons if you see a fucking one, stop rolling CORRECTLY for a post. Reset the rolls via a broken unacceptable for the called roll dice roll. Like he asked for 3 so fucking dont link and spam it like a newfag for like 2 post and get thst shit rng out.
>>1617951YOU LET ME FIND YOUR PORCH, SHIT BAGS FOR A YEEEEEEAAAARRRRRR
>>1620744I can not make sense of this post at all.
>>1620765Sorry my frusteration with dice and vindictive dms got the better of me. What I was attemptong to say is that when everyone sees a 1, stop rolling correctly for 1 or 2 post, ie if it calls for 3d100 just roll like 1d100 or a d10 to jostle up the rng chances of bullshit. It works for me more often then it doesnt and the fact that everyone just ran right into without refreshing to see if a 1 had been rolled left me shocked. I like muic as a character and love the concept of the lava father and his powers...to lose muic to a shitty roll on some pissant backwater because a stupid fucking bitch snake cant die properly was more then I could take.
>>1620780That's bullshit, I seen posts with 1s being follow by posts with 100s. There is no trick to it.
>>1620797"Works for me" Take it how you will, but I still feel attempting something is better nothing and getting dicked in the ass over a bullshit roll for something so...crucial. I am really hoping muic survived that encounter, because losing a general when jadyk (us) fucking feels like cheating bs to me. Cheap because had we been there we could have atleast attempted to save them, but like this? What is essentially offscreen? It makes my blood boil, but hey atleast graves actually wrote it out unlike that edgy cunt who writes black company quest.
>>1620800Ugh phone typing. Tldr I hate not being able to influence the situation despite our power and reach. Hate losing someone interesting to a situation we could improve if we hadnt been fucked in the first place by plot.
>>1620802You expect to always win everything and things to always go right? This is the nature of these quests, you WILL roll a 1 and it WILL fuck you no matter what shitty gimmick you try to avoid 1's.
>>1620780You sound like the kind of gambler that as soon as they start winning at one slot machine will move on to the next one.Sorry, but that's not how rng works. We love to gripe about "priming the dice" and the like, but really that stuff is a tradition and doesn't impact actual outcomes.
>>1620817No I expect to be given the choice to act upon all possibilities, something that is not always respected at times for plot sake.>>1620879I honestly prefer to earn through plani g and effort rather then high risk/reward. My horrendous luck is why I thourghly enjoy watching the quest and inputting ideas without rolling these days. Plus knowing my luck id get hella mad, rabt about doing better then rolling like 4 2s or something else stupid and improbable yet humilating. I guess thats why I am so upset loosing a general, because my luck is already shit so seeing others get shit rolls just makes me even more annoyed the universe hates x character so bad...If she dies we are going to purge those bots from the universe atleast.
>>1620946Well medical records say otherwise but your free to your opinion as I am free to my disdain for fewer choices at rhe expense of slower pace.>>1621126Blah just please give us 1 more chance to save her, or atleast the next time a general is on end of character mortal peril please allow use more time to submit write is, also this whole event wouldnt have happened if muic had stayed on her goddamn ship instead of boarding....was that even an option? Like I do not remember voting on her boarding, and to ve frank finding the alien menace via dying drones is far more preferred to losing a general to introduce the next plot hook. Overall your game, still gonna poop on your porch if bu the astronomical chance we meet, but I do hope you atleast give us the chamce to rip their stupid tin can ass aparts...WITHOUT REQUIRING SOME STUPIC GIMMICK. But then agaim I am going to choose to belive your not an asshat who would do that.
>>1621305Muic boarding was one of the best parts, in my opinion. Shit can go wrong, but that's what makes it fun.
>>1621305This has to be a troll, right? On the off chance it is not, Anon, you need to understand that most people don't casually threaten to bury people they disagree with under literal mounds of flaming shit. That is not a normal reaction. Also, the fact that you need to have a medical record to prove you are not clinically retarded speaks volumes about your intelligence and reasoning ability. Finally, your entire post is riddled with pervasive spelling and grammatical errors, with several "sentences" missing words altogether.Anon, you are posting on 4chan, the birthplace of the shitpost. If you have legitimate criticisms and want them to be heard you need to rise above a shouting match or you will be ignored as just another asocial moron. If you want to actually influence someone you need to take the time to create an eloquent and thoughtful argument to actually have a chance of convincing someone to change their mind. Even if you had a point (and you do not) your asinine way of making it will turn everyone against you.
>>1621126WHat if she is slammed down so hard she gets to the core of the planet and becomes like the lava father
>>1621305Is this your first quest? Honestly this is an absurdly autistic reaction to a completely normal occurance. We have like 20 generals and we roll a lot of 1's. Get used to it or start your own quest with these awesome rules you have and see how many people attend. I'd be surprised if you even got a thread out of it let alone nearly a hundred.
Come back, Grave. The drones need you, they look up to you.
>>1630043Works better for HQQ. It's well-known that the drones only look up to Mother.Alpha Centauri was a great game though
