We are Sirena Le Doux and we seek revenge against our former master. So far, we've grown powerful enough to become the Witch Queen, but there is much more to learn. With our list of allies and teachers ever expanding, we won't stop until we've reached the top, because that's where our former master waits.Having gone through the caverns of Bad Luck Mine and accidentally unleashed our ancient moon elf ancestor, we now find ourselves looking towards the future with uncertainty. We must now decide what to do next...Current Spells and Inventory: http://pastebin.com/YnqXjSpmPast Threads: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=evil+sorceressShill Stuff:Twitter: https://twitter.com/DamashiKonquestDiscord: https://discord.gg/HBz5u9vOur story continues!
Of late, many issues have been wearing upon your mind. Your revenge. This moon elf ancestor of yours, who apparently wants to destroy the world. Being hunted by this 'Witch Hunter', whoever and wherever he may be. And then there are all of the other small details that sometimes fall by the wayside...Currently, you are in Aran, dealing with some small matters relating to the cults and helping smoothe over the transition of the new goblins into the realm and its populace. The giant ant queen has been taken to a safe place, a future breeding laboratory overseen currently by your servitors, though it will require an expert in due time once she starts producing young.Things are running smoothly. Your revenants are serving you well, though currently you don't have them doing anything exceptionally difficult or challenging. The important thing is that none of them have tried to betray you or contact the outside world yet, like the dark elf Alicia whom you drained of memory. She served as a good example to the others.Tapping your fingers on your throne's arms, you consider what to do next. Your worldly holdings, namely the tower, and your investments in the local mine and brothel have paid you well. You currently have several other connections and threads to check up on in the tangled web that has become your life.>Resurrect three more revenants>Check in with Faye and her research into getting home>Invest your money on the tower and businesses>Check in with Bruut and see how his raids are going>Attempt to learn more about this ancestor of yours; look up lore>Check in with Francis and see what he has learned about Mordrax>Set plans in motion to expand your influence to more towns than Bridge Town>Attempt to get in contact with your family>Attempt to locate this Witch Hunter before he finds you>Check up with Elder Grey and her husband>Check up on Brutus at Cutter Farm>See if you can find Krom with the diving pool>Other (Write-In suggestion)

>>1566642>>1566705>>1566731>>1566734With a simple teleportation ritual to the rune inscribed within his basement, you proceed upstairs. "Francis!" you call out, announcing your presence. You hear some rattling around and a few things falling over upstairs as he quickly comes down the stairs. He slicks his greasy hair back and gives you a seductive smile. "Sirena.""What have you learned about Mordrax?""Straight to business, then," he sighs. "Not that I can complain, seeing as how your baby factory opens once he's dead.""I'm aware of the current state of my loins, Francis," you reply, slightly annoyed. "Have you learned anything?""Yes, yes, of course." He sits down on one of his chairs near the fireplace and you do the same. "My old contacts at the academy in the capital have told me that Mordrax has become... reclusive of late. Even moreso. Ever since the revealed treachery, I imagine.""You mean his false claim that it was me!" you correct him."You know what I meant. Anyway, were I to speculate, a lot of his plans were ruined when you -- and that is to say HE -- was found out. I also imagine that the royals are trying to be more careful with whom they trust. The problem being, of course, that they already trust Mordrax. He's likely rebuilding his power base and setting things in motion for whenever he springs his plan -- whatever that may be." He clears his throat. "Speaking of which... what WAS your plan to take over the country, anyway?""We were going to rule the kingdom," you explain to him. "Imprison the royal family, or enslave them through whatever means were most convenient to us, and take control of the military and economy in one fell swoop.""A bold plan. One that would need a lot of resources, and Mordrax in his reclusion has been hording a great many things of late. Spell components, exotic and mundane, are being delivered to his tower.""I was already aware of that.""Ah, but I know something else: Mordrax is searching for a new apprentice. And apparently, the grounds for selection is whomever hunts you down and brings you back to the capital first."Your eyes narrow. "Please. As if any pathetic mage fresh out of the academy could harm me. All he's doing is sending them to their doom."Francis puts his hands together and suddenly his face becomes very serious. "Maybe that's what he wants.">I doubt that.>What is that supposed to mean?>Tell me more of what you have learnt.>Change the subject>Other

He sends you out, but gives you the motivation to come back. You become stronger, stronger than you've ever been -- and when you return, you're in the prime position to make his plans come true.""What kind of a fool would make someone who wants to kill him the lynchpin of his plan?""Someone very patient, I'd imagine," Francis says, thinking as he scratches his scruffy chin. "Mordrax is hoarding resources for something, but he's been reclusive. We don't know much about what he's doing, other than he isn't making himself very public and is keeping quiet. What is he waiting for? Maybe it's you. Maybe he's afraid of you, maybe he WANTS you to come after him.">You think he still wants me as an ally?>What would you have me do? "Sure, whatever.""It doesn't truly matter. I'm still going to kill him, no matter what he intends. And when I stand over his corpse, his blood on my hands, I'll allow him a few final moments to choke out his last words before I drown him in his own blood."Francis' brows tick upwards. "Good to know.""Speak with your contacts and learn exactly what is being delivered to his wretched tower. I want a list. Perhaps we can deduce what exactly he is planning.""It'll be difficult, but I'll get on it." He scratches his chin again and stands up. >>1566976>>1567006>>1567040You pause upon hearing the word 'malevolence' and your mind is drawn to your ancestor. "What do you know of the moon elves?""Moon... elves? Uh..." He puts a hand in his mop of hair and scratches his head. "They're all extinct, I think. Ten thousand years? All the moon elves are what the many modern races of elf are descended from. Night elves are the closest thing, what with their lunar mages and such.""There aren't any around?""No. Not that I know.""What about their lore? Do you know anything about history ten thousand years back?""Can't say it's my strong suit, but I do know that men, that is humans, didn't have any magic before the elves came down from the moon and they made war. After the war, when humans won, we learned magic from them. I'm fuzzy on the rest of the details.""Humans won against them without magic?" you ask skeptically."Like I said, fuzzy."You shrug. "Francis, I want to expand my influence to nearby towns. I already have several connections in Bridge Town, including the ear and favor of its mayor. It's high time I expanded."Francis thinks for a moment. "Well, you could go in any direction you like, really. You could start making your way south, towards the capital. Going north you've got the high elves. Southwest you've got the lake men, straight west is the wild elves, and to the southeast you've got dwarves. Northeast is the gnomes, but they're pretty far away. Those are the immediate communities, unless I'm missing something small."You sit back and contemplate this information. You know that you currently have the river pirates and their new leader, Bruut, raiding the fishing villages and river towns to the southwest. He carries your mark, and several times now you've felt him become lightly wounded, likely from battle, but nothing too severe.Where do you want to expand towards?>South, towards the Capital>Southwest, Lake Men>West, Wild Elves>North, High Elves>Northeast, Gnomes>Southeast, Dwarves

He seems strong, lean and handsome, in a rugged elvish manner, if such a thing exists. It is he that leads the women away from pursuit, though one of them is wounded and bleeding. When they stop, they wait for some time. He tends to the wounded woman, who is apparently his lover. The other two, apparently sisters, scout around for any signs of being followed."We should not have tried," the wounded one says to him."There was no choice. Our hand was forced." >>1571107>>1571116>>1571121With the old man's words about changing the outcome on your mind, you begin to stage the arena to give the other factions as little chance as possible. Firstly, you warn the bounty hunters about the oncoming troll, causing them to be unprepared for the barbarians at their rear. In turn, both groups are caught unawares by the lizardlings, who join the fight when they think the barbarians are allied with Krom. The battle is fiercely impressive in its savagery; the greenspawn are not like the wyvern and snake you saw, but rather like lizardfolk. This makes them especially dangerous, as they are more cunning than brutal, able to work together to attack their foes. The battle seems firmly in their favor until the goblins arrive, bullied into working for the troll. Now the battle shifts onto an entirely different spectrum. The troll battles the lizardlings, his original targets, while the goblins serve as fodder to distract the bounty hunters. The barbarians take a moment to recover, and this is when you realize your wild elves must strike. You send an order to their leader to strike, and he and his three female companions finish off the barbarians with a surprise volley of arrows. The wild elves, as they were not caught unawares in this fight thanks to your forewarning, pick their way through the ruins. You marvel at their excellent guerilla tactics, remaining hidden until the right moment comes to slit a throat or paint a target with arrows. As the troll finishes off the last of the lizardlings, the elves spring upon him from above, carrying torches to burn him. The troll cries out in pain as he is unable to defend himself in his weakened and wounded state and thus burnt to death, the only true way to kill a troll. The last of the goblins fall to the wild elf leader's arrows and the battle ends."What a show," you say with a smile, darkly laughing to yourself at the carnage. "Those elves were exceptional. They would make fine scouts or assassins.""Your influence grows in many ways," Elder Grey says with a nod. "Even the smallest of actions can cause the largest of changes...""The barbarians were originally set to win," the diviner says. "The wild elves, originally caught unawares, would have been slaughtered. Then they would have reunited with their leader, the one called Krom and eased his troubled and guilty mind. He believes all his people are dead.""And now they are, or they may as well be," you shrug. "Perhaps I prefer it this way. An angry and guilty Krom is one I can still use...">What next?>Travel north to meet the wild elves in Wineleah>Check in with Bruut and see how his raids are going - collect money/girls>Attempt to learn more about this ancestor of yours; look up lore>Check up on Brutus at Cutter Farm>Other

After all, was it not me who warned you of this coming fray? The barbarians would have slaughtered you otherwise.""Maybe they would have, and maybe they wouldn't have," the man says. "I am Arradon, and this is my wife Mormaraleth. The sisters, my cousins, Jinarra and Torethel.""And why are you on the run?""We were framed for a murder we did not commit," he says. For a moment, you simply stand in silence. New appearances, a new home, whatever you desire. But you must return my favors in service.""What manner of service?" he asks, folding his arms. "We are not used to serving anyone but ourselves."Again, you doubt his word. He looks like a career criminal and mercenary, but he is rather shrewd and picks his words carefully. You note that for future reference. "I have need of scouts, and spies, and assassins. I can pay in money, but I can also offer much greater rewards. Serve me, and I will ensure your enemies not only die, but that you will have the greatest of revenge upon them.""Maybe I have no enemies I seek vengeance upon," he replies. You step forward and smile. "Everyone does."He looks back at his wife and cousins, then back at you. "Very well. For now, we accept, but only if you hold true to your word.""I wouldn't think of anything to the contrary.""So you say..."You step forward and cast your spells to change their appearance, giving them new faces, hair and eyes. Mormaraleth steps up to Arradon and touches his face. "I will need to get used to this..." she whispers."As will I," he says, looking at her new appearance.Stepping back again to admire your work, you think about now where to keep them. >Let them inhabit Wineleah>Take them to Aran>Take them to the tower>Send them to Bridge Town>Send them to Youngwater, ahead of Merriam and Kay>Other

With two votes for love, it's a landslide for Heroism and Charm Monster.>New Spells! Thralldom!Sleep: Casting this spell will cause someone to fall into a sound slumber. It helps if they are already weak, drunk, exhausted or otherwise. They can still be awakened by normal means, but this spell will ensure that the initial moments of their sleep is the strongest. The time it affects someone will vary from person to person, but generally it will last anywhere from ten minutes to two hours. Those of particularly strong will may be able to resist the effects.1 Shadow Point: Dark Slumber: By augmenting this spell, you can widen its normal effects to several people or put one person into an even deeper and more forceful sleep from which they cannot be naturally roused for several hours.Truth: Casting this spell causes a target to become much more open and honest, causing them to be more likely to tell the truth when questioned on matters. Particularly expert liers, incredibly desperate targets and those of strong will may resist it, even more so if they are hostile towards you at the time of casting/questioning.Heroism: Casting this spell will remove fear and caution from a target, causing them to act in ways that they may not due to cowardice, self-preservation and common sense. A man could charge a platoon of soldiers or leap into a raging housefire to save a cat. This spell lasts about ten minutes.Charm Monster: Monsters, unlike animals and people, tend to be very single-minded, but casting this spell will cause them to treat you like a friend. Though particularly powerful monsters or those bred for single purposes may be more resistant, this spell will help avoid a nasty encounter with a dangerous creature. Lasts about ten minutes."Thank you for your business," you say to him, and turn as though to leave."Wait, wait! Only business? No pleasure?" He smiles as he sits and sips red wine (but likely not...) from a glass. "I bid you, Mary, stay for dinner. It will be a feast indeed... And if you do, I'll sweeten our deal."You stop at the door. He's got your interest, at the very least. Turning, you ask, "With what?""You would be dining with a master of the craft, madam. I'll teach you a spell that exists nowhere else, one that augments all thralldom magic.""And just what might that be? Something that makes them more susceptable to becoming thralls? I have my ways for that.""No, not at all... But if you want to learn, stay. You'll be my guest of honor...""I saw what happened at your last dinner, you know."He waves a hand. "Only for your use until dinner is fully prepared," he says with a wide, sharp smile. You enter and he closes the door behind you. You check to ensure that it is not locked; he doesn't seem to be keeping you from leaving. 'I must be careful. You turn around and see two women in the room with you, pale of skin and busty of chest, clad in white, loosely-fitting garments threatening to fall at any moment. Their lips are painted red and their eyes are thick with shadow, dangerously alluring and damningly tempting. You didn't even hear them enter..."We have been sent with a gift from our master," one of them says, holding up a beautiful dress threaded with crimson and gold."We will help you, if you like," the second one adds in a low, inviting tone. You smirk. Their fingers glide across your skin as they pull your hair back, one moving to comb it while the other finishes dropping your dress to the floor. Shameless, they lavish attention upon your body, though never move to bite it -- true to Vincent's word. He is surprisingly forthcoming, given his bloodsucking nature. As they prepare you, intentionally making it as sensuous as possible, you find yourself relaxing (but not too much -- these are vampires after all) and you remark, "Mmm... I could use servants like you.""You may use us however you please," one says, placing a gentle kiss upon your hand. The other brings up the dress but hesitates. "Would my lady enjoy a bath?" she asks."I think I would."Within minutes, they draw your water, hot and steaming, and join you in the stone bath. You stand and allow them to wash you fully with soft rags and sweet-scented soap that seems to dull your senses. You fear you are being drawn into an extremely vulnerable position but you remind yourself that, even in the worst of scenarios, you could escape instantly by teleporting to Faye. And though they are being quite carnal, they never go beyond mere kisses and sensual rubbing. The vampiric thralls wash you now with their bodies, all but throwing themselves upon you. They had gradually been getting bolder and bolder, but now there is no masking their intent. Your cheeks burn not only from the heat of the bath as these beautiful thralls lavish attentions unlike any you have ever felt before, making you feel as though an empress or a goddess. When the bath is concluded, they take you into the bedchamber and dry you before dressing you. Though you feel a craving, you do not make"Our master will be waiting in the dining hall," one of them says as they drift out on soundless feet, leaving you slightly flustered.'I need slaves,' you quickly decide. In the main hall, you find Vincent sitting at the head of the table. I am what all vampires aspire to be, a perfect specimen.""Quite high praise for yourself," you smirk."And I assure you, though I may be cool to the touch, I feel everything... In fact, since I turned, my sensory system has nearly doubled in its sensitivity. Now, every cold morning wind is as fresh as winter, every drop of wine a vineyard, every kiss is like your first..." He trails off and smiles. "But of course, I don't want to make it sound TOO tempting...""I can see why you are so obsessed with sensation, then. But do your senses never dull? Having too much of the same thing renders anyone mad.""True... There are forces within the mind and body that cause us to crave, to yearn and desire more. I know much about desire, and craving... my life is consumed by it. I am made of it.""But surely you must have an endgame," you say, taking a sip. "Why else desire so many thralls? Not just for you. You throw a wink in his direction and he seems suitably pleased, even though you did not specify who the son is. His ego, of course, compels him to place himself in that position."Then let me show you something... enchanting."At that moment, the four girls are brought in. Three of them are in a trance and take their places at the table, but one of them is being forced by two of his thralls. She is awake and fully conscious. "Let me go! I don't want to be here! I want to go home, I want my family! Please, please stop!""I hope you appreciate the effort I am expending in making this little demonstration a possibility for you," Vincent tells you as he looks up at the girl. "Relax, my dear. Sit.""No!"Vincent's eyes blaze red and his voice takes on a sinister edge. "Sit."The girl stops struggling, and she does so. His eyes stop glowing. "Now, what did you just do?""I... I sat down..." she answers, very clearly no longer being controlled. Tears stream down her cheeks."Did you want to?""N-no... I want to go home... I want my mommy and daddy...""Aw, hush now... It'll be alright. Did you sit of your own free will? Answer me now.""No... You made me."He looks over at you and smiles. "See? That's always the problem with thralldom. If the spell is broken, if it wears off, and you made them do something they cannot rationalize as something they wanted to do -- or rather, if you cannot fool them into thinking that what you made them do was what they wanted all along -- then they know you cast a spell upon them. Now, let me demonstrate something else..."Vincent looks back at the girl. "I want you to stand up, my dear." She does so, her movements slow and controlled. "Now, remove your clothing. All of it." Reaching up to her shoulders, she drops it to the floor. At first, you don't notice it, as you are distracted by the girl -- but Vincent's lips are moving as he casts another spell. He ends his control on the girl and then asks, "Now, did you do that of your own free will?""Y-yes..." she says, moving to cover herself with her hands. "I'll d-do anything to g-go home..."Vincent smiles and looks back at you. "What do you think? You see? She doesn't even know I used a spell, even though I commanded her to do this."What?" she says, bewildered. "But I--"
>>1573420He holds up a hand and she stops speaking. "No more words from you, dear." He commands her to sit back down, which she does, though still in the nude. "Now, this little spell I have devised targets specifically the reaction that a mortal has upon realizing they have been enthralled. I call it 'Erasure' for the simple fact that it erases that reaction, and thus the brain, in all its wonderful simplicity and desire for sense, simply fills in the gap with the false knowledge that the only reason the person did what was commanded of them is because they wanted to. In other words... I have perfected thralldom to the point where I can make a man kill his own family and then have him justify the action.""Very impressive," you admit. "The spell you spoke of... this is it? You would give me this?"He brings up the glass of wine and swirls it around in one hand. "Well... not entirely for free."'That spell could be insanely useful... "You aren't planning some manner of blood magic, are you?""On you? Perish the thought. I merely wish to give you a taste of what it is like to be in my world, to feel someone else's life pulse upon your tongue, tickling your senses and lighting them ablaze. Dine with me, and I will give you this spell.""Your intent is that this will awaken some deep, unknown lust within me that will only be sated by more blood?"He smiles. "Perhaps.""How would you have me taste this blood?"He rises from his position at the table, and takes the hand of the naked girl. He walks her over to you with an arm around her shoulders, then turns her to face him. Staring deeply into her eyes, her lips part and all resistance flees from her like a mouse scampering into its hole. Lifting her chin with one hand, he bares his fangs and lowers himself to her neck. She gasps as he bites her, sealing her as his, drinking deeply of her life fluids. You find the sight strangely erotic as she subtly writhes against him, cluthing at his arm and cloak, her heart racing more and more slowly until she is completely subdued. You watch with the fascinating that one watches a spider wrapping up its prey, but on a human scale. When he pulls away, his mouth is stained red and blood pours down her neck, seeping into the valley between her heaving breasts. You pull back and close your eyes, finding yourself relishing the taste.Perhaps it is normal blood, perhaps he has done something to it, it matters little -- the moment is what causes this sweetness upon your lips and tongue to be that much more exquisite. Your mind hazes and you feel your heart beat in your chest, and for a brief moment, you understand what it is to be one of them. But that moment is fleeting, and bleeds away like the girl in his arms. "I have tasked the servitors with collecting all information relevant to what you have described, your highness.""How long do you suspect it will take, Sheldrake?""Not long, but the Library of Lost Tomes is quite large. The seventh Witch Queen was the first and the last to organize the library, and during that time we had a dedicated librarian servant.""I'll keep that in mind for the future. When the books are assembled, send them to my tower. I have another source I can pick the brain of until then."The pale butler bows. "As you command."Stepping back onto the teleportation circle, you are whisked back to Redford Keep where you climb the stairs and enter Alex's room with a polite knock. "Hello, Mary!" he beams up at you. "How are you today?""I find myself curious," you reply, sitting on his bed. "You read much. Have you ever delved deeply into history?""Only the history that comes from knowing the complete works of the First Faith.""And what of the history that pre-dates them?""Oh, there's a section on that. Would you like me to read it to you?""Please, summarize it. But in specific I am trying to learn more about the moon elves."His eyes go wide. "Oooohh! I know about them!""You do? Fantastic! It's refreshing to hear that answer. Please, tell me all you know.""Well, I'm not a full historian... But legend has it that, in the beginning of time, dragons ruled the world. This was an age unlike any mortals can imagine, because the dragons were not as we know them now, but titans of earth, fire, water and more. Their clashing forged the world as we know it and some say, the stars above. It is even rumored that the sun was once a dragon that grew so hot as to forever become a great call of light in the heavens."He walks over to his book and opens it up, flipping through its pages. "It is said that there was a great dragon king who ruled a cosmic empire. But, for reasons we cannot know, that empire was lost and fell, and the many dragons of the world today are but the reflections of that greatness. The dragons were the first to harness magic, but the race that inherited their lost glory were the elves.">Let him continue>Ask about the dragons>Ask about the earliest elves>Ask about the First Faith>Other

It is recorded by some sources that they believed that the moon, being part of the heavens, was closer to the gods, a kind of staging ground upon which the faithful would be reclaimed when the time came. So they migrated to the moon and built wonders upon wonders on its surface, whole cities!"'I've been to the moon, and I can say that it was not very impressive... But let the ancient elves think what they may.' You then ask, "So, these were the moon elves?""Yes. It is said the moon changed them, causing them to turn white. They abhorred the earth and all the creatures upon it, but were not hostile towards it. At least, until the dark elves were born.""Dark elves? Like the ones we have today?""They are close, but no. Dark moon elves. From the caverns underneath the moon's surface and upon its darker side, these elves were ideologically opposed to their brethren. They believed in making war upon the planet below, cleansing it, and only then would their gods accept them into the true afterlife. Nobody knows what truly happened there in this time, only that the two sides fought until a leader rose up and united both halves. It seems she was a dark moon elf, for as soon as she took power, the elves returned to the world below to make war. But what they found was something they had not expected.">Let him continue>Who?>Someone they had left behind?>This made the modem dark elves, though?>Other

>>1575620>>1575622>>1575659"Who?" you briefly ask to allow him to continue. "Man. Lacking in magic, the ancient empire of men relied instead upon some kind of lost technology, building armies of steam-powered automata. It seems unlikely that they could have done this without some kind of magic, so perhaps it was magic, but not as we know it. Since the elves had left the world, man had risen up and made an empire of his own, and so now the empire of the earth clashed with the empire of the moon. This was the first great war between man and elf.""And how did it end?""Badly, for both sides. Both empires were annihilated in this conflict; the elves never again returned to the moon and were scattered across the world, eventually changing into what they are today. And man? Their empire was shattered into several smaller kingdoms and their technology was lost. But now we have magic, so... perhaps it was not so much a loss. But none can deny that the empires of old were of a scale that none today have ever achieved. After a 'thousand-year-darkness' following the war, the world rebuilt itself, with man and elf emerging in their new forms. But there have been three wars between man and elf in history, the last one ending only three-hundred years ago... Thankfully, we have had the First Faith to guide us out of the ignorance we seem to keep finding ourselves trapped in."He closes his book. He dutifully does so, and you place an arm around him. "I'm afraid I haven't been completely honest with you.""What? What do you mean?" he asks in a concerned tone."That book we found deep within Bad Luck Mine, it unleashed something that only I saw. A moon elf.""Truly? What was it like?""She is my ancestor," you tell him, and his eyes go wide. "She recognized it. Unfortunately, she was pure evil... We fought, suspended in time, but her power was much greater than mine. During our battle, she said she wanted to destroy the world, before retreating to the moon. I suspect she is still there now...""This is... dire news," Alex whispers. "What are we going to do?""I honestly do not know."His small hands find yours and he squeezes tightly. "We must have faith! If we work hard and believe in ourselves, we can defeat her if she returns!"You smile down at him and ruffle his hair. "You're optimistic, aren't you?""I just know that we can do anything as long as we stand together. It's just like it's written in the scriptures, unity is the source of all strength. Just as the gods and goddesses of the First Faith are united, so too do people unite against terrible threats. Of course, it doesn't hurt to prepare... So, I'll work extra hard on becoming strong! That way, if she ever comes back, I can give it my all if we try to stop her!""It makes me happy that you believe in us so much," you say, pulling him close for a hug. "Thank you for explaining that history to me. You're such a smart, well-spoken boy. Do you know that?" Lifting up his chin, he blushes as you lean down to gently kiss him. As your lips gently meet his, he shivers slightly and eagerly presses back. "I'd like you to learn more, if you can. Don't fall behind on your other readings or prayers, now. Not long thereafter, the party is assembled around the breakfast table, though noticibly Faye and the three goblins are absent."Can't say I've ever broke bread with an elf and a kobold at the same time," Bargum comments."You won't have to for long," Kay mutters. Xerro, ignorant, chomps down on his food.Ben stands up, holding his mug. "Everyone, I know I don't usually do this sort of thing, but I'd like to propose a toast for Merriam and wish her well in Youngwater. Uh, I don't know much about college... less about magic college... but I'm sure she'll do great and make our family proud."Alex raises his cup. "Hear hear!" The others raise their glasses, as do you, and drink. As Ben sits down, Merriam gives him a kiss on the cheek that makes him blush slightly. Amber cocks her brow, but otherwise says nothing and continues to work on her eggs.Several minutes later, Bargum has entered into a story. "So there we were, faced with a pit in front o' us with but a single danglin' rope, and down below we heard some terrible abomination, howlin' and hungry. With a wall o' slime behind us rapidly closin' in, the youngest of us leapt to the rope, but only to his doom.""Why?" Alex asks, drawn into the story."The rope concealed spikes! Grabbin' onto it only made 'em dig into yer hands. He let go and fell to certain death, the poor lad. Our mage cast a bridge spell and we crossed that way. Never trust a rope in a dungeon! That's my lesson o' the day. And poke chests before opening them.""Everyone should know that one," Amber says. "It's just common knowledge."You pause as you think about the several chests you've come across in dungeons and ruins and how you opened them without a care. Then you shrug and drink.Outside, the party gathers to say goodbye to Merriam and Kay. She climbs onto the horse and he slides up behind her. With all of their provisions and equipment, they're ready for the journey and an extended stay. You walk up to her. "You have the letter that Francis dropped off?" She takes it out. "Good. Outside you find Alex trying to mediate between the p'orc and the kobold, though diplomacy seems unlikely to succeed."There must be common ground!" Alex insists."The only thing I'll agree with him on is how stupid he is!" Hamlet declares."Yeah!" Xerro says, then blinks. "HEY!"Violence is about to break out again when you walk up and pick them both up by the back of the neck. "Okay, that's enough. Hamlet, run along to Jenna."The little druid drops down and scurries back into the cave."Xerro woulda had him!" the kobold insists. "Let Xerro at him!""We need to head back," you tell him. "I got enough out of this little trip."Alex walks alongside you, his smile nearly infectious. "Did you get any sweets?""Oh, yes," you think, licking your lips. "Definitely. What is it?"A strong sense that, up until now, you have never used tells you what it is: divination. Specifically, someone trying to divine your location! Focusing, you reject the magic eyes that are attempting to discern your whereabouts and cast them back to whence they came... northeast of this spot. You do not know who, or why, but someone northeast was trying to find you...The sensation fades. "It's nothing," you assure him. The golem picks up a large stone, demonstrating his ability to do so with ease, and he moves it over to a nearby piles of other large stones he has made. When this is done, he places his hands on the surface of a large rock and begins to change the stone, merging the rocks together. In this way he creates a small stone hut with his magic."I've never seen a golem quite like him," Francis remarks. "He didn't seem to be able to do any of that when he was here last.""Something must have happened to him," you agree. "Someone gave him this power... or some thing, perhaps. He didn't just 'wake up' with these abilities."Outside, Solomon continues his work, shaping his hut before commanding several plants and grass to spring up and grow along its exterior. This seems to please him and gives the hut a more natural and aesthetically pleasing appearance. He walks inside, out of view."Well, he seems comfortable," Francis says. "Think I should keep him here for a while?""I'm not sure. It may be a good idea.""Whatever you decide, let me know. Did Merriam leave for Youngwater?"You follow his change of topic. "She did, yes. "In the meantime, I've learned something interesting.""Oh?""Apparently, a moon elf appeared in the court of the high elven royal family up north." You stop and stare at him. He looks up at you with a raised brow. "Something of a coincidence that this happened not long after you specifically asked me about moon elves, isn't it?""What happened?""She made a few threats and disappeared. Apparently she said something to the effect of, 'if the elves of this world will not serve me, I will destroy them all.' Or something. They weren't interested in buying what she was selling, so she kidnapped the royal high elven princess. The entire northern kingdom is in an uproar."Your eyes stray aside as you think about this news. ' I thought she detested these surface elves. "And learning how to defeat her, perhaps even moreso... One thing's for certain, you can't take her on alone again. Back from dinner.>>1578353>>1578363>>1578366>>1578369You currently have four revenants: Ir'as the desert priestess, Komortha the northerner, Alicia the (memory-wiped) dark elf, Perilynth (the original revenant, now with her head back). As it is within your power to return them to life, they have served you faithfully, but they have also done nothing to demonstrate their faith in you. This is because they haven't been given any serious tasks yet; they have only been assigned simple tasks around your citadel.Your revenants present you with a few opportunities. You can send them on missions that could further your goals, and if you are worried about their true intentions you can send servitors to spy on them as they do, or other beings such as wraiths. These missions could be anything from gathering resources, intelligence, components for rituals, kidnapping people, etc.If these revenants perform capably, you can see fit to reward them however you please. If they fail, you can drain them of memories and turn them into more simple servants, like your current drow, who knows no magic. The Silverwind family is known for possessing a number of valuable works of art, but the goal of the heist is to steal a diamong ring, ancient and incredibly rare, from the hand of Lady Silverwind herself. On the night of the ball, Supremia plans to use a body double of her husband, Lord Silverwind, while she distracts the husband. This double will remove the ring by use of a secret password they have divined (which exists between the lord and lady for this very kind of thing; their passcode will be their undoing). Upon removal of the ring, they have a planned distraction in the form of an attack on the manner by werewolves, the leader of whom Supremia has a pact with. As the ball takes place on the night of a full moon, they will make the perfect distraction to allow the thieves to vanish under the chaos. They plan to fence the ring to a collector for no less than one-hundred thousand gold pieces, split the profits and pay off the werewolf lord with tracts of forest land for him and his pack to inhabit. Now, the question becomes: how do you want to ruin it for them?>Warn the lord and lady in advance of the party>Go to the party and save the ring in front of all>Use Alicia at the party to throw off Supremia>Take down the werewolves before they can be used>Other

>>1579406this is so good
I suppose the real factor in the situation is how much we choose to directly reveal/involve ourselves or work through proxies. The end goal is to get the thief to work for us by having her be captured and then presenting a way out for her. She may not be as inclined to do so if she learns we were the one who foiled her heist, as >>1579406 points out.We could do this in a number of ways, one of them being that we never have any direct involvement/contact with any of the individuals in question except the thief when the time comes to save her; we have built up a fair network of allies and servants by now, whom we can deceive/command in all manner of ways to assist us getting to our end goal without anyone being any the wiser.Of course, being known as the one who foiled the plot could also enhance our prestige and earn favors with the high elven family. The other side of that same coin being that we could also have one of our allies/servants gain that prestige and through them wield the favors that come with it, without having the glory ourselves (just the benefits that come with it). With that in mind, how do we want to proceed?
Maybe Meriam or Kay can benefit from the info
>>1579469we could split our allies, the most heroic deal with the werewolves, Ben Amber...we and our twin could win a favor on the high elves, telling them about the heistand to gain the thief "trust" we can transform ourselves into her sister, talk about winning the throne, put the mark on her and then betray her
>>1579469The main point is to minimize our appearance until the arrival at Supremia's cell. We have to appear as her dark savior. We can send some of our agents to fuck up or at least stall the werewolves without pointing back to us.
>>1579531>and to gain the thief "trust" we can transform ourselves into her sister, talk about winning the throne, put the mark on her and then betray herThat's not a bad idea.
