I don't know about you gentlemen, but the weather over here in england has been positively balmy.
Still no sunshine, but let's not ask for the impossible eh?

Once again it is the year Universal Century 0079. You are ace mobile suit pilot Lt. Cmmdr David Lister of the principality of Zeon, and for the last 6 or so months, you've been fighting the Federation in the name of spaceborn independance.

In the aftermath of our last campaign, your forces mounted a daring assault on Jaburo, destryoing several enemy mobile suits and destroying much of the enemies ship-building capacity. The federation counter attacked, and the 1st Federation Division surged through middle america and up through Mexico, where you fought to stop their crushing advance.

In the end you were able to defeat the 1st division, but at a cost: your mothership, the Zanzibar Kai class Assault Cruiser: "Outer Heaven" took crippling damage and was forced to retreat back to California for repairs, leaving you to face off the federation forces heading to Nuevo Laredo. Which you did with your trademark effectiveness.

This brings us up to date.

Your team: The elite independant corps: The Nachtmaren Unit was sent back to California a day after the battle of Neuvo Laredo.
You are arrive without incident (for a change) and are met by Garma Zabi himself as your Fat Uncle transports touch down.

"It's good to see that once again you all made it back Liuetenant Commander."

"It's good to BE back Lord Garma, conducting military operations in places I can't pronounce get's old kind of fast." You reply.

    Garma laughs.

You store your Mobile Suits and make it back to your barracks area in central command, where you're able to get an update on the situation.

The Outer Heaven took heavy damage, and wont be out of the California dockyards for 2 weeks. During that time, personel have been loaned to various other posts. Captain Fontaine for instance is now the Captain of Lord Garma's Gaw. Your unit has been assigned to Lord Garma as well during the repairs, but as an idenpendant unit instead of his personal Honour Guard like last time.

Also, everybody apart from you get's a 1 rank promotion.

Hovis Goddard is now a: Corporal
Elaine "Ruubens" Arronax is now a: Private 1st Class
Calvin Hobart is now a: Private 1st Class

Usually this would result in your unit getting split up and reassigned to various places in need of a Lt and what not, but since your an independant unit, this doesn't apply.

Things seem to be quiet, no enemy naval activity, skies are clear as a far as Canada and you've heard no rumours about mysterious enemy Mobile Suits.

No, that IS the rank increase everybody got from Jaburo, it's just you were the only one to get awarded it right then and there. The rest had to wait until they got back to base before receiving official confirmation by post.

"Denim, Gene, Slender I have picked you because your skills ideally match the mission we face. As you know, we've been sent on a secret reconnaisance mission to side 7. Zeonic intelligence thinks that in spite of Side 7's vaunted neutrality, they have in fact thrown their pride as Spacenoids away and sided with the earth Federation. But worse than that, is that intelligence fears that they may be testing out Federation mobile suits there! It is our mission to discover the accuracy of these possiblities by infiltrating Side 7. And if they have enemy mobile suits, we are to capture or destroy them at all costs!"

"Aye, Aye Captain Char!" Reply the 3 men as they salute.

"As you know we have just entered total radio silence, from now until the completion of our mission we will be totally alone, deep behind enemy lines. There can't be any mistakes here gentlemen, but I know you are the men for the job."

A young girl, no more than 14 knocks on the front door of a single floor home. She frowns her freckled brow as she receives no answer and then knocks a second time.

Still receiving no answer, she sighs, brushing stray brown hair from her short bob out of her eyes, and produces a keycard which she uses to unlock the door. She enters the house, as usual it's a mess, though not as bad as she's seen it in the past, she removes her shoes and moves through the living room and enters one of the bedrooms.
Inside a boy is using the computer, as always.

"Amuro! You've got to listen for people knocking on the door when your fathers away!"

    "Whatever Frau Bow."

    >What did we learn from that gundam that we sent here with the Outer Heaven?

Whilst work on the model is still in the early stages of analysis the following has become evident:
The frame was partially made out of that new Luna-Titanium alloy that the Federation have discovered. However certain parts were only armoured with standard Hardened Steel. This implies that there is a resources bottleneck the creation of Luna-Titanium, most likely the Lunarium from Von Braun.

Command is toying with the idea of blockading cargo ships found carrying Lunarium from Von Braun, but since it's a Neutral Luna colony, that would probably cause more problems than it would resolve.

Whilst the insides were heavily, near totally destroyed, what they were able to salvage from the wreck indicates that Federation mobile suits are equipped with Massive energy reserves, no less than 7 Fusion bottle reactors are housed behind it's hardy Luna-Titanium shell, which explains it's high level of mobility. The multiple reactor design has given some of Zeons MS design teams some ideas as well.

The Rick Dom refit is now being built.
The Dom Funf prototype is built, it's modular design will lead to the Unified Parts Plan in roughly 6 to 9 weeks.
A small run of MS-08 Efreets has been made.
A viable design of the Gouf Flight Type is available, but refit time is semi-lengthy, requiring at least 5 days work. Nor is the design being produced outright, only as a refit package.

Rick Dom: Dom outfitted for space combat. Replaces hoverjet thrusters with rockets.

Efreet: We tested this in Pezun. Sort of a super-Gouf.

Dom Funf: all-environment Dom with hardpoints for various types of equipment. Can be refitted to the Dom Tropen desert type. Also can carry the massive 990mm Rakaten bazooka.

Gouf Flight Type: FLYING MS. However, it's still slow, maneuvers like a pig, and one of the prototypes blew up in midair, killing the test pilot.

We upgrade as many Doms as we can and maybe the Efreet to Elaine? Zolomons custom as kept him happy so far, but maybe we could see if the old girl can get any updates. >Now can someone tell me about all these new MS that are being developed? Onyl one that sounds familiar is the Rick Dom, and I still don't know what it is.

Okay, the Rick Dom is a space type refit for the Dom. In the war, it and the Rick Dom 2 were far and away the fastest space type Mobile Suit in production, although with their great weight that doesn't translate into agility. They're pretty much the Drag Racer of Mobile Suits.

The Dom Funf was a modular testbed design. Only one was built, but from that design were going to get things like the Dom Tropen and possibly the Xamel as well. It's modular design will also help advance something called the Universal Parts plan, where all mobile suits will be built using a common set of pieces.

This initiative results in the Zaku Kai, Rick Dom 2 and Gelgoog Jaeger, possibly the MS-18 Kampfer as well. All of them excellent mobile suits that in canon, appeared to late to turn the tide.

Also, on the subject of the Gelgoog. The first prototypes should be complete with beam weapons in about a month.

Oh and before I forget, the Pezun Project mobile suit development has been accellerated as well.
    >> Researcher Sam 03/19/10(Fri)14:12 No.8664902
    And then into the Tropens.

Also, and I realize that I might be beating a dead horse by bringing it up again, but can we try suggesting the reinstatement of the 120mm MGs for the tougher suits like the Dom? Or designing a more powerful MG for them, since they can handle the recoil much better than a regular Zaku.
    >> Tzeentch !OJ4s9gRCow 03/19/10(Fri)14:14 No.8664912

Given how long Kampfer was used for, it should be given the most importance, and we should get one soon as we're able to.
    >> Zeta Zaku 03/19/10(Fri)14:15 No.8664935

Go watch your Gundam Sam. 120mm MG still don't do much to a Gundam. But a better MG is definitely a worthy cause.

Anyway; Finalizing again; Request an Efreet, and the first 3 Funf upgrade kits for our Doms. If we can't get the first 3, we'll take the earliest we can get, but seeing as how we're the ones that are currently turning the Dom into a goddamn terror-weapon, it should be us.

    >routing some commissioning papers for her

Professional development is serious business in Nachtmaren. We'll need some to volunteer for a collateral duty of being or Enlisted-to-Officer commissioning program. As Zol is currently the only other officer, we should delegate to him in rder to further promote is management skills. We've kind of snubbed in for his lack of leadership, this will be a nice way of showing him we care for his future and aren't just letting him get stale.

One day this war will be over and we'll need bright, good sense officers to keep Zeon from devolving into lazy pretty boys/girls who joined the military to kill time.
    >> Researcher Sam 03/19/10(Fri)14:20 No.8664982
It's not necessarily about the Gundam. We're starting to face Feddie mobile suits that aren't as heavily armored as THE Gundam (which also had Plot Armor in addition to Lunar Titanium.), and as such the smaller 90mm, while good against tanks and ground attack vehicles, might not be the best thing to bring against them. So far, our MG rounds have done pretty much nothing, so if we can get an improved MG design in the works that's actually capable of harming the enemy MS, then it would allow non-specialized forces like us to stand a chance.
    >> MS-06FUCKYEAH !!rJGvHLVN3on 03/19/10(Fri)14:22 No.8665000
Historically the 90mm was effective against everything the 120mm was. Sure wrecked GMs any time it was around. Not sure if this will extend to Gundam (G)s, but it very well might.

He's been part of Garma's Honour Guard since you left him. According to his dossier, he took part in the Naval battle of California that you ended a while back, he's also fought alongside Garma in about three other engagements.

As for Ramirez, he's seen plenty of frontline action as he was stationed in Mexico and Arizona. Mostly insurgents and Federation Holdouts, Don Martin and Nuevo Laredo was his first major battles.

We only have one extra slot for a MS on the Outer Heaven. It's not going to do wonders for team morale if we keep benching someone every battle.

Anyway, it looks like Shiro actually has more frontline experience then Ramirez. Ramirez is a survivor, no doubt, but our missions are far more demanding then what he's probably used to.

You've only got one more free MS slot on the Outer Heaven, so what would he do? They're not going to let you take a pilot off the front lines just to twiddle his thumbs are they?

So, what do you want to do for the next few days since you haven't been ordered to do anything, and the Outer Heaven is in the shop?

Yeah, but the Efreet Custom at least (which only features extra weapons.) can move like the Dom. At least it does in the Blue Destiny Manga. (I own it.) It can switch between walking and boost charging. If we could make the hover-boost its primary movement method, it'd be perfect.

Captain Char is going to persue the enemy Carrier, and as of now all of Zeonic forces on Earth are on full alert. Begin running simulations against the suit Bandit was in, and adjust its power levels accordingly. (Kinda like what Amuro did for the Gouf with a Zaku J. I know its not a great idea, but its the best we can do right now.) Inform our team of what Garma told us, and let them know that shit is probably gonna get real soon.

This guy makes a great fucking point. But do remember, Amuro had trouble with a standard Gouf. (That was with Ral piloting it though.) A B3 is much better than that. And Zol in his B3 beat us in our Efreet on Pezun, so don't jump to conclusions. And Dom's are fucking Rape regardless. While we may not be able to mount on Dodai's, our ability to outclass anything we engage on the ground is very very very important.

    Dom Vs Efreet

The Dom has a higher ground speed and can swiftly change direction whilst hoverjetting.

The Dom has the blinding Scattering Particle Spray.

The Dom can fire it's 330mm whilst on the move.

    Their armour is roughly equal.

The Efreet has greater jump thrusters and agilty.
The Efreet can duel weild light and even medium weapons without great loss of accuracy or damage to the joints.
The Efreets close combat ability can be superior (depending on loadout)
The Efreet has a smaller profile.
The Efreet can use a Dodai

Wo fared better against Federation aircraft so far? Zolomon or David? I honestly do not remember.

Seeing that Dodai mounted suits are our (Nachtmachen's not Zeon's) mainstay for combating enemy fighters (apart from flak), whoever is better at dealing with them should be in the Dodai-capable MS.
    >> MS-06FUCKYEAH !!rJGvHLVN3on 03/19/10(Fri)17:10 No.8667718
    Way to Meta.

So if we get Ook to improve the Thruster specs on the Efreet and possibly design some recoil comp. for the 330mm, the only leg the Dom has up on the Efreet is the Scattering Beam Gun. If we can get it up to Dom Specs, I think its worth giving it to David. Ramirez could do better in a Dom, IMO.
    >> Researcher Sam 03/19/10(Fri)17:10 No.8667728
Zolomon has more Aircraft kills than us. It's those crazy Heat Hawk throws of his. Taking down an entire wing of Fin Fans and whatnot.

Maybe we should review our combat data against the feddies Gundams and develop an uplifting primer for Zeonic forces? So they dont stumble into shit blind. Gundam or not.
    >> Researcher Sam 03/19/10(Fri)17:12 No.8667766
Even with enhanced recoil comp. I'm still not sure it would be able to fire the 330mm while moving like the Dom can, especially if it's on a Dodai at the same time.
    >> Anonymous 03/19/10(Fri)17:12 No.8667768

Well, the reason I gave in >>8667659 is meta, sure, but there's a lot of other in-game reasons to request to be sent up to face the Gundam. For instance, we have the most experience in fighting Federation MS units than any other unit in Zeon.
    >> MS-06FUCKYEAH !!rJGvHLVN3on 03/19/10(Fri)17:13 No.8667781
We're already doing that. And its a Tactical Thesis not a goddamn uplifting primer. And I think David is better suited for the Efreet if we can get it up to Dom specs. It sounds like a little too high-end for Ramirez.
    >> Researcher Sam 03/19/10(Fri)17:14 No.8667815
Too high-end for Ramirez maybe, but Zol would probably be able to really wreck stuff with it, and Ramirez could use the Gouf. I'll admit, I'm really attached to our Dom and would prefer that we keep piloting it.

    >And Zol in his B3 beat us in our Efreet on Pezun, so don't jump to conclusions.

Exactly, he beat us in, forgive me if I'm wrong, an inferior suit. It just seems most beneficial to give him a suit that would increase his ability to melee it up, though I do agree both choices have their pros and cons.

However, a few people stated we want to keep David as a well rounder, the Dom seems much better suited to that than taking the CC focused Efreet for ourselves.
    >> MS-06FUCKYEAH !!rJGvHLVN3on 03/19/10(Fri)17:16 No.8667856
True. Dom's are godly. But if we can get the Efreet up to the Dom's mobility specs, I think David should take it. Its a much more well rounded suit. And Zol has key experience with one weapon that may be the most important weapon on the team should we go up against the Gundam, which is the Heat Rod. I'd rather have Zol and his fucking Hax behind that than Ramirez.
    >> Anonymous 03/19/10(Fri)17:16 No.8667864
We should request the gun cam footage from Char's engagement with the gundam and try to figure out a way to destroy it.

Efreet CAN be CC focused, but not necessarily. See Apologised's post on it. I think the Efreet is a much better suit for David, again, if we can get it to something approximating the Dom's mobility.
    >> Researcher Sam 03/19/10(Fri)17:17 No.8667889

    >> MS-06FUCKYEAH !!rJGvHLVN3on 03/19/10(Fri)17:18 No.8667911
Heat Rod is integral to the Gouf. So unless we modify it on there, probably not. I'd be much more willing to leave Zol in his Gouf.

    >Ramirez could do better in a Dom, IMO.

    I think so, too.

Also, David has a knack for testing stuff (or he just likes it...).

So I'd say for the time being it's David in the Efreet, Ramirez in David's old Dom, and Zolomon still in his Gouf.

If the Efreet works out for us, we could probably request a second one for Zolomon. If it turns out to be not so good, we just get another Dom.

    >Begin running simulations against the suit Bandit was in, and adjust its power levels accordingly.

The Efreet arrives as planned, you go to the hanger to talk to Ookawara there about pimping it out.
You find that Zolomon is already there talking with Ookawara.

"Look, we can't put a giant spiked ball on the end of your heat rod! The things attatched to your forearm!"

"Well, how about just making me a ball on a retracting line of some kind? I could store it on the weapons pod or something!"

"I have seen the footage of you fighting that thing you know! There's a reason the thing had built in thrusters!... Look, I'll ask around, maybe there's some old funny project with something similar, okay?"

    "Thanks man! That'd be great."

You walk past Zolomon as he leaves, you both wave at each other as you pass.

"What do YOU want?" Ookawara asks.

"About the Efreet, is there anyway we can get the hoverjets up to Dom standard?"

"Not without completely replacing the legs, which would bugger the mobility up. The backpack thrusters pushing a fair bit of power, and whilst we could probably find a way to boost the output, we don't have decent enough heat shielding to make any kind of use for it without melting the vents. Remember back in the Zaku, when you used to to that all the time with your unplanned HANO drops onto the enemy?"

"That was only unplanned a couple of times! So, what about some kind of built in weapons?"

"Not a clue, I'll have a look though, some of the old Desert Zaku's wrist vulcans might work. Head Vulcans are going to be out though. Anything more involved than that would involve a weeks works or worse."

"Well, tell me if you come up with anything."

In the meantime, having told the unit about the new enemy mobile suit, everyone's on edge. You've got them practicing Anti-MS drills, with Ramirez using old El Muerto Grande.

Let's start training in the Efreet then. Split time between it and our Dom. Have Ramirez split time between Muerto and the Dom. Begin customizing loadouts for the Efreet. Have standard Loadouts ready for Anti-MS, Anti-Air, and Anti- Ground (Tanks and Land Battleships) for the Efreet. We'll make the call on what we want. I'm leaning toward the Efreet. The added ability to Jump along with Scooting at Dom Prototype velocities has me very very intrigued. We also don't lose any armor, which was my primary worry.

    Efreet Loadouts-
Primary Ranged: Mixing and Matching between 2 Zaku Zooks, 2 90mms, 2 120mms, and 1 330mm 'zook (We can't dual wield those, right?).
Primary Melee: 2 Heat Sabers, Heat Rod if possible. (Which I don't think it is).

    Everyone else; Standard Loadout.

Focus- Anti-MS Training, with a focus in engaging enemy high-performance MS.
Get Ramirez used to the Dom. Get him used to the 330mm 'zook.
    Elaine can train him.
David and Zol work on Melee drills together. Hopefully we can pick up some of his tricks.

You begin practicing in this configuration, working out different weapons loadouts for the Efreet, making sure Ramirez has the skills to handle a Dom, when the call from head command comes in. You immiediately go to Garma's study.

"The time has come gentlmen." He simply states.

"As you know, Captain Char and his mobile suit team has been pursuing the enemy from Side 7. We know believe that the enemy Carrier, codenamed by Zeon command as the Trojan Horse.. [a picture of it appears on a projector screen behind him, you recognise it as the ship that escaped Jaburo on the day of your attack.] is trying to make an atmospheric descent to Jaburo. Efreet is ground type only. Sorry.

So, over all call seems to be Elaine.

The three of you all take identical loadouts and then await the launch.

In the mean time, Garma takes to the skies with his Gaw's and a heavy percentage of California's Dopp forces. He will be patrolling around the suspected drop site, to intercept the enemy if they should make a successful re-entry.

You salute him as he leaves, and then turn to your own mission.

Two tense hours follow. But eventually your hastily refitted Rick-Doms (it's mostly just working on the legs, and adding some software adjustments) are ready and the HLV is fueled.

You can't mount a Heat Rod on a Dom. Sam, you need to work on your MS Fu. The Heat Rod is only mounted on the Gouf and Gouf variants. It's an integral weapon. The reason it's so important against the Gundam is it can paralyze it. Watch the Ramba Ral arc of Mobile Suit Gundam to understand what I'm talking about.

The three of you surge ahead at an impressive velocity within 10 minutes you've passed into the Trojan Horses combat zone. Still no sign of Char and his time, were they not expecting you this soon? These are very fast suits...

In any case as you swing around you and Elaine send a shot from your Bazooka's at the now retreating Salamis. You don't bother to see if they hit, you do notice however a Re-Entry capsule from the ship has been launched and is currently leading the Trojan Horse onto it's re-entry.

You swing your Rick Dom's hard about and move in on the Trojan Horse, the Flak guns begin firing. The caliber isn't very high, but enough of them could give you serious problems.

You send a 330 at it's engine block from underneath. It hit's the superstructure, which sends fragments of armour plating everywhere but doesn't harm the engines. Two other seperate explosions blossom on the right cargo bay and the left wing. The wing bends but doesn't shear, and although the crater is pretty big and wide, the left cargo bay doesn't appear to have been breached.

    This is one tough carrier.

Still so sign of Char Aznable.

Yeah. Keep him occupied while Zol and Elane kill it.

Fight low-risktaking. Make good use of our speed and don't get hit. The aim is to keep him busy while the rest of the squad takes out White Base. If we see an opening, sure, take it, but don't push our luck against a goddamn Gundam.

Leave Elaine to engage the Trojan Horse. Have her target Flak Nests, Beam cannons, and Engines. But IF SHE CAN, I want her to put a 330mm down the hatch of the MS Catapult. It should still be open.

Zolomon and David engage the Feddie MS. David goes high, surging down with Rick Dom Speed, firing his 330mm. Zol comes in equally fast from below just after we attack and to the left, leading with his 'zook, then immediately closing into close combat, performing a flurry of attacks, then falling back while David covers him.

    >No, that would end badly. Us and Zol, for safety. This thing is supposed to be much stronger than the Gundam we already fought, and we had trouble with THAT without going one on one!

Okay so you two are going to concentrate on the enemy Mobile Suit whilst Elain attacks the Trojan Horse.

The two of you move in to engage the enemy. It sends out a Hyper Bazooka shot your way and you barely dodge it. The engineers weren't kidding when they said the handling of this thing wasn't great.

You return fire and although your shot is accurate, it defends with it's heavy shield. The shield abosrbs the blast, though it's clearly looking a little worse for wear and the pilot then dodges Zolomon's bazooka shot, he then fires at Zolomon. Solomon's Rick Dom spins to avoid, but the blast catches him in the leg. He spirals away, trailing smoke from his leg.

"Don't worry boss! It's only light damage! I just have to tone down the other leg thrusters to compensate! Keep concentrating on him!"

You make another high speed pass on the enemy mobile suit, the final shot in your Bazooka takes out his shield, and he does no damage to you with his return.

You finally see that Char Aznable has launched, but also...

Shit. A squadron of enemy Saberfish have entered the combat zone from somewhere and are engaging Char's team and Elaine.

You move close to try and get the pilot to surrender. Hopefully he doesn't notice the enemy planes coming to his ships aid.
This will have to be quick, time's running out.

As you move in close, he hurls the bazooka (presumably empty) at you. You push it away and he sprays your suit with head vulcans. Your armour holds but protests at the beating. You've already taken some hits from the Trojan Horse.
Since it's now or never you try to signal him.

"Enemy Mobile suit! Stand down and Surrender and you will not be harmed!"

The Mobile Suit does nothing for a second and then raises it's arm outwards.

"Lt.Cmmdr Lister! Look out!" Comes Chars call over the Laser Comm network.

The outstreched arm catches a spiked ball on chain, identical to the one you fought against in Jaburo.

Well, it looks like there's your answer.

It swings the ball outwards and you use your thrusters to dodge backwards, the ball mounted verniers flare however and the spiked ball darts at crushing speed towards you. In the end you have to try and block with with your empty Bazooka. The weapon crumples with the blow, but at least you don't take any damage.

The weapon retracts back into the enemy Mobile Suits hand.

"Lt. Commander we've got a problem here, these Saber fish are backed up by a Federation Capital Ship Squadron! They're moving to try and cut us off from the Trojan Horse! Please advise!" Come's Elaines call over the Laser Comm.

Ask Elaine for range of the Cap Ship squadron. If we have time, continue attacking the Trojan Horse. Damage its Engines and Launch Capabilities if at all possible. The Trojan Horse is now beginning to enter re-entry positions. The enemy ships consist of one Magellan class Battleship and a pair of Salamis class Cruisers. The targeting computer recognises their signatures as the Battleship Holmes and the Cruisers Schulhof and Botany. Theirs a notation stating that the Black Tri-Stars encountered them two days ago, but weren't able to finish them off. They must have been recently repaired in Luna 2.

You find Zolomon some distance away, the Gundam appears to think that you are disarmed and it's now moving back to the Trojan Horse as you likewise disengage.

Make use of our Rick Dom's ridiculous speed to make fast lateral and Vertical passes on the enemy Battleships. Have Zol focus on their Engines with his 'zook. Focus on the Magellan unless we're subject to overlapping flak, in which case, pick off the Salamis first.

As you dash in close, the enemy ships begin firing off their beam cannons at you, but luckily your great speed and oblique arching approach make you next to impossible to target. The federation has simply never encountered an enemy mobile suit this fast before.

First up, the Battleship, you get it's attention with your 90mm. The gun doesn't do much, but flak turrets and beam guns swivel towards you as you strafe the ship, giving time for Zolomon to fire a round into it's underside, make a high angle turn, send a round into the general area occupied by the bridge before one last shot into the engine. Secondary explosions begin to wrack the ship, it's firing becomes sporadic and even less coordinated.

With your trails looping across each others path in a wildly erratic approach, the first enemy Salamis struggles to bracket you without hitting his companion. Zolomon fires his first shot at the bridge, but the hit is wild and takes out the rear Beam turret.
He darts to the left, draws his Heat saber and scores a deep renting groove from stern to fore with it.
Sparks fly from the white hot line, and you both barely make it out of the blast from it exploding.
    That leaves just one.

No, he kept his eye on you the whole time until he was fairly certain you were out of range. He's cocky, not retarded.

You move in towards the enemy, Zolomon is reloading so you cover for him by firing your 90mm out at long range. From this distance the bullets will do little but get their attention, but that's all you want.

Zolomon's first shot is again aimed at the bridge, this time he manages to score a hit, the entire bridge section explodes impressively and trailing smoke and flames the enemy fire becomes a lot more sporadic and the ship begins to list to the side.

You pull out your own Heat Saber and neatly slice in lighting quick flyby s line between the engine and the rest of the ship. A second passes and the entire engine block explodes. The rest of the ship remains intact but the Beam turrets cease firing, although some flak is still firing so you opt to vacate the area.

You turn back to check up on the combat situation, you can see that most of the Saberfish have been destroyed, but the White Base has survived the assault and is currently making an attempt at re-entry.

Still with all of the damage you inflicted, it's possible it might not make it.

In any case you get back in contact with Captain Char, currently inside the Kommusai pod.

"Thank you for your aid Lieutenant Commander. Unfortunately we weren't able to destroy the Trojan Horse even after your forces had drawn away the Gundam. If it weren't for those untimely reinforcements we could have finally put an end to this mission. Futhermore, I've lost both of my Wingmen, the first was killed by the Gundam, and the second was cought in re-entry. Your pilot was able to use her mobile suits power to escape earths gravity however, she's waiting for you at the Falmel, which is one good piece of news. The other is that thanks to our actions, we've forced the Trojan Horse to land in Garma's back yard, and we've trapped the Gundam outside of the enemy ship. Even a monster like that surely couldn't survive re-entry!"

You see both the Kommusai and Trojan Horse wreathed in a scarlet corona, they're no way to follow them for now unfortunately. Looks like that's the end of this mission for you.

Hey, most of the heat generated is from air friction, yes? The Dom would suffer very little of that, due to being on the top-side, and having White Base part the air, as it were. Being in the slipstream.

Direct heat transfer from White Base to the Dom would be likewise limited, as we have only two contact points with the hull (our feet), and heat conduction through ceramics (Which I assume they're using, if they're attempting atmospheric reentry) is pretty damn slow.

Looks like it's time to restate the Earth-bound engagement scheme for combating White Base.

    >Well there was the other plan to simply surround the White Base and continually harass them until the ship wore out.

    >1st unit- Dopps, Luggins & Recon MS form a blockade perimiter around the Trojan Horse at 10-20 km.

    >2nd Unit- Persuit GAW's following at 20-40 km recieve targeting data from 1st unit and use their mega particle cannons from max range. Atleast 1 GAW from 2nd unit will remain seperate incase the Trojan Horse turns and attacks those in persuit.

    >3rd Unit- A handfull of Artillery Teams each deployed via Fat Uncle Transport each with a supporting Luggins. They deploy along the projected course of the Trojan Horse and recieve targeting data replayed by their luggins. These units will be effective even if their target descends to ground level. If threatened by Federation MS they reboard their transport and evac.

Something else that looks like it may be possible after the action today is a possible 4th Unit. They would consist of us drawing out the Gundam and the other V Project vehicles and distract them long enough for the other units to deal damage.

It was the title of the episode where Garma first faced White Base and the Gundam, somewhere in the desert. More than anything else, what we do there will probably steer Garma towards staying alive during the Seattle battle, or dying like he did in canon.

Actually it's the name of Episode 6 of the original series.
    Check it out.

Because I'm going to have to watch everything upto Garma's death before next week really. Just in case. Also, if that's the english dub of Zeta next to the series list, then can I get a confirmation that the Opening Theme for the English Dub is far superior to the original?

meh, use it or not, giant chain, hang it around our MS's neck. like taking a pelt of the animal you have hunted etc.
    >> Anonymous 03/19/10(Fri)20:26 No.8671242
In the coming missions our top priority should be keeping Garma alive for the sake of Zeon.

Also we are not going to be able to kill the gundam. Our best bet is to do enough direct damage to the white base to make it surrender. Keep it tied up behind our lines and starve it for resources. Grind them down.

Once Gama either dies or he have him safe we should let Char hound white base while we take on other Federation targets. Let's not get blinded from taking down the Feddie juggernaut.

You're probably never going to find the original Zeta theme on any uploads, since it's tied up in a messy legal battle for distribution rights or something. Every dub release has that orchestral version, which I think is much better anyway.

Maybe in Katz's case that;s saving a fair few headaches in the future, but still.

The new one on the American releases. The original is more 80s J-rockish. It's actually on the new anniversary CD collection that came out a couple of months back, so if you want to check it out look for the .rars of that.

All of us survived? Good god, we're too good.

And we did damn good, now that the white devil doesn't have a shield things might change (unless they have spares) That and we fucked up white base and killed all its support.

I am honestly amazed at how well we did. Garma's ambush almost worked in the origonal, and we might have done enough damage that it really will work.
    >> I apologised on 4chan !!O1JS15Z6lxy 03/19/10(Fri)20:47 No.8671526

I have no idea either. Although for a second there I thought that Haro was going to shank a bitch.

That's actually a pretty good idea. White Base and the gundam will be bleeding metal from all of Char's attacks.

Yeah, Amuro was FOREVER dumping shit like this. I think he geniunely just tosses his beam rifle in the next episode for Zeon to pick up, right before he goes spastic and beats the tar out of everybody with a Beam Saber.

so aparently there's a little flip up panel on the gundam's right skirt armour, underneath is a button to make the torso shoot off and reveal the core fighter. how lulzy would it be to do a luke skywalker AT-AT attack on a gundam....
