This is Boruto Quest, a quest set in the universe of Naruto. It is during the generation of Naruto's son after everyone has graduated from their Genin exam. I haven't kept up with the series beyond the end of the original one, so this one is intended to recapture the feel of that time of Naruto. I will not be incorporating the main show or the Boruto movie's plot into the quest, although some recognizable characters will be present. You play as a 12 year old Chunin named Takeshi. You have been assigned a Jounin squad leader named Hanto, and your two squadmates are Kichiro, a young delinquent, and Ai, a strange social outcast of a girl. You are of average skill in most aspects, although your sharp intelligence, and your jack of trades skill set have brought you far. You're a Chunin of notable talent for your age. You've been training your ass off in your home town.http://pastebin.com/quPegDLF
>>1117097Yeah nigga lets do this
>>1117097Also I looked at the pastebin, i dont think the stats are updated, isnt our speed supposed to be 4? Alot of our stats seem lower than normal.
>>1117104yeah, that shit needs to be updated looks like
I wanted to make an amendment to last thread after thinking about it.The training weights that Yasu gave you, should operate a little bit differently I think. Instead of simply giving you a raw stat boost, I'd prefer to make it function as an item for now. Putting you up to 4.0 (Jounin level) speed feels a little out of balance.Instead they'll function more similarly to Rock Lee's weights from the series. You'll receive a -.5 to speed whenever you're wearing the weights. No changes to strength. Now, when you take them off, you'll lose the -.5 to speed, and gain a temporary +.5 to speed in addition, putting you up to 4.0 even until the effects wear off. This is to represent the sudden ease of movement you'll have. Once you've been wearing the weights for long enough, you'll be able to remove them and have a permanent +.5 boost to speed. This way it actually functions as more of a supplement to your training than a simple raw stat boost. Since this a bit of a wordy explanation, here's the short version.Training Weights: -.5 to speed while worn. +.5 temporary boost to speed when you take them off. (net result 1.0, .5 from taking them off and .5 from the temp boost.)When you've worn them long enough, you'll have all the benefits but no downside.
>>1117125Sounds like we should never take them off until boss battles or until we're fit as fuck
>>1117128That's the idea. So you can have a cool moment where you "get serious"
>>1117125Okay, that's cool. Can we also find a way to start wearing the jumpsuit Lee got us? Shit seems mad useful and we can wear some clothing over it if we don't wanna look dumb.
>>1117138Yeah, you can just start wearing it under your regular clothes and jacket. I'd suggest changing from pants to some baggy shorts though, so you don't get too hot.
>>1117133can we throw the weights at people?
>>1117143But shorts look super dumb. I feel like some baggy pants would accomplish about the same thing.
>>1117138I actually support this, but make it navy blue/brown-green camo instead and my ninja boner will break physics
>>1117148Baggy pants and some actual boots so that we can blouse the pants, actually go tactical with our outfit
>>1117149I'm all for trying to dye it navy blue actually, it'd help to distinguish ourselves from Lee's clan and give us a better chance at not being seen in low light conditions.
>>1117148What's the point of wearing a suit made to let your body breath if you cover the whole thing?
>>1117161Really its all the practicallity, but the distinguishment is neato as well
>>1117162It plays more into the whole serious mode thing honestly. Breakaway pants and whatnot.
>>1117166That and the storage space
>>1117138>>1117143>>1117148>>1117149>>1117160>>1117161>>1117162Lets go FULL TACTICAL UNDERWATER OPERATOR! >>1117133Is it possible to induce false memories through genjutsu?
>>1117169speaking of storage space, if we do switch to boots, would a boot-knife be a thing we'd want?
>>1117173>scuba gear>MP5's>Liefeldian style pouchesmuh dick
>>1117174Of course it would, like at least 4 of them, including ones we can kick with on the tips of the boots, also make sure they're steel toed
REMINDER THE WE ARE LITERALLY BECOMING JESTSTREAM SAMAlso baggy long pants all the way
>>1117174Oh yeah totally. We already have two bags full of shit lets go all out on equipmentAlso an idea of mine from the past thread:>sealed>paralysis bell>boxBassically when the box is opened, the seal is activated which releases chakra and the bells go off. Which cuts down paralysis by bells from two to one turns if it works.
>>1117183>steel toedYou mean uncomfortable pieces of shit? Regular leather boots would serves us much better.
So can we have that vote on Takeshi's last name? I'm, putting forth Hongo.
>>1117193I vote Kitano, but Hongo is cool too
>>1117190He has a point, heavy duty all the way isnt exactly our style. We can still have the boot knife tho>>1117193Yeah thats good>voting for the mcs last name on thread 58
>>1117190Nonsense, steel toed boots are great as long as you have them fitted properly and you break them in well
>>1117125Do we still get the +.5 to STR and STM?
>>1117205At the end of your training with it you will. For now it only affects speed.
>>1117204Look, we already have enough shit weighing us down with the small-scale armory we're packing. The less weight we have on us now, the better. Mobility and getting the fuck out of harm's way has done us well.
>>1117173>>1117176>>1117179WAIT A MINUTE!I FOUND SOMETHING EVEN BETTER!IT'S TIME TO GO FULL METAL GEAR!
>>1117214Just fuckmy shit up then.
>>1117218How about we draw inspiration from the guy who knows what he's about. Not the murder prodigy.
>>1117218>not samWe already have his sword
>>1117216Fair enough, it's not like it's a deal breaker on my end
>>1117229We already have a snake expy. He was even named Snake for fuck's sake.
>>1117216Spoken like someone who doesnt like gains. We can ditch our shit if and when we dont need it. The clothes however provide lots of resistance to attacks, im not willing to give that up.>>1117218>>1117222>>1117229>>1117231Ayyyy hol up. One step at a time.
>>1117214He means for the fire training we did with Hanto.
>>1117235I forgot about him. But to be fair, he did fuck with us good when we first met. Seem's like somebody we could learn from.
>>1117218Do the Japanese have middle names?
>>1117249>Do the Japanese have middle names?nope
>>1117229Grass Snake says hi
>>1117247His invisibility jutsu was pretty cool at the least.
>>1117229>not the murder prodigyBut we ARE the murder prodigy! >>1117231>>1117229>>1117237Besides, in terms of looks they're all basically wearing the same thing. We can TOTALLY pull off a tactically skintight stealth-suit. And it'll be equal parts disturbing and fascinating!
>>1117261>>1117247>>1117235He's from Konoha too if I'm remembering right. Do you think his jonin sensei is Big Boss?
Sarada tells you that she has to prepare for some training with her squad, so you're asked to leave. She tells you that she'll get back to you on getting something to eat, and you walk outside without thinking twice about it. It's still fairly early in the morning, but as you exit, you're caught off guard by an important figure standing at the end of the road. It's Kakashi Hatake, the Sixth Hokage. He grins behind the mask. Well, at least you think he does. He's more so smiling with his eyes, than anything else. He holds up a hand and waves. You quickly step over. "Good morning, Lord Hokage. How can I help you?""Polite as usual." he says. "I just wanted to ask how your trip to the mountains went. Smoothly, I hope?" You nod. "They seemed to really like me. I was able to practice summoning a few weeks ago, and it went well. Kind of costly though, in terms of chakra."He nods. "Indeed. It'll be more useful when you get older, I think. It's best to start learning now, while you're young. Even if you grow powerful enough to summon the best of the best, it won't mean anything if the clan doesn't respect you as a person." "Right. Thanks Lord Hokage, I'm really honored that you picked me to meet them."His eyes light up again. "No problem. I figured it'd be suited to your more support based fighting style. Speaking of which, Naruto was wanting to see you for a briefing. You'll be going on a mission tomorrow, so I hope you're ready. It's been about a month since your last one, so it'd be a real shame if you were out of practice or something.." You grin. "Actually, I've been working really hard on something special! I don't know when I'd get the chance to show you, so I guess I'll just say it. I've been working on learning how to use the Fire element as well as Water."He raises an eyebrow. "Oh? That's quite an accomplishment for your age. Only a couple students per generation tend to even attempt it. As someone who's mastered all five elements, I'll wish you good luck."He signs off with a half hearted salute, and vanishes in a puff of smoke.
>>1117264Still rather have a regular outfit to wear over it, that way if we need to do a full stealth infiltration we can strip off the outer layer, pull up a hood and put on a mask and BOOM Full Tactical
>>1117271he is from kusagakure
>>1117271>Do you think his jonin sensei is Big Boss?I think his disgraced S-Class missing Ninja father is Big Boss
>>1117276You make your way to the Hokage's office, and the secretary tells you to head on in right away. When you enter, you're surprised to see a few familiar faces. To your left is Kichiro, and to the right is Ai."Good morning, everyone." you say. Naruto nods, and the rest of the room mutters out greetings. The air is tense, for some reason. You step forward into the center of the room. "Kakashi told me you wanted to brief me on a mission?"Naruto looks up from some papers on his desk. "That's right. This time, you'll be leading the group around you to the outskirts of the Stone village. It'll take several days to travel there."You look around the room again. Everyone still looks nervous. "So, what's the mission?" Naruto stands up, and looks out the window. "We've received some information stating that the Jashinists are attempting to recruit a very high profile individual. You're already familiar with him. His name is Usagi, more commonly referred to as the Archer from the Stone."The Hokage turns around and slides a photograph across the desk, in black and white. "He's apparently gone rogue, without giving reason why. The Stone village is trying to keep this information under wraps, in order to prevent mass panic. As you understand it, this boy is a Jinchuriki. The Six winged Hawk."Looking at the photograph, you easily recognize your old foe. He has darkly tanned skin, medium length black hair, and piercing brown eyes hidden behind a pair of goggles. Kichiro steps forward. "This seems pretty serious. It'd be a major downer if these dicks managed to get hold of someone this strong. Why aren't the Stone sending their very best after him?"Naruto frowns. "They don't want to further agitate him. If he were to completely lose control, the Hawk would come out, and it would be an international incident at best. If the Stone is shown to be incompetent at controlling the Jinchuriki, then the world council would call for reform on all Jinchuriki. After the last war, everyone is terrified. We'd be sending our Jounin en masse if we could, but they're mostly preoccupied with the situation in the Mist. Not to mention I have to keep a number of us posted at the Leaf. The three of you are best Qualified for this mission."Ai has her hands folded behind her back. "I will do whatever you ask of me, Lord Hokage." Do you have any questions for Naruto about the mission? >A. Yes (Write in)>B. No. (Leave with Kichiro and Ai.)
>>1117264Honestly I'm if we do metal gear shit, it'd be Sam. And I don't think that Min would allow Takeshi Jetstream.
>>1117243Pretty sure he got that when he answered my question. I hope I am wrong but I doubt it.
>>1117243>>1117294>>1117243The reason you got that stat increase was because it was several weeks long and you were wearing the weights during that time. A raw stat boost isn't as fun/interesting as having the weights be an actual tool, in my opinion.
>>1117285>>A. Are there any other available squads at the moment? This seems like it'd go smoother with more than than the 3 of us.
>>1117231>>1117218Both Sam and Raiden are cool options, we should take a little from both. The ninjaboner only grows harder!
>>1117285'Do we have any reports on jashinist forces, On mission or out of mission, in the area?'
>>1117271I thought he was from Grass? But Grass and Leaf are on good terms, I think...
>>1117285>>A. Yes (Write in)Last known position, any known or suspected Jashinist assets in the area? Any chance the Stone is hiding things from us? How much time are we estimated to have? Does intel have any guesses why he went rogue?
>>1117285>A. Yes (Write in)What Jashinists have been seen in the area?
>>1117285>A. Yes (Write in)"Do we have any information on him personally, family members and the like?"Also>The Six winged HawkDoesn't really look like a hawk to me but alright.
>>1117321All the old Bijuu are dead and gone except for the ones who had hosts at the end of the series. Meaning the Eight Tail ox and Nine Tailed Fox are the only originals left. However, Bijuu don't vanish that easy. They're being reincarnated, or already have. So numbers 1-7 are completely new species.
>>1117278The question is, when would we ever want to NOT be full tactical? >>1117285>A. Yes (Write in)Is there any information on why he might have gone rogue? Even suspicions?
>>1117305It might not be as fun but seeing numbers go up is satisfying. Hell that is half of what RPGs are. I am sad we arent keeping the STR and STM boosts since those seemed reasonable given 3ish weeks of training as it was described.
>>1117285>AAre there jashinist in the area?
Does he have Iwa's file on Usagi? Psyche profile, known associates, education, etc.?
>>1117285>A. How did we get this information in the first place?
I gotta feeling that this mission is going to be hard. We should conduct a long winded stealth orientated search and destroy operation for this engagment. We should avoid a straight up fight with all of them at once.
>>1117374Pick off stragglers and deal with the remainder is what im trying to say.
>>1117370This as well.
So I assume our mission is to find out why he went rogue and try to stop him from joining the Jashinists. Reasons why we've been chosen may include:1)We're not connected to Iwa, so we're probably unrelated to his reasons for leaving2)We've fought the Jashinists on numerous occasions3)We once managed to take down a jinchuriki before he could do any serious damage4)We've been shown to at least be able to SURVIVE if a bijuu gets involved This implies that we might end up fighting a bunch of angry immortals, a jinchuriki, a bijuu, Iwa ninja, and unknown outisde forces; that we'll have little or no backup; and that shit is SERIOUSLY going down in Kiri.
I winder if we can requisition one of the Tensai Edo sealing scrolls since we know the Jashinists have at least one resurrected shinobi.
>>1117381Thats why i proposed a long term opperation style. To reduce risk
>>1117381I'm kind of wondering why our sensei isn't at least involved.
>>1117389So... You're suggesting a ninja style approach instead of a shonen hero approach?Ok, i agree. Also, we should get Shikadai on this mission.
>>1117389But we should try to establish contact with Usagi ASAP, at least warn him about the sort of folks going after him
>>1117397Or at the least having a 4th member for our squad.
>>1117398This. Fuck it let's get this generation's Ino-Shikka-Cho in here.
>>1117308>>1117313>>1117317>>1117321>>1117337>>1117351"Don't you think it could be dangerous, with just the three of us? Are there any other squads available?" Naruto sits back down, sighing. "I'd like to send more with you, but many of our most experienced Genin are preparing for the Chunin exams, which are just in a few days. It'd be unfair to them to pull them out last minute like this, when they've been training for months. Your allies that are here are volunteers. Originally it was just going to be you and an envoy from the Stone."You look at your friends. You hadn't considered that they'll both be missing the exams to help you. "Kichiro, Ai.." Ai's face is stony, and looking at the window. "This situation demands attention. We can't let the Jashinists get an edge like this, or it could be catastrophic. We all remember the last time they freed a Bijuu, right?"The Four Winged Dragonfly was certainly one of the most terrifying moments of your life. You gulp, though you find your throat to be dry. Kichiro hooks his arm around your neck, and playfully jerks you around. "Just shut up and lead us into the fight! It's not like there won't be another exam six months from now. We'll be even more prepared, then! It'll be easy!" He releases you. "Right then. Well, do you have any sort of additional information on Usagi? A psych profile or anything like that?"Naruto shakes his head. "I can only tell you what's commonly known. The Stone has taken a hands off approach to his development, as the people are still largely terrified of having a Jinchuriki in their village. The Stone has always believed in the strength of their walls, and so they ask that he live outside of them. Usagi has a home on the outskirts of the village, and that's where you'll start your investigation. From what we know, he's a complete loner. We can assume he went rogue because of feelings of angst regarding the demon inside of him. Possibly, a Jashinist spy convinced him to leave.""How did we get this information, again?"Naruto looks up. "We received a comprehensive report from a Jounin of the Stone. It had been his mission to gather this intel and report it to us. "Does he have any family?"Naruto shakes his head. "His mother died in childbirth, and his father abandoned him. That's why he was chosen to receive the Bijuu.""Are there any prominent Jashinists who've been seen in the area?""They haven't been seen, but that doesn't mean that they're not there." You nod. "I'd like to requisition some sealing scrolls then, in case we run into someone capable of Edo Tensai." Kichiro makes a sudden 'Tch' noise. "I didn't know they could do all that. Just how serious are these guys, exactly?"You think back to the last encounter you had. "Very." Do you have any other questions?>A. Yes (Write-in)>B> No (Leave with Kichiro and Ai)
>>11173813) Actually, it's this very same jinchuriki, IIRC.
>>1117409>No (Leave with Kichiro and Ai)Times'a'wastin let's go deal with an angst ridden superweapon. Again.
>>1117409>B> No (Leave with Kichiro and Ai)
>>1117409"Why can't we have a jonin involved? I'm assuming there's a specific reason."
>>1117397>>1117389>>1117403This is a sneaking mission, if shit goes down hard we failed the mission. Best case scenario everything goes back to normal like nothing happened. Whatever happens, we really NEED to figure out what's going on without anyone knowing we're there. If we can get Usagi on our side, or at least NOT ON the enemy's side we can win. I don't think thay can handle a jinchuriki any better than we can. Worst case we knock him out, drug him and book it for Iwa. Hopefully it won't come to an all-out three-way brawl. >>1117412That makes everything slot into place nicely. >>1117409>B No (Leave with Kichiro and Ai)
>>1117409>noLets stock the fuck up, were going full on sabatour mode. they go on a bridge, we blow it up while not even being close. They sleep, we use genjutsu ti make sure that they sleep and we decapitate them. They make contact with perceived allies, we get rid of them in advance.
>>1117421They're busy. There's a civil war going on next door, and they're needed for the protection of the village itself. Not even considering any other missions that might be going on at the moment anywhere else in the world.
>>1117409>>A. Yes (Write-in)Any chance the jonin who handed this in turned?
>>1117421Basically if they are using such an under powered squad, we are all Naruto can spare.
>>1117423How about we identify his place and just booby trap the shit out of it.
>>1117097>>1117188Also op, is this possible? Just wanna know.
>>1117427I doubt it. What would be the motive?>>1117421>>1117428It probably helps that Iwa looks less incompetent if the help their allies send is Chunin+Genin rather than Jonin. Like, "the problem wasn't that big, everything's fine." Not that that's the reason, it's just icing on the cake.>>1117429Because he's not our enemy... yet. And we want to avoid that. Also killing him would release the bijuu, right? Or is that how it works?
>>1117447Well if hes a proven hostile then do it, if hes an ally get his consent. It would be really dope, lottsa people dead.
It would be nice if we could get a stipend to gear up for this mission, considering we an under powered, understaffed squad being sent on a mission to possible subdue a jinchuriki with a high chance of facing enemy combatants.
>>1117409Fuck, i still believe Shikadai would be crazy useful for this mission.
>>1117454Or better yet do it anyways and feign ignorance if hes an ally. This mission is damn important freindo.
>>1117447>I doubt it. What would be the motive?Jashinists using Leaf shinobi to find a jinchuuriki so they can abduct it, blaming the leaf and starting a war between the stone and the Leaf.
>>1117465I trust our anbu and hokage to see through that kind of stuff. And if we really are paranoid about this, we can prepare for it in mission.
So our mission outcomes are(from best to worst):1) We find Usagi, solve his problems, become best friends with him and together kill all the Jashinists2) We prevent Usagi from joining the Jashinists and things return to status quo3) We knock him out and book it to Iwa where he'll probably have the bijuu extracted and put into someone else, killing him4) We kill him on the spot before he can defect5) The bijuu gets out and goes on a rampage6) He joins the Jashinists My only point of concern is the order of 4 and 5. Is killing him before he can unleash the bijuu justified? Or is it better to let the bijuu rampage in the hopes of being able to recapture it?
>>1117458Holy shit this. Also ask for what the rank is.
>>11174854 and 5 aren't mutually exclusive though...
>>1117486It's a B rank mission. You're not expected to encounter heavy resistance, and it's not your objective to start a fight with Usagi. Just to bring him back to his village.
The three of you leave the office as a group. As you're going down the steps of the Hokage building, you nervously chuckle. "Just the three of us this time, huh? It'll be our first mission on our own as a group!" Ai nods. "Indeed. We'll have to refresh each other on synergies with our techniques. I'm sure we've all made considerable advances as time has gone on." Kichiro scratches his nose. "Uh, right, yeah. I mean, my plan hasn't really changed. Hit 'em really hard, huh?" You laugh. "It's not a bad plan. I've learned a lot of Jutsu...It'd be hard for me to think of them all on the spot."Kichiro crosses his arms. "Heh, show off." You all reach the bottom of the steps, and start to head down the main road. "I don't mean it like that!" you plead. "Just that I've been busy, lately. I've been trying to master the fire element. It's slow progress, but I've got at least one down!" Ai looks at you, blankly. "Hm. Any reason for that?""Well, I think it'd be a good mix of offense and defense. I've seen it in action a few times, and it's pretty powerful. Do you think you might try to learn another element, guys?" Kichiro shakes his head. "Nah, I'm all about fire! I might show you some stuff when we get back."Ai also shakes her head. "Lightning is sufficient for me. It suits the rest of the jutsu that I've been learning."You grin. "Right. I suppose you guys are specialized enough, that it'd just detract from improving what you already know. Well, I suppose I should start getting ready for tomorrow. We'll meet at the gate at five thirty in the AM. Sound good?" Kichiro gives a goofy salute. "Got it, boss!"Ai nods. "Yes, sir." You chuckle at your friends referring to you as a superior. "You guys don't have to do that. I'm not even sure I could beat the two of you if I had to."Kichiro makes a loud 'Pffft!' before stepping away. "Wasn't planning on it. You may be a really cool nerd, but you're still a nerd buddy. Catch you tomorrow morning." He goes off on his own, and you turn to Ai. "Well, I guess I should be getting ready. I've got some shopping to do for tomorrow. Maybe I could train a little bit, too.." She nods. "Right. I'll see you tomorrow morning. I must go home and prepare as well." The small girl turns and walks away without saying goodbye, probably too focused on the task at hand. It's about noon now. What do you want to do?>A. Go to the Weapon's shop.>B. Go to the training field and master Temple of Nirvana.>C. Go to the Academy and research a Jutsu.>D. Write-in
>>1117458Nah. We underdogs. We gotta fight a horde of immortal crazy people to save a potentially crazy super person while having low supplies and low stats cause Mini gets a super boner from it.
>>1117498>>B. Go to the training field and master Temple of Nirvana.
>>1117498>B. Go to the training field and master Temple of Nirvana.Because the thought of putting the undying jashinist horde to a restful sleep amuses me.
>>1117485I honestly think we should just kill him as a premtive measure. Hes already rogue, and while the info is nice id rather not take the chance. How bout this>place chakra hiding seal on ai>genjutsu her imediate surroundings so she makes no noise>have her booby trap the fuck out of that boys home>detonate from saftey when the cultists arrive And from there mabye kill off the remaining cultists. Mission done.>>1117498>B. Go to the training field and master Temple of Nirvana. This is top priority. We can make one last visit to the weapons shop later.
>>1117498>C. Go to the Academy and research a Jutsu.Operation brown note is a go.
>>1117491I'm pretty sure that killing the host kills the bijuu. They're essentially one thing once they're joined. >>1117498>D practice with the jet sheatheWe haven't used it even ONCE! It could be a real game-changer, we were neck and neck with our doppleganger last time, this could be the tie-breaker! The Temple of Nirvana could be useful though.
>>1117510Literraly just walk in the middle of their camp and have ai and kochiro decap all of them
>>1117498>>B. Go to the training field and master Temple of Nirvana.>>1117512We have to at least try to talk the kid out of joining the Jashinists before we kill him.
>>1117188Sorry for late answer, thread is moving rather fast. Unfortunately it's not a pulse of chakra, you need to constantly sustain the jutsu in order for the initial effect to take place. In general, if there's a downside for something, that downside cannot be removed.
>>1117498>B. Go to the training field and master Temple of Nirvana. If we can, do A after
>>1117517Meeeeh ok, fine. Can we booby trap before just in case.
>>1117512That's assuming he's in his house. That's also assuming he's ACTUALLY gone rogue, which he might not have. There's all sorts of spooky shit that could be potentially going down. I agree we should definitely keep the option open to take him out "just in case", but it shouldn't be plan A.
>>1117521We should at least put up some bell senbon though, you are right.
>>1117519Dawwww ok. So can seals not work like that or is the decision for balance?
>>1117498>B. Go to the training field and master Temple of Nirvana.
>>1117525Additionally we shouldnt be the one doing the negotiation i think. Ai would be much better at dealing with his personality.
>>1117528Seals can't hold chakra inside of them in general. That's for balance reasons. It's similar to far earlier in the quest how an anon was wondering if you could tattoo seals full of chakra and release them mid-fight for a refresher.
No takers on the jet-sheathe? That thing's most powerful in the surprise round, and that'll get negated if WE'RE surprised too!
>>1117538We train the temple, then get the sheathe and train with it too.
>>1117533So controlling the output would be impossible? Would we need to be in contact with the seal?
>>1117545I'm not sure what you're meaning anon.In general, you won't be making variations of techniques you already know unless they're fairly simple. The bell jutsu already takes a few steps, why would you want to make it more complex?
>>1117556So we can cut down on the time of casting them, if we can open a box to release a seal that leaks chakra into the bells then we dont need to wait putting the wires and stuff down in prep for releasing the chakra
>>1117569And when its in the box it wont really make any noise, cause its in a box. Which means the technique becomes superior. Mabye it needs to be recharged with a new seal after every use, but otherwise its superior.See my train of thought?
>>1117569>>1117574Seals can't control chakra that well. You need a human to move it, manipulate it, ect. The most a seal will generally be able to exude in terms of chakra is say, an elemental explosion, or a projectile. It's just too strong to be able to instantly paralyze everyone in the area based on sound, anyways. You guys have already cleared foe after foe with this move. I get your train of thought, but I'm not sure you're understanding mine. No removing downsides of things that have downsides, because those downsides are there for a reason.
>>1117576Ok, gotcha, i just placed more faith in seals than i should have really.
>>1117580They're admittedly wonky as hell, they do all sorts of weird stuff in the show that ranges from either near useless to totally broken
>>1117584In other words, the seals are naruto equivalent of jojo's stands, they are broken if used correctly
>>1117606sounds about right yeah. I mean, Orochimaru made a seal that could turn people into way stronger versions of themselves, acted as a horocrux to ensure his immortality, prepped them for body snatching, and probably a bunch of other shit too.
You weren't planning to do any training today, but now that you have a mission coming up, you want to be as prepared as possible. Seeing as you've already had some time to study the scroll, you may as well see if you can put the Temple of Nirvana technique to use. It's a fairly short trip to the training field. Opening up your pack, you take a look at the scroll again for a refresher. Pouring over it for a few minutes, you think you have a good idea of how to use it. The seals are simple enough, and you're becoming proficient at handling bursts of chakra of this size. You think that pretty soon, you'll be completely used to B rank jutsu. You somewhat wish that you were older, so your chakra pool weren't so small. It'll come with time, though. Going through the seals, you quietly strike a pose before saying the name of your jutsu. With an explosion of mental chakra in every direction, you create a gigantic field for the technique. Within this field, ethereal feathers start to form and fall from the sky. They have no effect on you, but for anyone not prepared with a Genjutsu Kai, they'll fall asleep. It's fairly simple to counter, but it's huge range of several hundred feet means that it'd be quite easy to catch a number of enemies off guard. Even if you don't get all of them. The feathers all swirl around you in a beautiful storm. You're wondering if you can actually make anything fall asleep, yet. It'd be better if you had a target to practice with.Just as you're thinking this, several birds drop out of the sky nearby. They hit the grass, suddenly waking up again from the impact and taking flight. Nearby you note a rabbit passed out mid-sprint, suddenly skidding to a stop. Seems that it works. You've mastered the Temple of Nirvana, and now feel confident to use it in a battlefield situation. As you cancel the technique, you feel a sudden drain of chakra similar to the Hydro Sword. You only have about five uses of a B ranked jutsu before you're exhausted, you guess. It's a ballpark figure, however. Many things factor into chakra consumption, and a technique like this where you're trying to control a field can be particularly draining. If you're in poor physical condition, it can be more difficult to control as well. You look over at the pond, where you once punched Mari in the face with a cheap shot. You chuckle at this memory. You've got enough time to go to one more location for the day, before your mission tomorrow.>A. Go to the Weapon's shop>B. Go to the Academy to research a new Jutsu>C. Write-in

Before it gets too late, you go to the Weapon's shop. As you enter, there doesn't seem to be anyone present at first. You step over to the counter and look around. The usual equipment is displayed, as well as the tools of the Sage. Most notably the large fan. Reaching onto the counter, you gently tap the service bell. It dings lightly, but there's nothing but silence.Ding. Dingding. Dingdingding. Hey, this thing's pretty fun. Dingdingdingding- A hand slams down on yours, the white sleeve of a kimono draping over it. You look up to see Mari leaning on the counter, looking annoyed. "What on earth are you doing?" You blink. "Starting a band. Can you play the bass?"She takes the bell and puts it under the counter, shaking her head. "You're such a smartass. I'm guessing you're here for some supplies?"You nod. "Yeah, that's right. Is your mom busy?"Mari walks over to a large locker full of explosives, and picks out a couple tags. Ten-ten has your usual order marked down on the computer at the front, on a sticky note. A restock of explosives, generic poison, bells, senbon, shuriken, Fuuma Shuriken, and any other weaponry you might be missing. It all totals up to be a sizeable chunk of cash, but you always make back more whenever you complete a mission. She hums as she moves around. "She's picking up some sort of special order from the Sand. Or maybe going there for a meeting? She didn't say, exactly. It's gonna be a few days before she comes back, so I'm watching the shop."You frown. "Doesn't that mean you can't train for the exams?" Mari places a Fuuma Shuriken on the table, and folds it up. She starts putting the equipment in bags. "Eh, when I'm here I can use the practice range all day. Plus, I think it's safe to say I'm more than prepared. Setting back such an advanced class of shinobi was a ballsy move on Naruto's part, if you ask me. You grin. "Well, it got you all to take your work more seriously, huh?"She rolls her eyes. "I guess." "We can't make it look cool, if that's what you were hoping."You shake your head. "Er, that's not what I meant. I was thinking that maybe you could sew some gear onto it. Pouches for holding more equipment, maybe some light fore-arm and shin guards. Also uh, dye it blue if possible. I don't have anything against green, but it's not the stealthiest color." She takes the suit from you. "Hmm, I see your point. Alright, I'll keep it here and tell mom about it. Shouldn't be too hard.""Thanks." you say with a grin. Another thought occurs to you. "Oh, and uh, another thing. When we went to go get something to eat, you suddenly stormed off at the end kinda." She blushes deeply. "Oh. Uhm. Well, I wasn't really mad at you. Just kinda frustrated in general. I mean, you didn't even let me pay for my own dinner."You blink, confused. "Sorry?"She shakes her head, and chuckles. "I don't think you're gonna get it. Just don't worry about it, okay? I wasn't mad, just embarrassed about something dumb. I'm over it though."You shrug. Girls are weird. Especially Mari, Sarada, and Ai. They don't seem to make much sense at all. "Oh well. I'm just glad you're not upset. Have a nice night." She grins. "You too." You head on home, and get into bed. You wake up extra early, since it's going to be a long journey. You have numerous dreams, all of which bleed in and out of each other in that familiar ethereal fashion. You have dreams of violence, but also of your closest friends. The fun times that you've had as well as the most horrific. The moments that define you as a person. When you awake, however, you remember nearly none of it. Groggily, you step into the shower and prepare for the long day. You gather your equipment, and meet Kichiro and Ai at the village gates. You look over the manila folder that Naruto gave you, containing all the necessary information for this mission. A map and directions, as well as a picture of Usagi and his home. It seems to be a fairly small shack, located on a cliff-side overlooking the entrance of the Stone. Kichiro looks as tired as you'd expected, but Ai is bright eyed. Not so bushy tailed, though she rarely, if ever is. Looking at your friends, you grin. "This'll be fun! It's the first mission we've had together since the last time we faced a Bijuu."Kichiro slaps his cheeks a little to help wake up. "I dunno about fun, but it'll sure be a challenge. You all start off, leaving your home behind. "How has your training been going, guys? Now's a pretty good time to tell each other about our new jutsu." Kichiro lights up a cigarette, opting to take the rear so he's not blowing it in anyone's face. "I'm about the same, honestly. My whole fighting style revolves around being better at what I can already do. In terms of totally new Jutsu, the only one is the Running Fire Jutsu. It's a B rank technique that lets me attack with a streak of fire that runs along the ground. Could be good for cutting someone off.""Cool." you say. "How well can you control it?"He thinks for a moment. "I have to hold still, but I can keep extending the line of fire as long as I pump chakra into the move. I'd just need one of you to cover me." You nod. "Right. How about you, Ai?"She's taking point, and doesn't turn to look. "I've learned some basic sealing jutsu, so I have weapons in these four small scrolls on my back. Some swords. I've also learned the Static Armor Jutsu. It's a one time usage technique that'll shock anyone who tries to physically strike me. Other than that, I've been working on my Taijutsu technique a lot. Oh, plus I've learned the False Sound technique so I can communicate with you, or use it myself. I realized that it could be used to interfere with any enemies who are also using the technique. I've also gone out of my way to learn how to channel Lightning Chakra into my weapons. At the moment, the most I can do it with is a kunai, but it's powerful. I can drastically increase the cutting power of a thrown weapon. How about you?"You think for a few seconds. It really does take you a little bit to recall everything that you've learned since you last spoke to them. "I suppose the biggest thing is the Summoning Jutsu. Now I can summon an Owl ally, who's capable of scouting things out for us. He's kind of a curmudgeon, but he's on our side for sure."Kichiro looks at you in surprise. "That's pretty darn impressive. How'd you manage to meet a clan of owls?" You grin. "The Sixth Hokage sent me on a special mission! It was kind of an interference with the actual mission, but everything turned out okay in the end. They're really secretive, live in this crazy tree-house city." He blinks. "Damn, that's cool. What else?"
>>1117970"There's the False Sense: Fatigue technique. It can make a target feel more tired than they actually are, after a little while. It can really screw with the way you move your body. Then there's also the Temple of Nirvana. It's a B ranked jutsu that's capable of putting a wide field of people to sleep, but it's easy enough to counter with Genjutsu Kai. It could be useful!" Ai turns and looks back at you. "Where did you learn that? That technique isn't in the library." You smile. "The owls gave me a scroll. They seem like they know a lot of older jutsu that some people have forgotten about. Oh, and one more! The Heated Steel Jutsu. It's the only Fire Element jutsu that I've really been able to master so far. Hopefully as I get a bit better they'll come faster." Kichiro and Ai both blink. "When did you learn that?" Ai says. "You weren't able to do that the last time we met, I don't think."You smile. "Once my party was done, I got right on it!"Kichiro guffaws. "You managed to learn a new element in a month!?" You shrug. "I'm still not that good at it."He shakes his head. "Sometimes I don't think you realize just how good you are, man.">A. Ask your friends something else>B. Time-skip to the start of the mission

>>1117994Learning a new element is a herculean feat for someone your age. Especially the one that's considered to be opposite to your personality. But you toughed it out and grinded 100% of your time for a few weeks to learning a basic technique. It's more about all the hard work you did in such a short amount of time, than the actual results gained. You gave up seeing friends and family, and training other things, just so you wouldn't be left behind in terms of offensive power. Or at least, setting the foundation for that. The vast majority of people on the planet don't have that sort of single-minded dedication.
>>1117994would they not just jump over it?
>>1118002Do we have like Saiyan level training dedication?

>>1118043Kek we finally got the cool invention we've been waiting forever for and then immediately forgot about it.
>>1118048So we can air-dash now. Nice.As for pulling our arm out of socket, that should become less of a concern as we do more strength training.
>>1118051Hey dude we got alot of shit on our plate. We can afford to dwell on our victories for too long.Onward and Upward
The three of you make it to the Stone after a long journey. Since it takes more than a full day to get there, you have plenty of time to test it out and get used to it. Kichiro and Ai are both impressed with the technology, as it lets you quite easily cut a log in half. The explosive burst of air also make it possible for you to dash out of the way while already suspended in air. You can't do it rapidly, partly due to the charge up time, partly due to strain on your arm.You guess that you can quite suddenly leap about five meters. It's not a huge amount of distance, but the high-speed will surely surprise people. Once you cross the border into the Stone, it's another few hours before you reach the capital. The landscape here is completely different from the Leaf. The trees that exist are barren and tough, used to long exposure to the sun. There's numerous cliff faces and deep valleys, and the roads are often blocked by rockfall. Overall the infrastructure is nearly impossible to deal with for any modern vehicle. Aside from planes, there's no way for mass transit to the Stone. This somewhat serves as a natural defense mechanism, though. This is all before you even begin to approach the Colossal wall that is the village gate.Far in the distance is a slab of clay earth so large it could be considered an artificial mountain. From this current angle, you can see none of the Village Hidden in the Stone. Probably what they were going for, all things considered. The countryside seems peaceful. There's very few people living outside of the major cities, so there isn't much crime out here. Your trip is relatively safe. The guide you've been given leads you to the cliff where Usagi's shack is, overlooking the road to the Stone you were just on. Up ahead, there's a number of people running in and out of the shack. Some of them seem to be carrying stuff, while others are beating at the walls with stones. It seems as if they're looting it and tearing it down. What do you want to do?>A. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-LKDTWpnDUYour brow furrows. You're angry, but you have to keep the mission at hand in mind. You can't just randomly go beating up the citizens of another country, even if they are doing something Illegal. But, you are allowed to do your job. No one can stop you from that. "Kichiro, Ai. Keep the stragglers from getting away. I wanna interview them all, personally." Your allies nod, understanding your intent. You start preforming handsigns. Someone walks out of the building holding a radio under their arms, and they spot you. They point and yell. "Leaf Ninja! Everybody cheese it!"As expected, the scum starts to scatter. You admit that you're not sure what exactly is going on here, but you're more than familiar with the stories of prejudice that your very own Hokage faced when he was younger. Not to mention the Kazekage, Gaara. It fills you with anger to think that people are still willing to treat ordinary people so hatefully. It's not like Usagi chose to have a monster put in him. If anything, you feel he should be respected for giving up a normal life. Not to mention he was a powerful foe. He was a shinobi full of dignity when you fought him. These people make him live out here, in a shack on his own?Suddenly you burst forward, slower than usual thanks to your training weights. It's still magnitudes faster than anything these people have seen, however. You grab the face of the one holding the radio, and push him forward to the ground as you mount him. With your hand on his face, he looks terrified. "W-what are you doing!? Get off me, h-hey!" In the distance, you can hear Kichiro and Ai striking out at the others. You feed the chakra into him. At once he goes limp while you invade his mind. He's barely able to resist at all, so it's a painless process for him. You be sure to only check the memories involving Usagi. You can see this very same boy throwing rocks, and yelling harsh words at a timid looking child. You also see Usagi fire off an arrow into someone's chest, killing them instantly. It's unclear whether or not he was just protecting himself, or if he agitated the situation in the first place. You can't imagine someone so stoic going out of their way to hurt someone like that, though. You start to dig deeper, but this one's mind doesn't have much more information. You step off of him, and head outside. Kichiro and Ai are holding a pair of goons, ready for their interview. You smile. "Hi, my name's Takeshi. Now, you can either cooperate, or end up like your friend back there."The half conscious man behind you is drooling from the corner of his mouth. He's fine, but having your mind forcibly invaded is a tad disorienting. ----That's all for tonight folks. I'll stick around to answer some questions.

If you can knock him out though, this would prevent this.As for whether or not him dying would release the demon, I think I'll refer to that scene where Kurama gives Naruto his chakra to prevent him from dying, when Jiraiya pushes him down the cliff. It's a gamble. The demon might do something crazy to try and save itself, but whether or not it'll work is the question. >>1118190You could drop them off at the gates pretty easy. They're petty criminals.
>>1118187Usagi doesn't have nearly as much of a murder boner. He's more of a hunter than a killer.
>>1118198If that's the case, I think using the Temple of Nirvana from a concealed position to knock out Usagi and anybody around him would be our best bet. That way we don't have to worry about a tailed beast fucking everything up again and we can get Usagi somewhere safe and try to ask why he went rogue.
>>1118198>>1118203Did Usagi have any freinds? He might be going Liam Neeson on someone.
>>1118220hopefully he had SOMEONE in his life that didn't hate him maby he has his own hinata or something.
>>1118203Is it possible to implant false memories using genjutsu? Or to erase/suppress true ones? In general, how much mind-fuckery is possible?
>>1118044Now I am even more sad about our STR gain being retconned out of existence.
>>1118267Just another reason to make even more gains anon. Always forward, never backwards.
>>1118220His squad likes them. But they've been specifically barred from going on this mission for two reasons. One, the Yu, the girlish boy who Ai fought in the tournament, is kind of a bitchy loudmouth and no one thinks that he'll be able to help Usagi. It'd just agitate him. Two, he has a crush on his other squadmate and everyone knows it. Don't want to agitate him.>>1118266You'd have to learn a different jutsu for each specific function. This jutsu only does what was done in this thread. The only way it could hurt someone is if they're heavily resisting and you have to force your way in.
Damn, I was too late. Thanks for running anyway Mini. Who's gotten the strongest out of all the participants in our Chunin Exam?
>>1118273How bummed are our team mates missing the exam? what are our chances reaching Jonin first?
>>1118273snow waifu when ?
>>1118310They're not too bummed, honestly. They know that if they complete this mission with you, it'll be considered heavily the next time they participate. It's almost a guaranteed pass. >>1118323Best girl won't have much more of a role at all in part 1. But in part 2 she'll be a major player, as the leader of her country.
>>1118310>>1118345Also be less prodigies next exam to instafuck them
>>1118345>It's almost a guaranteed passwhat is?
>>1118359Opting out of the exams for the good of your country. The reason they failed last time wasn't for lack of power, but for maturity. I mean, discounting the fact they lost their matches.
>>1118363Ah cool. So what are our chances of being first to jonin in our generation?
>>1118373Not that high. Things are only ever going to get harder the stronger you get. There's a reason most people only ever peter out at Chunin.
>>1118363Oh and when will you run again?
>>1118376Possibly this weekend. If not on Saturday then Tuesday.
>>1118375So how are you doing Jonin promotions? Never really got covered well in canon.
>>1118403It's different for everyone. You have to be personally selected, and you're always grouped with people you're not familiar with from your village. You're essentially thrown into a super shitty, stressful situation with allies you can't necessarily trust and given some damn near impossible task. It's possible that not everyone who participates will be able to pass. A la Kakashi's bells at the start of the series. But actually serious, and a life or death situation often.
>>1118420I'm down for this.
>>1118420>always grouped with people you're not familiar with from your villageSmash the system, personally greet and spend a day with every chunin in the village!
>>1118514>tin foil hat grows larger
>>1118514That'd be hard, there's thousands of you, not to mention all the ones stationed in foreign lands or on bases throughout the nation.
How long until we wake up too Orochimaru at the end of our bed there to give us the talk about being evil inside and how we should try to be good...despite how fun evil is.
So can we get that final vote on the name yet?
>>1118796Mini could we make a jutsu that does the water senbon, until they hit a target and have acid flow into it? Could we use a boil release to make a mist to make boil clones from?
>>1121240Acid clones would probably be easierAcid coated senbons or acid bullets could acheive the same thing as that acid senbon jutsu
>>1121252Acid as in liquid boil form, mist acid clones would be dope tho. Like exploding acid clones
>>1121252I was thinking something that'd dissolve into the person's body. Either Acid or poison since boil does both.
>>1121281I dont think jutsu allow for the tank shell level of complexity you propose, pretty sure only tech can do that, then again im not the qm.
Honestly I'd rather not try and become a copy of that guy in regards to Boil. Because I know if we ever bring it out against him, he'll use it against us.
>>1121311I mean poison senbon, (senbon made of poison) would be great. and it'd definitely slow jashinists down.
>>1121311Of course, but other ninja wont be able to counter as easily.
>>1121313Well thats draining chakra instead of money, which in a life or death situation i would rather drain money for equipment than precious chakra. Unless we have the opportunity and are out of equipment.
>>1121326The thing with Boil release it's basically the chemistry set of releases. WE can make poisons, acids, bases, explosives, alcohol or the like with it. It has a stupid high utility, and even making the same jutsu with a slightly different effect would be vicious.>Boil release: Alcohol Mist>Any fire at allGG
>>1121340That combo is good, but unless its more efficient than fire it wont be as good in combat. Mabye better for plans and traps, but not direct combat. The point i was previously trying to make was that we should conserve our chakra and abilities when possible and use equipment instead. That way we can fight for longer and generally have more options in and out of battleIts already established that a chemistry combo like boil is useful. Im more concerned with chakra efficiency.
>>1121355Kichiro likes fire remember? Soak the area around an enemy in alcohol, then boom. aoe of fuck you.
>>1121364Yeah, i could see that amplifying the technique. But i dunno if it would be *that* effective its a two step process magn
>>1121374It's not going to be super armor and jutsu piercing like a Chidori or Rasengan. Doesn't need to be. It's main draw is surprise. Every jutsu we cast needs to be accounted for because if you slip once? You're fucked.
I cant imagine something as simple as pure ethanol would be difficult to make on the 'poison' scale in jutsus. If it's something we can just spew out practically ad-infinum, then we have a very potent debilitating mist.Especially if used against lil genin and chunin teens/kids. And I cant imagine many people will stock a hangover cure on mission.
>>1121400Ethanol does seem really easy to make. So glad were going down the intelligence rout, our plans are going to be god tier. Kaguya, eye niggers and jinchuriki btfo takeshi is coming for your ass.
>>1121400>>1121426You know what else is fun? Bases. Neutralize acids, can eat away things just as badly, and are slippery as fuck.
>Learning Boil release just to make copious amounts of alcoholNinja brewery when?
>>1121436Well, what could be fun is if we harnessed the process of saponification with some good ol' alkali. Literally turn people into soap.
>>1121436>>1121458Fuck chakra consumption my mad science boner is reaching the moon.
>>1121475Watch out, world.
>>1121458If we make pure alkali metals we have instant bombs, just add water.
>>1121508Thoroughly encased in clay, and throw it at your enemies. Drop from a height, break from a distance. Nonfamily freindly and suprise ninja tool. Francium bombs, Get yours today! at boil.co
>>1121508>>1121535Explosion release btfo, boil coming through.
>>1121535>>1121573>Takeshi's fw he's a socially accepted Orochmaru.
>>1121577>socially acceptedNot so much after we create the shit your pants no jutsu...
>>1121773Nah, just nausea jutsu, only those with weak constitutions will shit themselves and/or vomit.
>>1121784>Wrecking some famous ninja>He's on the ropes>Hit him with PANTS-A-SHIT no jutsu>Decapitate with jet blade while the body shits itself >Rules of nature in the background
>>1121809Given the necessary effects that'd be a Tsukuyomi tier genjutsu. Be easier to paralyze him at that point.
>>1121822Mini already said its B-rank if it were to exist.
>>1121822>>1121825It'd have some limitations like the delivery method, range, specific effects, ect. I'd have to think about it
>>1121436fun fact; bases aren't slippery, they eat through proteins which means if you ever touch a base, it's actually eating through your skin and muscles and the slippery feeling is the fats in those tissues being released.shit's nasty
>>1121822Why not both? Vomit would have the effect of cutting off people when they're trying to use a jutsu as well as being a choking hazard, while shitting their pants has a much more traumatizing psychological blow. They'd both have certain advantages and disadvantages, but I think we should learn both.
>>1122600yeah but unless it's a ranged technique it's borderline useless. Stabbing them is faster.
>>1124644Why wouldn't it be a semi ranged technique? Also there's gonna be times when we can't just stab people, making intestinal disruption a good backup/diversion.
>>1124675Because generally the more powerful/complicated the technique the shorter the range. Also knock the fuckers out if stabbing isn't viable.
>>1124684I figure technique like this can't be more complicated than our Paralysis Jutsu. A jutsu like this isn't even about being practical, it's more about being mentally debilitating anyways.
>>1124702Physically as well never mind the 'oh shit i just crapped/threw up' moment.Really helps with tracking as well.
>>1124732>Damn! I didn't think he'd be that fast after that...>Hey Takeshi! I think I got something!>What'd you find?>...Hershey's Chocolate?
>>1124748I was thinking more about the smell. But i guess that works if they are wearing shorts or something
>>1124644>borderline uselessYou're completely ignoring the psychological effect of shitting one's pants. The vomit could be used to interrupt jutsu as well.
I don't want to encourage this behavior, but I can't deny the potential effectiveness
>>1125808Don't worry. As much as I'd enjoy it, I don't think we're gonna be able to master Bowel Release for obvious reasons.
>>1125808It would undeniably become a forbidden jutsu if the hokage found out about it.
Bump test. If this thread still bumps I'll be posting here, if not a new thread is coming.
