Rolled 19 (1d100)This time we finally got off the ship and went to see how our new employees were holding up. Only to accidentally instigate a fight between your employees and the contractors you hired to do some upgrades. There you stand staring blankly while an excited bot compliments you upon your skills.Welcome back to Cape and Colony Quest. Where despite being a charisma hero you still manage to fuck up social situations. Imagine how bad it would be if you weren't a charisma hero...
Rolled 84 (1d100)>>1543162So...what do?For some reason I cannot link last thread like I usually do...and I was wandering why I wasn't getting any new posts. I was busy you see and when I went to check...turned out it fell off the board.Oops. On the plus side my computer is in working order...and now i gotta find all new good pics again.
Rolled 74 (1d100)>>1543162>>1543531Let's see...we were going to just watch, but maybe we should do something.I'm going to say we pop off some gravity grenades to immobilize everyone so we all have a chance to cool off.
Rolled 20 (1d100)>>1543531I thought this had the backing.>>1539433>>Other?Fuck it ok sure..don't even be subtle about it, just drag a chair letting it screech along the floor. Loud pack of chips, radio on to some happy tune. Just kick back and relax. If they start anything let Ahbr quick draw them into submissionBut if not.>Stop being the reasonable diplomatBe an outsider diplomat. That nano control should add some nice effects.
>>1543633This actually got a 99 in support>>1539795But it was my idea so i'll be quiet
Rolled 34 (1d100)>>1543633let's try it
Rolled 87 (1d100)>>1543633The brawl despite your attempts seems to be ongoing. With Ahbr instead of trying to stop it is instead cheering them on off to the side. Good news is things haven't turned lethal. They are just beating the shit out of each other. So you sat there...ate some chips listened to some tunes and tried to do the outsider look given how successful you were by accident last time. Sadly they are either to focused on each other or your missing something...What do?
Rolled 1 (1d100)>>1545591I guess we can smart nano the guns like we did with the grocery girl. Second mode the G-nades on a few to make them left off a little. Then First mode to drop them all down to have a chat.Something like "I didn't want to be dick, but people are acting like children. If you have a problem, tell me! I will work will all of you to see if an agreement can be made. If it's to much work. I'll give ya a break. If we are doing something that seems bad. Tell me and show me what you think will work better. We are a crew. We work together to become stronger. Each with something to add into the whole. So can we calm down now? Maybe we can go out for ice-cream and talk this out, sound good?"
>>1545883God dam it!So how long till I get a perk for this Genie? I mean it. This shit is crazy. The dice just love opening with those 1's for the day or just me...
Rolled 7 (1d100)>>1545893To confirm that the dice followed...only way to make sure is by unleashing Glowy Joe because Glowy Joe is Glowy Joe whom the dice love to INSANE degree.Like fucking hell that crazy bastard is never gonna die...I tried. A lot.Not even I THE CREATOR COULD KILL GLOWY JOE! ...fucking glowy Joe and excessively biased dice. I know your pain anon just as the dice 1 in beginning of threads haunt you Glowy Joe haunts me...
Rolled 34 (1d100)>>1543633Your attempts to use the different type of grenades together had a most...unfortunate reaction to each others presence.WARNINGWARNINGGRAVITY ANOMALY DETECTED!WARNINGWARNINGSuddenly emergency sirens throughout the colony started to go off. With those you attempted to stop have stopped fighting....only to face towards you. Whom they know clearly caused it.You meanwhile were a bit distracted by the fact that OH FUCK GROUND ZERO IS YOUR HOME AND BUSINESS FUCK FUCK FUCK!What do?>Nanites...to the rescue!>Quick switch to spooky scary nanite outsider mode>Okay now is a very good time to run away like hell...>So uh....would you guys believe me when I say this is an accident?>Other?>>1546010Oh good thing that wasn't a crit...looks like I am safe after all! Sucks to be you anon I finally got away from the that biased as fuck dice goddess got left behind in /tg/. hahah...only good thing about /qst/.
Rolled 27 (1d100)It's funny, I thought to myself earlier that the only downside to using gravity grenades here is how bad it would be if we got a 1.>>1546074>Nanites...to the rescue! It's our only hope to avert massive damage to our own property!
Rolled 20 (1d100)>>1546074Well lucky you.>>1546127I'm wondering how good the smart nanites with our power will be. Maybe we can make some kind of stretchy foundation to handle to changes.
Rolled 37 (1d100)>>1546074This is perfect, we go scary mode and kill everyone who witnessed it except for abhr and make our escape. Then when we reappear we hunt the evil doer
>>1547279You want to kill all our employees and contractors?
Rolled 95 (1d100)>>1546074>Nanites...to the rescue!Oh fuck...well this is awkward aint it>So uh....would you guys believe me when I say this is an accident?Turn scary if bad things start happening
Rolled 36 (1d100)>>1546993I was going over board with the Foundation thing. They probably can just take out the G-nades.>>1547476We can say it was an accident after words or not at all. We could even just be like this the things you make me do.
Rolled 17 (1d100)>>1548204I think it would be more like tanking the anomaly caused by the g-nades.But I agree that the anomaly should be our sole concern for the moment. We can worry about people being pissed at us after we've done all we can to not have our shop and home torn to shred by gravitic forces.
Rolled 37 (1d100)>>1546074Alright so consensus still hasn't been achieved.
Rolled 19 (1d100)>>1549116Really? I see three for nanites to the rescue and I'll make it four
Rolled 50 (1d100)>>1550124Probably doesn't count the mix vote as a whole vote for the nanites.
>>1550197So what 3.5?
Rolled 59 (1d100)>>15505522 for nanites.1 mixed.1 for scary mode.
Rolled 30 (1d100)>>1550585Well they did just switch from scary mode to nanites. I would've gone scary my self, but then we would have the whole town after us and probably no more crew. Well the co-manger may stick around. I get the feeling corp people wouldn't care.
Rolled 57 (1d100)>>1550694Yeah, the scary mode would be sort of hard to work out and would take some great rolls to play it out accordingly.
>>1551731I think it would've been fine before we set off a GRAVITY ANOMALY. I'm worried that now it would be over board.
Rolled 50 (1d100)>>1550124Your attempts to use the nanites did not go well. You had hoped given their advanced nature they should be able to handle it right?...Nope. Instead the gravity anomaly tore them to shreds as it grew. Not even making a dent as it increased in size thereby further damaging your property as everyone else started to quickly hurry away from the scene of ever increasing devastation. What do?
Rolled 69 (1d100)>>1552763Scanner lock the G-nades to make sure the shoots hit the targets. Fire the plasma cannon we have. I would say rod of God to hit, but more G-nades in the mix may break things more.
Rolled 74 (1d100)>>1552963I'm fairly certain the G-nades themselves are actually gone now, leaving behind their effect. Which might not be so easy to stop by just hitting it.More G-nades could make it worse, but are also possibly the only thing that might fix it.>>1552763I say we lob a cluster of gravity-CANCELLING grenades at the anomalyBut also just in case, start running before we even see whether they work.
Rolled 90 (1d100)>>1552963Technically not a cannon. Its more in between a rifle and an SMG in size. Really not that big but packs one hell of a punch. On the other hand if you let it charge up first the shot it will unleash is indeed quite worthy of coming out of a cannon. Its usual firing mode depends on if you hold down the trigger or not.Don't want anons to mistake the alien gun for being much bigger or smaller then it really is. It's not actually that big and even more strangely is how it can size adjust. Hence why you don't get as large a penalty for using it.For some alien weapons though its worth eating the usage penalty due to how powerful they can be.>>1553074Unless its a continuous effect or requires a wind up time like with the Rod of God they get consumed in the process. Once it wears off they will also vanish.
Rolled 83 (1d100)>>1547476>My 95 is ignored I am not worthy, feels bad man
Rolled 82 (1d100)>>1553542It was 1 vote for mixed. Hence the roll wouldn't have counted for a different action.
Rolled 60 (1d100)>>1553553Hey (forgot name of ship's Advanced AI), you got anything that can undo gravity anomalies?
>>1553553Damn Foiled again
Rolled 45 (1d100)>>1553684"Gravity anomalies? Nope only fly far far away. Those things have a bad habit of wrecking your shit, fucking with the FTL, and letting bad things in. Not fun and why would I possess a gravity stabilizer?"
Rolled 41 (1d100)>>1553926I imaged breaking down anything may have a need for that. After all that ship kicks butt at striping places clean.
Rolled 53 (1d100)>>1553985But if the amazing AI can't help. I guess we can try Cloak of Cancellation.
Rolled 72 (1d100)>>1554004And what, jump into the anomaly with the activated cloak? Or just throw the cloak at it?I still want to try using g-nades to solve the problem they created, but I'm willing to change for consensus if we get 2 people who are not myself supporting something.
Rolled 24 (1d100)>>1554026Yup just walk in since it nulls."It has the peculiar ability to 'erase' your presence and any incoming threats by serving as a strange kind of shield that nullifies whatever hits it."Plus the fact that we no longer exist. With that I image we are closer to what an outsider is.
Rolled 32 (1d100)pic semi related note>>1552763>>1554004SAVE US CLOAK
Rolled 85 (1d100)>>1555016Aw crap. Well, I gave my word. Despite my deep reservations about doing something so counter-intuitive.I love your new art tho.>>1554089Alright, we're doing this.>>1553926>gravity stabilizerI was thinking use as many grenades as possible, all mode 10, to control gravity to stabilize it. Oh well.
Rolled 28 (1d100)>>1555212"Tenth results complete control of gravity either around the device OR 1 specific object."Not sure on how many G-nades we have and the range on the control. On top of this problem growing. We are faced with a big pickle.
Rolled 92 (1d100)>>1555313Well I'm not sure on the cloak's ability to nullify powerful environmental effects, and failure is a lot more likely than the g-nades to be lethal because we just ran into the center of the shitstorm. But I'm supporting it anyway, I said I would after all. So I really hope it works. We shall see.
>>1555327Well hopefully an art tribute and that 92 will pull us over the edge
Rolled 77 (1d100)>>1555327If there is worry about the gravity messing up the the hero temporarily out of existence. Lets pop the 8 mode of G-nade."Eighth setting causes target to be rendered immune to gravity for a set amount of time. "The just nanite cloak walk our way in. Tho I'm not sure if that will cancel out the threat.
Rolled 56 (1d100)>>1555401You know you can always consume a boon...which would actually be a pretty good idea unless you come up with a good plan.Seriously though if you fuck up to hard not only will you destroy your home and business but also cause massive damage to the colony possibly even the world itself.Currently I do think you have like 3 boons available. You can also consider burning fate points to earn you an extra degree of success per a point used.
Rolled 92 (1d100)>>1557008Let's burn a boon. Instead of this being a normal, destructive gravity anomaly...This is actually a gravity anomaly that draws in and concentrates an incredibly valuable resource, such as dark matter. It also makes it non-dangerous to harvest though.
Rolled 33 (1d100)>>1557098Hell yeah!Maybe not dark matter specifically, since that stuff is in interstellar space, but it's not the only exotic resource.
Rolled 6 (1d100)>>1557133Sounds good to me.
Rolled 79 (1d100)>>1557008I'll back a boon use. Since we lack the know how to stop this.
Rolled 5 (1d100)>>1557008Alright so how do you wanna use the boon? Apparently that is the consensus but the how is still missing. Also on a somewhat unrelated note I have a wedding to attend...for like a week or so I will be occupied.
>>1557385I suggest we use it too awaken "Something Spiecial" within ourselves something to build on our Outsider Darkside theme and the developing black hole in front of us...Something that plays into these Issues nicely could be some sort of localized telekinesis with our waking of it enough to disperse the black hole or maybe some form of dark matter manipulation a'la Mass effect Biotics?
Rolled 93 (1d100)>>1557496Boons are entirely up to anons to decide how they wanna use. To varying effects depending on how smart you are about it. Relying upon the right combos and stacks can GREATLY enhance the overall effect.
Rolled 39 (1d100)>>1557511Basically to point out the obvious you would gain much more if you used a boon on something Charisma related because your Charisma is considered Heroic. On the other hand if you use a Boon on say might it wont have that powerful Stacking and combo effect that would of otherwise existed if you had spent it on charisma. Is a very easy example. Stacks and combos range from very easy to very hard, but the effects are ALWAYS well worth the trouble. This doesn't mean you shouldn't use a boon in something your weak in because it will boost it. So further upgrades will naturally be enhanced and if you boost it hard enough it will even become Heroic Tier.
Rolled 6 (1d100)>>1557496What about combining the gravity grenades with our nanites and nanite manipulation, linking with the grenade maker to give us mastery of gravity manipulation (as long as we have grenades)Builds off a trait we already have, that should count for something right?
>>1557511Ok how about we build on our "Commanding Presence" into "Authority"...Something like...http://powerlisting.wikia.com/wiki/Fundamental_Forces_ManipulationMore specifically the gravity bit. We build on what we have, this is not a new power more an extension and expansion of our existing one, its not controlling reality or matter. Your asking/speaking and it obeys, Think of it as using charisma/command upon the laws of the universe to let X or Y occur. Effecting the powers of the universe as if it were some great mind itself
Rolled 70 (1d100)>>1557583Actually this is better if we can do it
Rolled 3 (1d100)>>1557561Yup.Stacking and Combos really aren't that complicated. It's just figuring out how to manipulate things into the best order in favor of your goals.Which can it admittedly get rather complicated and hard at times.>>1557583That can be...rather difficult. Be aware a boon is only so powerful. The harder the request and the less powerful the boons used the less likely it will work out. There is a precedent for such a Power as Elton had that kind of power.
>>1557777firstly>checkedsecondly ok ill think a lil more on it
Rolled 93 (1d100)I think the issue we're having is no one can think of a good way of wording a combo to deal with the forming singularity and our current powers. The closest thing I could some up with was something along the lines of...>Divine AidOur Charisma has a noteable effect upon the Divine, as such our prayers are far more likely to be heard, thus with our charisma we'd effectivly become a "God's Favorite" getting a Guardian Angel on our shoulder and hopefully deal with this cluster fuck for us.
Rolled 31 (1d100)>>1558802What's wrong with my suggestion? >>1557561Combos with nanite manipulation, uses a piece of tech so it's not as much of a stretch.Maybe it would more accurately be "Tech Assimilation" or something, but the idea is to use the grenade's broad power over gravity to make them act as a gravity stabilizer.
Rolled 25 (1d100)>>1559643>>1558802>>1557583>Burn BoonOur charisma and commanding presence can be applied to commanded units and gear/tech at our disposal to great effect, allowing targeted units to utilize targeted gear/tech as if it was naturally integrated with/into them.Step 2: Utilize power on nanites+gravity grenades and THEN deploy them to stop the gravity anomaly.
>>1559643>>1560284Tech Command/Technomancy/Ghost of the machine? I could dig that
>>1560864More like Command: Specialty Tech: Special Ability Fusion
>>1560902But how would that interact with bots, who are already naturally integrated with their tech?More immediately, can we really treat the smart nanites as a commanded unit?Would definitely support if I was sure we actually can treat the nanites as a unit.>>1560864I kind of like that too; using nanites to form a deep connection and super charisma to help coax tech into doing what we want
>>1557777Alright good news for anons turns out I got internet here. So while posting wont be regular due to me having to take part in activities there WILL be some posts. So stuff can still happen.>>1557834Think of it like math.Stacks= Addition. As its just stacking.Combos= Multiplication. As they tend to have a multiplying effect. At least the positives of it, naturally the penalties are pretty much the opposite. Which can naturally prove equally awesome especially if its the enemy whose suffering and not you!
Rolled 13 (1d100)>>1562013>How would that interact with bots, who are already naturally integrated with their tech?Yes, that's where the "targeted unit and targeted gear/tech" comes into play. It would have no effect if you targeted bots and the equipment they already have integrated...but if you targeted bots and a foreign/external piece of equipment, then...!>More immediately, can we really treat the smart nanites as a commanded unit?I'm pretty sure that even if individual nanites may not count as commanded units, a nanite swarm/mass would definitely count as a commanded unit. Also this plays off some subtle hints that Genie may or may not have been giving off. The chief one being that our Rampant AI bud figured out we were a charisma hero and bestowed on us the Nanite Control ability so as to play to our strengths.
>>1563889Okay, let's give it a shot.
>>1563916If my suspicions are right then that AI was actually particularly clever with giving us that power too.Just remember that charisma heroes benefit more from quantity than quality.
Rolled 12 (1d100)>>1563929Yes. I got that from your previous post, including your reference to Genie repeatedly stating we benefit more from quantity than quality, thank you. I was agreeing to go with your suggestion, there's no need to restate your case to me. We will most likely soon see if you are correct.
Rolled 62 (1d100)>>1563952But if you look into it further then you'll see also that we benefit more from quantity than quality anon.
Rolled 91 (1d100)>>1563983Yes, I just said that I got that part as well. Because nanites are many. Or did you mean something else entirely? Something completely unrelated to using the quantity of nanites? Because Genie repeatedly stated that we benefit more from quantity than quality, and you said you think that's a reference to the ability we were given by the AI who did nanite reconstruction on us-the ability of nanite manipulation.
Rolled 92 (1d100)>>1564017What do you figure the other ability it bestowed on us was?
>>1564158I have no idea. What do you think it was?Genie said, quite specifically, that it is because we're a charisma hero that we benefit from quantity more than quality-i.e. because of the power we started with, not something we gained only recently. So you can't mean that the hidden ability is simply to benefit from quantity.
Rolled 5 (1d100)>>1563889Let's do it
>>1557777hm...strange the post stating that I have internet here and can post irregularly(due to needing to attend to certain events/matters) has never shown up. No wonder there weren't any new posts...and this time it was 4chan's fault! It lost my post.
>>1565937A Haunting perhaps?
Rolled 48 (1d100)>>1565937That's...weird. It showed up for me.>>1562325Also we did have a little discussion.>>1564158>>1564202And I have come to believe Delim is just pretending to know more than they actually do.>>1562013>RESCINDI hereby RESCIND my support for >>1560284I instead propose our boon utilize nanite manipulation+commanding presence to give us Machine Command!Rather than helping commanded troops use their tech, this shall be an ability of pure control and mastery over technology-even to the point that it might BECOME commanded troops!
Rolled 60 (1d100)>>1565948Or use the boon to reveal and upgrade our unkown ability, and just use the damn gravity grenades to act as a gravity stabilizer already.
Rolled 58 (1d100)>>1565948Aww, silly. That touches on a secret application of our ability. If we applied it to our Nanites, as commanded troops, and some piece of equipment, then guess who now has control of that equipment possibly to the point of animating it?
Rolled 89 (1d100)>>1565976So we both want, essentially, to be able to control tech through our nanites, yes?Still, you've been dodgy enough that I'm not willing to take your word for it that our nanites can count as commanded troops. Although even if that ends up not being the case, we can still try my idea to just use the grenades ourself. Hmmm.....
Rolled 63 (1d100)>>1560284>>1564369Alright, fuck it. Let's do it!
Rolled 82 (1d100)>>1565948What I'm I pretending on?
Rolled 48 (1d100)>>1576615Implying you discovered some secret I'm unaware of:>>1563983You're just repeating what we both already said immediately prior, but phrasing it as if there's something more to it!Implying you know what our hidden ability is:>>1564158In the context of the discussion, that is, given the previous implication.
>>1576649Well that's not me. I hadn't been on till now from the last post under this ID (>>1557199). I was waiting like a week till Genie was back (also working). So sorry for any miss understanding.
