Sir Esli Sanglin of Llamu, Hammer of the Waves, pirate-hunter, and last known slayer of an armored leviathan.>>67371729I actually have a few encounters based on that artwork, but they revolve around deserters or bandits who exploit mirages and mirror sand to blind their enemies, led by a mirror-armored knight from a kingdom that specializes in blind fighting for religious reasons.>local wild elves that have been enticed by the bandits ambush the road from the right>party presumably follows or continues getting peppered by arrowfire>if the party follows, the elves don goggles while running into a patch of mirror sand, where the party fights Okovao, his friend Thamii Kiire, a rogue who will be exploiting the hell out of a blinded party, and half of the elves>while at least part of the party and caravan guards are distracted in the blinding sands, the actual bandits combined with the rest of the elves make a quick raid on the caravan from the left, trying to confuse or distract the defenders while they steal as much as they can carry and run the hell away>if any of the defenders successfully follow the second half, one of the bandits is equipped with a horn that casts thunderwave, blowing back the defenders and signaling to the rest of the raiding party that the fight is overBut honestly, I like your version better. The image does seem like so much more mystical than just a deserter. I think I'll just keep the encounter as is but replace Okovao with a few fighters/rogues using mirrored pavises. Also I hadn't considered the idea that within a mirage that armor might make him functionally invisible from certain angles, even if the party's eyes weren't being burned out.
>>67376085Ffs, forgot the pic.
Albert Vormann, the Owl of Estgart
>>67373414Yeah its a pretty iconic reference. Although if you haven't seen Black Cauldron its fun. Failing that the concept art is dope.
>>67381514Why is that GoTshit? Because it doesn't look like something from WoW?
>>67384730I'm talking about the post, not the image.
>>67384877obnoxiously long ass titles weren't uncommon m8>His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, Earl of Merioneth, Baron Greenwich, Royal Knight of the Most Noble Order of the Garter, Extra Knight of the Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle, Member of the Order of Merit, Grand Master and First and Principal Knight Grand Cross of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Knight of the Order of Australia, Additional Member of the Order of New Zealand, Extra Companion of the Queen’s Service Order, Royal Chief of the Order of Logohu, Extraordinary Companion of the Order of Canada, Extraordinary Commander of the Order of Military Merit, Lord of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council, Privy Councillor of the Queen’s Privy Council for Canada, Personal Aide-de-Camp to Her Majesty, Lord High Admiral of the United Kingdom.>Caesar Imperator Lucius Aelius Aurelius Antoninus Commodus Augustus Pius Beatus Sarmaticus Maximus Germanicus Maximus Britannicus Maximus, Pax Orbis, Invictus, Romanus Herculaeus, Pontifex Maximus, Patria Patriae, Amazonius Fortunatus, Consul for the Seventh Time, Imperator for the Eighth Time, Tribune for the Eighteenth Time
>>67385568Stop being obtuse nigger, all you had to get to was the "Ser" in that psot
>>67384877I just googled those titles, they don't appear to be from Game of Thrones. It seems as though you've developed a kneejerk reaction to certain types of fantasy due to a dumb HBO show. You should probably fix that, it's pretty obnoxious.
>>67385760'Ser' was more common a spelling than 'sir' until around the time of the printing press, retard. As such you see it turn up in a lot of media that tends toward creating a sense of authenticity in its linguistics. For instance, Dark Souls and Dragon's Dogma are two examples of this turning up in vidya.Lots of people use 'ser' for this reason.
>>67381514Pretty sure that's from For Honor breh.
>>67386448samefag or not he's still right.> King of the Woods, Oldest of the First, Wise Counsel, Tan Crid, Who Endures.
>>67386448Why do people shit arguments always cry samefag when they get ripped raw by the mighty phallus of reason?Whether those two posts are made by the same guy is irrelevant. Both are correct. Ser is an archaic form of sir that appears in a lot of stuff. Long titles are, much like ser, an attempt to replicate the actual norms of medieval nomenclature. GRRM did not invent either of these thing and they have been in use in fantasy fiction long before he started writing, let alone his relatively recent surge in popularity.I mean, shit, should it really surprise you that a thread about knights has some terminology in it that GRRM has used? The guy who writes almost exclusively about fantasy knights doing fantasy knight things in high chivalric fantasy England?
>>67386963frankly yes because normies have been flooding this place for years
>>67387128oh no! normies! them and their agenda set by Big Hygiene are out to control us! panic!
>>67386963>ripped raw by the mighty phallus of reason?nigger you need to calm down with this absurdity because it really just makes it even more obvious it's all you
>>67387207>Big Hygienelmao what
>>67387428Yes, everybody that disagrees with you is the same person. Obviously.Stop being such a stupid cunt. Shit, let me do some demonstration with this post.>>67387128>>67387207
>>67387671Point to the (you)s.
>>67387128>Reeeeing about generic fantasy writing on /tg/ >Cant admit you're wrong in the Internet so resorting to reeeing about normies Stupid faggots like you are the reason we need normies to keep this fucking board alive. Try being less retarded and we'll be better off in the long term. Now post your Knight or get out.
>>67387128You're a fucking idiot. Shit, would normies even know that George tries to replicate ye olde language by using ser? Normies don't read the books, they watch the show.
