You are Hannah. Also known as H.A.N.A. <A13> or simply as Thirteen, you are the product of Terran Empire biotechnology and designed to act as a living ship controller interface and as a substitute to Artificial Intelligence. You witnessed the destruction of the first extraterrestrial race Humanity encountered among the stars and saw Humanity retreat into the Void as the results of its arrogance began to destroy it. You rebelled against the Fleet to side with your friend, Six, as she and five other H.A.N.A. mutinied aboard the “Prime”, a Fleet Dreadnought. And lastly, your wrecked ship crash-landed on a planet called Thanela Prime, where you remained frozen in Cryostasis for 2000 years until an alien xenoarchaeologist team woke you up. Upon awakening you decided to go with the Seekers that found you to see their civilization heads, and the heads of the Trispecies alliance that is currently in place. Along the way your ship, the "Light Bringer", sufferers from a strange Jump Malfunction and is jerked into a strange solar system, where it is attacked by Pirates. You precede to kick some pirate ass in an impressive spacewalk, and the surviving ship's crew and Captain join you to retake a second Pirate vessel. You head to the Assura system and have a chat with the Council of Three, receive a new ship, befriend the ghost of Nineteen, and meet HANA B for an explosive encounter.

You quietly slip back into your pod after letting HANA B2 rest, and decide to head back to the Assura Station to investigate the dig site the Scientists were asking you to check out. It also wouldn't hurt to get the holes in your ship patched up, as well as Engineering re-pressurized again.

You once again are escorted before the Council of Three, and you notice that there are even more guards around you than before.

"We are sorry for the additional protection, but extensive measures have been taken to keep you safe. Your statement to our people did little to assure those who fear humanity. There have been... outbursts. We would appreciate it if you would separate yourself for a time from our immediate space. We need to calm the masses, and settling insecurities will take a while. But to business.

We have received the report delivered from your fleet, and we have some inquiries for you. How is your new companion's mental state? Due to her... violent outbursts, we are concerned for both her safety and that of our people in case of further 'incidents.' We realize that we cannot extract punishment for the lives lost due to the delicate predicament of your race, but we will remove her from our space if necessary.

We will also be sending a team in shortly to attempt to bring the Battleship for research - is there anything we should know about it?"

Ah, shit, I barely remember anything about Battleship tech

Even then, resentment and fear can be harbored for years by the most common individual. As Seekers of all ideals serve in the military here, I'd caution you to be on your guard."

As for Two, I have taken some steps to help her come to grips with the current situation. It may take some time, but she should be safe. Their first priority will, or at least should be, the saftey of their people.
Try to reaffirm that, to the best of our knowledge, Two was an isolated incident, and that humanity isn't going to suddenly come climbing out of it's tomb and try to exterminate everyone.

On another note, I don't think that the Seekers know that humanity is hiding; I'm tempted to tell them that all the jump data relevant to it was wiped, but then they would know that there are humans in hiding. Honestly, I think we should just not tell them. Let humanity stay asleep until the Seeker are ready for them; look at the ruckus we've caused. Since they aren't looking for it, they won't find it odd that it's not there. No need to say anything about the databanks being wiped; act like there's nothing missing.

Technically, the Seeker armor is able to disperse heat better than that of Humanity. You won't be able to survive a direct hit from a nuke, but you'd be able to graze one without cooking alive. Though more than one would be hazardous to your health.

You return to the ship to bring Two. You can see that the workers have already started patching the holes in the ship, but it would take some time before it was completely fixed.

You approach Two's room, and the guards outside let you in without a hassle. She seems to have just woken up, as she is sitting cross-legged on her bed. She is no longer in her white spacesuit, but is covered in a formfitting bodysuit that is black with red stripes down the sides. A small red flower is embossed on her right shoulder, along with the designation <B2>. She looks up at you with gray eyes that seem to have lost their hardness.

Two has seen Seekers, but not in a friendly way - if you count being captured/rescued, attacked, and restrained.

Two chuckles darkly at that remark, but says nothing as she gets up to follow you. The guards outside her room surround you both and escort you to the awaiting shuttle. Captain Thal'tek sees you both off at the shuttle, but he is a bit disturbed around Two.

You both quickly enter the shuttle - which is a rather small craft. In it are a single pilot and guard, who briefly acknowledge you before setting off.

"Hey Cam, don't the Seekers have any high-yield weaponry? Humanity was always a bit excessive with nukes - did you have that problem?"

"The Seekers have been rather against large weapons of destruction. And for weaponry purposes tend to focus on Kinetic weaponry and Ion Cannon technology. High yield explosives have tended to be viewed as barbaric, but are wielded commonly by the Thickhides."
    >> SeekerInterests 01/28/10(Thu)21:42 No.7817772
Does Cam know as to how powerful these "high-yield" explosives are? Because the ones we were/are capable of making are kind of silly. I hope that the other group of Seekers don't think that we are going to wipe them out because of some catastrophic event that occurred when they found and tinkered with one our old nukes that happened to be still live.
    >> Researcher Sam 01/28/10(Thu)21:46 No.7817847
Fuck yeah, kinetic weaponry. Um, can you give me a better idea of what Ion weapons are like in the HANA 'verse? I've seen them portrayed as beam weapons, semi-laser shot weapons a-la Star Wars, and something approaching plasma, so I don't know exactly what they are here.
    >> WritesStrangelyFag 01/28/10(Thu)21:48 No.7817874

    Why would they think that?

I alway imagined that they had a few accidents with our weapons. We know that most of their technology is reverse-engineered from ours, so they must have some idea of the power of our standard weapons.
    >> H.A.N.A. Quest Part 9 Supernova !FzAyW.Rdbg 01/28/10(Thu)21:52 No.7817943
Ion Cannons tend to be beam weapon oriented - a stream of charged ions projected to superheat a target's hull and eventually melt through it.

Ion Pulse cannons are faster firing but have a shorter range - they are not as concentrated as Ion Cannons but make up for it with an effective point defense capability, as well as able to project ions for longer periods of time than their Cannon counterparts.

The Thickhide high-yield weaponry has a smaller payload than the standard Human nuclear weapon, as well as a smaller blast radius. It makes up for that through being produced in greater numbers.

The shuttle quickly touches down inside the bay, and you and Two exit quickly. Waiting for you are several white clad Seekers, and what appears to be a group of Architects.

The Architects are large, about six feet in height, and are bipedal. They are completely covered in what appears to be chitin, and possess three pairs of arms as well as a single pair of thin, but sturdy looking legs. They gaze at you silently with dark red multifaceted eyes, click their mandibles slightly. They slightly resemble grasshoppers in appearance.

You nod your approval, and you and Two are escorted towards the entrance - joined shortly by a group of twelve suited up Seekers. Two of them are carrying cutting apparatus, and another is bringing a small Geiger counter.

You all switch on your headlamps, and duck through the narrow entrance. The bright lights illuminate what appears to be a large white reception desk in front of you, as well as a gaping hallway. Dust covers the floor thickly. Your helmet monitors show that the atmosphere inside is breathable.

At the reception desk a withered corpse is slumped over, hiding its grin with its head on desk. Several turrets are hanging loosely from the walls, but there are no signs of them having been fired. Against the solid blast doors is another corpse, with its back supported by them. Above it is something written in a rather dark color.

Yeah, let's see about cutting any exposed wires to the turrets, in case they come back online. Then we should search the room. Are there any other exits from this antechamber?

You check the reception desk, and any papers there simply crumble in your gloved hands. They've been here for a long time. You closely inspect the corpse at reception, and notice no obvious causes of death. The corpse at the door, however, is holding its side. Removing its arm shows a small hole.

You instruct a Seeker to cut away at the turrets, and he does so carefully. With a clatter they hit the metal floor, sending up a cloud of thick dust.

The only way further into the complex seems to be the hallway.

You carefully head into the hallway with Two close behind, as well as the rest of the team. Upon entering the corridor, you find a small map on the wall. On it are labeled:

    -Training Arena Observation
    -Main Generator
    -Axillary Generator
    -Subject Housing (CLEARANCE NEEDED)
    >> H.A.N.A. Quest Part 9 Supernova !FzAyW.Rdbg 01/28/10(Thu)23:45 No.7819423
It looked like it wasn't a bullet, as the hole had a larger radius than that of a bullet hole. It was almost perfectly round though.
    >> Anonymous 01/28/10(Thu)23:48 No.7819453
Oh. Perhaps this is a HANA training center?

Check the Main generator first. If we find any more turrets on the way, cut them. Look for clues, what may have happened here.
    >> Researcher Sam 01/28/10(Thu)23:48 No.7819454
Ah, then it could have been a laser. Thank god, I hate those 'trapped with a bunch of parasite aliens who slowly pick the group off one by one' movies.

Security sounds good. We might be able to find some CLEARANCE there. Then head to the generator and restore power. Oh, but before any of that, observatory. Maybe we can see what they were doing here from there.

Hmm, it is just the two of us playing, Sam. Come on lurkers, contribute!
Anyway, I gotta go, it almost 6 AM here. Thanks for the entertainment Supernova.

Okay let's do this, and then the generator. Cut all turrets if we find any.
    >> Researcher Sam 01/28/10(Thu)23:54 No.7819535
inb4 turrets would help us once we restore power, and without them we will have a much more difficult time against whatever enemy we find here. Don't even try to kid yourself, we will find something here that will try to kill us. Search your heart, you know it to be true.
    >> H.A.N.A. Quest Part 9 Supernova !FzAyW.Rdbg 01/28/10(Thu)23:56 No.7819564
You head off in the direction of the Main Generator, with Two looking nervously around behind you. You have to take a couple flights of stairs down as the elevators aren't working, passing a couple corpses on the way. The Main Generator doors have been violently bent inwards, the metal they were made of having been twisted and scorched in some sort of explosion. You enter the room, and the large power core in front of you is silent. Long cables run from it in various directions, and several of them have been cut roughly in two. You can see several axe blades sticking out of some of the thicker cables, but the heads have been partially melted to the floor. There are also heavy scorch marks on the metal walls of the room, and you notice several white imprints in the shape of bodies.

I kinda would like to keep the turrets around. If power is out, it isn't going to come back on without us turning it back on. They might come in handy if anything were to....... happen on the outside. This is a research station, not a military station.
    >> Researcher Sam 01/29/10(Fri)00:00 No.7819634
I mean, they might not even be able to identify the Seekers at all and just leave them alone. If we can restore power, we can send them someplace that we've cleared of turrets, then see if the turrets try to shoot any of us. If they don't make our way to Security to find out what happened, since there will likely be security logs there, and if they DO start shooting us or the Seekers then we'll just turn the power off again.

I doubt the main generator can be restored at this time. Let's head to Aux. Generator.

The generator seems to be an older version of the ones you were familiar with. With all the damage done to the room, I don't think you'd be able to repair it.

Your group turns around quickly and heads to the Auxiliary Generator, which is strangely untouched, if inactive. On the far side of the room is a heavy looking switch. There don't seem to be any corpses in the room.
    >> Anonymous 01/29/10(Fri)00:06 No.7819735
Let's not turn it on just yet. I'd rather not activate anything until we have a good idea of what's around when it's inactive.
    >> SeekerInterests 01/29/10(Fri)00:07 No.7819745
DO NOT PULL SWITCH YET. Have a seeker stay here as a notifier if anything happens, let's go to security since we already determined the AG to be operational. Security will have all the controls to the turrets if anything anyways.
    >> Researcher Sam 01/29/10(Fri)00:08 No.7819750
Now for the million dollar question: will pulling the fuckhuge switch restore power? Because if so, we should do it. But tell the rest of the team to brace against the walls in case some hidden turrets come out; at least this way they won't be immediately visible to them.

You instruct a Seeker to stay by the switch and await a command to pull it, and then head back up towards Security.

The hall leading towards Security is in shambles as you head up it. There are several long scrapes on the wall, as well as multiple bullet holes. Several adult corpses litter the hall, some clutching weapons. One corpse appears to have a pointed pole stuck through it. There also seems to be several smaller corpses scattered around as well.

The door to Security has not been closed, but there seems to be a makeshift barricade up.

Yet they seemed to have lost against a primitive race that used axes and spears...... and that there is no bodies of the dead primitives. This does not bode well. I don't, but that is what Supernova's random encounter sheet is for. Also, if we can find "important" looking console, get Cam to create a proxy of himself and have it poke around to see if he can find anything in the records of what happened. If this is a H.A.N.A. training facility, they would have put things in place to keep the H.A.N.A. out of the systems if shit hit the fan as bad as we think it did.
