Link to last thread>>63727920So we got a Tomb WOlrd full of amnesiacs fighting Chaos, a Harlequin Troupe full of Tragedy last thread. What else could we do? Lets fluff some groups>The Necrons of the TW/Cemetery are understanding enough to realize they are lieterally and figuratively living in a grave since the Chaos forces are right on their doorstep, Imperail forces have been evacuating large swathes of essential populace and infrastructure away from the Whirlpool ever since it appeared leaving them all alone.>The Tomb World's native populace and leadership have largely taken to this situation with a dour and down beaten attitudes they always have. The necrons have to secretly control them from the shadows to prevent the attentions of the Inquisition>But the Inquisition has known of them for centuries, and the situation has led to them pretty much only keeping a few eyes and ears on them just as a formality, they see Chaos taking over it an eventuality>The system has little going for it and they know it, they have more important things to do.
Sapphire, Pleasure World>The numerous undersea resorts that dot the planet cater to specific tastes and pleasures for visiting Nobility>The planet is quite under defended, partly because of the issues involved in living underwater weapons are largely banned to prevent damages, and the difficulty of getting underwater to invade in the first place>The storms that eternally rage on the surface make getting there a challenge if the craft are not built for it and if one does so when the weather isn't right>The Fue'leo Dynasty that rules the world has gained many favors and prestige for their effective ruling of the world and the R&R that they provide to the Sector's nobility
>>63763338Paarched, feral world>Barran dry and full of feral orks human fortress citys are built around the few natural springs >military tech is mid iron age but any form of non war related culture is almost non-existent >because of this they find high tech weapons super useful but find non-military tech (like a lightbulb) absolutely mind-blowing>because of this they make very good Skitari>home to a huge bipedal monsters that the local Forge moons turn into potent combat servitors>home to a large vampiric apex predators (called The Big Beast by the locals) which the locals will sometimes attempt to hunt (with little success)>those that manege to return with the skin of a Big Beast will either be recruited by the local Astartes, get turned into a Skitari alpha or get inducted into the sectors Schola (depends on their age/ compatibility with the Astartes gene seed>also home to a huge cactus that makes up it's own forest, by killing any forms of lower orkoid that try to form within its reach it keeps the Orc within the forest from forming a Waaaagh!!! Of any meaningful size>the Orks on the planet have got it into their heads that the Cactus is sentient which considering the amount of Orks on the planet is.... Troubling

>>63764013Was making dinnerAquae 3>Capital of the Sector>Has looming religious issues since each passing year means more people are converting to the Machine Cult>This has led to the skyrocketing Mechanicus power on the planet and the Sector at large>The Cult of the God Emperor has been largely relegated to the upeer classes (Nobles and Priests etc) with most people only having a small parish if they are lucky>Because of this they have been feeling alienated and have increasingly turned to the Omnissiah since it seems to have tangible benefits>Is home to Ganger Light Infantry that have become friends of the Skitarii and Titan Legion owing to the religious similarities and helping them out of near destruction along with the similarities in tactics
>>63764013>The Forge Moons of PaarchedEach of the nine moons of Paarched is filled with a different rare and valuable material and each is an independent Forge Moon>the Forge Moons hate eachother with a passion intense and constantly bicker and Politic with eachother > the rare Minerals found on the moons seem to regenerate so longs as the forges don't take to much>each of the moons has access to a shared pool of Skitari recruited from Paarched vehicles and more advanced weaponry must be provided by the Moon that's using them>there's also a shared titan legio built by the 9 moons long ago in one of the few instances of them working together >to unleash the Titans all 9 moons must Ok the Operation, which considering the resources each moon invested in them and the contempt they have for each other their are only deployed in the most dire of situations >comprises several Warmonger titans and a warhound titan dating back to the Dark age of technology that serves as the lead engine > awhile back a crack team of Mercenary snipers disabled the weapon systems of every single engine in the legio>a small group of guardsmen light infantry engaged the enemy in melee allowing the Legio to retreat, this battle is both the guard regiments greatest victory and the legios most Humiliating defeat .>the crazy Archaic guns of the warhound fixed themselves and the rest of the legion only require basic maintenance to get their weaponry working again >however the Forge Moons are to busy bickering to allow that to happen as every Forge Moon insists that they are the only ones component enough to carry out the repairs > so the Titans just orbit around Paarched with broken weapons waiting for basic repairs that may never come as the Nine moons bicker and Politic
What else did we roll? Oh yeah the Troupe>Harlequin Troupe that focuses on Tragedies and such>Underneath it all though is the underlying themes of bittersweet and perseverance against the dark>In battle and many performances the Troupe of Light takes stage first and foremost like the heroes of yore, insprining all with their actions>Are commonly assisted by the Shining Spears Aspect Shrines from the Craftworld>Their image and nature of the gallanet knight in shining armor rallying against the dark resonates with them deeply>Their Troupe leader was a Death Jester after the previous one died by ay of Merc Sniper Astartes

>>63767686>>63767700Maybe, then again we could tie it into one of the reasons that the mechanicus hasn't touched the world too much by making it that it was an imperial saint who came to them, that or make it that a great daemon of slannesh, named "The wicked witch" was planning on claiming the world until the ancestor chapter of the current one came and killed her off, thereby securing the archeo-tech and, deciding that such a powerful relic needed defending decided to set down roots upon it's surface?Actually, considering the witch's skin colour, maybe it was a nurgle daemon prince/greater daemon?

>>63767748That could work. Dorothy (Tentative name) managed to disguise herself and even completed many of the trials to get an audience with the CM to save her Brother is how I could see it. >>63768141No astronomica, maybe they make up for it with the Yellow road? The mechanicus makes sense because of the relic but it's only a small force because they don't want to start a war with the marines of OZ for some reason, maybe to avoid damaging the Yellow road? And finally, we have an inquisitorial party that appears to be snooping around the planet, probably their to ensure that the marines aren't using the yellow-road for anything nefarious, of course, they can't get too close to it so they're just their to keep an eye on the Astartes.
>>63768178The ministorum dominates the planet, mainly labourers and city-dwellers, they keep the place generally tidy for the astartes and are the main communicative force between the Marines and everyone else.Alright, looks like we have a small hotbed of tension based around a more people orientated chapter and a handful of archaeo-tech obsessed fanatics. Now, let's roll to see how big our moon is, roll 1d80, as I don't see our moon being any bigger than the earth's.

Rolled 8 (1d80)>>63768232RollingMaybe the large ecclisiarchy presence is due to Dorothea herself? They decided to make her a local saint after hearing of her exploits and made the moon a semi Shrine world not only from the marines being buried there but the girl turned saint?

>>63768272I like it. So we have the Friends settled on the Ecclisiarchy? You don't see that as often in these threads.Maybe SoB later as well?
>>63768268It's a miniscule moon, looks like something a dwarf moon would have, probably got slowly melted down to it's current size due to being so close to the burning steam ball, probably only one main city surrounded by the mass graveyard that is the rest of it.Oh shit, it's the emerald city, no wait, that would be the biome on OZ, instead it will be called Kansas after the moon's original name?Okay, roll 1d100 for axial tilt

Kansa) which puts them in constant contact with the Warriors of OZ SM Chapter, this proximity and closeness became especially intense after they took in and trained the Saint To Be Dorothy who secretly performed the WoO's initiation rites to seek an audience with the WoO's Chapter Master>The Order is lacking in numbers not exactly from battle but more from the circumstances of their living arrangements and fighting style which synergizes better with smaller numbers of Sisters in PA and keeps them better stocked to prevent over extending themselves
>>63778685>The numbers of the Marines are suspected to be due to the mkeeping a larger than typical Scout Company or perhaps dividing the duties between the Companies to prevent all their eggs being in one basket.>This also improves the operational independence of eac hComapny when deployed for extended periods of time>Such Company modifications are typical among the more divergent Chapters though it is rather frowned upon, the Warriors point to the Whirlpool and the constant Ork threat as examples of why they do so in the first place>In addition to modeling themselves off of the Dark Angles, thy have taken a large degree of their formations and tactics from the Raven Guard and their successors and blending them with their own to create a unique blend which have served them well>Colors are deep Opalescent Emerald Green with gold accenting, eye glass tends to be Amber or Red>Their equipment is bedecked in purity seals and various holy texts, whether inscribed/embossed, engraved or otherwise>Their vehicles of the Ravenwing, the flyers in particular, are reported to be equipped with stealth devices of some unknown make which have been known to turn them invisible to either sensors or vision>They are also known for making use of Mk VI armor, most notably among the strike teams >They favor Tactical Marines over Devastator or Assault but they are stil found, they merely prefer the simplicity and versatility afforded to the Tacticals
>>63779131>Weetchykeeny is very hard to put down, likely explained by the Greenskin's Black apparel and it's excellent grasp of its psychic powers>Whatever doesn't kill it outright it will teleport away from to safety>Does not take part if battle directly often, prefers sending minions/Boys to do its bidding>Its Waagh! is coming from the North EastI need to buy new stuff for the party, I completely messed up
>>63783227I guess everyone is asleep and getting prepared for New Years Eve.Well it's been a good run, maybe i'll make a new thread the day after or something after everyone is rested up and gotten over the hangovers you will all inevitably incur.
Another Forge moon material>Adamantite>This material is otherwise unremarkable on it's own>As the name suggests it has to do with Adamantium, that most common and useful resource the Imperium is ever in need of>When mixed into an Alloy, Adamantite will spread and slowly turn the alloy into pure Adamantium>The Adamantium that is created from this process is 1-2% more volume than what originally went into the mold>This Adamantium can then be harvested for various purposes>A curious application is when manipulated it can dissolve Adamantium when it comes into contact with it, or at least weaken it enough to become incredibly brittle/malleable in addition to being even weaker versus extreme heat, lowering the threshold required
I just realized I meant to type Thread V not IV. I'll have to fix that when I go to save it on suptg. Silly me
Last bump just in case
>>63785751We need a name for the chapter of marines that were killed by the Whirlpool MercenarysHere's some suggested fluff>UltraSmurfs>founded in m39 when Tarot readings by the Ultramarines Librarium predicted an immanent danger>Set up their fortress monastery on the then sector capital >Around mid M41 the chapter began a crusade against Chaos Mercenarys that had begun operating in the area and won a string of victorys culminating in a huge assault on the Mercenarys were the Tzeenchian elements were caught with their pants down and completely exterminated followed by a bungled counter attack by the Kornate and Nurglish Mercenarys which saw the destruction of both those elements as well>afterwards the Slaaneshi elements of the warband seemingly disintegrated and fled across the galaxy >the Chaos undivided remnants attempted Guerilla warfare but were systematically annihilated >some of the chapter were caught out by the great rift opening the Ultima Crusade replaced any of their losses bringing them back up to 1000>Afterwards the chapter assumed that the predicted threat that led to their founding was the deamontide caused by the great rift>It was not
>>63788744Hadn't given them much thoughtHow about the Pursuers?
>>63788744Oh yeah I forgot they were rolled for M39. I thought they were earlier and their destruction is what led to the forming of the Stars and replacement.
>>63788923Yeah looking back this is what we kind of had, or rather it was me since no one really agreed to it.
>>63788744They sort of are a posthumous group but what kind of colors would they have? You suggested they come from the Hive Capital but they were pushed back to their homewolrd by the mercs and led to their doom by way of the CM giving up and trying to join chaos to save them (it didn't)
>>63788744Just going to save the thread and start a new one tomorrow or so. Happy New Years!
