It was almost a shock seeing the snow falling onto such a lush array of colorful plantlife. Jor walked alongside Sapling Slrrt down a cobblebone path with the red sun of Horizon's Drops dawn just illuminating the city. The Garden of Remembrance was finished with the help of the Armatocere, the large park filled with twisting paths that wound between copses of alien trees and plantlife. Murals and statues rose up from the brush depicting scenes of the Armada's history.Jor pointed to a mural that showed the fateful encounter of Jadyk and Lorgul facing against Sub-Admiral Estkri, "The first time Jadyk and Lorgul fought side-by-side to protect Horizon's Drop."A statue loomed nearby, a replica of Agonas original form standing stoically back to back against a clone of her Pyroclastic reforged form. A similar statue displayed the before and after Reforging of Punisher Muic.Slrrt sways as they travels alongside the human, stopping to direct a tendril to a mural showing a familiar scene and the floral ambassador drones out, "I am surprised to see this scene immortalized."Jor laughs as he looks at the image showing him and the Voidsinger Commander standing in the middle of an alien ruin meeting the Armatocere for the first time, Slrrt and their cacti guard standing opposite of them, "It was a fateful event. My first role as ambassador and the meeting of Armada and Armatocere."Moving on they see murals and engravings showing various scenes, Nekris and Jadyk fighting and slaying Ahkam, the liberation of Rukor and Bastion. A large statue of the Beast of Rukor rises out of the ground as if surfacing and a mural behind it depicting its slaying and transformation into the Fury of the Wormstar. Grand murals displaying the invasion and siege of the B'Nan system, the Predators duel with the Warbeast Rider and the arrival of Gral on the battlefield, a statue replica of the conjoined juggernaut burning with Voidflame. They pass by a trio of Stonestar standing by a series of murals and statues depicting Bastion and its liberation, the unification of the Armada and the Lavafather. They seemed focused on the portion detailing the banishment of the Stonestar living below their feet and roots, the eldest of the trio sharing the tale with the two younger stonestar born on Horizon's Drop.Jor knew there were many stories not on display, stories that the Armada would prefer to keep secret. Yet there were many blank and featureless displays and blocks of stone. The Ambassador looked toward Jor and the human, picking up on the floral body language, replies, "They are for the stories not yet told. Battles and victories not yet won, friends and enemies not yet met. They are for the future and I suspect this Garden will continue to grow and flourish for a long time."

A Sunscale Worker seems to possess little in the way of unique adaptations in comparison to their specialized kin but they do share the same near immunity to flames and heat that a Warblood is capable of. Their unique gift though is the ability to consume metallic ores or even scrap, their body metabolizing the metal into new scales made of the devoured metal. This leads to older Workers having most of their scales replaced with a variety of different metals, adding to their armor and prestige. The leaders of the Worker caste typically show off their rank by consuming only specific rare metals.Current Research>Elemental Experiments: Ongoing, possibly Dangerous>Sunscale Cloning project: Slow>Anti-Wraith Technology: Slow>Arc Drive: Slow>Sub-Space Experiments: Slow and Dangerous>Empathic Scanning: Slow>Solar Technology: Slow>Molten Weaponry: Medium>Quasiphasic Disruption: Slow, Dangerous>Large Drop Pods: Medium>Advanced Hardlight Structures: Slow>Void Reconstruction: Fast>Necrotic Viral Experiments: Medium, Dangerous>Necrotic Drive: Slow, Unpredictable>Factory Cities: Fast
>>1261020>Anti-Orbital Voidlance: An extensive study of the surviving anti-orbital voidlances of Kanda by the Think Tanks now allows their constructionyes. Yes. YES. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES ! One more step. Now I have only one question. If a asteroid is big enough, can we one of this in/on it ? Or install them in sattelite "turret" or even in the space cities defenses ?
>>1261020Unlocked:Anti-Orbital Lance: While they could be mistaken for a tower or other such building when at rest the Anti-Orbital Lances are in fact incredibly powerful weapons that rely on massive draws of energy. By projecting an intensely focused beam of elemental energy a Lance is able to strike an orbiting ship, the blast unrivaled by all but the largest and strongest capitol ships attacks. Due to the immense energy requirements an Anti-Orbital Lance can only be constructed on adequately developed worlds requiring a world of at least 10% or higher in development. The base damage of a Lance is considered Necrotic for concerns of damage resistances although the elemental type can be changed once per day as the recalibration takes an extended amount of time. Can only be constructed on planets, moons, or protoplanets. Cost: 450,000B 500,000MQuasiphasic Locking: By running a phasic field current through specially forged materials they can phase into another solid object and when the current is cut the materials fuse together into a nearly unbreakable bond. This can be applied to the construction of buildings and starships, providing a bonus to durability. The same process can be used for door-locks and other security measures increasing the difficulty of escape or breakage.Research unlocked:>Advanced Quasiphasic Materials: Medium - Further research into developing new applications for the intangible materials>Quasiphasic Weaponry: Medium - A study into weaponizing quasiphasic materialsPassive Troop upgrade:>Ferrovorous: Reconstructed units can now consume metal to reinforce and repair their armor in between battles without the need of a Cauldron. While not able to repair drastic damage it will allow a Reconstructed troop to stay out on the battlefield longer by scavenging scrap or even broken weaponry.
>>1261095On the moon of Horizon's Drop inside the Arc Temple the door to Vle'Karaks cell slide open and the serpent uncoils slightly, "Come to speak again, Lord Jadyk?" they ask and turn around, their mood quickly souring at the sight of Nekris standing there instead. The Ahkam hisses, bristling with annoyance, "What is it?" they demand brusquely.Nekris steps aside for a Dirge to push a collection of metal barrels into the room, the serpent glancing at them warily as they door slid shut when the Dirge left. The Predator moves to one of the canisters, "I am here to speak with you, Vle'Karak," he says and ignores the scoff of derision from the serpent. With a twisting motion of two of hsi four hands one of the canisters has its top twisted off by his telekinetic grasp and the smell of brine fills the room, "I heard from Lord Jadyk you enjoy these," he says while plunging a hand into the tank and the water starts thrashing.Vle'Karak tenses warily as the undead pulls his hand out, his forearm wrapped up in the tendrils of a very startled hunter squid. Prying it from his hand with a telekinetic burst he lifts it towards the snake, its tentacles writhing at the air as it dripped. Even though he had fought against the Ahkam he was still surprised by how quickly the massive serpent could move when the squid was snatched out of the air by a blur of green scales. Quickly gulping down the offering the serpent twists their coils in what could've been delight. They look down at him with his one remaining eye then at the other barrels, "What is it you want from me?"Nekris laughs, his mandibles clicking as he wrenches open another brine filled barrel, "To merely speak, Vle'Karak. I respect you prowess, you were the closest to come to destroying me, not even the Warbeast rider in defense of Kanda could harm me," he tosses another squid to the Ahkam and it was snatched from the air.The Terror coils up somewhat, staring at the undead in thought for a long moment then says in a voice cautious and full of disbelief, "I hear from Jadyk that you fought the Sunscale?"Nodding Nekris moves another barrel forward, "Indeed. They were attempting to sabotage your nieces efforts of enslaving a world," the undead General begins recounting his tale of fighting the Sunscale Divers, Vle'Karak in time speaking of his battle against a pair of Solar and Void-blessed Albino siblings and other battles while Nekris shared the bounty of Rukorian squid.

>>1261251More of the Sunscale Worker clones are awakened while new clones of Diver, Scout and Warblood begin. Another clone has been completed, a massive tank containing the comatose form of an Osjiic Warbeast, a replica of the beast that the Rider Inalt used to fight the Predator Generals. The defense of Refuge continues, reinforcing survivor camps and rescuing groups scattered across both Scatters and its moon. The shuttles and ships that the undead used seemed to retreat back to the planet Junkyard, several Pirate Clan ships added to their number after their crews were infected and turned. Ground combat continues across Scatters and its moon but reinforcements in the form of the newly crafted and designed Craw-Bombers fill the air while raining down a devastating hail of metal flechettes that riddle the zombies and ghouls unfortunate enough to be caught in their path.In the Void Temple the Revanant Generals take the Osjiic Voidsingers and Reconstruct them into new deadly forms. A pair of Disciples join the ranks, hungrily feasting on the voidflames of the Voidsingers that minutes before had been their comrades. Groups of the void-powered imperials were tossed into the Cauldrons together, their bodies broken down and reformed into the mighty forms of Void Juggernauts, the twin voices of Gral cheering out in joy at their creation. The Lavafathers colony ship floats in orbit over the volcanic work of the Drakon system, Obsidianborn and probes descending through the atmosphere to inspect their new home. Several Obsidianborn constructs already burrowing into stone or plunging into rivers of molten magma. A chunk of the massive capitol ship breaks off, glowing from reentry then slowing miraculously to land almost gently on a large island of solid stone adrift in the seas of molten and cooling stone, envirosuited Stonestar emerging to inspect the land. The crew of the Wick return to Veraga Prime with a new load of Narcotikelp and Drop Kelp, the passing inspecting patrols recognizing them from their previous visit and letting them through. Upon docking at the same pylon they were greeted by a message from the Cartel, discreetly requesting another meeting upon their arrival.A warning is filtered through to you from the Deep Rot, the undead mind pointing out how Osjiic forces seemed to be grouping in the R'Jur and D'Hrin systems in the wake of the B'Nan invasion. They also point out that Ahkam forces appear to be grouping up in both the Rolan and Tura systems, fleets emerging from Storm Gates to merge into larger groups.New Solar Arbiters are sealed inside their own private ice chambers, each one focusing to maintain the flame of Solar energy that would keep them alive. Sur-Quro at first cautious of associating with these newcomers from both the Confedration, Pirates, Ahkam and Osjiic factions but she realized she felt sympathetic to their plight and gave advice to them before they were sealed away.

They await an audience, many of them showing their version of excitement although the small handful of necrotic potentials seem less than eager for the chance. Several decide against being gifted the power of the Necrotic, knowing it would ostracize them from the rest of the Armatocere while the pale Sapling and the stunted cacti warrior seem most intrigued by the capabilities. There was much to be done an tend to. >>1261915Dont think we should try the good 'ol "trick them into fighting each other" strategy. Do that too often and they wont fall for it and will decide to gang up on us.Try to estimate if and when they attack any of our planets and if they attack at the same time, attempt to preemptively stall one of them using a fast and evasive fleet that makes it appear as if they are targeting key enemy positions. That will keep one of them occupied while we obliterate the other one. If one attacks and the other decides to get in on the action, just do the same thing.

However, if we cause an implosion of all of its gas and cause it to shrink...well, some astronomers refer to gas giants as failed stars. This would of course only be done in a sever emergency. If WE did it, the Osjic would follow us in a heartbeat, and would make a system harder to use since you now have two stars at opposite ends.

>>1261915As the generals looked through data the Necrolyte Commander spoke up first, "Knowing the Empire these fleets are for two separate targets. Whether both are against us or the Ahkam or split, I could not be sure but judging by their positions I would say the D'Hrin fleets are preparing to attack B'Nan. The R'Jur fleet is less known. The could be either attacking us or going after the Ahkam or even just staying there as a defensive measure but that last one is least likely. The Empire prefers to go on the offensive rather than defensive if they can help it."Valresko speaks up next, "Yes, I believe the Commander is correct about the D'Hrin fleet's target being B'Nan but until we can interrogate one of their officers, there is always they chance they do the unexpected. If I had to guess, I believe the R'Jur fleet is awaiting to see what both we and the Ahkam do."Punisher Muic's image wavers slightly as she speaks, highlighting Rolan, "The Ahkam here are likely attempts to protect the Ahkam palace in the wake of the Lavafathers raids.""Or grouping to launch an invasion of our territory. They know we took down Vle'Karak and are likely itching for revenge if he is as important as they say," Agona adds.Jor surprises the others by pointing out Tura, "From the looks of the fleet and intercepted transmissions I believe they may either make another attempt at B'Nan while we are still reinforcing it or they are waiting for a chance to strike at either us or the Empire," he looks up then continues, "I know I am no fleet strategist but I would suggest raids against Tura and R'Jur. If possible I'd say send captured Ahkam or Osjiic ships to attack the other to instigate their animosity against each other, both sides have proven vulnerable to that kind of ruse."Voidknight Jareth speaks up next, "A good suggestion but I fear they may start learning to search for such tactics. I would say launch raids with fast striking fleets or stealth ships. Target their infrastructure and shipyards."Lorgul seemed slightly bored by the meeting when he speaks, "Why not just invade all fours systems? >>1262793I think we should lay a trap on B'nan If we make one of the cities seem active enough and make it seem like there is a leader there we can probably lure a bunch of the osijiic in, then we can Detonate a Void nova on the dumbasses heads, because you need to remember our advantage, We don't give a shit about the existing infrastructure on the planet so we can pull some pretty wild scorched earth tactics
>>1263593Or we could crush them in space battle. We are perfectly able to do it.
>>1263598Indeed we could try but there is still a pretty high chance of them being able to land troops. if we could start building some more lances on the ground that would be perfect, Not sure what kind though, i think Solar and Necrotic would be interesting since if aimed at the same target on an intersecting path, the necrotic would feed the power of the solar
>>1263082That's actually a really good idea, we can still produce fake Akham ships and we haven't tried a decent false flag operation with them in ages. If we use our captured Akham ships to lay the hurt on their fleet at R'Jur, they would totally believe that the serpents were behind it.
>>1263999Yeah, while it might be a bad idea to try and have them fight each other in out system, I think they would prefer to fight the enemy that they have solid information on.Also, Checked.

Reminder that Agona is thicc and calls us daddy
>>1263999>>1264065What would our allies think if they found out though, didn't we did that to some pirates
So continuing on the Crunch:>Defensive Astertoid NetworkWhat might look like a asteroid belt and a very dense asteroid concentration, is in fact a really complex system, a spacial construction. Most of the asteroid are in fact repurposed as base for a defensive weapon, adapted to the size of the asteroid, some with only turret and two auxiliary mount, other so small they are simply fill with explosive and a important point, some use tractor beam to project asteroid (notably the one full of explosive) on the ennemy .Each one equip with weapon is commanded by a demi-think tank; with each one linked to a bigger asteroid, equip with powerfull sensor and weapon; but what is inside is the most important, both for the asteroid and the network : a complete think tank, tasked to coordinate and lead the demi-think tank in is vicinity, creating a vast network of defense with a decentralized intelligence. The Crits Nest are a essential and notable part of said network.Cost : ??? vary with the size and concentration of the defense.>Crit NestA hollowed-out, swarming with Critters and equip with discret device allowing them to be launch to make the projection of the Critters easier.>Theorical partBut the most important part of the Critters Nest is the specialized Cauldron installed inside, only able to produce Critters but with great effectiveness. Little and very simple drone are attach to this cauldron and during the battle recolt the scrap and corpse floating nearby, before dumping them in the cauldron, to maintain the production, even in battle.
>>1264199You mean the Rutan allies who likely wouldn't care? Our Plantbros who have a hate-on for both the Osjiic and Akham?Netu Pirates who are..well..Pirates?Or the Lavafather who is likely only to be upset that we didn't involve him in the shenanigan? Hey..>>1264089Can we give the Lavafather our research into making false-flag ships? It'd probably increase his efficiency in raiding.
>>1264211Hollowed out asteroid* dam.Anyway, need your tough on this.
>>1264211for the defensive asteroid network, Might as well just have a 'ring' or 'rings' around worlds, and say its a new natural thing or something to make it pretty.Cost would then be based on the size of the world and how many 'rings' you want on it.
>>1264199Well firstly, the pirates aren't our allies. We've opened diplomatic communication with them and building up a trading relationship but they are in no binding treaty with us and have no obligation to fight with us. That said, they hate both the Akham and Osijic and aren't going to give a shit if we take the thumbscrews to either of them.If you're worried about our false flag attacks under their name coming to light, I wouldn't be terribly concerned. We performed those actions prior to peacefully contacting them, and the only significant response the Osijic gave in response to those attacks were some increased patrols and pursuits of pirates, not a full scale pirate hunt throughout the sector. If anything I would expect them to admire the cunning and deception we bring to fight our mutual enemies, seems like tactics pirates would rely on a lot.
>>1264089The quest runs during my work hours graves.....damn i miss day shift.
>>1263713>if aimed at the same target on an intersecting path, the necrotic would feed the power of the solarDoes no one else find this to be an intriguing idea?, i mean we could make a Massive Solar cannon Without, needing to actually Build a massive solar cannon. Is that not entertaining.
>>1264359Like 90% certain this isn't how that would work; It would require a generator of solar energy to "feed" on necrotic energy, if it's just 2 beams hitting each other the most that will happen is particle annihilation favoring the solar energy, the result of which would just be a reduced beam of solar energy at best since the beam is just energy, not a source.

>>1264672seconding, why not go all out? Could send a general on each to get em some exercise too
>>1264659You look to the images of the Pyroclastic Punishers, "Relay a message to the Lavafather informing him of these developments and request assistance in raiding either an Osjiic or Ahkam system, his choice."Punisher Muic salutes and her image flickers out as she moves to converse with an Obsidianborn in the Punishers fortress on Bastion.Indicating the D'Hrin and R'Jur on a map of the sector you look to your Generals, "I am loathe to grant the Empire the time to group up enough to retake B'Nan while we're reinforcing it. By striking both we can disrupt their nearest worlds and buy more time to dig in."Before you could continue Muics image reappears and you look to her expectantly. She lets out a chuckle, "The Lavafather just asks when and which Ahkam system you want them to strike. He also says he is not opposed to a flight of our stealth ships joining in on the attack, the Stonestar wanting to fight alongside the Armada once more."You nod in satisfaction, "Excellent. Then let us prepare.">The Lavafather is eager to attack either Tura or Rolan with his stealth fleet and suggests a joint attack alongside Armadan stealth shipsWho and how many ships are you sending to conduct these raids?(Valresko, Nekris, and the Necrolyte Commander are currently unavailable)
>>1264841I don't know what fleets to send but for the stealth ships.>R'Jur systemThis will allow our stealth ships to drop there payloads or missiles or w.e they have en-mass and then jump away while the enemy fleet will either need to move in and stop them or risk said things hitting the fortress on it. Deploy the goo for once as well if possible/have missiles that can deploy it?
>>1264882Wasting Sludge is easily deployed via airburst missile and/or grenade
>>1264889Then let's get some of those deployed over/onto the Fortress they have there. Its clearly not being sieges so it means its a strong point in the enemy command chain.
>>1264841Gear up our captured and imitation Akham ships to raid R'Jur. If we're lucky, this will prompt the Osijic to split their forces there to attack the Akham. That's two birds for one stone!
>>1264841Can we also tell the plant guys? Just to let them know what is going on and ask if they want to help? It's good training
>>1264920Eventually this tactic will no longer work, in fact it might make both factions open a dialogue just to stop this tactic, and that is the first step in them working together to fuck us
>>1264992I can't see the Akham and Osijic agreeing with one another on anything, especially if they're actively shooting one another. And I don't think that we're at great risk of being found out in a quick raid, even if we are it won't be a major cost to us.
>>1264841Okay to make this simpler:>Use Armadan ships to raid the Osjiic systemsor>Use captured and decoy Ahkam ships instead
>>1264985Plant guys are pretty anti-war, not sure if they'd agree to participate in preemptive strikes>>1264841Attack Rolan, send Predator Eiton, stealth raids are kind of the predator's jam. Let them decide what ships to bring, they're the ambush specialists.
>>1265041>>Use captured and decoy Ahkam ships insteadFalse flag attacks are the jelly to go on the pb&j sandwiches that are the Armada's strategy to war.
>>1261766I like to think we do that a lot, but that dose give me the idea of chess with moving reconstructed parts
>>1265062Seconding. At this point they probably know what's going on but it's not like we lose anything by bringing the ships, we can make more decoys. Also striking with decoy Akham ships makes our attack more deniable if we open up diplomacy with the Osijic in the future.
>>1265041>>Use Armadan ships to raid the Osjiic systemsThey aren't unaware of us anymore. This has the added bonus of giving credibility to any false flag ops, since they can't be certain were involved in prior operations given our non-effort to hide our presence.
>>1264841>>Use Armadan ships to raid the Osjiic systems
>>1265097The way I see it attempting to convince the Osijic the ships attacking them are Akham is a win win. If we're lucky it will cause them to split their forces to invade their space, and as a general rule of thumb in war you want to divide your enemies forces as much as possible. The Osijic were fighting the Akham for years in this sector, we're still the new guys on the block, so it shouldn't be hard to convince them to fight even more. In the very unlikely possibility they figure out who's actually behind it we loose nothing, there's no way they would ally with their old time enemies against us, they've never allied with anyone in their entire history.
>>1265208I just meant in terms of further subterfuge by means of attacks on either side, we could probably keep making similar attacks forever if we balance them with attacks from the "real" armada.
>>1265041So it appears to be a tie. Please break it or I'll flip a coin
>>1265273>>Use Armadan ships to raid the Ojiisc systems
>>1265233Indeed, the trick is picking when is a good time to use them. For the above mentioned reasons, I think the R'jur system is a perfect target for a false flag right now. It borders on both our own territory and that of the Akham, who were just leading an invasion on the neighboring system of B'Nan, so the Osijic will be looking out for them already. If successful, this attack could draw their fleets further away from our own systems, whittling down their numbers against our other enemy while leaving the R'Jur system itself undefended and open for a true and proper invasion by the Armada itself.
>>1265280But if we can get them to attack the Akahm it will make taking the system even easier!
>>1265041>Use Armadan ships to raid the Osjiic systems>>1265208Temporary non aggression treaty in this sector does not mean an alliance. It just means they both decide to fuck our shit up before going back to their own war.
>>1265311Just saying, if you want to prevent them from forming a non agression pact, then don't you want them shooting at each other as much as possible? Why aren't you trying to encourage them to continue their campaigns against each other, that's exactly what you want them to do isn't it?
>>1265273Attack D'Hrin with Armadan shipsWait for Osjiic ships to leave R'Jur to helpAttack R'Jur with Ahkam ships
>>1265370Actually I like this plan
>>1265343Every false flag operation is a risk in of itself of them allying, since if it is discovered by them either boarding or even looking through the wreckage of a vessel that it was us? it makes it more probable that they will either ally or just have a ceasefire to gank our shit

Hurt them and make them bleed to gain their attention. This will not be a prolonged invasion like B'Nan, not yet."If they react as I hope they will send reinforcements from nearby systems, likely from R'Jur or N'Tiin but as we've seen most of their fleets are stationed in R'Jur now so that will likely be the source. That will be when we strike at R'Jur with our decoy Ahkam ships due to its proximity to the Tura system, further increasing animosity between them and possibly instigating retaliatory strikes against Tura," he looks up at you for approval along with the other Generals.Satisfied you nod, "I approve. Make it so," you say and the Voidknights salute before severing the connection. You look to the Punishers, "Prepare a flight of stealth warships to join the Lavafather in striking at Rolan," you pause for a second as a thought occurs, "I will have some of our local Stonestar join you, the new generation should know the strength of the Punishers and the Obsidianborn," Agona and Muic salute as well before departing to carry out your orders.Predator Eiton speaks up unbidden, "I supposed I shall lead the decoy fleet since Nekris is going on a vacation?" he says with a laughLetting out a small chuckle of your own you nod, "Indeed you shall," he nods and salutes before his image flickers out as well.Looking to Valresko, "I want you to keep an eye on the operations. Guide them and deal with any unforeseen consequences."Valresko salutes and the remaining images do as well before they each flicker out to handle their orders. From your throne in the Charnel Vault you can sense as your fleets prepare themselves, engines flaring to life and weapons preparing themselves. Pilot Reconstructed begin their system checks, excitement welling up in them at the prospect of new battles and chances to be flying through the void. The Armada mobilizes for war once more, thousands of troops and ships animating to bring their might against your enemies.Despite your new goals and plans you were still a conqueror and this sensation of excitement was a familiar friend even after all these eons
>>1265442Do you seriously think the Osijic, the freaking void tyrants, would actually consider allying with anyone just because we pretended to be Akham? They're still in active conflict on their own, they nearly lost B'Nan to them before we came along. The Osijic get along with nobody man, they're the black sheep of the galactic political order. Mark my words, they would never partner with the Akham unless their entire empire were threatened, and even then there is a strong possibility they would opt to fight their inevitable doom completely alone.

The light of the red star Drakon bathed the twin worlds as they spun around each other, night coming more than once as the worlds dance in a seemingly chaotic but stable orbit. Gravity was strange on the planets as they and their moons pushed and pulled each other, the landscape broken and mountainous with minor seismic activity seeming to be common on both worlds.A Coffin was landed in a dense jungle crossed by numerous rivers on the larger of the worlds deploying a squadron of Talons and Cyclops with Gargoyles already flying overhead above the canopy of tall trees. The air was filled with the sound of wildlife and small buzzing creatures that tried vainly to draw sustenance from the undead, hollow legs unable to pierce their chitin. The sky was overcast sending the area into a brief darkness before the plantlife begins to glow with luminescence only to fade when the red sun emerged from behind the clouds once more. When night fell on the worlds, either through rotation of in the shadow of its sister world, the flora and fauna brought a dazzling array of bioluminescent displays to illuminate the night in a chaotic array of color.A Cyclops perched motionless in the boughs of a tree, its large eye twitching and swiveling madly as it drank in the surroundings. It watched a large herbivorous creature used a pair of dexterous trunks to root through the undergrowth, its thick hide covered in scabrous plates like armor with a trio of smaller juveniles tagging along close to its sides, their five eyes large and alert. The Cyclops eye darts when it detected movement nearby in the brush and it stared intently. It seemed that the native creature had also detected something amiss and it lifts its head, trunks covered in long whispers swaying through the air as it takes in the scents around it. Whatever it smelled did not agree with it for with an ululating bleating through its trunks it begins to charge forward on its stout legs, its young running after it while squealing in a panic. The source of the movement leaps to the attack, bursting from the underbrush with a shrill shriek that sends the flying creatures roosting in the trees and brush fleeing into the air. The predator ran on a pair of powerful legs that send it leaping forward, vaulting nimbly over fallen branches in its pursuit, other limbs held tight to its chest as it ran. Five eyes arrayed around its skull allowed it keep track of its quarry, rapidly gaining on the calf falling furthest back but as it neared the parent noticed the danger and with another bleating cry suddenly reared and twisted to charge at the predator instead.>cont
>>1266092The parent and predator dueled, thick hide barely protecting against the hunters sharp claws and gnashing teeth but the amount of scars it already had proved its determination. As the parent fought the Cyclops spotted another of the predators, smaller and colored with a dappled pattern that let it sneak up on the huddle of frightened young. Without warning the smaller predator leaps out to drop on top of the calf that was nearly its own size. Powerful jaws bite down onto the back of the calfs neck while claws slash into its hide that had yet to develop the rough armor of its elder and the calf squeals in pain as it was crippled. The other two calves begin to bolt but with blood still dripping from its fangs and claws the young predator leaps to tackle one of them to the ground to maim it in a flurry of blood and slashing limbs. The parent herbivore finally noticed that two of its young were maimed, squealing in pain as they were attacked and turns to charge back but the larger predator, bruised and bloodied from the duel, slashed out at its face and the parent finally seemed to make a decision and broke off. It ran off into the brush, trumpeting in anguish as its single remaining calf ran after it in blind panic.By the time the elder predator had reached the younger, likely its own child, it had killed both of the calves and seemed to look to its parent expectantly. The two hunters trilled and hissed at each other before settling down to enjoy their catch and lick their wounds.Distracted by this primal display of life and death the Cyclops did not notice the creature that had crawled its way up to it until it darted forward to bite into the soft joints between the armor plates of its side. The undead hisses in surprise and grabs the soft body of the creature trying to burrow its way into it and gives a hard yank, pulling the complex mandibles free of its body. The creature was soft and squirm in its grasp, short legs with hook-like claws waving futilely as its mandibles bare in anger at being denied its meal. Holding it tight in one hand the Cyclops inspects the hole and is surprised to see how easily it had chewed through its armor. These worlds were quite unique, the Think Tanks joyous with the array of new information they gathered through their Reconstructed scouts and survey teams.

Latching onto the hulls of the battleships like a parasite on a far larger host Revenant Lorgul sends the command to the fleet.Light distorts around the ships of the fleet as their combi-drives fire to life, a shell of twisted space-time forming around them while accelerating rapidly only to race off into the cosmic distance and disappear from sight.Elsewhere Eiton races for Horizon's Drop in his frigate as he returns from Worllunan, the captured and decoy Ahkam ships being prepared for his arrival. He sat in the chair of muscle and bone that rose from the floor of the bridge, turning the plate of chitin over in his hands. The ships Cauldron had analyzed a portion of the armor plate that Eiton had snapped off and he found the report rather troubling when it stated that it was indeed forged inside a Cauldron showing the same construction methods as the Armadan Reconstructed. On Bastion and in its orbit the Lavafathers fleet prepares itself, Agona departing on board an Obsidianbord shuttle to enter the same stealthed ship she and Muic had used to witness the first strikes against the Rolan system. Their fleet of stealth capable ships awaited her and the ships from the Armada to join them, their black stone hulls hard to detect in the darkness of the void if not for the orange glow of their engines and weaponmounts.Which and how many of your stealth ships do you wish to send along with the Obsidianborn strikefleet?>>1266114A little early in the year for that. >>1269103Somewhere near the equator where the Wormstar Fingers were starting to reach up into the atmosphere was a bunker hidden within a cliff overlooking the brine seas. In a large chamber Inalt the Warbeast rider was pacing ever since he had been transported several hours earlier, occasionally muttering to himself and touching the healed stump of his arm. He would stop and shout fruitlessly every once in a while but to no avail. There was a creaking of the heavy gate at one end of the domed chamber and he whirls around suspiciously ready to shout only for his words to die with a sharp intake of breath. Walking forward into the chamber was the cloned Warbeast, moving on its knuckles as it looked around the chamber cautiously. The Kzatniic quickly spots the motionless Osjiic and snarls defensively while tensing and looking ready to charge but it merely started pacing on the other end of the chamber, lacking the memory of the original and viewing the Rider as a potential threat despite their increased size.Inalts eyes immediately snap to you when you and Jor enter the chamber behind the cloned beast seated on your throne, the Osjiic bristling with anger but he holds his tongue. The kzatniic shies away from you with a snarl, already learning to avoid attacking you after a barrage of unseen telekinetic blows and you look up at it appreciatively, "I must admit, discovering the uniqueness of the galaxies lifeforms has become something of a delight for me. Surveying worlds to seek out new life, exploring what makes them unique. Ghul would have made great use of your homeworlds races," you say almost wistfully. Finally the Osjiic snaps out, "Why do you taunt me like this?" he demands simple while glaring at you, eyes flicking suspiciously to Jor as he stands to the side in silence with his helm in place. You look at him in surprise and mock insult, "Taunt you? I thought you would be overjoyed. You are about to be rejoined with your precious kzatniic. Sure it's not the original but soon they will be better than the original.""Better?" he asks suspiciously then grunts when the ground shifts underneath his feet and the floor near the center of the chamber falls away and a massive Cauldron rises up in its place. Recoiling from the smell of the toxic fumes wafting off its surface he takes several steps back only to spin around once more as a pair of Dirges enter into the chamber behind him. The crystalline Reconstructed pluck the osjiic from the ground without warning and he gives a shout of anger. The Dirges fused to your throne lend their power to your own as you casually lift the warbeast with a motion of your hand, "The way you fought my Predators with such ferocity yet cunning was quite inspiring," you say in a conversational tone as both rider and beast struggle and flail as they're brought closer to the Cauldron. Was there anything you wished to speak to the Rider before his Reconstruction?
>>1269285"I assure you, your sacrifice today will benefit the Armada greatly. Thank you for providing me a new tool to crush your empire."
>>1269285"You and your companion Kzatniic will rise again as both Herald's of the Armada's glory and might, and as my new Beastmasters. You, and all of your eventual successors, will travel to all of the worlds in my domain and teach the wild creatures to serve."Living or dead, sentient or not, all shall serve the Armada, and the galaxy shall rejoice with the order I bring."

>>1269285https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YZ60mQA4Q8Motioning to Jor he walks forward as well and finally speaks, "Truly inspiring indeed. So much so I requested Jadyk let me assist in this task.," he says with a grim determination, his reaver staff held in his reconstructed grasp, the smooth crystal of hard-light emitters recently embedded into the limb glinting in the light.Jutting a finger in the osjiics direction the human moves around the rim of the Cauldron toward the rider, "Did you know we are quite similar?" he ignores the insults spat his way and continues, "The sentient beings of this universe all have a chance to resonate with the elemental energies that underlie creation. Much like your Empires Voidsingers are sensitive and capable of hosting the Void, twisting it to their own ends, so too are there other elemental wielders. The Ahkam and the Arc, the Sunscale have the Solar and Void both," Jor says and stops near Inalt who was floating in the air just above the surface of the Cauldron. He crouches down to run his hand through the surface for a few moments as if in thought, "The two of us share the same potential. The ability to harness and use the power Necrotic, to enhance ourselves and exert our control over undeath and the powers of corruption," he stands wiping the caustic fluid from his hand and looks up to Inalt, "I follow the path of the Necromancer. My own lifeforce becoming a part of the fuel to enhance my strength while sapping the life from other beings. You, my new friend, have a different destiny," he says and steps back, motioning to the Cauldron. You draw Inalts attention from where he shooting glares at Jor, "I assure you, Inalt, your sacrifice will benefit the Armada greatly. Much like Estkri before you, you shall become a new tool to crush your Empire. You have my deepest gratitude," you say with a bow a split moment before he was plunged beneath the roiling surface of the Cauldron and with a bellowing roar the kzatniic follows.Departing from your throne you and Jor take your spots on opposite ends of the Cauldrons rim. You kneel and plunge your hands into the liquid with Kyn'tk slithering down your arm and into the mix to assist with this new creation while Jor plunges one end of his staff into the liquid, his other hand cradling the fossilized skull of the first Talon in his lap. This task was one of Jor's tests in becoming a true Necromancer, assisting your in creating a new General for your Armada.>cont
>>1269540Time passes as the warbeast and its rider were broken down into their constituent pieces and rebuilt together. Dirges enter the chamber occasionally, bringing large blocks of grown crystal Jor had requested for this task, the blocks dropped into the cauldron and broken down. Several hours pass, the chamber humming with the potent necrotic energies that washed off not only you but Jor as well, the human concentrating hard throughout the process with a determination you would never have suspected from him back when you were first freed from your tomb. Finally you step back, Kyn'tk reforming in your grasp into its typical form of a spear, Jor having to telekinetically stagger to his feet on legs that had long fallen asleep. His helm snaps open and he grins in your direction, his face gaunt and slicked with sweat from the intense ritual but his excitement was apparent even without the domination shard embedded under his skin. The surface of the Cauldron draws both your of your attention as the surface begins to churn and boil furiously, light flashing erratically beneath the surface. An armored arm lifts up and pulls the bulk of the new entity from the Cauldron that continues to boil, a large Reconstructed vaguely resembling the Punishers in bulk and armor emerging.Humanoid they were powerfully built, nearly as tall as Agona and Muic and resembling their unforged forms. Their head though was a heavy eyeless helm with a predatory shape narrow with a beak-like maw filled with blunt, perfectly uniform square teeth. Growths of jagged black and dark green crystal sprout from its body grouped mainly around its limbs and chest, its back a large cluster of the dark crystal that gives it a nearly hunched stature like a Brute. Several jagged crystals erupt from where it eyes would've been, curling into cruel horns.Flashes of light pulse within the stone and the new creation lifts one heavy arm and a layer of hard-light armor materializes over the bone and chitin, reshaping itself into both a shield a crackling blade stretching from its hand. Hard-light flickers across its form as it tests out its abilities, a beam of light extending into his grasp like a crackling destructive staff before letting it fizzle away.Turning its back on you and Jor it turns to the Cauldron that continued to churn and a moment later a massive clawed hand reaches out to pull itself free. Slightly smaller than Gral the Reconstructed Warbeast resembled a heavily armored Brute, its head a mirror of its master but lacking the crest of crystal. Indeed it possessed crystal hard-light emitters in its armor but nowhere as extensive as the first. A dense armored plate was splayed open over its chest, a hollow awaiting an elemental core to be installed.>cont
>>1269545Cauldron liquid sloughed off it as it emerged, the new General stepping back to give it room and it hunkers down before and the General reaches out to play a hand on its beak for a few moments then looks to you where Jor stood by your side.Turning they both kneel, heads bowed in supplication and the General awaiting its name. You look to your First Necromancer and motion for him. Jor nods and steps forward, the Talon skull disappearing back into his robes, to stand in front of the new Reconstructed hero, "Arise, Illuminator Tlacex. By your light you shall help guide the Armada, by your blades and armor you shall break our foes, and by your strength you shall be the Beacon that safeguards us."The newly dubbed Illuminator Tlacex stands, a heavy fist thumping to their chest as hard-light armor covers their form, a glowing armor of jagged plates and wicked claws, their voice rumbling, "I shall bring the radiant glory of the Wormstar and Lord Jadyk to the universe. Our enemies will feel my light and be scorched to ash as their survivors weep with despair at my passing.">Illuminator Tlacex has been Reconstructed and the Illuminator order founded by Necromancer Jor
>>1269540>Jor now reconstructing his own hero unitsI have never been so proud of this mortal. We're going to have to add this Jadyk's scrapbook of memorable moments.

>>1269540They... they grow up so fast...
>>1269606Better yet, Jor makes a scrapbook picture and we put it on our fridge to show of to an ambassadors.
>>1269553Illuminator Tlacex is a new form of Reconstructed general. Created with the recently unlocked crystalline hard-light technology Tlacex possesses a natural affinity for the creation of hard-light constructions.Taking the place of the Punisher order as the representative of the power Necrotic now that Agona and her sister have been Reforged.Due to the warbeast being a clone and lacking the Void potential that the original possessed that was devoured by the Predators the Reconstructed version is capable of installing and switching between different elemental cores prior to combat. They cannot switch between energy types in the battlefield.
>>1269637Could't we install a device in the chest, that rotates which 'core' its using? So it COULD switch in battle? Like a CD tray with 4 disc holders rotating?

D'Hrin was a fairly unremarkable system, a red giant with only a pair of planets caught in its orbit. Only it's location between other star systems populated by the Osjiic seemed to warrant its occupation yet now a large fleet of Osjiic warships was grouping within its borders. Capitol ships lingered in the orbits of the worlds as smaller sub-capitols and strikecraft ran patrols between the planets and in their orbits. From a pocket of twisted light the Eyegore watches the gathering fleet with a strict attentiveness, its sensor organs plying the countless frequencies that echoed through the emptiness of space as it listened in on the ships. It watches through a web of small drones, hardly larger than a crit crawl, spread throughout the system, eyes watching and observing their movements. It was one of these drones, hidden within the ring of ice and stone surrounding the gas giant, that saw the first flash of light and felt the spike of void energy in the cosmic distance. It swiveled its cluster of sensors toward the source as the sensors of a nearby frigate did as well. A single black-hulled vessel had emerged, a strikecraft with engines that blazed with void-light. The Eyegore heard confusion from the frigate that had detected the new ship a split moment before the Eyegore drone and the sensors of the Osjiic frigate were momentarily blinded by a cascade of light and radiation as dozens of Armadan warships appear and unleash their first salvos light seconds away from the main fleet grouped around the gas giant. The Eyegore watches from its hiding spot as throughout the system Armada ships emerged in a colorful array of their various ftl engines and attack the Imperial fleets. The light of the array of missiles and weaponsfire unleashed the moment they appeared reaches the Osjiic ships and they have just enough time to bring their shields to bear as the barrage collide with shield and hull.Flights of Nails and Gunships follow in the wake lead by the black hulled Voidterrors. Revenant Lorgul's personal ship spins and dances as he carves a path of destruction through the fighters sent out to intercept them, lances of destructive Voidflayer energy slicing through their hulls while Voidscreamer turrets pepper the shields of nearby sub-capitols. His cackling fills the airwaves, his shouts calling for the death of the Emperor and destruction of the Empire washing unbidden across the Osjiic communication channels. Spinal cannon slugs streak through the atmosphere of the gas giant, sending shattered fuel harvester ships plummeting into the storms below.Voidknight Jareths force struck the fleet in orbit over the planet leading a vanguard of Battleships and Void Destroyer capitols against them. His Voidterror slices through the shields of a corvette then launched a salvo of acid-drop missiles against its engines as he passed to strike at a nearby frigate, leaving it vulnerable to a flight of Gunships racing in behind him.>cont
>>1269947Chaos erupted through the system as the Armadan ships strike against the Osjiic fleet that finally manage to bring their main ships to bear and return fire. Detonations glow like flowers of fire and voidlight in the darkness of space with ripples of energy echoing across the energy spectrums yet completely silent as the Eyegore continued to drink in the sight. Something akin to excitement and happiness swelled up in its three hearts, watching the glorious event unfold before it, these fleeting moments of excitement in a so far uneventful existence of watching Osjiic ships pass through the system.Jareths battleships commence their bombardment of the surface, kinetic slugs detonating across the surface where fortresses were being built with the force of nuclear weaponry. Following in their wake was a flight of the new craw-bombers dropping through the atmosphere to rain down their arsenal of explosives onto the surface to further throw their construction efforts into disarray.Yet the Osjiic were not defenseless nor directionless. Orders were quickly funneled through the fleets and they strike back hard against the raiding fleet. Sub-capitols are shattered and several capitols crippled in their retaliation. The Osjiic fleets were a well-oiled machine of war that fought back hard against their attackers but the damage had already been done. Their fuel harvesters were all but eliminated with the surface of the planet riddled with new craters and burning wrecks of both strikecraft and buildings.Yet as fast as the Armadan fleet had attacked they began to fall back as the Osjiic fleets regroup and retaliate. Armadan ships, their hulls scored with missile and weapon impacts, burn their engines bright as they leap into ftl. Those Reconstructed ships that had been crippled unleash what attacks they could before their reactors and engines were detonated in blasts of necrotic and void energy. The last of the Armada ships to remain in the system were the Voidterrors, Revenant Lorgul striking out against the Empire until the last moment before he departs as well.Osjiic ships seem to breath a sigh of relief and the process of recovery and salvage begins. Signals of distress and lifepods echo in the darkness of space, ships heading out to rescue those who survived and help damaged starships. The wreckages of the Armadan ships littered the battlefields, the biggest pieces thankfully little more than splintered hulls and twisted metal supports. Osjiic and Reconstructed troops drift through the void, their bodies broken and motionless as they share the same lonely fates. The Eyegore silently hopes more excitement comes to the system and it contents itself with watching the Osjiic rush to recover from the devastating attack.

We should let Jor take the necrotic ructu as a necromancer
>>1270165As a necromancer apprentice*
>>1269987Y'know, that's probably what our first human-based Solar Arbiter is going to look like.
>>1270172Once they go full undead, do they earn the title Dominator like Valresko has or do they remain Arbiters?
>>1270208I'm assuming that Dominators are all Reconstructed like Valresko. Now, whether they'd all be transformed to resemble him or retain more of their previous forms, I'm not sure. Probably leave that one up to Graves.
>>1270226I'm assuming it's going to be like a Dreadnought thing. Any elementalist that survives fatal injury but is pretty much going to be dead can be dump inside the cauldron to make new unit of each "general class"
>>1270231I wonder how the osjiic arc dancer is going to look like as a Predator
>>1270238Probably look like something out of Evangelion.
>>1270238Probably just a bit of a difference in mass. Kinda like comparing the sizes and strengths of the big cats. American puma (Predators), jaguar (Dominators), lion (Void Knights and new Illuminators) and tiger (Reforged Punishers).>>1270242Yeah, this sounds good too. Where Nekris and Eiton are agile, stealthy, and deadly, the next Predator might display pure overwhelming force and seething power. This means we'll also have to give the other orders unique members that aren't HUEG like Lorgul or Agona. I wonder what a Void Knight based off a Stonestar would look like?
>>1270245>Void Knight based off a Stonestar would look likeOne of the oldest Voidsingers in the Legion is a veteran Stonestar
>>1270245The way I see it, battle tendencies like raw overwhelming offensive power versus extreme agility are more linked to elemental affinities as opposed to racial traits. I would expect an Osijic predator to much leaner than his or her counterparts in the other orders, with most of his physical strength being used to enhance his movement skills. Seeing one of these guys in action would be sort of like seeing a big cat like you mentioned, still clearly packing loads of mass but somehow using it to move in a very lanky sort of a way. Speaking of possible Predators, weren't Vel'Karls twin body guards arc attuned? Maybe they could be effective candidates, depending on their hostility to the armada and their willingness to serve it.
>>1270226Would prefer that all future dominators be reconstructed Albino's Since that is one of the Biggest Middle fingers i think i can give to the sunscale without Using the flesheater Virus
How is the disciple at the other end of the galaxy doing?
>>1270949He should be building his forces and raiding with The Council's forces. Im hoping its time for reconnaissance on their capitol. Best case scenario is getting the shard, getting the fuck out and calling Jadyk asap for reinforcements. A reason we dont launch an invasion is we might lose the shard because of stupidity and the ensuing destruction. If we cant get the shard then we should collect as much info as possible and if its deemed the best course at the moment, try to gank a Council member without making them think it was a non-council member. Worst case scenarios is getting captured or them finding out that we are from another planet. I doubt they would submit to our yolk again and even if they did, in comparison to the Blackscales, they are stereotypicaly evil to a fault and dont care about loss of life, which we currently do care about. If us or a general didnt constantly oversee them, then they probably would cull a planet because they insulted us(and thus them) or to do pointless experiments with a net lose, just like Mengele.
so, anything come of the using a metal and biomass baced currency for civilian use in traid and in use as material for there own thinktank assisted cauldron creations Also what about the necromancers aging wine as part of there training?Or our super awesome wormstar wine jor was going to make to surprise us?>>1269954Can you please put a vote post up for people to vote on to make these official?
>>1274237Why introducing a currency in our society ? We don't need it, it will only have the negative effects and none of the good one.
>>1274237Also If necromancers can use necrotic to age alcoholic drinks and cut down on fermentation time, then can a user of necrotic compost biomass into fertilizer in but a moment? If so the plant guys that can use necrotic might have a use in the plant civ, death in a way is a precursor to life, and the deadwoods (that's what I'm calling them) can help facilitate that
>>1274242It's needed for traid, if people can create there own specialized reconstructed them that opens up a market for it, and with a market and currency you get competition and innovation. It allows us to tap into that creative chaos that we love in the living And with all basic needs automatically filled and only needing money for luxury goods there is no down side
>>1274237With only a few hundred citizens, a barter economy works for now. We can introduce currency if the citizens don't come up with their own. Odds are, it'll be alcohol or narcokelp based.
>>1274248Trade, not Traid. We don't necessarily need a set currency like gold coins or digital credits. Bartering works very well, even in the modern day. The only reason you don't see it in first world nations is because corporations and big business have state economics by the balls. Seriously, you have no idea how valuable fresh fruit, vegetables and grains are until you don't have them. The opposite side of this are offered services; a shoemaker agrees to make me a few pairs of shoes or boots that will last me the year, and in exchange I provide him with a portion of my fishing catch, or a couple bushels of corn from my field. As for allowing the citizens to have special Reconstructed pets and 'assistants' (We all know they'd basically be house slaves, that's just what they're for), that's not the best use of the Lich-Lord's time, or even of Jor's.Now, I would not be against citizens commissioning Reconstructs from Necromancer students; hell, we could organize tournaments where our aspiring Necromancers have their warriors fight, with the winner basically winning the position of Valedictorian of their class.>>1274243I'd say that there is a measure of potential in Necrotic Vintners, but we'd need to make damn sure the end product is safe for consumption.
>>1274248But people don't need money to be innovant or try to be the best, we are already stimulating them via dreamstone. Beside with their basic need filled, they will naturaly seek way to use their energy and occup their mind. Money, even if it's only for luxury will create unhealthy competition and create gap of wealth (and what come with it); inegality and social tension. Currency is not needed when you live in a nation where most of the work force are tireless puppet control by your benevolent overlod. Really the only one who need money is us, and it's to buy shit to the other faction.
>>1274301A barter economy can't work in a first world civ. How many apples is a tv worth? Is it a constant traid rate or dose it differ? And apples spoil and loose value. It's not big business that makes us use a money system it's human nature, we have used currency for as long as we have had a written language.A barter system does not allow for long term investment of wealth because goods depreciate in value over time. And a barter economy is slow, it take too long for each transaction and is too inconstant be every item and service is its own currency in a way and good luck figuring out the exchange rateThey won't need a necromancer to make the things, people can do it using a thinktank or custom build interface as an in between. Because we know a thinktank can use a cauldron, so people then use thinktanks to use a cauldron But yes making sure the wine is safe it important >>1274305In all of history they has been no better driving force of innovation than capitalism, and for that we need a form of money. No such thing as unhealthy competition. With all needs met there is no leathal poverty for people to fall intoa gap in wealth is fine, the more competent and capable deserve to live better off the fruits of there labor.
>>1274654>He think capitalism promote meritocratyThe more competent and capable will effectively have better live and compensation. For the simple reason that we will know about it. If someone do a good job and show competence to Idk, manage some shit; good. He get a promotion, he have right to better shit, ect...We have no need for something as trivial and inexact as money to judge the sucess of our people. We see, we know, will and our will his done, our judgement is ultimate.
Clud slapped his hand a few times on the side of the air-truck and the human driver waved a hand then started the craft. Loaded full of the bundles of Drop Kelp and dried Narcotikelp the air-truck had a logo from a chain of local food vendors and a cartoon Netu in a chefs outfit slapped on the side, Clud stepping back as it lifted off the platform and took off to join the streams of air traffic guided by floating holographic symbols.Turning back toward the Wick the netu started counting off the remaining crates and bundles of the kelp and sea grass with a datapad while waiting for the last truck to arrive and export the cargo. Looking up at the sound of hurried footsteps he saw one of the necrolyte legionnaires sent with them, a rough human woman, rushing toward the ship. She spotted him and shifted her path and motioned for him to follow her to the ship, half-shouting at his curious look, "I got something we need to show Ja- the Boss!" she corrected herself.Eigha, Buddy and the other legionnaire guards gathered with the human and Clud in the mess hall of the smuggler corvette. The demi-Think Tank was projecting a small holographic image of yourself, those gathered giving quick salutes then turning their attention to the human. Taking a datastick the guard plugs it into a console and a holographic image is projected before them."Today we have gained new information about the ongoing undead crisis afflicting the neutral Refuge system located within the nebula wall," a vorh news anchor says from a rather shoddy looking set, their face and voice both blurred and distorted through the image to hide their identity, "As you know the Refuge system is appropriately named with the countless families displaced by the Osjiic Empires aggressive campaign just on the other side of the nebula wall, its population swelling since the fall of the Cerberi system which the Confederate Navy failed to protect. Refuge has long been a sore spot for the Confederate High Command and the Senate, refusing to help their displaced citizens and ignoring the aggression of the Void Tyrants."Their co-anchor, a human who's image was so distorted you were unsure of their gender or age, speaks next, "In recent days and weeks there has been an undead outbreak that is sweeping through the system. Casualties are estimated to be in the hundreds of thousands with converts appearing to number in the millions by now. These undead have shown an intelligence not seen in the common feral undead you find on backwaters and tainted worlds, taking ships to spread their infection to the many populated worlds of the Refuge system. Reports from those that have managed to escape and through our contacts among the Pirate ships that have attempted to provide aid say that these undead are in fact salvaging and repair starships with reports of abandoned warships being taken and repaired.">cont
>>1275278The vorh slams a fist on the table, making the structure jerk slightly, "How long will High Command ignore this crisis?! We have long brought attention to the plight of the Refuge system, particularly in recent days with news of this outbreak and still High Command and the Senate have been silent!" The vorh takes a breath and calms down rather quickly, regaining their composure, "But fear not, it appears as if hope is not dead for the people of Refuge."The image changes to show a video of an Armadan Cruiser destroying a flight of weaponized shuttles in pursuit of a group of damaged civilian ships with a barrage of its flayer turrets. The humans voice speaks, "It appears that an unknown faction has taken the duty of protecting the vulnerable people of Refuge upon themselves."The image flickers and changes to another video of an evacuation of a shanty town on Scatters that you recognized vaguely from the Gargoyles in the area. The video was from a local recording from a handheld device, the juvenile human standing on top of a building with a group of other youths recording the tide of undead surging through the streets and alleys of the town, the sound of weaponsfire ringing in the air along with the screams and shouts of the living and dying. Many of the youth on the rooftop were throwing rubble or using what few weapons they had in futile attempts to slow the advance of the shuffling zombies and the nimble ghouls. There was a sudden shout from the survivors and a cry of disbelief swelled up as everyone looked up. The shapes of Coffins plummeting out of the sky filled the screen and their shouts turned to screams as the shadows of Drakes and Devils swooping down startled the living. The image swings showing a Coffin fly low over the crowd of undead the doors on the side slide open allowing the Necrolytes within in to unleash a barrage of weaponsfire into the crowd of undead while dropping thermal imploders that blossom into powerful eruptions of heat and pressure in its wake.A Coffin hovers over the building and the cargo door slides open and a squad of Legionnaires jump out to land with their jump-packs, several landing heavily in their medium exosuits. Those still on the roof recoil until the helmet of one of the human necrolytes snaps open and she starts to shout commands, telling them to board the Coffin as it slowly lowers to an open patch of roof. The survivors begin funneling into the dropship and the recorder of the video stops before the human necrolyte to shout over the noise surrounding them, "Who are you?!"The necrolyte just laughed and gave them a shove to the Coffin, "We're the ones making sure you don't end up zombie-chow! Now let's move it!"There was a booming sound from the sky and just as the ramp started to close the video showed the shaky grainy sight of what was either a Brute or a Heavy Exosuit landing in the middle of the undead swarm and unleashing a crackling blast of lightning.>cont
>>1275291The footage returns to the pair of news anchors in their underground studio, the human speaking, "So far details are varied and vast from just what is happening in Refuge but one thing is clear. A previously unknown faction with unknown military might and seemingly advanced unknown technology with soldiers of various races has taken upon themselves to rescue those under siege in the Refuge system."The vorh nods, the camera shifting to them, "It is too early to judge this new strange faction and their intents but if I had to guess they are taking a stand to protect those less fortunate where the Confederation would remain silent. We will continue to cover this crisis as more information is made available to us."They begin talking about another subject when the human necrolyte ejects the datastick and looks to your holographic image, "It's from an underground news network. Talks about things the Confederate governments don't want the public to know. Supposedly it's funded by the UON or the Ahkam."Rumors and spies are harder to contain than a plague after all.

>>1275340Doesn't really seem to need a vote.Having Necromancers practice their abilities by fermenting and creating alcohols (and other uses by aging things) seems like a pretty solid idea. There wouldn't be much physical impact on the quest beyond fluff stuff like as gifts or a potential trade good.I'll make sure to add it in though, don't worry, I've seen that there is plenty of support for the ideas

>>1276357Oh Jesus, why? Agona and Muic are UNDEAD. They only have genders for the purposes of separating them from the other genders and as a callback to their previous lives. Also, you know you're probably going to get hit by mods now, right? Could have just left a link or something.
