Last time on EDQ, anons got Liz very, very salty indeed.

You are also playing as Charlemagne, and you've been doing a bit to fufill your personal agenda while trying to rule...

Anyways, it seems the communists got taken care of, and Sweden seems to be prospering again...

A few things have transpired sicne the battle however.

The irrelivancy of mass charges and melee have become transparent to the officer Corp, and they've decided to revitilize themselves and innovate...

Choose an advanced army doctrine.

Manpower: 4 Million (1 Million in the army.)

Your army costs you about 50$ Million in income per year.
Your current income (after army and everything else): 300$ Million per year, roughly.

>Mass Infantry. (WW2.) (Your manpower goes up to 7 Million and your conscription laws become much more updated, along with you drafting from closer countries. The cost of your army is also reduced by half. Armor becomes a bit more expensive.)
>Blitzkrieg. (WW2) (Your army will become fully mobilized with trucks allowing for much faster movement, and armor cost will be reduced by half. Doubles the cost of your army however, and your men are forced to have lighter Anti-Tank guns and lighter Anti-Air. Armored Tanks cost is reduced by half, and are much more effective.)
>Specialist Corps (WW2) (Your army attempts to make your men "elite" rather then "grunts". Triples the cost of the army, but your entire army becomes much more effective but take much longer to train.)
>>
>>1522882
Also...

>Attempt to learn some doctrines from another race or country... (Each race has a special doctrine!)
>Write-in
>>
>>1522882
>Blitzkrieg. (WW2) (Your army will become fully mobilized with trucks allowing for much faster movement, and armor cost will be reduced by half. >>
>>1522882
>Specialist Corps (WW2) (Your army attempts to make your men "elite" rather then "grunts". Triples the cost of the army, but your entire army becomes much more effective but take much longer to train.)
>>
Keep in mind that the Blitzkrieg will discourge you from wanting less mobile and heavier races to participate, but Specialist Corps have a problem with huge armies.
>>
>>1522950
Changing to specialist then. Large armies are why biological weapons exist. Also don't forget to update twitter
>>
Specialist it is. Now choose between learning another doctrine or learning Specialist Blitzkrieg.

Mass Infantry Specialists is contradictory and not possible.
>>
>>1522987
Learn another doctrine
>>
>>1522987
Let's look at kobold
>>
God dammit guys. Why did you go for the specialist corps? Manpower is something we have to spare, not money.

I could've dealt with blitzkrieg but specialist corps is shit since it can't make full use of the manpower of our empire.

You realise this changes our entire military strategy? That all my ideas weren't calibrated for this style of war? This eliminates so many different styles of combat and other tactics we could've used!

Model-T tank doctrine, superior firepower and so many other methods are impossible or far harder with a focus on quality.
>>
Keep in mind the kobolds aren't going to say a word about their strategies, which are quite advanced for "Post WW2" tech, going to "Computer Era" shit.

So expect Kobold Doctrines to be very effective but also nearly impossible to learn unless you join it as an officer or get the legate mindcontrolled or some shit.

Also, keep in mind that Mass Infantry also helps your cities defenses as they get double the garrison. You can still vote for other things by the way anons.
>>
>>1523060
Fine, then I vote for spamming tanks
>>
>>1523060
What do you mean other things?
>>
>>1523063
You can try to revote from Specialist to something else.

Also, here's a quick example of what Revenaris is allowed to get.

>Crusader Warfare (WW2) (Only allowed if you either take control of the Papacy, or nationalize the remaining Crusader Orders. Charlemagne can do this if he makes the Empire more catholic-favored, or alternatively, try to make a religious order dedicated to warfare. Your infantry automatically pass all will saves in religious warfare, and are typically much more effective from their zeal in it, above average infantry. Though however, fighting other Catholics/religions the holy warriors worship will mean your army will be fucking shit at it. Can be combined with another tactic. Can be upgraded in the future...)
>Citizen Soldier (Your average citizen is required to be in the army. Increases manpower to 6 Million, and your citizens are more trained and disciplined in milita's once they retire, and in additionally the price of your army goes down by 1/4th. Slightly more effective general army, but produces quite a bit of discontent. Can be combined with another dcotrine)
>>
>>1523085
Can I get more details on
>Citizen Soldier (Your average citizen is required to be in the army. How long are they soliders for? Two, three, years?
>>
>>1523085
I would like put a vote changing specialist to citizen soldier but including specialist jobs like doctors in the mix
>>
>>1523093
It's up to you, but the longer they are the more chance they have of dying...

Keep in mind you have to mix Citizen Soldier or Crusade Warfare with something else.
>>
>>1523085
Oh, and are you going to call an end to WRQ4? Its been 2 days since the last update
>>1523102
Then citizen blitzkrieg
>>
>>1523096
No, these are things you can have in addition to specialist I think. Although Citizen soldier doesn't work well with Specialist thanks to specialist wanting small numbers of troops to work with...

Also, I would like to begin a revote to change from Specialist corps to Blitzkrieg.

>>1523102
So how does it work? Are they automatically conscripted once they reach a certain age for a certain number of years excluding people in certain jobs and shit?
>>
>>1523108
>citizen blitzkrieg
What kinda mad max level bullshit are you going for here?
>>
>>1523108
I focus on EDQ, and I've been way too busy to WRQ to think about updating it. It might change in a week or two.

>>1523110
Citizen Soldier just means in order to be considered a full citizen they're encouraged to sign up for the army.

>>1523108
You can only choose to mix Crusader and Citizen with something else like Crusader Blitzkrieg or something.
>>
Note.
Blitzkrieg means soldiers need to be lighter.
So no half dragons.
>>
I would argue we should use Blitzkrieg.

As to what other thing we could try and get...I don't know can we have a few more generic examples?
>>
>>1523143
If we do then we'll have to change our officer corps from half dragons
>>
Keep in mind that Blitzkrieg can go down the path of making very powerful, big, and devestating tanks, along with mobile advances and "sudden" annexations of land which are suddenly fortified positions.

That's all anons could in theory grab right now.
>>
>>1523153
What is there down the mass infantry route?
>>
>>1523181
The ability to mass produce tanks and artillery for cheap, and gain even more manpower, along with some nice defensive bonuses.
>>
to sum it up it seems

>Mass infantry:More troops, better garrisons in fortifactions, spam mooks at people, They'll be behind technologically and poorly trained individually and in general low quality

>Blitzkrieg: Fast strike force to overwhelm forces, no heavy forces like half dragons and minos, same for weapons as well

>Specialist: Elite forces that we can outfit with high grade technology, costs more money
>>
So it seems the best option is specialist mass citizen army
>>
Rolling here in 25 minutes unless anons decide.
>>
>>1523199
>Mass infantry:More troops, better garrisons in fortification, spam mooks at people, They'll be behind technologically and poorly trained individually and in general low quality

They will be behind technologically by comparison to what we could achieve with other choices but will still be better equipped if we put the effort in.

>>Blitzkrieg: Fast strike force to overwhelm forces, no heavy forces like half dragons and minos, same for weapons as well

No heavy weapons or heavy races. Unless we produce specialised vehicles to carry them in both cases.

>>Specialist: Elite forces that we can outfit with high grade technology, costs more money

No real downsides besides the cost and the difficulties with larger numbers.
>>
>>1523222
I'm gonna go with mass infantry.
>>
>>1523208
No.

Because that would bankrupt your nation just from the cost, and you can only combine Mass Infantry with either Crusader or Citizen Service.
>>
>>1523237
not really.
We'd bankrupt ourselves unless we had a godly economy

We simply cant afford to keep them teched out and in mass numbers.
And they'd have poor training
>>
>>1523265
Good equipment doesn't automatically cost more.

For example, with moderate investment we could develop laser rifles thanks to the high density batteries and laser enhancing crystals we have.

Also, mass infantry doesn't mean badly trained infantry because training is cheap: you are paying them no matter what.
>>
Final roll call.
>>
>>1523299
>Mass Infantry. (WW2.) (Your manpower goes up to 7 Million and your conscription laws become much more updated, along with you drafting from closer countries. The cost of your army is also reduced by half. Armor becomes a bit more expensive.)
>>
>>1523270
it means they'll be subpar.

Basically specialist would be trained for a year.
These guys would be 3 months.

And those are a rare crystal we have to grow in a contained environment.

Simply put.
At best we can give the mass infantry average to above average.

Specialists we could start going a bit crazy with.

It's a quality vs quantity thing.
>>
>>1523301
>Basically specialist would be trained for a year.
These guys would be 3 months.
American basic training for their armed forces is far shorter than a year and they are considered one of the best trained forces on earth these days.

>And those are a rare crystal we have to grow in a contained environment.
Not really, it will just keep growing if we leave it, the controlled environment is to avoid the world becoming a giant crystal.

>At best we can give the mass infantry average to above average.
And we can have more than 7 million of them.

>Specialists we could start going a bit crazy with.
Or we rely on elite squads and a decent common soldier.

>It's a quality vs quantity thing.
Correct and quantity is better.
>>
I'm passing out anons. Decide by morning please.
>>
>>1523317
>To avoid the world becoming a giant crystal.
And we kinda should so growing them isn't going to be EZ PZ. It takes care and precision

And the year thing is just a comparison I got from OP since I was asking about that.

>Elite squads.
We don't really have any elite squads. Just personal regiments that aren't that elite.

>Quantity is better.
That's opinion.
>>
>>1523325
>And we kinda should so growing them isn't going to be EZ PZ. It takes care and precision
It is a simple thing to upscale the production.

>And the year thing is just a comparison I got from OP since I was asking about that.
Okay just pointing it out.

>We don't really have any elite squads. Just personal regiments that aren't that elite.
Those regiments are elite and we can make them far better if we bothered to invest in their training, equipment and shit.

>That's opinion.
In a world where you can lose thousands in a moments notice and without them having a single chance to fight back. I would see quantity as great.
>>
I think we should get a list of the various disciplines of the various races. Because we all seem to be ignoring them and mass infantry is the only main option appealing to me right now
>>
Back because I couldn't sleep.

Keep in mind, to even know what a race's discpline is you require a few in the officer corp, and to actually use them you need them as a majority for a while.

Anyways, here's a quick history I was thinking about a bit for Germany.

1944: Hitler assassinated in Operation Valkyria. Helmuth James Graf von Moltke manages to negotiate an early peace with the Allies. Graf von Moltke sets into motion the foundation of a democratic Germany in the Second Versailies Treaty. As due to the "early peace" with Germany, Germany keeps most of the territory gained in the Second World War, but does lose a bit of land and is reduced greatly in manpower and industry. France is restored, and the territories of the Balkan lost. In a year's time, it is united under Serbia, with Albania and Romania the only other remaining Balkan state. Italy itself has the Pope step into power in a semi-religious coup.
Popular demand for a "second" Fuhrer leads to concessions. Germany is made into a elective monarchy by nobility by the Allies. Helmuth James Graf von Moltke feels betrayed by this, along with most of the German people.
Helmuth is forced to flee Germany after he was nearly assassinated by the remnants of the Nazi Party.

Soviet Russia is pushed back after the Germans consolidate to deal with them under leadership of Wilhelm II. Wilhelm II dies not too long after cementing his position by winning the war against Soviet Russia by capturing Stalingrad and encircles Moscow in a very bloody battle, and manages to luckily capture Stalin in his flight away.

His heir, Wolfgang, takes power. He declares annexation of Romania after it's soviet occupation. Not too long after, Austria declares rulership over Hungary after it's brief seperation, and under fear of a combined German-Austrian force, surrenders quickly and becomes a state under Austria, to this day.

A year after you come around, and Wolfgang was killed by poison at a mead hall. Germany is in the midst of somewhat severe public unrest and a great feeling of betrayal by the leaders of Germany due to the Second Versailes Treaty. But due to the great manpower, absolutely titanic industry manpower, and innovative nature, is firmly planted in the League of Nations.

This is a general history of Germany, which I felt lacking.
>>
>>1523454
So what you are saying is that the germans are angry, armed and able for a third world war?

Welp, let's make it 3 times in a century...
>>
Some things about the different races in our empire and what military doctrines they'd prefer.

Werewolves and Half-Dragons prefer up-front charges.
Humans are the most 'tactically flexiable and prefer combined arms.
Dwarves and Yuan-Ti prefer defensive styles of combat and bombardment.
Minotaurs vary. They can be either for up-front charges or for the more educated, bombardment and combined arms.
Elves tend to favor guerrila warfare.

Also the Kobolds prefer armored warfare to encircle and destroy the enemy.
>>
>>1523698
The kobolds are also obsessed with traps.
>>
>>1523702
Yeah, you can probably expect stuff like really good mines and a a lot of them but apperantly they emphasize a type of Blitzkrieg doctrine. I think this is to get more prisoners.

Also I'm voting for Mass infantry and citizen soldiers.
>>
>>1523475
They are, but lack any unity to do much.

Going to be back in a while anons.
>>
Anyways, Mass Infantry wins, and Citizen Service will be an option later.

Your officer corp has reformated to have a much better supply line and field further troops on the battlefield.

You can also institute a few orders to make your soldiers better...

You can institute two orders. You can institute more as your officers get more competent.

>Fascist Orders (Focus around highly nationalistic and loyal army. Most options will increase the time it takes to recruit and might decrease manpower due to picky recruitment methods. Allows you to take complete control over the army and customizize it to the max.)
>Monarchist Orders (Many of these make certain regiments/elite regiments extremely loyal and very powerful.)
>Mass Infantry Orders (Many of these attempt to increase your manpower or increase the loyalty of your men by more harsh means. Can decrease recruitment time further and lead to better defense in some cases.)
>>
>>1523959
>Mass Infantry Orders (Many of these attempt to increase your manpower or increase the loyalty of your men by more harsh means. Can decrease recruitment time further and lead to better defense in some cases.)
>>
Mass Infantry Orders.

>Penal Regiments. (Sign prisoners up for the army. You gain 2 Million Manpower, but these penal regiments are less effective than usual, and are usually highly disloyal.)
>Political Commissars (Your ideology has "political officers" to maintain morale by propoganda on the frontlines and dispense punishment. This increases the discipline and morale, and combat effectiveness of your men, but slightly decreases their loyalty. Can be upgraded to make them more "heroic" or more "terrifying" later. Will also slowly convert your soldiers towards your ideology.)
>Laxed Youth Recruitment. (Relaxed restrictions on recruiting the youth. Will hurt manpower slightly in the future if you take too many casaulties.)
>Artillery Enforcement (Doubles the rate of production on artillery and makes it even cheaper to field, and makes them even more effective. Halves the time it takes to make artillery. Makes your tanks take twice as long and twice as expensive.)
>Citizen At Arms (Your citizens are considered to be ALWAYS part of the military, and given military training. This helps your soldiers gain experience upon recruitment and their quality, along with having a more militant culture, but revolutions and revolutionaries are likely to be well-trained.)
>Scraping the Barrel (You'll recruit from even the disabled, elderly and mentally ill. Has quite a few disadvantages, but increases your manpower by 3 Million.)
>Service by Requirement. (Conscription can be activated at any time, anywhere, to anyone. This decreases the loyalty of the upper classess since they'll be drafted just as much as the lower classes, but increase your manpower by 1.5 Million.)
>Female Regiments. (Institute Female Regiments. Your manpower will increase by 8 Million, but will cause lots of unrest among traditionalists and the female regiments will not be the best in a fight.)
>We Have Reserves (Recruitment speed decreased by 50%, meaning your men just need a month and a half. Quality drops further.)
>Hold the Line. (Your infantry are doubly more effective at defensive combat and you can now fortify cities to be more resistant against rebellion or invaders.)

Only choose two anons.
>>
>>1524031

Hold the Line and Artillery Enforcement wins.

Right now, anons can choose a country to "fortify" next to and assist in an invasion, or they can look into fortifying a city.

You have "three" enforcement points. Cities can support up to 3 max in peace time of fortifications, and 6 in wartime of fortifications. Borders can have up to 2 before it's considered to be "aggressive".

>...Perhaps you should pursue a bit in making some artwork for this convention... Artwork subtly woven with symbols of Venus... That worked in your Slaaneshi days...
>You should just show up, talk to a bunch of artists who are probably living with their parents, and make them interested in talking with you and dialoging and all that sort of thing.
>...You know what the BEST way to convert people? Take them to a back room... Show them your daemonette form, and remind them of the power of cha- Venus. Yeah. That should work. Most people on seeing godly creatures convert... (Can be very effective... But be careful about luring the wrong people)
>...Take some more extreme methods. Maybe something a bit more... Corrupting, so to speak. (This will corrupt people slowly to worship the Hellenic Gods... These also target a much larger audience, allowing for larger conversions!)
>...Maybe you can just try to be normal and try to talk about religious doctrine or whatever and convert people? (Vasura is bad at this. Less morally ambigious though.)

Keep in mind her "Warp fuckery" options won't corrupt or mutate people, but will corrupt them into worshipping Venus/Roman gods.

Fuck you kike, your the reason we get Rome and the Weimar Republic. 1 woman for a reason, it prevents the females from destroying the kingdom.
>>

>Fuck you kike
Not all that religious thanks, but I would point out I am from a christian family.

>your
Should be either "you are" or "you're".

>the reason we get Rome and the Wiemar Republic.
I am the reason why we got one of the largest, most densely packed metropolitan areas of the early European and human history? Filled with some of the greatest constructions in the world for literally hundreds of years? Well thank you very much.

As to the Wiemar republic, I am responsible for the creation of an intentional dysfunctional government to suppress the Germanic people post-WW 1? By the allies with the hope of preserving peace in Europe? I can't really say if that is a compliment or not...

>1 woman for a reason, it prevents the females from destroying the kingdom.
And this is magically going to occur the instant we have more than 1 woman? Yet we have manged to have more than 1 for a significant period of time without any side-effects that can't be dealt with logically? Sounds suspiciously like there is a massive gaping hole in your logic.
>>
>>1530591
The fall of Rome and the sexual degeneracy of the Weimar republic are both in part a result of sexual liberation taken to an extreme. as Rome became more female dominated and more practiced in 'sexual freedom', It opened it's borders to hoards of foreigners who pillaged the country and made moving around the city streets unsafe.

The Weimar Republic resulted in near complete collapse of Germany and lead to control of the country being handed over to a small populous of foreign Jews until the Nazi party took power.

also sleeping around doesn't have side effects that can't be dealt with logically, it causes long term issues that you cannot deal with logically at all. the fact of the mater is that your advocating for having continuous affairs while married, for the ruler of an empire, which would be a horrible transgression and already is one, against the queen of that very empire as well as her own. not to mention she has the kingdoms popular support. continued cheating will in fact lead to action being taken against our kingdom from within. and finally, I don't very much like the idea of cheating on what has been one of the most unreasonably loyal wives to ever exist in an original story. all in all, I have to say, fuck you and your bullshit theory of sexual liberty.
>>
>>1530623
>The fall of Rome and the sexual degeneracy of the Wiemar republic are both in part a result of sexual liberation taken to an extreme.
What amazing bullshit is this? The fall of Rome was caused by repeated invasions from external barbarian states, a lack of funding to pay their largely mercenary / disloyal armies, corruption, infighting and bad leadership. Not sexual liberation by any directly measurable means.

As to the Wiemar republic, I'll need a link before I can attempt to refute you on this point since I don't understand what you mean.

>as Rome became more female dominated and more practised in 'sexual freedom', It opened it's borders to hoards of foreigners who pillaged the country and made moving around the city streets unsafe.
That is horribly inaccurate. The pillaging of the country was a result of external nations / groups attempting to escape from the invasion by the Huns. As that forced the populations of Visgoths and other tribal groups into roman lands. NOT a loosening of the borders, they came by military might not by political agreement.

>The Weimar Republic resulted in near complete collapse of Germany and lead to control of the country being handed over to a small populous of foreign Jews until the Nazi party took power.
That they did but it did not lead to this transfer of power you seem to believe exists. The power remained with the government they just were shit at using it, busy fixing existing damage and were too politically divided (the goal of the allies when they set the government up) to cause massive change.

>also sleeping around doesn't have side effects that can't be dealt with logically,
Like I said.

>it causes long term issues that you cannot deal with logically at all.
This is the opposite of your previous statement. Please remove all logical impossibilities so I can debate you.

>the fact of the mater is that your advocating for having continuous affairs while married, for the ruler of an empire, which would be a horrible transgression and already is one, against the queen of that very empire as well as her own.
An affair is whenever your partner isn't aware it is happening. She was aware.

>not to mention she has the kingdoms popular support.
True but we've never ruled by popular support.

>continued cheating will in fact lead to action being taken against our kingdom from within.
By whom? The communists? We've killed them. The Christians? Potentially but we are a saint and ex-pope, they won't attack us. The conservatives? Potentially but even they aren't strong enough to defeat us. Our military? Our officers are immensely loyal along with many of our ground troops.

>I don't very much like the idea of cheating on what has been one of the most unreasonably loyal wives to ever exist in an original story.
Cheating implies that all involved were not aware of this occurring. She was.

When have I implied such a theory?

"The western Empire spoke Latin and was Roman Catholic. The eastern Empire spoke Greek and worshipped under the Eastern Orthodox branch of the Christian church. Over time, the east thrived, while the west declined. In fact, after the western part of the Roman Empire fell, the eastern half continued to exist as the Byzantine Empire for hundreds of years. Therefore, the "fall of Rome" really refers only to the fall of the western half of the Empire.

Other fundamental problems contributed to the fall. In the economically ailing west, a decrease in agricultural production led to higher food prices. The western half of the empire had a large trade deficit with the eastern half. The west purchased luxury goods from the east but had nothing to offer in exchange. To make up for the lack of money, the government began producing more coins with less silver content. This led to inflation. Finally, piracy and attacks from Germanic tribes disrupted the flow of trade, especially in the west.

There were political and military difficulties, as well. It didn't help matters that political amateurs were in control of Rome in the years leading up to its fall. Army generals dominated the emperorship, and corruption was rampant. Over time, the military was transformed into a mercenary army with no real loyalty to Rome. As money grew tight, the government hired the cheaper and less reliable Germanic soldiers to fight in Roman armies. By the end, these armies were defending Rome against their fellow Germanic tribesmen. Under these circumstances, the sack of Rome came as no surprise.

Wave after wave of Germanic barbarian tribes swept through the Roman Empire. Groups such as the Visigoths, Vandals, Angles, Saxons, Franks, Ostrogoths, and Lombards took turns ravaging the Empire, eventually carving out areas in which to settle down. The Angles and Saxons populated the British Isles, and the Franks ended up in France."

From http://www.ushistory.org/civ/6f.asp
>>
"The reasons for the fall of the empire include military overreach, invasion by emboldened tribes of Huns and Visigoths from northern and central Europe, inflation, corruption and political incompetence.
While historians have examined dozens of reasons for the decline of the greatest empire the world had ever seen, homosexuality is not one of them.

"No historian is going to argue that debauchery brought about the end of the empire," said Philip Matyszak, a historian and author with a doctorate in Roman history from Oxford University.

At the end of the imperial period, Carthage was one of the great Christian centres of the empire, so it seems odd to claim that it was spreading debauchery. The empire as a whole was becoming ever more Christian. Economic collapse and the arrival of the barbarian hordes had a lot more to do with the end of Roman rule.

In 'The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire', Edward Gibbon blamed the adoption of Christianity as the official religion and a decline in civic virtue as the reason for the collapse. The huge cost of maintaining bridges, roads and aqueducts over such a vast territory has also been identified as a contributing factor, as has the expense of maintaining enough legions to subdue and police the empire. Increases in taxation were also highly unpopular, while increased trade with India and China, through the Silk Route, may have caused a crippling trade imbalance.

The rising cost of ever more spectacular gladiatorial games, borne by Roman emperors and therefore the state, has also been posited as a theory for the decline. The once invincible Roman army was weakened by factional fighting and its ranks were diluted by the introduction of large numbers of Germanic tribesmen, other historians have suggested. Environmental factors may also have played a role, including deforestation, overgrazing and, in North Africa, salinisation of the soil."

From http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/italy/8438599/What-led-to-the-fall-of-the-Roman-Empire.html
>>
"The fall of Ancient Rome started from about AD 190. The Roman Empire was attacked by tribes such as the Goths and the Vandals. Civil wars in parts of the empire further weakened the rule of Rome and respect for Roman law dwindled as a result.

Why was the empire attacked by fierce tribes people? Tribes such as the Goths wanted to move south into parts of Europe that experienced a better climate that would assist their farming. This could only bring them into conflict with the Romans. At about AD 190, Rome also experienced a succession of poor emperors who simply were not capable of doing the job.

The Roman Army was spread throughout Western Europe. Each part of the army had its own idea as to who should be emperor. When one part of the army succeeded in putting its own man into the position of emperor, another part of the army would fight to put its own man in power. Between AD 211 and AD 284, there were twenty-three ‘soldier-emperors’ – and twenty of these men were killed by rivals! Clearly law and order and respect for that, within Rome itself was at fault.

However, Diocletian faced more than just administrative problems. More and more military defences had to be built across the whole empire. This cost money that Rome did not have. To pay for these, taxes were increased and extra coins were minted. This lead to inflation causing prices to rise. Therefore, the people of Rome were less than favourable towards those who led them.

With threats from tribes in northern Europe, financial problems in Rome itself and a civilian population becoming more and more discontented, Rome could ill afford further major issues.

In AD 307, Constantine became emperor. He ruled from AD 307 to AD 337. Constantine was Rome’s first Christian emperor and he is considered to have been a strong ruler.

He believed that Rome as a city was too far away from vital areas of the empire to be of value from a governmental level. Constantine, therefore, moved the capital of the empire to a new city – Constantinople. This was a new city that was built on the old city of Byzantium. Whatever the motives were, Constantine’s decision was a poor one. Constantinople was much further east than Rome and firmly in the eastern empire. This left the western empire very vulnerable – though the eastern empire was hardly free from attacks.

The Ostrogoths attacked the western empire via the eastern empire. The Huns, a fierce tribe from Asia, attacked the western empire. The Franks, Visigoths, and Burgundians all made large inroads into the western empire."

IMPORTANT BIT

"The glory days of the Roman Army had passed and the Romans were forced into making deals with the tribes. The Vandals and Visigoths were allowed to live in the Roman Empire as long as they gave a promise to protect the empire from the Huns.

However, in AD 398, the leader of the Visigoths, Alaric, realised that the Roman Army was so thinly spread, that Rome itself was for the taking. Alaric moved cautiously south but in AD 410 he captured the city of Rome. The city was sacked. Roman held territory in Spain, France, northern Africa and England all fell to the various tribes that attacked them."

They were let in to act as guards and betrayed the Romans, NOT BECAUSE OF FUCKING SEXUAL LIBERTY YA TWAT.

Both parts are from http://www.historylearningsite.co.uk/ancient-rome/the-fall-of-ancient-rome/
>>
"This process created the successor kingdoms. Stage one consisted of immigration onto Roman soil, followed by a second stage of aggressive expansion of the territory under the migrants' control. All of it was carried forward at the point of the sword.

The central Roman state collapsed because the migrants forcibly stripped it of the tax base which it had used to fund its armies, not because of long-term 'organic' transformations."

From http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/ancient/romans/fallofrome_article_01.shtml

As those Visgoths moved in and took over shit, for many reasons as I have shown by these passages, they eliminated the tax base of the Romans and further weakened them.

financial mismanagement, sexual degeneracy, political incompetence, military ineptitude, and trusting outsiders all play a part. you don't just get to push one end of the problem off to the wayside because you don't like it.

Are you fucking kidding me? Did you even read>>1530654?

"No historian is going to argue that debauchery brought about the end of the empire,"

said Philip Matyszak, a historian and author with a doctorate in Roman history from Oxford University.

You are literally arguing a point no historian is apparently going to argue. You and your link which, trust me, I've seen before and still find illogical. It presumes patterns exist in history without any way of proving they do or do not. I won't bother arguing about that link because I struggle to read it in that format and lack the energy in my body. Blame a late night of partying and an hour of sleep.

>what does any of this have to do with the problem of fucking so many other women that Elizabeth finally says fuck it and takes the empire as collateral damage over the course of her revenge.
I would point out Liz has little power over our empire, at least compared to Ren, and anything she could do we could reverse quite quickly ignoring her burning down a city. But that would be out of character and far from realistic for her.

>secondly, we shouldn't have even met Chrysoula, or even that vampire.
Are you shitting me? We met Chryousla because Flames wanted a wife and because we wanted to get the Greeks as a ally. As to the vampire? She is useful as fuck I will have you know, seeing as she is stopping us having to deal with demon cults as frequently as we might otherwise.

>Give me one good reason why we should keep fucking anything that moves.
It gets / got us mutations, improves our relations with other characters, got us out of being raped by drow guards and their pets spiders and various other such events. Including allowing us to charm a wizard of an adventuring party trying to kill our mother. It also secured our alliance with Greece and many other things. Not to mention it stopped Vasura from eliminating us like she was meant to.

Oh dear, look at that. I had more than one.

I think you are underestimating the value of mutations and just how many times seduction has saved our ass. Also, it has worked as a long term solution on multiple occasions.

She also spends her time taking care of our money to some degree, or do you not remember that event a few threads back?

This is before mentioning that she cleans up after our wives when they break things: making new, better, banisters for our home and such.

How about the fact we have also brought her on adventures? Where she performed well for someone without any military experience?

Another thing. She does not "play blacksmith". She has produced a chain necklace for us, a set of armour for her self and various other metal objects.

Plus she does athletic things too, going on runs and shit with us or lifting weights. In fact she is a major reason why or primary home has a large gym.

I swear there was more but I would need to reread the archives to be certain.

Holy fuck anons.

Let's just all agree that Liz, Chrysoula, and Frankizka are the best waifus so far, and that you don't want to lose them.

I'd also like to point out that Chrysoula compared to Frankizka or Elizabeth isn't as well educated (though she is more in other ways, since she was trying to become strategian and also has some minor education in other things from being taught at home.) and that she's not going to be able to catch all the daemons/help your economy directly/shit like that. At most, she'd be able to help you understand Greek tactics and strategy, and that's close to being it unless anons wanted to fuck around with mutagens or whatever. She's not going to be as "politically" useful as Frankizka or Elizabeth, unless anons wanted to kill her father so she'd become an Archon.

Anyways... Final roll call for what anons want to do since I've lost track of everything through the autism. (And I might even study a bit more of Rome a bit with all the links.)
>>
>...I um... I love you too? Give her a hug..

>Let's just all agree that Liz, Chrysoula, and Frankizka are the best waifus so far, and that you don't want to lose them.
I can agree to that problem is everyone else seemingly thinks Ren is some sort of devout catholic and should only have one wife, only think of one women and shit.

> She's not going to be as "politically" useful as Frankizka or Elizabeth, unless anons wanted to kill her father so she'd become an Archon.
She is a very useful political tool if you know how to use her. Seeing as she can get us the support of Minotaur at a moments notice should we need it.

>Anyways... Final roll call for what anons want to do since I've lost track of everything through the autism. (And I might even study a bit more of Rome a bit with all the links.)

>>
>>1530971
>just remember, there's a reason marriage and monogamy exist.
Marriage exists because of the need to assure that your children are your children and to simplify inheritance laws. We have a defined heir to the throne so that isn't a problem and Liz is too loyal to cheat on us so long as we love her enough.

As to monogamy, that mostly comes from a religious outlook that was popularised by christian / jewish institutions and people. Along with it granting greater societal stability and genetic diversity by ensuring all people have a good chance of reproducing.

As to the your vs you're thing, that was just because I was pissed off with how he was acting and wanted to antagonise him. I'm human and I thus do dumb shit because it makes me feel better, so what?

As to acting smug? I am by my measures victorious. I presented logical evidence by independent sources which agree with my point, from multiple nations, groups and even eras. All agreeing with my outlook on the issue.

Also cancer like that didn't bring down Rome by any measure. We are on the internet. You can read your messages over and over checking for spelling mistakes and other such errors and fix them without anyone knowing. There is little excuse for failing to do so except being rushed or tired. Thus I, in my tired and angry state, decided against my better judgement which is usually to be quiet since the message was still understandable and instead to point it out to him. As I was infuriated by the tone he was taking with me.

Considering how badly he misread what I wrote at the time, it was entirely appropriate.

I stated that Liz couldn't do any sorts of damage we couldn't fix EXCEPT burning down a city. Which would be out of character for her. He took this for some reason as me saying that I would burn down her cities. Somehow.

I can provide links if you don't believe me.

Choose one to go to.

>The Horus Heresy. (A musical)
>The Iron Cage. (Opera)
>The Jolly Halls Of Terra (A choir preformance by the Ecclesiarchy.)
>The Lone Guardsman (A drama)
>The Inquisitor of Melourn (A play)

I might vaguely remember that Liz was writing a screenplay ornthat she was interested in one.

The Lone Guardsman it is.

Liz seems a bit interested in this, and doesn't seem to dislike it.

There's also an... Very interesting concession stand, apparently manned by the Ecclessiarchy. It seems like they're funding all these plays.

DON'T FUCKING BUY FROM THEM. THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE MY SIGNATURE SAUCE FOR FUCK'S SAKE, NOT TO MENTION.

You have about 495,000 money anons, and you see LIz eyeing the concession stand somewhat hungrily.

How much to spend on the concession stand?

>Side with Khorne, don't buy anything. (Khorne will like this, for siding with his brand over their brand. Liz will be quite disappointed though.)
>Try to sneak in food. (If caught, you'll get kicked out.)
>...Spend an amount of money. (Your average noble orders five-thousand at the concession stand. A peasant would order one-hundred at it! Decide how much to spend.)

You spend 5,000, which pleases Liz.

The play itself seems to be about the lone survivor of a Guardsman regiment, trying to bravely fight back against the Chaos forces that have conquered the planet he's fighting on.

Roll me a 1d20+3 to see how much you and Liz enjoy this.

+3 if you can find a way to get comfortable be loving towards Liz...

When she gets frightened, which is inevitable, pull her towards our chest.

"See, a gaurdsman is kinda like a foot soldier. And chaos in this reality is sorta like a bad drug trip that has physically manifested and tries to bend reality to it's ideal. These soldier, guardsmen, serve as a standing military to fight the creatures that come out of chaos when they decide to attack. Their loyalty is towards the emperor of man, a man of legendary power and talent, currently on life support on his throne, a shame too, he actually carved out such a strong enough empire that they were able to make entire planets like this."

"Well gaurdsmen don't usually survive very long when they loose a world, if they do it would definitely be something of an epic. Chances are he'll die or be corrupted by chaos at the end of it. But then again I was wrong about the Muslims being behind the bombing back at Stockholm."

"Now is a good a time as any to explain where, or rather when, we are to you Liz.

Welcome to, admittedly in an alternate dimension, the late 40th millennium AD. To one of innumerable planets united under the single banner: that of humanity, of civilisation, of order and of the Imperium of mankind. A horrible yet necessary unity for this the darkest era to have ever been yet not the darkest yet to come.

A unity besieged on all sides by similarly if not far more so numerous forces: traitors, aliens, heretics, mutants and many other such threats including examples from humanity's prime: when they were gods compared to most. Yet that age of science, progress, wisdom, learning and prosperity ended long ago and even now their civilisation spirals downwards like the embers of a dying bonfire.

In this world, a human is far from the smartest or the strongest or even the most common race. Yet it is through sacrifices of life and of much more they slow the dying of the bonfire, that they spare their worlds death to their enemies hands even if only for a few decades at most: Irreplaceable technology, destroyed; perfect worlds, razed and desecrated; entire solar systems of humanity, killed or kidnapped or enslaved or sacrificed.

In this world, guardsmen are the best of the PDF or planetary defensive forces. Forcibly conscripted or willingly joining, they charge out across the galaxy to fight every threat that presents itself to man and, all too often, die to a man. Yet even now, as we speak, millions and millions take up arms to defend their homes, their people and their Imperium. Against foes who are far stronger in every way.

The only respite of humanity being the second greatest gift of their god emperor: genetically modified super-soldier version of humans to act as the bulwark of humanity, yet even these heroes are only a small number compared to their enemies and their numbers barely maintain against the endless waves. Not to mention that a number of them betrayed the emperor and humanity and cavort with their enemies now.

Even now as we speak, countless worlds and cultures are silenced. Countless screams echo into the void from the dark capital of the fallen empire of the Eldar as their few sane brothers hide on their worldships and stare into the future trying to find a path to salvation.

This is a fairly common story: the lone survivor against insurmountable odds, success unknown yet they 'soldier' onward. Yet in the Imperium it only goes one of two ways I imagine: success or death yet to them it really will be success or success. As he will either live to fight another day or die in service to their god emperor and travel to the afterlife to sit alongside him for all eternity in a perfect world. I doubt they will show the third possibility: him betraying the god emperor and stepping out of his great light and embracing that twisted darkness of chaos like so many actually do, their bodies twisting with dark and malignant energies."
>>
>>1531994
Now for the rest of the bonuses:

Snuggle. Take advantage of her...softer regions.

Feed her by hand.

"Personally I have always cared for the guardsmen, such a brave group of religious fundamentalists and fools. To stand tall in this world is a rare feat and they achieve it often."

Alright, back. I'm just playing Soulstorm in the background so expect large delays as I spam guardsmen.

You of course, introduce Liz to the 40th millenium, anno domini. You quietly explain to her the events of what's going on, and she seems a little frightened by the well... Very dark nature of this dimension.

"Liz, let me give you an idea of the scale of the wars we are dealing with.

You know the Americans have their nuclear weapons? You know how they could kill one of us if they detonated within a few miles with us in our dragon form? Well in this world there exists weapons which can, literally, crack planets into asteroid belts and ships so big that their crews measure in the millions.

Another example, in this world I am at best a moderate threat to some of the weaker factions. They wield weapons which we would call science fiction: fusion lances, plasma launchers, rail-guns and laser cannons. Things so powerful they can destroy entire mountains in one volley.

We are not strong here. Here there are beings which can rip you limb from limb while taking pleasure from it. Here they are beings which are so disease ridden they are immortal and passively infect all around them. Here there are people who can with their minds rip 15 mile long ships in orbit in half with a thought. Here there are beings which literally mind-control entire cities to fight for them. Here there are beings that can enter your mind and force you to live out your worst nightmares for all eternity. Here there are people who can see the future. Here there are people who literally can. Not. Die.

We can't do anything to stop what is happening and to be frank us trying would just result in our world being worse off. This world will resolve itself as it must and as it will. Either with their god emperor rising from his throne of death and decay and bringing that fate to his enemies or whenever earth finally falls to chaos or to the tyranids or to the other races.

Trust me when I say I am understanding in why you want to help these people but we must focus on our own dimension first. Then we can work on here."

I wonder what antics they'll have gotten into while we were away and what expenses we will have to pay...

"...That's true..."

Roll me a 1d20+6 for how embarrassed Elizabeth is, just from this conversation and what your saying to her.

+3 if you can talk more about shaping the terrain simply just by tumbling...
+2 if you can be very impressed by her breast's city destroying tendencies.

Driver it is.

You of course, get introduced to the Equites tank.

These tanks are very costly to the Empire, and it is a sign of high responsibility that someone volunteers for the driver position, which makes you usually share the same fate as the tank. It is expected that the driver oftentimes "go down with it". Anything else is considered cowardice or sometimes even treason.

The tank itself has a few unique things about it. The engine is exclusively made for these tanks, and can go as fast as 50mph... But they take a long time to repair or be replaced, and be fragile.

There's also two main structual weaknesses in the tank.

The turret itself lacks the armor to take a direct hit from most other types of weapons, and the barrel itself can be easily destroyed by a well-placed explosion. Along with that, the ammunition is placed up by the turret, meaning a penetrating shell in the turret usually spells ill for the crew.

The tank however, has strong 60mm strong armor in the front, and it's treads are bulletproof. It also has spaced armor to protect the treads and protect against some tanks.

The tank however, can bring along a high amount of ammo. About 100 shells.

Choose how much to bring anons.

Having 0 shells means you have no chance for your ammunition to explode if it gets hit. If you have 100 shells and you get hit, you'll have a 25% of detonation.

After you get a quick briefing to your tank, you are also told to attend a briefing for what types of threats you might face on the field of battle.

Do anons want to customize their tank slightly?

>Customize the tank. (Select to either customize the paintjob/camo, try to change the armor, cannon, machinegun ammo, and what ammo to bring along.)
>Don't do anything, and instead attend the briefing about hostile threats your tank might face.

I'm pretty sure I know what we're going to face but should probably get specifics on the enemies.
>>
>>1533603
This, proper positioning sounds more important than fancy shit. Get 25 AP and 25 HE. I'm just going to guess that based off our mutual combined arms mmofps that HEAT is useless.
>>
>>1533606
I agree with this, except for maybe the wolf. Maybe thunderbolts or spears would be a design. Like have 3 spears painted on facing the front of the tank.
>>
You of course go to the briefing.

You are to be sent up against some small hobgoblin tribe up north armed with Drow equipment. They're acting as a bit of a resistance movement and have taken to terrorizing the countryside and attempting to form an alliance against the Roman Empire, and are to be made an example of. This is what's predicted you'll be up against.

Predicted Enemy Armor

MM-9 Storm

The MM-9 is a mass produced Drow tank, with weak armor, and a 38mm autocannon. It's armor is 40mm, and your tank will absolutely tear it to shreds in a direct hit. It's capable of penetrating an Equite's armor from the sides, but has almost no chance to penetrate from the front, save under prolonged fire. It also has a coaxial machinegun against infantry, but is known to overheat quickly and is rather unnaccurate. A Gauss Machinegun can also penetrate the armor easily.

Enemy Anti-Tank

AP-4 Lolth's Bolt: A rather small but hard hitting anti-tank gun. It's small enough to be put into a house and fired, but is a single-shot weapon and sports a HEAT round, and will usually penetrate up close and to the side. It is disposable.

Enemy Infantry

Hobgoblin Streztanaol are the predicted enemies. They are reputed to be very well-disciplined and usually are even more disciplined then a Roman. They lack much in the way of training, and lack any AT equipment...

Special Orders.

All survivors are to be publically executed after the battle to be made examples of. Survivors of the family's are to be enslaved as an example to the tribals.

Here's the crew.

A skill rating of 1-5 is how effective a crew member is. Throughout the battles Revenaris will do, the more experienced they will get and better at their stations they'll be.

Lower ranked crewmen usually have worse morale, which ranges from "Treasonous" to "Impetous".

Crewmembers have also three hidden stats. Melee Skill, in case someone tries to breach their workstation, Psychic Defense, in case "psychic bullshit" happens, and Vitality, which represents their hitpoints.

Select a Gunner.

>Calidorus Pilus: The son of a businessbold who works at a highly wealthy tailoring company, and is expected to carry on the name of the family tradition of tailoring. (Rank: Private. 1 Skill. Free. Cowardly.)
>Adrius Perennis: The son of a lifetime legionary who lost his life in a battle against the Gnomes, and was sent home in a closed-casket funeral. Filled with rage and fury, he's known to be a somewhat over-the-top recruit who is also good at hand-to-hand combat.(Rank: Private. 1 Skill. 500 Requisition. Brave. Gets +1 Skill against Gnomes, and becomes Impetous. Has above average Hand-to-Hand skill.)
>Robertus Fabricius. Son of a farmer who was kidnapped by the Drow, and his heart was sent back to their family in a box. Is terrified to death of the Drow, and will do his best to avoid conflict against them. Is otherwise a natural gunner, and is noted to learn fast. (Rank: Private. 2 Skill. 700 Requisition. Normal. 30 HE, 17 AP, and 3 smoke it is.

You of course, get armed and ready for duty...

You get on your armor, which seems to be a rather flexiable yet comfortable set of black legionary armor, with a blue tunic underneath it. You notice that the armor itself is mostly for aesthetics, and underneath it is a bulletproof jacket. Your legs also seem coverered in bulletproof armor, and the fancy visor that you put over your head also seems to double as a radio headset... It's also remarkably sturdy. It's likely bulletproof as well, though you'd like to not try it out. Your snout and nose is somewhat still exposed though, and you have to admit, the kobold officer helm is really nice... It's a nice shade of black, and you feel it a bit...

After that, your crew hops in your tank, and you begin to drive out...

The deployment area is about an hour ahead, and you of course have to cross a bridge. You are being deployed alongside five other Equites tanks, and two divisions of Legionaries...

Of course, it seems like you'll be driving through a city on the way there, and luckily the dress uniforms of the kobolds also double as the official uniform...

That's when you're told to go slower, as you take a brief "parade" through the city...

The city itself has been recently "reclaimed" after a rather bloody revolt and the populace still hostile towards the Empire.

Since you are the "commander" of the vehicle, you are expected to be in the turret position and be saluting out towards the civilians, while another crewmember takes over.

What do anons?

>Follow protocol, and stand up.
>...That's a bit too risky. Stay driving. (Your crew might think you craven!)

You of course, stand up in the tank, and it seems the local Legate is in a sort of armored jeep giving a speech. Lots of rather angered civilians seem to be booing or throwing things, and the city's garrison is indeed holding them back. It seems like there's also a band playing a rather favorable parade tune.

The legate of course, gives his speech. He's your commanding officer, meaning you have to listen...

"Brave Romans! We march to battle, as pitiful as our tribal foes may be! But know this, one of you is worth more than any number of these barbarians!"

The men cheer as they march, and the Legate continues.

"Now, you know I have a reputation for cunning in battle! I do not intend this to be a fair fight, and we are going to fall upon them without warning! We will strike at their weakest points! This won't be a battle - it'll be a kick up the toga!"

At this point, the parade leaves the city and continues on the road to the tribe as the men cheer the Legate on.

You cheer him on and get back in the tank.

After half an hour of driving, the legions fall behind and your sent ahead...

You get orders from the radio that apparently the Hobgoblins have erected some barricades to slow you down, and the commander suspects an ambush or covering fire for the Hobgoblin retreat... Either way, he wants you to clear out the barricades.

The other tanks drive up to the barricades, which are raised enough to prevent infantry from moving through it...

You fire another shell. As soon as it hits and explodes, a small amount of explosions go off. It seems like the hobgoblins planted some landmines, which you luckily managed to trigger...

It takes a moment for a mine defusal crew to come up, and eventually the way is cleared for you to move through.

The shell hits the ground and explodes, and detonates some other type of explosives. It causes a chain reaction, going on for quite a while under a fury of explosions, and eventually coming to an end.

You seemed to have cleared out a minefield. Nice work!

Chrysoula it is.

Meanwhile, in Stockholm.

As Chrysoula.

You of course, sit in bed, curled up tight and trying to stay warm.

You haven't seen anyone but Renexizious's helots for a few days, and you miss him already... You kind of were hoping when he got back he could cuddle with you. He was cold to the touch, but on the otherhand, everything just felt so much better when he was there, curled up beside you...

You sigh a bit emotionally. Honestly, you just want to get out, run around... Do things. Not sit here and wait.

Not to mention the bed hates you. Probably from how much you weigh maybe... You do pack on the pounds rather quickly while laying around in a hospital bed.

Not to mention a lot of Renexizious's soldiers are off on holiday for "Easter Sunday", even a lot of the servants get time off...

...You kind of wish someone would make you something warm like hot chocalate, that'd be great...

You begin to stand up and after painfully groaning, you put on some rather tight clothes... Not a lot is in your size, though you are happy for having some...

You go down the stairs (cursing in Greek as you descend) when you notice something rather... Weird. The couch cushions have all been tossed to the ground. Maybe Frankizka lost the TV controller or something.

Strange.

This of course, draws your interest.

Roll me a 1d20+4 anons.

Speaking about stuff that we don't entirely know about, there's still one Elven Dominion base left in Denmark. Instead of slaughtering the remnants of the Elves there, I think Ren or Liz should go there to actually find out about their agenda or background. There are dynamics about them which we've never touched about. For example, the Drow who bombed Stockholm a while back were going to out the blame on normal Elvea.

His head is now little more then a spinal cord, which you slam into the ground, dowsing the floor with his blood. Not yet done, you grab him by the legs, and whirl him around STRAIGHT into one of the cells here and THROWING HIM HEADFIRST INTO IT.

His body smashes through the solid concrete wall, the glass, and hits the other side with visible cracks appearing on it, blood utterly covering the wall. The corpse of the man is so bruised, so deformed, and so heavily mangled that you could fucking play basketball with it.

You grab the now "meatball" and literally smash ANOTHER table with it, this time for fun.
