    Pt. 1: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/6855998/
    Pt. 2: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/6870742/
    Pt. 3:
We have: Repaired and brought online two satelites in orbit of our moon, one seems to be an area defense turret, the other a laser array for launching/braking solar sail ships. The turret had a rudimentary AI on it, and we gained some information from it. (Towards the end of pt. 2)

Explored undergound moonbase. (Abandoned.) Voided the atmosphere, after being assailed by a fungoid matter that eats superconductors.

Verified that everything we've found seems to have been abandoned for several thousand years.

Early we identified a large orbital spaceyard, and recently the laser array fired on something, braking a ship that delivered a cargo module to the space yard. We dispatched our probe to investigate it, and it is currently on the surface of the cargo ship.

[Unit] is currently residing at Sand Castle Prime.

    [Unit] ponders the next move.

Doesn't seem to be as old as everything else, or at least it's been seeing regular maintenance.
Feels like it's very massive. Definitely loaded.
    >> Bill Murray !!WYG9L8p7tJh 11/26/09(Thu)22:57 No.6885671
That is disquieting. Assuming our original purpose wasn't born from who or wherever this cargo ship came from, we could be seeing some serious opposition to our presence here.

Any signals coming from this thing? Radio waves, micro waves, laser communcations?

Other than that, I say our probe hitches a ride down to the shipyard.
    >> OP 11/26/09(Thu)23:02 No.6885726
Acknowledged. Probe is approaching docking booms.

    Alert: Nanite activity detected.
    [56=56]Alert: minor locomotive appendage damage.

It seems a thin layer of nanites is flowing onto the cargo ship from the space yard.

    Possibilities: Attack? Repair? Scout? Capture?

    Continue toward space yard?
    >> Bill Murray !!WYG9L8p7tJh 11/26/09(Thu)23:07 No.6885805
Is there anyone else here but me and OP?

The probe is expendable. Continue towards the shipyard. Scout and analyze the foreign nanites. Attempt communication. Failing that, leave the cargo ship onto the shipyard, looking for a place without nanites.
    >> OP 11/26/09(Thu)23:13 No.6885901
[I am an hour or so later than I said I'd be. And /tg/ does seem to have other Q threads going.]

Nanites seem either unable or unwilling to communicate.

Analysis: Nanites larger than [Unit]'s own components. Seem designed towards repair/maintenance. Also seem to be spread liberally over space yard itself.

Postulation: Maintenance/repair work; and performing such work on the newly arrived (returned?) cargo vessel?

The ones on the space yard don't seem to be quite as active. They do not damage probe. Space yard seems highly intact, and well maintained. Also vibrates slightly. Postulation: Impacts? Interior activity? Thrusting?

    >> Anonymous 11/26/09(Thu)23:43 No.6886303

    Unknown. Approach?

Theoretically feasible; however, the nanites here have minimal processing power, and larger manipulation levels; nanites are not present in anywhere near the levels required to transfer consciousness.

Unable to reprogram nanites ([Unit] is not present, merely the probe. The probe is significantly less capable than [Unit] in this sort of thing.)

Massive artificial structures detected, multiple energy sources and transmission sources detected. Does not seem to be particularly comprehensible.

Yeah, while our probe is exploring the shipyard, let's refocus on our moon. Send out some probes, built independently, not pieces of ourself, to explore and search for other facilities.

Or if we can, rebuild wiring for a computer bank in the bunker we found and use our power supplies to search it.
    >> Researcher Sam 11/27/09(Fri)00:21 No.6886824

That's what I thought, but figured it was worth a shot.

[Forgot about a party I was going to; that's the reason I'm starting so much later than I said I would.]
Functioning at optimal levels. The turret may self destruct; however, we don't know how to initiate it. The laser array is as stable as it gets.

Shield seems to have no friction. Traction unavailable.
Emission and perimeter mapping suggests that shield exists solely over the opening into the interior of the station.

Since the field seems to be only around the door, attempt to enter through any kind of breach. Since we're made of nanites, we should be able to act like sand, squeezing through the tiniest crack. If there aren't any, let's try to see if there's anyone inside. If not, let's create our own entrance similar to our entrance into the moonside bunker.

What is the extent of our fabrication abilities? I'd like to re-purpose the underground facility into our main base (With Sandcastle Prime as an outpost), and being able to re-creat the circuitry withing the computers there would be nice. Though it would mean that we would put the generators power back into it rather than directing it back to Prime.
    >> Anonymous 11/27/09(Fri)02:02 No.6888114
Computers and systems there are shot, the useful bits eaten, effectively we'd need to construct computers from scratch.
Main advantages of the underground facility to us is power and that it is underground. We may need to start raiding it for metals as well, depending on how well the moon's existing resources meet our needs.
