Last night was quite chaotic, what with Kathy getting arrested and thrown into the brig. Hopefully she’s out later today though. Right now, you’ve got two priorities, making sure Jeep Jockey wins his showdown and getting that golden tank out of the ground. When your crewmembers caught wind of this… “There’s a gold tank under the Marquis de La Fayette?” says Winona. You nod. “First I’ve heard of it.”“Only legends and rumors,” says Ingrid. “I’m not surprised the Army would try to cover up the fact that some Mary Jane smoking hippies managed to steal it and bury it to spite them. But if you ask me, it’s a whole load of hogwash. It’s most likely just a cache of gold, not a tank of gold. You know, El Dorado?”“Well, I think it could be a golden tank,” says Jospehina. “Who knows, maybe the Army would let us keep it, oui?” You all laugh a little at that suggestion. “What? They could! A golden tank would be really cool!”“Yeah, as window dressing,” you state. You reach for your hat. You reach for your hat again. What the- “Where’s my hat?”Stack bursts out from behind you, your hat planted firmly on her head. She throws her arms up, grinning. “Hey, I’m Ellie! Howdy, howdy, howdy!”You sigh. “Ah ha. Ah ha.” You swipe it off her head, glaring at her. “Gimme that.”“Relax, Ellie!” Stack grins, folding her arms. “Say, tomorrow’s All-Star voting for commanders. Plus some permits to discuss as well.”“Take your time, Ellie!” Winona nudges you with her elbow. “Don’t worry, we’ll be there to see you excavate it!” You smile at Winona. Aw, that’s sweet of her.Right then, off to work then.--Admiral Nimitz naps on your desk when you arrive. Tessa, Athena, Hilda, and Mulcahy are already there working on their things. Denise takes your coat and your hat and sets it on the rack by the door. “How’s everyone doing?” you ask.“We’re doing dandy,” says Athena. “You got practice today, right?”“Practice and then I have to dig up a gold tank,” you say. Athena stares at you. “It’s a long story. I just need the permits, can-“Tessa pulls the phone down from her ear. “I’m already in talks with some people to get the permits, don’t worry.” Oh, thanks, Tessa.Right then. > Talk with a retinue member (Tessa)> Do your work. There’s not a lot but it’s work. Before you get started on your work, you roll your chair over to Tessa. “Do you think you could get us some kind of listening device down there?”Tessa nods as she writes some notes down on a notepad. “That’s what I’m discussing with the Captain right now. The issue is that we don’t want to break up that ground immediately right before labor day.” Fair point. “Though, if they can confirm something is indeed under the ground. They can certainly allow you and a team to excavate it.”“Excellent,” you say. “How soon can they get it out there?”“Today actually,” says Tessa. “The Captain is sending a survey team that way now.” Excellent.Right then! You pick up Nimitz and place him down in your lap. “Right, I’ll get to work on stuff then.” Admiral Nimitz purrs loudly as you slide back over to your desk. Before you do so however…“Ellie.” You turn your head to Denise. She holds a phone up, pointing to your’s. “You have Commander Caldwell on two.” Oh?You pick up the phone. “Hello?”“Say hey, Elodie Zumwalt,” says Lyra. “Word in the Command Tower is that you’re planning on excavating El Panzerado or something under the statue of the Marquis.”“Yeah, word spread that fast?” you ask.“Pretty much,” says Lyra. “Another thing though. I’ll be attending today’s practice too, with my own crew. I’ll be joining the NATO team for the tournament.” Really? That’s amazing! And… honestly, kind of frightening. I’ll talk to you later.” With that, you hang up. Right, Tankery with Lyra. That will be something. Hopefully she’s not too smug. You can’t deal with that all the time.Regardless, it was time to work. They weren’t able to confirm that it was a tank, but it certainly is the size of one. And the metallurgic construction does confirm solid gold.”“Wait, you’re kidding.” Athena walks up. “There’s a solid gold tank under the statue!?”Hilda slides up, determined. “I say we get it and melt it down for ingots. Maybe LGA might need an emergency reserve of gold.” You roll your eyes. “What? You don’t keep emergency gold with you?”“I was raised poor, Hilda. > Deploy the excavation team.--The team of fifty girls were ready and at your disposal, and behind them the vehicle they would be using to excavate the tank as well. They salute you. At the forefront were your XOs for the operation, Hadley Carver and Athena Kotsiopoulos. “We’re ready to go!” says Hadley.“Good, good.” And at your side was a very happy and enthusiastic Perrine Hobart. “Um, Perrine. Could you clarify something for me?” She tilts her head as you point out the vehicles. They were Jagdtiger with a giant drill attached to its front. “Why did you stick a drill on a Jagdtiger again?”“It was an Unlimited experiment, cheri,” she explains. “Surprisingly, it was actually very effective if you ever got ambushed by it. But we could never figure out how to use it properly. So we use it in excavations like this! I’m happy to loan it off to you all!” She pulls her goggles down. “I’ll drive though!”Fair, you might as well let the crazy one drive the crazy tank.Hadley says, “We can’t drill inside the courtyard though. What the Captain told us is that we have to tunnel our way under the school then pull it out ourselves.”“And for that!” One of Hadley’s crewmembers holds up a canary in a cage. “We have this!”“What’s that?” you ask.“It’s a canary! If the canary dies while we’re tunneling, we’ll know the tunnel is cursed.”You squint a bit. “Um.” You look to Athena. She shrugs in response. I don’t want it dying and all of you deciding to run out of the tunnel right before we hit the jackpot.” They salute, understanding. “Right, let’s go then!” You clap your hands. “Chop, chop! Perrine, fire up the drill!”“With pleasure!” Perrine climbs, then spins up the drill. With a pit already pre-dug for it, it dips down. With a loud of the engines, the drill starts spinning up, whining and screaming. Everyone stands back a good distance as Perrine guides the drill downwards. And in a few short seconds, earth and dirt gets thrown up and around the drill, smashing through the earth. You cover your hands with your ears.“Quite loud, isn’t it!?” yells Athena.“That’s how you know it works!” Hadley shouts back. “Right, let’s get the support columns ready!”Once the drill had managed to carve a good sized tunnel beneath the school and dug a good distance towards the Marquis, you had to carve things out by hand. There were a couple of troubles. For one thing, you had to tunnel quite far down to avoid collapsing the basements. And according to the survey scans, the tank wasn’t that deep down. So at some point, you’d have to dig upwards. That’ll be a safety hazard.Secondly, time. You had practice later today. But you hadn’t figured out if you’ll be able to make it in time considering the scale of labor for digging this tank out.Hm…> Call your crew to practice without you. I might just be an hour or maybe 30 minutes or so away from getting a gold tank. So if you could delay practice today for a little bit…?”“No, sure, that’s fine,” says Griselda. “I need to do something with Salome today anyway, she just showed up. She wants to paint me apparently. Hopefully it’s not anything lewd.” You roll your eyes. “Your crew though wanted to go over and see how you were doing, so they’ll be on their way.” Oh, right. You forgot about them. Darn it. “Anyway, see ya, Ellie.”Right then. You fold your arms. “How’s the canary?” you call out.Hadley holds up the cage. The canary tweets happily. “She’s all good, Commander!” Perfect. At least there’ll be no tank of a cursed-A body suddenly falls from the ceiling. “AAAHHH!” Everyone screams at the blackened, dirty, body that just fell in their midst. “IT’S A STIFF!” You stare at it. Oh. It’s a fucking dead body. Um. You should probably call the Hall Monitors, uh…“Wait a second.” Athena steps up, then taps it. “It’s just a mannequin.” You all look at it. Yeah, it’s dirty, rotted, old mannequin.“Who buries a mannequin under the school!?” yells Hadley in fright.“Someone with a sick sense of humor probably,” says Athena.“Hey!” One of the girls calls out, then rips something from the wall. She holds it up, revealing a very worryingly bomb-shaped object. “It’s a bomb!”…Okay. Definitely call the Hall Monitors.--“Hey, Ellie!” Winona, Ingrid, Stack, and Josephina step into the tunnel shaft you’ve created. “Wow! Look at all this!” says Winona. With everyone taking pickaxes and shovels to the dirt, you might find that tank in good time.“ELLIE!” Kathy Wheeler has shown up. She bursts through the tunnel entrance, looking to you. “Have we found it yet!? Is the tank good!?”“Hold your horses,” you say. You gently push her away to a more comfortable position. “We’re looking for it now. We’re close. We might even-“ You hear a loud banging noise. You all look over to see Hadley striking her pickaxe.“I think I hit something!” she says. You all run over to it. Hadley, Athena, and Denise brush and scrape away at the surrounding Earth. And shining through now was something beyond your wildest imagination. “… get the shovels,” you mutter. Everyone starts digging all around it. It takes no more than ten or fifteen minutes to unearth it.But now before you was something you never thought existed. A solid gold Sherman M4A3 tank.[1/2]

The gold is still quite shiny even after all these years of being buried. “Oooh… it’s so pretty, so shiny!”“It’s also property of the United States government.” You all turn around to see Hall Monitors O’Keere and O’Keefe, backed up by a familiar man from way back when. “Agent Muldoon, I represent the US government.” He holds up his official badge, flanked by more Hall Monitors and special agents. “We’ve come to reclaim the tank. He looks down at you, looking skeptical at the idea. “I know this isn’t how you imagined spending your days taking things the US government forgot about, but this is something LGA could have and the US Government could benefit from too.”“How so?” he asks.“Well.” You shrug. You look over to Kathy. “Kathy. This golden tank was used as a publicity stunt to help drum up support for the US Military. That’s a piece of history right there. And what would the US government plan on doing with this tank?”“Melt it down for ingots,” he states.“Oh. We had the same idea too,” says Hilda. Athena elbows her, quietening her down.“Regardless, don’t you think a piece of history like this deserves better?” you ask. “I know it’s insanely valuable, but it’s not like anybody’s going to try and rob us. We’re a schoolship! We’re not going anywhere fast, we have the Hall Monitors, we have the US Navy escort, nobody’s going to steal this thing.” Agent Muldoon rubs his chin, thinking on it. Think about all the things we could buy with the worth of this tank! I could probably own half of LGA!” She gasps. “Imagine me, owning half of a schoolship!” She starts dreaming wistfully of it. “Oooohh, so many girls and doggies!”Agent Muldoon turns around. “We’ve decided on a compromise.” Oh? “We’ll compensate the school, and your NATO team, for finding the tank. And we will allow personally oversee the display of the tank on LGA itself, at the discretion of the Captain and the Senior Class President.”“How much money?” you ask. They stare at you, then quickly turn around to discuss again. After a few seconds, they say, “Thirty million dollars.” WHAT. “Of course, that’ll have to be taxed, it’ll be divided amongst your schoolship’s class treasuries as well…” Muldoon takes his phone out, pulling up a calculator on it. “Your NATO team personally stands to gain a sum of around 750,000 dollars.”Kathy glares at them. “And what do I get!?”“What do you mean?” asks Muldoon.“Me and Ellie have been finding all the treasures here on LGA, risking our necks out!” she says. “I think I deserve a little personal compensation.”Agent Muldoon folds his arms. “You help curate the museum here on LGA, yes?” Kathy nods. “I’ll see to it that the US Government see about renovating the place out of pocket to modern standards.” Kathy blinks at that.Kathy pulls you aside. “It’s a good deal, but I don’t buy it. What’s taken for granted in modern tanks is being able to sight guns without having it be constantly thrown off target by braking or accelerating. Now though, it was about coordination with the driver and the gunner. “Alright, Josephina, meter forward.” She propels forward around the berm. “Stop.” The tank halts. “Winona, traverse right.” The turret traverses right. “Alright, Josephina, slowly go.” You start cornering around the berm. “Stop. Backwards.”A shot suddenly deflects off the berm. “Whoa!” Stack, who was watching from out of the loader’s hatch, ducks back inside.“Keep going back,” you say. The tank backs up completely behind the berm. That shot came from Meryl Hoffmeister, who was helping the training along. “Alright, Lyra, Kathy, how are you two doing back there?”Kathy, who took over the Swedish Stridsvagn m/42, was not doing so well. For one thing she had somehow managed to turn the tank onto its side. “Not good,” says Kathy. “The freshman somehow managed to drive us onto our side!”“Ah shut up, Kathy!” says her driver. “I bet you think Cope was the guy who won the Bone Wars!”“Oh, don’t you start about the Bone Wars!” says Kathy. The gunner yells, “Yeah, you might spark a debate about dinosaurs SOMEHOW having feathers!”“FUCK YOU! DINOSAURS DO NOT HAVE FEATHERS!” yells the loader. “If they have feathers than the T-Rex was a scavenger!”… Interesting conversation.Meanwhile, over in the newly completed Panther Ausf. D, things were going slightly more smoothly with Lyra and her crew. “Watch it, watch it!” says Lyra. They strike their barrel against the berm, causing the turret to creak as it grinds from the impact. “Ah, we struck the barrel against something!”Stack leans out of the hatch again, shaking her head. “Poor newbies.”“They’ll learn,” you say.> + 5 TALENT TO ALL CREWMEMBERS--Practice got itself out of the way smoothly. You all exit the showers. “Aaahh…” Kathy and her freshmen all wearily help themselves out of the showers. “Next time, I should drive!” says Kathy.“You drive?” says Kathy’s driver. “You probably think electric cars were SUPPOSED to be the primary mode of power for cars if gasoline hadn’t suddenly taken over!”You fold your arms, sighing. It’s a bit late. You should get an early rest for tomorrow since it is the showdown.Though…> Have a chat with one of the visiting commanders. > Go visit Jeep Jockey at the hangar.--It was getting pretty late by the time you arrived at the hangar. Denise was kind enough to drive you and drop you off. She tried to insist on coming with you, but you told her to stay with the Kettenkrad. For now, you were just visiting. Yes, just visiting. “Jack.” You find Jack passing by. He smiles at you. “Jeep Jockey in?”“Yeah, he’s in the hangar,” he says. “We just finished painting his plane up.” Oh, neato. He leans over to you, grinning smugly. “Came to give him a good luck kiss?”“Eugh. As if.” You step past him. He snickers as he walks away. Hmph, good luck kiss. Jeep Jockey’s gonna have to earn a kiss from you. Not that you’re going to even consider or entertain the thought of it! He’ll never earn a kiss from you, the pathetic, vain, little mink. With that though, you step into the hangar. And boy was the Buffalo painted out. No longer was it painted the navy blue. It was now painted steel grey, with the wings a bright yellow with white stripes running diagonally across their length. What really caught your attention though was the new decal painted by the cockpit. It was you. Rather, it was you sitting on a puffy cloud, wearing some flowing white robes hugging your body and showing off the curves of your hips, breasts, and waist (without showing much skin in fact.) You have a gentle smile on your face. Around the decal was the title: “HEAVENLY BODY”. Wow, that’s quite weird to see yourself there on-“Ellie!”“AH!” You yelp, turning around to see Jeep Jockey. He yelps back, jumping back a little. He holds up his hands, still covered in paint flecks. “Ah! Don’t scare me like that!”“Sorry, sorry!” he says. “Jesus Christ!” He runs his fingers along in a rag to clean them up. “Well, um. Nice to see you visiting before the showdown tomorrow anyway at least.”“I figure I should, for moral support,” you state.“Yeah, yeah.” He smiles a little. “Girl like you coming to visit a guy like me. I still don’t believe it myself.” He steps up to the plane. “You like it? Just finished painting it.” He looks to you, very expectant.> Boast> Neutral> Polite
>>1373510>BoastJust like I asked for. Nice work Jockey!
>>1373510> BoastIts perfect. A dignified painting for a gentleman's plane. As opposed to lewds for pervs.
> BoastYou smile. “I love it.” He grins sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck. “You really caught my good side. And you didn’t really fall back on uh… needlessly exposing skin or anything lewd.”“Oh, no, of course not,” he says. “I’m not like the other guys, I don’t ask girls for a painting then bare their tits out for the world to see. Not to say that- you know, whatever. It’s… you like it, yeah?” You nod, giggling a bit. “Good, good. But um, yeah. Tomorrow, showdown and what not!” He gives you two thumbs up. “Gonna be great, gonna be exciting!”“You’re nervous.”“Shitting myself, yeah,” he says quickly, his grin dropping. He turns around, pacing in place. “I mean, a showdown is one thing, a showdown in front of my team? Against one of the best flying aces in the sky? And in front of you too? Oh man.” He shakes his head.“It’s alright to be nervous, I’m not expecting a knight in shining armor after all,” you say.“Eh, you deserve one.” He places his hands on the wing. You cock your head. He what? “I mean… I can go up there, I can fly. But… these nerves are killing me, I-… it’s hard to stay calm. I’m tracking through all the possibilities.” He shrugs. “None of them involve me getting to shoot down the Beast.”“Well, they should,” you say. “At least one should. Everything’s possible if you work at it.” He’s quiet at that, looking down.> “No matter what happens, you're a good guy.”> “I’ve gotten you this far, make me proud.”> “Don’t be such a wuss. > “I’ve gotten you this far, make me proud.”“I’ve gotten you this far, Jock.” You smile a little. “Make me proud, alright? If nothing else, put up a good fight.”He looks down again, then nods slowly. “Yeah.” He takes a deep breath. “Yeah. Alright.”“Feel better?” you ask. He pushes away from the plane then starts walking towards you. Hm? He keeps walking on over to you. Oh, Jeep Jockey. A little close now. You step back a bit. That is- that’s close. Too close. He grabs your arms. I- Oh God. Oh God! Is he going to kiss you!? Y- you’re not ready! This isn’t how you wanted your first kiss to be like! No, no, this isn’t- You don’t know how to kiss a boy! Wait, stop, stop! Time out!He hugs you, tight.…Oh.Ha. Okay. He just wanted a hug, okay. Hehe.Your heart is going to explode.“Thank you.” He sighs, holding you tightly against him. He probably feels how intense your heartbeat is right now. He pulls away from you, then looks at you, confused. “Ellie, your face is all red. Are you okay?”“Y- yeah.” You cough, clearing your throat. “It’s just a little hot in here as all. I should get going. Good luck with the showdown. I’ll be there to see it.” He grins, then nods at you. “Well. Good night.” You turn around, then stub your foot against a toolbox. “Ow! Agh…” You keep on walking. “Good night!”He waves goodbye to you. “Good night, Ellie!”Yeah, yeah. Good night.Oh… this is so embarrassing. You place your hands on your cheeks. Why is your face so red!? Ugh! Pathetic, pathetic!

>>1373787Thanks for the fun, boss.don't sweat the sessions. we'll wait warmly while you get things settled
Pastebin updated: https://pastebin.com/bUU2v0z8Additionally, I've taken the liberty of shortlisting some vehicles we can draw from Fort Benning's collection (which is where we'll be getting that free tank from) that I feel would be particularly good additions to our current lineup: > M7B2 Priest (would require a downgrade to the B1 model or exemption from NATO as the B2 is a 1952 modification): We've been struggling with not having any counter-battery capabilities lately, so adding this to the lineup could definitely help aleviate that.> A34 Comet: Not much to say, would give us a very, very scary fast-moving, hard-hitting flanking force between Oliver, the Challenger, the Hellcat and this, especially if/when we take Oliver to a Comet himself.> M24 Chaffee: Similar appeal to the Comet, but it's squishier and less well armed witht he upside of being faster. Both are about the same level of sneaky (Comet's longer, but the Chafee's taller).> Sherman (M4A4, M4A3 (76) W HVSS, or M4 105mm VVSS, probably others also available): Depending on which we pick we either get another solid medium tank or in the case of the 105, a weaker line tank that can also pull indirect/bombardment duties in a pinch, though it will be inferior in the role compared to the Priest. A4 has the benefit of being the right model for future Firefly conversion. > Panther: 'Nuff said.If you're wondering why no T29 or heavy tanks in general, I feel we have more than enough heavy tanks in the current roster and would be better off reinforcing the other aspects of the team. As for "why no Panther II?" the prototype at Fort Benning still has the Maybach 230 powering it so it's basically just a more heavily armoured but slower Panther, and see my previous sentence on heavies.
>>1374617Given NATO rulings, could we get a better engine in the Panther 2 and if so, just how good would that engine be?
>>1374784There was a proposed turbine engine that would give it an extra 400bhp iirc, but it would've had the problem of all German WW2 jet turbines, in that it would melt itself in pretty short order.
>>1374812NATO rulings etc etc.And if the govt is going to pay for all repairs then they can fork over the cash for a new engine after every match.
>>1374825NATO rulings wouldn't allow a non-melting engine because if they did every tank would be run by infallible modern engines, and the issue isn't it wearing out post match but the chance of it self-immolating mid-match and mission killing the tank.
