>The IntroHey y'all. If you couldn't tell, this quest will be taking place in the well known DC Comics universe. Here there be gods and monsters, magicians and aliens, and even a clown or two. But bear in mind that due to various time travel related and or multiversal shenanigans, the DC world is ridiculously complex as a whole. So I'll be running a very streamlined version of it. And to be up front about it, it will likely be shaped by my own likes, dislikes, and biases.Oh, and aforementioned shenanigans won't be making an appearance.Mostly.>The RulesI will write up the life of our young hero Morgan Barret, a high school student who has just left his home of 16 years to move to Gotham City, and you will be given prompts to direct him. Some things will require a dice roll to determine success or failure or something else entirely. Write In's are absolutely encouraged but I reserve the right to torpedo anything. The voting period will last 15 minutes after the prompts are given. I will then announce the voting closed and write up the chosen response.>The DiceWe will be using 1d100 ninety percent of the time here. Best of three. We might use something else when applicable. I'll be running with a loose sort of degrees of success/failure thing here so no real DCs.>The Twitterhttps://twitter.com/SleepyQMFollow me here for updates on runtimes and whatnot.>The Archiveshttp://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?tags=SleepyQMHere's the collection of past threads.>The PointLet's have some fun.
>>1575402Your name is Morgan Barret, high school student, and part time vigilante. The vigilante part feels official now that you've had your first negative run in with the cops after you helped them. Hell, it isn't a stretch to say that you may have saved some of their lives tonight. The opposition was heavy, numerous, and packing significant firepower. You know fuckall about guns but it doesn't take a specialist to know that rifles that spit out enough bullets to turn squad cars into swiss cheese are a bit more impressive than service pistols. And the boys in blue will be scratching their heads over this one for a little while. Yeah sure, Batman disappears when you aren't looking at him like some sort 80's slasher movie monster but can he straight up ghost his way through obstacles? He can't right? You're pretty damn sure he can't. That'd be a bummer. And it would infringe on your brand. You gotta have a brand eventually, a name. Nobody has had a chance or the inclination to ask you since you started doing this about a month ago but that may be a blessing in disguise since you'd rather not be put on the spot about it. What if you say something lame like- Poltergeist? Or if you say something that's taken by a hero that already has some fame? You're not a afraid to admit you're a nobody. Not to mention that you live in Batman's city. Ugh, why couldn't you have moved to a place with a hero no one really talks about. Like Green ArrowGuess you shouldn't be worried about that too much anyways, you're not in this to get famous. And besides, you helped people tonight. Even if literally everyone you helped shot at you. Right now you're chillin on top of a much taller building than you usually do. An apartment complex, just soaking in the night air and thumbing your totally-legal-police-scanner app. It seems that bank robbery was resolved by police but a quick look at the instant new app tells you they got away with a great deal of money. Good thing that shit's insured. Though you remember the sounds of gunfire coming from that incident and silently hope that nobody had to die for that money.>Continued
>>1575404The apartment fire was resolved pretty damn quickly apparently. A dark figure (more than likely Batman) was seen taking apartment tenants who were out of the reach of the firemen away from the flames and safely into the hands of firemen and paramedics on scene. Though it seems they went after what appeared to be... a man in a jetpack? You don't even know why you're surprised, honestly. And it seems that whoever broke into Wayne-Tech made a clean break. Which makes you think that they were just that damn good, considering the kind of money Wayne has. They really must have some serious state of the art security and this guy gets away clean? Now that's a professional."-requesting backup, requesting backup." A channel on you app flares to life and the officers whisper low voice concerns you much more than if he were screaming for help. "requesting backup at the Dixon docks. We have two officers down and- oh christ. Just send help, please. I'm keeping my head down in a shipping container but they'll find me. Roman Sionis is here, and they'll find me eventually. They'll fucking find me..."Well, shit.>Let's go. The docks aren't too far. You're really gonna have to haul ass though.>Maybe find something else to do, last time you punched above your weightclass you got knocked out.>Write In?

get to those dry docks to save our bois in blue
>>1575435Assuming he CAN shoot us. What can he even do? Seriously, whenever someone needs to establish themselves or move the plot along they immediately off Black Mask.
>>1575466I actually more meant the cop wouldn't shoot us afterwards. But yeah, unless Black mask has bought himself something that could specifically fuck us up, he's probably not too much of a threat.
>>1575442One thing you've learned about yourself since you started this hero thing is that you definitely aren't one to just sit things out. You aren't too far from those docks, if you haul ass you just might be able to save that cops life. You have no idea how long it'll take for the GCPD to show up. Especially since it seems like an exceptionally busy night tonight. One thing worries you though. You back out of the police scanner app and head to google. A moment later you're looking at the 'face' of Roman Sionis. The picture features the man as he's getting into a very expensive looking ride. He's sporting a equally expensive white suit and from the way he's leering at the camera you wonder if whoever took the picture is still among the living. His entire head is covered by an eerie ebony skull mask. Though it looks beat up and worn, like he's been wearing it a long time.A cursory glance over his public profile helps you to know your enemy. A psychotic organized crime boss, Sionis is known for his brutal methods and apparently, his hate boner for Bruce Wayne. You've got no clue what he's doin by the docks but he might've killed two officers already. You're not just gonna let him walk away tonight if you can help it.Pocketing your phone you prepare yourself for flight and take a running jump off the roof. Floating above Gotham is strange. Like, you know that there probably isn't a soul looking at you but you can't help but feel a little exposed as way sort of snake your way across the night sky. It's still not terribly fast and with how light you are you discovered that if you go to high you get blown around by the winds a bit. You've gotta get a handle on that sooner or later. But with google maps on your side and view from up on high you find your way over to the Dixon docks the cop mentioned without too much issue. You haven't been so close to the ocean in a while, even through your makeshift mask the salty air feels good. Even if you're left breathing heavy by the time you touch down. But from the general quiet around here you can tell you made it here before the cops. So once you gather yourself you get down low and think on your first move while your partial dust cloud keeps you well hidden in the dark.>Go in as quietly as possible. No gunfights to tell you where the action is this time so take it slow.>Get in there fast and find that cop. >>1575563Keeping your crouch down low you move from shadow to shadow underneath the various buildings before you reach the docks themselves. The ocean spray in the air creates a chill but you must be too fucking smooth to notice. You get deeper and deeper without making a sound and soon you notice that some of the only lights on down here are at what appears to be a smallish warehouse. Rounding a corner you freeze when you spot an armed guard yawning and snuffing out a cigarette on the floor with his foot. He's wearing an expensive suit that looks almost cartoonish given how fucking big the guy is, and he's packing what you think is an smg. Slipping back without notice, you consider knocking him out but reconsider when you think of how many armed goons would be on your ass if he happened to get a shot off. No, you'll find out what's going on here and these guys won't see you coming. With your extremely light step you swoop around him and begin to spot more and more guards on your way in. Each one of them qualifies for the for 'suited gorilla' classification, and they are spread out surprisingly thick all over these docks. Eventually you find your way to the large building where from inside you can hear someone barking orders, or just plain yelling. Your not sure which. Whoever it is does not sound pleased one bit. Each entrance is guarded by at least two suited gorillas. You might be able to take them out quietly but it's a gamble. Losing your element of surprise may be damning. But then again, you did see a small window that nobody bothered to secure given that only a child could MAYBE get through a opening that small. If you can break apart completely, just for a moment. You could make it in and no one would be the wiser. But it's kind of a big if.You've kind of been avoiding dispersing completely, it hasn't gone well the few times you tried. But, nothing ventured...>Fuck it. >>1575642Maybe you shouldn't fly blind? Thankfully, you are a modern man. Taking out your smart phone you separate your hand from your arm and levitate it up to the window and begin recording. You let it take in about 30 seconds of footage before you bring it back. You don't wanna be just hangin out here against the wall of this building for any longer than you have to. Your hand reattaches with your phone and you press play.Inside it looks pretty tame so far. Lots of heavy boxes and crates and whatnot. Probably full of all kinds of illegal shit if Mr.Black Mask frequents this place. Then as you you were panning in an attempt to get an eyefull of the whole place you catch the man himself on his way towards the back of the place at a brisk pace. He's yelling and gesturing all over to his goons and they're scrambling about to answer his orders. About what you expected. Until you see flashes of light coming from where Black Mask is headed. Interesting. Then your video ends. Alright. You've got your intel. Now it's time to infiltrate. Letting your dust cloud merge with you again for a moment you close your eyes and focuse, just like you use to before you got used to your powers. You focus on the tingling aura wrapped around your whole being, the sensation is somewhere between a limb falling asleep and putting your tongue on a nine volt battery. And soon you're floating, and soon after that you're numb. But not in a bad way? It's all very foreign but at the same time you feel in control. Willing yourself to move you slip your dust form through the window and straight down to the floor of the inside of the warehouse. You coil and snake your way around some boxes until you reach a dark corner away from anyone. Reformation happens in a snap and once you're whole again you have to take a moment to yourself. It's almost like holding your breath underwater, staying in a form like that. But you got use to the other aspects of your powers so you should master it in time. Or least that's what you tell yourself. That shit isn't exactly fun.>Continue
>>1575698For now you focus on not getting spotted now that you're this far in to the lion's den. Black Mask headed towards the back where the flashes of light continue and you're still near the front where his goons are surprisingly less alert but they're still packing so you're not letting your guard down anytime soon. You'er still considering your next move when you hear gunshots coming from outside. It starts small, just a pop here and there but soon it turns into a full on cacophony of gunfire. The guards in here immediately straighten up and some even run outside to join their forces already in the fight. Someone has arrived out there and you're not sure if it's the GCPD. Damn, things could get hairy if the fighting moves in here so you've gotta do something.>Investigate the back quietly, whatever that light is, it can't be good with someone like Black Mask behind it.>Pull back, if it get's too chaotic in here it could get bad for you.>There are a hell of a lot less guards now, take em out!>Things are only getting crazier here, maybe you should pull out and find that cop.>Write In?

>>1575762For a moment, you're split between going to find that cop that called for help in the first place and checking out whatever Black Mask has got going on in the back of his little warehouse of horrors but eventually, your curiosity wins out. Not that you value satisfying your curiosity over the guys safety but whatever is happening here is seriously making your hairs stand up on end. The closer you get to Sionis and whatever is happening back here the colder you feel, your skin is getting all clammy beneath your mask, and this all just feels- wrong.Waiting for the guards to give you an opening is only serving to make you more nervous as the fighting gets closer with every passing minute. You keep low to the ground as always and keep creeping from cover to cover, which thankfully there is a lot of in here. After what feels like far too long you finally reach the very back of this building, through and you don't like what you see. All that's back here is a very large curtain of translucent borders hanging from a metal rack. It forms a big semicircle through against the wall and takes up most of it. The light is somewhat muted coming through the curtains but it shines brightly through the uncovered top above. And now that you're this close you can hear the crackle of electricity and even smell ozone thickly in the air. And... oh god is that- rotting meat? Are those cops back here? Dead?Fuck. You can't afford to lose your lunch over this, not right now. You steel yourself for what you might see than levitate to get a peek over the curtain. It's not good."I don't care what it takes. I've waited long enough!" Sionis practically roars at what appears to be a terrified doctor. The man's white coat is sprayed by blood and darker fluids."B-black Mask- Sir, the voltage is so high it might interfere with this city's power grind. Then we'll have no power at all."Sionis grabs him by his collar and holds him close to his face, You're sure he can see every imperfection of his mask. "You don't need to worry about that. You just do what I tell you to do. You keep doing what I tell you and your family keeps to get waking up in their home all safe and sound. You keep doing what I tell you and me and your little boys never have to meet. Look at me, doc. It should only take one look at my face to know that I am not a patient man."He practically throws the doctor onto the ground he shoves him away so hard, then he just gets on a radio all casual like, as if he didn't just threaten children. Black Mask is in a similar suit to the on he was wearing in that picture you looked up earlier but he's kitted for combat. He's got a vest on and attached he's got plenty of firepower, even what looks like grenades. >Continued
>>1575859But you're not too concerned with Mr.Sionis right now. No, what you're interested in, is the enormous grey cadaver in the center of the semi-circle. It looks ancient. Wrinkles and rot are all over it but it's still almost completely whole. Stitches and wiring are keeping the disgusting thing together, and it's wearing clothes? Never mind the size, with how old this has gotta be the clothes should be dust, along with the corpse. And good lord the smell. You're really glad you partially covered your nostrils with the boxing tape now. You're practically gagging as is. What in the fucking world does Black Mask want with this thing? Whatever the hell it is. Black Mask yells something into his radio before running outside of the curtain. Just before you lower yourself down to consider your next plan of action the building is slightly rocked and you hear a loud but muffled pop come from outside. An explosion? Things are only escalting out there, not getting quiet anytime soon. And when you look back to the hostage doctor he's throwing a big fat lever. It locks down with a big thunk, releasing a huge burst of electricity. The doc has to shield his eyes and step back but with your goggles your eyes are glued to the show. The huge corpse convulses with the energy coursing through it's dead body. Then something happens that you dearly wish hadn't. It opens it's eyes. Then it screams. The goddamned thing screams like a man on fire as it smashes and tears through it's metal restraints like tissue paper. It throws the scraps from the table it used to reside on into the curtain, bringing it down and in your surprise, it drags you down too instead of going through you. Then, because of course it's not done, the thing speaks."Solomon Grundy... born on a monday..." It rips the metal connectors from it's flesh."Christened on Tuesday..." It takes a thunderous step forward towards you, the doctor having the good sense or fear enough to flee as so as it awoke."Married on Wednesday!"Oh christ.>Get. The. Fuck. Granted, you didn't even have a vague idea of what it might be but giant fucking zombie wouldn't on the list if you were to have one. It takes huge strides towards you and with it's considerable height it reach you in two steps. Then the thing raises it's foot to step on you. Luckily you had finally regained your composure enough to ghost your way out from under your plastic prison and sprint through the ware house. You'd worry about the doc but he took off while you weren't looking.Though you can feel the armed goons taking potshots at you, you just don't care seeing as you can also hear the heavy footfalls of the zombie cutting a path straight through all of the warehouse junk to to reach you. On the plus side, you don't have to worry about it smashing anyone into paste while it's preoccupied with you. But of course, having two-tons of undead fun chase you around ain't exactly a day at the beach. And he just doesn't let up. Everything you run through he runs through as well. Fences, walls, small buildings. You only lose him by jumping below a boardwalk and floating beneath it just above the water. For a moment you regret your decision as the boardwalk creeks with the zombies weight but it seems he forgets about you just as soon as he became enraged by you.Now is as good a time as any. Whipping out the communicator you press the bat symbol on the touchscreen once the screen itself blinks to life and wait as the symbol continues to blink. Then a voice comes through. "Morgan?""Robin? Where's your boss?""He's just a little busy right now. What's the problem?""I- don't know what to call it. It's huge and ridiculously strong and... Ugh. I'll just say it. It's a zombie."There's silences for a moment. "A zombie." Robins repeats, deadpan. This is taking too long. "Yes! A goddamned zombie! I watched Black Mask frankenstein this thing to life myself and now it's tearing shit up all over the Dixon docks!""Okay okay! I believe you. Lets see... ah! Yes, there's already reports of a shootout there. Were on a our way. Morgan, just be careful around this whatever-it-is. I've seen my share of weird stuff and if it's anywhere near as strong as you say it is. A lucky hit could prove catastrophic.""Right, don't shake hands with Goliath.""We'll be there soon. Robin out."The bat symbol on the communicator goes dark and you pocket it and float back up to take a peak at how things are going up above. And it's- about what you could expect. The zombie is plowing through every breakable object at the docks and the suited gorillas are just trying to avoid him. But as you sit back and watch the chaos something new enters the field. A tree of all things sprouts up near the streets and grows tall. On top, you spy someone familiar. Hard to forget someone with hair and skin and- fashion sense like that.>End of SessionI'll be around for questions as always.

With shorter sleeves of course, plus I'd prefer midnight blue over bright red, It'd make it easier for a night time hero like morgan to sneak attack and infiltrate and such. Other than that though, the costume is pretty close to what I want.
As you creep about the edge of the docks where concrete meets water you can't help but question you decision making skills. You decided tonight, after fighting well armed assailants in the park, that you hadn't had your fill of vigilante justice for the night and you needed to answer the call of an officer in very clear distress. He was practically begging for help after two other officers were presumably murdered by Roman Sionis. AKA: Black Mask. You flew over here, all full of justice and good intentions. And now you're playing peekaboo with a thousand pound zombie. Where did you go wrong? When did you so something worthy of this sort of karmic asskicking? Shit, it wan't all that long ago that you resolved to do as much good as you could with the power that you were given. And now you're here, stuck between a big firefight between Black Mask's guys, and unknown force, and a huge undead guy. Oh, and now plant lady is back in the mix as well. She showed up just a moment ago, taking the high ground via her very obedient plants. Right now she's simply scanning the battlefield with a absolutely furious look in her eye. Seems like she's looking for someone. And whoever she's looking for is in for a rough night. You swoop out from your position by the water and decide to get a bit closer to the action so you can get a better handle on all of this chaos. You'd rather know who was fighting against Black Mask's guys than get caught by surprise by the GCPD or whoever else. As you slip and slide your way across the battle field you notice man whose been shot, clearly dead. You take it upon yourself to do your best to simply ignore the fact that you're looking at a freshly dead man since he doesn't look like one of Sionis' men.Better dressed. That's for sure. And some kinda... bird pin? On his lapel. Whether if that's part of a uniform or a simple fashion statement you can't say but now that you've seen him and gotten closer to the action you can tell that the unknown force here has to be another faction of criminals. Something Gotham has plenty of. You take another look around form your hidden position and it's still just nothing but fighting. Zombie Man is tearing shit up indiscriminately while the goons are all just doing their level best to avoid him and not get shot. Plant woman is cutting a path for herself towards a certain part of the docks. Hmm.You can't just kick back and wait for Batman and Robin to show. That's why you're here in the first place. To make a difference.>Take on the Mega Zombie, your specialty is not getting touched so you'll be fine, right?>Just round up as many goons as you can, these guys are only making this more chaotic and dangerous.>Go after plant lady, you don't know why she's here but she might lead you to some answers.>Find Black Mask, that asshole woke the fucking dragon and other people are paying the price.>Find that police officer! >>1587293Okay. You know what you can do in the middle of all of this bullshit. You can find the cop that called for help in the first place. He's been holed up in a shipping container all this this time so he should be fine... unless the zombie crushed it already. No. You won't let yourself think like that. You'll find him. And you can do it without anyone else finding you.So you set out into the slowly thinning battle, your half dust form keeps any bullets from wining you and your creeping ability keeps any goons from spotting you as you make your way across the docks over to where shipping containers are kept. It's not far at all from where the fighting and the rampaging monster are so it takes you little time to get there.Once you touch down on solid ground again you break into a sprint, looking for any signs of the officer in distress. Blood on the ground, an open container, anything. Soon you end up deeper into the almost maze like stacks and formation of the multi colored containers. You have no fucking idea how this all stays organized. Maybe they're color coded? They're probably grouped up so they all belong together. You take a moment to catch you breath and sigh. As much as you love to internally ponder the intricacies of overseas shipping you have to admit to yourself that it's a distraction. You break back into a brisk run. A distraction from what may have very well happened. The worst. You check long corridor after corridor of containers and just when you'er thinking your wasting your time, that he moved somewhere else. You see one, that's different from the others. The door is open. Just a crack. Funnily enough it's back closer to the fighting. Hurrying on over you start to pry open the door, only to stop short when you notice the small pool of blood you're stepping in. "No. No it can't-" You harden your elbow and use it as a wedge to smash the door open and your met with the face of an officer, slumped down on the floor of the container with his back to the wall. It's frozen with a look of a strange combination of pain and confusion. His vest lies on the floor near to him, the back has two rounds stuck to it. And he has one in his chest, blood has poured from the wound and onto the floor. He's dead.>"No! This wasn't supposed to happen- I was right there!">"I'm so sorry officer, I should've been here sooner.">"Black Mask... He's not walking away from this scot-free!">Close his eyes and lay him down. >>1587390>"Black Mask... He's not walking away from this scot-free!"
>>1587481You stand, in the doorway of the container. Almost transfixed on the scene in front of you. You were too late. He's gone. Dead. When you finally get it in yourself to move you kneel down next to the officer and just- look at him. He looks young. But not too young. Probably not a rookie. Dirty blonde hair and blue eyes, forever fixed on the opposite wall of the container that became his coffin. His name tags tells you his name was Phillips."Dammit... I'm sorry officer Phillips. I'm so sorry. I should've been here sooner. I should've-"Your words fail you as you slowly remember the fight going on just outside. Then you notice holes in the opposite wall. Bullet holes, gotta be. There's a bunch of holes and the grouping is tight. No stray bullet did this. They found him. And they murdered him. You wouldn't be surprised in the lest if Black Mask himself did the deed. Not with how the profile described him.And now that you've found Phillips, no doubt in your mind lingers that the other two officers are dead too. Shot and killed. You thought Anarky was a nutjob. A very dangerous one to be sure but he's not well. Black Mask, he's a murderer. Plain and simple. Is that somehow worse? Anarky plotted and extorted people. Planned the violent deaths of you don't even know how many. But you didn't get to see his handiwork. You didn't have to see his victims first hand.Damn him. You don't care how many lawyers he's got. He won't get to just saunter off after all he's done tonight. Not if you have anything to say about it. But first.First you lay the officer down, out of his own blood. You lay his head down gently and cross his arms over his chest. Finally, you close his eyes. They don't want to close at first, but your stubbornness wins out in the end and by the time you're done he looks like he's sleeping. Just with a bleeding gunshot wound in his chest. You've gotta get out there and do something. You refuse to let Black Mask get away but there might be somewhere else where your attention is better served.>You should find Black Mask and wrap him up for the cops, early Christmas, so on and so forth>You're still curious about what plant lady came here for. >>1587685You have your target. You don't care how many lawyers he has, at least for tonight, Black Mask is going away. But first you've gotta find the son a bitch. You set back on the path deep into the yard of the docks. Floating past the handfuls of goons still bothering to fight. The shooting has died down considerably and now you're hearing police sirens by the streets. How long have the cops been here? You must've been in your own head for a while there. It doesn't matter. You really doubt Sionis is going down without a fight and if you can keep him from murdering anyone else tonight you can walk away satisfied.Flying over the cooled battlefield you no longer care too much for stealth, you just want Sionis. With a view from the air you spot something pretty interesting right away. The plant lady is leaning against a very large tree that seems to have straight up burst from the concrete, and inside of it, is the zombie. She's trapped him in a wooden prison, thick branches and roots have twisted all around his body. He struggles hard and never stops but it doesn't seem like he's getting out of there any time soon. She's leaning against the tree, clutching one arm at the shoulder, a dark green fluid that you assume is her blood is dripping down her arm. And in front of her is Sionis. He stands with his back to the wall of a small building, in front of him several large branches and vines like the one you saw her use in the park are laying on the ground burning, and he's got red striped grenade in his hand. and a pistol in the other. He doesn't look like he's had the best night. Good."Poison Ivy. You. Fucking houseplant. You think you can do this to me?! ME?!" He points his gun at her and despite her injury she barely flinches. "I'm not even gonna kill ya. I'll just cut off your roots! So you can sit and feel as I burn every goddamned plant in Gotham! You hear me bitch?!""Oh I can hear you perfectly well Roman. I simply don't care." She's got a look of cold fury on her face. "I have already felt your careless destruction of my plants as of late. But no longer. Since it seems were Bat-free tonight. I get to kill you."Little does she know you've got him on speed-dial. You look up at the night sky and wonder how long it'll take for him and Robin to arrive. Aw hell, you know how they operate. They could be here already."You can try! I know you're tired you witch, and I soon as I leave this wall, I'm gonna shove this incendiary down that pretty little mouth of yours!"They're gonna go at it any second now. >>1587883You can do this. And neither of them will see you coming. You ghost back down to the ground and skirt your way around to the back of the building Black Mask was pushed up against. Silently, fly smoothly up the roof and keep your head low so Ivy can't spot you as you peak over at the scene."I know you're worn down Ivy. You would've made your move already if you could! You're all spent after caging Grundy. And you know he's just as liable to break your little neck as he is to attack me."She just fixes him with that same glare. Admitting nothing but remaining silent. He barks out some of the scratchiest laughter you've ever heard. "Now that is rich. Dyin, thanks to ugly over here." He raises his pistol steady at Ivy. "He ain't worth the trouble. Think all burn him with the rest of your magical kingdom when I'm done witcha."Ivy begins to raise a hand but as soon as she does Sionis tenses up. Now!You leap off the roof, keeping a half dust fluid form until you're right on top of Black Mask. He looks over his shoulder when Ivy's eyes dart up in surprise. The last thing he saw must have been you shrouded in the dark grey cloud coming down on him.Actually, the last thing he saw was probably your hardened foot smashing into his mask.Black Mask goes down hard, and the grenade slips from his grip and goes clattering across the ground. For a tense moment, you and Ivy share a look of panic as you wait for it to go off. It never does. Your shoulders slump in relief. Thank goodness. That is absolutely not something you needed. Once the moment has passed you kneel down to Black Mask, who is surprisingly still conscious, and wrap his wrists together with a zip tie. Make it two. And you throw his guns in the ocean. Because fuck him."Hmmm. Hello~." You nearly jump in surprise when Ivy speaks, she crossed the ten or fifteen feet gap between you when you were busy with Black Mask. "I don't believe we've had the pleasure of meeting."Uh oh. "No. I'm... new.""That you are, that you are." She walks circles around you. Inspecting you. There's that inhuman fluidity again. "And no bat symbol to speak of. Not one of his toys are you?" You open your mouth to respond but the air somehow feels... heavy? "I don't suppose you'd let me have little Roman. He's made a real mess of my gardens. Just like the worm he is."How come you're only just noticing how good she smells?>"Listen lady, this guy is going to lock up tonight.">"Leave him with you? >>1588075This feeling on the air. Somethings up. You take a step back from Ivy and increase your dust cloud, dispersing more of your body. This causes you to float just off the ground. Soon after you do, you're breathing easier. If she's putting something in the air, it seems that the more dispersed you are. The less it affects you. But it ain't quite easy to maintain a nearly completely broken apart form. "Just leave him with you? Riiiiiight. WIth a name like Poison Ivy I'm sure you're just a peach."That doesn't deter her. "Oh I can be very sweet. When I get what I want." Though she's seems to be hesitant to get closer what with my cloud rolling off you now."Not today I'm afraid." You float over Sionis. "He's going to jail tonight."She narrows her eyes, and some of the honey drops from her words. "Do you have any idea how many of my children Sionis has murdered in his search for this- this abomination!" She gestures to creature called Solomon Grundy.Children? No. She must mean the plants, she has to. You sigh deeply, the sound coming out as a ghostly moan through your dust. "Not that I don't sympathize. Trust me. I've got zero love for Black Mask."She places her hands on her hips, impatient. "Then hand him over, I promise I'll play nice."You stand your ground. "Sorry lady. I heard your little exchange earlier. And I happen to be intimately aware of that fact that he's killed multiple officers tonight. If Roman Sionis is gonna hang, it'll be legally." Surprisingly, instead of attacking or growing enraged. She pouts. "Oh you're so rigid. You'd fit right in with the Bat you know? It's a pity though." She raises a hand. "You've been a perfect gentleman."Oh come on!Then, with a ping. Something lodges itself into the floor next to Ivy. A batarang. The thing pops open and produces a large volume of smoke very quickly. Not wanting to get caught by Ivy in the smoke you drag Black Mask away in the building he was backed up against. In next 15 seconds you hear the whistling of more batarangs flying through the air and the girlish cry of Poison Ivy. By the time you're back outside the smoke has mostly cleared and Batman stands next to a downed Ivy. Her hands are tied with what looks like a steel cord and there's a strange metal gas mask like thing wrapped around Ivy's lower face. And she is not pleased. She wriggling and screaming through the mask. Probably letting all kind of obscenities fly. Oh well. You drag Black Mask back out from his very temporary hiding spot and plop him in front of Batman. Who spares only a moment to glance at him before going up to Grundy. >Continued
>>1588300Okay, you'll bite. "You don't look very shocked by the, y'know, giant zombie there Batman.""The League has dealt with Solomon Grundy before, and the Justice Society of America before us. He is a rare, but considerable threat." He looks up at you. "You did well not to engage. If your powers failed you it wouldn't have ended well."Hold on, what? "You fought this guy before? How did you beat him before? How come it wasn't on the news or something?"Batman is busy messing with some football sized device he places on the ground. "Superman battled him, he knew it was bound to be destructive so he flew him to an area with no possible bystanders." He taps his gauntlet. "Robin. Status?"Dick's voice comes over. "Penguin's goonies are just about rounded up. The GCPD are handling the rest and uh, Gordon wants a word.""Noted." Batman says simply. He stands back up and affixes the device to the still struggling Grundy's chest and with a hydraulic hiss, a small piston raises up and up and up."What the hell is that?" "My solution." He deadpans.Suddenly, the pistons violently shoots back down and into Grundy's chest. He convulses for all but a moment before going still, that eerie light behind his eyes goes out. "Wow.""It likely wouldn't have been possible if Ivy hadn't restrained him." He takes a look up at the night sky. "We were lucky tonight."This is lucky?Batman throws Ivy over his shoulder casually and regards Black Mask with a hard look. "Grab Sionis, we'll hand him and Isley to the GCPD." Then, without another word he starts to walk.So you follow. Walking back through the docks give you some perspective on tonight. There aren't nearly as many goons killed by one another as you expected. Which, honestly, is a good thing. Three too many people died tonight. Once you reach the veritable wall of squad cars nearly all of the police visibly tense up. But Batman calmly walks up and meets the first two officers with the stones to go first and they take Ivy from him. Now your turn. You go behind Batman and once they see you, your dust rolling off your shoulders and streaming out from under the seems of your makeshift mask some of them put their hands on their guns. Two more officers accept Sionis from you wordlessly. And Batman just turns around to go elsewhere. And you join him. Wow.>Continued

"I won't see a dime until I turn 18.""Oh? We've got trust funds for sidekicks now?" You pause. "No offense man."He waves it off. "Don't worry about it. You're not the Gotham Gazette so I won't hold it against you.""Robin, Morgan. We're not done here." Batman say's while hopping in the now revealed Batmobile at the end of the alley. "Oh, duh." RObin hops in beside Batman. "Shotgun!""C'mon man!, don't rub it in." You find your seat in the back and it closes up with a mechanical hiss. So you're back is glued to your seat as Batman drives like he's late for the birth of his first child- but it doesn't last long. A moment later you're back at the docks and in front of a dead again Grundy. Before you can ask what you're supposed to be doing Batman produced electric saws from the Batmobile's stock of tools and you share a look with Robin. Time to get to work.It takes maybe a half hour to get Grundy free, then another ten to get him laid down flat on the ground. Batman is soon back on his gauntlet's communicator but he's out of earshot this time. So you decide to fill the time by chatting with the Boy Wonder. "Y'know, you should've seen the officers when me and Batman handed over Ivy and Black Mask. It's like they were afraid I was gonna jump up and bite em."He just nods as sagely as he can. "Not too surprising from where I'm standing. Your whole thing here with the wrapped up face and the cloud is a bit creepy Morgan."You throw your hand up. "But isn't that what Batman is all about?" You hold up your hand over you face in the classic Dracula pose. "I am the night!" "Yeah but you have to admit that you're powers add to the whole effect.""Whatever man." Silence passes between the two of you for a moment. "Did he ever actually say that?"A cheeky grin fills his face. "I'll never tell.">Continued
>>1588691A few minutes later and you're looking at something that you're having a hard time believing exists. For some reason. "You have a Batplane?" You ask incredulously.Robin is suitably nonplussed "Yeah. I know. I'm thinking Batwing would be a better fit don't you?""I don't care what you call it. You guys have a Batmobile in aircraft form."The aircraft lowers itself from the sky and large clamps fold out from the underbelly, gripping and Grundy and lifting him into the sky. "Where are you guys taking him?""We. Are taking him to where he belongs. Slaughter Swamp." Batman answers before Robin can, then he returns to the drivers seat of the Batmobile. Signalling to us that it's time to head out. Soon you're back on the road as you fee;l the Batmobile smooth out. At the speed that this goes it shouldn't take long to reach the swamp, as Batman told you that it's actually several miles outside of Gotham. What the hell the Sionis want Grundy for? How'd he know where to find something like this? You let those questions simmer on a low heat while you wait in the passengers seat for your ride to end. After about a half hour your ride gets slower, and bumpier than evens out again. And the passenger door hisses open.Oh it's a swamp alright. Humid, sticky, muddy but also watery. In other words, gross as hell. Batman, who seems to be remote piloting the plane from his gauntlet. Sets, Grundy down gently into the swampy mush. Then after only a few second. The mush rises and lurches, swallowing Grundy in short order. Leaving nothing on the surface."Alright." You raise a hand as if you were in class. "Do I even want to know what just happened?"Robin fields this one. "Long story short? Solomon Grundy was, probably, a normal man when he was alive. There's a dozen stories as to how he died. But in all of them, a man named Cyrus Gold is murdered. And his body is left here, in Slaughter Swamp. A spot that's notorious for being a old dumping ground for Gotham's oldest crime families.""And he rises from the dead to take his revenge?" You hazard a guess. But Robin just shrugs. "No one really knows for sure.""Hmm. Y'know what? I'm just gonna file this one away for now." You lean against the Batmobile, taking in how many more stars you can see now that you're away from GothamRobin joins and nudges you in the side. "So, Poison Ivy, Black Mask, and Grundy eh? Not bad for a second night. You know, you remind me of someone."You nudge him back. "Ah. So you know more than one teenage vigilante who consistently gets in over their head?""Oh, I think you'll find out.">End of SessionOk guys, I'll be around for a while as always. >>1588996well sounds like he's anywhere from 5'11" to 6'1" if he's only a few inches taller than average, since average height is 5'10"
>>1589000I looked up and the data and according to http://www.livestrong.com/article/374611-the-average-weight-height-for-a-16-year-old/>Boys in the fiftieth percentile at age 11 weigh about 73 lbs and stand 61 inches tall; at age 14, they weigh about 110 lbs and stand 5 feet, 5 inches tall. Sixteen-year-olds in the fiftieth percentile stand 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weigh 132 lbs as their growth curves level off.So yeah, what >>1589009>>1589012 say is right.
>>1589014>>1589009>>1589012Then let's just say he's about a flat 6 and when he's in his twenties and stops growing he'll be about 6'4.

>>1589014>weigh 132 lbsWho the fuck isn't feeding their kids? Like goddamn. I weighed that when I was like 12 and was a stick-child and like, 5'7".Hell people my height are supposed to weigh around 150-170 pounds last time I checked. You'd be able to count my ribs if I weighed that little. It makes no sense.
>>1589727That just means you were above the 50th percentile.
You're starting to feel a bit like a cheater. It's been a couple of weeks since you busted Black Mask and by extension, helped bust Poison Ivy. And you guess you helped to slay the Ultra Zombie known as Solomon Grundy. But you didn't do too much to help on that front. Too big and strong, and you'll admit- scary. All you could really do was observe and report like some kinda super mall cop.A super mall cop, with Batman on speed dial. That's what's making you feel like maybe you've got a bit more at your disposal than most vigilantes just starting out. If things get tough you can just give em a ring. Well, Robin has the same thing no doubt. And he seems to be turning out fine. And you're not about to blame yourself for calling in help with Solomon. Fucking. Grundy. The zombie that gave Superman trouble. No, you'd rather not focus, or think about Grundy at all. Nope. Your little world is expanding a bit too fast for your liking. You had a nice long and friendly chat with Dick after the whole situation down at the Dixon docks that ultimately lead to a conversation the League. And one of the League's newest members. Zatarra the magician. Dick claims that all of his magic-ey shit is totally real. Not real in the way that they're not just illusions. Well, they're aren't illusions. But they're the real deal. Like, real magic. He thought it funny. That you know about aliens, and sentient robots, not to mention that you are an incredibly small sample of humanity that developed super powers naturally somehow. And you still find the concept of magic being real disturbing/upsetting.But it's not that magic is real that upsets you. It's the implication. That if magic is truly real. What else is out there? Just on the fringes of humanity's perceptions? You shiver in your school seat. That's probably a topic you'll avoid thinking about for the foreseeable future. Today you're spending your time in class about the same way you always do. Sitting in your seat and with all of your work already done and staring at the ceiling, or out the window, or at your phone every now and again. Not much going on today. Which means tonight would be a good night to head out and do your thing. You noticed that in Gotham, criminals are pretty damn quiet in the daylight hours before shit goes down after the sun sets. It's probably a rhythm Batman is very familiar with.Nowadays though, just for a small change of pace. You've been going over the Gotham Academy pamphlet over and over and over again. The time it's spent in your backpack and in your hands has frayed the edges in short order. You've given this little piece of processed paper quite a bit of attention whenever you could. And Gotham Academy is even more impressive than you even gave it credit for. All kinds of courses from engineering to forensics, funded by the Wayne's pockets so you know they've got all the best shit.>Continued
>>1597905The grounds themselves are a lot like the rest of Gotham, a great big mix of new and old. And Gotham Academy is OLD. Were talkin like, 1800's and shit. They've had Waynes and Kanes and Cobblepots go to this school for multiple generations. This school absolutely doesn't play around. So it begs the question? Are you ready for something like that? It's a goddamn amazing school. And it could be one helluva first step towards whatever career you wanna move towards... But what is that? Mom definitely got in your head with that one. You haven't given enough thought to what you'll do once you're done riding the wave of highschool. One that's been real nice and smooth for you so far.Maybe you shouldn't give that up. Having to worry about actual schoolwork that makes you put in the effort might be a lot to deal with on top of your hero work. And you'd have to take two buses to reach Gotham Academy in the morning. They have a boarding option but there's no way you're letting mom live alone right now. You're not seriously worried about her, but no one should have to be alone after what you both have been through this year. You slump in your seat, balancing a pencil on your nose. Seems you have reasons to go and reasons not to go. You're so deep in your own head the sound of the school bell ringing for the last time today startles you a little and makes you lose your pencil to the dirty floor. With a shrug you abandon it and merge into the crowded sea of teenagers and soon you're outside. When you make it out you're met with a chilling Gotham autumn breeze. The leaves are finally turning color and you've started to see Halloween shops pop up here and there. Which have only managed to turn you away ever since your encounter with Grundy. Ugh.You've still got half a day to yourself. Burning daylight, as dad would say. How should you spend it?>You think you saw Artemis around the corner of the school gate, see what she's up to.>Eh, just head home. You can goof off until the moons out.>Text Dick, he's probably busy. >>1597954Eh screw it, she might be too busy but you've been meaning to hang with Artemis again. But you see her hauling ass out of school almost everyday. kinda like you, honestly. You pick up your pace and make it out of the school gate, just in time to see Artemis' blonde head turn the corner on the sidewalk. You pick up your pace again into a light jog until you're just about to round the corner she did,.And then you're met with an outstretched palm and Artemis' face creased into a hard look that you've seen plenty of times before. It very simply states. 'Fuck off'You throw your hand up before she just hits you. "Whoa whoa! I come in peace, chosen one."Her look evaporates as soon as she sees you. And she relaxes her stance. "Oh god Morgan, I'm sorry. I just heard someone running behind me as soon as I left the school gates so I got... tense."You nod, thinking you already know where this is headed. "Thought I might be someone from the Band of Bitches eh?"She just nods, adjusting the strap of her large sports bag. "They haven't tried anything so blatant since the time when we met but they still haven't stopped giving me the evil eye during practice and I'm honestly just sick of it."Seems everyone could use a distraction sometimes. "Hmm. Wanna find a place to take your mind off of it? I'm thinkin maybe pizza?"She shakes her head, her long ponytail whips about. "Actually, I already have place in mind. I'm a bit of a regular.""Well, shit. Lead the way."Artemis leads you on a little trek through Gotham's alleyways and back streets. While were near the village it doesn't take long at all to reach a nice little bundle of streets that have all kinds of restaurants and food stands. You could absolutely smell it before you reached it. All kinds of salty, savory, and sweet smells are reaching you. And it's considerably hotter here. Must be the result of everyone cooking constantly. You follow the blonde into an apparently nameless asian restaurant. She rattles off something in what you think is rapid-fire chinese to the waitress and you're both left sitting at table in the semi busy place with an incredibly red table cloth. "So uh, menus?"Artemis seems a bit lost in her head. "Oh, don't worry about. You're having what I'm having. Trust me on this one.">Continued
>>1598000"Alrighty then. You must come here all the time if you're that confident in this place." You take out your phone and start thumbing through your police scanner with one earbud in just to check on the crime climate today."Mhm. It's become a bit of a afterschool haven y'know? Not much to look forward to after school but practice and now..." She just sighs.Ok, this isn't helping. "So! How long you been doing that- the archery stuff I mean?"She perks up a little with the semi-new topic. "Just about for as long as I could hold the bow. Plenty of other stuff too but, archery stuck the longest.""Other stuff? What we talkin here? Karate?""Karate, jujitsu, judo, some kung fu, muy thai-"Wow. "I-I was joking. But damn. Really? No wonder you tore those girls apart."She just sips on her free water. "My parents wanted me to be strong you know? Take care of myself." :"Yeah, I feel that. My parents were the same way but there was never a good time for classes you know? Life filled in the rest. I may not know how to disassemble a full grown man with my hands but I can throw some dirt in your eye and catch you in the balls with whatever blunt instrument is lying around. Dad taught me that." You pause. "Life filled in the rest I guess."She chuckles a bit but gets a bright smile on her face when the food shows up. It's... you're not sure what it is but it's fantastic! It's got multiple textures and flavors but they all work together, not against. It's probably the best meal you've had in a restaurant all year. When you clean you're plate, you look up to see Artemis smiling. Satisfied, like she had made it herself. "So, that was bot chien. You like?""Hell yeah I like! Never had anything like it. It's damn near perfect."She folds up her napkin nodding along as you heap on your praises. "I come here when I get homesick... which I guess is getting to be pretty often.">Where's home? Like, family? You seemed like a Gotham native.>This place is the shit, you do realize you've gotta bring me every time you come now?>...So you practice only at school? >>1598030Best not to avoid it. "So like, where's home? I took you for a Gotham native. You missing family or..."Artemis plays with the multiple piercings in her ears while she finds her answer. "Family. I was kinda raised all over. My family moved around quite a bit until several years ago." She takes a moment to sip her water. "I just, haven't gotten to see my mom in a while. She would make dishes like what we just had all the time and the bot chien is still one of my favorites."She kind of slips off into silence after that. Maybe you shouldn't have leaned into that. "Hey hey, I rolled in from Metropolis remember? Sure, I still miss sometimes but that place is in the rearview mirror y'know?" You pause. "Uh, not to say that you should just forget about your mom or anything. I guess what I'm trying to say is- oh shit what am I trying to say."She laughs at that, a genuine laugh. It might be at your expense but it's fine if it pulls her out of that gloom. "No no, it's fine. You mean that I should look forward right?""Couldn't have said it better myself." You really couldn't have. You pull out your earbud when you realize nothing big or noteworthy is going on and stow it in your pocket. "So you do realize you've made a fatal mistake though, right?"Here eyebrow quirks up. "Oh, is that so?""Yes indeed, this place is the shit and now you can't come here without me.""Pfft, if your wallet can handle how often I'm here then sure.""Don't underestimate me Crock, I'll rob a back if it means I get to taste that again."----You and Artemis chat it up about normal boring teenager shit for the rest of your walk until you've gotta part ways to make it home. It feels good, you've nearly forgotten what it's like having friends just to shoot the shit with. Sure Dick has proven to be a real bro but he's is always busy. The guys got a pretty demanding boss after all. Still, you shoot him a text on your way to your chose public transportation. [Yo. Just ate Vietnamese for the first time Not as exciting as the night job but it definitely tastes better.]As soon as you're on the bus, the earbuds come back out and go back in. Nothing out of the ordinary or worth jumping into costume is popping up over it. Muggings, a convenience store robbery, seems like some drug pushers got caught. Looks like the cops are winning today, so that feels good. Not entirely certain if you can call it a win though. The War on Crime never ends, and all that.>Continued
>>1598160Eventually you're back home. Everythings still where it should be. But with how late you are, mom should be here already. A lightning quick burst of panic flows right through you before you check your phone. There it is.[Mom: Hi honey! I'll be in the lab for quite a while tonight so don't wait up okay?]And then it's gone as quick as it came. Okay, she must be working hard up there. S.T.A.R. labs never stops. Oh, and you have another message.[Dick: Ooh! I had some Vietnamese street food last year. The best. Gonna be busy soon, going hunting for a good scarecrow. Halloweens coming up! L8r]Well, they must be busy looking for that Scarecrow guy. The one responsible for that horrific toxin. Understandable. They'd definitely wanna put a lid on that if he's gonna be selling the shit to other supervillains. What bullshit. >>1598237It occurs to you, that while you are in fact a metahuman. You're still human, which means you can still fuck up and be caught out of your depth. So you run to you're room grab your old laptop and plop down back on the living room couch. Time to study! It doesn't take long for you to find a suitable place to do your research. Thank to all the cape nuts out there. There's a goddamn wiki for known heroes and villains. And some inbetweens. You narrow your search terms to Gotham City and there is quite a list. More than you expected and you are fully aware of where you live so you weren't imagining a short list. And of course, Anarky is at the top of the alphabetized list. Piece of shit. The photo is actually so good it's kinda creepy. It's a straight on shot of his golden masked face, the eyes behind them are baby blue but blood shot. You always worry for the safety of whoever feels the need to get photos of supervillains. Anarky is pretty straight forward since you already have the skinny on how he operates. Pure anarchist, but not in the harmony in chaos sort of way. It's more like, if I blow up an orphanage the children who survive will be stronger. Like you said, piece of shit. He's actually real damn good in close combat, his page makes mention of his staff and everything. You may need to reconsider your opinions on the cape nuts. Info this accurate could actually help any normal person that bothers to read it.You hit next and end up looking at the vaguely luchador-esque mask of Bane. Now this guy, everyone's heard of this guy. The guy that claims to have, and you're quoting him. 'Broken the Bat' You didn't put much stock into it when you heard this a while back but now that you've seen Batman close up it really makes you kind of fear what this guy can do. And Batman, what about him if he can come back from that? Guess that's big leagues for ya. His page mentions that he came from complete shit hole island down south called Santa Prisca, is a complete master of hand to hand, and increases his physical capabilities with a very very illegal enhancing drug called Venom. It says citation needed on that point but you'll just assume it's true and move on.Hitting next again, you just burst out laughing. Calculator? Seriously man? You haven't even picked a name yet but goddamn. His page has got nothing on him. Probably because no one gives enough of a shit. Next. Oh come on. Calendar Man. Says he commits different crimes based on the date. Pathologically follows some sort of theme in every one of his schemes. Apparently he's stopped by Batman every single time he acts up. Pfft.>Continued
>>1598463Next. Oh. Wait a moment. The picture on the profile is what catches your eye first. A woman in a black skin tight suit perches on the corner of a roof, she's wearing headgear that gives her the appearance of cat ears and blood red goggles. And her suit is zipped pretty far down the middle of her chest... Did she- did she deliberately pose for this? Catwoman. Prolific cat burglar. Has never been caught by police, pursued by Batman many times. She's also apparently masterful with a whip and her costume is packing steel hard claws. Not to mention her skill in acrobatics and stealth. No wonder Batman can't catch her. Maybe she had something to do with that Wayne-Tech break in a while ago.Hmm. Next. Clayface? How'd he- oh. The picture on this page is a relatively normal looking dude, except for the fact that half his face is sloughing off as if he were made of wax. Or clay. Says he's a true to life shapeshifter. With a malleable body made of some unknown material. There really ain't much beyond that but this guy doesn't seem like the type to give himself away. You really feel like you could've gone a while longer without knowing you've gotta look over your shoulder for a skinwalker. Fuckin next. Oh boy we got another one. Cluemaster. His whole deal is leaving hard to find and connect clues to all of his crimes. Again. He is almost always caught by Batman or detectives. Welp, you're no detective yourself so you aren't gonna complain about Batman fielding this everytime he pops up. Next up is Firefly. The guy's got a bit of a bug themed suit here and he's spraying down a squad car with a flame thrower in the picture. What's more impressive, or terrifying, is that he's hovering via some kinda jetpack at the same time. A very dangerous pyromaniac, he's truly obsessed with fire and watching all kinds of things burn. He's also known to do mercenary work for Gotham crime organizations. And he's also known to buddy it up with someone named Killer Moth pretty often. >Continued
>>1598468While people take Firefly seriously, Killer Moth is another story. IN his first public appearance he got a his ass beat by Batgirl and couldn't even touch her. Tried to act all big and attack Bruce Wayne with an acid gun. Nobody takes this guy seriously. Batgirl, how come you haven't met her yet. You're not exactly an apprentice of the Bat like Robin but you've met them but not her? And then there's Firefly. He sounds like he fits who started that big ass apartment fire a couple weeks back. You scratch your head and peek at the clock. You've been jotting down notes and reading for a little while. You can still get in a workout. You approach the corner where you and mom left dad's heavy ass workout gear but stop. You could work out at home and practice your powers anywhere no ones looking. But maybe you'd benefit from a gym more? Sure, it'd cost you but you'd get to use better equipment. >>1598601You get about five minutes into your search online and you're already fatigued by the slew of choices you get. Everything is always too expensive for a membership or too run down or too far away. You gave the goddamned search engine your location and it thinks fucking Burnside is a good place for you, it's on another fucking island! There's all of the normal choices there too but you're hoping for a place where you can take fighting courses from real professionals. You're not gonna lie to yourself, you were hoping to get a few pointers from Batman. But maybe he'd rather not teach another teenager how to fight crime. You could see why. Maybe he thinks one Robin is enough. Not that you wanted to be Robin2 or Batboy. That absolutely does not have the same ring as Batgirl. Nope.So having someone that not only knows how to fight, but has been in more than a few real fights is ideal. You're just about to give up for the night when you see there at the top of the new page. A spot reserved for those willing to pay for it. Grant's Gym, it reads. The accompanying picture features a big bold sign in midnight blue and black out front. The building itself looks as timeworn as anything else in Gotham so it's been here a while. It's got a four star rating on the app you've been using to scope out businesses. One they work hard to keep apparently. IN the comments and reviews you find almost nothing but polarizing statements. People claiming that they never had such a rewarding workout and that the owner is real credit to the fitness scene. And on the other side. People are saying that they got hurt doing some of the ridiculous routines there, and that they should sue, blah blah blah. Seems it's a love it or hate it situation here.Well, you asked for someone who knew what they were doing. It seems whoever is doling out the workout regimens there is ruthless. It could be that they just suck at their job, and that the positive reviews are people that were strong enough to meet the ridiculous demands and keep up with them. Oh well, might as well check it out since you've got no other worthy hits and just taking a look is no commitment.>Continued
>>1598776One bus ride and a quick text to mom later, you arrive in a older, rougher part of town. You easily slip back into your old habits and throw your hood up as you exit the bus and follow your phones instructions to the gym. The people you pass mostly pay you no mind but you can see that this area is no joke. Everyone's got that posture, that look in their eye. You just mind your business, and so will they.Soon enough, you're in front of the old building itself. It looks even older in person. Damn. Oh well, Shit made in Gotham is real sturdy. You take a short walk in and you're immediately hit with the sour scent of stale sweat. With a pleasant mask of ocean mist febreeze trying to mask it. Least they made an effort. The gym is actually kind of busy, it's jut around the time people are getting off work so that's not unusual. The environment here seems pretty chill. Nobody sizing you up when you walk through the door or nothin. You hike you backpack filled with the necessary gear and take a quick look for a front desk but find nothing. There's usually someone here to accept payment or try and talk you into a membership. But nope. No ones here. Might as well take a closer look then. The place is pretty damn big, there's lot of machines on the ground floor but the main attraction here, is the ring. What you can tell is an obviously ancient boxing ring. The material on the ropes and four corners of the things are cracked. And smell of old leather overpowers even the fresh sweat here.Reaching out, you run your hand along it as you look to the brick walls of the place, tons of vintage fight posters line the walls. This place has got some damn history."Morgan?" It barely registers when you hear your name, so you end up turning slowly to meet the gaze of Artemis. Who's clad in green workout gear and breathing heavily, but grinning despite that. "Come to learn the ropes?">End of session.Hope I was able to make that day of staying in interesting.
