    Connecting to it is kind of similar then what happens when you gain Software upgrade for your ZP at home but different in the sense that the data does not stream inside you at high speed. Instead you have to find the information and call it down.

    There is not much useful information in this one you do not even understand most of it, just endless series of numbers everywhere that make no sense to you. You can find some bits and pieces about this place. It was created very very long ago, it seems that your race slept for more than a millennia for you now it is impossible to determine when.

    You start hear a pulsing and humming noise that quickly gets louder, the leader immediately freezes when he hears the noise and waves at you all to hug walls take cover.

    You take your rifle and brace yourself for a fight and wait. After awhile the humming noise starts to die down a bit. You feel a bit relieved. Leader orders you on the interface to check out the previous room since you are in the best angle to peek out.

    Holding your rifle tight you move to the door and peek out into the previous room, looking towards the left you see that the southern door is once again closed looking towards your right see the source of the humming and buzzing noise that was heard earlier.

    You recognize a Bio-drone, you have heard of them but you have never actually seen one before let alone to experience seeing it in action, above all to be facing it on your first encounter with it. You cannot determine which way it is looking it seems which is the front or back or side, especially not in the current dim light.

    Mate I think I forgot to mention that I decided to take on the request of players and use D20 instead of D100 for combat to make it less random. Nevertheless I ll take your roll for now, please use D20 from now on.

    You silently fall back without notice and inform the squad about the situation, the leader says that the bio drone has very accurate lateral sensors and that it needs to be eliminated before you can move on.

    Squad leader says that it should be dealt with suppressing fire and it should not be allowed to get close because it automatically self destructs after sustaining lethal damage which could be very troublesome for the squad. Unless a Thermic lance can drill trough it’s power supply before it explodes but that is not advised. It would be great to use DPL but you do not have any right now.

    Man, it's a shame no more people are interested in XCOM quest thread. It seems Lupin and me (sometimes, since this quest runs at very late time for me) are the only ones interested.

    Maybe if you did the quest from the point of view of XCOM leader/rookie/something. Making bases, upgrading them, hiring people. To make it interesting the hires are not just some faceless cannon fodder but actual interesting characters or something... I don't know.
    Would be great with more people.

    I thought about that but the main problem with that is basically it would be same just the same thing as the normal game, which can do that better than I can on my own. Also it would be very repetitive and ultimately boring like the real game is.

    This Quest still has a story that will deviate from the game cannon you just need to get there.

    Indeed Friday and Saturday evening are prime time for the most popular quests like Frost Giantess Quest and Zeon Quest. I wish I had other times for doing it I haven t tried doing it earlier but I might if you guys think it would help, staying up until so late does hurt my weekend somewhat.

    Three grenades make it to the other room but one that came from 32 at the most far end corner misses and the grenade bounces back int o teh room you all take cover and brace for explosion.

    The 3 grenades detonate in the other room, the one that bounced back ironically went straight for 32, lucky for him he was fast enough to jump out of the corner and behind the debris that comes from the collapsed corridor from the south. He survived that with minor damage and the rest of the group is not hurt.

    After the shattering noise from the explosions silences you listen closely but you can still hear the buzzing noise from a bio drone’s engine it is getting closer now. The previous room’s space is now with particles of debris sand and dust it is really hard to see. This is unlucky, you know that bio drones do not see but have lateral sensors.

    Wrong, the weak part is under it, and that is not glass it is transparent aqua plastic, similar to the one that covers your eyes.

    Your team pelt the bio drone with sonic fire it takes two direct hits on its hull and surprisingly it self destructs immediately, seems the grenades you threw did do damage to it.

    You both throw your grenades into the other room and they explode violently. After the blast is over you start listening but you hear nothing. This time you managed to get the bio drone at its weak point from underside.
