Burning wind carves out its sculpted shapes in rock and rolling sand. The Astartes of the Mujahideen mark the passing star. Rise and set. Dawn noon and dusk. The bells shudder the sand and the canticles to the God-Emperor drift down to the populace, the daily marker of the strange guardian angels who take their sons to the sky. Stories of the elders tell of a mighty palace with beautiful gardens and libraries and observatories, baths and tiled halls in cavernous rooms, all hidden behind fierce defenses. Their metal dragons flit about the mountain passes and wash the shepherds in their roar, strong but protective.

>>67940714Clearly we're friends with an Inquisitor name Lawrence
>>67940718I had a mighty kek, anon, that's perfect. So, since we have a unique chapter organization, how's it structured? We deviate pretty hard from the Codex Astartes, I'm guessing, despite being Smurf Successors.
>>67940555>>67940730The jinn are pernicious on Bahremen. Those who commune with them are dangerous soothsayers at best and vile sorcerors at worst. Astartes of the Green Mujahideen with pronounced psychic abilities are trained only to control and rein in their powers. They guard the minds of their comrades but do not dare reach deep into the realm of the jinn for fear of their devilish tactics.Their forces are organized quite differently from other Space Marine chapters. They do employ a great deal of auxiliary troops, 'mamluks' whom they take from worlds they pass while on jihad as slave soldiers or serfs. These are children raised by other mamluks into a life of service for Allah-on-Terra.Companies ('brotherhoods') are organized more on family relations. Family ties are key, and although the denizens of Bahremen do not understand it, the family patriarchs and matriarchs keep in contact with their sons and political action on the homeworld can affect their inter-chapter politics. At least, it used to. Before the catastrophe...
I'm imagining they go on pilgrimages to Terra and visit the Emperor's chambers at least once in their lives and maybe even the Kabba as an artifact of the God Emperor if it's still around.

>>67940671>aaand we are at normal chapter strength. Surprising, considering we don't produce Progenoids or the Black Carapace anymore. It's the carapace then probably. Its absence shouldn't interfere with making new smurfs, just with wearing power armor. So they'd have a lot of scouts
>>67940840So we just have an army of Scout Marines instead. That strongly implies a lot of infiltration and guerrilla tactics, which doesn't quite sync with our drop pod assault doctrine, but it's entirely possible they drop in, fade into the desert, let the Tau investigate the drop pod landing site, and then overwhelm the Tau by sneaking in close, where the infidels' guns won't do them any good.we major-league mujahideen now

>>67940983Eh, we rolled Emperor Above All for Chapter beliefs. That puts Big E firmly at the top of any chapter belief food chain. Pretty sure God beats Great Prophet. It's also good because then our Inquisition pals would be less inclined to purge us for putting someone else before the Emperor in terms of spiritual importance
>>67940811Yup, I'm imagining each brotherhood is either brothers or close cousins whose families were bound by marriage. And they'd have little conflicts with the other brotherhoods and raid each others stuff without killing (like oldschool arabs). But then something went wrong and they have to work together now cuz no geneseed. And they're sorta like Salamanders who interact with their families still.

>>67941196https://www.metmuseum.org/toah/hd/figs/hd_figs.htmIn many cases Islam has been opposed to the depiction of living things.
>>67941196Per the Qur'an, to create an artistic image of something is to tacitly worship it, instead of Allah.Apparently they made an exception for photo/video, though.
>>67941223Yet their older books had depictions of people and angels (with fabulous rainbow wings) and Egypt uses an eagle on their flag. It's weird, basically, but mudjaheeden are fanatics
>>67941233I should probably specify an image of a living creature, man, beast or plant. This is why Arabic art so traditionally centers around geometric patterns instead. As for video, I assume the doctrinal reason for the exception was the comparative lack of effort involved next to painting or engraving, but it was probably really because the religious leaders realized that they needed modern tech for a modern world.

>>67933748Pretty much this. Also they were the elite hotness for a decade, so everyone who wanted them already has an army worth. They have to be ignored if new models are going to get pushed.
>>67941004the big E has been around for a long time, he was probably the Great Prophet, Buddha, and Gilgamesh
>>67944873>>67944439Random thought:A couple hundred years ago, GM were cursed during an operation by a Lord of Change whose presence on the planet they didn't know about and didn't expect. (Possibly this is where ISIS split from them) Since then, almost all new brothers had faulty carapaces. They connected to their power armours but there was no proper signal and young astartes were not able to reach anywhere near the mobility expected from a space marine. So the chapter had to adapt and adopt a new doctrine, of sudden strikes with light armoured marinesThey still have precious few veterans able to wear their armours at full capacity but year by year their numbers dwindle. In truth, chapter apothecaries devised a method of temporarily reactivating the activity of the carapace that involves a very complicated chemical concoction taken over a period of a week. There's just one problem: most brothers who take it die less than a month after that. So it's treated as a last ditch measure.I just really wanted to include al-chemie and warriors doomed to die
>>67945215I feel like since they're at full strength it should be a recent change. Also, they COULD just wear Inquisition power armor since that doesn't require a carapace. Maybe that's what they've started doing with their buddy Inquisitor Lawrence.

The Caliphate of the Imperial State will not rest until the infidels have been removed. Even now the pernicious Eldar wield their influence in the halls of Terra. Join me brothers in eradicating all threat to the True Belief.
1d4chan.org/wiki/Green_MujahideenPage basically completed. /tg/ got it done lads.
>>67945215Wait...>>67939468>>67940555>>67945303How about this: they've always had problems with the Black Carapace due to coming from the Cursed Founding, but their Librarians had found a way to fix it through maintenance. The thing is, at some point they got in a Warp-tainted place and their Librarians were all corrupted. They threatened the rest of the chapter to stop their maintenance if they didn't fully convert to Chaos, effectively splitting the GM between the loyalists and the ISIS marines. As the Librarians had always kept their methods of maintenance secret, the GM lost their counter against their flawed geneseed. To remember their Librarians' treachery, they abolished their Librarium, passing over the task of finding a cure to their condition to their Apothecaries.
>>67949177Glory be to Allah-upon-Terra, we shall drive the Tau from our tabletops!
>>67949177>They also visit an ancient black meteorite held in the art galleries of the Palace, and travel to the Garden of the Primarchs to throw rocks and sometimes shoes at the plinth where Horus' statue once stood.
>>67949921Wouldn't they consider psychic powers heresy, like BT do?
>>67951206Then again, they might've been less radical in the past
>>67947084Personally, I'm torn between the last two in >>67942906I'll play with colors a bit when I'm home but that won't happen in a while, so we'll see if the thread will still be up.Maybe it would make sense to use the laurels version for the veterans and skull for the new incomplete marines?
>>67949921This also serves to help make the Tau our primary enemies. As the ISIS Marines ultimately still believe they are in service to Allah-on-Terra despite being tragically misguided and corrupted by Chaos, and are quite literally related by blood to the rest of their old Chapter, the two groups might tend to steer clear of one another. Meanwhile the Tau are actively secular in a particularly harsh way, and may be oppressing believers in the true faith in hopes of spreading their alien collectivist philosophy. Allah-on-Terra is not served by this, and demands Jihad on the alien over our misguided kin.
Adding daily rituals, holler if anyone's edited the wiki page and doesn't want it overwritten
>>67951704Do ISIS marines still believe in Allah-on-Terra or just Allah and don't believe the corpse on Terra is him?
>>67951746Daily rituals up, feel free to backtrace my IP if it's shit.
>>67945105>IslamGreen>ISISBlack>KhorneDark redBlack armors with green pauldrons and red borders could be a sweet color scheme. Maybe flip green and black but not sure. The symbol - a crescent moon horns down crossed with an upright scimitar
>>67951746Chain carapace? Doesn't the word "carapace" imply a solid sheet of armor?
Don't ask me how, but I think we might have just made what is both a giant piss-take at both GW and Islam, while also being possibly one of the most accurate depictions of Islam in fiction created by heathens.
>>67952415Who says all of us are heathens, anon?
>>67952415Best parodies are done lovingly
>>67951973Good question. My guess is they think it's the real deal and Chaos has just made them so psychotic any such belief is being warped and twisted into a tool of the archenemy. They stray from the path Allah-on-Terra intended.Inquisitor Lawrence is accepting of this state of affairs being a closet Radical and thinks the whole mess probably isn't his business. Long as the GM continues their Jihad against the Tau.
>>67952756I like the bit in 1d4chan article about them having an Imperial State of their own, though hailing Khorne as one true god clashes with their general muslim-ness and their supposed treatment of Chaos as a tool that was rolled up. I think they should treat him as a messenger of the true Allah and Emprah as a false prophet that's been fooling their old chapter for millennia
>>67952415Yeah. Muslim guy here. I like it. I would change a few things though. To be closer to orthodoxy, God remains Allah but the Emperor is the Mahadi. This is not unprecedented c.f. the Admech. In the Islamic traditions, the Mahadi will lead humanity to the Last Golden Age before Qiamat (armageddon). In said traditions, the Gog and Magog will come to destroy everything but will be defeated by the Mahadi. In this case, gog and magog can be interpreted as xenos and Chaos. Girlyman can be one of the chosen Caliphs, akin to the four earliest Caliphs or 7 Imams among the Shia. Islam forbids sihr (black magic) thus the proscription against Librarians. In Islam, you pray 5 times a day at specific times by performing specific rituals in specific order. This fits in with the Space marines lifestyle very well. There's also fasting in Ramadhan, pilgrimages and performing sacrifices. All of it fits too.
>>67945263Inquisition power armors, especially in Marine sizes should be either super rare or custom made. I guess he has some connections on a nearby forge world (and a hate boner for Tau), so decided to aid our green buddies with their predicament. Still, there just can't be many armor sets that he can provide, but every one is a brother that survives a stray shot
>>67953018Asking as a fan of pretend space religions, what're your thoughts on the notion of Islam mutating over 30,000+ years in space into a functionally different, very similar faith? Particularly when the work of Imperial missionaries and priests bring the chapter homeworld into the Emperor's domain to ensure whatever loose compliance with Imperial orthodoxy can be reached?
>>67953018Forgot to add. In Islam there's distinction between mukjizat (miracles) and sihr (black magic). Mukjizat are miracles given by God to the Prophets and sometimes very pious people. E.g. Moses' staff turning into snake. Sihr is the use of supernatural agents other than God, usually djinns for a similar effect. This can explain the psyker abilities of allied chapters or the Emperor himself while still staying true to the no librarians charateristic.
>>67953066Well, the way I see it, the galaxy is huge and planets can range from stone age to hive worlds. A planet might be settled by orthodox muslims etc and they latter adopted variations of the Imperial Creed. Since Girlyman himself doesn't like the worship of the Emperor as God, I think this new Chapter might even be favored now.
>>67953124So sanctioned psykers who don't fall to corruption are viewed as particularly pious? It'd make sense. Being able to shrug off daemonic influence is a matter of willpower, and considering it's likely to help reinforce their willpower to keep them from being munched by daemons or being possessed, they probably actually are that pious.
>>67953124Honestly, miracles sound more like ones Sisters have. GM could still be basically like BT and treat all psykery as too close to sorcery for their liking. Imperium really doesn't get along internally, so there's no reason for us to provide a get-away-with-psykers-free catd
>>67953189Also the hatred on the Tau also fits. Isl hates disbelievers (kuffar) more than the People of the Books (Chtistians/Jews). The Tau being space-atheists will rile up the Chapter pretty good.
>>67953190Yep. You can also call it 'karamat'. Many pious Imams were said to perform such feats.
All they ahd to do was give aggressors melee options and the old-school terminator heads, but GW managed to fuck that up
>>67953272Are pagans kuffar? Because just about every non-human other than Tau and mindless creatures in 40k is in that category
ALL Muslims are require to learn by heart the following Surah. It might sound familiar to Christans (Lord's Prayer).(1) In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy(2) Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds[mankind, jinn and all that exist](3) The Entirely Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy(4) Master of the Day of Judgment(5) Thee do we worship, and Thine aid we seek(6) Show us the straight path(7) The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy Grace, those whose (portion) is not wrath, and who go not astray. You can have the Mujahideen Marines recite this prayer before battle.
>>67953389Yes. Very much so. The Muslim hatred ranking goes from lowest to highest: Jews, Christians, Pagans, Heretics.
When faced with psyker enemies, the Mujaheedin marines can recite the following verse (Verse of the Throne) from the Quran. Traditionally, when Muslims encounter supernatural disturbances, they will recite this. Many will frame it on their houses wall too.Allah – there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Knowledge [throne] extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.
>>67952843>Imperial StateImperial State of [I-something. Ixaniad? Inca? Some new one?] Sector
Reminder that just like Templars aren't really Christian, just resemble them, these guys probably shouldn't be real Muslims either
Zulfiqar, a massive power scimitar with a false blade, is the greatest relic of the chapter and is considered the symbol of power of the Caliph, handed from Rowboat himself. It is also the symbol of the first Brotherhood, composed almost entirely of veteransNot sure about the name of the first Brotherhood. Truth Seekers, maybe. They then could be a perma-crusading company and possibly their older iteration was what became ISIS
After 3ed special rules replaced lore and story. By primaris.
How do Templars work with Primaris? How are they integrated if at all? Might be useful for the greenies
>>67953018>In the Islamic traditions, the Mahadi will lead humanity to the Last Golden Age before Qiamat (armageddon). Not sure if it fits Emprah or Rowboat Girlyman better
>>67955095I don't think it was expanded upon. But logic says Temars would be pretty pissed. I mean all of them had to go through grueling selection and decades as neophytes before becoming true brothers, and here pop these pretenders with their power armor declaring themselves black templars. I wouldn't be surprised if the first batch of Primaris was stripped of armor and toys and told "You are no brothers until we say so, now get in line, Neophytes", and subject them to the initiation period from the start
>>67956829Here's a thought then:Guilliman's word is law and Green Mujahideen would have accepted Primaris (or Amaliqa as they call them) without much questioning. But here we run into a writing issue:1) Primaris geneseed and old chapter geneseed generally aren't related at all, though I seem to remember something about BA Primaris getting cases of Black Rage and Black Dragons sprouting horns and spikes.2) Our chapter is supposed to have a devastating genetic flaw that appeared recently.3) Primaris marines are a recent introductionSo why not have Primaris be the damaged ones? Old geneseed works fine but they're not supposed to make new brothers of the old type, it's the new that got damaged and they had to adapt. It kills a bit of pathos admittedlyAlternatively, the founding is truly cursed and even new advanced recruits didn't last long in mint condition and their black carapaces are faulty now too
>>67933615The Emperor is not even alive this millenium.
>>67957175What ifThe Librarius fell to chaos BEFORE being disbanded and actively sabotaged the chapter geneseed after the primaris were introduced
It's a bit on-the-nose don't you think? You could call them the Green Crescents or something and make the symbol less obvious.
>>67958079It's exactly as on the nose as Black Templars
>>67957762Or they fell ages ago and an actual curse fucks up the development of new brothers, primaris or not
This thread is surprisingly good. Bump of approval.
